First time going to Black Squirrel and for a Walk-In event and it couldn't have been better. Definitely love and recommend this place not only for the people and look inside, but obviously the wonderful quality of work done here. Having Patrick Jones as an artist to get my 8th tattoo and my sister's first made the day extra special. I absolutely love my Lucky Cat tattoo and will come back to get more. Thank you Black Squirrel!

My 1st experience was great, I did a walk in, the place was clean and the work was good. I was in and out pretty quick. My second experience was even better. Sang was great to work with. He took my concept that has a lot of meaning for me personally, and turned it into a piece that I'm very happy with. His insite into the size of the individual parts, the general layout, and overall size and placement really made a big difference. It honestly looks better than what I had pictured in my head. I will not hesitate to come back to Black Squirrel. Thank you! You Guys Rock!

I had a cardinal holding a rosary with my dad’s handwriting with his name. Shari did this for me and I totally LOVE it and have gotten so many compliments on this piece! The place is nice and clean and all that I have encountered are very friendly and polite if your looking for a good place this one was and is highly recommended ❤️

I booked a flash appointment with Shari and the whole experience from start to finish was perfect! The people working the front desk were so kind and accommodating, they answered my stupid questions and were great when I called back to note the desired change in tattoo location. When I got there they were friendly and helpful. Shari was the consummate professional! Her artwork is something I’ll treasure, and she did an incredible job distracting me during the most painful parts. 100% I would recommend this shop to anyone who is looking for new art!

Please remember when you commission an artist that art takes time, good art costs money, and you have to give some creative license. I wish I could give this place more than 5 stars.

Well worth the wait! I came in for a consult back in August of 2019, I was looking to get a landscape done on my arm. I met with Mel who helped visualize my idea. The only downfall was she was booked up until March of 2020, from all the reviews I saw she was worth waiting for. I am so happy I waited and stick with Mel, she is an excellent artist and amazing to work with. My entire experience was flawless, the team is professional and kind, they go the extra mile for their clients. I will be back!

I've never had a more positive experience than I do when I walk into this shop. The front desk staff is always approachable with a smile on their face and knowledgeable. If they can't answer it, they will direct your question to the artist. They don't just make stuff up to get you out the door. Every artist that has tattooed me or my friends has done an amazing job and I'm never disappointed. I will keep coming back.

From the time you walk in, to the time you walk out with your tattoo, or estimate, you are treated like you matter. All the staff, and artist were amazing. Kenny did my tattoo, and was nothing short of professional, and what I consider a highly experienced artist. Parking is the only issue. Be careful pulling in and out onto center st. 5 🌟's for the response, with other parking ideas. Thank you!

What a wonderful vibe this facility gave me. All of the staff were welcoming. They greeted and took care of me right away. I am quite satisfied with my beautiful tattoo. At first, I was nervous as I walked in, because this was my first tattoo ever. But, after speaking with Penny, she reassured me that I would be fine and she talked to me during the entire tattooing process. Tattoos are extremely painful but with Penny by my side, she distracted me for the most part. Thank you so much for the wonderful experience. I will be sure to stop in if I ever have another urge to get another tattoo. Amazing facility!

At the time, I was ready to start my sleeve. I took some time doing research on studios before I even tried to find an artist and Black Squirrel ended up being the perfect choice, and Cj Esparrago was my guy. There was never an appointment where the studio was dirty, both for the artists stations and shop. My sleeve ended up being completed as Covid began and even with CDC guidelines, the studio didn't have much to change since they already had such high standards. I couldn't be more happy with the choice I made. CJ was ready to work each visit and never skipped corners with preparation or execution. He made every idea his own and guided my decisions when I didn't know what to get next. Im a firm believer in giving the artist as much freedom as possible and the results spoke for themselves. CJ gave me the sleeve I wanted and only confirmed my choice about BST being the best shop in Omaha.

All of them are professional and do their absolute best to make the piece a beautiful one worth showing off. I have recieved tattoos from multiple artist in this shop and i have nothing negative to say. They are all talented, the shop is always super clean, the owners have integrity which i respect, and they all communicate well with what to expect and suggestions for my tattoo. I planned some of my tattoos from them and one was during a Halloween event. I will keep coming back again and again.

I was always completely satisfied with the staff, service, and quality of work. My only disappointment was 18 hours into a sleeve I all of the sudden could not ever seem to set an appointment. After speaking to the artist I was told there was no availablity for atleast 4-6 months. I mentioned being okay waiting just let me know when we can set another appointment. After a year, I am now searching for another artist. You can imagine how difficult it is to find another artist that has similar skill level and style. Also how awkward and stressful it must be for the next artist to finish a large piece mostly done by another artist. While this seemed to start after political tensions rose last year. I found out after a post of mine I was blocked on f/b & Insta. I fully respect any personal ideals and accept everyone has a different idea of how to go about things. The artist and shop can and should be able to refuse service to anyone. I just wish I would have actually been refused or told to look for a new artist, instead of waiting over a year.

Came in on a day off and wanted a customized tattoo done. I had been thinking about getting this specific piece for years, but kept putting it off. Chris asked about my ideas and I gave him a few examples I had printed off. He asked for an hour to draw it up, so I came back an hour later and he started the tattoo. It came out better than I had even imagined it in my mind. I highly recommend the shop and Chris!!

I've been to this shop several times. I am always treated with respect. The manager Kenzie has a tough job ad does it very well. You are always greeted in a friendly manner when you walk in the door. I've been tattooed by both Mel Judkins and Matt Dinovo. I could not be happier with my tattoos and have been complimented on them numerous times. If you are looking for a piece of artwork on your body and not "just" a tattoo, I would recommend Black Squirrel. I would also like to add that each artist has their own private room so it is a very relaxing and professional environment to get tattooed in.

James martin did such a wonderful job. I got an animal portrait of a childhood pet and I’m so grateful for his work. I’ll be returning to have him do my next piece. He was more than just professional, when I was having a tough time sitting after the 6th hour, he used some lidocaine foam on me. More than once. He didn’t have to do that, but that kindness stuck with me. I’ve been tatted before and just had to suffer but he went the extra mile. He kept me talking so I didn’t have to be stuck in the misery in my own mind. I will always come back to Black Squirrel so long as he is there. Im a customer for life.
