When I lived in New Orleans, this was my very favorite grocery store. Small but packed with great stuff that you can’t find in other places. When I go back to Nola to visit, I always shop there. BEST ITALIAN SAUSAGE ANYWHERE!!

Langensteins's, The ONLY place you can buy super fresh Red Snapper and Speckled Trout. UNREAL, I've looked seached all over Jeff and Orleans for fresh Snapper/Trout, only Langesteins has both, daily, WOWWW, Thanks!!!!!!!!

This is a tiny store. I felt like I was always in the way of someone. The produce section is small, tucked away, and easy to overlook. Not many non-dairy options, which is a consequence of the store size. The premade food is decent.

Go for yourself. Better than the big boys, if you really appreciate attention to detail and customer service. If you looking for .99 cent and a pick 5. They are not for you...... quality over quantity and customer service. How come no one else though of that. One last thing,. If you are no accustomed to cooking you will hate it,. No hamburger helper and I didn't see frozen tv dinners lol

Have always liked Langensteins! Very accommodating to customers and with positive attitudes all around. I have to admit that I go there almost everyday. Good deli meats and all meats in general. They have started carrying organic chicken and I appreciate that they are getting up to date on many ways. Deli section carries most Boar’s Head products. Not gourmet but close enough for my taste.

I don't know what I was expecting, it's a tiny neighborhood grocery. Overpriced and small selection. Good for last minute shopping, but not to do your weekly shopping trip.

This place is old fashioned, doesn't feel like this store stepped into the digital age yet. The inside is quite crowded. It should be a museum for how people use to shop. That's what 4 stars are for, although one thing concerns me about this business... The fact they have prisoners cook food from across the street in a warehouse that nearly resembles a sweat shop. Food is carted in the back, and served to customers. 🤔

I am so in love with this neighborhood gem. For a small Mom & Pop grocery store, I find their prices to be reasonable. Their grocery selection is fabulous for such a small store & their meat is high-quality. I can always find a parking spot in their small lot & the employees are golden. Love love love Langenstein's!

When you are looking for special meats (prime rib. Veal etc,) this is the place to go. Always the best quality. We luv this place for items like that. Small but people are so nice.

A small wonderful local Uptown and Old Metairie grocery store with a great selection of premium meats and fresh seafood, prepared or cook it yourself at home sides, appetizers, and lots of other goodies. Try the crawfish pies and the better cheddar cheese!

Actually pretty good prices on produce. Yellow squash was $1.39 a pound which is a good price in November. Sweet potatoes as .79 cents a pound is best price in town. Red onions at $1.39 not bad either.

Right up there with Galatoire's and Antoine's among New Orleans food purveyors! I have shopped uptown since the 60s and can't wait for the River Ridge location - which is right near my house. In that little bitty site, they conjure up great meals to just take home and heat. (That's my favorite feature.) Really interesting food in frozen, canned, or other. I wandered over to Whole Foods for a short while, but for most real NOLA eating, it was boring. They do make mistakes occasionally, but if you are a regular customer, as I have been forever, you will see that it is just great!

For such a small store, they use the most of its space. I was very surprised by the variety of brands and items they were able to fit on the shelf. Meat, fresh produce, dairy, prepared food.. its any and everything you could need in a grocery store. A tad more expensive than a walmart or the like, but when there isnt many choices, or you just want to shop local, you cant beat Langensteins.

(Translation) 4 stars because of the prices (perhaps that of Métairie is cheaper...) But 4 stars all the same because the quality is often there! Even if organic/organic doesn't seem to be a priority, that's where I find the best value for money in town for tomatoes and avocados! And that's not so bad... (Original) 4 étoiles à cause des prix (peut être que celui de Métairie est moins cher...) Mais 4 étoiles tout de même car la qualité est souvent au rendez vous! Même si le organic/biologique ne semble pas une priorité, c'est là que je trouve en ville le meilleur rapport qualité prix pour les tomates et les avocats! Et c'est déjà pas si mal...
