Had my first tattoo done by Grant and can say only amazing things about him and the shop. Positive vibes as soon as you walk in with everyone I talked to being super helpful. Grant designed a killer tattoo and knocked it “out of this world”. His ability to bring my ideas into the design were great. His attention to detail and his care for me while getting the tattoo were greatly appreciated. Grant checked in on my throughout the process making sure I was still feeling good to go. Had some great and funny banter with him and others in the shop, can definitely feel the sense of community in there. Truly appreciate the amazing work Grant gave me and can’t thank him enough!

I had a WONDERFUL tattoo experience at Red Baron. Everyone was super friendly, especially my tattoo artist, Daisy. She met with me a couple weeks before my first appointment to plan out my Turtle tattoo and made a gorgeous design incorporating the mermaid I already had. She was as excited as I was about the tattoo and it was clear she spent a huge amount of time thinking about it and planning it out to make it **perfect**. It was even better than I could have imagined. Daisy also did everything possible to help me feel comfortable during the tattoo. I am so incredibly happy with the result and cannot wait to show it off this summer!!

Red Baron Ink is the only place I’ll go to get a tattoo! I’ve gotten 4 tattoos there now, and the experience is always positive. The artists are amazing, in particular Joanna Gacek and Daisy. If you are looking for a black and grey tattoo, Joanna is THE BEST! Both my husband and I have photo-realistic portraits of birds and they are incredible. The talent she has for capturing the specific animals we wanted is unreal. I brought in a few pictures of the crow that I work with and Joanna captured her perfectly. It’s not just any crow-it’s my Harriet! Joanna gave great advice on design and placement, and I couldn’t be happier! Daisy recreated a picture from my favorite childhood book perfectly. Her work with color, especially the watercolor style, is awesome. Everyone here is super friendly and puts you at ease. It makes sitting in the chair for a few hours pleasant! I cannot recommend RBI highly enough!!

Everyone I've met in this shop are great people. They make you feel comfortable and consult with to make sure you getting what you really want or if you're feeling a bit spontaneous they have flash tattoos ready for the taking. The artist there who I have a couple pieces from is Eric and he's an amazing artist and knows how apply the right amount of pressure on the skin. Can't wait to get another one!

A new design on my inner bicep tattoo by Grant Lubbock. I came to this place after finding it on instagram and following the artists. I loved his work as a mixture of several styles at once: Graphics, Japanese, Aesthetic, Fine Line and Color. Grant Lubbock is honestly the best, super easy to talk to and extremely talented at what he does and delivers the BEST work. Grant is very sweet and patient, he was careful with the placement of the tattoo since it is an awkward spot with the way the bicep shifts naturally. I love the delicate, detailed style (single needle) that he has and he really pays attention to what you want, please look at the photo (peacock tattoo). Grant is getting popular within the tattoo community so better book him fast! Whether you have a very specific piece you want done or you're just interested in getting some art done, Grant works WITH you for a great experience. I highly suggest it- and expect I will be back for more.

Most amazing artists and extremely helpful with choosing the right design, font, size, etc. if you’re having trouble deciding. Shamil did 4 fine line hand tattoos and one on my forearm to start my patch work sleeve and I couldn’t be happier with how they came out. Incredible at his craft and almost painless for 5 tattoos in one sitting! Highly recommend and will definitely be back

My artist was Joanna and when we first met, she was really upbeat and positive and a great conversationalist and stayed that way throughout the long process. Went in for my third tattoo at RBI yesterday. This time I worked with Grant on a design I’ve had in mind for a very long time and just needed to find the perfect tattoo artist to bring it to life. Grant’s design is absolutely perfect! My experience in the shop was exceptional, as it always is. It was a long session but Grant made sure I was always comfortable and checked in with me throughout the process. My finished tattoo is above and beyond my expectations and I’m completely thrilled with how it looks. My experience here was nothing short of amazing!! After talking to Shamil and telling him what I was looking for (basically my wife and 3 daughters are my sun, moon, and stars) and that I was looking for a way to incorporate that into my Tattoo, he took it from there. I had a rough idea of what I wanted (with a picture) bur Shamil completely took it to another level and exceeded all my expectations plus more. First time piercing! Got a double helix piercing with Xavier. Such a great experience, wasn't rushed at all. I bled a lot more than expected, but Xavier handled it with ease and made sure to keep me relaxed. The place itself is extremely clean, too. Can't wait for the follow-up and future piercings!

Today was my first time at Red Baron Ink and my first time getting pierced by Xavier. I was a little nervous but the shop employees were so sweet and accommodating that I could relax as I waited. Adam helped my pick out my jewelry for my piercings and he was super welcoming. The prices for my pieces were affordable and they were gorgeous! My worry probably only came back right when Xavier was going to stab the needle in but truly it wasn't that bad. He absolutely finessed my nose piercing and my tragus piercing and was very informative and communicative during the whole process. I felt super safe and I love how everything came out! I will for sure come again when I get the itch for a new piercing.

I am very pleased with RBI and my tattoo artist Grant. First of all, I loved how during my first consultation with Grant, he was not pushy with booking my appointment. He gave me time to think about it - after all, it is a huge commitment! I have been emailing him and Adam (manager) and they were super attentive and helpful. Grant is a highly talented artist. Dave was AMAZINGGGG!!! I got in touch with him via Instagram (@ganjatattoos) and he responded quick and efficiently. I asked about a tattoo design and if it was possible for him to do as well as pricing and Dave answered everything and was so nice about it. Within two weeks I was able to book an appointment and see him. The tattoo lasted about 5 hours but he was so nice and humorous which made the time go so fast! He is also very gentle with his ink as I was almost about to fall asleep on him haha Dave is a professional and I will definitely be seeing him for my future tattoo ideas!!!!! Lauren did my snake bites and I love them, she was super helpful too with any issues that arose. Will definitely be making this my regular spot for body mods. :) Edit: I’ve now been here plenty of times and have been tattooed by Dave who did an amazing job as well and made me realize I like traditional tattoos more than I thought. I got a tattoo from Dave, IG: ganjatattoos. Whole experience was great, he was excited about my idea, asked the other artists input regarding placement until he got it perfect. He maintained focus while having good bedside manner, talked about movies, video games and dogs (holy trinity). The finished product was jus what I wanted, very clean and reignited my interest in getting more tattoos. Go to RBI for a great customer service experience, good prices and don't be afraid if it's only your first or second one, they treat you the same as someone tatted head to toe. What a great experience! I just had my septum pierced by Xavier. I couldn't be happier, honestly! Absolutely careful in every aspect of the procedure, he was able to put me at ease, being super kind and polite, and most importantly extremely careful about what he was doing. I felt no pain at all and he explained calmly and kindly all the after care, answering my many questions. The shop is spotless and the rest of the staff is so welcoming and nice it's simply unbelievable. I found RBI in google, checked out the website and decided to get an appointment so I email and got a response back within 24 hours. I was impressed because I did sent out more than a couple of inquiries out there but none of them replied. I came in the store and it looks clean and organized. The staff are very nice and friendly. After 20 years of ambivalence, I finally got my first tattoo with Daisy. She is such as amazing artist because she truly captured the image that I like (Lotus flower). My daughter wanted to get her ears pierced, and I was looking around for reputable piercers who would pierce her with a needle rather than a gun or cassette. I decided to go in and get a nostril piercing to feel the place out, and I'm so glad I did! First of all, the staff are all very friendly, knowledgeable, and really laid back...you'll get zero judgements here. Second, the place is extremely clean and has a dedicated room for piercings only. They will autoclave your jewelry right before you get pierced. Third, they have a really nice selection of jewelry running the range from implant grade titanium to 14 karat gold; You'll have no problem finding something you love within your price range here, and they're pretty up front about cost, so you can definitely stay within your budget if you just ask. My piercer, Xavier, was always calm, collected, and offered very clear and helpful feedback regarding jewelry selection, placement, and walking me through the process. The piercing itself was quick and almost painless, and his suggested aftercare is more or less in line with the recommendations published by the Association of Professional Piercers on their website. So far, my piercing is healing beautifully with no complications whatsoever. There isn't a lot on Red Baron's reviews that reflect the piercing experience, so I'll admit I was a bit wary going in, but after my experience here, I definitely have no issue bringing my daughter here because I know they will take care of her, and she will have a great experience.

I’ve gotten two piercings at Red Baron and I absolutely love them. Xavier is the best. One time I had issues with my conch and he helped me fix it ay no cost. Their jewelry is top quality and they are really helpful. I got a mid hélix piercing today with Xavier. He first makes a mark where the piercing will be and then asks if you want to change it or if you like that placement. The process is painless and he always make you feel comfortable. First of all, I need to begin by saying I got my first ever tattoo here yesterday. I stumbled upon the shop using google. I began to look at all of the artists portfolios' and decided I needed to have Sam design my piece. I sent an e-mail out and Giselle answered quickly. Giselle was an angel and just as sweet in person as she is through her e-mails. I set up an appointment and went out to the shop to speak to Sam prior to the appointment. I arrived on the day of my appointment early - I was commuting in via trains and did not want to chance being late. Sue was already there, as well as Giselle, Grant, and Max. Every single one of them are down to earth and just generally good people. They want you to be there and they want to talk to you. They even gave me a few suggestions for which artist would be a good match for an idea my friend had in mind. Sam arrived early, so we got started a little early. She showed me her design and we had a quick discussion before she went back to sketching away. Once she was satisfied with the design, we began. I feel it's super important to stress JUST how clean they are. Everything from the table to the toolbox to the lamp was wiped down and covered with plastic. This is one of the things you really need to look out for in a shop and I must say that this shop takes pride in every single aspect of their work and it's something undoubtedly respectable. We got started and Sam was great. She kept checking in and reassured me that I was doing great (not moving, remembering to breath, etc). Giselle, Grant, Sue, and Max all kept coming over to watch her work. Their comments on how great it was coming out were so reassuring (not that I didn't trust Sam, but because it was my first piece!!!) The piece took about 4 and 1/2 hours with some breaks in-between. Sam did a beautiful piece on my thigh. In fact, it was so good, when i got home later, I cried. It is more than I could have ever imaged. Her line work, her color saturation, and her attention to detail in impeccable. I cannot wait to return there and have any of the artists there work on me. Red Baron team, it was a pleasure from start to finish. Thank you for being so reassuring to me, for my first tattoo, when I was there alone. You didn't make me feel alone ever. I asked for a passion fruit flower tattoo which took over 5 hours in the chair and although it was painful compared to my other tats, it was completely worth all the time and money spent. Since it was my first one, I was nervous about the whole process and finding someone I feel comfortable with. After speaking to a few places and feeling off from the initial conversations, I was recommended by a friend to give this place a call. I was given an option for several artist and although they are all amazing, I went with Daisy. She worked with me on the date and even offered to work on days not normally hers to accommodate my "single mom " schedule. After explaining to her what I needed, she put it all together and the day of my appointment, she brought my vision to life!! She was so sweet, understanding and truly made me feel so comfortable and welcomed. I felt as if I've know her for so long with how personable she was!! Even after the Tattoo was done, she wanted to touch it up to pop the colors even more. Again, she communicated with me all the time and made sure to work with me. I went to Red Baron Ink to get a new cartilage piercing based on a recommendation from a friend. It was pretty far away but figured it was worth traveling to get a nice piercing. SO GLAD I DID! First off, the place is super cute and has really cool artwork inside. There was a ton of jewelry to choose from and separate room specifically for piercings. They have a full time piercer (not just a tattoo artist who does piercings on the side) and she is incredibly friendly. Really makes you feel comfortable and works with you to help you pick out a piercing that would look good on your ear shape (I didn't have a piercing in mind going in). Everything was professionally sterilized and I'm so happy with the final product. Really awesome place and worth the money to get a high quality piercing! I'm definitely going back to get another soon.

I made an appointment with Grant, after reviewing the design we both agreed that another artist would be better matched for my vision. Can you believe it? An artist that is okay with passing on a job because they understood their style. I love this place. I had my first session with Eric, I was a bit worried that my idea was out of the spectrum but I almost cried happy tears when I saw his design, it was PERFECT! I have two more sessions but I know the final product is going to be epic and last through my crazy life. The email system for booking sessions is extremely responsive. The scheduling is good for post-COVID times. Very clean. They are reasonably priced-although you should never base your tattoo artist off of price, that is ink on your forever! The owner Grant is very personable and accessible. I like this place so much my significant other just booked their next appointment in October!

Great shop, staff, and artists. I was looking for a cover up of a fairly large tattoo on my upper arm and came in to meet with Eric after he did a tattoo for my wife. I worked with him to spitball some ideas on how to handle it and come up with a final design. He recommended packing white ink over it first to skip out on laser removal, which lightened it up enough to get the new design over the old. It took quite a few sessions after that to get all the detail in, but I couldn't be happier with the result. Eric's attention to detail was over the top and he was extremely precise with his needle. My only criticism was that the tattoo went a bit over his initial estimates of time/budget, but it was most definitely worth it to get the final result.

Remember: You get what you pay for! I am definitely willing to shell out extra cash for the excellent service that RBI provides and supporting their amazing studio (I’ve gotten $40 piercings done in the past, they were’t terrible but the experiences were not exactly stellar). I got my septum done by Liz in July and she is amazing! She helped me feel at ease and made sure to walk me through all steps of the piercing process as well as answer any questions I happened to have. The studio and workspace are all very clean, not to mention they were very good at keeping everything sanitized and adhering to COVID regulations. Definitely would return in the future for some more piercings or tattoos!

By far the best tattoo experience I've ever had. Grant (The Baron) is one of the most professional, laid-back and all around friendliest tattoo artists I've ever met. I won a contest via Instagram back in February 2015 for a palm sized piece. Upon walking in, Grant notified me he wanted to do a larger piece on me due to having larger, muscular arms. I gladly agreed and we went underway. Almost 4 hours later, the finished result was unlike anything I was expecting. I was more than pleased with the quality, craftsmanship and design of the tattoo. So the tattoo artist by the name Joey is a tip top Artist, truly one of the BEST. This shop has such a welcoming aura. Very clean and professional. I feel confident every time going to see him. Although he travels & he’s always at a conventions reaching out to him never seems to affect his busy schedule, but Joey is always pretty quick with the response time and very easy to work with. Every employee greeted me with a smile and welcomed me with open arms. My piercer Liz was very gentle warm and kind. She made sure I was ready for each piercing and that I was not afraid or in pain. She made the experience oddly relaxing and quick. After I was given before and aftercare instructions I had a consult with grant who was also quite friendly and patient. We spoke briefly about my tattoo plans and felt he was very knowledgeable based on our discussion. I look forward to working with him and others in that facility. The shop is clean neatly organized and professional. I arrived earlier than my scheduled appointment time and had very little to no wait time. The location is convenient as well in terms of commute. So that’s also a plus. They are also wonderful at communication. And great at following up with clients via phone or email. I’m happy I found this spot.

I have gotten more than a few tattoos from Delvirus and DaisyLu over the years and will continue to do so. This isnt one of your run of the mill shops that bring you in and push you out the door with a mediocre tattoo in a hurry. The care and attention to detail from EVERY artist here is admirable. The focus here doesn't feel like it's about making a quick buck but more so about making art. The shop is super clean, bright and the staff is inviting. You almost feel like you're at a friends house having laughs. 5 stars is too little a rate to give this place in my opinion. Check them out. Delvirus/DaisyLu and RBI crew keep killing it!

I came to RBI in July 2014, got a tattoo done by Hira. The shop itself is small, hole in the wall type place, but CLEAN and the friendliest atmosphere I have ever experienced at a shop. My tattoo came out AMAZING. Next to me, Laura was doing a walk in that was free handed and came out excellent. Grant was doing an arm piece on a girl in front of me. QUALITY WORK with every piece. I seriously cannot emphasize that enough -- seriously, their linework, colorwork, everything is KILLER! The shop itself is actually really pretty, with art work up on the walls -- some for sale, even! I am always looking at other shops, and I find myself holding them up to the standard of RBI. Definitely my favorite shop!

Red Baron Ink (West Village) feels familiarly like art school. It’s where the art school nerds went. There is a communal drawing table next to a bookshelf filled with fine art books. I’ve been in many dark, dungeony tattoos shops where artists are more-or-less cordoned off from each other, separated by curtains and barriers and divided by styles. That’s not RBI. They ask each other questions, comment on each other’s work, and foster an open and creative atmosphere that feels very professional. It’s brightly-lit with faux wood paneling walls and a TV in the tiny space that operates as a waiting room, which is sometimes outfitted with vintage PlayStation controllers so guests can play while they wait. I’ve had three tattoos there and plan to get more. Daisy did touch-ups for free and is wonderful to talk to. Szabla is a sharp-eyed, meticulous, talented artist with the honesty you want in someone putting permanent ink in your skin. She’ll tell you if an idea will look bad and will make suggestions. She suggested the ram skull on my chest; it’s now my favorite tattoo. Even though it was excruciating (easily my most painful), I appreciate the fact that she took her time, appraised every line, and never made me feel like I was taking up her time (we did go over time). Everyone is kind, chill, open-minded, and queer or queer-friendly. It’s a great shop for people who may be new to tattooing and for those who value more traditional tattoos — it’s not a purveyor of those delicate micro tats sweeping Manhattan, which don’t survive well on the skin. Instead, they’ll fix your faded fine-line rose with something stellar. Five stars.

Absolutely great place! I went in on an impulse to get a piercing, and the piercer Cait was so nice and calming and knowledgeable. I wasn’t sure what I wanted to get so I told her to pick something that complimented my anatomy and the piercings I already have and that was the best decision! She told me what she thought would look the best, and I really liked the idea so that’s what I did. I get really nervous before piercings but talking to her and just chatting while I was looking at jewelry was really calming and everyone I interacted with there was so friendly and nice. As far as the piercing itself, RBI has a ton of options for jewelry to get pierced with which is fantastic. Cait was also a very quick piercing and it was so far the best piercing experience I’ve had out of the five I’ve done. Highly recommend!! My experience here makes me want to come back in a few months once my piercing has healed a bit and get another one just because it was such a great experience!

After a lot of research, I found Red Baron and made my appointment with Grant for two custom large pieces. Grant is so professional, respectful, and incredibly talented. His lines are extremely clean and he puts so much thought into the design of the artwork and how it translates onto skin. I feel so comfortable with him and I have a blast every session. The other artists are also very talented and have wonderfully skilled hands. I’ve also gotten body piercings here by Joey and he was very efficient while making the experience comfortable. Long story short - RBI is a top class shop, both clean and professional. My artist, Vince, is an amazing talent and a really cool dude as well. Check out his IG @vcmttt Given this was my first tattoo I spent months doing research, Instagram stocking different artists, etc etc until I found someone I felt confident reaching out to. It took a little over a month to book, given his busy schedule, but Vince was responsive and very easy to work with leading up to our appointment. Not to mention, well worth the wait. I was quite nervous going in, but everyone was really calm and cool in the shop and I quickly felt at ease. Great vibes in there. Extremely friendly staff, very clean, well organized and well-designed space. The tattoo in itself... money! Vince's line work is so precise and the end product is exactly what I had envisioned coming in. After he drew it up we took our time in drafting a few different sizes and shapes until I was 100% certain before we started. Price wise - very fair! (from what I've heard and asked around). I'm already looking forward to my next session w/ Vince at RBI.

I’d only ever had my ear lobes pierced, so this was my first kinda big piercing that I’ve gotten. I went in on Valentine’s Day and my friends and I got pierced. I got my nose pierced and I was SO nervous. But Shannon and the rest of the staff were so kind and comforting. At no point did they make me feel bad for getting anxious. Shannon asked me multiple times if I was okay before piercing me and walked me through the whole process so I knew exactly what was happening and when. I loved how easy it was to communicate with everyone in the store and if I ever needed another piercing done I would definitely come back.
