I got a walk-in the other day, small black line piece. Positives: Great work on the art. Its been two days and has healed up really nicely so far. I don't see any splotching or fading so far. They were able to fit me in at a moments notice as well, but it didn't feel like a rush job. Negative: After care procedures leave something to be desired. My artist didn't have any proper bandages so I left with a bit of paper towel stuck to me with tape. That and the bench I was on wasn't covered, which may not be standard, but it definitely makes the space feel cleaner. I thought it was a bit pricey for the size considering I provided the art as well. It was ~$250 with tip for a piece that took less than 45 minutes. Not super mad at that, because you definitely pay for what you get, but I think $200 would have been more reasonable. All-in-all not bad. Somethings could do for an improvement, but it isn't a bad place to get a simple tat.

All the guys here are super talented, knowledgeable and they're obsessed with keeping a sterile environment. I've gotten 2 large custom pieces done by Marko, I was well taken care of, comfortable and couldn't imagine going to anyone else for my tattoos. I walked in the shop and it was very clean. David was very friendly as he greeted me. He asked me what I wanted and showed me different styles. I agreed on one and then I changed my mind, he was fine with it. He went in the back and sanitized everything. He asked if I wanted to watch TV or listen to music. Once he started, he kept asking me if I alright. The experience was great and I love my tattoo.

I am picky when it comes to where I get tattoos and piercings, but Capitol Tattoo is probably one of the safest places when it comes to COVID protocols. For starters, I was the only customer in the shop during my tattoo. Not only that, but they make sure to take your temperature, fill out waivers, wear masks and gloves, and they clean their materials in front of you. AMAZING. Now, TK is incredible. He brought my tattoo idea to life in an instant. He had it drawn out and ready when I arrived. He also doesn’t want to waste your time. Ask him the price range and he will tell you. Ask him about the tattoo details, his opinions or ask him facts, etc., and he will be straight up. TK truly just wants you to have your tattoo as pictured in your head and he will be flexible and work with you.

TK at Capital Tattoo is an incredibly talented master artist and highly experienced professional. I contacted him upon the recommendation of a friend as I was hoping to have an older beloved tattoo (inked in Richmond) fixed as it held very special meaning for me, but had bled together in a way that I did not like. TK was SUPER QUICK in his response to my text inquiry and requested photos so that he could understand even before I came in what I was looking for. When I came for my appointment, TK and the entire staff was extremely warm and welcoming. TK took a nice amount of time to look over the original tattoo and explain why it was not a good idea to go in the repair direction that I had original wanted. I asked for suggestions and he came up with a solution that I could have never come up with on my own and in actuality made this tattoo even more meaningful to me. Then (after making sure that I really wanted to go forward, with no pressure) he did incredible freehand work that has impressed everyone at work and all of my friends. Truly exceptional. I am beyond impressed. This man is so incredibly talented, you would be foolish to trust anyone else with a piece of art that will be on your body for the rest of your life. I'm so excited to go back in November for my next project

Tk is great... this was my first tattoo and he put me at ease and got it done in an hour. Everywhere else told me it would take a couple of hours. The place is clean, he takes all the necessary step to follow COVID-19 protocol, and his work is even better than I envisioned. Before going to him, I went to 4 shops in the DMV area, and the lack of customer service, pricing , availability and designs all had me discouraged. Thanks for the experience.

Me and my husband had been looking for a place to get our wedding tattoos at, and I'm glad we've decided to go with this one! From the get go, the vibe of the place was super laid back and friendly but also professional at the same time. We walked in to consult the design, ask about the price, and make an appointment if we like what we see - but we ended up getting inked right away. TK went with us over some of the ideas we had and sketched a design that we really liked. He was super funny, made us feel very much at ease and answered all of our questions about the process + the aftercare. All in all, great experience and great artist, will definitely go back to Capitol Tattoo and TK if I'm getting another tattoo in the DC area.

I have gotten 2 different tattoos here from Mark. One was a small toe tattoo and the other was a significant coverup on a hip piece (3x the original size). Both were excellent! Amazing service, great artistic talent and very fun personality. The parlor was clearly busy but moved at a rapid pace and gave accurate appointment estimates. Prices were reasonable and the work is phenomenal. Go here and see Mark!

Excellent advice for tattoo cover up. Update on 2-25-20 I got my tattoo coverup and an excellent finger/hand tattoo. Excellent quality of tattoo. Friendly service and clean atmospheric energy. I called to request a lip piercing and was told to come right in which out any questions. After driving a half hour to the location I get inside and was told that I couldn’t get the piercing I wanted bc he didn’t feel comfortable with that type of piercing. Although I respect his honesty it would have been nice for him to ask me if I was interested in wearing a hoop. Why not probe your client before having them come in. A simple questions could have saved me an hour.

Came to mark for my first tattoo because a friend of mine recommended him. I was very indecisive when choosing a tattoo artist but my friend spoke very highly of Mark. I was super nervous but he is a super cool guy and made me feel comfortable. I could tell that he was trying to put effort into talking to me or making jokes. In all honesty I was in pain, especially in the beginning, and didn't have much to say but I remember mentally noting and appreciating it. I didn't know what getting a tattoo would feel like but after a while it felt fine (except the hipbone) and I was very comfortable. I probably could've been there for another hour. I did think it was strange to pay in the beginning, especially for a service. This made me a little suspicious because I'm highly critical when getting things done and usually I'm not afraid to complain or walk out if something is unprofessional or wrong. You can't exactly do that if you've already paid.

The shop itself is very spacious and welcoming. Our tattoo artist was TK and he did a great job. It took us a little while to figure out exactly what we wanted but TK was very patient and had great suggestions for us to consider. The only inconvenience about this location is the parking. There's only metered street parking available and even that can fill up fairly quickly.

I was at Capital Tattoo on Monday with my friend who wanted to get a tattoo to cover up her scar. We had the pleasure of speaking with Nick who worked diligently to create the perfect design for my "very picky" friend. After placing the stencil, my friend absolutely loved the tattoo and got it done on the spot. I was so impressed with Nick's professionalism, passion and his work, that I returned yesterday to get my own tattoo. I had a combination of design ideas for my tattoo, and Nick put them all together seamlessly. My tattoo looks absolutely amazing. The best part besides the amazing work is that I hardly felt any pain at all. That is major for me because I have an extremely low tolerance for pain. My much smaller and less detailed tattoos I got somewhere else hurt more than this piece by Nick. The only bad part is that tattoos are completely addicting and I already have my next idea in hand, and I will be returning to Nick at Capital Tattoo to get it done. Thank you so much Nick!!

Receptionist was professional and friendly, Nick the tattoo artist whipped up the sketch quickly and was attentive to what I was seeking. I had the best experience at Capital Tattoo getting my bottom lip peirced. It was my first body mod experience and I was so nervous. Walking in, the environment was so clean and peaceful. I was greeted by the piercer, Tom, and he immediately settled my nerves by cracking jokes. When he got down to business, he explained everything and even told me which piece of jewelery would make the piercing easiest to heal. The piercing process was so quick and barely painful that I quickly realized I'd hyped myself up for nothing. Tom even took the time to take into account my beauty mark in the placing of my piercing because, and I quote "we want it to look cute don't we?". Overall, I would recommend anyone to Capital tattoo for a piercing from Tom. I plan to go back for another piercing in a couple of months.

Man, let me tell you something. Capitol Tattoos are the absolute BEST!! The people who work there are so nice, friendly & really funny. The artist have crazy skills & I love my new tattoo. My man Mark aka Meatwad took care of me. Dude is really really good. Capitol Tattoo provided nearly perfect service - the only way that it could have been better is if the tattoo was free. But all jokes aside, the pricing is more than fair, the personnel is more than professional, and the environment is more than comfortable and relaxed - easily the best experience I've had in D.C. for anything. I've been coming to this shop for about four years now and every time i come in the shop is clean, and the staff jokes around and have fun, but never a redneck for any type of body modification i highly recommend stopping in for at least a chat and a quote let them talk to you and figure out exactly what you trying to get done the more you talk the better the artist understands what you want for the rest of your life. Best prices in town, no doubt! My roommate and I searched for about 30 mins looking for a place that wouldn't butt rape us on a price and came up with Capital Tattoo in Silver Spring. Tommy is absolutely AMAZING! If you want someone who knows what they are doing you MUST see him, he is all about doing his work the right way. He let me ask as many questions as I needed to, helped me figure out what it is that I wanted and he was over all a great. Very clean and you can honestly tell that he is there to be a professional, he cleaned up right in front of me, sanitized and everything, showed me what he was going to be doing so there were never any surprises, and the best part was that I didn't feel any pain, it was quick and smooth and nothing went wrong...which by the way has happened to me before (not at capital tattoo) so this was a plus for me. I am Extremely Pleased with my experience. I'm new the area and had no idea where to go for my VHA piercing so I researched piercing parlors online and found Capitol Tattoo. I was super nervous and apprehensive about having this particular piercing done,so I called first. Just my luck I spoke with Tommy(my piercer) whom walked me through the entire process of what I could expect by the time I had asked all my questions, he asked for my name and offered to schedule me an appt. This made me feel better about choosing CT Inc. for my next piercing. I went the next day and Tommy basically held my hand the entire process esp. when I almost kicked him in the genitals!!! He even informed me about one of my current piercings that needed to be closed and reopened. I am EXTREMELY PLEASED and will refer anyone that I know who's looking for a clean, knowledgeable,and professional facility for any of their piercings. This place is amazingly amazing.I got a tragus piercing here it was so quick. It took less than 8 seconds for Tarun Kumar to pierc my ear. I was so surprised and I’m still. If I had to get another piercing I will go to Cap Tat. Thanks Tarun.
