Reviews of Los Angeles Union Station
Jos Berkien
This operational train station is beautiful place from the inside and the outside and is famous as the backdrop of some very well know films throughout the years. Beautiful architecture so take the time to have a closer look. Make sure to also visit the restaurant/bar on the side of it as it has the same aged look and feel but also offers a wide selection of nice dishes and some great home made beers. It is possible to even have a look at the brewery itself in the back. Worth a visit.
nick GERARDO
Well this is in Grand Central Station but it is a very beautiful and train station. The architecture is really nice all the different tiles are pretty cool. I would say it is a little confusing inside such as trying to figure out where the exit is. I do wish the United States is a lot better in traveling by train because you really get to see America/ all the beautiful sceneries.
Ian
Everything goes at Union Station! You’ll see everything and you must watch out at all times. It’s almost like a passage through times but once you get outside you’ll see things you may not have seen in your lifetime. It’s an urban safari. It’s true but I can’t describe it you have to see it to believe it. Encampments everywhere. The union station looks cool but expect to find it kind of dirty at times. The train gates/platforms are the worst. Use the bathrooms at your own risk. If you go here with your children don’t lose them from your sight. It’s a dangerous place at all times.
Howard Rains
Expansive and impressive but not so much since I had just recently been to the Chicago Union Station which is several levels more impressive. Signage is not all that clear. My biggest gripe is the lack of available seating. My wife and I had just finished our trip on the Coast Starlight and had to wait, first for our luggage (30+ minutes) then again for our Uber. The only seats are roped off and are available for ticketed people only. Since we just finished our ride, we weren't allowed to sit. My wife was injured and standing was quite painful for her.
Kathy Edwards
I really liked how the set up was inside. Very clean and organized. I like that they had special seating areas for people on layover, with a person monitoring it at all times. The seats were comfy, not the usual plastic or metal ones. I loved the detailed ceiling! It was also nice with the red cap service helping me on and off the train and helping with my bags. Thank you red cap!!
Richard Lopez
Great historic building and a beautiful part of Los Angeles history. We took a train from San Bernardino to Union Station to enjoy a day at Little Tokyo. Station was clean for the most part and offered plenty of food and drink options.

I can imagine that this train station at one time was beautiful and well attended. With time, the facility has aged and is not so elegant today. The facility has clearly aged, so that it appears worn down. Renovations can return to its state of glory. Be wary that the homeless can be seen everywhere. However, there are plenty of security and police throughout the interior.
VarsityJazz
The art work is unbelievable beautiful!♥️ I looked at each an every person. These portraits add just the right amount of flavor, to reflect the diversity of this beautiful community. 🌞🌟👍There also is a beautiful aquarium.🐟🐟🐠🐠🐡

I went there yesterday. It's raining. However, it was a nice trip to go around. Friendly staff. I like the way they design this station. This was my first time there, suprising about the metro, I don't know it is free or not, but no fence to get on the metro as New Jersey or New York. I used 3 times, I did ask the drivers, they said free. I don't know about you, but I love this city, if I know Spanish it will be perfect to live here.
Renee Johnson
we didn't spend to much time was whisked from our train to greyhound to catch another train but the service personnel. was very helpful and cheerful. Our bus ride through L.A. was fun and exciting, everyone tellin stories about points of interest along the way.
Maria Diaz
Union Station is a beautiful jewel in Los Angeles. Lots of staff members helping people, police security making sure everything is ok. Very clean and spacious and very artistic place. Services like bus station, metro station, and amtrack station are available here.
Courtney Wallace
It's been about 20 years since I've been here and still love the historic building. The one thing I love about taking the train is that it's not as crowded as the airplanes. That's the same with the station. It wasn't that crowded people had their masks on and it was very easy to navigate through. Wish I could've got some better photos. I loved the display of images they had on the wall and really wish I could've had more time to look and admire them longer.
Rian C
Wasn’t here to commute, but just moseying around in general. We managed to find parking by following the signs, prices weren’t too bad. Pretty neat architecture inside and outside too. Took an hour or two to explore.
Lovein Thomas
The station is huge and can be very easily confusing. Would recommend checking the station's map on the internet beforehand, especially if your transit time is quite less. Otherwise, you can explore or ask someone for help. The restrooms in the station is not the best, probably the train restrooms are better. If you have an Amtrak ticket then you have designated seating area and if you have a room or roomette ticket then you can access the first class lounge on the second floor.
D
This is a beautiful place with a couple of bars and places to get some food while you wait to go on your way to your destination.
There are restrictions to seat at the lobby, seating is reserved for passengers only. Easy way to get to or from LAX with FlyAway.
Catnip
It’s a must see LA landmark, you just have to remind yourself you are in LA, at a public transportation hub, which can dub as public housing. It’s loaded with glitz, glam, history, culture, centrally located and easy to navigate.
If arriving from LAX, It’s a direct bus via Fly Away.
If you have time in your schedule, walk across the street to Olvera street, or just wander and enjoy the building.
St Francis
Busy, busy, busy. It's impossible to find a place to sit down without a ticket. The restrooms are filthy and most times the toilets are out of order. The vendors are overpriced; A typical tourist trap. Try to arrive at least an hour before your departure time. You have no choice of avoiding Union Station if you're riding on Amtrak or Metrolink. Enjoy the LA side show. But be careful!
Galli
Lovely old building. Clean & well kept up. We attended event at one of the bars there. Had a good time.
Gabrielle Garcia-Williams
You are definitely stepping back into time. When folks dressed up to travel. Although I was in jeans. I love Union Station, it is so well kept. Beautiful during the holidays.
Tamara López
Tea was most helpful in helping me plan my birthday tour of the city sites. Beautiful architecture and very clean.
T. Kang
I love public transit, especially trains. Los Angeles Union Station is an amazing place with lots of history. Once LAX completes its Automated People Mover project, this place is going to be even busier!
Juma Nyumba
If you're arriving in union Station via metro or metrolink and going to LAX via flyaway bus, go towards East union Station follow signs to exit and turn right, you'll see busses and the flyaway booth too. Tickets 9.75 one way at least 30min to LAX.
Mehran
A great architectural building with a unique Los Angeles style. It was built big back in the day that they did that kind of thing. And it’s still dutifully serving it’s purpose today and looks great. It was cleaned up fir the Oscars when I was there so it was especially pretty. Worth checking out if you are in LA.
Quasimodo
An extensive and quite beautiful building, harking back to 1930/40s LA. Unfortunately it's all somewhat static, with rooms and furniture roped off.
Aaron Lewis
Beautifully restored architecture. It's unfortunate that the homelessness crisis has forced them to cordon off the seating area and post guards at the entrances; it turns dystopian what would otherwise be beautiful. Also, the water fountains in Union West are broken.
Ambar B Capoor
Arguably one of the most gorgeous buildings in Los Angeles. The interior of the central hall, especially the ceiling and chandeliers are absolutely stunning. There are some decent restaurants and bars as well as the brewery on the premises. A nice feature is the hidden bar in the brewery. Definitely worth a trip.
Erika L Garcia
I prefer using metroLink over LA traffic. The Union Station is extra pretty for Christmas time.
Mike Walker
Beautiful old train station. Was there at 6am, and seemed fairly safe. It's a bit dark at that hour so there were a couple times it seemed a little creepy, but all in all, a good experience.
Mick Calarco
I love visiting Union Station and wandering the walkways and remembering the days of grand travel by train. This is an especially beautiful building, and has been thoughtfully restored. It really is something to see . . . the vast ceilings and chandeliers, tickets booths, woodwork and tile. You could spend hours exploring if you like this type of thing. Also, there is a small convenience store, restaurants and restrooms. Just across the street is the old Pueblo and Olvera Street. Take time to find the secluded outdoor courtyard and admire the fountains.
Kathryn Outman
I passed through here as I took the LAX Flyaway to and from LAX. Saved my family a lot of time on the highway 😊.
It was clean, staff helpful, didn't eat here or use the restroom.
Flash Ryan
I got lost. That's not a difficult thing for me, but it says that the station navigation is not idiot-proof.
Utterly spotless and safe, though.
Monica
Staff was very helpful, made it easy to travel. Arrive early if you can, about 30 minutes prior to departure
Brian Lopez
Arrived on the Amtrak. From the train to LAX flyaway, about 10 min. Easy and smooth ride to LAX. Would recommend!
Nicolas Ruiz Pedroza
Love this place! I did not the shuttle to Ontario is not working on Sunday and also there was a dodgers game and it was such a crowded there but everything allright. People working in there is so helpful! I was loooking for something was not in service and they explained me how to take the bus to Ontario Airport. Sadly I did not take pictures because I was kind of late
Victor Monterrozo
Loved the original architecture and the staff was friendly and ready to help. Loved the built in chess boards on the tables. Burgers were good. Beer was good. Would of Loved to taste a double IPA but they didn't have one. They play the Dodger games! Gave it 4 stars because you have to compete with everyone else that is looking for parking because it is an actual busy train station. Parking lot is not free.
Sonja Petrovic
The station is beautiful but it's full of homeless people. Very sad...
Jose Manuel Renteria Cabral
I've never been here and when was my first time, it was really nice. I loved this station.
Jim Kara
A great place to go on the transitions between the rail services, with time pending for a food and restroom stop.
Here I’ve arrived on the Metro-Link and transferred to the Metro Red Line, or the Metro Gold Line to the Metro Purple Line. Since the latter doesn’t have restrooms onboard, I’ll use the facilities at Union Station before moving on.
Union Station is one of the most famous stations in the country, if not the world!
It’s been the site of many productions, including the 2021 Oscars!
The classic design is a treasure among stations. Keeping in sync with the historic El Pueblo, across N Alameda Street to the north, this station is embellished in eye pleasing detail for weary travelers!
There’s a couple of places to eat fast food while at the station, and if Mexican food is desired, then a longer stop may be needed to cross over to Olvera Street.
I think the advance preparation of packing a lunch, sure helps to keep a tight schedule!
For those who need to park, there’s short-term parking near the front entrance. Loading and unloading may be done quickly out front.
Michelle Windes
Union Station is beautiful downtown LA. I was impressed by the art deco architecture.
Johnny DeNeri
You want to know this city? Bus, train, rail all meet here and go to all significant locations in town. Great place to orientate location if visiting!
Jonathan Ro
I've used LA Union Station for a number of reasons and love the place. The genuine 1930's art-deco is something to behold. Most recently used the underground parking for a few days to take the Flyaway Bus to LAX. If you do use their parking for more than a couple of days, they request that you fill out and submit a form to their parking management so that they know why your car will be sitting idly underground for so long. (The form is available online.) Seems like a very reasonable request in this age of heightened security.
Alexander “LEX” Smith
Traxx is such a classic ResTaurant. Good drinks with a happy hour menu in Union Station. Glad they reVived it. 🍻🍻🍻 …
Tejas Sawant™
I love this station. I stopped here a lot of time. The station structure is so ancient and Amazing. The best part is the Piano placed inside, is surprising to hear from passing by commuters. I wanna play one day. I love taking a walk outside to Mexican street and dance with the community 🕺💃 …
Damien Younger
Awesome hub and historic site. Friendly and knowledgeable staff all around- if they don't know where what you need is, they know who will and will point you in the right direction.
Nathaniel Keck
Very spacious and clean for a place of such high traffic. Everything is easy to find once you become oriented. Kiosks are clearly labeled and easily identifiable. Security is plentiful and helpful. The architecture has an old cinematic vibe, and the parking is plentiful across the street at the garage.
dennis rocklein
I have been here many times over the years. Did not get above ground level after exiting the train on this trip. This is truly an historic building and if you like trains and train stuff it would be fun to explore every passageway. It is hard to believe that the grand walkway through to all of the train tracks is as old as it is. And when you get way to the back there is the entry to the underground which is something else and from a much later time period.
Dan C
Beautiful building and grounds. Classic architectural delight in the city of angels. Stopped in and found parking with ease. The staff is helpful with directions or suggestions for routes to the city. Interior was clean and spacious. Some parts still blocked off, there is enough room to explore areas. Recommend in L.A.
S Gordon
Loved how they cordoned off waiting room space so that only ticketed passengers could be there. All of the people were LITERALLY THE NICEST people I've run into when traveling. Clean spaces, beautiful art deco design, doesn't stink of urine, and almost felt like a historical experience.

#Lots going on... Except for a single #NonProfit #Organization #Open 24/7 & #OnSite 24/7 to help the #Meek #Lost and #Poor from the #Cold #Weather #CA #faces this #Week...
Milton Cabrera
It functions perfectly as a transit hub. But the biggest issue is the large homeless population located both on site and on their rail lines. The place is starting to look run down and dated. The smell can be horrendous at times. Police are on site and helps control the homeless population. But they need to control entry onto the building itself because the gates just before the loading platforms are easily bypassed. Be careful while you are here as well. Patrons have been injured or killed by the homeless population. Lastly, I have seen drug use, smoking and even dead homeless on their rails / boarding platforms.
Jose Rdz
I have yet to be disappointed by the cleanliness and security of Union Station. Had a place to sit while you wait and you can easily find the bus you're trying to take. Also, it is very easy to get the Flyaway to LAX.
JP STONE
Nice train station Amtrak long distance trains end and begin here. Local bus and trains are also available here and union Station. Beware of the homeless they aggressively panhandle. Large police presence and may get crowded during rush hours.
Retina Shaw
Took the Flyaway bus from LAX to connect to the greyhound to head to Bakersfield. Great historic scenery! Not very many options to eat. There were lots of security and police which made it full more safe. I do plan on coming back to explore during the daytime, to get the full experience
Eric Rogers
Very awesome place very clean. Staff very nice and friendly
regina alves
Very good place, the crew very friendly and you can Take bus straight tô the Airport or traindo for a Lot of places!there are a restaurants too!
Erik Kuris
Love the train over the drive... The station has all the amenities you need. I often stop in the corner store before the tunnel to pickup a bite for the train. The rustic charm and clean environment are super welcoming.
賈桂林
I’ve heard that Union Station used to be a mess. But there are a lot of securities here now, you don’t need to be worried even at night.
Lupita Melendez
Nice place; there’s parking & food courts inside of the train station, there’s a restroom as well
James Schock
Beautiful open air train terminal. Great service, everything good, bustling with activity. Only negative they were filming a movie outside the day I was there which added to congestion and confusion when dropping off passengers or parking.
Omar Jay
Nice place during the day, but it can get weird at night. I got in on a late night train, and it turns out that they close between 1 and 4 AM. I think it's to stop homeless people from camping out there, but it creates a problem for people meeting connections and waiting for other places to open.
There were a group of us huddled near the entrance waiting to get in, amongst homeless people talking to themselves, getting aggressive, and polluting the air with toxic cigarette smoke.
LA really needs to do something about its homeless problem. They have an increasingly awesome public transit system, but it's being destroyed by transients.
Yolanda Valles-Valdez
I traveled from Santa Barbara to the Union Station to go see the Dodgers. Olvera Street across from the station is a great place to check out. Good food and shopping. Sunday there was music in the plaza and Baptisms going on. Great way to do a day/overnight trip to see the Dodgers.
James Laney
Had a free roundtrip ticket 🎫, So I just to a trip up north. I always wanted to see the beautiful coastal view along with the amazing mountainside that California has to share with the people. I must say that it's beautiful and the ride up was just joyful can't wait to see it again on the way back home 🏡.
abraham gutierrez
A beautiful spot. People watch, hangout out of the sun or if you are heading to a dodger game, parking is half the price than the ballpark. The get you up there in 15 minutes and when leaving maybe alittle longer but the ability to be out of the exit traffic is well worth it.. parking is 16 bucks..
Cynthia Kresock
Beautiful place. At the end of a 3-day journey
Cynthia Garcia
It's nice and has been cleaned up immensely however this place could use some more security because their was a guy with a visible gun on his hip threatening another person over something gang related. The elevators need deep cleaning as they smell like pee and their was visible pee and toilet paper on the corner floor of the elevator.
Emma Rose
Visited on a recommendation from a friend and loved it! Parking was easy on the street and the station is beautiful. The artwork is amazing and it’s a fun place to visit if you’re killing some time downtown.
Sheila Renee
A home away from home. This place would be the tops if what landed here didn't have to be pushed out and treated like rubbish until another way to transport came along. Many times traveling at night I get stuck at the Union Station. It has had improvements with the staff's attitude. And the bathrooms seem to be somewhat cleaner. Only what would give good cause to push a woman traveling at night alone out into the cold because I wasn't traveling with Amtrak that evening? Scars the streets of LA have left me with ushered me to consult with an awaiting Taxi about fare? Double the price of the Uber that I opted for. Not my night or just plan better?
Adora
Union Station is the main hub for transport in LA. The place is generally kept clean and they have bathrooms as well as several restaurants including a Starbucks. They also have a general store. The heavy rails come through as does the light rail. The buses come through and the Flyaway buses too. Great way to get to Dodger Stadium and avoid the traffic. They have metro police stationed there. There are unhoused individuals who come through but generally there aren't any issues.
Michelle Moore
So far this so fun!!!
I'm so excited that I'm pretty sure the rest of the trip will be just as amazing.
There's nothing like walking into LA Union Station. It's beautiful. A piece of History.
Nicole Castorena
Beautiful building that transports you back to 1939. As far as California goes, it is one of our few historical treasures. Just make sure you are aware of your surroundings and remain alert.
Me Fooh
It was a simple and fluid process. Plenty of space. A few restaurants and coffee shop. Comfortable seating for anyone with a ticket. Beautiful building and live piano for ambiance.
Sticky Lips
This is a fun station!
There is alot to do and see!
Watching the people moving around is really tops!
Cassandra Heredia
Great art deco design building- really lovely. Sufficient security and staff to help when you have a question. A handful of concessions and convenience store if you want a quick bite or coffee. One vintage bar and restaurant- both called Traxx - at the west entrance. Not a lot of parking on the west side of the station, though, which is where Google instructed me to enter. Better to approach from the east on Vignes, both for passenger loading zones and parking.
Shumaila Sheikh
happy to go place but not in late hours of night as there are many homeless people who made this place scary to me. I was there at night around 11 pm. The subway only had homeless passengers and me, Just need to be more watchful there at nights
H M
the crackheads in this station were nice.
there was also a public piano. i havent played in a long time so i tried it out.
Holden Wilbur
I love Union Station. The familiar smell of pee, cigarettes and weed combined with a whole assortment of random people wandering makes it a very enjoyable place. I always feel at home here.
chiquita Ruiz
Was during Xmas the decorations inside it’s beautiful but i don’t have photos. Anyways we visit third place to get the train to Long beach a small adventure trip with my kids. I didn’t wanted to drive and do it fast i wanted for us to bond and enjoy the ride which we did so much worth it
justin spencer
The station itself is big with a few food options and easy access to busses or the lot to be picked up/dropped off. The staff are very helpful in directing you around when you need it. I was able to take the metrolink using the free ticket promo which save me having to pay $19 for a roundtrip adult ticket. And a tip for those who don't know- the promo codes for the free tickets have to be claimed by a certain date but once you claim them, you'll have another month to use them.
Lin Cheng
If you're looking for a central location to stay in close to Downtown LA, then Los Angeles Union Station is the place for you. Although it can be confusing to find your train, it's worth getting there early to explore the resting area which is full of historical impressions. There are convenient stores within the station where you can purchase food, and there are also parking facilities close by if you need them.
Scott Reimers
Bathrooms were filthy. But I was impressed with all the security staff and information guides. I felt very safe. The architecture is outstanding.
Jay Morra
I have to give a whole lot of credit to MTA because you're doing amazing job keeping the atmosphere and ambiance of Union station in spite of the tremendous amount of homeless who utilize the station daily. This is a station for everyone homeless or not. Thank you MTA for understanding not only understanding the daily needs of daily commuters but the less fortunate as well.
Gena Moya
This iconic building is just as beautiful as it was in its heyday. There's restaurants , coffee shop, convenient store and probably more I just didn't see it all. If it's transportation your looking for it's here. Trains, metro, and busses going to the airport and many more locations. Across the street is Olvera Street with history posted everywhere including history of Union Station.
Sapat Lang
Very nice historical building. Very accessible to metro train. parking available. Walking distance to Dt LA China town. Can find Starbucks & Wetzel’s inside. Some homeless people. Hallways are huge. Super high ceilings. Where Batman movie was filmed.
Ms. H
Beautiful architecture just as I remembered traveling there decades ago. The directions are clear and it is easy to get around. Wish the place was more frequently cleaned up though.
Patrick Walsh
Highly recommend traveling by train into Los Angeles. Once at Union Station tourist, sports fans, commuters, or just normal city goers can use Union Station as a centralized hub to be the nexus of their exploration of this historical city.
There is an express bus route that will take you to dodger stadium from Union Station and soon there will be an aerial 🚡 tram that will be the most renewable self sufficient and zero carbon way to go to and from dodger stadium. Cannot wait to see the Aerial 🚡 view from the tram.
Good luck in your travels and take lots of pictures. See ya around.
~Nice Talkin ToYa

Very efficient travel hub from what I seen on the pass through my
Alexis Lawson
Travel on the train depends on the conductors and if there are any rail delays. Butfor the most part its the best way to travel for work or anything else. Union station is pretty much the same 1 day its quiet and the next there's all havoc
Darien Chase
Beautiful architecture and clean wait area. The constant presence of security makes you feel safe. Plus food court has assorted choices.
Alicia Peterson
Absolutely beautiful building! No comfortable place to nap in between connecting trips. Be very careful going outside of building for whatever reasons ESPECIALLY AT NIGHT ! Security is pretty awesome though !
Desi Monique
I think it's beautiful here and it's how I get everywhere but just so people know there is a lot of homeless around. I don't mind since I was in there shoes once but just be careful
Abbie Girl
Surprisingly nice station. They preserved the old architecture and also have a karge, well maintained garden. There are several nice shops and restaurants in the station as well. Not the dingy Amtrak station I thought it would be. I only wish it was in a more accessible part of town, but that just depends on where you live. Perfect location if you're in downtown LA!
Chef Zepol
This place is a maze did not expect so many routes trying to get back to the same spot. Sorry I don't t have a better picture its from inside.
Charlie K
Cool alternative parking instead of Dodgers Stadium
David Reilly
They arrived right on time as scheduled and were so polite and friendly. These guys did an amazing job cleaning the ducts. I’m very happy with their service.
Mitch Fredricks
Beautiful architectural structure, but watch your belongings! There are many homeless people in LA with no place else to go and rest indoors. At least they can get out of the weather in the station.
Joe Gomez
My favorite all inclusive transit center in the US. Whether local on nationally however you need to travel here's the place to go. Clean facilities as well.
Paul Hensler
Union Station in Los Angeles is a beautiful historic building inside and outside. If you know that you’re going to be traveling through Union Station L.A. and you enjoy historical buildings make it a point of allowing yourself some extra time to walk around Union Station inside and outside. When you get to the main room that is used for waiting on connecting Amtrak trains along with local trains like Metrolink. You will feel like you have been transferred back in time.
Binoy Ouseph
Excellent service
Good staff and very helpful
Viktor Castellanos
Really big Place! So if you going to the Greyhounds Booth you better walk fast cause it's at the very back of the station at the end of a very very large tunnel on right side next to the restrooms
Danny Han
It's not uncomfortable to pick up and it's so easy to take you to the station. The interior of the building is also very good for its historical value.
Michael T. Ross
I have been coming here most of my adult life. I love playing the piano while I wait for the Amtrak. Sometimes, I take Greyhound, but I also use MegaBus. The property is always kept up nice and there is really tight security, which I like, because I feel safe here. There are a few good choices of food, and they have a Starbucks, which is awesome. Thr place is pretty spotless for all the traffic they get. And the staff are always super nice.
Stephen
What an incredible art deco architecture in this train station!
The moment you enter is like stepping back in time, the atmosphere is lovely here.
What made it even more special was the piano where just a random man was playing beautifully on.
Clear signalization in the station everywhere. Loved being here!
Federico Cubas
It is a really nice place and although there are a lot of homeless people inside and walking around, it felt pretty safe.
Robert Bee
My experience here was good there's restrooms food services and bag check in so you can explore Los Angeles without having to worry about taking you luggage with you
Morris WEI
Union station in Los Angles is a classical structure. It’s easy to find that this station usually becomes movie scene in many Hollywood movies. Sanitation inside the building is really comfortable and clean. Walking on the corridor, I feel I was an actor in the movie (just kidding 😆).
- I took the Amtrak from Union station to Santa Fe station (San Diego). The view on the way was really beautiful. On the train, the function of USB hole was really convenient for me.
Bryan Almazan
Honestly an iconic place in LA. Well organized. Until you get to the subways they stink and cleanliness is subpar. But hey it’s LA
Bree Adnerb
The union station was cool. It was about $7 for parking. They have a couple of convenient stores and restaurants inside.
Nicki Cohrs
Great station, friendly people, excellent service. Nice 1.-class-lounge for travelers in a sleeper.
Sonny Soto
I love this beautiful historic building. The architecture and craftsmanship just blows my mind. It's just beautiful. It's just another one of those magical places that transports you to another time and place.
Estrella Lucero
Over all is good love the structure. But has a bad smells inside and lots of homeless people surround the area.
Steven Price
I like union station,it's always interesting the different types of people going in so many different directions..plus it's authentic and old school...
Doug Webster
The main part of the station looks great since its renovation and is a fascinating window into the past. And the station as a whole is still working very practically to provide transportation to thousands daily.
CHAD
Very cool place. Very easy to navigate around. I recommend visiting either for travel or leisure.
Crystal- imasajez- Massage Therapist
The place is nice you purchase your own tickets, but the metrolink is dirty bathroom dirty it wouldn’t flush because they stuffed it with toilet seat covers i really don’t think its covid conscious.
Christopher Gorrie
I often pass through Union Station when I come to LA. I’m from San Diego, so the Amtrak goes straight here. The Flyaway shuttle service to LAX from Union Station is awesome as well.
Union Station is a historic building that is aesthetically beautiful. The hallways and waiting areas still hold the splendor of a bygone era. The station connects to almost anywhere in California and beyond.
There’s something of a homeless presence, but hey, it’s a stone’s throw from downtown LA, and CA’s in the midst of an ongoing housing crisis. Another perk of the station is its good assortment of food stops.
Wi-Fi suggestion — avoid paying $1.99 for an hour of Wi-Fi at Union Station by sitting in the departures lounge (near the grand piano) and using the Amtrak Wi-Fi for free.
P.S. — the Subway sandwich shop here is exceptionally clean and good.
Sergio Zermeno
L.A. Union Ststion is a historic and land mark in L.A. Everyday people come to Union Station to get the Amtrac or the metro daily. They landmark have been in movies, commercial and other things.
Monika Armendariz
I took Great Photos. I went to pick up a girlfriend. I hope u like the photos
Charitha Sathkumara
Easy access to the Dodger Game for cheap. Park in the secure underground structure, then walk through the station to the Dodger Stadium Express bus out front of the main entrance. Buses get a dedicated lane up to the stadium instead of sitting in a long line of cars to get to the stadium parking. Bus is free, and parking is about <$10. No one actually checks whether you have a game day ticket
Catakang Games
Pretty cool train station. Had big windows and a cool ceiling.
Albert Rodriguez
It wasn't crowded, but I hear it does get crowded during peak hours. For some reason there was a nice smell throughout the station? It's wierd to say but I feel it made my experience more pleasant. It's very beautiful, it seems like everything's been preserved from since the station was first built.
Noé Pérez
It's okay. Went with my wife on a weekend date to go see LAFC v Seattle. We took the Amtrak from Hanford to LA. Well... we won't be doing that again. The train was nice, we enjoyed it. What was not pleasant was the bus from Bakersfield to LA, and the bus from LA to Bakersfield. The bus was not comfy. The train itself was decent.
Union Station was decent, and it's good.
Manuel Velazquez
Historical, and a great way to reaching San Diego from LA - the coastline views are priceless.
Pam Gilard
The bus to Los Angeles was late due to unruly passengers. After the bus arrived, no help was available to assist me. I'm a Senior with disabilities. No help arrived to get me to the lounge. Went via elevator. I deserve better service, after all I am a paying passenger. Better is needed.
Jack Morris
Great place but has it’s problems…homeless and streetpeople abound but for the most part bother no one. Lots of LAPD officers and security and you have to show a ticket to use the editing area but it’s still a cool station… lots of ambiance…
Joe mama
Best Transportation Hub in the world.
Catch the Metro bus and transfer on to a Metrolink in minutes!
Love history and film? This place has a ton of history and has been in many films we’ve seen today.
They allow you to explore to your content.
They even have walk through history tours sometimes! Wish they would bring the metro one back..
Anyway, I love this place. Yeah sometimes it has its moments but that’s with any where.
If you are a traveler and need quick access to public transportation… Union Station has it ALL
Tommy Uy
Our stop on our way to Tehachapi California by scenic train ride. A little choice of food variety but subway it is. A good fenced sitting area for passengers with ticket.
Inc Magazine
Nostalgia. A venue our WW2 soldiers passed through while on leave or on their way overseas.
Daniel Cheung
I took the Amtrak from San Diego to the Los Angeles Union Station. One of the smoothest ride and the staff on board was very informative.
Arrived at Union Station at a timely manner. The station is highly maintained. Clean and very safe. The security is active on duty; ensuring there were no loitering. Restroom is maintained and clean. The connecting rides showed no delay.
Would definitely recommend to any friend and family. Definitely would travel to this station as often as I am able.
Jeff Chávez
My travel began with a pleasant, helpful hand here. There were no hassles or headaches of Any kind. Wow! What a difference, especially in the last five years. It's been cleaned up in every way.
Arthur Chavez
It's awesome to be able to witness such a great piece of history.. that still caters to the city itself. I love Union Station. You get it all.. the feel of the city.
Leticia Gonzalez
Such a beautiful building. Definitely a place to visit while in L.A. there's restaurants, coffee shops, convenience stores. And connections to Metro, Amtrak, local buses, Flyaway to the airport bus & Metrolink line.
Rafy V
Historic building. Rode the surf liner Amtrak from LA to San Diego to celebrate my birthday. What an experience. So far all aspects have been positive
Lionel Martinez
I've been riding Metrolink ever since I was a little kid. Definitely it's different now than back then. You got Subway , Starbucks , wetzel's pretzel. Got more security around. Helpful security guards..
Monique Mena
This place is beautiful. The restrooms are usually well kept but there are many homeless/mentally ill/cracked-out ppl that roam around this place. Security is present but doesnt do much. Some crackish female stole my son's Dodgers cap right off his head and security saw her filthy self with his crisp, clean hat, but basically just brushed him off and then brushed me off with a ' sorry'. We catch the Dodgers bus here and sometimes we ride the metrolink. Don't leave your stuff unattended and carry pepper spray.
Yuri Rangel
Easy way to travel and if your train is not going out for a while you get to relax in the waiting area. You may bring ypur iwn food or buy something from their convenience market or Subway or Pretzel place
Raymundo Baca
I've always used amtrack and I will always use the train . Although there is a bus transfer in Bakersfield I still injoy the ride and all the people that work so hard to make my trip as injoyable thank you always there if I have questions or concerns 5 stars amtrack . Stay safe thru-out this pandemic COVID-19 and thank again for all your hard work and making my travel safe . Love you all !
Rico
Not much to say.
Just arrive early and purchase your ticket in advance.
Behzad Taimur
There are many Union Stations all over the US. While each has its own quality, they all look quite alike in terms of architecture and design style. However, this one is really unique. It truly blends Mexican architectural aesthetic with American. It's not all that big. But it's worth your time! Go for it. Check out especially its interiors and the wooden roof.
Carlos Martinez
It's a very nice preserved historic place,a couple of places for a good drink and food. Usually I park here to go to Dodger stadium it's way cheaper, down side too many people with mental problems.
Stu Utley
Who's a fun experience. Very clean helpful people the trains ran on time
Francisco Guzman
Convenient schedules and lots of information around. They have a small food court and a nice lobby in case you have to wait for a while for your ride. Secure and clean.
Y C
It feels like your walking into an old movie set on a black and white movie. It's a beautiful place. Would be great venue for a small wedding.
Cristina DiCapua
Union Station is a MUST when visiting Los Angeles. It is next to L.A.’s oldest street. (Another review later on) It is of a South Western Art Deco design and it is beautiful. You may get to hear live music on the open forum piano or by chance attend a Donut Festival. The best is getting a coffee and hanging just outside the main area.
b3 w3
I went on the Metrolink to Fullerton then took Lyft to Huntington Beach Pier to see the Pacific Airshow September 30 Oct02,2022.
Metrolink weekend day pass=$10
Air Show General Admission seating =$25
John Olson
This was a perfect night of dancing and entertainment at The UNCORKED WINE FESTIVAL !!!!! What A GREAT TIME HAD BY ALL! Hope its at the same location NEXT YEAR!, it was so RETRO COOL!!!!
Chele Willow
No wait as we were transferred directly to the train by redcap! (The train was late) If you can, I highly recommend purchasing the redcap option. They are lifesavers!
Sandra Moreno
This place is beautiful! Lots of history here. Buses and trains are very close together. Easy to make connections.
Joey Benghiat
Attended a friend's 25th wedding vows celebration. 1st time there. Interesting place.
Jerry Gutierrez
Typical train station. You go, buy your tickets to where your traveling to and you get on the train and go. There are several options they provide to get to your destination. If you feel up for an electric bike ride, they got bicycles to rent, for like dirt cheap. I mean it's the same price as taking the metro bus or rail. And they f
Give you 30 mins at a time to get where you gotta get. I personally think it's fun and a great way to get around the city.(especially cuz parking is just terrible any where in Los Angeles really.
But be careful if you feel real adventurous and decide to ride one the many electric scooters that are everywhere. I sat this because no matter how experienced or comfortable you are with riding one, take it from me....I caught some major speed going down this street that was downhill and in the middle of the street right in the intersection, I totally biffed it and fell hard onto the pavement hard. Scraped my face all up and cuts on each knee and was a bloody mess.
I got up picked up the scooter and. Limped off walking. Do you think anyone asked if I was ok or maybe needed medical attention? No they didn't. And I continued forward to my destination with happened to be fontana, ca.
Ok. I'm JAe, that's Mt story, and I'm sticking to it. Thx.
preshus paige
Very clean. Signs for trains all over, staff was very helpful when lost.
Ricky
Union station has fond memories for me since childhood but as an adult I traveled Amtrak to the Central valley and back so many times I just love the nostalgic feeling again when I return to Union station and olvera Street
Chris MYOB
Clean facilities and friendly staff. Only complaint would be the pan handlers outside begging for money, which I know isn't amtraks fault but the democratic nonsense occurring in the US.
Tim Dunn
Beautiful historic structure magnificently preserved and restored. Amtrak lounge in second floor very comfortable, roomy, and cozy.
Art Torres
Taking the train is a great way to beat the traffic Union Station well kept great pizza by the slice or order a small pizza great experience walking distance from Olvera Street or Chinatown take a train take an adventure have a great day Norwalk Raider out
Snuggle Bunny1981
A little confusing on how to get to the bus station from the train station even though they are in the same building.
Update: Second time being in the station was easier then the first. Brought my family this time around and they loved it.
Alexandria Lee
Well kept, clean with helpful staff. The architecture is beautiful.
Nina F.
Got here to go see the Dodgers on Saturday! Great way to get to the stadium and not have to deal with parking! MTA free shuttle!!!
Wendy Smyth
Took the train to Downtown LA to catch a comedy show. Nice sitting area to wait for the train and some coffee and food options, although limited.
Honey
Be very cautious when traveling. There’s a lot of homeless that wander around and in the vicinity. Security does their best but it’s pretty bad.
Jamie Marie Davis (Sweet Marie)
Great Transit hub. Instead of taking the train to Anaheim I took the FlixFlyer Bus to Arctic Regional Anaheim and wasn't surprised...although the MotorCoach was 40 minutes late still a smooth ride and no traffic in Anaheim.
Edward Teitel
Historic architectural building, handling all the transportation needs for those who don’t want to handle the LA traffic . Convenient for Downtown LA or Santa Monica, Hollywood or Oceanside, Orange County or the Valleys. Great hub for Metrolink and Amtrak .
Karen Ward
Beautiful place! Has a 1950s vibe but new and clean.
Sohail Chaudhry
I went there while it was closed and went to embrace the architecture. This place is iconic and beautifully designed inside and out. The inside reminded of the Union Station in New Haven. The court yard was very tranquil and refreshing touch of nature in an otherwise green-less city.
Rajshekar Sadasivan
Historic Station well managed .. Here to ride T14 on the beautiful and scenic route from Los Angeles to San Jose in the Golden State of California
Colin Langham-Fitt
A real surprise. Wonderfully preserved opulence from a by gone era a true 20s vibe. Well worth a look for anyone interested in the preplastic age.
Bobby Bates
People made sure wife and I were safe while on a long layover
Dave (AffectionateScar)
Beautiful place, well run and clean. Metro prices are very reasonable. Olivera market is right across the street!
Eric Efraimson
Crowded & a little overwhelming for new visitors to the station. Signage could be clearer & more understandable. Metropolitan Club isn't anything to write home about. It's small and dengue. Good news is that it will be going through renovations & updating soon.
Jitu Rajgor
Beautiful station with transit facility at one place. Very near to downtown LA. Food and resting chair, washroom available.
Tom Sanches
Horrible place. The station building as itself it's an architectural landmark, but that's the only thing. It's a place I just go if I really need once it's full of crazy ppl. It's dirty and it stinks!
Jackie Thomas
All good except for the sitting area. Blocking the area to keep the homeless from sitting down. Could there be another solution?
Tiffany
They really try to keep it clean. And The inside really is. I just suggest that you buddy up with someone when you visit. When you're outside waiting for the buses.
Deni Parks
Parking has always been very easy and it wasn't crowded inside... Did not see the amount of homeless this time but it wasn't raining either
MrSouthernman73
One of the last railroad stations still in use from the golden age of railroad. Well kept and clean.
Luis Abascal
Good place to catch a train, security is good very nice place. Also good venue for concerts and events.
Carlos Arredondo
Beautiful station with disgusting restrooms.. it's quite embarrassing how awful they are. Not the safest place to be at night either.
S. Woodard
Nice station to transfer out of. Good security at the station.the employees were very helpful.
Jesus Jaime (Jebuz)
Pretty, no drinking fountains that work. Large. Arrive earlier than you'd think or you'll be late.
Traphicc “Traphicc” Jam
My only issue was finding the Bus Plaza. A name that was ultimately learned when I finally made it through the vast corridor leading up to it! On time!
Alicia Rufus
Been a Los Angeles native for about 40 years. Love the metro system, but my train ride today was not great. The cleanliness of the trains was horrible. They need servicing to be cleaned and sanitized. I say this with love, not a negative intent🙂. …
Wayne F
Not very handicapped user friendly no wheelchair accessibility or assistance bring your own or none
Maha Hassan
Very beautiful train station 😍 …
Mary Bray
Old historic transit center. Clean, visible security presence👍!! Noticed newer digital wall info re: rail departures. Several notification signs through out the station. A few food / coffee choices + small convenience store. Easy to get around, felt safe🙂!! …
Verna
Was at Union Station picking up a friend. The incoming train was late and the staff were very helpful in making me feel comfortable while I waited. Nice clean environment with various eating establishments.
J Beal
Beautiful building, easy connections via bus or train, area has amenities within walking distance.
Berthania Carswell
I LOVE the building architecture. Big and warm and welcoming.
Thomas Hughes
Once you get the layout, it's well laid out and ready to navigate. That Amtrak connects makes longer distant travel easy.
If you're in town for a few days, load a tap card with a daily pass
Norma Morales
Such a beautiful place!
Palm Trees to Skyscrapers
Gorgeous building. Easy to maneuver for trains and buses. Friendly staff
William Niver
I never had a reason to go here until quite recently and have had to learn the bus/train/subway system on the fly. The employees here have been hugely helpful, the process is easily understandable, and the convenience a blessing. There are several food options from pretzel stands to upscale Traxx (and a bar!), all in a fine architectural setting. A good place to know and use.
Traveler
Feels like you're going back in time when you walk through this historical station. Stay on-guard and keep your belongings visible - criminal opportunists abound here!
Latrice Jackson
It's Union station what more can I say. There's plenty of parking. Plenty of security officers there to make you feel safe. And some reasonable food options cafe's, wetzel pretzel, a convenience store, and a Starbucks.
Delphina Fina Martinez
It's getting better but it's still full of homeless people. The long hall to walk to trains smells of urine, security is either chit chatting with each other or just standing around doing nothing..
Felipe Andrade
This place is beautiful, however, yeah... It's in LA and the ghetto come out to play.
foods enplacez
If it can add an interactive bus route panel touchscreen monitor to easily see the routes in every entrance of the station. That will be a big help for the travelers. Otherwise the place is clean except for the Downstairs LA routes.
Rohun Dahaley
Amazing railway station, well maintained .. beautiful British architecture well preserved!
Kyle Zobel
Beautiful classic mid century station. Might consider including some signs that show how to get tickets for the metro
Alex Chavez
Los Angeles very own train and transportation center. Union Station has been in the forefront of this great city since the 1930's and a landmark of the west coast.
Maddy Paddy
I just love coming here for connections to subways, light rail, commuter rail and Amtrak trains. Go to almost anywhere in and around Los Angeles. From here buses go to Vegas. There are restaurants and eating places too.
Pavel Vasilyev
gets very sketchy at night, but generally well kept and very convenient as a transit center
Sailor Pahl
Beautiful station and nicely maintained and easy to navigate.
Kimbo Blanco
Interesting place, you can feel the history there..I enjoyed myself...places to kick it while waiting for train as well as places to eat inside.. and gift stands as well..I would recommend a better concierge type service...I was darn near late because I knew nothing about location and boy is this place big.Yeah, better signage for where to find assistance. Many people asked me questions because I look like a seasoned train passenger, but had no idea myself.
Sheilah Tripp
Try as they might, Union Station is just gross. They keep the undesirables out of the restaurant and leather chair areas but it's still Los Angeles and it's still disgusting!
Andy Celestino
La union station is always great! So beautiful.
Saramay Benavides
I didn't travel anywhere, I was just there for the Oscars and wanted a sneak peek at some movie stars❤
ROY TREVINO
So neat to see that care is taken in for this facility. Busy place and very interesting.
Karen
Central location. Convenient. Parking can get full. Usually clean.
Randal Tamayei
DTLA transit hub...across the street from historic Olivera Street and Chinatown..Metro trains/Redline subway and Bus Station...will take you anywhere in the Los Angeles area
Add a little Uber for that last mile and enjoy/experience the Big City...life
Rebecca Sorensen
So gorgeous inside! And I love the bar. The bartender is so friendly and made me a special mocktail.
Violeta Mata
Is a great place to be, travel so secure.
Gus Gus
Quite clean station and security staff always ready to offer information to all travellers
J. Day
Hats off to all the employees of this place.Very cool train/bus stop in Los Angeles! It's a must when travelling through.Great starting point for inexpensive travel in California.Very efficient and for the most part very safe
Jonathan Neal
The largest train station in the western U.S., it’s a beautiful mixture of art-deco and Spanish-tile architecture. It feels like a museum, yet it’s a thriving railroad depot, serving subway lines, commuter trains, and interstate Amtrak lines. This is one of the greatest public spaces LA has to offer, and it’s a true connection to the golden era of Los Angeles.
Tom Windeknecht
A historic piece of art! You feel like you've stepped in to the past. Great place for photographers!
Pascal Wijler
Beautiful historic railway station. Very roomy waiting area.
Tone Harris
Very beautiful station. Have a bit of the homeless coming in and out and the restrooms are very nasty. Overall the building is beautiful!!!!
Frederick Johnson
Its okay but the security that works there wants to try so hard to act like they are real police officers or sheriff deputies and cause unnecessary trouble with the transient population that tries to go through there everyday.
Maricela Marquez Lopez
Been using the MetroLink for yesrs. It's clean reliable and fun to use. Flexible time schedules.
Mark D'Avignon
Very busy like all metropolitan Transit depots... I like it, it is far better than most stations that I've been to even though it is massive movement of people everywhere, but it is still a great place to visit. The Los Angeles Police department is there to serve and protect us as well as being friendly and congenial with all our needs.
George Huang
I feel insecure here, and the restroom is a little dirty, but the staffs here are kind and most of the trains depart on time.
Daniel Ayala
Such a beautiful building inside and out. Unfortunately full of homeless.
Christie Brown
Can't beat taking the train to Los Angeles!!!!
30 minutes from Fullerton Station.. no driving in traffic
李逸翔
Historical place to visit, which is more than a station. The Olvera street nearby is special, too
melanie watson
Very historical and beautiful
Alfred Reyna
It was nicely kept up very historic feeling as soon as you walk in the building.
LOG CABIN
3 stars because it really is scary having all these people getting high like nobody's business,,, in plain view i mentioned it to 4 security guys but didn't move a finger , they approach you asking for money for your celular one of them offered me a baggie probably meth or who knows what i kept walking i am talking EVERYWHERE the police just standing in one specific place laughing ,,, up at the isle where you board the train screaming getting hight literally and there's no control over it i was hoping none of them got crazy and start pushing people to the tracks ,,, sad story really ,,, in regards of the service I'll give them 5 stars once the train is moving ,,, somebody needs to do something about it PLEASE
Louis Lee
Beautiful Historical building. Very nice place.
Gin Yao
It’s beautiful, the station. There are several eateries all well known. Enjoy your stop at the LA Union Station.
Micah McCaul
Very welcoming and helpful staff!
Steven Hanks
It was cool to get off the Amtrak at Union Station!!! I didn't realize how big the place was. Reminded me bit of Sky Harbor Airport, Phoenix, AZ.
Binyamin Radensky
Beautiful historic train station with good connections to the subway and regional rail.
Leticia Gomez
Restroom are clean n I love the Starbucks inside the station
STEVEN MARTINEZ
Great public transportation and a good food center with plenty of options. Just be careful because it gets crowded.
Yareli Olguin
The architecture is really gorgeous; there are some crowds and trash on the actual platforms plus some shady characters hanging around, but there is security present
Libby Baez
As a Lyft driver I will never pick up from this place again. People come here request a pickup and then I wind up with roaches in my car. During the day this place it's just okay but it's big spacious underground parking and parking right in front of the main entrance. I used the main parking lot recently to go to dodger Stadium and request a ride from there to the stadium then from the stadium back. It was totally worth it to pay the maximum for the day which was $16 compared to the stadium charging $30 for prepaid parking. When I paid another Lyft driver to get me to the game and back was worth it compared to what that parking charge was.
Steven Friedrichsen
An iconic LA landmark all decked out. Still a wonderful place to hang out waiting for a commuter train. So much history and lots of film and movie scenes come back...presently many commercials as well.
Lloyd Burns
Due to my train breaking....when the red caps came to the rescue they were great but it took a little while for them to get there
Lawson Lipscombe
It's a loooong walk from the entrance to where you get on the train, so if you're running late add 10 minutes!
mari bowyer
Beautiful building, lots a history behind, very accessible to visit nice places in LA.
Bobbie
The entire station itself is relatively clean, definitely staffed enough, they have a Starbucks and Wetzels Pretzels. With the exception they close the bathroom every 15 minutes (not even kidding) it's a decent spot to have to pass thru daily. Absolutely no outlets though so good luck if your phone dies.
Brandon Hentze
Easy to access spot for Amtrak travel in LA. The station was easy to navigate and a beautiful piece of architecture. Ride share is available at the West (follow the pick-up lane to the right when you exit. The ride share is at the very end of the lane) and East entrances, and your app will ask you which one you are at when you order a ride.
Azhar Gulzar
Its a very big station, Amtrak comes all over the USA
L Snchz
Beautiful architecture. Plenty of parking but expensive. Nice place for sightseeing. Public bathrooms available. Can only sit in lobby if have a boarding pass
Cheryl Blackhawk
Took the Amtrak to Fullerton and took a cat nap while they did the driving. I wasn't alone there were alot of people on the train. I met a nice couple from Australia who are on a traveling tour in the U.S.
Tim V
I am so proud to call LA Union Station a hub to my travels in and out of Downtown Los Angeles. LA Union Station is a safe, beautiful and historical backbone of Southern California.
Brandon
Always a good experience. Especially when racing traffic, riding the train always comes out in first.
Russ W.
Cool architecture and history of the place but it's crawling w bums and lunatics on drugs
Giovanni Stevenson
Nice architecture, poor train service btw
Cindy Hillinger
Didn't actually get inside, our train was delayed and we were taken directly from the first train to our connection.
Steve Wilcox (Steve the Handyman)
Great building from the Franklin D Roosevelt (New Deal Era) 1933-1939
JUAN RAMÓN CASTRO CARRILLO
Very big place, need more organization or personal to attend the crowd because transportation, and clean the area from homeless
Brian Douglas
Very clean facilities. Employees are super helpful. And if you are hungry and have like 15 20 mins. before your train leaves. There's pizza by the slice in the Bodega that's actually pretty good. One slice is like two slices. So you could easily share.
KrossXeYe
Bus stations are clearly labeled, trains are easy access. Clean area, great architecture. The campus of the station is well kept, and the one pizza place works when you need to catch a bus to LAX.
Pablo Sosa
Calif governor.....and Los Angeles Major...and many other places in Calif...can not deal with the homeless
Situation...that they provoke..giving away all this money from taxpayers to all this ..Union Station surrounded by hobos and homeless people..
Rick D
No cost to enter the train station. But a weekend Metrolink pass was $10.00.
ThisGirl IsWeird
Signs are needed! Not nearly enough signage in the terminal or trains themselves. If it weren't for the friendly worker I'm not sure we would have found our train.
Trevor Hogue
Beautiful station with a historic street directly across the road!
Jonathan Clardy
The architecture takes you back to a time when travel by train was the preferred mode of destination transportation.
Haqq Baqq
Could do with more restrooms due to the traffic. Also repairs need to be carried out where the toilet is out of order.
Phil Hopkins
Always a pleasure transferring through here. Today there was an actual line of virtuosos waiting for their opportunity at the piano to make the world a better place.
Pat Becker
Always loved the Union Station. Love the security and how curtious the Amtrak agents are.
Angel Rubio
Best transit place
It has a very vibrant vibe
You can hear locals play the piano daily
Elizabethton8694 Yay
On time every time union station love miss my real ones home sweet home
Daniel Deppa
Went to little Tokyo with my grandson. He had a great time showing grandpa all about the stuff there. Grandpa had a great time too.
Ethan Aleman
I was nervous going into such a big place but it was well posted and lots of employees to help find the ticket machines and the right train
Micheal Cain (Doc)
Beautiful old architecture. Need to run off the homeless and rif raf. Homeless hogging up bathrooms bathing ln the sinks. That place is huge.
Angel Sánchez
It's hectic there it's nice but you'll get lost quick if you are not from there
amy pack
No place to sit while waiting for baggage and took a long time but at least the staff was nice about it.
Carlos Barrena
Used flyaway to lax
Best way to lax less than 10 bucks
Rebecca P
I always like traveling on the train & arriving at this station in LA. Beautifully restored, clean & feels safe. Efficient pick up & drop off lane in front of the building.
Maksudur Rahman
All are very helpful. Neat clean and above all i felt very secured as i saw many police officers are watching
Julio Reyna
Clean and well patrolled. Felt a lot safer in waiting areas.
WA SAWYER JR
I can't say enough good about Amtrak and the station!
Jib Dibb
They have trains and big fancy rooms like I seen in the movies
B Kono
Very interesting architecture. Needs better signs though for the Amtrak lounge location.
David D Delgado
Was there to catch a Train to Anaheim CA on the 10th of October and then to a Bus to Bakersfield CA and then a Train to Fresno CA on the 1st of November
Hoosier Mama
Easy to navigate. Love that there is a piano for anyone to play and tips aren't accepted. We got to hear a really cool rendition of Dance Money by some random person tickling the keys. He was there for quite some time and everyone seemed to be enjoying him.
Sylvia Smothers
The place is.huge. Everyone working for Amtrak and Union station are extremely polite, Knowledgeable and helpful.
Carla Urbaez
My 7 year old son was amazed by this place! Great train experience for him.
Ric Sandoval
I appreciate the effort of revitalizing Union Station, but the homeless problem has to be addressed--especially at night!
Dre Bowen
Transportation hub like none other!
Aman Mital
I wasn't expecting much, but all the Amtrak staff were extremely helpful and polite, answering all my questions and directing me to the right places.
Rosalia Torres
I love my los angeles union station it's beautiful ♥️😍🤩 …
Allison E. Ruley Nickname Alli or Allikatt
Very easy to access a variety of public transportation options. Metro rail lines and silver streak lines are quick and frequent.

I loved the historical features of Union Station. I purchased my ticket online so can't speak regarding customer service there, but the building itself is beautiful. You feel as you've gone back in time to 1939.
Mohammad Ashori
I used to take the train here all the time. Even during the pandemic days it's still bustling and lots of places to sit and chill. There aren't as many cafes here which would have been nice. There is short term parking and long term parking downstairs. It's very scenic if you just want to take a lot of photos and a good place to just walk around in. My favorite ride is from LA to Solana Beach by Amtrak.
Manuel Martinez
Very dope! Looks like the building hasn't changed much which is very beautiful 1950's vibes. Really good brewery next to it too.
David Ponce
Just wish the restrooms did not smell so bad
Andrew Marceau
Easy to find transfer trains, pretty clean, and trains are usually on time.

Due to Garcetti stupid decisions, the homeless can stay there at night and LAPD is barred to enforce the law on the insane, thus lously unarmed security is there now. Poor decisions by the insane woke libral left policies

Underneath the trash and homeless there is amazing history. Sad what the city is turning to they need some help.
Shaun Geddes
This an absolutely beautiful piece of architecture. We stumbled across this gem on the way to a dodgers game. Just catch the subway here and the they gave fan buses that run you to the game. The station itself is very beautiful and worth visiting. Now that we visited we were all thinking of which movies we had seen with the station in it. The beautiful chairs in the waiting lounges top it off.

This is a certain charm to Union Station.
Everytime I pass through it feels like the first.

What an awesome experience! The employees were friendly and super helpful. The attendant in the lounge greeted us with a genuine smile and cheerful spirit and served me with coffee and my children with orange juice and muffins. The driver took us to our train car on a tram and carried our carry-ons inside the train. I would definitely take the train again out of Los Angeles. (Business class/ private room)
Kevin Foster
It's alright. Nothing special if you are just walking through it as most people do. If you have time to kill its not a bad place to wait for a train or a bus.
Dan Hilsdorf
Cross country train trip...classic station
Ramon Torres
Nice big clean place with everything you need inside very good.
gavin mcentee
Fantastic building
Dana in the Lounge is one of the nicest people I have met. I hope I have spelt her name correctly.
Robyn Nixon
Great short term parking right in front to pick up friends whose train might be late
Georgia Mook
It was beautiful and clean and everyone was helpful and polite! It was easy to know where to go and what to expect. Bonus: Slices (the pizza place) was delicious!
Ronda Hydar
Stopped for a drink in the big bar there - good selection of beers, didn't notice the cocktail menu til after or would have tried something. Great music, but a bit loud - might just be cuz I'm old 😂🤣 …
Leonard Andrews
Very big station, lots of cool things to see

Always go here no matter what, Amtrak, gold line, red line. There are restrooms on both ends of this building which are most of the time open 24/7. The mini market/store in this building accept EBT. RIGHT NOW THEY ARE HAVING PEOPLE SIGN UP FOR A FREE 90 DAY TAP CARD IF YOU HAVE EBT, INSURANCE, OR JUST AN ID AT THE CUSTOMER SERVICE CENTER!!. Apply it literally only took me 5 min to do :)
Emiliano Noriega-Petti
I have used this place to travel for years and to park my car when I go to LA. Parking is only $8 for 24 hours and it looks better each year.
Jazmin Shelton
A well preserved landmark! I love the architecture and the fact that the historic Olvera Street is across the way!
Niello Arts
Beautiful place! Today, they had car-photography:)
Delaney Maxine Bailey
Got me where I needed to go and I love the dining options

Homebound is the best craft beer dodger bar. Plus free shuttle to the game!
Brandon Jefferson
Its a metro station with cool architecture but keep your eyes to your self because theres nobody jumping in when a crack head wants to beat your @$$ trust me ive seen it. Oh plus you can buy drugs cheaper than i bottle of water there i think there cheapest bottle water is 3 bucks
Mark Fontanilla
Outstanding Southwest salad at the bar! Menu a little sparse but understandable.
The Irish red was spot on. Great historic venue for sure. A shame more locals don't appreciate it
Hanz Hoffmann
1st time riding the train and union station is beautiful
Lucy Wiatrak
A truly beautiful building. A great adventure for you and your family. My kids love taking the Subway or the train. Again, a real adventure and a beautiful setting.
Larry Yenglin
Beautiful station. Can't wait for the remodel of the complex. Serves Amtrak Coast Starlight, Amtrak Surfliner, Metrolink, Subways. Just great!
Michael Ode Sr
There's a pizza 🍕 place there and the pizza was DELICIOUS they also have great cookies …
Jacy Lee
A beautiful station, just like a library and a landmark here.
Abhishek Jha
It's a beautiful station with british architecture. It's decently connected to the downtown. If you are comming at the night time, u might find homeless people sitting/sleeping in the waiting area, which makes it crowded. Things can get sketchy sometimes at night so try to stay inside the station. You can find police and station staff invigilating the waiting area and verifying tickets of the people occupying seats there, you may approach them in case u need help.
Aakash Gupta
It is quite big and might be a bit confusing at first. It had good food outlets as well. Wetzel Pretzel is probably my favorite.
Miguel Castro
Very nice terminal, just take a stroll and enjoy
DorothyMarie Perez
It served its purpose some staff are great others aren’t homeless population is still bad and nothing ever seems clean
Jemini James
Union station is great it's like stepping back into another era.
Brandy Martinez
There needs to be more people available to help visitors find their way. Other than that its a very beautiful building and makes you wonder how it was when it first opened. How busy it was with all the people vacationing, and dressed all fancy as they once did in the olden days when they traveled.
Patricia Abbott
Not a single outlet to charge your phone. It is clean and kept up, though, so it made it comfortable to wait 4 hours for my train.
Jesus Camberos
I love the structure of the place. An amazing piece of art
Lauren Donahoe
Easiest way to beat LA traffic whether it’s to San Diego or Santa Barbara
Rafael Gallardo
Very nice place but the problem is all the indigents that have make that place their home
David Briones
The epicenter for transportation where u leave your car at home or in there parking structure and get yourself in the subway or train and get yourself around socal
Raymond “Marty” Lopez
My wait was less than five minutes, about 4 minutes before silver ine Bus line came, both trips in my round trip. Perhaps lucky or that's normal? Was hardly no wait. Was Impressive! " Most impressive" voom voom
Daniel “Couch Gangster John”
Security was helpful ; easy to purchase transit tickets and economical transportation to visit many areas of the city
Leah
Took our grandson, 4 to the Halloween festival & had fun
Craig Catimon
My son and I travelled through here daily for his school! We have great memories of all the events over this past year!
Lisa Carreon
Was looking to find my son no luck this place is so big was so surprised
Emile K
Beautiful designed building and a rare station that’s fun to wander through. As other people noted though, there’s a huge number of homeless people in the area. Saw nothing untoward happen.
Range Cow
There are some miserable people hanging out in this place, you really have to take more precautions here than in places like the New York Port Authority. Yet this train station isn't really all that huge, though at first impression it seems gigantic. It isn't any larger than Boston's South Station train section.
There are, as usual, two parts to this place, a waiting area and a train area, the tracks you see assigned to you train while you sit about in the ornate sitting zone.
Erica elaine penley
Subway don't take ebt no more. Lol
Gianna Kelliher
trains come here, and also leave from here. nice work!
Julia Labor
Compared to many other stations I've seen, it's a bit run down, bathrooms are not super clean and there are many homeless people hanging around.
angela perales
It’s a really chill experience honestly my friend and I love taking the train, it’s becoming our favorite form of public transportation.
Fefe
I had a quick visit here at the union station. My experience was a lot more smoother purchasing my tickets through the app rather than dealing with the kiosk at the station. Looked clean and there was plenty of security officers
Tara Bockman
The staff were so kind and helpful to us, we forgot we were still in LA. They have us the rundown right away, about closing time for sundries shop, concessions, restrooms, and where to sit for the next 5 hours to be comfortable, as we were boarding the last ride out, at past 1am.
They even extended this treatment to non-passengers/non-customers. A couple of times over the course of the evening, folks came in wanting to get warm. Station security redirected them without demeaning them, patiently.
Hermosa Mia
Union Station is such a GREAT traveling place they have all kinds of transportation
Red Line Gold line Matrolink Amtrack. And many more. Love taking a nice walk outside. It's so clean the bathrooms are also very clean. Thank you for all your hard work Union Station Employees 🤝👏👏👏👏👏

Deepti Aggarwal
Beautifully constructed...have good food outlets and others things... except the washroom were not that clean.
Kevin Feeney
Pretty lame these days. Restaurants closed. Work being done in main waiting room
Rudy Hernandez
Departured Union Station at 3:30pm. Arrived to LAX at 4:02pm. Smooth ride, was there before I knew it. Highly recommend
Gwen Urey
Some details have gotten harder to see due to access restrictions. The tiles remain apparent.
Jennifer Ramm
Just a beautiful place, with friendly people.
Miss K
Only complaint is the distance between bud and trains is far. They have golf carts but mostly elderly people take them so I felt self conscious even tho I have problems carrying heavy bags.
Daniel Wurzbacher
It’s probably my favorite historic place in LA and I just love taking the train there is nothing cooler than being a gentleman of the rails
Jm Domanay
Went for COVID-19 walk-up testing. Took less than 10 mins. Awesome👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽 …

Collected from a surfliner.
All pleasant.
Normal city stuff.
Kept clean.
Nathan Richardson
Signage is a bit confusing. The building is clean and well lit. Security is present and overall a good experience.
Marie M.
A very beautiful place. Everybody working here are super nice and willing to help you. Special kudos to Ted 🙌 …
Derek Payne
We volunteered to pick up our friends at Union station. We decide to make a day of it. Although union station is nice the surrounding areas are laden with homelessness. Every overpass was and is filled with tents and makeshift shelters. So expect to be asked for money more than a few times. The smell is not very pleasant in the summer as well. It wasn't a matter of feeling safe, it was just hard to see so many people suffering. It may be a choice for a handful but not at these numbers. Sorry for the rant but it's not just LA.
Nico Huizar
Dirty and too many homeless
Security isn't the best
SoRich Vacations
Great Station unfortunately stuck in a not so friendly and not so safe neighborhood. Access from the LAX airport is very easy with LAX FlyAway busses running frequently. Recommend getting tickets for both the Bus and Amtrak online. Almost seamless between the two. However be prepared to walk a bit of a distance to the lounge or the ticket counters or the food court that are usually on the other side of the train Lanes ( a tunnel you pass by below the railway ramps for each line ).
Once inside the building it is usually safe. Private security everywhere. Not sure about LAPD since we did not encounter any. But suspect there are some of those peace officers as well.
On the other main entrance side, after the lounge area, just outside, expect to see homeless walking around, or haggling people yelling and screaming, basically mentally or psychologically ill ones.
Couple points:
1- Lyft or Uber is picking up on the main entrance side past the passenger lounge, if you have to go anywhere. However during LA Dodgers Baseball games there maybe some wait time. And of course surge pricing that is higher. So keep that in mind.
Trains by Amtrak are wonderful points of relaxation with great views during daytime and so are all the staff in the station or the trains.
2- We had at one point left our wallet on one of the leather armchairs in the lounge ( that is open all around but cordoned off and gone to the hotel. Came back in about 40 minutes and the private security guarding, servicing the lounge had given it to lost and found. So we were lucky or the system worked. Kinda to the security guards inside.

Very convenient to rome and find your way, great parking area and well secured great place to visit or be.
Kaynen Shadow
Gorgeous building.
Nichole Rosa
No issues getting on the Surfliner from Old Town, SD to Union Station in LA $35. Took the Flyaway to LAX where I was dropped off at my terminal $9. No issues or delays.
Frank H. Eddy Jr
To spread out not good for the disabled. You don't offer any services that I saw.
Peter Lucas
Looks old and used up. Not quite grubby or dirty, yet. No place to sit and wait. Track number for my train changed after I went up to the landing. Once up there at the wrong track, there is nothing to indicate that you are at the correct (or incorrect) track. Only by luck did I think to go back down to the hallway recheck the track number and discover that I had to walk to a different landing. I could easily have waited for and missed my train.
Adenike Alexander
It was used this day to return my Aunty. She made it home safely as well
Marlon Gill
It's a beautiful structure and always clean and vnviting
blue woos
there are places to get food and souvenirs which is nice and the waiting area is comfortable
