I saw Erin for a tattoo and it was such a great experience! The shop is clean, cute, and welcoming. Erin was so great to work with and she was able to draw up an amazing design for me. She was also very willing to make any tweaks if I so desired (but I didn't- it was perfect as is!). I would highly recommend this studio, and Erin herself, to anyone looking for a tattoo! I will for sure be back. :)

The shop was super clean and the work they do is good. The reason I’m giving 3 stars is because it took us 3 hours to get 4 very small tattoos, and it almost seemed like the artist was kind of annoyed he had to spend time on us. I understand that you have to clean between each person, but it took well over 30 minutes between each of us, which would have been fine if we hadn’t seen the artist stopping to chat while we waited and waited. It just didn’t seem like the artist was very respectful of our time, even though we were respectful of his by booking way ahead of time, explaining to him what we wanted, and showing up on time.

Specifically I was tattooed by Andrew, I still have another session to go, but my experience with him was very refreshing! I appreciate how Andrew took breaks not only for me, but himself. He is clear on his process, and he manages my expectations well, and he's just a nice dude. If you're a first timer, or find tattoo shops intimidating, or a lady who just wants to feel safe this shop is a great place to be. I also appreciate how considerate they are of COVID as well. I can't recommend Rich at Wild Wind enough! He's done some beautiful tattoos on friends and I love the tattoo I got in February. The shop is bright, clean, and an overall lovely environment that was comfortable and welcoming. Rich was super communicative in the processes of emailing about my tattoos idea and making an appointment was easy. This place was really great! Super clean and cute space. I went in with my mom who was getting her very first tattoo. The artist who did her tattoo, Andrew, was great! He talked her through the whole process and also helped her get the design of her tattoo to a place that he felt would hold up and still be what she envisioned. Chris was my tattoo artist and he did an amazing job of taking a simple design and turning it into something way better than I even envisioned. We both got simple tattoos but they both did a really great job and were very communicative about everything. Our tattoos healed quickly with no problem, they put a medical grade plastic covering on it that really helps it to heal quickly. Will definitely go back for future tattoos/piercings.

I have been seeing Rich for years now, and cannot say enough wonderful things about him, and the entire Wild Wind family. Rich and Chris have done multiple pieces for me and my partner and every time we have an appointment they are both incredible sounding boards to our ideas. Not only are they just genuinely great guys, but when I (a non artistic or design focused individual) come in with an idea, Rich is always so helpful when thinking through placement, color, and design. The entire experience is wonderful from start to finish. Not to mention the shop itself which is decorated with their own artwork and so many happy plants! Chicago has many tattoo shops with good reviews- I'm glad I picked this place! I fully expected to walk in to make an appointment for another day, but they accept walk-ins and I was in and out in less than an hour. The shop was clean, cozy, and filled with amazing artwork. I went in to get a tattoo of my father's nickname for me in his handwriting and Rich did an amazing job! I was a little emotional and a bit nervous, but his presence was super calming. I wish I lived here so Rich can do my future tattoos (was in town visiting my brother). I guess I'll just have to visit more often!

I live nearby Wild Wind and knew that when I was ready for my next tattoo that this was the place I wanted to check out. The decor is awesome and very welcoming, and later coming to find out all of the art is either from Rich and Chris' personal collection, or their own paintings and illustrations. Rich is the artist that I worked with, starting with some ideas that he helped to work through with me and then scheduling an appointment. He was awesome the whole way through. He gave me very honest opinions about watercolor tattoos and that adding a little bit of shading will make a huge difference (he was right). He is also just a really nice guy to hang out with for a few hours, which makes the whole process even more enjoyable. The tattoo I got is probably 3"x5" on my forearm and he finished it all in about 1.5 hours. The work itself is beautiful. The shading and line work is awesome and I get so many compliments daily about how it looks like it was literally painted on my arm. Anyway, I have already recommended this place to a bunch of friends and I know I'll be back for sure.

I picked Wild Wind Tattoo for my first tattoo experience, and got two palm-sized traditional Chinese character tats from Rich at the beginning of August. The have healed very nicely with no issues, and I have gotten compliments on the line work from friends with several tats, and also compliments on the quality of the character rendering from my Chinese friends. In addition to the quality of the tats themselves, Rich was very professional and competent. His responses to my pre-appointment emails were prompt, clear, and organized. His manner and knowledge of potential bodily reactions during the process indicated both a high-level of focus on the customer as well as reflecting a great deal of personal experience. Lastly, I'll note that I first became aware of Wild Wind when they hosted a fundraising benefit for a a local charity that I volunteer with. So, Rich/Wild Wind are a positive for the community as well as providers of quality tattoo services.

In the back of the shop is a large wall that each artist has an opportunity to decorate, paint, and show off their artistic skills. It's not pretentious like a lot of other tattoo shops in that area (or really anywhere), and if that's not reason enough, they've always got some unique art installation on display, it's super clean, in a really convenient location, and for the artistry they provide, super reasonably priced. I would follow Rich anywhere to be honest, that's how amazing of a tattoo artist he is - he brought my forearm tattoo to life by free handing these amazingly colored wildflowers that I would never have been able to visualize or verbalize myself. Seriously, if you are considering a tattoo, go here or you'll forever have REGERTS (bad tattoo joke-see what i did there?)
