I am beyond impressed with the lovely humans and their equally lovely jewellery at Bella! I first came here with my mom 4 years ago to get her septum pierced. I was so fascinated by their pieces and their incredible care and customer service. Since then my mom and my sister have been back multiple times and have always raved about their experiences. I finally booked an appointment to purchase a nose ring and am so grateful I did! Alan was so patient and helpful, as all of the pieces were so gorgeous I couldn’t decide! He suggested a piece that ended up being absolutely perfect and that was that. Bella is perfect, their jewellery is perfect and worth every penny!

Had the best experience with Alan here. Decided to get my tragus pierced here on a whim while on an anniversary trip and Alan was honestly the best piercing experience I've ever had. The jewelry selection is phenomenal, he walked me through all the steps (including sanitation) even though I've had multiple piercings before, and honestly would go to him for everything moving forward. you won't regret going to this shop!

Nic was phenomenal. A lighthearted and warm person who goes above and beyond to guide you through the piercing experience (and goes above and beyond on certification and sterilization, as well.)My first ever piercing looks great and was super easy in both the jewelry selection and actual piercing process. 10/10 would recommend and will definitely be going back to change from a stud to a hoop in 6 months.

SHORT VERSION: Bella Piercing is verified by the APP (Association of Professional Piercers). They're clean, kind, professional, and even sell beautiful custom piercings handmade in store. I have yet to meet Alan, but Nic is awesome!! LONG VERSION: The first time I went to Bella Piercing, I had previously gotten my helixes and septum done at a local tattoo shop. That piercer put in the same cheap, externally threaded horseshoes in all three piercings. If you don't know, piercing helixes with horseshoes is a recipe for disaster, and a few months in they were extremely inflamed with big irritation bumps on the back, and weren't healing properly. Nic replaced them for me and I got beautiful handcrafted amethyst piercings from the store - this time with high quality flatbacks. He also made me a beautiful minimalist rose gold septum on the spot. I asked about new piercings, and Nic advised me against them against his own financial gain, in favor of making sure the ones I did have healed properly. He was really nice, and he happily answered all my questions - including some very obscure ones. This time when I came back, the swelling had gone away and we shortened my flatbacks. And with my septum now healed, he pierced my second lobe for me with a store-made moon piercing. He was very clear with me when working out the placement, and vocally informed me any time he needed to touch my ear - which I greatly appreciate. If you are a woman, you will feel safe and comfortable in this place. The piercing was done quick and easy. Bella Piercing is awesome and as long as I live in North Carolina, this is my piercing shop.

Alan made the experience so easy and provided great input on my final piercings (nostril and conch). Their jewelry selection is gorgeous and made by the piercers who are all goldsmiths (their pieces are not "budget" pieces, so just keep that in mind). Visiting from out of town, I was given great instructions on what local piercer to visit for a post change out later. Highly recommend going through these folkx for your piercing needs.

I traveled from VA to have my septum pierced at Bella with Nic. I had an amazing experience. The shop was very clean. Nic was very kind and helpful in explaining what he was doing throughout the entire process. The selection of HANDMADE, 14K gold pieces to choose from is unmatched. I was happy to be able to have a beautiful gold ring placed at the time of piercing instead of having to wait almost a year for my piercing to heal to switch jewelry out. I 100% will recommend Bella to anyone looking for a piercing, and will return for any future piercing needs.

I had checked out the Instagram and loved some of the philtrum/septum combos and was hoping to have both done in one sitting (I’m a heavily tattooed person, maybe not a great idea for a first timer lol!). The jewelry selection is absolutely exquisite and custom made-a level of professionalism I’ve yet to witness in town as a lifelong local. I’ve been pierced and tattooed all over Asheville and this place is by far the most pleasant experience! The space is beautiful, clean, and a perfect temperature, as well as quiet and calm as appointments are spaced out properly and there are no walk ins. Nic custom made my septum ring on the spot once he was aware of my style-the coolest thing ever! He’s a great human, very relaxed and funny and well practiced in his trade. He helped me out with some jewelry changes a week after the initial appointment and I’m 110% stoked about the whole thing and how it looks! Both appointments were fast and efficient while also feeling complete. Couldn’t recommend this place more if you want to be taken care of!

**Highly Recommend** I made an appointment here because of a few serious issues I experienced with a shop in East AVL on Tunnel Road (for the love of god don’t go there). They used jewelry that started tarnishing in my fresh piercings, then replaced it with barbells that were much to short for healing, so I knew I needed to find a more professional shop. Here at Bella, you will immediately feel taken care of. They are professional, friendly and take pride in what they do. After hearing about my issues, Nic fitted me with proper sized barbells to allow for swelling/healing. He reassured me they were implant grade internally threaded titanium and used an autoclave to sterilize them, unlike the other shop. He switched them out for me, wrote down what size barbells I would need later for downsizing, and even gave me a business card of another reputable shop where I could find anodized titanium barbells later on if I wanted to shop around for that. He also gave me proper aftercare instructions, unlike the other shop that told me to pack sea salt on it 2x daily for 2 months. I also appreciated the covid safety measures they have: Masks are required and appointments are required so that no line or groups form. Their website is very clean and clear with all of these instructions and made it easy to make an appointment online too.

Amazing experience! 9 years ago I had gotten my second earlobe holes pierced and it went terribly. They weren’t done well and never healed. I’ve been nervous ever since to have them redone but finally decided I wanted to pull the trigger. After I found Bella Piercing online I knew that was where I wanted to go. I was pierced by Nic and he is so awesome. He’s super nice, walked me thru everything in detail from start to finish, and made me feel super comfortable. I plan on coming back later this year to get my Helix re-done. If you’re looking to get pierced in Asheville, look no further.. this place is the best! Came in to switch my nose hoop to a smaller, tighter fit and when they didn’t have the next size down in stock Alan custom made a gold hoop in less than five minutes for me. The jewelry switch was very gentle, and I was in and out in 20 minutes. Great, super friendly and knowledgeable. Would recommend anyone to Bella!

Alan , If there was a way to give you 100 stars I would !! I would definitely recommend this reputable piercing studio !! They are so kind , educational , and patient. As a first time piercing client and new to the industry Alan eased me into the process. He answered all my questions and took time to show me on a model ear. We ended up deciding on an industrial and two bottle lobe piercings. Everything was so sterile and clean , especially with COVID precautions. I felt safe in the shop. After the initial piercing , I came back the next day with questions and we decided that we should re-pierce the industrial to make it a bent industrial. Alan took so much time with me and made sure I loved my piercing. I really appreciated all the care he took to make me feel confident and comfortable. He made me a custom piece to go with my custom piercing. I will be back for any other piercing endeavors down the line. This is one place I would consider stopping in Asheville if you’re looking for unique jewelry and experience.

What a lovely experience! This is the first time I've experienced a piercing studio where the jewelry is made in house and it was amazing. I got a unique rose cut quartz piece with my nose piercing, and three white gold rings in my left ear lobe in descending sizes. The (very cool) piercer Alan Dumond gave me plenty of time and answered all my questions, and explored ideas with me for unique potential approaches with enthusiasm. The jewelry is beautiful. Especially impressive was the sterile procedure. Alan utilized sterile practices I've never seen before, and I felt more comfortable than I thought I could in that respect. Affordable, and high quality.

My experience with Bella Piercing was, start to finish, wonderful. The studio was super clean, all current precautions were very clear and followed closely. Came to Bella after thinking about getting my nostril pierced for like...years. The reviews don't like- this place is great. Exceptionally clean, with beautiful handmade jewelry, all of it made of titanium and high quality materials. Nic talked me through the piercing, chatting to help my nerves. He took feedback on where I wanted my piercing and spent a long while talking about aftercare. The piercing itself was wayyyy easier than I thought it would be- Nic helped me breathe through it and made sure I was comfortable.- now to work up the nerve to do my ears a second time. Thank you Bella!!!! As another reviewer, 15 out of a 1-10 scale. Can't say enough good things about my experience.

This was my first piercing experience outside of typical lobe piercings and while I can't speak for other shops/piercers - I have a suspicion that it doesn't get better than this. My experience at Bella was so enjoyable - Nic treated me like an old friend from the very beginning - never once rushed me or made me feel like I didn't belong. The shop is like others have mentioned - extremely clean & sterile. The piercing itself was done in seconds and while not painfree, not nearly what I expected and I definitely feel that is in direct relation to the skill of Nic. I would not hesitite to go here again and I would recommend anyone with a couple hours make their way here for their piercing wants.

Wow this piercing shop is absolutely top notch! I went here for the first time and the piercing artist Nic was so skilled and communicated very clearly. I was repeatedly asked for my comfort levels and consent and felt very taken care of. He did not use any clamps to guide the needle and it was perfectly even!! My personal anatomy was taken into consideration and different sized jewelry was installed accordingly. I have since gone back for two more piercings and just have a better experience each time! If you are looking to get any piercings this is 1000000% the place to go. Their pricing is more than fair and the staff are incredible, take it from a repeat customer! I’ve read a lot of septum horror stories about piercers missing the sweet spot, but Nic took his time to ensure that the piercing was properly placed, and it was almost painless. I decided to go with a simple gold hoop, but Bella has a large array of high quality, gorgeous jewelry that is perfect for anyone who wants more than the standard piercing jewelry. I went last night to see about having an industrial piercing done but wasn’t sure if it would work because my helix is flat and not rounded. Such a pleasant experience! Absolutely worth the trip and appointment. This shop is currently appointment only. I made an appointment in advance for a trip I had coming up to the area. When I showed up, I had the whole shop to myself. The shop was clean and required a mask. Nic, the piercing artist, was wearing a mask (correctly). I was greeted promptly and was able to take my sweet time to browse all my jewelry options. I felt welcome to ask a bunch of questions. I was there to replace the jewelry in my healed conch. This shop is better than any shop in my local area and has jewelry made by the artists. 1. The jewelry is gorgeous and unique 2. The prices were so reasonable! I was so impressed. 3. There was a large variety of options which I felt no pressure to hurry up to choose and in no way did I feel pressured to get a new piercing or buy the most expensive pieces. Here is the best part for me: Nic went above and beyond duty. I just came in to get my conch jewelry replaced with something cute but he spent the time to look over my other piercings. Nic pointed out that some of my healed piercings had posts that were too long and one was actually affecting the angle my piercing was healing. He volunteered to change the posts for me without my asking. It was something I actually had been needing and wanting to do for a while but did not want to ask a piercer that didn’t do the original work to take the extra time and effort to do it for me. He spent quality time patiently fitting better posts to my healed piercings and they felt SO much better afterwards. He took his time to explain to me why the longer posts were bad for my piercings in an informative yet not condescending way. He autoclave the new jewelry for me even when I wasn’t getting a new piercing. This was a great comforting touch to me. Very professional. When we got started Nic made sure I was comfortable and even asked for consent to touch my ears and informed me what I needed to let him know if I was uncomfortable at any point. During the process, he continued to ask about my comfort and thanked me for sitting well. He made wonderful conversation about the Asheville area and had wonderful manners. He is so well spoken and extremely personable. I ended up leaving there with my gorgeous new conch jewelry as well as new posts for a flat, a forward helix and my conch. When we were done, he handed my all my old jewelry and posts to keep. He didn’t charge me a penny for any of the extra work. Just the new single piece of conch jewelry that I purchased. I wish I lived in this area to continue to support this shop. Knowing I was a tourist, he suggested a professional shop in my local area for my future use. He treated me so well and I can’t say enough about it. It was a highlight of my entire trip.

I’ve been in twice so far and each time was a wonderful experience both with a Derek and Hannah. The first time was several month ago to switch out a my tragus jewelry on one side. It wasn’t healing and still bothering me after 6 months. Derek looked at my piercing (I had it done elsewhere) and recommended I put a longer post in to allow for swelling then we switched to a flatter piece of jewelry without prongs to reduce snagging my jewelry on my clothes. This worked perfectly and within a few weeks my piercing was fully healed and now month later it’s still perfect. I just went back in a few days ago to take my daughter in for a piercing and Hannah was great. She calmed my daughters nerves and did a wonderful job on her piercing. It looks beautiful and she loves it. Hannah also took the extra time to help me pick out a new piece of jewelry and did a great job helping me find the perfect size piece of jewelry for the look I wanted. Nic is tremendously experienced and professional. You rarely come across such fine pierces as himself. Balanced, yet willing to experiment if you are. Derek has the most tasteful approach to piercings and jewelry, for what I'm looking for. I love beautiful, small, tasteful, yet blingy BVLA style jewelry that I can stack. He's great to take your mom, grandma, skeptical boyfriend, or anyone who may be taboo about piercings. He's also great if you want to make sure you have the best piercing you can get in Asheville, NC. He does a great job taking taboo out of all body mods in my opinion and helps make them truly beautiful based on every person's unique anatomy. For example, I once went in for a triple forward helix. Derek said he didn't think my small upper ear could handle a triple, and instead provided me with a wonderful suggestion of a symmetrical single forward helix. I paired it with great jewelry, and ended up with a far better piercing than I had anticipated. With my initial approach, I was looking to pay $120 for my three piercings, and then an additional $200 for the jewelry. Instead, Derek used one of the sharpest hollow needles that are no longer available for purchase . And the needle was at a hooked angle . It was so smooth, and painless, and clean. I swear the equipment he used and his technique and care allowed my piercing to heal beautifully, and without a keloid in sight! I also keep very long brown hair. I can really say everyone here is extremely kind, courteous, and professional, and I would know because I've been pierced by them all. Great folks! And the shop has its own no pay parking right off Coxe Ave just past the bus station.

I have several piercings and also happen to be a medical doctor, and my experience at Bella stood out as superior compared to other shops I have visited. Their jewelry is a bit on the pricey side but the piercers are also goldsmiths / jewelers, and they make much of their jewelry in house. Therefore, it is worth paying a bit of a premium for one-of-a-kind local artisan embellishments.

I visited Alan for a consultation to be sure I had the proper ear anatomy for an industrial. He was very informative, able to answer any question I threw at him about aftercare, their piercing process, the gages, lengths, and materials of jewelry, hypertrophic scars, keloids, metal allergies, infections, etc. Confident that I had found a good environment to get my first healthy piercing, I decided to book my appointment. When I walked in he set about to sizing a 14g titanium industrial bar against my ear, showed me the angles in the mirror, etc, then proceeded to unscrew the balls off my bar and set all three pieces, the needle, and any other tools necessary for the procedure into an autoclave. While that processed I read and signed a waiver asking about things like keloid history within the family tree, latex or metal allergies, drink or drugs in my system, etc. Snapped a photo of my ID and signed my name, and Alan even offered to let me change the studio music to whatever I desired which I thought was very considerate of him even though I didn't bother. He had me lay down on the bed with my left ear turned up toward him, then handed me a handheld mirror to direct the final angle of the bar against my ear, first asking if he could touch me. I settled on one I liked, then he pressed the bar into my ear for a moment to create an indention for his needle to follow. I appreciated this because I don't know who else a pen might have touched, or where. He then sanitized my ear with alcohol and sodium hypochlorite before using a hollow needle only slightly larger than my bar to pierce the front half of my industrial, then offered me a moment before the second half. I do dislike that he reused the needle for my second piercing, even though all it had touched was my first piercing, because at times the second hole does tingle more than the first but it's not super noticeable or annoying. He also did not give me a swell bar, saying that industrials don't swell all that much so it wouldn't be necessary. As a piercing virgin, I trust his judgement, but it would have offered me a little more peace of mind in relation to my healing process, and overall he was not slow with setting my bar into place, which is much appreciated because it burned like fire the entire time he had to touch it. Pain level was like a nine out of ten for me, very intense but also very brief, and shortly after the adrenaline kicked in and I felt little to nothing. He cleaned up any blood, and hours afterward my pain came in waves from one to six, and then settled back down before another wave would hit. By the next day it was painless. I'm very careful not to sleep on, snag, or bump it, and I clean morning and evening with saline before rubbing essential oils under my ear to be carried up through my blood vessels to fight inflammation and promote healing, and in three days I've only needed painkillers once. The bar fits very well, it does not touch in the middle of my ear and floats freely between the two points, and Alan's placement in relation to the middles of my ridge was stellar! Overall I would say that my experience was a very good one, and I'd likely go back. Alan's gloves, which he constantly changed, fit snugly onto his hands, and he sanitized any surface either of us touched after the procedure. The environment was very clean, mellow, I was talked through each step of the process as it happened, and I enjoyed the incense burned, music played, jewelry on display, and the weirdly homey Asheville vibe to the place. I do recommend!

I did plenty of research when looking for a good shop to get my septum pierced at. Bella jewelry and piercing came highly recommended by the google reviews, so I opted to go there. Its a small little shop right downtown, so you may not think much of it when you pass by, but it is quite possibly the best place to get any piercing done! Nic is extremely educated and has been doing this for several years now. He is comforting and doesn't scare you with the "gory" details (in case you're squeamish). He talked me through the whole process, from top to bottom, not missing a beat. During the actual piercing he stayed very calm and was gentle. His process of consent is what made me feel the most comfortable bc it was on MY time. I recommend this place to literally everyone I come into contact with now who's looking to get a piercing done. I went in originally to see about getting some help with putting some new jewelry in (those darn captive beads!), but came out with a new piercing instead! I talked with Nic, and after finding out that the jewelry I had purchased was cheapo and I probably shouldn't wear it due to my nickel allergy, I peeped around at the store's jewelry to see if I could find anything that really piqued my interest. There was a really nice selection of GREAT quality jewelry and it was really difficult to decide what I wanted; did I want a new piercing? Did I just want new jewelry? The options are endless!! I finally decided to get my left nostril pierced with a really cute blue/green opal stud. I have my right nostril pierced already, so I knew some general procedure, but Nic was sure to explain everything that he did in detail in order to make sure I knew exactly what was going on. He sterilized the jewelry, cleaned the outside and inside of my nostril with rubbing alcohol, and then began to mark my nose for the piercing. After a few attempts at making sure my two nostril piercings would be as symmetrical and even as possible, the actual piercing process began. First, he cleaned the outside of my nose He made me lie down, and pierced from the inside of my nose out. Once he was all set up and was ready to pierce, I took a deep breath in through my nose and let it out through my mouth as he pushed the needle through. Once the jewelry was put in place he let me see, and then he explained all aftercare instructions clearly to ensure I knew exactly how to take care of it. Overall, I had an absolutely amazing experience! Nic was super neato and extremely knowledgeable and I would totally recommend him to anybody that wants to get a new piercing, or even just to get their jewelry upgraded! The jewelry selection at the store is really nice, and I like that they have so many options!

Absolutely love this shop. I will never go anywhere else to get pierced. After reading the reviews on Google, I went in to get my nipples pierced. Alan was very careful to get the placement correct and pick out the right length barbells so they wouldn't be too short and pinch or be too long and catch on everything (I mention this because my first piercing I got somewhere else and had to go back the next day to get it switched out and it still wasn't right). Everything went into the autoclave right in front of me and the whole room was very clean. It hurt like hell, but I was expecting it too. I will admit to being a little worried about the placement, but now that the swelling has gone down they look perfect. I couldn't be happier!

By far the best piercing experience I've ever had! Had both of my nipples pierced by Nic and they look so much better than I ever thought they would. Before getting the piercing I stopped in a few days before to ask all of the questions that I had been incessantly googling. He was able to answer them definitively from a background of anatomy knowledge that all of the piercers at Bella are obligated to study do to their APP certification. The day I went in to get pierced Alan helped me pick out jewelry and Nic spent around a full hour with me in the piercing room. Drawing piercing marks to make sure they were perfect, using an autoclave to sterilize the jewelry and pick out the appropriate barbell length to ensure comfort in case of the normal swelling that can occur after being pierced. The entire procedure was extremely professional, clean and actually super enjoyable. Nic was so personable and communicative the whole time. As a woman having a stranger pierce your private regions it is important that there is clear communication about touch, and Nic made me feel so comfortable and relaxed, a true professional. Everything about the experience was fantastic, well worth the slightly higher prices for a clean pierce, gorgeous jewelry and excellent customer service.

Bella is by far the best piercing shop in town. The piercers are incredibly professional and knowledgeable as well as being warm and approachable, which doesn't always come hand in hand! It's the perfect spot for both folks new to the piercing game and old pros. The jewelry is all titanium grade and they have a solid selection of BVLA and Neometal pieces (and is the only shop in town I'm aware of that carries those high tier brands). And if you don't find exactly what you're looking for, Alan (one of the three piercers) custom makes some of the most beautiful jewelry I've ever seen- and can work with you to come up with your exact vision. Best part is the downtown location... with a parking lot. I get asked a bunch where my nostril jewelry came from (the end pieces can be switched to new stones) and I always jump at the chance to brag on my experience. Thanks again, Bella fellas!

My experience at Bella was wonderful! I walked in ready to get my daith pierced and after Derek and Alan both looked at my ears they deemed myself as not a candidate. They explained to me that my daith was too shallow to do a proper piercing and that if they tried it would be a pain to heal and very painful altogether. While I was bummed that I could not get it pierced, I was so thankful that they were honest with me and that they took the time to explain the reasoning to me. I feel like a lot of places would have just pierced it anyway without really telling the truth. I found this place on Yelp and went to give it a shot for myself. There was store front parking which I was very thankful for due to the rain that day. I walked into the store, it was a small clean building. I requested Nic to do my piercing. Nic has incredible bedside manner and was able to answer all questions and direct me to the appropriate choices in jewelry. The jewelry here is in the high end side. He charged $40 for the nose piercing and $50 for the gold jewelry. The piercing took place in a small, very clean room in the back. Nic told me everything he was doing in advance and he was gentle and soothing. It hardly hurt at all and he was done before I could really think about it. I can not recommend this place enough. I will say they don't like you to call as you will reach a recording that directs you to email them. But even through email or DM they were every quick to respond.

I understand that restrictions have to be put in place due to COVID-19, but the attitude was unnecessary. If customers are not allowed to enter the store, maybe the door should be locked? I didn't notice a sign, but that doesn't mean it wasn't there. We were rushing to get out of the storm.

I came into Bella knowing I wanted a conch piercing but was terrified out of my mind. It was something I'd wanted since I was 15 (so 10 years) and was held back by my crippling needle phobia. I was so tired of being afraid and managed to get myself into the building where Nic was sitting calmly making jewelry. He talked to me for so long about his recommendations like if he were my friend. He came up with solutions for how to achieve my look without compromising the health of the piercing and my comfort. After a lifetime of indesicion I went forward and signed the paperwork. I felt like I was sleepwalking due to the horrible anxiety but Nic was so kind and patient. He gave me so many chances to back out even after he had sterilized and opened everything. When the time came and the needle went in I cried so hard but he didn't judge me at all. He was so freakin nice and gave me a lollipop and made jokes with me. He never made me feel like an idiot and gave me the strength to face my fear. I am so thankful that he gave me my first piercing. The place was classy and clean. I didn't have to wait which was so critical for me because if I had had to wait I think I would have run out of there. 10/10 would recommend.
