Reviews of Metropolitan Market Sand Point
It is understood that Met. Markets are expensive stores. Not sure why the same can of mushroom soup costs about $0.50 more a can than anywhere else but, it does. Anyway, I don't shop there often but do, or did, get coffee once in a while. It was $2.75 (too much even then) and they just raised it to $3.25! They can keep it and their $3 donuts as well.
Sushi used to be great here— haven’t seen this lady named “Beth” for a while. When she was there the sushi was the bomb. Now the nigiri is still okay but the rolls kind of fall apart, and they don’t have nearly the selection they used to. Had some of the poke and it was still partly frozen, not really lunch ready. Still better than your safeway sushi fare but it used to be close to restaurant quality.
Sheek little maket! Looking for that extra something to add to dinner? This place has it....or jut come for the smells always something great cooking at the deli!
A pleasure to shop here! Lots of local produce and other items. Ready to eat fresh food are great too! Nice selection of wine and liquor. Ample parking in a quiet residential area. Highly recommended!
they have alot of seafood options ( poke, tuna, sushi, etc ) and food... so delicious.. you also have to try " the cookie " especially when it's warm! so good
Love this store. Always makes me hungry to shop there. 😀 Managed to talk an out of town friend into coming shopping with me here rather than Whole Paycheck. She spent about 5 minutes inside before proclaiming "this is so much better then Whole *****!" …
This grocery store is certainly fantastic on many levels. Big hot food bar and deli that easily competes with the whole foods in the area. Great sushi, fantastic produce huge wine and beer selection. All that is awesome except when you go to check out. Giant lines no space to move around and a complete lack of self checkout. I know it requires space and easier said than done but the value of a self checkout is huge, check any QFC, any whole foods the self checkout is a must have.
I absolutely love this grocery store. They have it all. Amazing veggie dept, delicious meat department…endless food selections and home supply items… then there is the pre-made meals, buffet, salad bar and deserts. Wonderful gift items too.
Most of the staff has worked there for years. They have been resilient during covid obstacles and are great people.
The deli has the best chili crisp oil in Seattle.
Gorgeous delicious cakes. We all know The Cookie is insane, the meats and seafood are fresh, and the service is excellent, but this buttercream + raspberry filling + white cake was insane. Get a cake at Met Market now!
Exceptional worldwide products selection and excellent quality of products. Premium and high price.
The place has excellent groceries in general, but their sushi bar at the deli makes the best sushi you can get outside of a restaurant that specializes in it.
They also have excellent cookies, teas, and Italian sodas at their little cafe attached to the deli. I'd assume their coffee is good too, but I'm not a coffee drinker so I can't say for certain. Their deli has lots of great things too.
The only downside is that everything here is expensive, but you get what you pay for, and here that's premium food.
Great store with high quality products. The deli is amazing! You can get great meals, including holiday meals such as full Thanksgiving dinners. They have a nice salad bar, pasta station, and desserts. Staff is very friendly and helpful.
I do love this particular Metropolitan Market. This market usually has some specialty items that I just can't live without! Deli cases are organized, clean and attractive. Nice floral dept. Fresh vegetables & meats. Great selection of cheeses.
I am always amazed by the selection at this Metropolitan Market. They have an amazing selection of cheeses, meats, beer, special foods (gluten free, vegan, etc), and I am never left disappointed by their friendly staff.
They are a tad more expensive than your average grocery store, but their selection, quality and service is head and shoulders above.
Fairly good sized up-scale supermarket with a focus on 'natural foods'. Very good produce (some items hard to find elsewhere - sunchokes!) 3 buffet tables plus hot soup, a good group of prepared refrigerated foods. Fresh meats with service, deli counter, wines, cold beer/ale, dairy, one aisle of frozen, collection of imported foods, and the normal collection of grocery items. Clean.
Fairly helpful staff - I lost my keys the other day; once I was passed off to an upper-level help, they were very helpful and solicitous. Lots of counter help to make up bakery, deli, meats/fish.
They have rotating themes at their buffet tables - check the web site for their schedule; my favorite days are Wednesdays!
Top notch supermarket with a great produce section, deli, wine department and really nice flowers as well. Haven't touched the meat dept yet, but now have high expectations. Clean and bright, and the staff is very friendly and will take time for you. Definitely a keeper.
It’s a well stocked and well maintained MM location, one of the better ones in the greater Seattle area. The restrooms are always clean, and the deli has fresh, quality food. Sushi prices are reasonable. There’s a bakery, and all the produce is in excellent condition.
The price is high, but the quality is always good. I love the seafood, the cheese, bakery, produce, beverages... just about all of the selection. They do have more affordable and less fancy brands as well, it's just hard to buy them next to the pretty ones. Customer service is always excellent and you don't have to wait long for a checker.
As an InstaCart Shopper it's usually hard to find store help even though there always seems to be a plethora of service workers behind the counters. I do have to give a big THANK YOU! to Carol in the meat department she was very friendly and helpful and helped me to feel welcomed in the alien environment of the ever changing products in this grocery store. :)
I love their amazing coffee selection! They have some of the best roasters in the PNW and lots of the bags are fresh within days of being roasted and clearly dated on the bags! Perfect for those who use fresh beans for ESPRESSO. also the coffee shop within has the best coffee in the area. 10/10 and I'm a very picky coffee drinker.
Thank you Gavin for helping me find that green tea and for giving me the best Metropolitan Market shopping experience in months!!! 👏 Great Job! 5 Stars …
Good options to choose from and fresh fruits. Store is clean and organized and from the options in the area this is the store Ii will go to.
Friendly staff. Reasonably priced. Leather you do not get everything. Otherwise super. Wheelchair accessible paths. Unfortunately, as in many stores, no shopping cart for wheelchairs.
Great quality products and good variety but VERY expensive compared to other grocery stores. Their fries are overpriced but have good texture and sauce. The pastries have a high standard overall.
4.5 stars to me but its p good. Kinda overpriced deli stuff but overall good, + the cookie is great
If If you ever in the mood to shop somewhere that has the prices of whole foods but isn't fully organic then this is your place. Let's just call it a poor man's whole foods.
They have some pretty good prepared food. They also have great produce and a good florist section. I tend to come here if I need to get a specialty type of meat, cheese or wine. But be warned all of that specialty is going to cost you. This certainly isn't one of those places that you come to do all your shopping for the week. It's more if you want to run in and grab as few things or if you have some specific in mind that you can't find at your large chain grocery store.
Met Market is notable for its bakery, specifically the Cookie. "What's the big deal about a cookie?" you ask. It's THE Cookie, first of all. Please show it the respect it deserves. Honestly, you just have to eat one to really understand the cult following this cookie garners. Perfectly crisp and golden on the outside, warm and gooey on the inside. It always tastes like it just came out of the oven. I wouldn't buy anything else at MM; it is super expensive.
The floral department did the flowers for my wedding last weekend and they were so beautiful. We changed florists a couple of weeks before the wedding because of poor customer service at the first florist. So, on fairly short notice Metropolitan Market floral department met with my mom and got our flowers ordered. I had a fairly specific look I wanted for the bridal bouquet and it turned out exactly as planned, and the bridesmaid bouquets were pre-made mixed bouquets that the florist ordered and my mom "edited" to help the match the wedding colors (just removing any dark flowers). The price was reasonable too.
As a food blogger and wellness journalist, I am always on the hunt for seasonal, top quality produce and Met Market has yet to disappoint.
I often take advantage of their broad and diverse selection of to-go options (salad, soups, sandwiches, etc) and their coffee bar.
Must try items:
• Organic mango salsa - located in the produce section.
• Matcha latte - from the espresso bar.
• Poke bar - found in the deli.
Best produce and deli/hot food options around. It’s a great local market with good quality products, and super convenient and fun to shop.
The hot food selection here is amazing. Towards the end of my bicycle ride my legs were gone, so I had to pull over and find something to eat. Glad I stopped here!
Great foods! Fresh. Delicious. Little spendy if you shop at Walmart, otherwise it is what you pay for local food from a local market.
They have a little of everything
Met Market is nice but it is definitely more expensive than other grocery stores. For specialty things that are harder to find or things you want the highest quality at a premium you should get from Met Market. For everything else go to a more mainstream grocery store.
Nice items at this grocery. Staff a bit slow and made many mistakes. Bagger was so slow, waited forever for her to done after we paid and she bagged it all wrong, eggs and juice on top of bananas? I now have a bunch of bruised bananas. The cashier couldn't change the receipt paper, gave up and moved herself and us to a new register after we asked if we should change lanes due to it taking so much time and the person she called over for help wasn't able to do it either. When all was said in done, finally in the car, noticed on the receipt that I was charged for 4 packs of cider, I only got 1. Back in the store to get back the $33 I over paid, lol, it sure did take a while.....nice products but be prepared to take some time at the check out and watch how your produce is packed as well as what you get charged.
Pros: Great bakery (try "The Cookie"), poke bar, florals/gifts. Decent deli. Has organic/hippy stuff like a Whole Foods/PCC but also has everyday staple brands.
Cons: Tends to be more expensive for everything.
Warm and friendly owner and staff. Always remember my favorite dishes and that I'm vegetarian. Produce is always fresh and everything I've had has been delicious.
Metropolitan Market has one of the best selections of local baked goods, produce, and wine. They also rely on local distributors and are a local company, with administrative offices in the Delridge area. As far as great local companies go, the only comparable grocery store is PCC. They are also union, while Whole Foods isn't union. Definitely worth the extra price.
This store is great for foodie cooking too: fancy, imported cheeses, specialty produce items and lots of different ethnic grocery items you might not find at any store.
Their deli food is the BOMB for lunch and they have espresso too, and get their coffee beans from Caffe Vita.
So, three weeks before my wedding last July, I realized it was time to order a bouquet. Okay, past time to order a bouquet, but other plans had fallen through, so, there I was, bouquet-less and too much of a cheapskate (and procrastinator) to go to a florist. Then I had the brainstorm of ordering it from the floral department of a grocery store.
The Sand Point store of Metropolitan Market came through with flying colors. I decided on a simple bouquet of red roses with matching boutonnieres. Not only did Metropolitan Market provide the whole shooting match for around a hundred dollars, but they also had multiple shades of red to choose from and worked with me to try to match the style I liked (and didn’t even mind when I changed my mind once or twice). Great service!
Beautiful produce selection. Good combination of specialty foods and basics.
My go-to, whenever I'm in the neighborhood.
My new favorite market. Their lunch spread is great, and their local selection is vast. Go if you can, but it's more expensive than most places nearby. That said, you get what you pay for!
I actually found a unique gift there, but they have a nice selection of high quality locally grown food. Pleasant shopping atmosphere on a smaller scale.
Great place for shopping. They have wide variety of organics. Even their cooked buffet tastes great. Fresh collection of meat. On the downside bit expensive.
Great quality food. On the pricier side but you get what you're paying for and it's not weird stuff like at Whole Foods, it's normal but high quality fare
High quality produce, deli counter is well stocked with cured meats and cheeses. Bread is solid, the cookie is super good.
EVERYTHING about this store is Fantastic ‼‼ The only negative is my difficulty in making a Quick stop. I always want to look around and usually/often buy things that couldn't be considered *necessary,* but Always Delicious ❗
Overpriced and filled with pretentious Tesla driving customers. And the employees look like they hate their lives. Probably because they make minimum wage to serve customers who cuss them out for not making their coffees in under 3 seconds.
Prices are high but an excellent place to swing through on a bike ride along the Burke-GIlman trail. Grab a couple of deli items and head for Magnuson Park to enjoy the water and the views. A great Seattle day!
Contrary to another writer on this website, I have found the Metropolitan Market cashiers to be extremely friendly, courteous and professional. I have no idea who the other writer ran into, but my wife and I have been going to MM for over ten years and NEVER have had a bad experience.
This place is great and the produce is usually very fresh you will get the odd rotten veggies from time to time and the prices are a little on the mote expensive side compared to Costco or Walmart, but other than that it’s normally very good and I’ve never had a problem with the staff.
This is the best market for quality items. And things you need every day. There is always something new to discover, too. Great staff, great service. Love this place.
This market has many items that are difficult to find. I love it! I don't buy staples here because it is pricey for ordinary items but I love it for the unusual products. Wish there were more branches of this great store.
Pricy place, but worth it for some epicurian luxeries you can't find at your regular grocers. Usually above average produce and service, but they were out of two items I wanted in my last trip.
Great selection of deli foods lots of healthy drinks and a laid back place to eat it. Oh and it has great groceries too!
Let's face it, this is food for the rich. The meat and produce are excellent. The service is great, even at rush times. But buy your staples elsewhere.
The food is delicious and the bakery is devilously tempting! The price range is pretty high so that keeps me from buying everything I see!
While the Met is a costlier place to shop on a day to day basis, it is worth the trip for a) Seawolf bread which arrives daily at 9am b) the decadent, chocolaty salty cookies they peddle warm, c) the super kind staff. Look for specials when trying to be kind to your pocket book.
Great store they have just about everything you can imagine! It's a chef's paradise! One of the employees "Acacia" was such a great help when I had a problem!
Amazing store and awesome workers there! They make me feel at home! Love the different types of food and what they have!
Customers are aloof, but the employees are great. Especially Matt, he's fast, efficient, can take a joke. The clientele are snooty but oh well.
Rachel the Store Director is the best!
Expensive but worth it for unique specialty items. Awesome cheese and wines. The ultimate fresh baked cookies and gelato bar.
The chocolate chip cookie is amazingly delicious, just don't try to eat the whole thing, it's huge. 🍪 …
Always clean, always top quality with super staff. Premium foods at fair prices. Easy parking too.
Good place to shop for certain items and they do have good sales each week. Friendly and helpful staff. I enjoy shopping here.
Met Market is great, very clean and the people are friendly. They have a great hot lunch bar, and they also have a splendid fruit selection.
High end market, their own butcher shop, fresh seafood, fabulous deli, big selection of cheese, wine, bakery.
I bought my bridal bouquet here. It was great. She listened to what I wanted and made it real.
I love this market. The chicken is great, and those garlic mashed potatoes!!!!! So yummy.
Too polished and upscale for me, but has good cheese selection, good bread, and tasty prepared dishes.
Great neighborhood grocery. Upscale like the neighborhood. Selection is generally complete, but not always a lot of alternatives.
Nice open parking lot. Fresh and eye appealing meats, vegetables, fruits and bakery along with a friendly staff!
The best of all things. Customer service is top notch too! I love the fresh produce.
Great selection of Organic and very fresh produce. Excellent service. Nice wine selection.
Great store when you don't want to cook.
Nice salad bar and soup.
Ok, cake weirdo.. The rating is for the WHOLE store, which in my opinion is as comprehensive yet selective as a market of its size can be. My go to place
Great variety of organic produce, fresh meat and fish, not that good on other groceries
They have the best cookies!
Great selection of top end foods and wine, couldn't find a bulk section, though
Love this store, great produce and lots of healthy options.
A very nice store, a good meal and seafood department; excellent specially depts.
Met market does a nice job of offering high quality produce without the prices of places like Whole Foods
I like shopping here but miss your fresh tomato basil soup. Whats up?
Impeccable service at the meat counter. Roast was ready for pick up on time and cut was top notch
Upscale local market, regular prices are kind of pricey. Good selection of precooked foods.
Customer service isn't at good here as other locations, but you get all the great items as either locales.
I always love Met Market. They have absolutely everything. Cheese...so much cheese. Love this place.
I love met market they have amazing food i always get "The Cookie" which is amazing
I had a great experience. Good service; ,attention to me as customer and very good products. Would highly recommend.
i love to cook and i love quality, not to mention the incredible warm chocolate chip cookies😊 …

Surprising selection of hot sauces. The produce here is often fantastic.
Great produce, great meats, great cheeses, great spot... WS's my fav
Best supermarket in Seattle for prepared foods. On the pricey side though
Great local market in the heart of the in-between, between University Village and Sandpoint way - right off the Burke-Gilman trail.
I always love the incredible selection of goodies and the sweet staff.
Upscale market with high grade produce, great deli, cheese and meat market
It's a very nice grocery. You get what you pay for.
Great stop when I ride or run on the trail. Good quality and service!
Upscale market, so nice food but a little pricey
Many items to offer. The Deli is amazing
Great salad bar, but a little pricey.
Expensive, but foods are always good. Especially the desserts.
Clean and great choices. Salad bar and soup bar are great
1. Friendly
2. Always open
3. A little expensive
They take care of you like family!
Lovely supermarket, great selection, decent prices
Hot food, espresso, groceries; Open 24/7!
How does a place that looks so large on the outside have so little on the inside? It is a mystery of Dr. Who proportions.
Great quality foods for wine selection
I love this store very good environment
Great deli and bakery, touch expensivr
Very nice seafood soup. Close to trail.
Good service and good products. But the place is expensive.
Lots of tasty deli selections.
Metropolitan market they better produce then QFC
They used to carry lion bars. No more apparently🙁 …
Incredible customer service, selection and a gem in the community.
The Cookie and the Caribbean Pork sandwich.
Very difficult to find napkins and plastic utensils...
