I had the honor of having Scott do my first tattoo. He did an amazing job working with precision, detail, speed, and care. I almost passed out, and he made sure to take care of me with a lollipop and water until I came back to full cognition. I felt confident during the entire process that I was in good hands.

By far the best place to get your tattoo in Atlanta. The staff-members are beyond friendly and are willing to work with you on any design. I 100% felt safe here and my artist, Scott, was extremely understanding of my placement and design as well as helpful with aftercare instructions. If you're going to go here, I strongly recommend it. Wonderful experience with Rachel and rest of Liberty team. I came in for a walk-in on a Saturday, and knew exactly what I wanted (very small, my first tattoo woohoo!). We came by the shop hoping to get walk-in tattoos and had an awesome experience. We were helped immediately and the shop was spacious, clean, and comfortable. We appreciate the staff being honest, upfront, and accommodating- would have gladly come back with an appt. after the great first impression. The best part- Kennie Davis gave me a serpent piece that exceeded all expectations and I couldn't be more proud to wear. The entire process was nearly painless. Today I went in to get my first tattoo ever! It was such a delightful experience! I had the pleasure to meet Shay (who is also the owner of this amazing place). He was so kind and sensitive to me! I made a tiny silhouette birds tattoo, but being my first time I was really nervous about the result! The whole experience was perfect, from the front desk check in till the end result! From Chicago....came to ATL on vacation. A bartender recommended this place for tattoos so checked it out. My tattoo artist Kenny did such a great job and my Tattoo came exactly like the picture. He was very nice and friendly as well. The only thing I was upset about was that I was quoted $100-$120 from the "receptionist" woman, but was charged $175 Instead. I almost died inside....but didn't complain. I was happy with my Tattoo

Tad did a walk-in for my friend last year, and given her experience, I knew this was the only place in Atlanta I'd use for my first tattoo! Fast forward to last week: I came in on my birthday for a walk-in, and Joey took amazing care of me (she was super empathic about this being my first time, really patient, answered my list of questions, and finished my back tat in record time!). Yes, the wait times can be long on the weekends, but to me, it's worth it for the quality of service that Liberty Tattoo provides. I cannot rave about this place enough!

All but 1 of my tattoos are from Liberty. They are amazing. Each artist (I've been to 4 so far) makes sure you love your tattoo and puts all their talent into making it look really good. Friday, Saturday, and Sunday are walk ins only. Wait times vary so eat before you go. I don't trust anyone else with the art on my body. Their rates are fair but vary by artist (ballpark about 120ish per hour) and please tip your artist. You can tell they love what they do and enjoy making you happy.

I walked in on my birthday to get a tiny tat with my friend and within an hour both of us walked out with exactly what we wanted for the price we had hoped for, plus they gave us a little tattoo after care "kit" which was super nice. I believe david was the artist and he was super nice and helpful. Really happy with what I got and the place was super cool looking and really clean. The people were also very nice including other customers. 10/10 would go again :-)

Went here last night with a friend, and right off the bat this shop had a cool vibe. It did take a while before we were helped but to their credit the place had quite a bit of patrons waiting. My friend’s artist was Joey, she was covered in some badass tattoos and she was extremely nice,taking her time to make sure my friend was happy with the tattoo design and placement. I also want to add that all the stations looked very clean and all utensils were wrapped. I will definitely be returning for future tatts.

I have been a to liberty for about a year now. This shop overall has the best appeal in Atlanta when it comes to tattoo shops. My artist is Ben Thomas, who is a absolutely fantastic artist. I came to the store in search of finding a artist who could help me with my leg sleeve that I was seeking. The shop hand put me in Ben's direction due to his skill set. Before my first session we discussed what we would be doing on my leg, and I left him with a deposit to make a sketch for when I came in later that week. When I arrived back later that week he was there waiting on me with everything in hand to get started. Not once have I ever had an issue with him, and he is very personable about taking care of his clients. Since our first session I have spent countless hour and dollars with Ben because of his courtesy and honesty. If for whatever reason he can't make it to a session he is always the first to let you know, and reschedule immediately to make sure he accommodates due to the situation. To the person who left the last post bashing on Ben I find very untrue and false. Ben has the reputation he has because of his good people ethics and fantastic art, thank you.

Personal and professional. Went here for my first tattoo and was slightly nervous, but only until I started talking to the staff! Joey was really great, she printed off several sizes of what I was looking to get and was very detail oriented. She made to sure to note exactly where and how to place the stencil and gave me plenty of time to look it over and confirm before we started. It's a little tattoo made up of tiny stars, and she is very steady handed so they look awesome! I have to admit I was creeping on someone nearby getting tatted and saw another artist very focused on working on a large, beautiful floral tattoo on a lady's calf. I can confidently say there's a lot of talent there, the artists' catalogs on the desk are neat to browse through. The place itself is very artistic and has the city spirit of Atlanta. I recommend this place to anyone. In a safe area too but limited parking. 5 stars.

As a loyal customer of Liberty Tattoo for some time now, I can say that the kind and professional atmosphere, the clean and welcoming environment and the collective talent of the artists in the building would keep me from ever going elsewhere. Ben Thomas most recently did my last piece, and it was a show stopper. He was very accommodating, took his time to make sure that my image was exactly as I wanted it and was incredibly gracious about changing some things to the design before we got started. I enjoyed looking at the art displayed in the books and the young lady I talked to while I was there was super knowledgeable and was very personable, not to mention the fact that she had some of the most beautiful tattoo work I had ever seen. This is now the fifth time I have come into Liberty with my girlfriend and the third time she's gotten a tattoo from Tad. Even though our visits are infrequent, he remembered us and made sure that we got high quality and consistent work. Tad is very friendly and always makes sure that she feels comfortable. He does great work and cares about his clients. Although we are both relatively "new to the whole tattoo thing," he explained everything and was very helpful with all of our questions. 10 out of 10 would ink again.

When I had a particular question about placement (I was concerned about it hurting too bad in the original spot I had chosen.), he was refreshingly upfront and honest about it with me. He was also careful to ask me at different points about my pain levels and whether or not I was doing okay. When he was finished, he let me take a look at it to see if I wanted any changes or add-ons. He was super-sweet and awesome through the whole experience. So, thank you, David. I spent a little over a year looking for an artist in Atlanta to do a super sentimental tattoo for me. Liberty kept coming up as the place to go. A friend of mine ended up getting a beautiful piece by Ben Thomas. Once I saw it, I was hooked. I spent another month or so shopping around, but I kept coming back to his work. I emailed Ben to set up an appointment. He got back to me that day, set up an appointment with me even though he was heading out of town, had a sketch ready for me when I came into the shop, and did an amazing job. I was a little nervous at first because this was my biggest tattoo to date, but Ben and the rest of the staff totally made me comfortable. The tattoo itself healed beautifully and I really cannot wait for more. Ben Thomas is the man, thanks buddy!

Wanted to start the first piece of a larger project and Liberty seemed like a stellar option. I had brought in a couple example pictures of what I wanted, and I was paired up with Rachel. I gave her an idea and she absolutely nailed every aspect on the first sketch. Rachel was awesome to work with and charged the lower end of her initial quote. This shop is extremely clean and professional. I have gotten both of my skull tattoos done by Sten and my thigh tattoo done by a women there a few years back. Sten did an AMAZING job on both of my skull tattoos, and I plan on going back when I have the fund to get the rest of my skull done. While I have never been to Liberty Tattoo in Atlanta, I did receive a tattoo from Ben Thomas in Dallas,TX at Saints and Sinners. He fit me into his already busy schedule and drew me a custom piece right there on the spot. It was everything I wanted it to be. He is an extremely talented artist. This particular piece was a belly rocker so needless to say it was painful. The entire time Ben made sure I was doing okay and was completely fine with taking a break halfway through. I started to feel a bit light headed because I needed to eat something. I told Ben and he found me food. When I tried to stand up he insisted I sit down with a firm "Jenny SIT DOWN!" He took care of me the whole time and my tattoo turned out fantastic. I have also commissioned Ben for flyer artwork in which he finished the painting and sent it to me with time to spare. I would recommend him to anyone for artwork or a fabulous tattoo.

I got a pair of ear cartilage piercings done just last night by Jake at Liberty Tattoo. I went in pretty nervous, as I'd never had a piercing done before; however, Jake was quick to answer all of my questions clearly and thoroughly. There was no rush, no annoying push for a sale, and plenty of good advice. The procedure was very quick and was performed very carefully and professionally with clean, sterilized tools. Suffice to say, my experience at Liberty Tattoo has dispelled a silly preconception I've carried about Tattoo Parlors for years. They do art here, and they do it well. I'll definitely be going back for Jake when it's time for the next two piercings in the same ear. The results of my visit look great, and even now only twelve hours after the piercings I could almost forget they're there with as little as I can feel them. There's no residual pain, and they're only slightly sore if I bump them on something. EDIT: I also wanted to mention that there's no swelling at all, and that my ear is back to its normal color already. I'm really optimistic that these will heal up nicely.

i had an amazing experience at liberty tattoo. clean and professional and every artist there is amazing. i got tattooed by Ben Thomas who does some of the best work i have ever seen. i had a rough time getting my shin tattooed, i was in a lot of pain and being a crybaby, but Ben never gave me a hard time and made me feel as comfortable as possible and gave me a shoulder to cry on. a truly beautiful man, and amazing artist. i am saving large parts of my body for Ben Thomas and cant wait untill he tattoos me again.

After getting two tattoos at another Atlanta tattoo shop, I was really ready to move on. I heard a lot of good things about Liberty, and wanting my third tattoo I decided to go see them. After my last experience at the other shop, I wanted people who would really listen to what I wanted, even if I was being really picky and overly specific. I had something that I wanted very exactly done, in a very specific size, in a very specific place. Even though I was a walk in, they took a ton of time copying, resizing, adjusting, and making sure it was exactly what I wanted, even though it wasn't a big or really detailed tattoo. And then they only charged me the shop minimum! Really, really awesome guys who will listen to exactly what you want and make sure you're really happy. My husband and I were in ATL for our 2 year wedding anniversary and we wanted to get a tattoo. Now this tattoo is a symbol of infertility, so it's very meaningful to us considering we've been struggling for years. So the artist, the place & the work was very important to us. My mom actually use to own a tattoo shop where we live so I know the things to look for. From the instant we walked in, I knew it was the right place. 1.) The parking lot was full. Means they do good work. 2.) I had already looked at the Google reviews, Facebook etc and they had a pretty good rating. 3.) The shop was clean and the music was laid back. It wasn't music with every cuss word known to man kind playing. 4.) The staff was very friendly. Even though the gentlemen that was taking ids etc was very busy, he was prompt and got to us in no time. 5.) It only took about 10 minutes from the time that we walked in the door to having the stencils places. 6.) CON**** the price. The price was a little high. However, maybe that's normal for ATL. I'm not sure. We were charged $100 more then what we were quoted back home. But I felt confident in our artist, so clearly we proceeded. 7.) The artist did work with us on price. We told him our price range and told him to make it work for us and he did. 8.) DANIEL!!!! our artist was absolutely amazing. In every way! He was nice, friendly, intelligent, helpful, and very talkative. Even though it wasn't our first tattoo, he walked us through every step of the way and used his creative ways to make our tattoos more then we expected. He doesn't work there full time, he was just in from Texas, which is where he lives. (I wish he lived closer to us, because he would be my permanent artist). He made sure we were comfortable and that's what I loved about hi.. 9.) After he was finish, he throuougly looked over both of our tattoos to make sure he was okay with us walking out of the door with a tattoo that he did. And of course, they were both perfect. 10.) Would I recommend this shop?!?! Without a doubt, to anyone, anywhere! I loved our experience from start to finish! **** the pictures that I am posting are right after we took off the "bandages" so still bloody etc. The afterwards look of it are awesome. Heck, I'll post a few afterwards too!! Thanks guys for the awesome service.

I went in to get my navel re-pierced after the jewelry had fallen out & the piercing had started to heal. Elliott re-pierced it; he was awesome! I was so nervous about the pain, but it was brief and hard to notice. Very friendly, very welcoming, and it looks fantastic. I would absolutely recommend Elliott to anyone looking to get pierced.

Eh, I got the Hylian Crest from Legend of Zelda several years ago on my wrist, one of my first real tats. I was young and stupid and worked across the street so it seemed accessible. I dont remember it being particularly welcoming, buts thats most shops You walk in and theres the cliche counter and mounts of every tattoo ever that most common people want or some variation. Once the artist had the stencil he placed it in the first place on my wrist which I now know was far too low to begin a wrist tattoo. I can tell where he stopped the needle every time and have had it touched up about 3 times from non-significant shops that have all told me the same thing- damn things too far down. I love the tat its not hideous or outwardly unsightly but its on my wrist and I can see the start and stop lines and dots and the uneven lines. Once i got it touched up it was ok but like I said its still too far down on my wrist. I have another wrist tattoo on the other arm and its in the appropriate position, its just obvious. The artist ignored me the whole time and talked to his friend. I didnt care. I tried making small talk and it proved to get me nowhere so I gave up anyway and let him talk to his rasta friend. I wouldnt recommend. Its got the location, right in midtown so they get customers im sure, however at the time I didnt really see any artists that were of any significance. especially not to make such a rookie mistake as misplacing the tat and the weird disconnect as he ignored me for about an hour while tattooing my wrist. Alone, mind you. I went alone. Theres better out there. Instead of researching establishments, go rogue and search for actual artists. Youll fare better than some rando tat shop next to a liquor store, historic whorehouse hotel and a restaurant that frequently opens and closes... OH! And next to murder kroger. Go for it. You get what you pay for. Be assertive, be confident, and dont be afraid to voice your opinion. It is, after all, YOUR body art.
