Reviews of City Foods
Best place to visit if you need any groceries to shop.
They have almost everything as you can buy at big markets.
Very kind workers and great atmosphere. Good wine collection is plus
I love this place! They have a fresh deli for the lunch hours and all the essentials if you forgot to grab some thing or just want a bite to eat and a beer to have at home. They're open early until pretty late.
The gentleman cashiering here is amazing! Not just as an employee, but genuinely one of the nicest, best people I’ve ever seen.
He was incredibly patient and caring with an old lady buying her groceries, helped her with everything, going above and beyond for her. He was genuinely interested in her stories, patiently repeated everything back to her when she misheard something (which was pretty much constant) had a great report with her, and showed her so much compassion and understanding - simply amazing!
Wonderful interaction, 10/5 stars if I could give it!
Deli sandwiches here are solid and not a bad price at $8.50. I get the New Yorker with horseradish. Staff isn't the most bubbly group ever but they are nice if you are nice to them. Good lunch option
A lady cashier in the morning of Dec 24 was super nice.
I used to frequent before my favorite person got a job at Boeing. Jordan and Laura are wonderful. Their new hire, Miles, isn’t great.
Best corner store in Belltown! Fun staff, creative and delicious deli foods in the cold case, and open the same hours (7am to midnight) every day. I'm not a drinker but, to the untrained eye, the beer and wine selection looks impressive. Worth a visit!
City Foods is my absolute go to. They have a great selection, great price point, and awesome service. Bob is my favorite cashier, he has the most positive demeanor, I always leave smiling!
I'm not sure why there are so many negative comments, perhaps in the past this may have not been the best of places to shop(?). I use to go by for late night snacks, smokes, and beer back in 2002-05 when I lived in Belltown and worked at Shortys Bar, and still shop there even to this day whenever I'm in the area. City Foods is under a fairly new ownership and has improved tremendously. There is always fresh Deli food and produce as well as a whole plethora of micro brews ,beer on tap for growlers, domestic and import beers to choose from as well as fresh dairy products and an endless selection of tasty energy drinks and sodas. Massive frozen foods section and toiletries, plus other miscellaneous items such as pet food, various snacks, tobacco products and even incense and fragrant candles to choose from. As for prices, yes some items may be a little higher than a supermarket but you can find good deals if you spend a little time browsing thru the store. Keep in mind, I imagine the store must pay a fortune on rent and electric costs alone not to mention pay all their employees and still be able to turn a profit in one of the most expensive cities in the country. So overall I would have to say their prices are fair and what you would expect for convenience. The staff are very friendly, knowledgeable about most of their products, and will always do their best to help you find whatever you are looking for....and feel free to bring your well behaved furry four-legged friend because City Foods is dog friendly too! Overall I would have to say they have earned 5 out of 5 stars due to all of their improvements and awesome staff. Hope my review helps. Thanks for reading!
I've been here twice now and each time the staff were pleasant and fairly busy with customers... which is surprising on how badly the reviews are. Me thinks there are some millennial snowflake yuppies who expect food in 1.21 seconds and want it certified open source, cage free with their Amazon discount for 90% off.
Come on people, step outside of your ivory tower and think about what its like for a small business owner slinging sandwiches.
They are rather large portioned sandwiches and we are here several times a week. First half sandwich you eat for lunch, the other half for mid day snack when blood sugar drops.
Get the Ruben, you are welcome.
Great selection of groceries while there grab a quick deli sandwich. You may get a history lesson as you pay which was a nice supprise on a Sunday evening.
I was actually shocked that they open early. Over all nice spot
It's a convenience store and has most essential groceries which you might need urgently. Slightly pricey.
A good place to pickup those one or two items you need to hold you over till you can make it to the larger grocery store.
it's basically a convenience store with better selection of items, but at convenience store prices
Food does not look so good. The cashier faked me money. I paid more than I bought!.
Great experience with the cashier. Highly recommended!
Good local business, need to get the growler situation fixed
Good selection and friendly people
Large selection for a neighborhood store
Very expensive for the most basic items!
Good variety need more organic
Quick. Friendly. Nice selection.
Pretty expensive.. won't go back there.
Their deli is excellent 👌 …
Long time neighborhood store. Kinda expensive.
8.99 for Torpedos, I'm in!
Liked it
Awesome sandwichs
Super expensive
Great location

Better go to Walgreens or 7/11.
