Reviews of Belltown Grocery
Good local grocery - and much more of an actual grocery than I was expecting. I was thinking "convenience store" way more complete, better prices, and even produce (though I'd be picky with it, honestly). But in general, impressed, and will definitely be shopping here again.
I enjoy going to Dan's bc I like the people who work there and the products they have. What I don't like is the neighborhood and sometimes there are folks who stand outside and beg you for money.
Love this Grocery store! Cashiers are very friendly and courteous! The meatloaf and mashed potatoes with gravy dinners are to die for! The lasagna dinners are awesome! The BBQ chicken is scrumptious! If you don't feel like cooking and you want a decent cooked meal. Belltown Grocery is the place to shop!
Awesome improvements to the store itself but they now charge 3% for credit card on all purchases which is insane. Most places would do that if you pay under 10$ or so, but to do this for all charges is just harsh.
Nice place. Bigger than a convenient store. Great fried food. They take food stamps
This place is awesome they have normal stuff, but also specialty stuff like hard kombucha or beyond meat jerky. Now they have fried chicken.
Little oasis of fresh goods. Bus stop right out front, dog park next door. Very accessible.
I shop here because it's close and convenient. Love the people who work there. But it's right where some of the homeless (and this is coming from someone low income himself!) and dodgy people tend to hang near. So, they have to deal with heaps of riffraff, thefts and broken windows sometimes. Other than that, it's just useful for quick items.
Very good & clean store definitely coming back. Great varieties
Very friendly and cooperative staff and this place is my all time favorite. They serve with good quality food and customer service. The service is super fast and staff is always very helpful. The products are always very fresh and I love going there a lot cause they keep the quality of product along with number of new products. This grocery store in town is fully recommended.
They are selling fried Cajun chicken now and it's amazing. Unfortunately, under their new owners/management, the only personable employee seems to be the one woman that is a carry over from the previous owner. Always double check that the chicken in your box is what you paid for before leaving!
A little pricey and a little sketch due to nearby bus station and downtown location. Get the job done.
Great place to pickup things you forgot,or if you need a great sandwich for lunch!
the lines are long and sometimes I miss my bus but I get breakfast there often in the service is great the cashiers are sometimes a little talkative though but mostly I would have to say it's probably thepatrons that do most of the talking distracting the cashiers
Friendly personnel and great fried chicken 🍗 …
Quiet nifty useful neighborhood store. Grocery and alcohol and a deli making sandwiches and baking brownies before us. Quick in and out.
I love Dan's. I especially like three things--Their ever changing selection of fresh fruit, their pies (phenomenal pies), and a real paper newspaper. It's my favorite Belltown neighborhood market. The people there are always super nice too!
It's cheaper to buy in the groceries though for some of their items. The quality of their products was good as expected. Try their products and you won’t regret it for sure. I am deeply impressed by how everything turned well for my plans. Such a wonderful place to do groceries. Great service and pricing!
Like the store and people dangerous out side on sidewalk in front of store
whoever is making the banana bread a big thumbs up to you. The staff are always very helpful, I'm so thankful you are in Belltown. Great store has a bit of everything. My dog Darbie says they are dog friendly
The only problem I have with this place is All store clerks Assume you are a criminal as soon as you come thru the door. They even cuss out the regular shoppers that enter the store. Very rude, and talk to customers real crazy.
Not impressed with the customer service.
The fact that they carry some meat products in grocery is the ONLY reason I stop in. Otherwise I would go elsewhere.
Always good for dinner and a show, or at least snacks and shenanigans lol! Great store for average grocery staples, but in a convenience store, you pay a little extra for that ease. Good crew too! I can't believe some of outlandish BS I often see them having to deal with; I'd likely get fired in my first week lol!
Much appreciated DBG crew!

Pretty nice for a neighborhood grocery store. Decent assortment of foods, although you shouldn't expect to see different brands of the same item. I've seen posts of people warning to check the expiration date, but Ive never had an issue.
The staff is usually pretty nice, although a couple of the night staff can be a bit surly. Keep the neighborhood in mind, there are a lot of people hanging around the bus stop and the staff have to deal with some ridiculous situations. Part of the charm of downtown living.
Yesterday I bought a Reuben sammy 2 share with my friend/neighbor, Bitsy, a large bag of fresh Bing cherries, pasta salad + a big coconut cream pie. YUMMY!! That's PLENTY of food for LESS than $25!
Dan's has everything! You walk into a welcoming area with a hot & packaged food bar, a huge wine selection on dark wood racks, and friendly employees. You'll find everything from gluten free mac & cheese to fresh produce & greeting cards. Yes, they carry lots of gluten free goodies. Don't let the bus stop outside deter you; it's worth the stop, especially for locals who don't want to head out of the neighborhood for provisions.
Staff has always been a treat here, and I enjoy that they are dog-friendly. Only downside is that there are a lot of homeless people, drunks, and drug addicts hanging around the entrance. If the staff weren't as awesome as they are, I'd be going further out of my way to another store.
Awesome deli food a bit pricey but the bbq chicken is worth every penny it is delicious, they also sell or cooked individual meals like meatloaf w/ mashed potatoes, spaghetti ,ect. This is great for people who live alone and don't wanna cook
Compared to most convenience style grocery stores, Dan's has a larger selection like that of a larger grocery store. Pet friendly, they allow your dog to accompany you. (They're next door to the dog park) Very friendly staff and excellent prices
Best grocery store in Belltown! Literally has all the basics you could need and then some! Produce, fruit, meat, cheese, bread, milk, canned goods, frozen, cleaning products, paper products, beer and wine. I even bought a drain stopper. Prices are not outrageous like a convenience store, they are on par with Safeway. The entry and front are a little gritty but keep your eyes open and you'll be fine. I literally love this place.
Great selection of food items. They carry a lot of items you wouldn't find that your normal mom-and-pop Corner Grocery Store.
This is my market righhhh hea frfr cuz
Kind of a cramped location but they do a great job with selection, which I prefer here compared to the larger Potter Hill location. Employees are a mixed bag in terms of helpfulness and of course the prices aren't great. But the quality and convenience are still the big draws.
These guys are honest!!! Such a rare trait to find in people these days, much less a business. I have had my dropped wallet returned, and a $200 bike light I used to hold my bike in place and left it. Kudos guys!!!
Good beer and food when you need it
Don't get me started on the cold case next to the register
Thankfully this location has a small parking garage otherwise I would never think to come here. Other than that a pretty typical whole foods. Though this location always seems busy they are able to get customers through pretty quick. I also like the coffee spot on the lower level.
I gave four stars because they do their best. Not a mom and pop beer shop - they actually have groceries. It is just that they are a bit pricey because there aren't any big grocery stores near by. But they fill the niche for convenience.
Nice small nabohood store, very clean, fresh meats, produce, & good variety of can food selection. Milk, can soda's, beer, wine, sparkling waters.
Pleasant people behind the counters.
Excellent small grocery store! The prices are surprisingly decent too. I'm used to paying an arm and a leg if I need to shop at a convenience store but here, at least for soups, spices, produce, and fresh foods (my usual list there), Dan's is right on par with larger grocery stores in the area.
This is more like a 3.5, they seen to have a wide variety of goods, they even have a produce section which is very nice. Price is on the high side though, compared a bag of tera chips and they were more expensive than whole foods. But, i would shop here again if i needed to.
Love this place. It's been there forever. It's clean, the people are nice if you're nice. Good hours. Good selections for a small grocery.
Very high quality foods with prices to match. Would have given it 5 stars had the prices been slightly lower. Though if you are looking for great groceries in the Belltown area this is your one stop shop.
I've lived in the Belltown neighborhood for going on 12 years and have always enjoyed shopping at Dan's. The reason I only gave them 3 stars is because lately they have been closing early. One night before midnight they' locked the doors wouldn't let anyone in. The problem was they wouldn't let customers out. I had a bus to catch.
Dan's deli has some of the dankest sandwiches and meals around. My favorite sandwich is their turkey on rosemary bread. Very affordable (around $2.50 for half around $5 for whole.)
Their bbq pork with steamed vegetables is also amazing and filled me up for only $6.
If you can grab a sandwich do it because they sell out quickly!
This little market has a bit of everything. I'm pretty much addicted to the premade sandwiches you can pick up for a quick and easy lunch--they're delicious (especially on that rosemary bread...mmm...)
I've always had friendly service there, so no complaints!
'Sir please put the beer in your jacket up here so I can ring it up and DC ont argue cause I watched you steal it's. Lol. But employees have much tolerance and super kindness in a rough spot.
Love the store I go thier at 1 a week
Dan's is quite small but you find everything you need. The people are friendly. It is relatively cheap compared to the other stores in this area. Only point of critic: the fresh meat is of very low quality.
Love the place! Bo, the cashier, has amazing customer service skills that makes people feel like they are important, or at least appreciated for coming their.
Dan's been my neighborhood grocery since 2002 .They always try to get foods I've requested also prices are same as other stores the employees are nice . I like Dan's alot and continue to shop there
so willing to accommodate my picky nature! I buy the same breakfast muffin sandwich every time I visit here. I buy it cold, pay first (EBT rule, & yes! this means they do accept EBT! YAY) and the WONDERFUL lady working at the deli counter every time I visit always obliges me when I request my sandwich heated without the egg, but rather, the egg removed and wrapped separate for my pekingese. they always remember not only myself, but my doggie and baby daughter. I love, and have for years, this great little independent market! if you're in Belltown and need to stop for something, the little extra $$ is worth the ambience, i pinky swear...
I always visit Dan's Belltown Grocery to buy food and tp cause that's the only stop for the night to use the Porta-Potty so I have to buy tp. Happy New Years.🎉 …
This is a coolest little grocery store in the middle of Belltown that stays open 24 hours a day and we stayed in the building right above them they had everything we needed and it was awesome friendly service. The prices were very reasonable for a small grocery store.
Love that place great staff known Dan's market like forever love there food and service
It's expensive. The staff is friendly, the selection is pretty limited, but it's perfect if you just want to grab a few items and go quickly.
I walk around on stores
Good selection great deli sandwiches and friendly staff
I like this store, it's just down the street so, it's convenient, their prices are high, that's why I gave 4 instead of 5 stars
Great!
A suitable place to pick up whatever you might need.
Great staff and produce.
A great selection of items and customer service.
It's very helpful location and I like to stop there that's very helpful I think
My neighborhood grocery store the staff are cool and welcoming ,helpfill,,and never too busy to just say hi how are you . major bus stops right in front too
After having many people steal from them they always tell me I can take my bag with me because they all know I don't steal.
Lots of fun and different items there ask the employees you might find something you had no idea was there 😉 …
Okay place, small produce early closing time.
Be prepared to meet weird downtown folk here, it is common to shout for them or smell like a weed. Place has some selection of thongs, but don't expect too much.
Great vibe and a chill staff. Lots to choose from here. Has the essentials and a nice mix of new interesting stuff, and it is right next to the dog park which is convenient
As good as it can be. 😃 …
The staff here, considering everything, have the patience of saints. They have a surprising variety of stuff here and the prices are reasonable. Always friendly and courteous.
Items I had wanted there. Also, it's very expensive.
Just moved to the neighborhood and needed a few things. This place blew me away with how much selection they had and how clean it was!
Love the store when I move to the neighborhood not as friendly anymore I feel as far as to call it rude on certain shift
A great neighborhood store! The prices are steeper than just about everywhere, but it's local, so I don't mind.
Got charged 11 bucks for a 12 pack sprite… is this a decent price?
I go to Dan's all the time, prices are reasonable, quality is good, and the staff is always friendly. If you can't find something somewhere else, come here and you'll most likely find it.
Love the location & appreciate the staff but... overpriced (even for the area). I suppose theft would be high at this location though so it must be to offset that?
Really great staff, good prices. Not a huge selection but the stuff they do have is good quality.
The place is all right prices are pretty high, when I feel like being lazy and not walking to Target I usually come to Dan's, serpentining bums and crackheads is part of the process but the but staff is friendly and really are there to help
You can find most of your grocery needs here. People at the counter are friendly. Although the entrance is a bit sketchy. Lot of homeless people hang around there
Super friendly staff, good selection, I enjoy this store.
Dan's is a great small market, they have great prices on some things, not so great on others, but that's true of almost every store.
The biggest little grocery store. Fresh produce. Always a colorful scene, and some good prices on stuff you want.
It's a local grocery store, and the staff is friendly, but it never smells very good.
The service is friendly, but the prices are not. Hey I guess it's hard to have both. There are also random appearances of drunks around the late hours.
Pretty meager selection. Prices too high. My friend used to call this place "Dan's Fleecing the Underclass Market."
Very friendly and helpful staff. They were even open on Thanksgiving
Store is clean and organized great for grabbing the necessities
The store has a lot more than I thought
My favorite place I go very friendly down to earth kinda place.
you need to keep your eye on prices. not everything is as it seems. watch what tax's you are being charge for also. and if you use plastic get your receipt.
I have always gone to Dan's and I still do.great deli style food with a neighborhood feel
One staff member was very rude, other than that it's a nice store.
Greats Staff! Nobody has ever been rude to me and I enjoy going here often.
Long time Belltown Market, good selection next to family/pet safe, off leash dog park.
OMG THEY SELL T-BONE STEAKS WITH THE RIGHT AMT OF TRIM ON THEM.(fat around the edge old school style like gramma Freud up)
Its a nice little store for grab and go. Staff are real nice
The guy at the cashier was incredibly nice and friendly :) Thanks for the pleasant chat!
A great place to grab groceries in Belltown. Produce is high quality.
A friendly grocery store in downtown Seattle. Must wade through the crackheads to get inside, but once you're in it's all good.
Dan's has everything I need! Great prices and the staff are friendly and helpful.❤
Extremely overpriced for Seattle!! However being it's 3 blocks makes it a necessary evil.
Definitely convenient to my spapartment, but a bit on the pricey side#
Good customer service. Everything you need is there.Very accessible.
Lack of large selection, but good for quick pickups in the neighborhood
The staff is always very friendly and helpful.
Dropped in for a sandwich. Very tasty. Very friendly. Nice people.
Fast, convenient, a lot of food and very tasty. Fresh ingredients - vegetables.
it's ok just changed hands
Wish the store had bigger selection of fresh produce
It's ok. You can do the basic grocery shopping here.
Quiet easy to navigate the store
Nice grocery in downtown Seattle. You may need to pay some premium price though.
Great selection and friendly staff in this neighborhood market. Great selection.
Just a good responsible and steady staff.
Its a cool grocery and around the corner from my moms
friendly staff and convenient if you live in belltown :)
Fast and simple
Good place to grab a quick snack/drink to take to the park.
very overpriced like most of Belltown as far as groceries are concerned.
Mediocre corner grocery. Very limited selections of fresh food.
The deli puts this place on the map
It's a good deli....there is many things.
Products were okay but the food from there was kind of gross
Has Kind bars. Would be nice if had Larabars.
Best grocery store.
Basic stuff. I got what I was looking for. And also chocolate cakes :)
Nice store lots of variety bit pricey.
Nice place to shop , before you see a movie
Walked home from the park
Had no desire to drive
Dan's had the onions
It's a little spendy but convenient.
Customer service could be better
Great store shady traffic outside of the store
please stop stealing from dans. steal from target instead
To expensive and has an aggressive night staff.
Good place for quick things
Decent service and average variety of selection.
Bit dodgy but fruit was fresh-ish
Quick stop for the necessities. Bring the dog.
