Reviews of Ballard Farmers Market

A friend recommended me this place, I never heard of this market.
There is only street parking and it might take some time to find a parking spot.
The market itself is amazing. They have some crafts, food stalls, produce stalls and other miscellaneous stalls.
The produce was so fresh and high quality.
I got some daikon radish, potatoes, blueberry juice, blueberry powder, fresh young ginger, Asian eggplant, cabbage. I was hoping to see more Asian vegetables but i think this farmers market doesn't have any.
Highly recommend this market, you won't be disappointed.
Steve Hiday
Great market! They have a bit of everything from small bites and select meats to fresh vegetables, and frozen pops to candles. Enjoy this year-round market on the weekend.

Walking around the Ballard Farmers Market has become a Sunday ritual for my daughter and I. She loves seeing the mass of people and always finds a way to make me buy her some ice cream even on the coldest of days. This market is special and I really recommend you visiting one day, just be mindful of limited parking and long wait times for brunch in the area.

Nice and lively place. The food/items there are 2-4x the cost of a store bought one. You have to come here with a certain mindset to buy things like a 1 oz jar of honey for $11. Otherwise, it’s a nice place to walk through.
LB
An amazing market. My friend recommended it and it did not disappoint. A nice mix of produce, baked goods, food, and flowers. If you are in town on a Sunday it is not to be missed!
Phil
My favorite farmers market in Seattle.
Every Sunday 9-2pm during the spring and summer months.
It is definitely one of the busiest and largest in the city. Get there early to find “easy” parking, and on Sundays street parking is free.
Practically all of the vendors are local from WA.
Lots of produce and flowers from up in the Skagit Valley. Don’t miss the floral vendors, they have amazing bouquets and seasonal assortments.
Most of the vendors are food centric, but there is also a good selection of crafts and other locally produced items.
Bring some cash incase, but most accept card or Apple Pay.
There is usually live musical entertainment at Ballard Ave/22nd.
Amber Cheng
My beautiful Sunday morning started from this lovely farmer’s market:) It’s a wholesome place to just walk around and enjoy sunshine.
Thais
This is not just a farmers market, it’s location could make a Sunday of activities - It’s place to get fresh produce, beautiful flowers and a lovely meal around the market or to take a short walk to many Ballard breweries.
Casey T
Awesome farmers market! Lots of fruits, veggies, flowers, pizza, Mexican food, mushrooms, jewelry, etc! It was pretty crowded on Sunday at 11am but still walkable.
Alexandria Bodas
The best farmers market in town with an impressive number of vendors. Excellent variety of fresh, local, and seasonal produce as well as flowers, meat, cheese, and other goods. Always recommend getting there on the earlier end when it's less busy.
Chance Coleman
I love this place. Good hot food, crafts, fresh produce, meat, organic things, fermented things, live performances, you name it. A summer Sunday morning here is one of my favorite places to be in the world. Highly recommended.
Jason Papier
Beautiful market with a lot of fresh produce. There's something for everyone.
Deborah Mager-Strah
I have never been to such an amazing farmers market (other than Pikes Place) in one spot. The variety of fresh vegetables, baked goods, crafts, flowers is exceptional. Buskers, music, dance. Shops. Beyond impressive.
I live in Alaska, and make sure I am in Seattle area on a Sunday. So worth your time.
Will Kilcup
Best farmers market in the city....no questions asked. My perfect weekend always includes a visit to the Ballard Farmers Market and we truly are able to make it into an awesome family experience.
I'm so please with the quality of produce, and the diversity in vendors. I hate to sound cliche, but it is a magical experience for sure. I can't help but smile thinking about it.
Jordan Lee
Nice farmers market. Good variety of fruits and vegetables. Looked like most things there were locally produced so great way to support them. A ton of dogs if you're into dogspotting.
YeJi An
Super fun weekend activity. Street parking was easy to find one street down (and free on Sundays)! There are quite a few vendors, but not as many fruit vendors.
We bought and ate crepes & mini donuts by the entrance where we could sit and eat. I also love that dogs are welcome here!
Nathan Summers
Best farmers market I've been to. 80% of it is all high quality hot food and produce. It's hella large and is the highlight to end my week every Sunday.
Ginger cookies at the bakery booth over in front of the Anchor Cafe are my faves.
Maureen Horgan
Love love love this market!!! And, they let you bring your dog. Great people and dog watching not to mention beautiful produce and great food options. You can dine in at a restaurant or enjoy options at the market.
Jared
Lots of fun!
They close down the whole street with food vendors either selling ingredients or completed snacks.
I went during Halloween so lots of costumes, especially dogs in costume
Brandy T
Best market in Seattle! Open every week, year round. So many vendors. Support your local farmer! Make sure you pick up a Ballard Farmers Market bag to support the farm relief program. You’re gonna pay more than at qfc or Safeway but their produce is not fresh and is covered in canuba wax. Do yourself a favor and support buy local!
pragnesh “z space”
Amazing experience at this Sunday market in Ballard. This market is quintessential Ballard, of for that matter Seattle. Rain or shine one can expect all loyal Vendors to come in with variety of amazing products, produce, creations and food options. It's like a canvas of Seattle that changes with seasons. Very walkable, compact with food, fun,a bit of music once in a while, spread along restaurant row on Historic Ballard Avenue. Oh, and several breweries in the vicinity certainly adds to the experience.
Jason Barney
The most fantastic farmers market in the Northwest! I just enjoy coming here for the street food. And all the amazing organic offerings, local products, and friendly vibes. This place is the heart and soul of the Ballard neighborhood. And I love the fact that it's year round. I'm happy I don't live in Ballard, otherwise I'd spend all my money here.
Veronica Boe
Every fresh vegetable you need, wonderful baked goods, beautiful flowers, too. Love finding new items each week!
Gina Miller
Well organized and sanitary in covid times. Light, fast moving, well respected, line to enter in order to create spacing which people are happily abiding. 2 sides- walking side and driving side for those not leaving their car to drive through shop. Bravo. Well done!
Titan Exodos
A quaint and fun event for the whole family. There was a stand, can't remember the name, but they had delicious breakfast sandwiches which I must implore you to try if you attend!
tetiana danylchenko
I love this year round Sunday farmer's market!!! You can find all kind of fresh veggies, fruit, baked goods and much more here. The atmosphere is sooo fun! Stop by and enjoy!
Jackie Peterson
So much to see, eat, taste, hear, smell, sample, buy, enjoy...and so little time...need a basket and a cart. One of the best Farmers Markets in the Seattle area! Always come back to the best!
David Botros
Everything is amazing!!! I am only shopping here anytime I am in Seattle. Everything is fresh reasonably priced and delicious!
Kate S
Nice farmers market. Produce was cheaper here than at Pike Place. Afterwards I walked to the salmon ladder.
Kathleen Wilson (Kat)
This market is a fabulous time! I spent a few hours exploring the market and local stores along the way. Weather was perfect but I imagine in the rain, the market is still great if not a little less crowded. The fresh produce is outstanding and though a little expensive, its worth coming to have lunch here to support the locals. There is an information booth and every stall has friendly people. Will be coming back.
Lrstyle Laura Romeo
Great food, great people and pup watching, food vendors including home soaps and jewelry. Crowded, long lines, go early or late, open till 2 p.m
Peter Lekhakul
Great place to walk around and enjoy a great atmosphere. Local artisan, food vendors (crepes, pies, Mexican, ramen), organic meats and veggies, wines, ciders, beers, seafood, dairy... Fun for the family. Sadly they close early, 3p.
Chris Gress
Great selection with interesting vendors and good snack options. Wish there were a few more areas to sit around the food vendor section
Peter Reale
Something for everyone here… from Rainier Cherries to GF Bread… even a live Garden Gnome selling pottery.
Michelle B.
This is such a great market for people who have dogs. Very dog friendly. If you have a dog that likes other dogs, you should go to this market. There are lots of great vendors, food and stores that are on the street of this market. There are always lines for the great food to be eaten at this market.
Beth Chaney-Torni
Great year-round farmer's market. Always has some produce, depending on what's in season you'll get some variety through the year. Rain or shine, there will be vendors selling their wares, lots of good food stalls and handmade crafts as well!
Amber Young
I was a vendor here and it is an AMAZING market. There is a huge variety of vendors anything from beautiful flower boquets to fresh baked pastries.
rach c
Love the market! Tons of local produce, baked goods, jewelry, candles, kombucha, ceramics, and other artisan products. Many lunch options too.
Ell
Rain or shine the market goes on. Sunday morning the street was transformed into the cutest market with fresh foods and local products for sale. Food trucks also on site by the bell tower. Ample people walking with dogs and enjoying the day.
Ginnie Joubert
This was BY. FAR. the greatest farmer's market we have ever been too. So much to see, such fresh produce, unique shops, music... it was all incredible! I would absolutely LOVE to come back again. It truly was a great experience and definitely would have bought more if we hadn't had to have flew home!
Nathan Mikesell
Lots of fun! Great spot to bring the dog! Has some good food vendors and fun booths unique to the Ballard neighborhood. Parking is always a challenge, but worth it on nice sunny days!
Ross Graham
Great experience! ... so much to see.
Will Carpenter
Lovely assortment of farms, flower, beers, and snacks. It’s nice to see everyone that’s from the neighborhood too.
Morgan Wallace
Poets and sustainably-harvested King Salmon! You can't go wrong at the Ballard Farmers Market!
Heather A Adams
This is one of the best farmers markets in Seattle. It is so lovely to see everyone out with their families, dogs, friends and all looking for the great thing Seattle has to offer. This market not only has great produce, meat, bread, dairy, eggs but it also has food ready to eat. As if that wasn’t enough you can find a great gifts and beautiful handmade items and wares.
Shawna Isidore
I go there for three places every Sunday.
Crepes made with love, Italian pizza made with flair, and the donuts sold by a cute couple. Highly recommend the market many wonderful spots, but I adore the people at these the booths.
Alrun Burgmeier
We love the Ballard Farmers Market! Lots of variety. You can get fantastic produce, yummy cheeses & food and so much more. Go and explore for yourself 😃 …
Margaret Alfonso
I loved it. We got some mini donuts. ( Delicious ) ! A nice afternoon out. 😊 …
Ruth
Amazing market, excellent vendors. We had a great time.
Miles Bader
Fairly large farmers market, lots delicious and high-quality food / produce / meat / etc, in a pleasant location, but prices can be a bit high.
T Cheng
Lovely farmers market on a great street with small eclectic shops. Both artisanal products and fresh produce. Parking on street few blocks away. If only we were not traveling, would have bought the flower bouquets. Both lovely and affordable. Great fresh naan. What a fun way to spend a few hours.
Michelly Calzadilla
The best farmer's market in Seattle, hands down. There are lots of markets throughout the city (Fremont, Capitol Hill, SLU etc), but all pale in comparison to the Ballard Market. Every Sunday all year there are top tier food and crafts vendors that are friendly, informative, and have wonderful goods for sale. This market is by far the busiest and for good reason, it's simply the best. Some of my favorites are Windy N Ranch (meats), Seattle Pops, and the Mexican Mozzarella. Most of the vendors accept credit cards so don't worry about bringing cash. It stays pretty busy until 3:30ish and most vendors are gone by 4:30 - 5:00.
Brian M Wise
Growing up in Oregon there was always a Saturday Market somewhere in multiple cities with local craftsmen and farm goods. This is the perfect example of that sort of Sunday farmer/craftsman market that remains one of the best in the city. The only problem of late (two years into COVID pandemic is that it's A) super crowded with people and B) not one. Damned. Person. Wears. A. Damned. Mask. In a street market so crowded with people meandering that you cannot walk at a normal pace, that's a major issue.
"But it's outdoors!"
Yeah, sure. It's outdoors. Packed elbow to elbow.
Go early if you can to avoid the crowd and get the good stuff.
Garrett N.
Open year round and a very popular market. Get there early as parking in the surrounding area and traffic can get very hectic as the market goes on. About half of the market these days seems to be goods and prepared foods and the other half is fresh and organic produce from local farmers.
hank tate
A great landmark of Seattle, wether your a visitor or a citizen this is a great place to hang out and support small businesses. The only complaint I have is a lot of things feel overpriced, but it’s understandable because they are small farmers, and it’s better to support them over buying from a large company.
Karl Geiger
Lovely, varied, and eclectic selection of vendors: flowers, produce, mushrooms, meats. Plenty of delicious street foods on offer from freshly-made mini doughnuts to sausages, crêpes, and more. If strollers prefer indoor/sitdown dining, eaters line the streets. Look for Hot Babe Caribbean hot sauce and the wood-fired pizza guys.
Dutch Droid
We love this place, great products, lots of samples
Randy G
Make sure to check out RandyG Tattoo for authentic Japanese traditional tattoos. @randygtattoo
and Little Prague Bakery for authentic Czech pastries. Amazing!
Akin Uslu
A large number of vendors selling local goods and food. Parking came challenging try couple blocks down the market or lake side.
Corey R
Busy market but worth heading to for a really authentic taste of what Ballard has to offer. Great for families and visitors.
Michael Tang
Fresh produce and other products. People are friendly with a great atmosphere.
Kaya Peterson
In my opinion, one of the best farmers markets in the city. There is a solid number of vendors present, and I like that there is a significant presence of produce/meat from farmers. Some markets lean more heavily towards prepared foods and artisan shops (which are great as well!) but I appreciate that this market is well balanced. I wish I remembered the vendors name but I got some blackberry honey here that was some of the best honey I’ve ever had. Would recommend!
Lumen 8 Studio Project
This Farmers market was voted best farmers market in Seattle by Seattle Weekly this year. This is a great place to meet friends, shop for local crafts and produce, and to pet all of the dogs! The staff is super friendly and they know how to create a festive atmosphere!
Andy Pieri
We really enjoyed this. There were so many vendors selling real food and items. Not a bunch of junk. Well worth exploring and experience the local vibe.
Jerod Powell
Amazing farmers market, one of the best, and you can bring your dog!
Aaron Morris
Lack of diversity as far as types of vendors; too many bakeries! Very crowded, so beware if that’s something that bothers you.
Laura Floyd
One of the best Farmer's Markets I've ever visited! I only wished I could have purchased everything, but because I was traveling, I couldn't. The flowers were gorgeous! All the vendors I encountered were very friendly and helpful in sharing details of their wares. Added bonus: You could duck into the shops along the market route! Venue was my favorite! Especially the repurposed cigarette machine that vends little art projects and creations. The owner there was super friendly too!
Soohee Kim
Ballard Farmers Market is getting better and better. Produce and deli, meat and fish are fresh and hand-made, local artisanal goods are really attractive (and useful). Music! Pizza and mini donughts! Should not be missed.
Mark Fitzsimmons
Right in the heart of downtown Ballard, the Sunday Fair has an amazing group of vendors, bringing fresh food, produce and baking...all reasonably priced and super fresh.
Laura Gilbert
Great market with fab produce. All fresh and locally grown/made. Get there early though because it fills up really quickly, and lots of folks aren't wearing masks anymore so if you want to be cautious that is my recommendation. The flower stall at the end of the market is excellent with gorgeous scented flowers. And Last Stand Farm does some of the best chorizo sausages I've ever had!
Eric Jodoin
One of the best farmers markets I have been to. Totally worth your time.
Sue Cox
Amazing Sunday farmers’ market & very relaxed atmosphere.
Eric Perret
Good selection of produce. Really friendly people. Great vendors. Not too crowded. Unfortunately, you can find most of it at the super market for a cheaper price.
Daniella Simon
Great farmer's market. Lots of wonderful options, baked goods, incredible produce, unique sauces, and yummy street food. Always a treat to come here. Great for people-watching and prices are reasonable.
Cali Chesterman
The Ballard Farmer's Market was a great opportunity to learn about local flowers and produce, as well as the general hobbies and local economy of small businesses. We ended up grabbing some honey, candies, and a brick oven pizza, which had us drooling for the rest of the day. Also got some tasty Rainier Cherries 🍒 (this was in summer), multicolored beets, and assorted berries.
Edward Gallagher
Beautiful spring like day at farmers market.
First time here, lots of specialty vendors with terrific products. Plenty of fruit and vegetables to choose from and food vendors galore. Definitely will be going back.
Rita Yegorova
Loved the variety of the produce offered. Most of the stuff is locally grown and produced. I saw local fruit and veggies, meat and seafood, pottery and art. They have a lot of food stands for everyones liking. I enjoyed it more than other farmers markets in the area. The prices are fair too. You will not be disappointed!

First time exploring Ballard area, late 2021. Looks like some areas are still trying to recover post-pandemic but there are bright spots. The farmers market was more produce and food-centric than I expected. Would have liked to have seen a few more maker/artist stalls but walking the block, smelling the great food and seeing the locals interacting with their local food providers is always a plus. Hope it continues to grow. Top tip, don't forget to check out all the brick-and-morter stores in the same area, tons of super cool, niche little retailers, artists and restaurants. Come hungry and snack your way through the market.
Alanna Ho
Always a great place to pick up fresh veggies, meat, dairy and eggs. It's now almost summer and all the fresh veggies are now being sold. Soon we'll see strawberries and cherries! It's now summer time, go and get the best, blueberries, cherries and stone fruit right now!
Hillel Shirman
Best selection and most options of any local farmer's market.
Hillol Debnath
Very lively place to spend your Sunday morning.
Careless Cook
Amazing market, had tons of food places.
Kelly Contreras
Great way to start Sunday morning! Smoked salmon is something I get every week.
Kerala Hise
Always a great visit, easy to stock up for the week.
Sofi T
Great fresh, local produce, fruit, and flowers! Credit card accepted at most vendors (except the mini donuts, bring cash!) Dog friendly. Open until 2 but a lot of stuff sells out early, so go in the morning if you can!
Lynette Loew
Really nice, large, outdoor farmer's market. Bought some herbal teas, sheep cheeses, mushrooms, and huckleberries. Then walked to coffee and a look at the Botanical gardens and river locks (with sea lions and salmon!).
Pete McBride
Excellent market that supports local farmers with prepared food vendors and some craft vendors, but emphasis is on the produce, as (in my opinion) it should be. Collins Family Orchard for apples, and One Leaf for produce are a few that stand out. Also a great deal on fresh cut flowers.
Chris Sanders
Awesome farmers market. Lots of different stands with excellent stuff. We eat lunch at the ramen (Brothers and Co.) stand and swarma truck.
Antonino Schepis
Great market. A lot of produce, bakery and meat. Great food served. I love the fresh pasta from lucchese.
Maria Megill
Vendors with quality products on a sunny day in Seattle.
James Pense
Best farmer's market I've been to. Very dog friendly. Because it is often every Sunday all year long, it has a real local community feel to. Which is nice in such a big city. You could get everything you need there, from dishes, knives, fish, local veggies and fruit, dog food, fresh bread. You would never need to go to the grocery store.
Dom Weldon
Huge farmers market in the center of Ballard.
Catherine Loewe
This farmer's market is open all year, rain or shine - love that! Great selection of super fresh produce, herbs, florals, treats, meals... Variety is ever-changing, which makes it interesting and fun every time. Family and pet friendly; everyone is welcome! Vendors are helpful and friendly, so spend a couple of hours, snag some products and enjoy the experience!
silvio
Plenty of fruit, veggies, etc. Lager than other markets in Seattle.
Kelly Martin
Love talking with the people who run each booth/business. They have a wealth of information and I love walking away having learned something new with each encounter. Nice variety of goods offered. Can't wait for the spring/summer produce to be available!
J L
Great variety of foods and crafts. Great atmosphere. Local stores and restaurants are superb.
Sam
amazing restaurants, food trucks, local stands. eccentric lively atmosphere. I live in the neighborhood and take a stroll every Sunday when the weather is nice
Lauren Hitt
The vibe here is amazing. Live music, great food, cool people. I always start at one end and grab the homemade donut holes (they’re worth the calories- trust me here) and a fresh brewed coffee, browse the local vendors, pick up some local organic produce, and finish on the other end with a large bunch of beautiful flowers.
Fantastic way to spend a Sunday!
Dick Nicholson
This is a good market, which you can tell by its popularity. It's crowded for good reason. Great produce and other products, lots of prepared food, and huge selection of everything. There is also a great vibe to the place, and Ballard is an excellent neighborhood. Worth a visit, and come hungry!
Christina Deierling
Awesome farmers market with a great selection. Check out Firefly Kitchens they’ve got great kraut and kimchi! And Sno Valley mushrooms has awesome mushies!
John Bemis
Very nice farmer’s market. A great selection of vendors with lots of variety. Everything from a butcher shop, fish purveyors, numerous fruit and vegies outlets, several bakeries to the always spectacular flower stalls. Just enough prepared food vendors to tempt the pallet without overwhelming the fresh food vendors.
Charles Douglas III
Really well organized to ensure safety during the pandemic. Staff is really personable and knowledgeable, and the community is cooperative. Booth operators have streamlined payment and offer a good range of produce, meats, baked goods and to-go food. Adjacent restaurants and businesses offer good pre/post market meals/stopping too. Overall a great way to stay connected to community while keeping socially distant and safe.
Leif Arnseth
Great place to get local food and see some fun crafts and novelties. Wide area with plenty of space to walk around
wendy case
One of the best markets! Year around as well.
Amanda Doss
One of the best farmers markets in the city. The variety of goods and vendors is incredible! Get there early, the line starts wrapping around the block around 11am.
T L
This is my fav farmers market in Seattle! Super friendly crowd. Parking could be challenging, but you can usually find some spots a few blocks away.
C OLEARY
Today June 20th the market was fun as usual. The one thing that was a drawback is the lack of vendors. Hopefully soon more vendors will return. There's still plenty to choose from and if you like supporting local businesses the market is a good place to go.
Beth Clark, CVA
Family friendly, food galore, fresh veges, dog spotting, live music and lots to browse even if not buying. Somehow I always end up at Deborah's Homemade Pies though! Fresh farm goods, unique artisan gifts and the Market Staff are truly as nice as they appear. Community oriented, sublime Seattle experiences
Krystal Davis
The best outdoor, year around market on the west coast!
Christopher Pierce
From the mini donuts to the fresh flowers, Sunday at the market is worth every weekend! I can always find a deal on produce, Grandma gets a bouquet, and daughter a trinket at the oddities shop. Fresh organic honey and smoked salmon samples still can't distract us from the European pastries. As with all Farmer's Markets the earlier the better, but I've never come home empty handed, even at 3:00 pm.
momo
This is by far my favorite farmers market in the entire Seattle area. The parking is a bit nuts on Sunday if you get here late. Rain or shine, they have a large amount of vendors from a garlic booth, pasta, meats, pies, mushrooms and everything under the sun. It's also really nice to stop in the shops along the way when I'm here.
Kian Yong Lim
Lots of organic vegetables, meat, and cooked food. Larger than the Queen Anne Farmers Market.
Will Cappon
Great atmosphere. Tons of vendors and tons of people.
Ian Coldwell
Knocking around Ballard market on a Sunday morning, it's what Sanday mornings are for!
Zach Taiji
I love this farmers market! New to the area. I only saw maybe 10% of the whole thing, I’m defiant gonna make this a weekly visit. Got some delicious apples and toffee.
Ashley Rose Hale
My first time visiting the Ballard Farmer's Market. Fun place to walk through, went in January so it was mostly jams, meats, mushrooms, root vegetables, some arts and crafts (e.g. pottery), and of course food vendors, but there was some fresh produce. Oh and great cookies :)
Victor Gonzalez
Cute little farmers market. Very busy and lots of dogs!
Trevre Andrews
A typical farmers market however a lot of fun if you are visiting from another region. I didn’t have any food that wasn’t amazing, people were great, tons of great live music and artists to write you a poem or pint you a picture.
Bill Weber
The best farmers market in Seattle.
April Tingley
Lots of variety: foods, drinks, flowers, clothing, arts and crafts. Photo is of a gorgeous bouquet I purchased.
Cole Croley
Fun place to go. Lots of vendors to pick from.
We usually pick up pies.
Very difficult to find parking, I suggest you go early when it opens.
Emilia Noel Ptak
Thank you Ballard Farmers Market! You have been a lifeline during the pandemic. The incredible effort of farmers, local businesses, staff, and volunteers to maintain an outdoor grocery store where we can safely shop deserves the highest praise!
Thank you for providing a space where we can eat food with the peace of mind that we are supporting the economic, social and environmental well-being of our community and that the true value of food is being upheld.
Farmers, small businesses and organizations like SFMA, QAFM, PPFM and NFMA are unsung heroes who have helped us get through this health pandemic.
Davri Zainoeddin
Great market. Got some delicious salamis, canned tuna, and sampled a tamale and some pizza. Wow! All the spring veg look lovely too
Andy Boyer
one of the best parts of Ballard! Year-round produce and great spot to pick up lunch.
Nathan Wiggin
We have been going to the Ballard Farmers market nearly every week for years. The vendors are great. Very nice and well priced. The market is well payed out and there is generally a large selection.
The only downside is that parking can be difficult to find.
Tyler Lund
Great selection of wares from produce to cheese to ice cream. The food vendors are especially good as well. Sure, hipsters abound and you'll be tripping over strollers any time after 10, but it's a fun morning activity when nice and window shopping is free. The burritos and ice cream are worth a visit on their own.
Laura Musikanski
My favorite farmers market. The association that operates this farmers market is a for profit but they do a really good job of blending farmers, bakers, artisans and musicians. It always feels like a festival. Does not hurt that the neighborhood is uber cool.
Only prob is parking. But that’s a problem that will only get worse so if you find a place: celebrate!
Sofia C
I love this market for the local foods and businesses. Mostly food oriented, there are cultured cashew spreads/dips, organic produce, fermented cabbage, local honey varieties, grass-fed meats, and more. Parking can be hard to find in the surrounding streets but it is worth the drive and walk.
Lynn Anderson
What fun to wander thru all of the vendors.
Lainey
This market has a fun atmosphere going for it. Great street music and a wide variety of produce and goods. Don’t forget to try the $2 mini donuts.
We always enjoy stopping by on Sundays.
BKhim C
Love this place..!!! There are varieties of food options and people are super nice and friendly. Parking might be a problem because it is quite crowded and it took me awhile to find a spot but most of the parking on the street is free.
Manuel J Gomez
It is great to find local farmers markets. I really liked the selection of produce and food vendors available at the farmers market. If I were in town longer I would have certainly bought more fresh produce. It is one of the better farmers markets I have been to. I would recommend checking it out if you are in the area.
Mike Williams
The regular vendors here are great. A great place to find local cheeses, fresh breads, local veggies, awesome pickles, and another place to grab fresh doughnuts. Highly recommended. You'll want to bring cash, even though most vendors have square now to take cards, not all vendors have this option.
John Nazario
Nice place to spend shopping for local produce and crafts. There is also a variety of food spots that will satisfy you during the time spent here.
Jimmy
Many times! Every time can have a different harvest!
Chiemi ChiAmy206
It seems getting bigger every year. This all year around farmers market is food oriented but you will see some other non- food vendors. Variety of street musicians as well. It is really fun. Recommend to all ages.
Kat V.
I love this market! It's great to buy local and really shows you what's in season around the region. I love that they permit food stamps so that people of all incomes have access to fresh food.
Rodney Andrews
Great farmers market in Ballard. Had mini doughnuts that were amazing and some street tacos that were delicious. Several different folks playing live music (jazz sax, cello, etc) up and down the street makes it a great place to hang out and grab some food or fresh produce on a nice day.
Kelly Powers
What's not to love about the Ballard Farmers Market? There's always love music, many places to choose from for good eating, handmade crafts and homegrown food.
If you receive EBT you can double your dollars at the market and get that much more healthy, sustainable, and fresh food options. (I do it and it makes a world of difference)
You can buy staples like flour, grains, fresh pasta, along with finding fresh fruit and veggies. There's even a vendor with frozen fruit for the winter time. Fair prices and a great community, one of the best Farmers markets I've been to.
Melvin S. Ruder
Tourista's perspective:
Ballard's Sunday Farmer's Market is a wonderful place to shop for fresh produce, baked goods, homemade products, and meats. They also have several food stands selling great meals.
What is especially nice is that the market runs down Ballard so you can duck in and out of the great shops, cafes, bars, and boutiques while shopping the farmers market.
I personally love Ballard and if you are visiting Seattle definitely get out of downtown Seattle and visit this very charming area.
Melinda Issakov
Wonderful market consisting of mostly food products. If you want local seasonal produce, this is the place to go! Vibrant and alive community with so much ch to see.
phillip endicott
This is a really great market, it's an uber market! Most Seattle Farmers Markets are managed by a homoginizing conglomerate, they're essentially run as grocery stores. It's great that we have them but they don't involve the neighborhoods like it used to be. For instance, only food, no arts and crafts.
Ballard's Not just farmers, but arts and crafts and lots of eclectic music... you'l see lotions and skin care, handmade dishes and flatware, carnivorous plants, and several stands selling ready to eat foods or made to order. This isn't tourist merchandise.
Also, the location makes it easy to check out one of Seattle's last collection of local shops, boutiques, wild and retro furniture consignment, restaurants and other cool treasures. Almost empty of corporate franchises. Parking can be tricky and plan your visit according to what you want buy... if you're there to browse its fun to just go with flow and sample stuff... don't be shy about taking samples! If you're there to get, among other things, raw goats milk or fresh duck eggs, go early because they sell out and there's currently no mobile app to buy in advance and pick up later.
If there's one market to catch, this is the one. U Dist Farmers Market is second.
Allie Welsh
Ok. Five stars for what it is. A truly wonderful farmers market filled with vendors who are making the world a better place. You can get everything - protein, awesome fruit and veggies, fish, plants. The only thing that sucks is the completely oblivious yuppies walking around in their spotless muck boots and filson gear, getting in your way and not paying any attention to their dog or child. For real, if you can ignore the dummies you will come away with tons of awesome food.
Jane W
Great experience for a first timer at the Ballard Farmers Market. So many different colorful booths and lots of good eats!
Jesse Moore
Nice market with good selection. But beware garlic from Jarvis Farm. The price, which isn’t listed or verbally communicated, is $11 per bulb. ...One bulb is 50 grams. Therefore the price per pound is just shy of $1000! Omfg. Didn’t realize until checking applepay history when we got home.
Sarah Nau
Great farmer's market that's open year-round. It's big and a little more commercial than most, so be prepared to see local farms with fresh eggs next to an artisan making expensive hammered jewelry across the way from a hipster busker selling on-the-spot poems typed up on a vintage typewriter.
Pocket hole
I liked this market. Lots of stuff, great food. Need more booths to offer samples of food items.
Vicki Shapiro
Luckily stumbled into the market, the first in one year!
Vendors were all friendly, beer and cider selections were fun, mushrooms and baked goods were great!
Clint Sieber
Such an awesome place for produce and locally made goods. Its a treasure trove of organic food. But until covid let's up the food vendors are still absent.
Melandra Iam
Ballard Farmees market.. always hard to park, but great variety. Shops surrounding are amazing!
Sean Aryana
One of the best if not the best weekend markets. Variety of good from pickled goods to soap. Lots of flowers which is always a nice, good food options. Gets pretty crowded during the summer.
Todd Nixley
A superb weekly market. Open year round with seasonal and local veggies, locally made foods, sweets, pastries, breads, cheeses, fishes, crafts, and gifts. The vendors are all friendly and helpful.
Mike Ubezzi
A great way to be introduced to local/small businesses not represented by a grocery chain. There is a website that lets you know which vendors will be present on a specific date. Expensive!
Maggie Skinner
What's not to love? Great variety of organic options each week! Wonderful vibe with musicians, street food vendors and artisans. A must see and experience in Ballard on Sundays.
Russ Lacuata
Great atmosphere with plenty of food trucks/vendors. Fresh produce, and locally made products.
Ashlee Jackson
Great sampling of small local food businesses. Not alot of fresh produce in early spring. Save your appetite for the many food vendors
Amanda Bertino
a fun way to spend a sunday morning!
marie nuss
This is an amazing market that goes all year around rain or shine. Great local artisans, food and veggies and of course fresh salmon. Go you will love it❤️👍 …
Diver D
Huge market. Lots of variety of fresh goods and food. Cool neighborhood. Plenty of restaurants to eat after your shopping is done.
Arushee Agrawal
One of the biggest reasons for living in ballard! Several fantastic vendors. Some of my favorites are ayako family farms, samish bay cheese, sno valley mushrooms and wilson fish markets.
Dean Willard
Now part of weekly Sunday routine to talk the dogs, grab a coffee and light breakfast and shop for the missing components of our Sunday dinner. Always much to see and great selection especially during the summer and fall.
Zuzana Bodikova
Great market. I love the atmosphere of the neighborhood on any day, but market days are even more special.
G
Consistently one of the more populated markets, especially since it runs year round. You'll find a decent selection of local produce, but higher on the list of features is an eccentric range of local crafts and foods. Bakeries, breweries (the first one, Propolis, just showed up -- using over 95% WA state ingredients!), as well as food vendors. Make sure to check out some of the tacos.
A lesser showing is the art, which is more or less what you would expect at a Sunday market of this type. Nothing special, but super local -- a very Fremont vibe.
While you're here, stop by Anchored Ship to get a fantastic cappucino and people watch.
Michele Welcome
The best farmers market around AND it runs year round. The variety of items is great.
Jacob Cram
Great place to get produce. Not cheap and parking is always a challenge. Also consistently crowded. Totally worth it though. I like that it's open year round. Also dogs are allowed, which is nice for me.
Benjamin Pimental
Amazing Farmers Market. There is a ton of great food and healthy looking produce. My favorite stand is the Brookfield Farm Honey.
Samantha Gravity
I love it here! It's wonderful. Just what you'd expect of a ritzy farmer's market, and great shops to poke around in in the area. Parking's tough if you want it free, but that's Seattle for you!
Cynthia M
Just go. Get flowers and donuts (they're right next to each other), people watch as you roam aimlessly and sip your coffee. Pet other people's dogs, watch little kids dance in front of the busker's tip jars, have the poem guy write something for you. Then, if you're not from here, remember how awesome it was when you are back home at your own crappy little farmers market. This one is hard to top.
Raphael Puletz
This place is amazing! So cool and artsy with such a wide variety of merchants and goods. They stay open until 3pm on Sunday
Approvedby Craig
I LOVE the Ballard Farmer's Market and give it a 5..... but if they don;t allow the restaurants to keep their street space open, i would give it a 1 *, Dear Ballard Market, Restaurants are really hurting right now, please don't make them take down their in-street dining options during market hours, allow them to participate in the Market along with the awesome market vendors, there is plenty of room along 22nd to Ballard Ave all the way to 20th.. Be a Proud Partner to the struggling restaurants along Ballard Ave, that would be the neighborly thing to do
Trip Edgerton
Good market, parking can be a problem. The name change hasn't altered the grocery shopping experience in any way. Still my go to market.
Raven J.
Wonderful (sun)day out during summer 2020...
Tracy Thai
Get here as close to opening (10am) as possible for the best experience. It gets crowded quickly, especially in the summer. It slows down a little from late Fall until early spring but it's still worth the trip, regardless of the weather.
Vendors are all friendly and have great quality products, but it can be a little pricey.
Lorenzo Castana
I love going to this market every Sunday!!!
Jessica Hatfield
Family friendly farmers market with lots of fruit and veggie options as well as fresh flowers and some unique hot foods! Had a great time here.
Beth Martens
Love this market, lots to see and get
Len Poole
big crowd - lots of local artists and farmers.
Robin Russell
Great vendors, great people, great atmosphere. Shop around for the best prices and make sure you know what you're buying. Not every vendor is organic just because they are at a farmer's market.
Billy B.
Simply beautiful selection of fruits and vegetables. I was taken aback by the sheer size of this little get together. I am duly impressed. 2 thumbs up.
J Linn
Food options are great; the fresh naan is amazing. Lots of produce and meat options from local suppliers. It’s a great way to spend a Sunday.
robert aguirre
There is a complete street dedicated to merchants under tents. Most products are created or brought in from the farms. There are some products that sell out immediately, so it is best to be there by 10:30, in order not to miss out.
Kama Webster
Lots of farm fresh vegetables, fruit and meat. Also fresh flowers, baked goods, cheeses, wood fired pizza, wine and brews. Some beautiful handmade jewelry and pottery plus several sidewalk musicians and entertainers. Very nice market.
Cheryl Altschuler
So many options and fresh fruit and vegetables no artificial junk and friendly people who know what they are doing.
Ric Mayer
In addition to fresh vegetables, fish, pastries, and eggs. The market is a required walk each Sunday, for people-watching, if nothing else. (The music can be quite fun as well.)
Davis Ng
great farmer's market. Lots of delicious food!
SF Connoisseur
Great produce and ambiance.
Michael Kelly

Justine Symons
So much fun to do with the family!! Lots of yummy foods and a variety things to purchase!
Lindsay Higa
It's a great farmers market to walk around on a Saturday morning. I got there early because parking can be a hassle if you get there in the middle of the day. Not only is there great produce but also great people watching. Other goods are sold there too such as crafts, prepared fresh food and craft beer and wine.
Su Mi
Good market they have excellent varieties but unfortunately an American look down on Asian. When I sat on a stool near him in public place this guy got up and says some unpleasant things about Asian.
Kevin Hoover

Russell Hayslip
Love this Farmers Market. Open every weekend year around. Great selection of fresh veggies and meats.
Howard Sewell
Awesome farmers market but can get pretty crowded given the combination of market shoppers and people shopping the various boutiques on Ballard Avenue. Still, a great combination of produce, meats, food products and craft vendors. Great lunch options also. Dog-friendly.
Alexander Goughenour
Love this. Sample everything. So much good stuff. Bring your appetite and enjoy the local vendors. Take home some fresh produce for the week.
nick caudill
Always a blast! Great vendors, lots of restaurants, a constant great experience for new and old visitors!
David Seider
We love this farmer's market! We'll keep coming back. Especially like the place that sells the mushroom growing kits. Fun!
Pete Hulbert
Great market, with mix of fruit, vegetables, meat and condiments as well as prepared foods and jewelry, etc.
It's better to get there before 10:30 (opens at 10), if you can so that you can get a decent parking spot. But there's a fair amount of turnover, so don't worry if you arrive later.
Jon Solomon
It is an institution at this point up there with Pikes. The prices are Whole Food but the produce is fresher and directly support the farmers. Plus you get free samples.
Dave Farmer
Absolutely my favorite market in the Puget Sound region, bonus for being open all year. Excellent location (parking might be hard but it's Seattle) and a never ending selection of excellent vendors. Something for everyone.
Shea Hutchison
A really fun market with all kinds of fresh produce and flowers. Local craft wine, fish, meats and other goods are also available.
Andy Wong
Best Sunday market I've been to in Seattle. Excellent food vendors (check out the burger place), mushrooms and pastries.
colin elliot
Best farmers market in Seattle. Everything you need, and some stuff you didn't know u needed, plus all the regular stores and amazing buskers.
Myo Win
Love this Sunday market. Many many choices and fresh everything.
pandora proxy
Very dazzling array of food, vegetables and craft items.
But everything is so ridiculously overpriced the whole market turns into a taurist novelty instead of an honest sunday market.
Eric Brooks
The best market to find local food and product. Be prepared to pay for the quality.
Leo Lam, Ph.D.
One of the best places to get the freshest of the freshest. We have been to the Ballard Market for years and it's always a pleasant experience. There are many other things to look and see afterwards, too (absolutely try Miro Tea!).
Changkun Lee
You can enjoy an organic & local based products at here
Katherine Happe
Great variety of vendors! Eating your way through the market is a great way to spend a Sunday!
T Lee French
The farmers market was great can't wait to go back. Yes there was a short wait to get in due to covid-19 restrictions but still a GREAT market.

Charles Arias
Very busy and nice shopping. But tall person at information table a hole. I could spot a-holeness from far away. I stay away. He leave. I approach information booth to ask questions. Then tall a hole come back and have rude tone with me and few other people. Can you tell me what you think his problem is? The heat? Bad role models as child? Thanks!
David Hurst

terry ryan
just one of the best Farmers markets we have been to..lovely fresh local produce handled with loving care..thank you Ballard Farmers Market for a wonderful day..visitors from Australia. .
Dan Sundgren
The super long line to get in due to distancing while needed seemed very unorganized and haphazard, biggest issue with the market right now is no food even though in my opinion they could absolutely do food stands AND outside the market the homeless and filth is beyond bad, Ballard has never looked worse.
Angela Ward
Open year 'round and full of amazingness! Delicious food, and had to find items items like raw milk and bones for broth. Always with the visit.
Anzela Niraula
A year-round farmers' market with a huge selection of fresh produce, poultry, meat, baked goods, juices, ciders..... plus musicians and dogs! What else would one want?
François Gauthier
Very nice open market with lots of options for veggies, meats, fish, artisanal cheeses, bread, etc. Parking can be a challenge for the initiated.
Tomorrow's Man
Counter-intuitively pricey for a farmer's market (should any garlic ever be $20/lb?), but the vendors are wonderful and the atmosphere is lovely.
Sirisha M
Great food and stalls
Dustin Venegas
A beautiful farmer's market setup on Ballard's historic drag. Come in summer for the vegetables, and winter for the local prepared food.

I tell everyone visiting Seattle they have to catch this market. Go for breakfast, lunch, kombucha, cider, fresh flowers, handcrafts, fresh meats, produce, oysters, salmon, vegan options, coffee, tea, singers, poets, banjos, violins, fiddles, keyboards. Pretty much everything is hyper local and high quality. Love this place. Open year around, every Sunday. We live down the street.
Kevin Guy Campbell
Great organic produce, meats and some arts and craft goods.
Alex S
Fun to look around but some of the prices a bit over the top and seem to be designed to take advantage of the naive but affluent ...
Derek Eliasen
Wide variety of good food, great for breakfast or lunch.
Gili Ezra
Really good market, interesting seasonal produce from meat to fish to cider and of course fruit and veggies. Highly recommend.
Federico Hernández
A must in Ballard. Great variety of local products. I really recommend.
Andrew Galteland
Great atmosphere! Lots of food trucks to pick up some lunch
Chris Derecola
A Seattle institution, as far as I'm concerned. They do a decent job of keeping interesting things on hand in colder months, but this place really shines April to October. On sunny days, we'll walk around to pass the time because the atmosphere is pleasant.
Brady Elson
The most impressive farmers market I have been to in Seattle. Lots of stalls including produce, meats, fish, etc.
Chana
Cute busy farmers market. It's nice that they have this open year round! Take cash and cards.
Creighton Watley
I want to give this place 5 stars but it's just a little on the wrong side of attraction vs. market. Buying things from the stalls doesn't feel like buying your groceries, it's more like buying souvenirs. Nevertheless, it's a great attraction. The variety of stands and the street performers make this a great walkthrough.
Elizabeth Parker
ABSOLUTELY fabulous farmer's market. It has it All. Crafts, produce, meat and eggs, unusual food products like fiddleheads and ancient grains, Meat, kombucha. Then great food vendors ranging from hot dogs to Indian food. The neighborhood is amazing as well. Take the bus to avoid parking issues.
Brenda Foster

Jaime Jackson
Lots of cute dogs today. Still a bit early for some veggies but still fun
Ebeth E
So many choices! It is a bit spendy but lots of fun.
Daniel Guillen
Lots of great stands for great quality products ranging from hand made cosmetics to fresh produce. Great afternoon activity for the whole family.

Sondra Fireling
We go as often as we can to get fresh veggies and some breakfast. It's a lovely little Sunday tradition.
K Roth
Pretty large farmers market with a wide variety of vendors. Live music was spread out down the blocks which added to the lively atmosphere. There are also lots of fun shops and restaurants on both sides of the street, its easy to pop into the stores and back out to the market for a fun mix of food and goods. There were less organics than I would like, but definitely a wide variety and Beautiful flower booths! Everything from from meat, cheese, jams and toffee was available.

Leslie LaFayette
Best year-round market outside of Pike Place in Seattle with the quirkiness of Ballard.
ka mcvolks
Crowded AF in the sun, for good reason. But the winter is a great time to go too--still lots of vendors, street performers, and people watching opportunities. But a little easier to walk through.
Don't miss the fresh cinnamon mini donuts!
Beau Johnson
In recent years, it's really grown from one back street to touching Market St and there's a reason - everything is offered here. Fruit, veggies, meats, candies, clothing, art, jewelry - and it keeps growing.
I always get a dozen of mini donuts at the donuts booth near Cafe Umbria.
Kevin Canini
Very crowded in August. Great live music when we were there.
Sonia Lyris
Best of breed! If farmer's markets are your thing, this is your market. Bring spare change for the buskers. And a good hat.
Marissa Marcelo
One of my favorites since they close down the street where all the shops are! You can shop shop and market shop
Carlos Rojas
One of the best Farmer's Markets in Seattle, and a great area to visit

Radhika Lakshmanan
Great selection of vendors at this market. Check out stokesbury for their jumbo jumbo sized eggs!
Kareem Ali
nice, but there's a long line to get in. Unless there's something you can only find there, it's probably not worth waiting in the line.
Marykay Raj
Awesome fresh market!
lya k
Awesome place to go for a stroll on a Sunday morning. Overpriced, but the whole experience - samples, produce, music etc is simply great.

Very epic and cool
Brenda Eve Ladin
One of the best farmers markets in the Seattle area with food offerings, entertaiment, and organic produce.
K U
Great atmosphere and good people. I like how they all sell eco friendly biodegradable cups. The crepe stand had an option where you can use metal forks and you would have to give it back. You are walking around anyway and it’s not a big hassle. Very mindful of their waste. Ballard is such a quaint and beautiful place and this market really is a pleasure to walk around in.
Maggie Stone
A groovy farmers market to visit on sundays.
Johnny Salzano
Great vintage jazz duo. Clarinet & Guitar

Jeremy Leishman
Fun place to go check out the local fruit and vegetable offerings as well as all types of people to watch.
P Seaborn
Good size with a wide variety. Pricing is all over the place. For example, asparagus prices ranged from $3-12 for the same quantity so plan on walking around a bit to find the right price. If traveling with a toddler opt for a smaller stroller instead of a jogger because this place it crowded.
Dorothy Lora Massey
Such a fun market, with a great variety of wastes and support friendly people, plus live music!
Frank Murphy
Always great. More and more vendors. Set up is good, everybody wearing masks.
Lauren Gentles

Walli Kay Osborn
Crowded, but if you go later, like 1:00 when there's a Seahawks game, it's not too bad.
Nick O
Great selection and quality of vendors!
Yana Berkovich
Great fun market, a bit overpriced and no place to sit in the streets and eat the wonderful delicious food

Skip breakfast before coming here and get a bunch of snacks as you walk around.

Best neighborhood farmers market in Seattle! I can always count on it running every Sunday throughout the year, rain or shine! There's always a good assortment of fresh produce and delicious food trucks/stalls. My husband and I like to go around brunch/lunch time to try them out! We love Tandoozy, the stall with the fresh mini donuts, and the yogurt from Ellenos.
Melanie Brown
Hands down best farmer's market in Seattle. Open year round on Sundays from 10am-3pm.
