I first walked into Z's shop in January of 2022. I had been eyeballing this shop for years since I first moved to Tampa back in 2018 as I have been looking for a specific artist that specializes in this kind of work. Boy did I get more then I ever wanted out of my brand new hikae tattoo. It is November 2022 and we are finally done but the journey getting there was worth every penny. I came into the shop with many ideas and Z happily listened and accommodated to all of them without sacrificing the core idea that I was searching for in the tattoo. He truly listens and knows the subject matter better then anyone that I have met so far. Not only is he a true master at his craft, he also knows how to make his clients feel welcome and appreciated for stepping into his shop. He has no problem putting in that little extra work to truly make your tattoo feel unique, original, and truly your own personal piece that will stand the test of time. I have walked into Z's shop on days where I was down in life and he always knew how to lift my spirits after every session. He truly does take time out of his busy schedule to listen and give real genuine advise on life. Hands down the best tattoo shop in the Tampa area and consequently the best kept secret for customers who want the experiential value along with their art vision interpreted into a tattoo with real life and energy. Zenon has been around the tattoo world for decades, across different markets, both east and west coast, and has mastered multiple styles (realism, Japanese, traditional, etc). He will remain around long after the current trends of the overmarketed tattoo world have subsided. You can bet he can execute on any concept thrown at him and build it into a very unique and powerful tattoo that will inspire you. The client relationship driven focus here is a first that I have seen. Zenon's extreme attention to detail, honesty, and creativity is something that has to be experienced for anyone wanting a quality tattoo and experience. This review and pics included are both a recommendation and also my way of reminiscing, since they come from the pre-pandemic days of this year (Jan - Feb 2020). They are in reverse chronological order of a left arm sleeve done by Zenon (blank ink) and are best seen then textually interpreted.

Six months ago, I stumbled upon Tabernacle Tattoo on Instagram, and was thoroughly impressed by Z's tattoos. I first reached out to Z via email to do a cover-up tattoo on a half arm sleeve that I was unhappy with. He responded quickly to setup a facetime consultation where he looked over the tattoo and we discussed the goal of completely covering the tattoo with a full sleeve design. During this process, Z expressed a lot of interest in giving me a tattoo that had the right amount of balance and energy. I found this to be extremely refreshing and made me optimistic in choosing him. He showed true care in the discussion of giving me a tattoo that I would be happy with. Upon my first visit to the shop, I was quite impressed by the aesthetic. For me, it felt like I was getting tattooed in a real tattoo shop. The walls are covered with artwork, good music was playing in the background, and it was clean. I was greeted by Z, who was very energetic and happy to see me. He then showed me the design he planned, and we got to work. While getting tattooed, the conversation with Z is great. He is an intelligent guy, who can keep you entertained with enjoyable conversation and stories. Z has dedicated his life to tattooing and continues to hone his skill every day. When he is not tattooing, he is drawing and painting. He has much more experience than I could ever give him credit for on here. After leaving the shop for the first time, I realized I had finally found the right tattoo artist. Since that first initial visit, I have been back many more times. I have over sixty hours under his needle and could not be happier with the tattoos I have received. I just completed my second full arm sleeve, and next will be a back piece. I live about an hour and half away, and will soon live in another state, but will continue to make the voyage to get tattooed by Z, a true artist, and craftsmen.

First, I've been getting tattooed since the late '80s so I've got some knowledge on this subject. Whether you pick a pre-existing design, sleeve work or want custom design work done Tabernacle Tattoo is your go to on the Gulf coast. Zenon, has over 20+ years in this business & understands issues such as anatomy & trauma. He's not a 19 year old that purchased a tattoo kit off Ebay & tracing Google designs. I've seen other tattoo artists come there for him to do work. That's a big plus knowing other experts come to him. He travels to do shows and is booked with clients before he even gets there. Also, out-of-State customers travel here to get work done. Zenon has been to Europe, Asia, Canada, & Hawaii where Japanese artist work so he's up to specs on Asian work where tattooing has been done since ancient times. His location is pristine & safe. He's a great personality but he doesn't allow riff raff in the shop so you'll have a safe relaxing experience. His customers are respectable, classy, & engaging. I've had many conversations with them about their tattooing experiences while visiting and we all know why we're at Tabernacle for our work. He uses disposable supplies & he actually has an autoclave for sterilizing equipment. As an RN, is comforting to know he's up to surgical standards when it comes to hygiene along with a clean shop. Shop anywhere in the world for your work just make sure you check with Tabernacle last.

I have done all of my tattoos with Zenon and I will probably never go to anyone else at this point either. He is a true artist in that his main concern is making sure the tattoo art he gives you will continue to look great for years after it's been finished. He has wild, fantastic ideas, can do a host of different art types/styles, but will also be honest with you about what will (and will not) look good on your body. I tend to think that In another dimension, your tattoo has already been thought out and completed. You simply go to Zenon, he performs advanced "tattoo magic" on you, and nature will make it so.

I contacted Zenon in fall of 2016 to begin work on a sleeve, which involved a big coverup of a previous tattoo on my upper arm/shoulder. Me, not being an artist or tattooer, I had no idea how it was going to turn out. I took about 9 months to complete the project, and I have been so happy with it! I get complements all the time, the color is rock solid, and you can’t even tell there’s a coverup. Zenon is a professional and an amazing artist.
