I just happened to find Guns N' Needles while searching for a tattoo parlour on google. It had a good rating and great reviews so I just decided to go for it. The inside is very nice and professional, and it wasn't intimidating at all. What impressed me the most was the service. So I'm normally a little comical about my reviews, but in all seriousness, I had been thinking about getting a tattoo honoring Hecate for a long time. I am a pagan witch and her teachings mean a lot to me. My silver birthday was fast approaching and another friend of mine pointed out (2 days before my birthday while we were out of town) that my birthday was the new moon (Hecate is a new moon goddess), in Pisces (my sign). I called as soon as they opened on my birthday and Ashley picked up, telling me to come in and try for a walk-in (I messaged or called 5 other places none of which got back to me at all). I came and Ciel was available, and talk about being in the right place at the right time. He worked incredibly hard to make the tattoo perfect and I couldn't be happier with it! Guns N' Needles will always have a special place for making such an amazing thing happen for me on such short notice. The work is thorough and all the artists in staff that day were just as thorough and thought out with their clients as Ciel was with me. They're very sanitary, thorough and personable. I can't wait to get my next piece! You guys are the best. Thanks again Ciel, you honestly did something so special for me and I can't properly express my gratitude.

I’ve only gone to Eryn Ehli for my tattoos. She’s absolutely amazing to work with. She makes sure everything is perfect & that you are comfortable in every way, both with the tattoo & while sitting the in chair. She really listens to you & is honest about aging, fading & everything else about the tattoo in general. Eryn has done beautiful line work & shadowing on all 4 of my tattoos. Anything from a realistic skull to a simple shape is done clean & precisely. The conversations we have while she’s tatting me are also so genuine & comical. At this point Eryn is the only person I really trust to get my tattoos done by & every time I walk away absolutely loving them!

My friend and I called one weeknight and we’re able to get in right away. We had an amazing experience and can’t say enough good things about Guns and Needles! The space is inviting, nice looking, and clean. They took great COVID precautions - had one of us in at a time, social distanced, wore masks, covered the iPad that we entered our information on in single use plastic, and sanitized everything really well. I worked with Shane - he was incredibly nice, easy to talk to, welcoming, and professional. He explained the aftercare process very well and gave me a helpful bag of goodies to take care of it. This was my 4th tattoo and it was definitely my best experience. I will for sure be coming back here in the future!

I highly highly recommend coming here, if you’re looking for a quality tattoo place, that takes great precaution in safety and client comfort! The location is easy to get to, by bus or by car, and the staff is always friendly and prompt with appointment times. I got my first tattoo there today with BetsyK, and she did a phenomenal job. I came in and got my first tattoo here and it was a wonderful experience. I was a walk-in, and it was a Saturday, but I was immediately greeted and was able to get in that very day. My work was done by Betsy, an apprentice at the shop, and it looks fabulous. From start to finish it was a wonderful experience. I rarely write reviews, but the professionalism, customer service, communication, flexibility, and talent at this place are too exceptional to not share! My experience working with Bama for my first tattoos was seamless, informative, and so fun. She went above and beyond with managing my expectations from our first consultation. I knew nothing about tattoos, expectations about their longevity, or considerations for location. Bama was patient and refreshingly candid about challenging me to think about what my tattoo would look like in 5, 10, 20 years based on location, size, and design elements chosen now. She took a vision I've long had for a tattoo and turned into something more beautiful than I could have imagined. And she was receptive and enthusiastic when we made several small adjustments before settling on the final design. Bama is knowledgeable, intuitive, and skilled, and she truly cares about her clients' satisfaction. Also, just a kind soul and good human...which is so needed these days. :)

Ian from Guns n Tattoos is amazing! Ian worked with me from day one, making sure he drew up a design that incorporated all of my wants. He also offered up some of his own advice, but completely left the final decision up to me. When I went in for the tattoo, Ian made me feel so relaxed and non-pressured. He did a fantastic job with my tattoo and making sure I was comfortable and relaxed. The end product is amazing, and better than I ever imagined. In my opinion there is no need to look anywhere else for your tattoo needs. The shop itself is a great mixture of cool, clean, and comfortable. You definitely don't feel like your getting a tattoo in your your friend's cousin's garage. Everything is clean all they way down to the bathrooms. At the same time, however, you aren't getting a tattoo at your grandma's house either. The vibe in the shop is cool...from the snap on tool chests to the art on the walls to the neon signs, its a place you feel comfortable hanging out in. The crew is top of the line. Not only in their skills as great artists, but they are great people. They never make you feel weird or uncomfortable, by the time you leave, you feel like you just got some great art from a friend. They work together and truly want everyone to have a great experience. I had 3 other tattoo artists in their shop look at my piece before Rog even started. I don't have a lot of tattoos. I just got my second piece done by Rog and I love it! But I do have ideas of more ink in the future, and there is not doubt that I will be back to Guns N' Needles to have it done. Great Art Clean environment Great people I'd recommend Guns N' Needles to anyone, whether you are a first timer or someone looking for their 100th tattoo or anywhere in between, get it done at Guns N' Needles!

Ciel was awesome!!! He last minute fit my both boyfriend and I in for appointments on the same night. We couldn’t be in at the same time due to covid restrictions but he worked it out so we could go right after each other which was great. He worked with my idea and gave super helpful recommendations. I had a very pleasant experience at Guns N' Needles, they were so accommodating and even got me in the same day I called to make an appointment! The facility is clean and inviting and the staff is friendly. I appreciated the honest input about my tattoo idea and placement. They use this really neat healing adhesive bandage/wrap when it's done that seemed to speed up the healing process. I also liked how a week after the tattoo they texted me to see how it was healing. I highly recommend!

After moving from out of state, I had to find a new tattoo shop - so glad I came here. I stopped in on a Sunday afternoon and talked with Ian then came back the following week for my tattoo. The place is clean and everyone was friendly. Ian followed up with me several times to see how my tattoo was healing. I love my new tattoo and have many compliments already from people. Thanks Ian! Side note: I love the Tatuderm they use for covering freshly done tattoos-I've had a bad reaction in the past to a shop that used plastic medical tape to hold down the cover-actually got hive. No problems at all with this stuff!

I had an excellent experience here! This was my first tattoo and I was really nervous about who to go to, but I was so impressed by their service! The shop was so clean and really professional. I had mine done by Ian and he was great! He kept me really calm during the whole thing because I was terrified. They are a bit pricey, but trust me it's worth it! They gave me this great healing product for afterwards and it made it so easy to clean and heal. There was no irritation or issue at all. I would definetely go back.

I had a fabulous experience with Guns N Needles Tattoo. From consultation to aftercare, these guys did a great job. I came in on a Saturday afternoon asking about walk-in availability for a tattoo that was way too complicated for a walk-in, but still I was received graciously and the guys in the shop did their best to get me scheduled in asap (which ended up being, amazingly, the next day... so, a Sunday, which seems cool to me.) I worked with Travis, who was awesome. During the consultation, his expectations were straight-forward and he asked the right questions to help me clarify my vision for the tattoo. When I came in to get the tattoo the next day, he was even better. He was the most communicative artist I've ever worked with, consistently asking me questions to gage my comfort, and easily adjusting both to my varying pain threshold and my occasional efforts to distract from the pain with small talk. I also appreciated his openness with each part of the process. There were no short answers or condescension. The aftercare explanation was excellent--very clear, which was particularly important because the bandages they used were unlike ones I'd seen before. Re: aftercare -- the bandages they use are super cool, designed to protect your tattoo from oxygen and contaminants to make sure it heals fast (!!) and to minimize pain. Not sure why every shop is not required to use these. They're the best. The work was very reasonably priced, and I love the tattoo. I won't need another shop in the future.

This place was recommended by a friend who has a lot of ink, so I thought it would be the place to check out for my first tattoo. A friend and I went (neither of us had gotten tattoos before), and the experience was much more enjoyable then I was expecting. LOVED this shop. They give you a very delicate, unique healing bandage that allows your tattoo to heal from the inside out, which I've never seen at another shop. You will love it! Super clean atmosphere, amazing staff, great music. Come here and you will not be disappointed, nor will you be getting ripped off like other places in the Twin Cities that I won't mention… Come in and get poked by Uncle Rog ;)

These guys had the best sense of humour while keeping me completely informed. They were extremely patient in making sure that my tattoo was everything I wanted before proceeding. I've been coming to GNN for a year and a half now and couldn't be happier with the results. Uncle Rog has done almost an entire sleeve for me and it turned out absolutely amazing! (I say almost an entire sleeve because I had one previous tattoo which was actually the reason I first came into the shop. I was unhappy with the tattoo I had gotten at another shop and wanted Rog to make it look a bit better-and that he did!) The shop is extremely clean and all the artists are very outgoing and professional. I honestly will not go anywhere else to get tattooed after coming here. Rog is my man but all of the artists are very talented so you can't go wrong with whoever you choose! If you like getting tattooed and also laughing and having a good time while doing it, then this is definitely the place for you!

Called and was given the explanation to come in because some of the artists would be finishing soon and would be able to give me a quote and go over the tattoo with me. As soon as I arrived I was greeted professionally and offered water or drink during my wait. 1 minute later I met Uncle Rog. He squeezed me in immediately on a Saturday and had me out of the building in less than an hour. The shop is immaculate and the staff are incredibly knowledgable. Uncle Rog hooked me up with some great lines and kept the design true to the original artist's design. VERY IMPRESSED and will be coming back for more soon. I highly recommend this shop. This is the first tattoo shop I have been to where I felt extremely comfortable. I got a tattoo from Uncle Rog about 5 years prior and knew then he would be "my tattoo guy" His work is always excellent! I was impressed with not only the shop but also the other artist. I don't think I've laughed for 5 hours straight....ever. I walked away extremely happy with my tattoos. My fiancée also got a tattoo from Travis and just WOW! We're headed back in a few weeks to get inked again....and again, when you find artists this good, it becomes so easy :)

The work was done by a shop apprentice named Betsy who was very friendly through our (albeit short) session. The environment is very clean, friendly and welcoming. I had the greatest, most comfortable experience at Guns N’ Needles tattoo. They are very friendly. When you walk in and met with their staff, they offer you a soda or water. The hospitality of their staff is incredible. I have a sleeve on my arm. Uncle Roger is my artist. I met with Roger, told him my ideas of what I wanted. He drafted an amazing design which I proudly sport on my arm now. The staff at Guns N’ Needles are fun and friendly. I would recommend this shop to anyone looking to get a tattoo!! I have sat in many different shops since the late 90's and these guys by far have the best atmosphere to get tattooed in. I came to this shop with a idea. When I walked into the doors, I was greeted right away with a friendly hello. I was helped in every aspect I could wish I had been.The staff offered drinks and had a bowl of candy to share with potential customers. The staff was very polite and down to earth. They listened to the ideas and wants I had. They gave me tips and pros and cons of certain areas and the healing process. I had my own ideas, and I wanted to let the artist take that idea and make it their own in a sense. They did that with all of my ideas I bring in. Upon leaving, I was giving a very knowledge filled crash course in after care to obtain the best looking tattoo I could have. Hands down this is an amazing shop with amazing standards with the work they do and how they up-keep the shop. I would highly recommend this place to any one who is thinking or wanting a tattoo!

I'm a Georgian and was in town for a wedding event. I usually get tattoos whenever I'm away on a trip and want to bring back memories to keep. Well I spent my time calling around for great tattoo parlors in the area and all of them weren't as nice on the phone. Then I looked up Guns N' Needles and this very nice sounding lady who said "sure come on in with your idea and we will start there"! So I walk in the parlor and said hey I'm here for a tattoo (LOL obviously👌🏾👏🏽) and the same nice sounding lady said yes I remember you. She politely introduced herself as ASHLI DICKERSON and handed me her business card and asked that email the art work to her. She quickly drew the first tattoo up for me and then of course I threw a curve ball at her and was like "hey I also want another tattoo can we make it happen?" Ashli was so nice and said sure anything you want. I simply told her that by far this had been the best experience I've had thus far with dealing with artists in MN. Ashli and Ian (other artist on duty) were so welcoming and accommodating to me even as a last minute walk-in. They offered me a beverage from the refrigerator and best part was that is was totally FREE!!! The whole establishment was inviting and clean! I mean there wasn't a spec of dust in sight (Literally could eat off the floor and not be worried). When I caught wind that Ashli was the manager on duty, I had to let it be known that she is both a awesome artist and manager all in one! IF YOUR IN MN LOOKING TO GET INKED - GO SEE ASHLI AND IAN!!!!!!! I was completely confident in Ashli's artistic skills that I trusted her with my two pieces (Adinkra symbol and a rose). Which both turned out to be awesome. If you want to have a good experience (fun yet professional), laugh and have great results....please come and see Ashli Dickerson at Guns N' Needles! I just had my first tattoo done @ GnN and the entire experience was AMAZING!!!!! I have been to many tattoo/piercing shops around the Twin Cities and when I walked in to GnN for my consult I was absolutely blown away with how immaculate their shop is!!!!! It was so nice and clean and organized (I used to clean houses for a side job and I currently work in healthcare so my standard is pretty high). Uncle Rog is the best!!! He took the time to explain everything to me during the consult and even when I went back to have the tat done. He followed up with me like a week or so later to see if it was exactly what I wanted. Friday the 11th was my 3rd all day session with Ashli Erickson. She is an awesome person and an amazing tattoo artist. Ashli is super friendly, professional and does not waste any time. She is very meticulous. Her lines are solid and super straight. My sleeve of leaves has color and not one of my leaves has less than 3 colors. Before Ashli started my tattoo, I came to her with an idea. I told her I wanted a sleeve of fall leaves. The first time I saw her drawing I was so excited! The drawing looked better than I could have even imagined! It was so detailed. Ashli spent multiple hours drawing up my sleeve. She researched many different leaves, the colors they turn, and what tree the leaf belonged to. I have one more session until my sleeve is complete, but that won’t be the last time Ashli tattoos me. I would and will recommend Ashli to anyone who is thinking about getting a tattoo; big or small, Ashli will make it perfect :)

WOW. Seriously. From the shop itself to the staff, this is the most comfortable I have felt with the art being tattooed on me-out of all the shops I've been to over the years. This is not a "copy and paste" shop. I came to Uncle Rog with a few pictures and an idea. He was honest about what would work, and what wouldn't-he truly had my best interest in mind. He took my idea, and made it something that is unique to me, drawing up several sketches over the course of a week. After I saw what he had drawn up for me, I couldn't wait to get started. What an all around great experience! First of all the place itself is what gives you that initial first impression. CLEAN from top to bottom. I like that a lot. The decor,layout,and equipment in the place from Snap-On tool boxes to James Brown tunes being pumped out over the speakers I thought was unique and added to the enjoyment. I first visited Guns N' Needles with a friend who was getting a tattoo done by Brian. After spending a couple hours talking with Brian and watching him work I knew I found my new home for getting more work done. My husband knew Jinx (Brian) from previous job Brian had. He said I should check out Brian's shop. We had artwork in hand and he made it better then the artwork we had. I brought my son in for his "Golden Birthday" tattoo his 18th. Jinx had just got his license from the state and he did a very wicked Scorpion for my son. (His birth sign) It's one of the best tattoo's I have ever seen. The next day was a Monday and Jinx took time out of his day to do mine. I had to get one from him after I saw the work he had done for my son. This experience with my son put Gun's N' Needles in to the paper (Star and Tribune) because I recorded Jinx working on my son and said I wasn't going to post this on Youtube but I did. A free lance writer for the paper googled Mother getting son his first tattoo or something like that and my video came up first and it went on from there. It was such a awesome feeling seeing my son on the front page of the Saturday Paper! When he did mine I had art and he came up with exactly what I was thinking. He is a genius when it comes to tattooing. He will always be my artist and I always recommend him to my friends. The place is clean and Jinx was very professional the whole time. I have been wanting more ink really bad! I have a tribute tattoo in mind of my dog. Just have to save up enough money to come and see Jinx again. If you want a tattoo go to Gun's N' Needles they are the best and this is from a person who has been to a few artist in the city.
