Talk about a piece of $hit. The "artist" Walter Scrugg, did this master piece with such a articulated finesse. Not only did he seem annoyed right off the back, but when we asked for simple colors to be added to the piece he gave us attitude along with a scuff. This experience was so bad it made my fiance cry and I did not want to even get my tattoo from this artist. We will now have to pay out more money to get this garbage work fixed and looking like a proper tattoo. I would advise anyone getting a tattoo from this place to choose someone other than Walter. Updated: A artist named Sara reached out to help us. We orginally wanted her cause she does great work. Once again she did amazing work. Not only did she fix the original piece but also did an amazing job on mine. We both love our tattoos and loved the experience. Everyone was nice the first time besides the original mentioned artist and everyone was nice this time. Check them out, and give Sarah and Brad a look they have great art portfolios.

Walter did my tattoo and I couldn't be happier. He was very chill and at one point I wasn't feeling well so he took a break got something for me cause I needed sugar and waited till I was good and got back to it and did an amazing piece for me. If and when I get another I will definitely come back because he did absolutely amazing and would definitely recommend

This place is simply awesome. My wife has gotten a tattoo and several piercings done here. I have gotten 2 piercings done here and Sara is simply the best. She is the only one I'll go too. The employees here are great and friendly. If you have a question they have problem answering it for you. I would give this place 10 stars if I could.

I am very particular about ink. It's a huge decision for me. I've always had lots of people suggest Sara; quite a few friends who are wearing her art. I am now wearing her art and am so happy. I came in with my design, she executed it flawlessly. It was a difficult decision on whether I would use this design or something more basic. When she saw the design and got excited about it with me, it shows passion in her work. After completion, she is by far one of the best artists around here. All of her work looks great! The shop itself is always clean. The staff is super friendly. They treated us with respect and made us feel at home. Thanks to all of you!

I definitely recommend Brad! I've had a lot of experience with tattoo artists that either don't care or are elitist (in fact, I ended up here for a coverup), but Castle of Color is one of the two parlors that I'd return to. Brad cares about giving you a tattoo that looks good. If a design isn't going to translate well to a tattoo, he will let you know and work with you to get something that will look and age well, but he also won't talk down to you about it. The prices for the work you're getting done is beyond fair as well. I've been to several parlors in Lexington and I think you'd be hard pressed to find anywhere that will get you as much value for your money. Brad definitely took a tattoo that made me miserable and made it into a conversation piece that's boosted my confidence!

I haven't been in quite some time. My last visit before they changed the name of the place, was back in the early 90's. I got my eyebrow pierced and it eventually fell out about 2 years later. The metal ate through my skin somehow drying it out without my knowledge. I was watching tv and something fell into my lap. It was the eyebrow, same one they used. I never changed it.

I one million percent recommend them! I’ve had tons of piercings done but they by far are the most honest, straight forward place I’ve ever been. She spoke with me for 20 minutes about a new piercing I’ve never had done. I have dermals as well as tons of other piercings but I’ve never had an “Ashley” she took her time, was honest with me and I winded up getting the “Ashley” as well as another dermal. I love love love this place!

This place is fantastic! Super nice people, very clean and nice pricing. I was super impressed. One of my roommates got her first tattoo here, the artist was amazing, did exactly what she asked and it healed perfectly. Another got her belly button pierced and she loves it. I went back two weeks later (originally on a day they didn't have a piercer so I got $10 off which was amazing considering it was my fault I didn't look before going) and got two piercings and my experience was also amazing. He could tell I was nervous and was incredibly nice and explained every step. Super comfortable and welcoming environment and super fast. I 100% recommend Castle of Color for both tattoos and piercings.

First, after experiencing a tragic event, although they were very busy with limited staff due to COVID19 guidelines, they were very accommodating and were able to find a time slot to fit me in. The date was very significant to the experience of my first (and most likely only tattoo at 37 years old). Secondly, the shop is super clean and Brad was very welcoming when I came in to explain my apprehension and the need for someone super patient. Not only am I a wuss, but I'm terrified of needles. Thirdly, Stewart NAILED IT! I spent hours designing exactly what I wanted to every detail. All single thing line work for the most part. He replicated it perfectly and his lines were as close to perfect as the human hand can get. He made me feel comfortable from the get go with his sarcasm and jokes. It was the experience I never thought I'd have but exactly what I needed. I am not only very pleased with the tattoo but also the experience overall. If I were to ever get another one, Castle of Color and Steward absolutely will have my business.

If I needed a break they allowed one and made me feel very comfortable and important. Castle of color is amazing and if you’re not sure what kind of tattoos you want or the right placing for them the staff will guide you and help you along. Fun environment!! I went late on a Friday and they had music going, they were busy, (which is good) and offered very fast service! I had a nose piercing done and it didn't hurt at all... literally, not even a little bit. This is because the staff knows what they are doing! With the piercing, the jewelry and aftercare is included in the price!

I got a nose piercing and a small wrist tattoo in the same day. I believe Sarah was the name of my piercer, she was awesome and gave me everything I needed for the healing process, along with explaining them. I don't remember the name of the man who did my tattoo, but he had long brown hair, and had action figures of horror characters in his room. He did just fine on my tattoo, but when he was finished, he handed me the cream and walked out without saying anything. I had to get his attention to ask how often I wash it. He didn't give me any information on the healing process, I basically left with no idea of how to care for my tattoo. Luckily I have 2 others so I had some idea of what to do, but it was rude and I didn't appreciate it. I would happily return for another piercing, but never again for my tattoo.

My second tattoo by them! And more than pleased and satisfied. Service is always amazing very friendly atmosphere. Lost my granddaughter in February and wanted a portrait done of her. Nervous about the outcome but Stewart did an amazing job. Today is May13th and I'm changing my rating. Simply because today I call to see if my guy Stewart had a time he could get me in to finish my tattoo. Girl that took my call said looks like around 6. So I asked if I could lock that time in. She said no same day appointments that I could come in. So I do so but when I get there at 6 she tells me that it will be a while longer that someone had come in before me. Ok?? She offered to take my name and number and would call when something opened up. Now I'm confused??? Why did she not do that when I call instead of having me drive 30 min out there for nothing. Poor service. Dont think I will be back!

Great place! Everything was very clean and we'll lit when we came in. I was able to walk in and get a nose piercing all in about 30 minutes. Staff was nice and helpful and my piercer was very fast and explained everything to me, barely hurt at all. Prices are good too.

So I went and got my bottom lip pierced and the girl I got was amazing! She was so sweet, she couldn't get the ball on my lip ring at first and she kept checking on me to make sure I was okay! Not to long ago on my eighteenth birthday, I got my first tattoo done on my wrist by Sara Huser. She was a very gentle lady, kind and flexible with my needs and she is the one you should see if you are planning to go to the Castle of Color to get some work done! I was recommended to Sara by a cousin of mine, who does not let anyone else ink her up besides Sara so I trusted her and made an appointment with her. I can definitely see why my cousin, Teira loves Sara and I'm glad Sara had the honor on my first tattoo experience. I'll for sure, be back for my next tattoo design (that I'm planning to get now) and to keep returning to Sara for other future tattoos. I also recommend if this is your first time coming to this shop (Castle of Color) or your first tattoo experience, to make an appointment with Sara Huser.
