This is literally my new favorite tattoo and piercing spot! I was getting the “tattoo itch” and spontaneously decided to walk in. Everyone was super friendly and welcoming! I asked if they did walk-ins and they do! Due to my immense love of plant life and my previous growth this year, I decided to commemorate it with a large forearm piece. Carla, who’s an epic tattoo artist and person by the way, whipped up a gorgeous design in 20 minutes! We got to inking, and everyone was so nice and chill the whole time I was there. Fire music too by the way. Thank you so much Carla and 7SoulsTattoo for this beautiful piece, I’ll be coming back as soon as I get the “itch” again ♥️

Martin is a tremendously skilled and precise artist, and he was also very patient and thoughtful in the process of figuring out how to best create the tattoo I wanted. He's a good conversationalist and even though tattooing obviously hurts, he has a light touch with the needle. The final result was phenomenal; I'd recommend Martin to anyone and will be coming back soon to have him touch-up an old tattoo of mine that has faded over time. I couldn't be happier with my experience!

Angel is an excellent communicator at figuring out what his client needs (meaning me, hi I’m Client) and following through on a design that is still his unique style. You’ll what you want and he’ll get to make his kind of art on you. Awesome experience. More to come. On a note of the parlor this particular afternoon: they were BUSY. And listening to the other artists there discuss their craft, discuss the interests of clients as they come in, arguing about content and style: these people care about their work. It’s a good place to go. You’re in good hands.

Very happy with my experience. The shop manager Erin was super friendly, responsive and helpful as soon as I messaged them. This was my first tattoo and I wanted to work with a female artist. Claudia was lovely and very professional. Her work was so detailed as she took her time to make me feel comfortable but also very diligent. Everyone I encountered at the shop was supportive and encouraging if I asked for any input and the overall vibe was just very professional, relaxed and welcoming. I love my tattoo and it came out better than I had hoped!

I’m very happy with my tattoo, and the guy doing it was so nice. Honestly, my tattoo looks amazing and I feel great! It’s clearly a really clean and well run studio. Erin, the manager, is also awesome. There was a small miss communication, and she sorted it out within minutes! They were also very clear about aftercare, and very patient explaining things to someone who clearly knows nothing about tattoos. All in all, great experience and amazing tattoo. I would highly recommend this studio!

10/10 Experience from start to finish. I filled in an online form and Erin (shop manager) was quick to get back to me via text. She was so patient and flexible as we arranged a time that worked best for my husband and I to get our tattoos done together. The day of the process was so smooth. Super clean shop, friendly and chill environment. We were there all afternoon! Del was an amazing artist. He was also very patient while we decided sizing and placement and totally willing to work with us on our designs. My tattoo was simple line work and my husband had a very detailed piece. We went in for a mother/daughter tattoo without an appointment and they were the most accommodating. Fast and efficient. The place was super clean and beautifully decorated. The two artists Angel and Claro were very nice.. totally recommend them. They made us feel very comfortable and at peace with having a tattoo done by someone else.

This was first time visiting this location for a septum piercing. The staff are very professional and quite welcoming. If you’re getting a piercing, walk-ins are welcome and no appointment is necessary. They are very good at setting expectations of wait time and they text you when it’s almost your turn. Again, they will set the proper expectations of wait time. Max was very professional and was clean and quick! The vibe was pretty chill and at the end of the day, everyone just wants to be happy and chill while getting a tattoo or piercing. I’ll definitely come back for either a piercing or maybe a tattoo.

I personally have not gotten any work done but have gone several times with my daughter. The shop is clean and the people who work there are awesome. We have never had any issues with the staff or their work. They take their time to talk to you and to make sure you get what you want and that your happy with whatever it is you’re having done. My daughter loves her piercings. Max, the piercer, saved her nose piercing by having her switch to titanium. Del did her first tattoo which she loved so much that she just had him do her second. Everyone is very knowledgeable and passionate about their job. Highly recommend 7Souls. They are always busy so would call before you go. If I were to get a tattoo myself, I would not hesitate going there.

Claudia was wonderful and attentive. She made sure I was happy with the size of my tattoo because I was a little indecisive about the size of mine. I would hands down come back and choose her to design a tattoo for me! Erin was also very friendly and welcoming . It was not an intimidating shop at all! The shop was also very very clean !! I highly recommend Claudia for any tattoos that you are thinking of doing. I came around 2 months ago to get lettering done and the whole process was amazing. Booked online, through their website and was able to get a spot almost immediately. Being that this was my first tattoo, Claudia took great care of me and helped me along the process and taught me how to take care of it after too.With this being a couple months ago, the tattoo has now healed perfectly and looks great. Highly recommend and will definitely be coming back for more

The experience was above excellent. We came in for my daughter's septum piercing, the piercer Jerome was very patient with us. Answered all our questions took his time explaining the process. When it came to the actual piercing process he took his time had my daughter look at the piercing location to make sure she liked it where it was. We will definitely be coming back from future piercings and tattoos . Everyone there was so kind and friendly made you feel very comfortable. We recommend 7 souls Tattoo.

Such awesome people! The woman with the red hair in the front assisted me when I walked in and she had a great attitude. They get pretty busy so just prepare to wait. They kindly told me to come back in an hour and so I did and when I got back I got my nose pierced. Max is awesome!!!!! Quick, easy, and painless. Thank you 7 souls! Definitely recommend this place.

I found this business after spending months looking for a safe spot to get my first tattoo. Out of curiosity, I emailed through the website and got quick, comprehensive info from Erin. She works hard to answer all your questions, overall super patient and friendly. My artist, Tyrone, had sizing options and designs already made for our appointment. He still let me alter when needed and helped me find what I was looking for. Despite it being my first tattoo (about 3-4 hours), I hardly felt anything. He is very kind, professional, and clean. His conversations and attention to detail are exactly what I needed. I will definitely come back, 7 Souls lives up to all my expectations.

I had so much fun! Lauren made this an amazing experience. She was knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. There was very little wait time and she was busy. She made sure to clean my ears thoroughly and gave me time to decide where I wanted my piercings. I was done before the next customer was ready and I got six piercings. She was expeditious, but I didn’t feel rushed. I love my results and will be back next week for more. I totally recommend Lauren. The location was clean, the instruments all came in sterilized pouches with visible indicators, she handle the instruments gloved. I totally recommend the location.

Friday the 13th! enjoyed my experience, it was a first come, first served basis, so I was concerned with the wait, but the shop was well staffed, Erin was managing the line and moving customers along efficiently, and ensured the artists were fed! I got artist Chris Lopez - he gave me a colored “devils lettuce” he was gentle, quick and I LOVED how it came out, For a small tattoo he really brought it to life with color, shading and the white accents. Would recommend :)

I needed a cover up for a previous tattoo done here. No fault of the artist my body just didn’t react well to red ink. They were so considerate and helpful from the beginning of this process until the end. I got my coverup done by Martin and he is truly the best in the game. I am a black woman and I have a beautiful COLORED tattoo I have been told by multiple artists I’m too dark for any color other than red and I’m here to tell you that’s not true! Book Martin I’m in love with it and he took his time. He came in early to accommodate me and even switched to an earlier appointment date when my schedule freed up. I love my tattoo so much I can’t express it enough. I also loved Martin’s creativity and the ideas he suggested to me to make the tattoo better. I followed his advice and I don’t regret it. 1000/10 loved everything about my experience here. Don’t hesitate to book especially with Martin you won’t regret it!

Great experience! I have been wanting to reopen my piercing for a few years now, and it took me a while to decide on a location…glad I chose this place. Jerome was great! He is extremely knowledgeable and was patient in explaining everything, including helping me figure out what I wanted long term. They have a great atmosphere and everyone was very personable and took the time to greet incoming customers. Would definitely revisit!

Small shop in Downtown Jersey City that expanded next door to its original location. One of the 4 employees was actually helpful. Selection of piercing jewelry is limited and while it is a clean piercer I was not impressed by the overall nature. Parking is limited to street parking that is a pain to find opening spaces nearby so either walk or get dropped off.

She took time with me beforehand to make sure I was happy with what I chose. She put her touches on to the tattoo according to what I like. She was very gentle, patient and skilled. I took my son to get his ear pierced ( second one ) and we had the pleasure of going when Omar was working that day. There aren't enough good things to say about Omar , he was the absolute professional . He was so kind , patient and took his time preparing everything for my son. What I also appreciated so much was his attention to detail making sure everything was clean and sterile. My son sometimes gets nervous around needles but Omar made the entire experience so calm and enjoyable that my son was put at ease. I highly recommend coming here !

Before I begin, I just want to say everyone in the shop was super nice and maybe this was just an off day. I don’t usually write reviews but I feel like I had to say something. I’ve had my nose pierced (with a stud) for 5+ years and it’s never gotten infected before. I went into the shop hoping someone would help me change it to a hoop ring (which I purchased there). I asked for a small hoop, but once the ring was in it seemed to be way too tight. I asked the piercer multiple times if it looked right and he assured me, at least three times, that it was supposed to be that way and he would tell me if it was too tight. Maybe I should have asked for a bigger hoop while I was still there, but since he told me over and over that it looked normal and he would tell me if it didn’t - I trusted his advice. Over the next few days it was super sore and painful, which I understand is normal when going from a stud to a hoop but this felt like it was too much. I continued to clean it - but now it’s been a week. I just came back from a (DIFFERENT) piercing shop, because I hoped to change it to a bigger hoop - but the piercer recommended I go back to a stud for now because it was so infected. When she took off the old hoop, she was in shock about how tight it was on my nose. It even left an indent around my nostril. My goal is not to turn people away from this business because they’ve got a great thing going on - but please be sure to advise the right size jewelry for future customers, cause I threw away $25 dollars just for my nose to become infected ***update*** Erin (the shop manager) was nice enough to reach out to me promptly & offered me a sincere apology, asked how I'm doing & also gave me a refund which I really appreciate.

took my daughter to get her second ear piercing( right behind her original ear piercings) The place was very clean and Jerome did her piercing. They made me provide her Birth certificate to prove i was her mom and took a copy of it and my id. He took all the proper precautions using PPE and such. He was very gently and just overall nice and made her feel super comfortable. She didn't even make a face of pain . They came out beautifully! I think i'll be back to get a tattoo for myself! I’ve gotten two walk-in tattoos done (one by Claro and the other by Martin) and one walk-in piercing done by Omar. My daughter had her industrial piercing done by Max. He was incredibly patient, kind and quick; making her feel like an adult (which she was not!) but also ensuring he got her to understand how to properly take care of her first non-lobe piercing. In addition, we had a mixup/misunderstanding with the shop the first time we came in, and the manager (and Max) went well above and beyond to make sure that it was sorted out. Max did my ear piercing and he’s just great! He is very patient, listens to your need carefully, and follows good hygiene protocols. While the service was 5 star, the only reason I gave one star less is because they request for tip on the price for service plus the jewelry cost, which I don’t think is the right thing on their part. The tip should only be on service and not on product sale, as a general rule of thumb or ethic.

I was gifted a pair of earrings that I wanted to wear, so I called 7 Souls Tattoo to see if I could walk-in one afternoon to get my ear lobes re-pierced. The process: Omar was my piercer. I explained to Omar that I previously had my ears pierced with a piercing gun, and those piercings may have closed up, but I was unsure. For each ear lobe, he checked if my piercing closed before re-piercing my ears. For my left ear, the piercing was still open, so he was able to get a starter stud into my left ear lobe piercing. As for my right ear, the piercing closed, so he re-pierced my ear with a single-use hollow needle. It was quick, and the piercing felt like a pinch. So, pretty painless. Overall, the process went smoothly from the moment I stepped into the shop to when I stepped out with my ear lobes re-pierced and the saline solution in-hand. I would 100 percent recommend this shop for ear lobe piercings! I was informed and well taken care of.

This is the third time I am coming here for tattoo. Since my tattoo is small, I always just walked in. I have been lucky that I have not needed to wait for a long time. Dell, twice my artist, is great at creating the image based on my own description and worked patiently to resize it based on my body size. My Wonder Woman tattoo came out perfect! The facility is clean and spacious. I will come back when I want more tattoo done.

Let me start by saying I wanted a memorial for my husband that Passed 3 months ago and it was something unexpected I want to have art to honor him. Tyrone got I contact I explained what I desired and make an appointment. Place is great, clean and organized. He modified the design which I loved. Got a touch up done here in the summer and I’ve been left disappointed. The artist only did half the tattoo because he didn’t prepare for the whole thing. The part that was done was done well but some areas were missed completely. I waited a while to see if I felt ok with this new tat but I don’t. Also the shop was dark so I couldn’t see it all at the time. I paid $500 which was more than the original tat cost and only half of it done! Just not cool. Now I need to find another place to fix this… Also the shop needs to have better business communication- instead of just handing u off to a tattoo artist to discuss. They’ll all do different things instead of having a standard practice of how to communicate and what questions to ask. Further I think texting about a tat is just dumb u need an in person consultation so u can see and talk about the same thing at the same time…recommend this place only for new tat not touch ups

I googled piercing places in downtown JC and this one immediately popped up. I frequent downtown and always walked by and never thought of going in. Tattoo shops can be intimidating as I’ve had terrible experiences with the attitude of the shop crew. This place is completely opposite. Very welcoming, very chill and super informational. I have an artist that does all my tattoos so I have loyalty but… I was there getting a nose piercing and went back to buy jewelry and swap an ear piercing…. And there was there were two chicas tattooing and both looked incredible. I was able to see the final on one of the artists work… 10/10. Her work made me want to cheat on my artist. I genuinely am considering it. Anywho I would check this shop out and I would go again for additional piercings. The two gentleman that attended me were both great and patient. The front desk chic is super professional and just a refreshing good character to be the face of the place. Ok, enough love bombing this place… just go! You won’t regret it!

My piercer was OMAR ❤️ from start to finish he validated my ideas and worked with me through a style that was new to the both of us ! I got 3 piercings done at once (second lobe, conch, and faux rook) and let me tell you, it’s been a few hours and I’m honestly forgetting I got new piercings with how comfy my ears feel. Pain was made minimal even for someone sensitive like me, he made me feel so comfortable and badass in his chair even though I was nervous ! We made jokes and talked through the whole thing. And he made it quick and painless but worked with me at my pace which I appreciated. If I had the money I’d stick around to have a few more lol ! Affordable and extremely professional. I’ve been to Seven Souls JC twice now. I used to go to their sister shop in Ramsey, but after moving to Hoboken and then Jersey City, I started going to the Downtown Jersey City location. They’re absolutely amazing! They listen and work with you, and their Friday the 13th flash, which was my most recent visit, was very well organized and included great designs for only $31 + tip! The designs were also not strictly Friday the 13th/Halloween-type themed, which some flashes are. The shop manager, Erin (I believe), is so sweet and Angel and Martin (the only two artists I’ve worked with so far) are awesome. So kind and talented. I have about 30ish tattoos so far and will definitely going back to add to my collection.

I had a second one done in December 2021 and can't believe how great it looks! I had a pretty vague concept and Del was able to take the idea of what I wanted, add just the right amount of detail, and make it perfect. My most recent two were done in April, and even though I reached out rather last minute, the shop managed to find me a timeslot on the day I was looking for. Even though they had not opened for the day when I walked in the shop Erin, the manager was very kind and helpful. She paused a business call to assist me and answer my questions. She explained scheduling, pricing etc. gave me her card and was able to schedule my tattoo appointment with Martin for the next day. Martin had my drawing/artwork ready when I arrived. The shop was very clean, sterile etc. Martin was very personable, masked, wore gloves etc and prepared everything for the tattoo. The appointment was about 20 mins from start to finish. I am beyond happy and pleased with my tattoo. I followed their instructions for keeping it covered, washing with Dial etc and have had no problems. I highly recommend 7 Souls and plan on returning for another tattoo soon.

4 stars only because I booked a same day appointment since I was told there was availability with a tattoo artist at 5:30pm, but when I arrived the artist was still with a client. Unfortunately I had to wait an hour and ended up switching to the next available tattoo artist, since I already had a pre-designed tattoo I wanted. I've been to tat shops before and everyone would just stare in what seemed to be a monotone facial expression. Like, they were so bored. That's not the case at 7 Souls. I went to 7 Souls with my daughter a month ago, I got a tattoo and a cover up from Martin and my daughter got several tattoos by Del. I am ecstatic with my tattoos. The cover up was from a tattoo I had only gotten 4 months prior (at a different shop) which had healed horribly, it faded and scarred. Martin changed the design of the piece and made it 100x better, you’d never know it was the same tattoo, and my second piece was better than I had hoped for. My daughter felt comfortable with Del and his work was great as well, 2 of her pieces had been drawn by her and he keep true to her drawings and the end result was perfect. The whole shop, from Erin at the front to all the artists is top notch. You feel comfortable from the time you walk in the door, the place is immaculate and we felt completely at ease. We went back yesterday and this time my daughter saw Tyrone for a piercing-once again the whole experience was top notch. I recommend this shop literally to anyone whether it’s your first tattoo or your 21st. We will definitely be back for more!

One of my ear lobe piercings closed up that I first had done about 15 years ago. I called up 7 Souls to see if I could walk in (I did), and 20 minutes later I was in the chair getting my piercing. After I walked in the door the whole process (signing a waiver, picking jewelry, lil waiting period, checking out) took a max of 10 minutes. Everyone being super helpful and amazingly nice was also a plus. I don’t think I’ll be getting a tattoo, but if I decide to get anything else pierced I’ll definitely be back!

The staff at 7 Souls Tattoo is phenomenal. The piercer on site, Jerome, took care of my 6 month old daughter’s first ear piercings. He thoroughly explained the whole process from start to finish before starting and advised which way would be more appropriate to hold her during the whole process. Even though she cried, he was able to complete the process with no difficulty like a true master in his art. He then gave us detailed instructions on how to care for her piercing afterwards and gave us his card if we any questions. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because my piercer wasn't quite as forthcoming with information as I'd have liked - he was able to answer all my questions about jewelry changes, cleaning during healing, etc., but only after I'd asked. Make sure you educate yourself first about what to expect and what you don't know, since they might not be proactive in informing you on their own.

I had my rook pierced by Lauren four days ago and had a very pleasant experience. This was my first cartilage piercing, and she was very gentle with the whole process! I barely felt any pain or discomfort during or after. She talked me through the process, as well as what to do for the aftercare. Also, unrelated to the piercing process, the nerves really got to me once the process was over and I got a little dizzy lol, but the team was very nice about it, offered chocolate and water to make me feel better. Overall, really nice team, really clean place, and I had a very pleasant experience! I will definitely return if I decide to get more in the future! The moment I stepped in the shop she made me feel very welcome right away. She also made sure I liked the sizes of the tattoo designs and made adjustments when I requested it.
