This is my “go to” neighborhood market. They have a great selection of wine, spices, and stock items. But, most importantly, they have a deli with prepared items that tend to be really good- the shrimp salad is one of my favorites. Yum.

We’ve walked to this market nearly every day for two years. The excellent hot food bar, cheese selection, dessert and groceries are all that much more enjoyable to shop because of the friendly, funny staff. Tucked in one of the most beautiful areas in the city, we love this place!

The meat pies are great for a quick fix. This store actually has a decent selection of items for the size. The staff are always friendly and courteous. Enjoy going inside and always seeing someone I know. Prices are reasonable but when you factor in the friendly people and the size of the store, it's much better than going to Winn Dixie where service is horrible.

This is my first time shopping here since early February.The last time a man greeted me and said I had to leave my backpack. I explained my computer was in it and ,I wouldn't...rudely told me he was security and that was the rule. I was shocked. I was a regular and never had a problem. I told him NO and I would never shop here again. All that to say I would have given them a 5 otherwise. With the heat and the virus...they open at 7 so I made a stop.

This is my neighborhood grocery, and I love it! It's small, but has just about everything you'd need for regular groceries. The cashiers and staff are kind and helpful, the store is clean, and there's rarely much of a line.

Was there today doing some shopping now that I have power and can finally do some cooking!! Was shocked at the high prices for bread.$ 6.19. For a loaf of wheat bread is just ridiculous. Yall are price gouging. Taking advantage of the crisis that Nola has suffered🤔. And I couldn't believe for a spray bottle of Lysol disinfectant was $10.00 Yall ought to be ashamed of yourselves🤬 Very disgusted!!

Service in evenings is pretty bad. Many folks working the registers, especially the younger ones won't even greet you, tell you your total, etc. Have one of everything. You can get most everything you need including a good beer and liquor section.

Expensive but cozy, groovy atmosphere. It's where the old Whole Foods used to occupy not far from NOMA. Always fresh refrigerated/frozen/prepared food. If you're in the area and need groceries without a tight budget them please visit and get whatcha need.

This place was small but enough for our needs. We were able to buy some basic necessities for a week long stay without breaking the bank. If you live nearby though, it will probably cost less to buy things somewhere else. The markup is noticeable.

I love Canseco's! They bring so much to the neighborhood in terms of being able to grab pantry necessities, prepared foods, dairy, meat, vegetables, beer and wine, with ease. Much quicker than going to a huge store if you aren't looking for specific ingredients.

I thoroughly enjoyed my shopping experience, however a parking lot or somewhere aside from street parking would have been nice however; I realize that this is a neighborhood grocery store and so a Sam's Club sized parking shouldn't be expected..

Really great local selection. Friendly staff. They have prepared foods not just gummo and stuff but mac and cheese and Chinese dishes Sushi and it just started Ramen soups. Great selection of wines. And liquor is cheap. Lots of fresh vegetables. It's good to have this Market in Mid-City.

Stopped by before 7am to see if they were open. Man pokes his head out, says they're opening at 7. I ask: where can one get a cup of coffee around here? He says, Oh, I get you a cup of coffee! Walks away and brings me one, freshly brewed, and... won't accept money. 💥Thank you! -- Have since gone back to shop: this market is CLEAN without smelling like bleach, and the selection is excellent. Even includes FRESH produce. Five stars.

Miss this place! No other gro. Store like this. The heart of the store is the people shopping and working there. I have worked 5 different big group. Chains. Lived in 4 states and Mr. Canseco needs to know the store is missed so much by me. I tell all my friends and family here in Alabama about this neighborhood store that is so nice to shop in and better to work at. You have the neighborhood, the friends and neighbors shopping and then you have workers who gets to really know the locals and you feel at home. Miss you all!!!!

Good express small grocery market with items like household products, fresh produce, baked goods, fish, meat, hot and cold prepared foods, beer, wine and liquor. They also have sushi made with white and brown rice varieties. Some of the hot breakfast options are grits, eggs with cheese, sausage biscuits, and the like. They usually serve two varieties of Community brand coffee, all day everyday.

Real nice staff, they get the donuts for the bakery from Maple Street Patisserie, which IMO is the best donuts in Orleans Parish. But the Patisserie always sells out by 10 am whereas Canceco's has them all day.
