They are the gentlest and most relaxing piercers I've known. They honor the time they spend with you and treat you like a person. (Not always true of studio's with the "old school" body mod vibe.) True quality work and jewelry that is outstanding! The gold & gems make their piercings unique and custom. Trust them, you WILL NOT be disappointed!

MINT Piercing Studio is outstanding! It’s so easy to book on their website. Then, once you get there, they make you feel so comfortable. They talk you through the whole process and demonstrate top notch professionalism. I went in for a hoop nose ring (after my initial piercing was healed) and Tyler made sure the hoop was the correct size for my nose shape. He kept trying different sizes until he found the perfect one. I will always recommend MINT!

My 9 year old got her ears pierced last Friday. Tyler was wonderful with her! She had previously had her ears pierced and one only needed open not pierced again. He was very professional and thorough with the process. The healing process has been easy. The pain with them was very minimal. Highly recommend this place!

Highly recommend Mint. My 6 and 9 yr old were very nervous and Tyler helped to lighten the mood and keep them calm. Not even one tear was shed! He is very kind and friendly and professional. Today I had Tyler at West Glen for lobe piercing and it was the best experience! I’ve had other piercings done at other businesses and this was by far the best. Tonight my daughter made a new best friend. My 5 year old has wanted to get her ears pierced for months and has been looking forward to this appointment since. She was not disappointed. Tyler was funny from the moment we walked through the door. He quickly bonded with her, she trusted him, and it made for a super FUN experience for her. Tyler talked to her about the importance of caring for her ears, walked her through every step, gave her an “ear hug” and away he went. He was so meticulous in making sure the piercings were even, used great quality jewelry and did everything right to put this mom and daughter at ease. After piercing her he changed out my two nose rings (a piercing he did four months ago) with great jewelry and we walked away a super happy, confident, stylin’ duo. I can not recommend Tyler and Mint West Des Moines enough. Excellent service. High quality work and an overall awesome environment.

I just had my ear lobes re-pierced by Tyler. I learned yesterday that I had a pretty complicated situation with my previous ear piercing done unprofessionally when I was 6. He gave me alternative options and always took my safety into consideration. He is super educational and always puts you first. If you want to get quality piercings, please get them done professionally and not at a random place in a mall. I highly recommend this studio! They also only accept appointments and not walk-ins, so make sure to make an appointment online. Overall, I’m very happy with my new ear piercing!

Such a professional and accommodating piercing studio. Leo was wonderful to work with. I went in for a simple lobe piercing since I hadn't worn any jewelry in 10 years. Leo was able to work with my existing piercing to open it back up gently, absolutely painless! I’ve been going to Mint exclusively for my jewelry since 2017. Recently i needed to have retainers put in for a procedure I needed done. Tyler was ready before I got there with everything sterilized and ready to go. I was in and out in less then ten minutes. He also kept my pieces and polished them up for me so when I came back for a reinsert they were looking like the day I bought them. Staff is always phenomenal!! I've always had good experiences at MINT, but today's experience was top-notch! Today was my first time getting pierced by Tyler. He was professional, informative, and super excited to pierce my septum for me. He also took his time checking the placement to make sure it would line up well with my other septum piercing, which I really appreciated. Bree is always so friendly at the front desk and she helped me pick out some sparkly gems for my older piercings as well. They both made me feel super comfortable and welcome. This is the only place I would ever go again! 2 weeks ago I walked in on a Tuesday night and got fit in a short time for a consultation with Tyler. He was professional, friendly, and knew what he was talking about. The first opening he had was the next day so I didn’t mind coming back since I knew he had the experience I wanted and he gave me great advice to get both of the piercings I wanted at the same time to reduce the long term healing time. My piercings are beautiful and perfectly placed, they are healing perfectly with the instructions he gave me, and I’m so glad I took his advice. I went to Mint for the first time and being a piercing junkie I didn’t know what I was in for! But it was something great for sure. Tyler was my piercer and not only was he professional, he was SO friendly and SO kind. He was able to make sure I felt comfortable and was very safe with the whole COVID situation (extra face mask protection)! I got my septum pierced and he did an AMAZING job. Tyler is amazing! I got my conch done by them and I am obsessed with it! Its had some trouble healing and they have offered good suggestions and guidance so I can downsize soon! Tyler has also given suggestions to help my botched navel and its scarring so I can get it redone. Mint’s services are more pricey than others around town but it’s 100% worth the money for the level of care and customer service they provide.

Nothing but the best to say about Tyler and his team. They went above and beyond to service me. I came back after my piercing to change jewelry but they immediately noticed my piercing wasn't healing properly. They didn't even charge anything and instead gave me their number to update them on my situation. After my healing, I consulted them on my jewelry change in an arduous process that I no doubt made more difficult trying to find the piece I want. They replied to everything I was asking and were even kind enough to make room for an appointment just a couple days before I had to leave town in their busy schedule. You get what you pay for here and then some with quality products and great service!

This is a fantastic place to get a piercing. On a whim, I decided to get my nose pierced six weeks ago - the online booking was so convenient, and the shop is super clean and professional. It’s evident they have gone above and beyond to make it safe in the COVID era. Tyler was my piercer and was great at explaining everything to me. Had a great experience with Tyler today! I had to go in to get help removing a piercing from another shop that got stuck in my ear. Tyler was so helpful and informative about the process, looked at all my other piercings and removed what needed to be removed, gave me detailed instructions for aftercare and healing, let me know I could text/call if I had any problems after I left, and let me know I could come back in about a month or so to get them done right :) Plus, they were able to get me in so fast! Definitely thankful for them today and can’t wait for these holes to heal up so I can finally get them done. Thanks Tyler!

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!!! Amazing experience, great prices, clean workspace, beautiful decor, and professional staff. Tyler helped me today and he knew what he was doing. I had a piercing that I thought closed and I was looking to get redone- he knew off the bat that he could probably reopen it without re-piercing it. He saved me $65 for not needing to get it pierced again!! They definitely know what they are doing here and are super honest good working people. The jewelry is gorgeous and well priced, the atmosphere is chill, and the staff is awesome. I got a labret done elsewhere in Des Moines. The experience was sub par and I was having trouble with the jewelry. It ended up coming out (after the other piercer put it in two separate times) and closed up a little overnight. I called Mint and they got me in right away to look at it and give a second opinion. What an amazing experience. All of the employees were incredibly friendly. I went to get my septum pierced at the same time my sister was getting her daith. This was my first facial piercing, and Janessa was incredibly helpful, from helping me get through my nervousness to showing me how to flip my new jewelry up in situations where a facial piercing may not be appreciated. Their items are a bit on the pricey side (with tip, my piercing came to $108, including a standard titanium curved bar with beads at the end and a saline drip spray), but they come with a lifetime guarantee. A friend got a new nose ring there while we were waiting and they took his old one out and put the new one in for free. Excellent customer service and everyone was extremely knowledgeable, while trying to make sure that every piercing/jewelry purchase was perfect. When I eventually decide I need more metal in my face, I know where I'll be heading.
