My experience with McNabbs has been amazing! Eric Hansen did my very first tattoo and I cannot speak highly enough about him. He was amazing to work with, he listened intently to all my requests and ideas and offered super helpful feedback the lead to a tattoo that is beautiful beyond anything I hoped for. He is so knowledgeable and an extremely skilled tattoo artist. I will only trust him with my future tattoos. I highly recommend you trusting him with your tattoo project as well. I will be proud of the tattoo he did for me for the rest of my life.

This is technically my second tattoo. Been trying to get into a shop for over 10 years. Found Paul and I finally made time to start this theme of tattoo ideas I’ve been wanting for years. Paul was worth the wait. It’s more about the experience he gives you while watching him give you a insanely great piece of art on your body forever. I just got done doing two sessions back to back on this first phase of my art work. One more in few weeks to finish it but so far I’m glad where the vibes led me to him crossing my path in life to give such a great experience and amazing art piece. Paul just gives off this chill vibe and feeling you can talk about anything going on in your life. I keep telling him it’s like getting a life therapy session, too with him. Just like how he presents himself and stands for and not afraid to sugar coat how he sees life and his profession. Can’t wait to keep getting more of his art work skills on my skin. 🤙🍻 -SiXX352

I have been to different tattoo and piercing places and McNabbs is the best by far. Everyone there is extremely friendly. Destiny is an amazing piercer. I went and got my second nose piercing and had no pain. She is kind, friendly, helpful when you can’t make up your mind and best of all she makes sure everything is clean. I went in another time for a tattoo from Bobby. I have previous ones not my favorite but he blew it out of the park. He got exactly what I had wanted, with not many pictures. He was the best tattoo artist I have seen yet. I am definitely coming back to this company !!

New to the Boise area and had been looking for an artist to do a much needed cover-up for a long time. Immediately when I met tattoo artist Eric Hansen, I got good vibes and he was happy to take on the cover-up and help me love the piece again. I can't tell you how happy I am with the work he did. The tattoo required quite a bit of color and black work to cover - Eric was as light handed as he could be, had great attention to detail, and was super kind. Being comfortable when you're getting tattooed is so important. I will definitely be trusting Eric with future pieces!

Absolutely amazing. I got my tattoo done by Jared and I can’t stop showing it off. I described to him what I was looking for and he definitely delivered! 1/26 Edit: today was the last session and this tattoo is UNBELIEVABLE. I am so happy with it. Billie is awesome. He saw when I started to struggle and gave plenty of breaks, but still kept us on a steady schedule and pace. The tattoo from our first session healed beautifully with his instruction, and now that we’re done I’m DYING to see the healed piece. I have waited so long to start getting tattoos and I’m so glad I waited till I found this place. All of the other artists are so kind and the environment is so fun and friendly. This tattoo is way more than I would have ever imagined it could be. And I’m SO happy with it! My first tattoo was done by Billie and I could not have been a better experience!! We went all out on my calf and it could not have been easier (for me lol). We’re only halfway thru this tattoo, but I love it so much and I’m SO excited to see the finished product! He gave me lots of tips and tricks for aftercare and made something totally new and foreign to me, feel easy and gave me a bunch of confidence! .

I've been wanting to get a tattoo for quite a while but never found a design that had meaning to me. Recently I came up with a basic idea and decided to contact a tattoo shop and talk with someone. I found McNabb while doing a Google search and the reviews were good, so I went in. I described the type of tattoo that I was looking for to the person at the front desk and she connected me with Betty Baker. It was my lucky day. I briefly described what I was looking for and gave Betty a very basic picture of my design. The following week she came back with a design that was exactly what I was looking for, but she wanted to refine it a little more. I asked for a couple of minor changes and she had some ideas of her own. She was still tweaking a little when I showed up but it looked awesome! I spent a few hours in the chair but I could tell her attention to detail was off the charts. Needless to say, I left the shop with a big smile on my face. Thanks Betty!

Started my leg sleeve with Paul and it was definitely worth the wait. Impressed by his professionalism, courteously, well thought out ideas and feedback to make the ideas I had come to life. The shop is clean, well ran and the staff is second to none. Everyone is super chill, extremely friendly and go out of their way to make you feel welcome. I definitely recommend anyone to check them out. Their finished work blew me away as well. Everyone that has seen my new pieces all have said they have never seen such good work With the shading and ability to make the tattoos come together so well. Beyond pleased with the work that’s been done. Looking forward to finish my stuff up in august.

I have previously gotten tattoos from the Owner Paul and have always been more than happy, but I had the pleasure to get a helix piercing from his wife Jess yesterday and let me tell y'all... My best friend Anna and I randomly decided to get piercings and found McNabbs on Google. I got a second lobe piercing and Anna got a second cartilage piercing. Check in was super smooth and we only waited 5-10 minutes as walk-ins. Destiny was the best! Super knowledgeable and even gave us extra advice after seeing Anna’s poorly healed cartilage piercing from a decade ago (read: NOT done at McNabbs) 😅 Staff was very friendly. They are a family-owned and run shop and you can tell everyone loves what they do. Highly recommend!

He’s also a great artist had a super light touch and was friendly with good conversation throughout the process. McNabbs was the absolute best place ever to take my 6 year old daughter to get her ears pierced for her birthday! Destiny was an absolute dream! She was so positive, encouraging and even asked my daughter multiple times if she was positive she wanted to get this done today. She made it so quick and painless! I called in for a last minute appointment and they were able to fit me in, which I really appreciated on such short notice. I had Betty as my tattoo artist and she was amazing! She was great at fine details within the tattoo. My tattoo is still in the healing process so I don’t have any pictures but it was a little stingray on my ribcage. Betty said she has only been tattooing for a little over a year and I was shocked because her work looks like she’s a veteran of the tattoo world. She’s very talented! I recommend this place for tattoos.

I originally emailed the shop with several questions about what I wanted done and received a quick and thorough response that made me feel very welcomed to drop in. I walked in for piercings and Destiny did a wonderful job for me! I was a little nervous and she made me feel very comfortable during the process. I had four different ear piercings done the first time that I walked in and she was so awesome that I went back for two more two weeks later. I can't recommend McNabbs enough! I'll be back!

When I called to ask about a piercing the lady who spoke with me on the phone was very understanding and polite. I had some simple questions that I'm sure many people don't need to ask, but she answered them and did not make me feel stupid for asking, which I appreciated. The piercer, Destiny, was wonderful! This place originally caught my attention due to the overwhelming amount of 5 star reviews. I had been in the market for years for a tattoo. My experience from start to finish was incredible. From my 1st initial call with the receptionist. To my 2 visits, I was always treated well. From the moment I walked into the shop I was greeted with a warm welcome. I laid out what I wanted, and was paired with an artist who's strong suit was the style I was wanting. We talked about how and where, as well as she set the proper expectations for what she expected from me and in return what I could expect from her. She was very flexible with her schedule to work around mine. She did quote me higher than she charged me, and was honest and ethical about it. Winter provided me a pleasant tattooing experience. She was friendly and fun and open to conversation. She has a gentle touch and was swift and accurate with her abilities, with fantastic line work. I have gotten nothing but gemuine compliments on it and I must say Winter far exceeded my expectations and I am forever a fan of not only this location, but this artist. I will be returning to her for sequential work and highly recommend 👌 10/10

I'm visiting from Oregon, and went in to get my eyebrow pierced. Staff is insanely friendly, and very straight forward. Destiny was my piercer and she was super sweet, and was very thorough with the placement before piercing. She also took the time to explain that I could choose to have it pierced at a slant or straight up and down. She pierced it fast and went over cleaning routine and made check out fast, simple and easy and helped me pick out jewelry I was interested in for my ears (gauges).

Eric killed the first design, but was very open to the changes I did request. By the final product I was so impressed how he put my ideas together! You can barely tell there was anything there before what he has done and you won't be able to see it at all after our next session. The atmosphere is fun and friendly. Jess performed the ear piercing on my five year old daughter and she went above and beyond for us! He spent over and hour with me at the beginning of the day just to ensure it was going to be the perfect placement. I got my first tattoo with my dad on 4/20 with Betty and it was nothing short of perfect! I’m not exaggerating, I don’t leave reviews super often but Betty was so so great. We came in late March and we’re able to talk with her about what we wanted to do and ask any questions. She was able to schedule us within a few weeks, we paid a deposit and were don’t with that initial consult within 30 minutes. When we came in for our tattoos Betty was super respectful and asked my pronouns, she also has a great bedside manner, was happy to answer any and all questions and is overall just a great person that we both really vibed with! My 3 word tattoo in my dads handwriting on my forearm took less than 5 minutes start to finish and wasn’t painful for me at all. Betty made sure to keep everything very clean and give us a temporary skin bandage to keep our new tattoos covered and clean. I could not have asked for a better tattoo experience and cannot wait to go back!

On June 26th 2020 my nieces, two of my brothers and myself had a tattoo appointment with Eric Hansen. Eric was so awesome to work with. Our mother and Nana passed away this last year and we each wanted to get a memorial tattoo in honor of her. Earlier this year, I visited the State Fair here in Boise and came across McNabb's booth and decided to stop. I was immediately struck by how friendly and professional the booth personnel was. They took the time to listen to me about my idea, had me browse their artist's portfolios and suggested that based on the style of tattoo I was interested in, I should see the owner, Paul McNabb. I called and scheduled an appointment with Paul for an initial consultation. When I first met Paul, I was a bit nervous because previous interactions with other tattoo artists left me feeling like they just didn't care and they wanted complete freedom to interpret my idea the way they wanted to do it. Secondly, I am a bit of a control freak and because tattoos are permanent and will be with me for the rest of life, I was not going to allow someone to "do what they wanted" for my tattoo. That said, when I met Paul, the first thing I did was tell him this was my first tattoo, that I had an idea for a tattoo and that I was nervous. I also told him about my previous interactions with other tattoo artists. The first thing Paul told me was not to worry and asked me if I have a sample drawing of what I had in mind. It was a rough sketch and not very good, but Paul took the time to listen to what I had in mind and offered some suggestions to make it better. I was impressed by his technical knowledge and more importantly, he didn't seem arrogant. He was humble and yet confident. At the end of the first meeting, Paul asked me to send him an email that included in as much detail as I wanted, explain exactly what I had in mind, list the items that were non-negotiable and must be in the tattoo and finally, what items I could allow him to modify as needed based on size of tattoo, placement and my skin tone. I provided all this information to him. Fast forward to the actual tattoo. From the moment I walked in the studio, everyone there made feel at ease. It was a clean and professional environment. More than that, everyone seemed very friendly. Paul did a fantastic job on my tattoo, he was willing to collaborate and was humble through the entire tattoo process. My tattoo required two sessions and prior to the second session, he made sure to review my tattoo again and we discussed in detail what the remaining portion of the tattoo would look like. In the end, my tattoo is everything I was hoping for and Paul did a great job for me. I had heard stories of tattoo artists over charging for time especially when there is more than one session. But in my case, Paul was very fair with his time and I never felt like I was paying for extra time. In summary, if you are getting your first tattoo or having additional work done, I would highly suggest calling McNabbs. They have several artists that can do many different styles. I suggest that you be prepared with samples of what you want and be ready to collaborate and over-communicate with your artist. These guys are pros, yet all seem humble enough to listen and work with their customers. I could not have asked for a better tattoo experience for my first tattoo and Paul and his team are true professionals in their craft.

It’s easy to see why there’s only 5 star reviews for this place. My wife and I saw online that Paul had a rare opening due to a cancellation he had. We both went in for some smaller tattoos that were very meaningful to us. Paul did a stellar job. He normally works on larger pieces so this was a little change for him but he absolutely nailed them! The colors are vibrant, and the lines are so clean. He’s also very honest with his feedback about tattoo ideas, what he thinks will work and whatnot. Even if you have to change your tattoo idea a bit, I highly recommend taking whatever advice he gives you. He is very knowledgeable and also very friendly. Aside from Paul I also looked at the portfolios of the other artists, and I must say there is no slouch in that shop. They are all very talented and friendly. Oh Destiny! What a freaking rockstar!! I had a gift certificate from Christmas (dated a few days before) and she worked with me to get a piercing done a few days after it had expired. I didn’t know their gift certificates had an expiration date. 6 months in case y’all were wondering. She gave me her personal phone number and said to text her when I could confirm our time. The day of, she went out of her way to say she had some extra time and I could come in early. Freaking win for me!! This was my first piercing so I was super nervous. Her kind and relaxed soul calmed me down and before you know it, I had a couple studs in my ears. In and out 15 minutes tops. Again, Destiny is the definition of amazing and I will always recommend her to anyone from adults getting another piercing to kids getting their first!! Eric Hanson did such an amazing job. The Communication was alittle delayed. But the confidence he has, hypes you up. Now speaking of the tattoo. I came in and he had something already drawn up. But I wasn't a fan of it, so he then worked for another hour or so to change the design . He's got a gentle touch with the needle. And for how small the astronaut is. The details are there! This is the best shop I have been to! When I initially called McNabb's to set up a consultation, they were professional and respectful from the moment they answered the phone. I scheduled a time and met with Paul. He was very professional and honest, which is definitely a plus, when it comes to putting something permanent on your body. Going into it, I knew the main things I wanted in my tattoo and the general placement. And I left the colors and design up to him. I could not be happier with what he produced! It ended up being a longer process than we originally planned (thanks to babysitter issues, for me) but Paul was very understanding and accommodating to it. As for the rest of my experience, ALL of the artists are very friendly and professional, which you do not get at some shops. I will definitely be coming back here, to get more work done!

He not only did the absolute most amazing work I have ever seen he was friendly and listened why I talked away. Paul McNabb (owner) tattooed a photorealistic black/gray lion on my right chest and I love the result! He was meticulous in his application while being conversational at the same time. Sessions at McNabb's were actually fun, which you can't always say about getting inked. He listened to what I wanted, provided sound advice about a few tweaks he'd recommend, and set about creating a work of art on my body. He's quite talented and was worth the 6 month wait. It was advertised when you came in for the $30 piercing and get your nipples pierced there would be 2 piercers to do it at the same time. This was not the case when I got mine done. There was only one piercer and the left side was messed up. Just be sure to talk to them before you go in. Jess the women who did my piercings called me to schedule a time to come in and look at my left piercing. As far as the tandem piercing that has to be requested which I did not realize. This place gives great customer service and I very quick to make amends for anything there customers feel is a mess.
