Reviews of Quarter Grocery & Deli
Andrea
Best place for drunk munchies, the deli in the rear of the store is a gem. We got two 12 inch New Orleans Roast Beef sandwiches, so good. Also got some of the little crawfish pies, super cheap, buy a couple.
Michael Barton
Quarter Grocer has all the basics you need to get you through an attack of hunger. There are lots of basics you'd find at any given convenience store, plus a weirdly sizeable selection of spirits. Prices are pretty normal. I didn't see anything that was obviously marked up because of the location. It's a pretty compact store so expect to need to shift around people if you're sharing the aisle.
NONART Productions
Surprise Surprise.. this place is a hidden gem. It's a convenience store with a kitchen in the back. The staff is great.. super friendly and professional.
Mike, at the register, is a absolute delight. He always has a smile and always makes me glad I stopped in.
Key, in the kitchen, is an amazing chef. He's always been awesome, friendly and makes me feel welcomed and appreciated.
The two of them create such an atmosphere of personalized experience.. wonderful people indeed.
I've tried much of the menu at this point as I frequent this store about 3 times a week or so.
The food is simply delicious. No matter what I order. It's always fresh, never greasy and the portions are quite generous.
Prices are reasonable, especially considering its location and the store is always very clean.
Color me impressed

It’s truly a local gem with the best poboys & fries you can find in NOLA! Their menu has a variety of options
Edward Leyland
Greetings from the 305. The Quarter market and deli is the bomb..The Owner and staff are super nice and most accommodating. The gumbo is so good it will make your toes lock up!! Red beans snd rice… off the chain goodness with every bite. With that said I cant even begin to tell you about the po-boys.
Delicioso!
Rafael Santa-Maria
Did not disappoint, I got the shrimp Po-Boy.
Order took longer than what people waiting claimed.
num1lsufan
Great neighborhood grocery and deli, small but have some interesting things and great prices. This was my go to place while working in the French Quarter. French bread is super fresh, light, crusty and soft in the inside. Really worth it if you are walking around this neighborhood everyone!
Michael Bossetta
It’s very hard these days to get a reasonably priced po-boy in the French Quarter, but Quarter Grocery’s got ‘em! The hot sausage and fried shrimp are good options, and the crawfish pies are pretty good too. From a grocery perspective, lots of beers, wine, and liquor to choose from, as well as things like eggs, milk, etc. Check it out!
Julia Lange
The po boys from here are to die for. Get half shrimp half catfish, doritos, and a tall boy, and walk to Louie Armstong Park 3 blocks away for a picnic on a sunny day. You won't regret it!
Chelsea D
The restaurant in this place is a gem! You would never know that such delicious hot beef sandwiches would come out of this tiny store! I highly recommend getting one.
nalan inanna
ran into this shop walking by tennessee williams’s house. it’s probably a gem known among the locals because they’ve amazing sandwiches! i got new orleans roast beef since it was still in the morning; otherwise i’d get shrimp or catfish fries. but still the sandwich was so good and cost only $6ish.
Michael Vaughan
As a local, I’ve held off reviewing this place, because I like the convenience and quickness. As much as I want them to make all the money, I also like having a “secret” spot of my own. Well, the time has come to share the love, because they just keep getting better and better. Todays ham and turkey po’boy was unlike any of the previous ones I’ve had, which all have been quite delicious, so no complaints.
So the secrets out. Their deli is the best in the FQ. YES, I said what I said.
No photos, because it was gone TOO fast.
David Seltzer
I live nearby and thought it was time I tried a Po’Boy from a neighborhood store. You will find many small mom and pop stores in NOLA have great food. Quarter Grocery was no exception. Had a huge shrimp po’boy that was probably the best one I have ever had. Tons of shrimp and very flavorful. Grab one and walk a few blocks to enjoy it in Armstrong Park. Paired nicely with an Urban South Holy Roller Grapefruit. 😋
Rickie L Jones
Locals think this is the best red beans and rice in town. Take out only.
Christopher Davis
A true historic gem of everything that the French Quarter once represented.
Great food! Great Bargains! FABULOUS LOCAL FAMILY proprietors & NOT A CORPORATE takeover.
From grocery items to Deli foods, sandwiches, spirits, smokes & friendly service, IT'S THE PLACE TO GO IN THE QUARTER!!
Joseph Henahan
Unbelievable food at very low prices. Some of the best chicken and sausage gumbo I ever ate. The red beans and rice is also wonderful. Only in New Orleans can you get quality food like this for around $5 per dish.
RM LeRoux
The gumbo, fried shrimp poboy, fries and crawfish pie were all some of the best food we have had here in New Orleans.
Nate
Good food, huge portions really good price for the money
Carolyn Wilder
This is the BEST place in New Orleans! Although this is a great convenient grocery store, the food in the back deli is truly a hidden gem. Hands down, the best shrimp po boy, gumbo, red beans and rice. This food is sooo good. When I come to New Orleans, this is the first place that I want to go. I want to come here before I go to any fancy restaurant just to try their delicious food. STOP BY…. you won’t regret it!!!!
brandon thorn
I LOVE THIS HIDDEN GEM. Easily one of my favorite places for good fried seafood and the best damn red beans and rice in the quarter. Inexpensive. Go. Spend $20 and feed your family of 4.
Ada Caceres
Another hidden gem. Best red beans & rice in New Orleans. Every time I go I get some to go for the week. They also have delicious po-boys and salads are enough for 2 people. I definitely recommend it.
Douglas Anderson
Really good deli/kitchen/carry-out. Gumbo is rockin' french fries hot, fresh. Affordable neighborhood bodega. Tight quarters, I mask up, many don't.
scott greene
The sandwiches we got were fantastic!!! Chicken sandwich and a roast beef. Service was great! We went there 3 days in a row to get snacks and booze.
Arlene Kole
We stayed at the Best Western Plus on Rampart Street and the Quarter Grocery was a few blocks away. It was a great source for water, beer, wine and food. They have their little kitchen at the back of the grocery store that sends out delicious food.
We loved the muffuletta!!! So amazing!!! We ordered the half that was huge. We had hoped to try a po-boy as everyone said theirs were amazing...next time!
If you are staying near Armstrong Park make sure to check out the Quarter Grocery.
Michael Dane
PoBoys, snacks, dog/cat food, toiletries, cold drinks, etc. and really great employees make this one of the Quarters best spots for a solid meal and some supplies on the fly.
Katie Lightcap
This tiny, hidden Bodega is a must for smart tourists in the French quarter. It's the least expensive way to stay stocked on snacks and drinks and there's a small grill/fryer in the back.
Jimmy Kline
Shrimp po'boy, red beans and rice, and gumbo were all great! Good value as you will not be paying for the frills.
LANCE GOMEZ
I had a 12 inch ham and cheese po boy and it was amazing 5 stars all day great service very fast I definitely recommend everyone trying this place if your in the area.
Joey J
Fantastic catfish poboy!!! Dinner for 2.
Mark Collingwood
Best gumbo in town, you can walk past this place and not realize the cafe is inside
Robert whitman
Awesome place!! Just moved here. You can get anything from liquor to laundry detergent to great snacks for the kids all amazingly priced and not extorted for the location. Ms.kims deli in the back is delicious and $8.00 for a PO boy you won’t find that anywhere else in the quarter or even on Elysian Fields or mid city, Plus they are absolutely delicious and can be split. Also you can call ahead so you’re not waiting around! Try them you won’t be disappointed.
Alan Claghorn
More than meets the eye! Pick up a fresh made meal (the club sandwich is my favorite) from the back and be surprised by the selection of groceries, wine and beer offered. Very convenient and excellent, efficient curation of supplies for such a small space.
A Plicqu
A perfect corner grocery off the beaten path.
If you need a quick po boy or lunch plate you can get it here. Food is good, stick to your ribs stuff.
Nothing fancy, but what you need after a busy day or evening out and about.
Alex Ojeda
Average New Orleans Convenience store, now, why the 5 star rating ?
Them PO-BOYS, really good, some of the best I have ever had.
Better than any other tourist trap fancy restaurant in the FQ.
Worth making one stop here to try one, Deli in the back, orders placed there.
Also convenient location for other goods if you happen to be staying in that side of the French Quarter.
Jenn O'Quinn
Hidden gem of a market. Convenient market, fresh cooked food. The small shrimp poboy is huge, big enough to fill up a guy. Employees are all smiling, ready to help, and treat customers like family.
Elias
This Deli is by far the best place to eat in the quarter!!!
Camille Dudney
This is an unexpected delight! Go to the deli inside and grab yourself the best shrimp po boy I've ever had. The shrimp was fresh, perfectly fried and the service was super friendly. It cost about $8 and isn't far from the party area.
Jacob Henry
After a few days of over priced food and drinking NOLA tap water, you’ll be glad you went to this little store to get some reasonably priced food and a gallon of water.
jon c
Great little market with really good food! I highly recommend the gumbo, also they have beer, wine and liquor. Owners and staff are super nice!!!
Jessica Pierce
You barely notice this place, but I enjoyed it.
It's just a small shop, but whatever you need I'm sure they will have.
And get some cheese fries from the deli in the back, they are absolutely killer.
Also the staff her was very kind. He made a connection and conversation with everyone.
Casey Toner
$5 bowl of red beans and rice was way better than any fancy restaurant food I ate on my last trip to NOLA. This place rocks
Asmara G
just went there this week to get chicken wings and a po boy as suggested by our hotel's front desk. The food was actually very good!
The two guys working in the back are from bali and we actually had a great talk with one of them! He gave us some nice advises on how to make gumbo and etouffé and we will sure try it at home like he told us.
Victoria Evans
Y'all. The po' boys and crawfish pies are SO good and fresh here! Decent selection of groceries and beer too. Not super late night, go before 9pm to get deli food. Great location.
King William
I stumbled into this hidden gem of a store quite a few times during my visit to NOLA. I needed beer and they supplied. Best damn club sandwich I'll never remember. They even have stuff you don't know you need.
kara kokser
Best deli in the French Quarter. Great for fried chicken, poboys and sandwiches. If you are staying in the area they have all your needs including alcohol to save some money.
Julia Grant
Best Muffuletta and Po Boys!!!!!
Absolutely!
Mike Elmasry
I came here specifically for the Muffuletta sandwich everyone had told me about. To be honest, I was a bit underwhelmed. The sandwich was really good but the way it was described made it sound like it was going to be an out of this world experience. It's something that I could have made at home if I can find the right bread at my local bakery. I will probably be making one myself soon and I bet I can make it as good or better.
The store itself has tons of deli meats which I would have loved but I was so focused on getting the Muffuletta that I didn't try anything else.
Trish
This little grocery store in NoLa was super convenient. The prices were acceptable, which was a pleasant surprise considering the lack of competition near the French Quarter.
They also had some fresh bread and a wide variety of snack food.
If you are in the Quarter and need groceries - this place does the job.
Ella Xu
Dang they have GREAT gumbo for a good price! They also have many other things that you might need (excluding fresh grocery items). But nice people and good food!
Tiffany Moore-Jackson
Ok, we came here the most during our trip for Po Boys. The Shrimp is delicious, the ham was tasty & turkey was good. The egg rolls are tasty & friendly service & patrons.
Matthew Spector
Don't judge a book by its cover. Place doesn't look like much on the outside, but has some delicious po-boys on the inside! They are quite large, delicious, and not too pricey. Easily can split one with 2 people.
Arthur g.
Well, after spending almost $30 or more everyday... And the go into the store today and asked for 3 cigars and "the limit" was 2 cigars (game). That was complete silliness.. I guess i could go other places because im sure my money spends everywhere....
Kennith Jackson
One stop shopping! Owners was nice! The beer cold and very cheap for the Quarter. Catfish po boy was awesome and extremely large! Would get one with a Miller on the walk to Bourbon.
Brent Baer
Great food and great prices. Very friendly staff all the time. Love this place 💖 …
Martha Kreeger
Best po boys for the money in the quarter - loved the catfish po boy. Hubby loved the shrimp po boy. This is a take out deli, lots of locals and workers come and order to go items like po - boys, sandwiches, burgers etc. It's really good, quick and no fuss no muss, low cost. Well worth it, especially if keeping costs down in the quarter. We took ours on a picnic to Louis Armstrong Park
Vam Monaco
I don't know if I was just a lucky winner, but I bought some ibuprofen from this store and the clerk gave me a free bottle of water. He said "Go grab one of of the cooler, it's on me" OK... Thanks!
Kevin Schwass
Grilled chicken Po-boy as good as you're going to get anywhere in New Orleans. Bun was super-fresh, plenty of perfectly cooked chicken breast and filling. One Po-boy big enough for two.
Ronnie T.
I got my first ever shrimp Po-Boy from there and it did not disappoint. Don’t let the fact that it’s not a big place steer you away, it’s worth it! $10 and I was full!
Jeffrey Harmening
Not a bad place to grab a po boy. Cheeseburger was my favorite. Clerk was a bit offensive but consider the town your in. A local told us it was the soul of New Orleans food...hope not.
Casey Miller
Awesome little convenience store with a good to-go hot deli menu. Prices are ok for the French Quarter. Good selection of items from booze to snacks to cold drinks.
