Years ago I went to two different Dr’s, one local and one in Houston for a breast reduction, then I went for a consultation with Dr Suma Maddox, at her Lake Charles office. I was denied by insurance for each Dr. I was diagnosed with bulging disc in my neck and still the insurance denied my reduction surgery. It was an emotional roller coaster because my arms were going numb no matter how I tried sleeping. Victoria, her registered nurse, wrote the insurance a very professional letter on my behalf ( and without my knowledge) - I also had various doctors and therapist write statements to send to the insurance company. Finally, I was granted a breast reduction. Dr Maddox was personal and professional during the whole process of pre and post op! I did develop and unusual Staph infection which the Dr directed me on what exactly to do so I was never in any danger. The breast tissue removed showed abnormal but benign cells, so Dr Maddox immediately referred me to a well know local specialist. The total of four pounds removed gave me the self confidence I had always lacked. It was then, I decided to take care of the belly flap after three children and lack of exercise Dr Maddox completed a tummy tuck on me in September of 2022 and I again gained a little more self confidence! Once again she was very professional and her staff was amazing! Each one of her office team members take personal interest in You! This goes from the clerical staff to the medical staff! I was an athlete with a block body and now at 50+ years ( yuck) I can see a much better defining waistline! Also, when I personally see a picture of myself, I don’t see “all breast”. I have been very pleased with the each procedure and care. If I could change one thing, it would be the time the Dr now has to spend with each patient! In my opinion, quality time spent with a Dr is a vital part of any experience. Her practice seems to have grown so well, that the extra time is hard to come by. She is lucky to have her staff by her side who can easily take up any slack and answer most questions ( or seek the answers) when the Dr is rushed!
