Chill vibe the moment your walk in. Everyone is awesome. I've had several pieces done that have significant meaning for me and they're all absolutely beautiful. The artists love their craft and it shows in their attention to detail and their excitement to see the final work. No matter the wait, I'm loyal and won't be going anywhere else!! I've gone places where they couldn't care less if you're happy with your design and the artist doesn't work with you to create something you'll love forever. I'm OBSESSED. The ladies at the front are the sweetest ❤

Front desk staff is friendly. Studio is very near and clean! Tattoo artists are professional and make you feel comfortable during sessions. I would personally recommend Arthur. He had about a 3 month wait time but he fully designed my half sleeve based on picture ideas I provided him. We completed the project in 5 different 3 hour sessions.

I came in on a Saturday for a walk-in tattoo with a friend and although busy, they were able to get us both in in under an hour! Every person we interacted with was so incredibly nice, and made sure we were doing well. The shop is super clean and well maintained and our artists was fantastic and made sure everything was perfect before he let us leave. I will definitely be back in the future.

Came in to get a wedding ring tattoo. My artist was very patient and did an amazing job. I will definitely be coming back to this place for the rest of my tattooing needs. This tattoo was a trial to see if I should bring my wife here to get tattooed. She had never had a tattoo but had wanted one for over twenty years. She has always been too nervous to get one so I wanted to make sure that her experience would be comfortable before bringing her in. I will be bringing her in at the end of the week to get hers finally done. Service was amazing and shop was super clean.

Update: got my septum done and it was a quick and painless experience! She did an amazing job!! I can’t begin to describe how amazing this place is. I got my septum redone and the girl who did it was so swift it was almost painless! The shop is such a chill vibe with really knowledgeable staff! Very high quality jewelry selection as well! I had piercings from Bambi and Tattoos from Steve at this place. Both artists are amazing! Very good communication and such experts in their fields! This place also is one of the rare gems that takes walk-ins! So, if you want a tattoo or piercing now you can just go and have it instead of booking an appointment weeks or months out to wait on getting a tattoo. They have alot of artists to accommodate you. Front desk lady also is very efficient, there is no long wait because she's fast and takes care of everybody right away.

Got a double lobe from Corinne and everything went smooth! Very fast walk-ins even for a busy Friday, actual piercing time was easily under 10 minutes with roughly a 20 min waiting time (waitlist for piercings was about 3 people deep when I arrived). The studio was very sanitary and the titanium starter jewelry was wonderful (with a wide selection) as I’m allergic to silver. I felt comfortable even for it being my first piercing and very happy with the results. Corinne walked through everything she was doing, was knowledgeable and friendly and overall a wonderful experience. Quick, professional, clean and relatively painless! Worth the money to go to a professional shop and I’d definitely recommend Aloha Monkey. PS come prepared to pay in cash :) There is a 3.5% service charge for card and they appreciate cash

First time getting a piercing and this was the perfect place to go! I got a helix piercing and the staff were very comfortable, clear, and patient with my questions and the process as a first time piercer. They were kind and warm and showed excitement for the piercing. The piercer was calm, warm, and willing to take time to answer my nervous first time questions! Very reasonably priced, walk-ins (dont have to worry about appointment times) would highly recommend!

The I’ve had two different piercers since I’ve been going here one did my rook and one did my conch piercing. I love the conversations they have will me and they make sure I’m comfortable and try to make it less painful as possible. They have fast hands so their work is done and over with which is great. I love my piercings, they have heeled very nice. I will definitely be coming back.

My niece brought me here to get my nose pierced. At 51, I was a bit nervous. But Tara was awesome!! She was so fun and put me at ease. She told me each step she was doing and was gentle and quick. The shop was clean and the front desk gal was great! If your wanting a piercing, Definitely have Tara do it!

I have a mixed feeling on my experience here. I was not a huge fan of the first piercer. She’s good at what she does, but she was definitely very demeaning to me. I didn’t even realize how bad until I left. Either way- very talented and the piercing looks excellent. My next complaint is that I wish I would’ve known up front that I was going to have to pay for the initial piercing and 2 more jewelry changes. A super long bar was placed the first time and I was told to wait at least 4 weeks and come get it changed and I waited 2 months and came back and still a longer bar was replaced. She said to come back one more time. I paid $37.40 for that and then I will have to again one more time. So the piercing really costs way more than the initial cost which is just something I wasn’t expecting. I know it is done for a reason and completely understand, it just would have been nice to know up front. Lastly- a huge compliment to the woman working the front desk one Wednesday December 28th. She was like a complete work horse manning a never ending line and she was super kind and VERY efficient. I wish I had caught her name! Kudos to you though for completely rocking it! Overall, if I get another piercing- I will still visit Aloha Monkey, I just will go into it knowing more than I did this time.

I wanted to get my first tattoo and after doing research, I knew this was the place I wanted to go. I had met Josh out in Glacier and was thrilled when I found out he could do this. The idea that I had came to life when I was shown the design he came up with. I could not have been more pleased with the whole experience. Josh did a fantastic job and am I so glad I waited to go here for my first tattoo. The picture that I attached is right after it was completed. I still need to send a follow up picture, but absolutely love it!!!

Writing this review late, but sometimes I do that because it's less work now vs trying to update information later. Anyways the shop was busy as per usual, but the staff was friendly, the customers were excited and we didn't have much of a wait. I was there for another no piercing. Jewelry was priced fair, the piercer was friendly and engaging. They also sent a follow-up aftercare and reminder email. 4 weeks later and my nose is healing fine. I got my first piercing at AM 20 years ago when they were just a tiny lil shop in the strip with enough room for 4 people. Glad they are local and still doing great work

i got my septum done and i always love getting my piercings there! everyone is so nice and welcoming, the piercer is very considerate of your feelings and makes you feel super comfortable! i have a history of fainting during piercings and tara made the changes on the piercing bed to make sure i wouldn’t fall if i did faint amazing place and i will forever go here for piercings !!

A neighbor recommended and I’m so glad I listened! I’ve been looking to get a super meaningful piece for a long time and when I saw Analyn’s bio, I knew she was the artist I wanted. The day of was smooth. Front desk friendly. Super clean place (including the bathroom!) and for someone fairly new to the tattoo world, I was nervous about stepping inside … and it was great. But the best part… Analyn! She took my 2 pictures and merged them together beautifully. My tattoo is incredible and she was great. I told her around what I was looking to spend on the tattoo and she did not disappoint. I have gotten my nose pierced here before and it was very clean, she was very quick and helped me stay calm. I then decided to have my boyfriend and I get our tattoos here, since I had a good experience. It was wonderful, very good experience! The only problem was we had to wait awhile (we did a walk-in) but i’m not going to give any less stars for the wait. The tattoo artists did such a good job! Matt and Jordan did a beautiful job for helping us feel comfortable and making good relations with us. Our next tattoos, we will definitely come back to Aloha Monkey.

My friend & I can in to get 2 tattoos each. When we called a week's before we were told for the tattoos we wanted it would be walk in only. We showed up at 1115am. We didn't get out tattoos started until almost 4pm. This was frustrating because my friend was here visiting from 9hours away. We witnessed other walk ins come in and leave. Maybe because theirs were smaller tattoos? But one would think that if you got the first people in as soon as you could you would be able to get more people in. And we both had to get tattooed by the same person? He did awesome but the wait was so frustrating.

Verbal care instructions were clear and also were emailed to me. Bought the spray that was recommended for after care. Seems to be doing its job.

Matt was kind, explaining, calming. I appreciated his personality. And, it didn't hurt. I forgot to mention the video and paper directions don't match. For example, paper days use lotions, video days use coconut oil, doesn't recommend lotion.

Linework tattoo was done beautifully and in like 30 min with minimal pain and is healing very nicely. It’s about 3 inches across so big enough. Artist worked with me to choose a good size. I would definitely recommend, especially to people that are newer to getting tattoos. They have a good friendly vibe that puts you at ease. If you’re doing a walk-in though, come early and be ready to wait. They’re popular so when I’ve gone there’s been an impressive line even before opening. :)

David Kvam has done both of my tattoos (one at Aloha Monkey, one elsewhere) and I love how they turned out. Aloha Monkey deleted the email with my picture between my consult and actual appointment But, when I showed up for my appointment David took the time to sketch it when I showed him what I wanted. It still turned out great. The 5-star rating is for David more than the establishment. However, once I approved the sketch, I felt comfortable and they do a great job of making sure everything is clean and ready before tattooing.

got my belly button piercing done here and it was done very well! i initially wanted to get a frenulum (under the tongue) piercing, but the piercer identified that i didn't have enough webbing there to pierce as it would be a risk to just pierce anything underneath the tongue. my belly button was my backup piercing, and they were very professional and got it done quickly and fairly painlessly. 3/10 on the pain scale.

One randomly got infected so I called Aloha Monkey right before close to get some advice. Bambi was so kind and sensitive - gave me some advice to get through the night and he recommended I come in so he could take a look. Saw him right away the next day. It was a busy Saturday but he took his time and I never felt rushed. I chose to get my first tattoo from David Kvam at Aloha Monkey because I’d heard from several friends that they did top-notch work, even though they were expensive. First, the tattoo itself is perfect. I’ve tried to find flaws in it (after watching a bunch of Inkmaster and thinking I knew what I was doing) but the line work is nice and thick, without bumps or dots, and the shading flows nicely from black to gray to skin, giving good texture. I brought him a design to copy and I was shocked by how well he reproduced it on skin, using a tattoo gun. As for experience, it was excellent. Every time I saw Dave, he was wearing a mask, and he wore one throughout our session; not because I asked him to or anything, but because he takes safety seriously, for himself and his clients. He guided me through the process without condescending to me at all (which has happened to me several times before - Dave didn’t mind that it was my first tattoo) and was focused on his work the entire time. While it was painful, as tattoos are, it healed super quick and really nicely. Barely any scabbing, and almost no itch. I can’t compare it to others yet, but I expected the process to be more brutal and painful than it was. The shop itself is very clean, and the front staff pleasant. They’ve got some awesome work on the walls and plenty of flash, if that’s what you want. It was an expensive tattoo, but no more than you’d pay for any true tattoo artist to do great work. I only wish it was cheaper so that I could afford to tip Dave more!

I visited Aloha Monkey to get a tongue piercing. Entering the establishment I noticed that it is very clean and there is plenty of artwork to look at if you have to wait in line. The receptionist is very polite and attentive. My piercing was done by Robin. She was very friendly and professional. She performed her job quickly but with care. She was thorough in explaining proper aftercare and the do’s and don’t when healing a tongue piercing. And after two weeks, my piercing looks great thanks to Robin <3 On my second visit to have my tongue ring switched out, the service I experienced was equally as great. My friend and I have been here a couple of times for piercings and the staff have been great! The second time we came in, the front of my piercing had gotten lodged back into my skin which was a pretty painful experience. I felt more at ease and that I was in good hands though when I came to get it fixed. The guy who helped me let me put a larger stone on the front so a similar incident wouldn’t happen again (I was only given the option for a tiny stone the first time) and he made it a more lighthearted experience for me, I felt I was well taken care of!

Came in for a tattoo...1st in line for walk-ins, waited two hours while three people went in front of me. Gave them my tattoo idea (a fern) when I got there, only to be told two hours later that I needed an appointment. This was supposed to be my birthday tattoo and I waited two months to come with my adult son. Left with no tattoo. Very poor customer service and honestly, after this experience I'd never get a tattoo here.

We got each other’s names on our fingers and we know finger tattoos aren’t always going to hold but we both literally have steong beginning of our names and the ends are so faded/not deep enough that they are almost gone. Got my naval piercing done here. They all were very professional and nice. 😊 I could immediately recognize that the piercer I had was very educated about her job and was super caring. She made sure to let me know that I could call her or come in if any problems were to arise. Seems like such an obvious thing to do for customers, but I guess for some it's not. I've had previous experiences with piercers who don't want anything to do with you after they're done and any problem you may run into is on you. I wish I had known about this place sooner before wasting my money at other places that pierced me poorly!

I am fairly new to the piercing world I was feeling a bit brave and went in today with my mom to have my Daith done. The receptionist was extremely nice and when I sheepishly asked her “does it hurt?” She was nice and calmed me down right away by saying it was just some quick pressure. We went then after a very short waiting period into the piercing rooms, where Adrianna? (I think that’s what her name was) walked us through the proper aftercare, and assured me it would all be okay. The piercing itself barely hurt at all and it was over before I knew it. She had steady hands and was very professional and friendly. Had an amazing experience here and would definitely go back and recommend to others!

I first came to this shop back in ‘06. Josh...the owner did my first half sleeve. I was so impressed with the quality of my tattoo and craftsmanship that went behind it. Josh is an amazing dude. I have been going back ever since my first experience at Aloha. I have also been inked by Matt. An artist who also is very talented, down to earth, and will make sure you’re getting the best in what you asked for. I read some of the other reviews that are negative and for over 10 years now..never had any of those issues or experiences that were negative or disrespectful. Those reviewers were probably A-holes anyway with nothing better to do then complain and whine. Anyways...I just had my hand done with another piece by Matt today. Awesome as usual. Nice to see Josh too. And the girls at the front are Mega Awesome too. Overall, best shop I’ve been too and I’ve been to others and there’s a reason why I keep coming back. No it’s not because of the super cute girls at the counter, well maybe just alittle 😝, but the artists there really do exceptional work and can relate to a personal level as well. You guys are amazing.

The piercing specialist was super professional and pleasant. She took extra steps to be safe and clean and was able to take us as a walk in. While in the waiting room a young adult was there to get her first tattoo and the artist quoted her $250 for a butterfly smaller than my palm. The rest of us in the waiting area gave her the advice to go elsewhere. I just got an entire Phoenix tattooed on my forearm and only paid $225 with a licensed artist in MN. So.. I would maybe prepare to pay a bit more for ink here. That's why I gave 4 stars. If I had not witnessed what I thought was an attempt to rip off a young lady I would have definitely given a 5.

If it was a different time, I’d give five stars. The service was great. However, they’re not following state standards for Covid. I didn’t see anything In place to protect customers. Everyone who works there must have a “health condition” so they don’t wear masks. And you can just say you have one too. It says this on the door. I wish I had known when I booked my appointment. I would’ve given my money (very expensive for lobe piercing!) to another small business who regardless of their political beliefs, follows standards to protect people during a pandemic

Really liked the front desk staff. Had called in prior to stopping by and they answered all my questions. On arrival, they were friendly and helpful. Suggested we might want to leave since there would be a wait but would give us a call when our turn was closer. Really appreciated that!! When we returned we had a short wait until our person was ready. Really wish I could remember his name but I can’t. We had provided examples of what we wanted and the location and the relative size. He returned after a couple of minutes with our pictures (which were very simple) and asked them to be slightly smaller. I am not sure how much of an artist he was (I am not trying to be cruel here, just stating my opinion). I don’t believe he could hand draw these simple drawings and seemed to rely heavily on the use of the copy machine. The reason I believe this is because I asked to have a tiny heart added to the drawing and was told ‘no, that wasn’t possible’. When I was getting my tattoo he did everything he was supposed to, cleaned the area, checked if I was ok after he started, however he was not personable. It made me sad. I tried asking him a few questions and he just seemed a bit annoyed. I was listening to the other clients and artists laugh and talk and they seemed to be having the experience I was wanting. Ultimately I am happy with my tattoo, however, perhaps not so thrilled with the experience.

I decided I wanted my ear cartilage pierced, and in the past went to Claires. My experience at Claires was painful, the piercing got infected and closed. For the first time in my life I nervously decided to go to a tattoo parlor. All I have to say is WOW! about 2 weeks ago I finally got the nerve to get the septum ring. Before coming in I sent in an email explaining what I was looking for in a septum ring and why i wanted it. I received a speedy and well explained reply from the ladies their and I was reassured that this was the place for me to get my piercing. I was very nervous about the process and the pain but Adrianna explained the process and it went exactly like she said it would. It was quick and easy and I absolutely LOVE my piercing. I received my first tattoo from Josh Arment back in 2007 and was recommended to him by a friend. I couldn’t be more please with that tattoo. 12 years later I am in the process of receiving a half sleeve and would not recommend a better artist. I moved to Pittsburgh and worked with Josh on the phone and by email and was very accommodating. He allowed me to make the changes I wanted during the first session. He takes so much pride in his work I would recommend to everyone. They also have a new parlor which is super nice, the ladies work up front are super professional and easy to schedule with. I’ve had a helix piercing before which was done at Claire’s(suuuuuper bad I know but I was young and dumb). Robin let me know of the aftercare instructions and I’ve been following them. I love that they offer to swap your piercing after it heals also. Definitely will be back!!!!!!

So i then did a little more research on my next payday and read about Aloha Monkey Tattoo... Typically it's not hard to find a business that has about a 50/50 split of good/bad reviews. But I swear, I looked and looked and found maybe one bad review and it wasnt because of quality or professionalism... It was because of having to wait or something. That same day I get home from work and cruise to this place not even knowing if I'd make it in time.. I cut it close but from the moment I walked in i didn't have to ask a single question because they were right with it. To get same day service especially when it comes to tattooing, and for it to actually be quality work (and quick!) I was overly impressed. So much so I now got an Aloha Monkey Tattoo cross sticker repping on my tailgate. 10/5 stars for these folks here. Tattoo is mow healed and looks better than what I could've imagined. The lady who did my piercing was quick, fast and a true professional. I can’t remember her name but I would go back to her again. I had never been there before so I didn’t know I had to sign in. I learned this after standing in a 20 min line. They should have a sign on the door. Once signed in, I had to get back in a long line then I waited a long time. Maybe they could have 2 people that pierce on the weekend. Update: August 13th, 2021 - went to go get my piercing changed to a ring instead of a stud. Customer service was awesome. The other 2 times I had women who were awesome with the piercings. This time I had a man that changed my nose ring. He was awesome. Literally every interaction I’ve had at this place has been wonderful. They’re professional piercers. If I had make-up on I would show it, but I don’t. Lol. Have a good day!

She was super nice, I let her know I was nervous and she didn't even give me time to be scared because she did it so fast! It’s a great place to get a tattoo, I love the environment of the place; everyone is so kind and understanding. I love that it’s walkins, the only downside I can think of is the price. It’s quite spendy, whether it was because of quarantine or not I don’t know. But they take their time, give you advice on how to take care of the tattoo, and you can tell they all know what to do and love their jobs. Nothing but great things about this place, just know that they do like exact pictures on what you would like, they aren’t much of a “just do what you would like with it, or what you think would look best” kind of place, so just know exactly what you want when you go in. Loved it here, will definitely go again.

So I went to aloha and my artist did the consultation and we set a date I came back and he drew up exactly what I wanted. They were on time it was clean.
