Reviews of Adams Street Grocery & Deli (UpTown)

I tried this place based on recommendations from friends. Good deli.. They have the good bread! Too many place in New Orleans serve po-boys on rubbery bread. This place has real French Bread! All I got this time was a hot sausage po-boy, but I will be back to try some of the others.

Great poboys at great prices and a good selection of snacks and drinks. The staff are all super curteous and friendly and they give the place such a good vibe! If ypu swing by definitely try out there hot roast beef po boy fully dressed, best covenience store po boy youll find in the city!

Adams is one of those jewel hole-in-the-wall spots that needs to stay hidden from tourist.
The food via the deli is nothing short of exceptional. The po-boys, chicken sandwich, and crawfish pies are all those after-work and weekend delights.
The staff in the deli, though very busy, are engaging and attentive.
I do recommend Adams and will return, as frequented.

A no frills neighborhood store for the essentials. Great food at a damned good price. Dong Phuong french bread and brioche buns! Lately my go to has been the grilled chicken cordon bleu on brioche, but all their sandwiches are great. Don't forget to tip the cooks! They're working hard back there.

Dong Phuong King Cakes. My buddy has 'em once again (except on Tues & Sun) for Mardi Gras season.
They Sell Fast!
Opens:

You'll see small lines for cakes before opening.
The po-boys are definitely worth the eats, also.

We had the poboys, they were amazing. Huge portions and super reasonable prices.

This unassuming gem on the corner of Adams and Plum is New Orleans soul at its core definition.
From the locals gathered outside, to the workers with impeccable customer service this place is it, full stop.
It’s the type of corner grocery store that becomes part of your weekly routine… it’s untarnished by the onslaught and obligations of tourism that often plague small business’ here in this city.
Locals know why it’s much loved. The prices and the quality of their food (best bang for your poboy buck), along with their customer service make this place a New Orleans institution.

This is my favorite lunch spot in all of New Orleans
In Los Angeles , delis are places to get cheap greasy burgers. I didn't expect much beyond that here. I ordered a chicken sandwich and expected a cheap boring thing. Instead, it was delicious. It didn't just taste like a heart attack , it had actual flavor.
The poboys are great as well, I personally like a dressed fried shrimp with extra mayo and onions.
GO HERE! It is worth all types of detours.

Hidden Gem.
Richard and the team are amazing business owners and fantastic people.

Great food! The poboys are fantastic and everything is cooked fresh to order. Thick cut onion rings and shoestring fries were not disappointing. I was a bit disappointed to see employees without face masks and nothing marking off safe (6 ft) distances for customers to line-up.
