Reviews of United Noodles
Miku Fan USA
Have you ever traveled to Japan, or China, or Korea, or Vietnam, or Indonesia? Well, I have many times. If you have traveled to Asia, I am sure you're like me - always craving a certain food that you had over there and which you have simply given up trying to find here in Minnesota.
Well, my buddy said, "oh, you should check out United Noodles". "what?" says me? Never heard of it. Well......... Now I am their biggest fan! I traveled up Hiawatha and followed Google Maps to UN. At least I thought I did - it's in kind of a warehouse kind of place - parking is along the side of another warehouse. If you see the new "Coastal Seafood" location, turn into the alley in between the two warehouses. OR, follow all the Asian descent people (and crazy Caucasian people like me)! The place was a veritable zoo on the day I went there - crowded with people.
This is a warehouse filled with Asian foods, spices, cooking oils, candies, frozen foods, drinks, noodles (dah, the name), meats, produce (I took a photo of true Japanese daikon!!!!) and even cooking pots, pans, dishes and Asian toys! Truly overwhelming on the first time I went to UN. Plan to spend an hour or more just walking through the enormous warehouse-type building.
I wandered through the place, marveling at the number of authentic Japanese and Korean foods that I saw on the shelves. Unbelievable, really.
I have traveled to Japan for 125 days between 2017 - 2019. I fell in love with the foods and the culture of Japan. Now that I "discovered" UN, I can taste my "omoide" of my travels through Japan. Oh, and what food was I specifically never found in MN until United Noodles? Authentic Japanese "natto" (fermented soybeans all gooey and smelly), authentic soba noodles, and Japanese Mayonaise. Oh, and real Korean kimchi. I found all of them at UN!
I have now shopped many times at UN. If you miss your time in Asia, or you're of Asian descent and miss the foods of your childhood, get to UN. Seriously. Prices were a bit higher, but these are unique foods that are mostly unavailable in any other shopping store in MN. So unique!
5 star baby. Hontouni sugoi deshita! Aishite imasu, United Noodles!

Love love love this place. Went in for Ramen supplies and left with so much more. There is so much variety and quality product here. I've been looking for a loose green tea and found two to try from this store. So excited. So far so good. Thank you🍵🍃🍜😋 …

If you are far away from Asia and you miss all about asian ... United noodles is the answer. You can found everything about Asian food , spices , ingredients , medicine and equipment in here .
Place are bigger and variety are best . Good parking slot , just a little bit far from downtown
Nicole Steinert
Great place to find Asian food items but it’s a bit pricey.
Sarah King
My sister-in-law is Japanese, and every time she comes to visit we go here so she can get what she needs to make a meal for the family. It's (sadly) one of the only places in the greater twin cities where you can get everything you need to make incredible homemade Asian food. It's has a large selection of all of the essential things you need. Plus, it has some of the best ramen takeout in the cities.
Isabella Shelton
Good selection of items, lots of unique foods. Shelves were stocked and organized well. Aisles were very cramped though, I had to keep constantly moving my cart over so people could pass by.
Meats/rice here is really expensive, almost 3x the price. Rest of items were mid priced I'd say.
My items weren't really bagged with much care. So I'd probably bring reusable next time.
Will probably come here again based on the selection alone.
Mike Huber
Lots of different produce, most of which I have heard of somewhere but never tasted. And some I've never heard of. And some I've heard of, but not as food. I'm an old guy whose been trying new things for a long time, so that's kind of amazing.
Good stuff.
Fresh vegetables. Mushrooms, fresh and dried. Meat. Seafood. Noodles. Lots of noodles. Lots of different cooking oils. Aisles of sauces. Lots of different snack foods.
Nice bowls and plates to serve all of the above on.
Before covid, they served a delicious ramen. I'm not sure whether that's available again and I just wasn't there at the right time.
Erin Mulcahey
Good variety of items. They have produce, meat, refrigerated, freezer, and regular grocery sections. They also have candy, tea, sweets, and other sections. They just moved all of their cook ware and eating wares to one big area to make it easier to see all they have. Normally fast checkout. Nice staff.
Autumn May
Would really love to see them expand their tiny produce section so i can get everything there instead of making another stop; pantry goods selection is excellent but produce is majorly lacking. Would've loved to have bought a banh mi if the little sandwich station had been open but staff was busy elsewhere.
Rachel Lucker
Best Asian supermarket in the Twin Cities. Fresh produce, bakery goods, and meat. Great for my family to stock up on hard to find Indonesian goods. Something for everyone here!
Lauren Lathrop
Love this place. I go to UN frequently to restock pantry and fridge staples like black vinegar, oyster sauce, Gochujang, rice noodles, kimchi, and high quality sesame oil. Fantastic selection of all types of Asian ingredients, frozen food, and fresh produce. I always find something new or interesting to try out. Go with a list and an open mind, you'll always leave excited to get home and cook.
Tabitha Bond
Wide selection of items, that are all reasonably priced. Everything from Ramen to dishware to spices. A great place to replenish your cabinet space or give you something to make a spectacular dinner.
Highly recommend.
Rincewind Ruh
I went to Minneapolis by first time and when I found this store I definitely say "I had to go here". So I do and I love it. You can find a lot of Asian food here and it's amazing.
Miss A
Love the variety and helpful staff. Great prices for imported food. Top five in groceries for us. Bulk and organic readily available!
Lisa Breitbarth
Love this store! Just bought some wagyu steak the other day; best steak EVER! Also, their spicy pork Bahn mi sammies are THE BEST!!! They also have the cutest Ramen bowls to drool over😊 …
Yuan Pan
They have the freshest produce with large variety, with some of my favorite hometown vegetables, and the meat section is also impressive!! You can find all kinds of food from China, Japan and korea. The staff are friendly, honest, and provide superb services. 👏 …
Anna Aurora
I would like to recommend this place higher but I have found a lot of items there to be past the expiration date. That really needs to change, as I should drop the stars lower but it resembles many of the grocery stores in my old neighborhood of Chinatown Las Vegas.
I probably need to explore more Asian grocers in the twin cities.
Keelia Silvis
I love this place!! A Korean friend recommended it to my this summer when I complained about craving Japanese/East Asian snacks, and now it's my favorite local grocery store. It has the non-American snacks I crave like squid jerky and spicy tteokbokki, and it also has a great meat & fresh vegetable section.
Only thing to note: If you go during COVID-19, please be respectful of their mask & limited household member policies!
Melissa Taylor
A great variety of East Asian and subcontinent foods. A nice variety of fruits and veggies, miso pastes, and fresh noodles. You can find a bit of everything here.
Stephen Shimizu
Great source of hard to find Japanese items. I actually flew from South Florida to visit this location. They were unfortunately out. But nevertheless a great visit as always
Jeremy W
Fantastic selection and prices as well. With grocery prices so high right now there are lots of staples that are much cheaper here than Cub or Target.

I am learning so much about Minneapolis! United Noodles is an oriental food market that sells a lot of different cuisines from Chinese to Japanese to Indian, etc. They have a ramen restaurant in the middle of the store.
You would not expect to drive by this place and know what it is - it's kind of tucked in a warehouse district, but it is such a neat experience!
For the fun experience and being able to get all ranges of Asian cuisine in a one stop shop, I give this place a 5 star. They had fruit that I had never seen before and apples straight from China!
There were a few cons with coming here. You can find some good deals but it is a little spendy to shop here. I dont think it's priced where you could do all your grocery shopping there if you wanted to. The staff were friendly but not very knowledgeable about the different products (at least in this experience). They knew where things were but not what the difference was between say a gold label and silver for seaweed. With this sort of store, it would be nice for newcomers to get more of a hands on experience and I would definitely have bought more.
The ramen restaurant, we found out, doesn't use noodles that you can buy in their store...they buy them from somewhere else. I was kind of surprised they wouldn't offer a product that they're advertising. Are their ramen noodles they're selling not good then? What are you saying to customers?
My boyfriend was raving about how good their ramen was until we had it. Dont get me wrong - the meat was falling apart tender (very impressive work with their meat and eggs!!) - which was amazing, but ramen is mostly about the broth and the broth had no flavor. It smelled amazing but when you tried it, it just tasted more like water. Maybe that's how it is supposed to be? We added soy sauce and hot sauce to it and it ended up being really delicious!! But it didnt seem to be as good as it used to as far as flavor. Their calamari bites were really tasty. See the attached pictures!
Their chopsticks that they offered were of really poor material and the wood splintered on all of the ones we opened. I have never worried about getting a splinter from chopsticks until I encountered these.
Overall, though, a really neat time and I would definitely recommend trying this place out and eating some ramen!
Joleen Carlson
I don't claim to know much about different foods but they seemed to have a lot of variety of tasty things, including vegetarian and vegan options, and some choices free of other common allergies.
Peng Hsu
I don't know any other Asian food markets in Minneapolis. But when I compare it with the Asian food markets at NYC/NJ, it's nothing less in any way except the price is a bit higher than East coast. Most of the goods are imported from Asia. It's understandable that the cost of transportation added up the price difference. 90% goods you can get from NYC/NJ, you can also get them here. Wow, what a surprise!....
Josh Buck
Awesome selection of some of the finest Asian goods and food. They also have a butcher shop in house as well as a huge selection of everything from fruits and vegetables to frozen and prepared foods, as well as a wide variety of spices and sauces. They also feature a small restaurant inside the building. I had a wonderful shopping experience here and the staff in every department were more than helpful when it came to answering all the different questions I had. I would definitely recommend for anyone shopping for authentic Asian cuisine and foods!
Beth Gasser
I tell all my friends about this hidden gem. We always eat here every chance we get. We bring our exchange students from all over the world here to shop for any ingredient. They always have what we want! Our whole family looks forward to shopping here when we are in town. Still our favorite market after all these years.
Camellia Kalra
They have a vast selection of Asian food. They also have a little cafe. The cafe used to be run by little old ladies with crazy good homestyle cooking, now it's like ramen and spam sushi... the grocery part is still good.
Andrew Birch
My goto Asian Grocery Store for 30 years. Simply the best place for quality products in the Twin Cities.
Joe Czech
Wings, Rice and Ramen! You will not be disappointed with United Noodle. The garlic chili wings are good, but not as good as the kimchi wings they previously had on the menu (hint: bring them back). This was my first time having the savory rice and it was phenomenal! I’d go back just for that dish! Keep it up United Noodle!
Bianca Levasseur
Wow! Love this place! United Noodles has a authentic Oriental grocery and it's absolutely amazing! Fresh produce, noodles and many other great Oriental foods! Definitely will be going back and I'm impressed with the most of the staff, they helped me find alot of things I needed!
Really awesome store! If your reading this...,you should go !
Danette Fettig Halloran
For those of us lucky to have spent enough time in South East Asia to fall in love with authentic Asian-inspired dishes this place is for you. Come for the hot soba (absolutely delicious) and leave with groceries to make your own at home. You won’t be disappointed.
Jared Jones
Love this place, amazing general Asian market with plenty of variety of everything you need from fruits, veggies, meat, seafood, spices, snacks, kitchenware, trinkets, etc, etc. If you don't shop here, you're doing yourself a disservice.
Khoua Eh Lee
An awesome place to grab asian groceries! Employees are nice and helpful. Parking can be troublesome when its busy but there is parking space. Getting here is a bit confusing but its worth the drive. Unidelli is located inside as well. great place to eat and satisfy your ramen cravings and then buy instant noodles afterwards.
Ronnie V
Good variety. Nice produce section. Meat looked fresh. Good selection of fresh noodles.
Becca Robbins
Such a great grocery store! Lots of things you wouldn't be able to find at cub or lunds, good prices too.
I'm Not Tourist
This is kind of Asian Market but mostly item from Japan China Vietnam got some from malaysia but not much.
chai ramxn
really great asian market! had almost everything i needed! perfect place for daily/weekly grocery shopping or if you don’t live close it is a good place to take a day trip to so you can stock up. great produce! a few things are on the spendy side.
Noah Lucas
Have only visited once but they had a good selection of both fresh and non-perishable items. I found exactly what I was looking for and the store had protocols in place for COVID. I will definitely be visiting again
Mardee Sherman
This place is incredible! So many different foods and options! I found sauces that I didn't know existed along with unique vegetables and frozen food. I can't wait to go back! And they have a deli in the store that serves really delicious foods! I ordered the Pork Bao and thought I'd died an gone to heaven! Great place for a quick bite before or after you do your shopping. Highly recommend United Noodles!
Tyler Dvorak
This is the quintessential asian grocery in the twin cities. If you need an obscure ingredient they almost certainly have it. If you need bulk goods they probably have several options. Big fan of Shin Ramyun? Buy a whole tray full! Best of the best!
Ben Hastings
One of the largest Asian groceries that really spans all types of Asian ethnic groups. It's my go-to for Shin Ramen, my absolute favorite. They also have some Mexican food -- not much but some.
I will say -- store layout is really weird. There's essentially a right and left side of the store. The coolers end of being oddly arranged. It is nice too because they have kitchen supplies and bowls etc you can't get at "western stores" - ramen/pho spoons, hot pot separators, bento boxes, etc.
Laine
I’m getting into ramen lately and found this place, the noodles had a nice texture but the pork was so thick cut and it needed to be cooked down more it was hard to bite into, the broth had nice flavor but egg was sooo salty I couldn’t eat it. Giving it a 4 star only because the peanuts in the ramen give such a nice texture and flavor I was sooo pleasantly surprised
Also the savory rice was really good! Definitely will order again!!!
Ellen Wall
United Noodles is such a great Asian grocery! Worth making the trek to the Hiawatha area and dealing with traffic. Came looking for ramen bowls and there was a great variety. Also picked up some ramen ingredients and a few fun random items as well because how can you not?
Derpius Derp
I find this place overwhelmingly cool due to the amount of Ramen , Cool Souvenir items , and foods you can find there . The Food court is small yet big enough to fit the people dining here. The wait however can be 5-10 Mintues long especially when your in a rush . My one complaint really is not having items like manga , anime , things you'd find in a store like tomodachi.
Anya Gupta
Looks like they're currently under renovations. This is a fun corner store hidden in a nook (it's like Diagon Alley in Harry Potter. lol, hidden behind a unassuming BrickWall until you enter inside.) Worth checking out now and then, since they're always up to something new and rearranging things inside. Recommendations? I mainly come for the deli and drinks but it can get busy. If parking gets full -you can park at the stores next door, you'll just have to be mindful not to park too long.
Anna Dentlinger
Love coming here to get a quick bite to eat and to get some groceries. Has a great selection of teas, candies, dry goods, instant noodles for busy days, and so on. One of my favorites to get from the deli area is the pork baos, they are filling and very tasty. My fiance loves the ramen especially the spicy miso.
Rayjennae Bass
United Noodles have SO many options of Asian food from all over Asia! They have noodles, chips, candies, and regular groceries as well as other fruits and sea food that is not common to see in Minnisota. My favorite place by far when it comes to Asian food.
Christy Lin
They were missing a few items that I was looking for: classic Japanese gummies shaped like hearts, individually packaged. Dried seaweed (not kelp) for soups. And soondubu jiggae broth ingredients. I wish the candy section included more Taiwanese types. Since they are trying to cover a lot of ground by stocking ingredients and food from multiple countries, this is a decent store to get the basics. I’m Asian American, grew up in Los Angeles and had access to every type of cuisine possible. This is a good store, considering that we are not on the coasts.
Sandy Aubin
Great variety and selections of Asian foods, produce, and homegoods. Fair prices, helpful staff.
Andrew
Awesome selection of different Asian cultural foods from Thai, Vietnamese, Japanese, to Korean and so much more. If you want an exciting adventure try buying some new items based on the packaging, you may find a new favorite snack.
Tamara Jones
This is an amazing place to find anything you need in the Asian realm of cooking, from everyday to fancy. Their meat counter is unbelievable with its array of unique affordable meats. Great produce selection with hard-to-find produce!
(Pic of brining pork belly slab...)
Nicolette Reker
Fantastic selection for Asian groceries! I always find something new to try.
Simon Anderson
Huge selection! We just returned from Japan and were looking for a few specific products. We will definitely be back!
Martin Nguyen
Basically an Asian Super market. There's a few things that I haven't seen elsewhere but not much. I also ate at the unideli, ordered the Dramen and the Tantanmen. I didn't particularly love either, they were both super rich. The noodles were good though. Next time will definitely try the more standard Ramen like miso or tonkotsu.
Senchu Punyamurthula
Great store, fresh veggies and edibles. Loved the machi machi store with Bobba and teas.
Will Matthews
East to shop at Asian Market. Lots of variety at decent prices. Staff was adequate. Looking forward to trying all the goodies.
Minseo Hwang
Love shopping here! There's a lot of different varieties of candies and items that other stores don't have. I highly recommend this place for all the shopping needs.
Kari Dorsher
The Dramen Ramen was fabulous! Saw Unideli on Diners Drive-ins and Dives and had to try it. We also had the Taiwanese Beef Roll, Tantanmen Ramen and Boba green tea. It was all very delicious and we'll be back to try more!
Anne Holecek
Great selection for all your cooking and snacking needs!
Fun place to explore!🍜🥢 …
Justin S.
They got variety of Asian stuffs there
We find what we need !
A bit pricey ! But it is from time time thing
People working there are very nice !
Just a little bit far from where I live !
I hope the Asian market in my neighborhood open soon !
Andrew Czernek
A great Asian market with all kinds of packaged products and spices, as well as fresh vegetables and meats. Highly recommended.
B Rod
Always good eats no matter your choice.
Counter service inside an Asian grocery store. So you can pick up some provisions too.
Top 5 ramen in the cities in my opinion.
The entrance is down an alley/drive way between buildings with parking.
Can get busy but during off days and hours it will be easy to get a bite quick and essy.
Eric Mistry
Best Asian market in the Twin Cities. Every staple and unusual ingredient you could ask for. Very clean. Excellent ramen at Unideli, a fast casual ramen spot inside. Pro-tip: buying a case of something nets an additional 10% off! (Tofu comes out to close to a dollar per block here vs $2+ at Cub,etc)
K Anderson
The best place to market for Asian cooking ingredients!
This is a very well managed and cared for store, and as busy as it was at noon on a Saturday, the wonderful cashiers worked through the line quickly and with great attitudes.
United Noodles is worth the trip!
Breon Nagy
If you're looking for Asian ingredients, this place is a must. Chinese, Japanese, Korean, they have it all. Fresh produce and meats. Japanese candies and treats. Stop by the Unideli inside for lunch before shopping.
Chris Schiffer
This is the East Asian grocery store for everyone and stocks grocery products from Southeast Asia, Japan, Korea, and China. It also happens to have the best bahn mi I have tasted, so it's a great stop to pick up some groceries around lunch time. They also have an excellent produce section in terms of variety, quality, and price.
synbios16
Great Asian market with a huge variety of sauces, noodles, produce, fish, meat, teas and sweets.
Many, many items you will never see in Target or Walmart!
They still have a goofy mask requirement and the parking lot has always been an issue, but the store is great
BinLee S
There's something here for everybody!
They carry everything from dried and canned foods to fresh and frozen!
Oh yea, let's not forget about the hot foods!
The spam musubi's in the front of the store is good. But the ones at the UniDeli are fried and served with extra sauce!
I would go back there just for the Fried Spam Musubi's. 🤤
Alex Valois
Great store, with a huge selection and good prices. Have left happy every time I've gone.
Jacob Trueman
Great shop! Unique & charming atmosphere, solid selection, fun handwritten produce descriptions
Leslie Baker
I found everything on my list; mostly fresh produce. Friendly and helpful people.
Lauren Moffett
United noodles is always a fun grocery stop. If you enjoy cooking with ingredients usually used in Asian cuisine, it's a pretty safe bet that they will have what you need here!
They also have an excellent selection of produce at a great price.
Fuechai Vang
Price tags are usually missing for a few products, such as the rice bags. All the snacks are amazing, just a little pricey. Overall a nice nostalgic place to restock on Asian foods and spices.
Amanda Ou
we went there on June 28th 2022, it was surprisingly this our favorite grocery store so empty n not much things in there n same as employees too, i talked to one of there employee n he told me that they were shorthanded, not enough people to work, kind of disappointing, i know they are remodeling too, but being one of largest Asian grocery stores in Minneapolis n they couldn't keep up the products, im not so sure i will come back to shop this grocery store, cuz i drive 40 minutes n nothing for me buy n also their price is increasing a lot too, used to be one of our favorable grocery stores, now i need to think about. even though they have nice employees but for us long drive n nothing to buy n price sigh 😕. oh well maybe just shop there once a year to help them, we can helping each other during this difficulty year.
Ryan Blodgett
Yum! We tried the tea eggs along with the ramen, very tasty, can't wait to go back! The Vietnamese coffee was also delicious!
Maiyoua Thao
Nice place to shop.
Patrick Kelly
The best Asian fast food I've ever experienced is at Unideli in the grocery store. I'd appreciate a little more variety.
Molly Stoltz
So much here to see and buy. My go to spot for sushi supplies.
Erica Boulay-Ali
Love this grocery store. The produce and and chicken are so fresh and delicious. They have the exact brand of ramen we love, and they've got multiple brands of canned Thai tea. We needed some Japanese sake for a recipe and couldn't find it, and the cashiers we so knowledge about Japanese and Chinese cooking. They scoured the store looking for the last bottle of Sake for us. I love this grocery store, it's the only place for our cooking needs!
Emily Somebody
I love this store but the layout is awful. Biggest issue with the lay out is the isles themselves. Everything is jam packed together and it is difficult to navigate. Basically if you stop to actually look at something you will be blocking the way for others. It's very frustrating, if you go in in a busy day do yourself a favor and don't bother with a cart and you will be able to get around better and faster.
Melissa Bremer
Big selection of imported foods, both dry and fresh, a variety of ramen. I saw a lot of fish and thinly sliced meats. Lots of fresh breads and spongecakes. The produce section is small but the produce looked good, nothing was rotting or bruised. They even had moon cakes for Chinese New Year. I spent 80$ here but got a lot of items. They save the boxes their products come in, and you can use them for your food at checkout instead of non recyclable plastic bags. It was much easier to bring my products to the car in the boxes instead of using the bags. The parking lot is sizeable but strangely shaped with no clear parking lines but it does the job. Great Asian market, I will be coming back in the future!
Nicholas Willette
Always enjoy going here. Great food selection for a good price and the restaurant is very good as well!
Update 01/2023 - the restaurant was replaced with a boba shop which shut down and now there is nothing there sad. Hopefully something else opens up there soon
rudolfo hermosilla
Ill give it a 5 for food BUT servers needs to be worked on because i was choking on my food been waiting for wait staff to ask for water/napkins and other stuff but they busy with other customers. Busy restaurant tho
Stephen Cismowski
Amazing grocery their produce is great quality and inexpensive. The cafe is stellar! I wish that you many people didn't know about it! I've lived it for decades. It was my secret place for years before it's current glory
Katie Sanchez
I love this store. I can find everything here, not just ingredients but woks, dishes, reusable chopsticks, moon cake moulds, specialty teas, cookies, candies, MUSHROOMS, beautiful ginger, literally anything your heart would want from an Asian market. And the people are nice. I love this market.
Kevin Taketa
Likely due to the pandemic and supply chain issues, much of their inventory has become a small fraction of the past. Especially instant noodle selection. Hopefully this will improve in time. ☹
M R
Has a good variety of products. The layout might be a little confusing if you aren’t familiar with Asian grocery items but the isles are clearly marked with signs. Love getting produce here. I got chicken here once and it was spoiled (smelled like eggs) so I’ve decided to avoid the butcher section. Prices are a little high but I feel like that’s pretty common in asian grocery stores since they have to import a lot of their products.
Eric Larsen
I've heard that United Noodles' ramen is in the top 10 in the states! I had tonkotsu ramen (pork bone broth), and the broth was amazing. The noodles could have been a little more al dente, but all in all it was great. The pork they put in the ramen was simply amazing. Plus, after you're stuffed and need to walk off the ramen- you can shop around the awesome asian imports store part of UN. I will definitely be back for more ramen, and a little ice cream mochi for dessert!
Stephan L K
My go to store for Asian grocery needs. Clean, easy to navigate, friendly staffs. It's hard to get your hands on packages of Sun Noodles Ramen as they are in hot demand.
misterLEE
Nice and tidy as usual. The UniDeli is a must try. A bit on the costly side but the food is fantastic. Wait might be long due to the high amount of customers.
Lloyd Lentz
One of the best places to get delicious ramen. Also great Asian grocery store.
Thomasina Kundalini
Best place in the twin cities for a large variety of authentic foods. Was there today and they even have a Hawaiian section now! Chinese Japanese Thai Korean Indian you name it. Great place for exotic ingredients. Not all of it is in English. Bring your readers or a magnifying glass if you are not sure what you have in your hand. Many items now have a printed label stuck on in English. Very hard to read sometimes. Fresh exotic fresh veggies and produce rock!
Mai Hue Her
It's a very secluded area the wait was very long almost close to an hour. Lots of customers complained about the wait. the food was a little on the salty side but other than that it was interesting.
Ying Thao
I love going here for japanese and Korean related food that I can't find anywhere else. Especially if I don't want to wait or if I'm just curious and want to try something new. This is one of my go to Asian stores. 🥰 …
Vee Lee
I will always love this place! Been shopping here for years. I miss Machi Machi and their delicious small plates, but their fresh Bahn Mi are wonderful too. I've introduced multiple friends to this market too. Great selection of products from across Asia including frozen and produce, helpful staff, and great prices. I missed shopping during the Pandemic and I'm so happy they're fully re-opened.
Francis Chock
Find your Asian ingredients here. Great resource for weird and hard to find ingredients. Great place to grab a snack
Jeremiah Pegues
You know the noodles is great. It has a selection of everything you need, if you are specifically going there to find Asian groceries. The only thing that I don’t see are Indian/Pakistani/Bengali food but they have an entire aisle dedicated to Ramen. So if that’s your thing, you’re in the right place. They also have the grocery store split into a produce section and a dry goods section, so it gets slightly easier to find the food you’re looking for if you do not speak the language of its country. Definitely the most friendly Asian supermarket to non-Asians.
Ellen H
One of the most cleaned oriental stores in town . I can find most of my childhood snack in this store. Good variety of Japanese, Chinese, Korean etc snacks , drinks and sauces . Good selections of fresh produce. They have a small isle of kitchen utensils for dinning and cooking .
Suzanne Budde
Very clean and well maintained. Items we haven't been able to find since our trips to Japan and Taipei . We will be back!
Todd Bakken
Wonderful Asian market, possibly the best in the Minneapolis-Saint Paul area. The restaurant was closed (I think temporarily) as of a visit on 9/14/22.
lilith verborg
Best place to go for that hard to find ingredient. I love the snacks especially. Sweet or savory, you can find it here.
Eli V.
Amazing selection! Multiple brands of most items, and lots of fresh, hard to find produce and meats. They have foods from every Asian country -- very rarely have I had to look for an ingredient elsewhere. I've always had excellent experiences here. :) They are also taking safety precautions seriously, which is very good to see.
Fes Works
wonderful assortment of asian foods, though I'm usually there for the variety of imported snacks! Starting to check out their noodle and foods sections.
christina marie Johnson
I adore UN. Went there last time to get all of the fixings for fresh spring rolls, sushi, some snacks, beverages. And it’s insanely cheap. It’s a great way to feed your family on a budget and create tasty food. You can also order food in the grocery store as well.
Easy parking. 10/10 reccomend!
Michael Langdon-Phillips
Widest selection of asian foods in the twin cities with a wide variety of noodles, spices, sauces, oils, and dried goods from most asian nations. Large meat, produce, refrigerator and freezer section, all with great pricing. If there is an asian product that you are looking for you are unlikely not to find it here.
Tu-Uyen Tran
My favorite Asian grocery store. They have almost everything here. One thing lacking is a lot of Vietnamese items so I have to go else where. They do have some really good bánh mì though.
Alvin Kim
A little pricy, but definitely a great place to find the harder-to-get asian products in the cities. Also believe it's a multi-family business. Support family-owned!
Yuan Ding
Our go-to for Asian produce and imported food items. Veggies are fresh, and they have a good selection of specialty sauces, spices and noodles.
Scott Armstrong
They have everything you need!!!
It was one of the best experiences I've ever had shopping anywhere. The amount of products, choices, and rare items was very impressive.
Everyone, including the customers were very pleasant.
United Noodles is my new place! 😀❤️
Caitlin Searls
I could spend every dime I have here. Such a great place with so much cool stuff if you want to try something new. Also, the staff is so friendly and awesome.
Bunker
Very cool Asian grocery store! Huge inventory with just about anything one could imagine from noodles to vegg to meat to spice. The two female employees that assisted me with finding things were very nice and professional as well. I will be back for sure and it is right behind Coastal Seafoods btw😁 …
Jeremy Otto
We absolutely love this store, we visit Everytime we are in Minneapolis. The selection is fantastic and the cafe is out of this world!
Brian Stankiewicz
Great Asian store to find those difficult to find items. Noodle bar also had some great soups if you find yourself hungry while shopping.
guadalupe johnson
Interesting store! Variety of everything! Clean environment, and good prices!
JJ Hadley
Lots of incredible options, snacks and drinks! Plus they have Machi Machi inside with amazing cheese teas!
Omar Diaz
I love you United Noodle! And cheers to you Machi Machi! From fresh produce, miso, seafood, noodles, treats, and soup soy sauce (my primary visits here), I always walk away with treasure. Thanks so much for product recommendations and good times! See you soon!
Logan M-C
They are phenomenal. Sp helpful. They stock both genders (see photo)
D Hampton
Super busy store, has many varieties of food to choose from. Will have to come back again and browse the different foods to try. Couple of super helpful staff members that assisted me on my last visit made my trip more pleasant.
Ryan
Excellent variety and prices. Gets very warm though, why doesn't this place have AC?
EDIT: the deli is long gone, and the boba place shut down too.
The deli is pretty bad, but the grocery store is great. Absolutely worth a visit.
Ezra G
Has a nice selection of noodles, sauces, and snacks. Their dumpling wall is great for all your dumpling needs. They have a section for hotpot meats and ingredients so you can find a lot of what you might want. In the middle of the store, there is a Boba shop that sells the best treat-yo-self Boba with cream brulee toppings and other deliciousness.
Timothy Graham
My favorite Asian grocery store I've visited in the Twin Cities so far - however as a white guy that is just beginning to experiment with Chinese and Japanese cooking, I can't really say that I'm an expert on the subject.
There is a huge selection of ingredients for various different Asian cuisines here. So far I haven't failed to find an ingredient that I was searching for. Many stores in the area seem to focus on pantry and frozen items, but United Noodles has a great fresh produce and meat section with all sorts of items you wouldn't find elsewhere.
Some prices seem a bit higher than other stores I've visited, but the store is very well organized which saves enough time that I really don't mind. The store is usually pretty busy, and it is sometimes difficult to park during peak hours. However, it's still much less chaotic than your average Cub Foods.
Stephen Sudbeck
Has the best selection of Asian foods and makings for all types of Asian cuisines. Fresh to frozen to dry goods. It used to have a restaurant inside, but with the new circumstances, I don't know. If you can't find it here, you don't need it.
Suzie S.
Our Original Review (from Yelp) 3/14/2018:
Whenever we're in the area we make it a point to stop by United Noodles, grab some lunch and do some shopping! They have a wide variety of dry goods, frozen stuff and fresh produce. I'm pretty sure their tofu is cheaper than what the local grocery store charges. I always get the beef noodle bowl for lunch and it's never disappointed! The prices, overall, seem reasonable for what you're getting. Highly recommended place to check out if you're in the area!
Eric Colón
Favorite Asian grocery store in Minneapolis.
Choua Vang
Awesome place! Best selection of noodles and my favorite Rose Tea buds. Everything you cannot find at your local Asian market you will find here.
Mike Bowen
This is a hidden gem. Possibly the most flavorful ramen I’ve tasted, balanced proportions, and well seasoned.
J L
Layout and brands have slightly changed I think due to supply issues or just not popular enough to be with carrying. Selection of various produce, frozen, spices, and shelf stable goods still very nice.
scott shimotsu
Have constantly upgraded their offerings and currently in process of remodeling a section of their store. Recently converted their cafeteria ramen shop into a tea drink stand. Offers a wide variety of pan Asian options. A good place to start if unsure about specific asian ingredients for a new recipe! Other asian stores are lacking or emphasize specific ethnic backgrounds cuisines.
Jared Frandson
I go here just about every week for a case of tofu at $1.30 a block. So many wonderful special ingredients that you really need an Asian market for. This market is spotless and well organized. The noodle shop in the center makes for a great lunch, and the produce is excellent
REVFORCOFFEE (RC)
I really like this place. They have a decent selection of japanese food. My mother goes here for her ingredients for traditional Japanese cuisine and can find most things. Sometimes they are out of items but most of the time we can get stuff.
Watch out for the other businesses in the area. They can be quite aggressive if you park in an area that's theirs - possible altercations could occur. I've heard of people having issues, hence the warning.
Otherwise the store itself gets super busy esp on Saturdays. The restaurant in the store is also quite good.
David HUDGENS
My new favorite place to eat and shop! This is like a destination field trip for anyone looking for a new experience!
Hong Lee
Their ramen went downhill. It's only ok now.
Andrea Pasutti
Excellent variety as always. Awesome meat counter and good prices on the thinly sliced stuff for your pho or Ramen. Sad to see they got rid of the lunch counter and replaced it with a beverage bar. I'm not even remotely interested in that. Bummer, their Ramen was excellent.
Jack Walsh
Love this place for the Asian food options, probably the best place in the cities for access to different ingredients. A bit hard to find things though as it is a bit disorganized.
chris christiansen
I first checked this store out as it was a bit closer to home than the normal place I went for rice. While the value for rice is comparable with the other store I go to, the wide variety and less cramped floor space of United Noodles offers a lot to bring me back. Also one of the only places near home that I can consistently find green tea ice cream.
Having a small restraunt inside is a nice touch and offers a nice chance to try some different types of food. From my limited knowledge of how to use the many different ingredients available this is a good place to find a lot of different food ingredients and get some inspiration to learn how to use them.
Alice
The bbq chicken bahn mi's they make there are 10/10. Go try one ($5.99) and you'll know what I mean. Everything is good there.
briana stamper
I love this place! I've been coming here for close to 20 years and it never disappoints as I am CRAZY about all types of Asian foods. I feel like people shy away from these types of markets because they feel like they'll be lost. But the staff is extremely helpful, friendly and diverse. So stop in!
Melanie Holmes
Great Asian grocery store! They had a large collection of fresh & frozen food (sadly though they were out of Thai chilies)! It was a little hard to find (you need to go down an alley/parking lot to find it). Will definitely be returning!
Yung Yip
High quality, but high prices. Carries the better brands of Asian goods, and the only store that consistently have hot pot sliced meats in stock. Their produce is always super fresh. But about 20-30% pricier if you can find the exact same product at the stores in the Frog Town area. Would be 5+ 🌟 if they were not so pricy. …
Ben Johnson
What a selection of Asian food and cooking ingredients!! Dry goods, spices, fresh produce, cooking and serving gear - they've got it all! We just got back from Thailand and now we can recreate our meals. Hot food choices too that you can eat right there.
David Oberlander
First time there and loved the noodles. Need to go back and try other dishes. Can’t wait to go back.
Carol Behmlander
Just the greatest I cannot say enough and the shrimp 💜💜💜 …
Laurel Marsh
I love United Noodles! Such a large variety of foods from Asian countries that allow me to recreate my favorite Japanese, Korean, Thai, and Chinese dishes at home. The deli is also wonderful for a meal or a quick snack. My go to Asian market for shopping! Make sure you know the translation for some foods as the labels are often in the original language and if you can't read the characters you hopefully can match them to the name saved on your phone.
Sember Sorenson
Such a great store. Everything you could want in an Asian Grocery, including fresh noodles, meat, seafood, and produce. Also love the selection of affordable tableware. Highly recommend.
Nance B.
Most people go here and eat, but, I love to shop here. They have fresh produce like yucca which I bought today along with Japanese eggplant. It's clean, the staff is extremely helpful. A fresh meat and seafood case. A butcher on site. The cashiers are engaging asking what I was planning to do with the yucca and she suggested a recipe for a dessert of which I googled and am going to try.
Chloe
Anything you could possibly want regarding snacks, ramen, sauces, cooking tools, drinks, fresh produce, frozen products, meat, and bakery items are here. It's my favorite asking food store in Minnesota!
Ed Kim
Good Asian market located in the heart of Minneapolis.
Joree Wuollet
This is an awesome place to find foods and ingredients you can’t get anywhere else. It’s organized pretty clearly and they have massive selections of Asian sweets and desserts, which is my favorite part. They also have a deli inside that serves ramen and various other Japanese fare that is pretty decent for the price.
Ruben Tipparach
I just love all the snacks here. They have lots of authentic fresh ingredients. Where else am I gonna get pork belly to make stir fry with?
A Murphy
This is the go to Asian market in the twin cities for staples. It's a nice selection of various country's foods as opposed to a specific Korean store or Japanese or Chinese food store. It also has a good deli inside as well. Just be prepared because you are basically going into a warehouse. It doesn't look like you average store.
Josh Piatt
Pretty awesome place to visit, all kinds of foods. We found some great soup base, and lots of drinks. I like the fact that they have a wide selection of foods. From dried things like noodles and soups and see weed, to seasonings, spices drinks fresh vegetables fresh and frozen meats, dried meats even. Just an all around good place to stop if you want to find Asian foods.
Claudia Jensen
so much stuff! it's always a fun place to be. they have so many cool things. a great place to go if you need a place to go pick up ingredients for your delicious asian meals! it isn't usually super busy so you can run in and out quickly.
Sagnik Paul
Location is convenient but doesn't have a variety in stock. A lot of items feel more novelty. It's the place to go for more generic Asian groceries but you are better off looking at more regional grocery stores for specific products
Jessgil G
Always an excellent taiwanese beef noodles that you can never have enough...so yummy! !
Cheryl Svitak
Love the variety of Asian foods.
Cathy Cozad
Our family’s go to place for imported foods from the Asian continent. We’ve host several exchange students from South Korea and China that have loved to shop at United Noodle to find foods from home. I have heard about other great food import locations around town but I like to also grab a bowl of soup while I’m shopping. Yum!
Tony Gaughran
This store has a great variety of foods that I enjoy. Prices are reasonable. Staff has always been attentive, helpful, and friendly.
Greg Meyer
This is an amazing place. Not fancy, and definitely hidden away, but clean and well organized with an amazing array of Asian food. Both packaged and fresh. Also cooking supplies. And a small Cafe with great food that fits its genre. You've got stop in and explore. You will return!
Arden Nelson
I've always loved this place they have a huge selection, it's perfect for finding ingredients that aren't stocked at average grocery stores. Also SO happy and grateful that it's available through Instacart now! I'll definitely be able to give them more frequent business now.
Eamon
Best Asian grocery store in the area! While it can be argued that Dragon Star offers more variety and items, the produce and meat selection is much better at United Noodles. In addition, the store is clean and organized better, and there is also a mini-restaurant that serves food so you and your loved ones won't get hangry while grocery shopping. We much prefer to shop here for our Asian grocery needs! Highly recommend!
Nikhil
If you can find the store, you've discovered a treasure chest of food. Their produce is quality (and cheap), and they have a vast selection of Asian items (plus there's a restaurant in there with taaaaasty food). So many noodles that it's a bit intimidating, actually, but I've decided to work my way down the aisle to figure out what I like best :)
Kristina Etheridge
Omg let me tell you that this is one of the best Asian food markets that I have ever been in. There are so many hard to find ingredients here. We drove 2 hours and it was definitely worth it. We will be coming back.
Eric Jacobson
Wide selection of East and Southeast Asian groceries, dried, fresh, frozen, and canned; often including fresh galanga root, frozen lime leaves, many varieties of canned or bottled sauces, good selection of frozen natto, dried sea vegetables, many types of rice and noodles, much more. Seasonal good prices on some fruits, vegetables.
I gave only 4 star because recent global supply chain problem and only two locations in MSP metro, one near inner Minneapolis down an barely marked alley off a side street in an OK neighborhood, other recent location too far out East Slurbs for this carless inner city guy.
Samantha Saykao
This place is really nice and clean. They have a small area dedicated to cooking and beauty. This is a really good place to buy East Asian foods. My mom couldn't really find everything she needed for Nam, so I really wouldn't recommend it for SE Asian food needs.
Leanne Love
I love this store. It's a great place to find Asian food & ingredients, and their produce is good quality for a decent price! Their meat is also very reasonably priced, and they always have bones for making homemade soup/stock!
Megan Houston
Excellent ramen. We got the tonkatsu and the dramen
Eowyn Ward
So many delicious foods. Clean, friendly staff, everything is well organized.
Review update: they've only gotten better over the years.
Drew R
A great resource for hard to find international imports. Not the greatest customer service but I don't shop there for the people. The deli used to have the best Ramen in Minnesota but after the chef left some years ago it just doesn't have the same quality for the price it's a pass.
Yangmee Vang
I like this oriental store. There’s a great mix of Japanese, Korean, Chinese, etc. food here. There’s also a little beauty section with Korean skincare and health products. I also really liked the restaurant inside the store. The spicy miso ramen was delicious! Will definitely be coming back.
Michael Heveron
Nice one stop shopping for those items, the normal grocery stores don't carry
Vina Chalice
They have EVERYTHING! I’m always hunting for the ingredients of the food I’m craving for, and United Noodles makes the search fulfilling. For someone that’s bopped around Asia for the last 14 years, I appreciate the multicultural variety of brands, produce, and organic options. Ready to made food on the go, drinks, snacks, that I can’t get anywhere else. Not your typical boring supermarket, and I know everyone by name.
K Peyton
Fantastic variety and a wide selection of everything Asian (including dishware & cookware). Not to mention the produce here is often cheaper than other local stores. Look no further for your dragonfruit, tofu, Oriental eggplant, and green onion needs. If you need noodles or rice, this is your place whether you need a couple pounds or a giant bag. Occasionally they'll be out of seasonal stuff, but usually get it back in stock soon enough. One of my favorite grocery stores for stuff that's otherwise really hard to find.
Drie Nice
Probably the best Oriental market I have come to thus far. They have this store set up very nice and accommodating to all parts of the Orient. they also have a restaurant in the middle I heard is awesome I have not experienced but I do plan on to in near future. You will not smell fish in the air here it's very clean their produce is little bit more expensive than other oriental markets they also offer more organic options when shopping here and have a variety of rice available including black rice for purchase they also carry a lot of products for East Indian cuisine and in the back along left wall they have a very well priced clearance section of all varieties. You will also find a variety of meats here including lamb chicken beef shrimp fish also chicken feet. Chinese sausage comes in a variety and includes products that are without pork
Which I like this option when making turnip cakes. Lots of different ice creams including green tea and speaking of there is a section that you will find dedicated to tea. You'll find that by the cooking utensils and supplies such as bowls and spoons teapots and other cookware as well as chopsticks for cooking and for eating decorative or wooden and even training chopsticks for beginners.
jess V.
Loved the store it has a good variety of Asian produce. I find things here that i cant find at other asian stores.Somethings are a bit pricey but worth it in my opinion. They also have some foods to take on the go, not a lot but usually rice balls with tuna or sandwhiches, different kinds every time I go.
Ashley German
Your one stop shop for all the best Asian foods you could want. Huge selections of candy and treats, tons of items to use for creating the perfect dishes at home, and a huge grocery selection as well! The staff are always very friendly and helpful. For sure a place I stop any time I'm in the area! Also, do please try the UniDeli! Fantastic ramen!
Hali Schatz
This is a gem. Minneapolis is so blessed to have so many ethnic markets and United noodle doesn't disappoint. The whole front of he store is dedicated to the usual teas, snacks, well known sauces and candies that bring in the masses but if one ventures further you will be greeted by aisle after aisle of spices and mysterious asian condiments. And that doesn't even mention the amazing fresh butcher and produce selection. I am in almost every week. They have a small deli that I mean to eat at soon. The prices are very reasonable.
Dana Wagner
We did not eat at the restaurant we only shopped. This review is of our shopping experience only.
This was our first trip to this place and we were delighted with the quantity of items avaliable. The dry goods offers a decent selection of items ranging in most all asian cultures. Not great just good. Above average.
The fresh products were another matter. Many items were rotten or expired, it was truly sad.
The high note is that that carry an excellent kimchee!!!
The staff were friendly and the place was clean.
They are however very very expensive. We have visited smaller asian shops and have found almost everything cheaper elsewhere. We do want to try the restaurant portion as it looked and smelled amazing!!
Jarrod Stenberg
Great produce. Large collection of hard to find groceries.
Michael Cheng
Having moved to the Twin Cities 6 months ago, I was looking for a market selling Asian foods. I didn't know about this place until my cousin mentioned it after 6 months of being here. Went there on Chinese New Year because I wanted to get dumplings and jackpot! It was great to be able to get a large bag of brown rice also, which I couldn't find in any other supermarket. So glad to have found this place! All your Asian food needs in one place including sweets!
Tomo Sato
Great place with lots of selection for items that are otherwise hard to find around here, especially things like rice types, soy sauces from different countries, natto (fermented soybean... no idea why), base ingredients for desserts (various mochi powder types and other gelling agents commonly used in Japanese desserts). Probably the best selection of some of these specialty things in the area I've seen.
Sonia Merten
I love the grocery store, so this review is geared toward the restaurant. Admittedly, this was my first time trying ramen at a restaurant, and I wanted to try a place that was highly regarded. The food wasn't bad, but two of us spent about $35 for two bowls of ramen. It was kind of underwhelming I guess? Felt a bit overpriced for what we got. Not planning to return to the restaurant, but we'll definitely be back for grocery shopping.
Anna
My favorite grocery! You can get lots of hard-to-find Asian goods here. Plus they have a great produce section!
Ira
The restaurant has very high quality food, and the grocery store is usually well stocked with a great variety. Most of it is cheaper than I can find elsewhere. Tere are quite a few items that are more expensive than other Oriental markets, but those items usually have a larger variety.
xombina jones
This place is great! It's an Asian grocery store with a food counter in the middle. There are a few tables to sit at. I got a bunch of Asian junk food and some noodle soup. Everything was really yummy and very authentic. I had tea eggs! Those are hard to find. The only criticism is the vietnamese coffee was not made via pour over but served to keep in a plastic cup.
Dee CrepitUS
This is where I get my Asian fix. They have reasonably priced produce and some that you won't find at a regular grocery store. I've dined at the diner here on cold months to warm my belly with their awesome soups. Decently priced noodle dishes and heftly serving size, I always end up with a leftover.
Jessi Silver
I love this place for specialty Asian ingredients, but it also serves as a decent stop for regular grocery shopping. Decent selection of produce and meats, especially some cuts that can be hard to find at supermarkets.
Sarah Estey
This my all-time favorite supermarket. The selection is just right and it is my go to for vegetarisn staples like canned jackfruit, thai tea, fried tofu, bok choy, et cetera. This staff is polite and knowledgeable. The check out is quick and efficient. Five out of five hands down.
Jose Gonzalez
Great place in the neighborhood. Have everything you would expect.
Nathan Jelinek
Enjoyed the experience at United Noodle. Lunch location and oriental market, come have a bite and then pick up a few groceries as well. It's a little tucked away and inconspicuous, but good nonetheless. Food place felt a little spendy for what you get, but lots of options for oriental shopping in the store, you'll probably find what you need.
It Ness
Best Asian market in the twin cities. You won't find their selection anywhere else around here. Clean and well maintained, great prices too. Just compare spices to your typical grocery shop!
Richard Goerwitz
Mostly Asian, but also Mexican and Indian, food, fresh and packaged, plus an eatery built in. The eatery serves some of the saltiest food I've eaten, but I'm told it's the way that particular style of food is made. The whole place is fun, though, and people of all nationalities can be seen wandering around. Makes shopping fun.
Jared Kronenwetter
Discovered this place on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives and had to check it out. It is a little pricey but it's definitely worth it. It's definitely a unique atmosphere. I guarantee you find a restaurant this good in any other grocery store.
Neil Hoeffner
This is a must to go and see. I know I gave it 3 stars but I really do love this place. My only issue is the restaurant. Food is good but the prices are high. Also the fresh protein area has limited selection of things. It's due to limited space. Everything else is great. People are helpful and selection of hard to find goods are plentiful. Prices for everything not in the restaurant are pretty good too. If the restaurant wasn't there it would get a solid 4 stars easy.
Leabel Munoz
i love the noodles here. quite fancy!
For a moment, there were just way too many thoughts and ideas going through my mind, and I was just overwhelmed. I remember thinking and asking myself questions like: Should I go in and help him? Should I at least stop it and tell an adult?
But instead of following my heart, and doing what was right, I froze. I froze there like a statue, too shocked to even blink. The shouting noises seem to have faded into the background. And I seemed to have faded in my own world. I regretted that I'd ever laughed at him. The feeling of complete melancholy, the feeling of downright regret and hatred, the feeling of resentment made an alliance and loomed over me. I felt like I was gagging on salty waters, but too afraid and too bashful to use my arms and legs to swim to the surface.
He must have noticed me, for he looked up at me with all the strength he had left. He was bruised all over his face. For about ten seconds, he looked at me and I looked at him. He then mouthed the words: "Help, please."
Instead of standing up for him, I backed down.
I walked backward, further and further back until I stumbled and fell out of the circle of spectators. I looked in his direction until the gap in the crowd started to fill in. Then I walked away fighting back tears.
I wanted to march up and tell the aggressors and the spectators that what they'd done was inhumane. I wanted to tell everybody that they did not have the right to pick on a boy one-third of their size, they did not have the right to tell a boy that he wasn't beautiful, just because of a subtle birthmark on his face. I wanted to tell them that they were the definition of ignorance and failure. I wanted to tell them that what they were doing was wrong!
But instead, I walked away and let the victim down.
Three years have passed since the incident, and a lot has changed and happened. But strangely, that scene is as clear and concise in my mind as it was then. The regret and the pain sting just as much as it did then. The incident has become a scar that has formed on my heart and never seems to heal. It's like a curse that can never be broken.
I'll bet he has forgotten and hated me for what I have done. And I have hated myself for not speaking up. But I know that it's too late now and I have already lost a chance to be brave and to be myself.
So with this opportunity, I wanted to show and tell everybody that: Sometimes, the things you see about me are only the things I reveal. The things you think you know about me are only the things I let you know about. There is much more of me that I haven't revealed, of which you have absolutely no idea.
Perhaps the reason that people are afraid to reveal their true identities is that they might think their thoughts are too bitter, unlikable, unique and different. I'm a great example of that! I could have followed my heart and stood up for the boy, but instead, I went with the flow and didn't help a person in need.
I hope that people will learn from my experience and stop filtering their own unique coffee beans just to go with the flow. Please always be the person that you really are. I want to tell everyone that it's okay to go upstream. You don't always have to end up in the same position as others. And that's what makes this world colorful.
Don MacLeod
Best Asian Grocery store in the Twin Cities. Even if you are not interested in buying anything, it is a fun trip to go see all the different foods on the shelves. I love hearing the first time shoppers being in awe of what is available.
If you want a chopstick party, this is the place to get them. They not only sell food, they sell cooking utensils, pots and pans, dishes and everything you need to make a meal.
Fresh, dried, frozen and canned foods are available. They also can order something if you don't see it on the shelves.
Keith M
The food is delicious and you can shop for ingredients and utensils to make at home. Everything is labeled in English so you don't have to try to figure out what it is if you don't speak the native language. The staff are helpful and courteous. I've shopped United Noodles for 30 years.
Kirt Cousins
I like the place for buying snacks, drinks, ramen, different things I may need for cooking. I do agree it maybe a little pricey but good product. For the food I got the beef noodles and two tea eggs, and it was really good. I do think their menu is a bit small wish they had steamed buns; pork, chicken, and I wish not all of the ramen consisted of pork belly(I don’t eat pork), fried squid balls were really good.
Bye 😘
Mitch Toda
I keep coming back here because they have a very good Japanese grocery selection, both essentials and snacks. I can get just about everything here that I need to make my Japanese dishes at home.
I actually tried the ramen today at their store inside the market, and it was actually quite enjoyable! A little slower than I had hoped for the ramen to come out, but I was also there during Sunday lunch hour, so I think it was to be expected. Had the spicy miso ramen, which had a nice flavor to their broth (thick, though) and their chashu (pork) in the bowl was very good.
David Mattson
The ramen shop in here is one of my favorite. They do customary ramen very well and at a good price. I like being in the grocery store as well, a lot of really unique items you can’t get many other places, so it’s a great place to walk around after a delicious lunch or dinner.
Peter Jelinek
Love this place, widest selection of Asian foods in Minneapolis. Fresh vegetable section with some items not found in standard grocery stores. Meat section also has cuts like Korean beef ribs cut flanken style. There is a small Cafe in the store that sells ramen, noodle bowls, ribs etc. Very tasty.
Steve Rawlins
A mind-expanding experience for those open to new culinary ideas. Noodles, seaweed, miso, mochi, rice crackers and more. Be prepared to explore and bring your translator. Good prices on "regular" produce, too.
David Skarjune
A must go-to for Asian food ingredients by the thousands. Highly recommend the pork belly and shrimp in the butcher department. OH, and the only place I ever buy bean sprouts, fresh daily.
Valarie Griep
Anything you could dream of for an Asian meal is available here. There's an extensive selection of frozen, fresh, canned, packaged items from India, China, Japan, Korea and the Phillipines and more. It's not easy to find but I take the light rail or not too bad.
Eponine E
Fun Asian market with an incredible variety and good prices. Asian staff is dour but get the job done. In addition to groceries, they have some cooking items, a small bakery area and a skincare section.
Jason Kim
Great place to get asian groceries in the area! It has a large variety of items that range from Korean, Chinese, Thai, and other asian ingredients. There is a decent fresh produce area and there is a delicious food court you can purchase noodle dishes.
Kate L
Able to find most of what I need for SE Asian cooking here. Great variety at good prices. The produce is a little hit or miss and I was disappointed that i couldn't find Thai chilies here the other day. Would recommend! You'll find everything from pre-made dumplings to fish balls to ox tails to HUGE jars of kimchi. For me (who didn't grow up cooking authentic Asian food), it's always a bit of an adventure to wander the aisles and discover new foods.

I am going to give a 5 star review because this store is amazing and grocery staff is the sweetest. But here is the thing, the restaurant inside really made me upset. We drove 45 minutes to eat there and arrived at 5:45 {15 minutes before they closed} and they were all “cleaned up” and would not serve me and four hangry kids. Firstly, who closes at 6:00pm for dinner? My unsolicited advice is extend your hours and have some words with the restaurant manager.
DZmusic564 (numnumnum564)
Very cool. The ceiling and floor looks like it's from a wholesale grocrer. (Yes, i have been to one.) The food there is really unique. And they also have asian stuff for cooking, like woks.
David Tolkien
I like the grocery store. They have a nice and varied selection. The restaurant is okay. The food is so-so and it takes a really long time to get served. They have great local soda but no to-go cups. The last couple of times I have been disappointed and I was hoping that it was simply busy but no such luck. They admitted that the service was slow the time before and as such gave me a free lunch on my next visit. The next visit was again slow (not as slow) and the food tasted worse.
Probably wont come back. I have closer oriental grocery stores.
Brian Osweiler
Nice store, great selection and prices. It’s worth the trip if you don’t live near the store.

I would not be able to find ingredients at the markets in St. Paul or on University as I like to cook Japanese food mostly so I do like this place for that purpose. I did not give it 5 stars because they took away the sushi at the deli and the customer service is pretty bad there. Ordering food and waiting around for almost 30-45 mins is not my cup of tea. If you love customer service this isn't the place but if you are like me and just want your stuff..get in and get out then yes this place is good for it.
Traveling Annie
Very good meal except the cheap chopsticks they offer. Splinters in my fingers that hurt..
Scout Eichenberger
The outside looks a little bit weird and warehouse-ish but when you walk in it is instant fun. They sell your average Asian market goods, but if you come looking for interesting Asian snacks (ramune, candy, crunchy things) then you will find them!
Tina
It's getting less Chinese and more pan Asian which means the selection for each section has gone down. I'll likely go somewhere else for my groceries unless I'm looking for a Japanese item.
Jessa Cook
The restaurant within United Noodles market is amazing! Authentic flavors and simply delicious noodle bowls. Highly recommend. The fact that it is always crowded speaks volumes. Have been here on multiple occasions ... on this last trip I ordered a tofu Korean taco and was not really a fan of the piled on kimchi ... stick with any of the noodle bowls and you will not be disappointed. Staff were friendly and very helpful.
Jackie Bliss
Great grocery store! Has tons of sauces, noodles, and bulk rice! The exotic fruit selection is fresh and the staff is very friendly.
Sophia L.
They have all kinds of noodles, asian snacks, and little cool finds like cute sushi maker. Bring your own bag though because they do charge money for it.
Orrin Dabney
United Noodle is pretty much the defacto place in the twin cities to get any food that's from Asia Pacific. With a large focus on Chinese goods, you'll not be missing core items when searching for the ingredients for your next meal.
You'll also find a variety of Thai, South Korean and Japanese foods, drinks and health/beauty items.
I'd also recommend making it to their open cafeteria for a quick lunch. Good, fairly priced lunch foods with good portions.
The meat butchers also carry a wide variety of fish and meats as well. If you can't find what you are looking for, check the freezers. Pretty sure you'll locate the stock there in cold storage.
If it's your first time here, make sure you have plenty of time to dig through the shelves and explore.
They even carry durian fruit if you want to share at your company party.
Thuan Vo
Go there for grocery shopping is fine, but the food quality has gone way down. It was so much better 4-5 years ago. Maybe it's because I don't like Americanized ramen. Their musubi was REALLY salty. Their sticky rice dish was pretty good though.
Nancy Jo Austin
I hadn't been here for quite a while, so remembering where things were was a challenge. Luckily, the aisles are well marked, so I had very little trouble
rosejan33
It used to be a must-go on my grocery shopping routes. However, it has been deleted since few years ago they replaced the Asian food court to a very American-Japanese bistro, which sells you not so authentic sushi or beef noodles soup, and mixed more American food in the shelves. Still good but not so nice any more. I hope one day H Mart will open in twin cities.
Dave the Slave
The food here is extremely tasty!! I had the katsu pork as a main and I highly recommend it! My friends had the beef noodle soup and I could tell from the big smile on their faces that they were enjoying it as well! We also shared takoyaki as a starter, and that was extremely tasty. If you're in this area, I highly recommend to stop here and go grab some good lunch!
ML Hung
I been shopping since 2007, that’s a grocery store for convenience cooking customers like me, semi-prepared foods choices are just perfect. Well organized isles, if you we from
HK, Taiwan, Japan or Korea. I know Korean, Chinese and Vietnamese have their very own grocery stores, and they prefer to go there instead. I like it clean and have no fishy smells like a lot Asian grocery does. I enjoy environment like Byerlys and Whole Foods.
mai chang
I love this place! This Asian store has many things that I cannot find at my everyday Asian store. I go here if I want to make Korean or Japanese food. And let me tell you, they have a lot of yummy and cute things! The also have makeup brands there as well. The cashier are very nice people. There were times when I go and I give them big bucks and when the money comes back, they don't want to give me a couple of scents back, so sometimes they'll just give a dollar extra, Just because : DDDDD

Uni Deli is the best thing happened to United Noodles. All menu items are delicious and reasonably priced. Can't say the same about the grocery store. They are well stocked with all Asian variaties, but also comes with a big price tag.
Ben “Yung Hinoki” Wu
I love this place I probably am there way too often. I gave it a 4 stars, because I don’t think the restaurant has that great of food. Really disappointed actually, the beef noodle soup was horrendous. Super greasy, not very fresh like Taiwanese food. Maybe because I’m Taiwanese, but I could whip up something way better than that myself. Oh, and the katsu also sucks, super tiny, chewy, just bulldog sauce. The grocery store is great though, was able to find pretty obscure stuff. Definitely more of a high asian grocery store, clean, lots of chinese Korean Japanese Taiwanese products and fairly stocked most the time and pretty inexpensive.
J X
Great variety of foods and relevant items. The fresh produce is always _amazing_ quality at reasonable prices!
Tanya Degurechaff
Great variety and quality meat and produce. I will definitely be coming back. Bubble tea inside was a huge bonus.
M W
From their beginnings 30 years ago, this had turned into a nice business. They're managed to expand their food offerings to encompass various countries in Asia. Their vegetables always look fresh and it's always fun to experiment with things that you have never tried before
Steven Schmitt
Local go to place for all you Asian grocery needs. Nice selection, decent prices. Definitely the place to go if you're making that certain stir fry dish that asks for that strange ingredient you've never heard of... They'll have it at this place.
David Enyeart
This is probably the best Asian grocery store in the Cities. It's well-organized and stocks food from China, Japan, and Korea. There's also a good selection of fresh vegetables.
Molly Quigley
My favorite large Asian store to shop at, just wish it was closer to my house. They have a little restaurant inside that looks really good- haven’t had a chance to eat there yet but plan to someday!
Charlie Kelley-Pegg
Great place to find new things to try! Incredibly affordable and close by. A bit hard to locate on the first try but worth it once you do!
Mary Arneson
This Oriental grocery store has been a favorite of ours for more than 30 years. It offers a wide selection of Chinese, Japanese, Indonesian, and Southeast Asian ingredients, as well as fresh vegetables, frozen items like filled dumplings, meat and fish, and cooking and serving implements. There are entire rows of soy, chili, hoisin and other sauces. Rice is available in many varieties and in large quantities. It's easy to find unusual types such as black or red rice. The tofu selection covers everything from extra firm to silky, as well as baked and dried options. It's also the best place to find dark chocolate sprinkles, the Dutch hagelslag, that really taste like chocolate. They carry two brands in both milk and dark types.
Sydney Grace
I love this place. They have a fantastic produce selection. This is the only store I know of that carries the mushrooms, fruit, and fresh herbs I find here. Its a bonus that there is a rameb deli in the center! I only wish there were more vegan ramen options at the Unideli. Also, one part of the store smells very badly of fish. Aside from that, this is my special grocer where I go to get ingredients for my favorite meals.
Cheryl Sellers
The food here is always delicious. The menu changes, so there is always variety. It is inside the Asian Foods grocery and we always have fun looking through the aisles and buying something if we need it or want to try it out.
Vishnu Priya
A bit expensive compared to the Asian grocery in frog town neighborhood. But they do have a good assortment of snacks that can’t be found elsewhere.
V Y
Great selection of Asian foods - if I need Japanese or Korean stuff that's not available in a typical Asian grocery then this place usually has it.
Craig Gjerdingen
One of the best Asian stores in town. Great noodles, great fish (mostly frozen). Wonderful selection of sauces and all you'll need for Japanese, Korean, and Chinese.
J Higgins
If I need it ... it is there. The only place I can get prawns with the heads on. Parking is unique. Staff helpful when needed. Not my favorite drive b/c it involves 3 congested hwy systems for me. So I have to plan a trip. Otherwise quite wonderful.
Dion Leung
Hope they’ll have more Hongkongnese items
Chandra Cockrell
That have a great varity of Asian food, mostly Japanese.
Deborah Tafil
I adore United Noodles! They carry so many varieties of different sauces from so many different Asian countries - it's amazing! I always like wandering around the little 'gift' area I call it, dishes, figurines, kitchenware, etc. They have interesting and fresh vegetables and fruits too.
Gregory Hayes
United Noodle is the best hole-in-a-wall spot to get delicious noodle combos (specific names of dishes elude me).
The staff are nice and eager to help with recommendations, because the average Joe like me has no idea what he wants.
I would prefer to give this spot 4.5 stars only because the price is on the steep side--around $15 a dish, though its arguably worth every penny.
Definitely worth a go, plus the oriental grocery inside has excellent selections.
Kayti Decay
What can I say about United Noodles. You can see it on my face as I enter the store, gleefully grab a cart and start dreaming aloud as I walk through the aisles. Always sauces first. They have everything, and are useful for cooking for dietary restrictions, gluten free or vegan, get staples like vegetarian hoisin and vegetarian oyster sauce, then get noodles of all shapes and sizes, giant bag of rice, then onto glorious produce. Don't even get me started on the cookery section, I impulse-bought a Hot Pot. Excellent produce, fresh noodles, bright green aromatics. Freezer section has some of the most unique vegan proteins around, and they have egg free dumpling wraps for when I'm too lazy to make my own. The restaurant at the center of the store is excellent, sit down for a bowl of ramen before you shop so you don't spend $200 shopping hungry.
Leika Schmidt
My favorite part about this store is that it has some rare brands. I typically shop here once every other month to get my Asian goodies. I would say the price is a little higher than in other places, but the variety will make up for it!
B Johnson Photos Brenda Johnson
The restaurant inside this Asian grocery store, Unideli, is awesome. Do not miss out on their ramen - it's excellent. Additionally they have just about every food item you would want or need to prepare any thing "Asian".
Rachel Zubrzycki
I'm usually shopping at United Noodles for Instacart, and I always have a difficult time finding what the customers want. There are many many varieties and brands of dumplings and buns to search through. If I can find someone to help me I'm fine, but if I can't I'm sunk. They do seem to have a great selection though.
Marsh Jones
It's not Uwajimya in Seattle, but not much is. United Noodles has a great produce department, speciality meats and seafood, dry goods from several cultures, but the grocery is where they shine! Noodles, sauces, spices, teas and rice from all of the major Asian cultures, plus a while variety of sweets, Staples and specially items you won't find elsewhere. A lot of the small Asian markets in town buy wholesale here. Prices are very good.
Matt Sjelin
My wife and I love stopping here every time we're in Minneapolis. We always get a handful of things we haven't tried before, plus it is our go-to supply for quite a few ingredients in our home. On top of that, of course, we love the deli!
Melanie Daas
I didn't even think I liked ramen, but this was so YUMMY!
The smaller menu also makes it easier to select if you're a newbie. The location is unassuming but I promise you won't be disappointed with this hole in the wall restaurant!
ASZBLE SMITH
I love United Noodles! My favorite place to go to stock up on Asian food. They have everything: noodles, sauces, fresh produce (including hard to find in the US fruits and veggies), snacks, meats, frozen goods, etc. Its really well priced too! They also have a restaueant in store that I recommend trying out, the ramen is amazing!
Mike
Awesome food and awesome store. This is the go to place for all sorts of hard to find asian food grocer items.
Only thing lacking is there access to meat and fish; so going to Coastal and hitting up a local butcher for the fish and meat would be a great idea.
Carlus Dingfelder
I go for Unideli's awesome menu, but I always end up making a grocery run too. The eat-in/take-out menu is wonderful and tasty. The selection of brands for all your cooking needs is wide and they should carry the one that has the flavor you're looking for.
Tyler Hilligoss
Amazing establishment with friendly staff and helpful social media. They care about their community and the quality of their goods and the safety of their staff and patrons. Don't forget to grab some boba tea from machi machi while you're there!
sunil puranik
Pros
# Lot of options
# exotic stuff
# nice deli
Cons
# could be a little well priced.
This place might be the best shop around downtown Minneapolis to buy asian grocery. You can find most of the Indian/Japanese/Chinese groceries that you would need to cook a tasty meal.
Danna Bergantine
This place has a really big variety of Asian groceries. For example, I could find okonomiyaki sauce, which I haven't found elsewhere. It's fun to browse the aisles, too.
Abby Roza
Shelf stable groceries, fresh veggies and a frozen section. Foods from multiple cultures are available.
Can be hard to find your first time. Drive into the parking lot (past the back of the mosque on your left and the seafood stores on your right) as you go deeper in the parking lot, you'll see united noodle on your right.
b n
kind of tucked away, but it's your go to asian grocery store in mpls when you're sick of the neighborhood supermarkets' basic selection. been shopping there since the 90s. they have all the imported goods you need for the perfect asian fix at home.
Matisse May
So popular that they need more registers! So many options for everything. Employees are nice. Clean store.
Matt Hallacy
A great place to find truly authentic Asian foods. I was amazed at the selection and the small restaurant inside was great.
Bhaskar Ravishankar
An amazing store with lots of oriental food and grocery options. One of the best things I saw was the superb assortment of dried and fresh mushrooms, shitake, enochi, oyster, trumpet and several others were inexpensive but also incredibly fresh! It also has a good deli but only 3 vegetarian options on the menu. My friend ordered a fried tempeh sandwich and loved it. The grocery is fresh and also has great produce.
An interesting fact is that this place has a massive array of frozen meats, dim sum, spring rolls, vegan meats, ramen and other assorted products.
Nicholas Zimet
Always great to stock up on so many exciting products that I never knew omi needed until i saw them!
Kelly Estrella
Great Asian grocery options you're not going to get in a general grocery store. Also the only place in the Twin Cities that we can acquire a few Hawaiian products.
Benjamin Rattle
First visit to this place was surprisingly enjoyable. So many ingredients here that we haven't been able to find at other similar grocery stores. We came around dinner and we're lucky enough to grab a bite at the Unideli, which closes earlier than the rest of the story at 6pm. Enjoyed some tasty tea eggs and ramen.
Snow
United Noodles has been around since 1979. They have a wonderful assortment of foods from Asian countries. Fresh, frozen and dry. Looking for Ramen they have it all from mild to firey hot. There is a casual restaurant. Try their curry plate its very good. Want to make your own dishes or can't find what you need a regular grocery store they got it. They also sell eating utensils to rice cookers.
Charles C
The gyudon is very good. That's what I get whenever I go to Japanese restaurants and it's comparable to others I've tried. One downside is how long it takes for the food to come out. They also seem to have a lot of issues with their electronic menu above the cash register.
Brett Hebert
WEIRDNESS ABOUNDS. Maybe the best ramen spot in the Twin Cities, and it's shoved in the middle of a random Asian grocery store that is an absolute nightmare to find (road construction forces you to essentially drive down what looks like a loading dock to reach the front door). But this place is worth hunting down; if you can find it, you'll be treated to a fair-priced ramen bowl that checks off all the boxes. I can't stress enough how odd it is to actually find the front door of this place, and once you do, you have to navigate aisles of specialty Japanese soft drinks and Korean spices, etc., until you come upon the counter service. Coming here felt like the plot line from a Broad City episode.
Dee Emm
United Noodle is like Whole Foods of Asian food. Their selection is breathtaking with offerings from Korea, Thailand, Japan, Vietnam, and China. Fresh and frozen vegetables and fruits, quail eggs, duck eggs, fresh and packaged rice noodles, dozens of mochi treats, seasonings including fresh lemongrass, lime leaves, the most impressive aisle of soy sauce I've ever seen and much more. I'll be back!
T K
Large selection of fish, poultry, and meats that you can't get anywhere else. Atmosphere was like a global mom & pop store. So many different options from Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Thai, Vietnamese and more.
Lillian Magidow
Store has become very expensive, but has hard to find stuff. I've been coming here since it was a warehouse with a walk in freezer! Uni deli is overrated IMO. Love the Japanese and Korean grocery selection though.
Kelsey Berg
My go-to Asian Grocer in the Twin Cities. I especially have a weakness for their kitchen utensils section. Having spent lots of time in Japan, it's very nice to be able to recreate some wonderful recipes here in the states.
Abbie Elrod
I love it here! Been going for years and the amazing food so much fun to try out. Something new every time. The produce is really great, I love getting new fruits I can't find at normal supermarkets
A K
This place is definitely over rated. There's not much available in this store. I've had more options produce and Asian food wise in the Oriental store in Burnsville. Anyway, if you're looking for a lot of quick fix ramen and other cup noodles then this is the place to go.
There's a restaurant in this store which is not bad. I tried their ramen and it was nothing to brag about.. probably my expectations were to high..
Amanda Dondelinger
Very clean. Easy to find durian in freezer. Nice presentation. Easy check-out.
You must turn left onto the alley from the street and follow back between the buildings. You will see United Noodles written large on building ahead of you after you turn down short alley / driveway. It is on your right.
Andrew Larson
A good variety of Asian foods. It is recently becoming more gentrified which is sad. Used to be a good restaurant inside but now it is a place for $8 bubble teas.
Eric Ebbesen
One-stop shop for south and southeast Asian goods (food, medicine, light home goods, utensils) plus a pretty good eat in restaurant. Prices on many items (greens, tofu, kimchi) may be cheaper than Cub or even Aldi. You want dozens of instant noodles varieties originating from Japan to Indonesia? This is the place. More Indian curry pastes than any Twin Cities store that's not an Indian grocer. And Caribbean spices. And Japanese candies and snacks. Pick up a loyalty card for more savings!
Richard B
If you haven't found this Asian grocery store your really missing a great experience. Along with store they have a wonderful restaurant also. Looking forward to going back soon.
Sandra S-L
I love their food, mind you. Today was an off day I'm hoping.
Pork was dry and the bread was tough in the pork bao. The dramen was hot and spicy, but again, tough pork belly.
Service is usually good. Like I said, it was an off day.
Tré Johns
If I'm ever looking for an ingredient that I know I won't be able to find at a Target or cub, this is the place I go. United Noodles is basically a wonderland of all kinds of global foods that you just can't get anywhere else stateside. Sometimes it's honestly just fun to stop by for the ramen bar and just browse the products.
Jack Tauring-Traxler
Great selection of produce and pantry items! If I need something to make sushi I'm going here first.
Wachooba
There is a man in the meat department that is not a happy person, he's quite impatient for you to talk to him, and he does not project happy vibes. I truly wish we could interact with pleasant people in the meat dept, because everybody else here is really great.
Also, this place should take some lessons from the markets in Boston, Seattle, and Honolulu. In comparison, this place is a dirty mess. We travel a lot, and when we do we always visit the Asian markets, UN has a lot of catching up to do.
Bill
Come here if you need Asian grocery's?
Huge selection of everything Asian. Great prices. And they have an excellent menu any there Cafe!
Nisha Yang
This place is in a very secluded area so if you're not familiar with this area it might be hard to find. They have lots of good snacks and candy. Everything is more expensive than other oriental stores. It's a clean and organized store. I only go here if I visit my mom in the area and didn't want to drive to st.paul. lol.. They also have a wall of new year envelope and cute stuff toys. Over all, it's an ok place if you live in the area and don't want to drive far.
M L
Decent grocery store. Has Japanese and Korean focus so has stuff the Chinese/Viet stores don't. Deli is massively overhyped. Edible food usually but the crowds are stupid on weekends for subpar ramen. Maybe people haven't realized there are other options now.
Mister Gone
The stock and selection vary but there is always something delicious and new to try. The staff is friendly and the food is great. I can not recommend this local gem more.
Colleen Werner
The selection is AMAZING and the prices are pretty decent. I mostly come here for snack foods.
One of the downsides is that the layout can be confusing. While working for Instacart, I was sent here a few times and had a hard time finding specific items until one of my coworkers mentioned it's divided up by country of origin, not necessarily product type. Not a bad system, but a bit frustrating when you've been sent to get a specific brand of soy sauce and you don't know if it's Korean or Chinese.
Another downside is that there's no produce scale. When customers asked for specific weights of something, the guy behind the meat counter let me use the butcher scale, but you can't expect him to do that for everyone.
It's also not immediately noticeable from the road, but there is some signage.
Lovely Thao
This eatery inside the United Noodles store has an amazing and delicious array of ramen noodles to choose from. They have an extensive menu on a lit flat screen behind the cash register and seating is by choice. I love that they do an indoor luau every year and even theme their menu during this celebration. Definitely check out the rest of the store after having your fill at the eatery. ^_^
Rheanna Konken
This review is for the Unideli, and it only got 4 stars because I still like the grocery. The deli was a 1.5 rating.
This place is not the same anymore. This used to be our favorite ramen place, we would get the dramen and it used to be so amazing and flavorful. Now you're getting an expensive bowl with little to no flavor. Got rid of the Korean chicken wings, and the spam musubi is made into a roll now. Not a very good rice to spam ratio. The egg was cooked well but it was so salty. Not sure what happened, but this place used to have a more "authentic" vibe. Now it just seems like they started worrying more about being trendy and less about the food. 🙁
Gwen Clayton
Best asian market in minneapolis
Mawrgyn Roper
Best pan Asian market around. Unideli is great and now they have a bigger grab and go section. Unique produce at a fair price. Every kind of noodle you'd ever need.
Ailany Ceron
The food was pretty tasty but it lacks of tables, I had to wait for half an hour to get one and then the wait for my food was even longer.
Aaron Cumbie
Great selections of foods. Outside may look small, but it's HUGE when you get inside. So many fresh Fruits and Veggies, Fish, and Seafood. Nicely organized. And simple shopping.
Dawn Hatlen
I don't have enough words to express my love for this store. Even the staff that can't speak English are cool about communicating with pictures if you happen to be shopping for Instacart. Once you get the hang of it, it's a very organized and tidy store.
Caleb Nelson-Lange
Great location that always has an awesome variety of groceries. So much to look at here. It's a shame that the deli is still closed but not much you can do during covid.
Mari Marks
Went to United Noodles for the first time today for lunch, around 12. It was packed but we didn't have to wait very long for our food. I tried the pork buns and Dramen Ramen. Both were amazing! The pork was crispy and tender, super flavorful.
For the buns, I was expecting the mean to be inside them, but the bun was shaped like a taco. Really great combo of flavors of the cucumbers, sauce and pork.
The Dramen bowl was really good. I couldn't eat it all in one sitting so I saved it for later. It was really nice that they had to go containers (paper not plastic!) ready to go at the counter where you get your utensils. This way you didn't have to go back in line and wait to get one. The dramen was a little spicy, and i wasn't expecting any spice, but looking at the menu again it did say chili oil and chili flakes. I would still get this again, I got used to the spice - or it faded after the first bite.
After eating we explored the grocery area, they have a lot to chose from, I wish I knew what to do with all of the ingredients. We picked out some treats, ice cream and pastries to try. Can't wait to go back.
MissSeaFood
Favorite place to shop, the ramen place in the middle is cheap but ok. I dont feel outed by employees when I buy 20 dragon fruit. Theirs isnt the best ive had but if they have yellow dragon fruit make sure to grab some and try it.
Quentin Smith
This is a review on the grocery store items you can find. I have never eaten at the restaurant inside but I hear it is delicious.
I usually go to united noodles for.. Of course.. Instant noodles. I don't know how price compares but you can find some very good cheap instant noodles. This is miles better than instant ramen brands like maruchan. If you don't know what to try I would recommend the MAMA brand (pork flavor in yellow bags) or Indomie (my opinion the best instant noodle there is, try mi goreng hit and spicy or regular mi goreng)
They have a wider variety of spices, sauces, and instant mixes than other Asian stores I've been to. By wider variety I mean they have the stuff you can find at Cub foods but also have types from lesser known cuisines such as Malaysian and Indonesian.
While I do like this place and gave it four stars I am never able to get everything I want from this store. I am half Chinese and need specific things to make certain meals my mom and grandma would make. For these special things (certain vegetables and specific brand rice noodles, etc) I usually go down university and visit stores until I find these special items.
Zack Balcum
The best authentic Ramen I've ever had - Plus the attached grocery store has an AMAZING selection of asian foods and herbs - we got an 8 oz bag of lavender for like 3 dollars, AND quail eggs!
PJ Maracle
Love United Noodles! So happy to be able to get the ingredients I can get here! The produce and meat department seem a lot better than they used to be, and the UniDeli has such good ramen and Korean wings!
Jason Math
What a great conglomeration of multiple Asian grocery areas all in one store. All the basics from big box commercial producers including sections specializing in Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Cambodian, Thai, Hawaiian, etc. They offer everything you need to set up for home sushi production (minus the super fresh sashimi grade fish, which you will find nearby at Coastal Seafoods). They offer fresh and frozen fish and specialty Asian meats that are more authentic than you will find at most Midwest grocers, without the live frogs and other "specialty" items that are a little too authentic for this small-town Minnesota boy.
The in-house restaurant counter is a nice bonus where you can pick up a fresh hot made-to-order soup, app, or entrée to take the edge off until you get home to create your own.
Knowledgeable friendly staff who are quick to help, or direct you to another employee who can.
Denise Liu
Very organized & full of hard-to-resist snacks, sauces, drinks! Nice selection fresh Asian produce. Stop for lunch at UniDeli but come early.
armin brueckner
Be ready to spend $20 for noodles and a drink. Once you accept how much you are going to spend, you can enjoy an amazing bowl of Ramen.
Every component is excellent and put together with a deep and complex broth. I've been twice and will go again.
Alan Wolff
This is a pan Asian grocery store. With products from all over Asia Korea, Japan, China, Thailand, Cambodia; groceries and an on-site kitchen with seating available.
Knowledgeable and very helpful staff. And take the time to educate you on the products that they have available.
Many different varieties of soy sauce from Kikkoman, Kimlam, which is my favourite Soy sauce, the champagne of soy sauce as far as I am concerned.
Noodles of all sorts, made of different ingredients, dried goji berries, canned and fresh lychee when they are in season. Many herbs and spices, watercress, Curry red and green and varying sweetness and heat to tickle the pallet.
Plenty of free parking. In the neighborhood just off of a main Street Minnehaha Avenue.
Very good inexpensive costs as well.
Mark Hurley
All I have to say is I love this grocery shop 😍 you can always get any thing from Asia here! …
Justin Latvamaki
Great place to get your imported food items, however they are constantly upgrading and remodeling so finding some regular items can be fun if you don't visit monthly
Tiffany Cheng
one of the best and only asian markets in Minneapolis/st paul area that offers very decent asian groceries, snacks, and dried goods. staff members are very nice as well!
Joe Williams
The staff are very willing to help you locate the items that you are looking for if you're looking for something specific. I'm very clean very open to the public

Definitely best options in Minnesota... Missing a few Japanese drinks and Candy's I miss from actual Japan. Ramen used to be my favorite since moving back to the States but in the past couple years has really gone down hill. Which is super sad.
Eric Bohjanen
I mean seriously. They have Noodles there. And they are United. Couldn't ask for much more. Especially since they have pork belly and other delicious snack items in addition to noodle bowls. The shopping is superb. Get to stock up on all of my Asian goods while I'm in town. As good or better than any other Asian grocery store I've been to around the States. Have yet to get skunked when looking for obscure items like ten thousand year old preserved duck eggs for congee (aka Jook for the common folk)
Lindsay Woolward
I've been coming here for years for the phenomenal selection of imported good, but the deli counter has really taken off in recent years with fantastic ramen and small plates. Definitely try that takoyaki (savory octopus balls) or taiyaki (sweet dessert pastries).
bethany kelly
This place is phenomenal. So unassuming, but you can find the craziest stuff here. A MUST for any Asian food lover.
And do yourself a favor and order some Dramen from the deli as soon you get in!
Leah Enter
Absolutely loved my experience here. Had everything I needed and more. The selection available is amazing and the staff are very friendly. I live so close and can’t believe this was my first trip. Highly recommend.
chadd gaither
Probably the best Asian grocery in the state. The deli is great too and has a rotating menu, if they're available get the korean style gochujang chicken wings.
Diwakar Athreya Sethu Ganga
Crowded on weekends. But authentic Asian grocery stores. Have different sections for Vietnamese, Chinese and Japanese cuisine. The sit down deli is a wonderful addition.
SAMMIIDA M.
The grocery store deserve the 4 star but definitely not the UnitedDeli/restaurant. Do not get deceive by the look of the food it is not all that great. They are not organize and unprofessional as well. I had ordered the Dramen for my husband, the Beginner Ramen for my daughter, and Takoyaki and Katsu Pork for myself. The guy even asked if I had said Katsu Pork and I said "Yes", yet he still got my order wrong. They brought out us this other dish, its like glazed pork which we thought had came with the ramen either for my husband or my daughter. After awhile of not receiving my Katsu Pork I had went up to tell them that I didn't receive my Katsu Pork and did not want it no more if I could just get a refund. They checked my waiting number and said they didn't charge me the Katsu pork and that was it, they didn't even apologize for getting my order wrong or anything they just left it at that.....and so did I because there was a line behind me and I didn't want to stall the people behind me so I just left it at that as well. I definitely thought that was rude and unprofessional of them.

Good place to find specialty Asian groceries. Instant noodles, Asian snacks, sauces, hot pot supplies, vegetables, teas, Asian soup supplies, and a lot more!
Carl
Beef noodle was great for a cold day. It's pretty cheap, and there's also an Asian supermarket for anything you need nearby. Convenient and quick eat if you're craving Asian food.
Amber Strawn
This is my favorite place to shop for instant ramen and other Asian delicacies in the Cities. Go for lunch or dinner and try the deli, you won't regret it. Char siu, Ramen, Rice, and other delicious options!
Dehang Zheng
Amazing asian grocery store. This is one of a kind here in the TC. I mostly come here for the cafe food since the grocery items are typically more expensive here. The ramen is pretty decent and the korean fried chicken wings are my favorite here. We need more stores like this. This is also the cleanest and friendliest asian grocery store in MN.
Dave Inselmann
My son is from China. We love going here and buying items that remind him of where he was born.
Nick Kirby
Great selection of all sorts of food. The hot food section is pretty great, and they have a ton of foreign snacks and dumplings (which are the two things that tend to fill our baskets when were there).
Ini Augustine
I don't know what to say. Service at the noodle shop was amazing, the beef noodle soup was underwhelming. Broth not as savory as idI jave liked, & beef was tough & stringy. I had the kokatsu, & it was interesting. I was expecting actual fried octopus , & it was more like a friend dumpling with occasional pieces of octopus. Was quite good, but not what I was expecting.
Roxy Santa Ana
Can be a hit or miss but I still go here!
Kim B
They have Asian delicacies...
Ryan Choi
This is the second time I have been to United Noodles, the first was to go to unideli for ramen, which was amazing! I have since then come back for picking up groceries for the Japanese dishes I have been practicing. They have pretty much everything I need.
Connor Hills
I ordered the dramen ramen. Good flavor, but the half-boiled egg was cold and smothered in pepper, ramen hardly warm, and all of the dishes at our table were brought out 5-10 minutes apart. The room was packed, I'd like to come back when there are fewer people, if there is a packed room then the quality and timing of service can suffer.
Nate Haleen
My wife found a ton of stuff she'd been longing for, but this time they were missing a lot of her staples like okonomiyaki sauce
Ezekiel
Always knowledgeable and helpful staff. The produce here is the freshest in the city! Very clean and diverse environment. It’s become my first choice as a grocer.
Candice Seppa Arroyo
Best selection of noodles, pot stickers and frozen steam buns. Small selection of fresh fruit and vegetables. Organic tofu with a case discount.
Alan Kelly
Decent asian market. The restaurant needs some work. The ramen is always gross. Noodles are overcooked and the broth always comes out lukewarm. That combination makes it feel like I'm consuming a gelatinous sludge.
Amanda
My favorite store !! I drive an hour and a half to shop here ! The in store restraunt is amazing as well and pretty authentic. The place is amazing , I love the selection , the meat is top of the line so is the produce.
JS Minich
This is an awsome place to get all the foreign spices that are hard to find in an American store. You can get spices and products for half of the price. You can try new foods without having to leave the country such as chicken Cheetos only found at un.
Rob Piper
Great Asian market lots of choices, nice fresh veggies. The lady who checked me out was awesome and even let me have a plastic crate to take my stuff home in!
Naomi Thyden
The best place I have found in the cities for Japanese products, and of course the deli is amazing. The grocery items are much cheaper here, for instance you can get tofu for about a dollar.
Dave Smith
This place is amazing. The cleanest asian store I have ever been in. Lots of product and cookware. We'll be back!
Patrick MacDonald
Love the selection of shopping here and head the best mango in the past year from here (5 stars for grocery). I wasn't a big fan of the restraunt inside though. The food was a bit bland and priced higher than I felt it was worth.
A. J.
Great assortment of Oriental products, seafood, imported sweet treats and snackies, many types of flour, wide variety of spices and many other products we can't find elsewhere.
Emily Geyer
I got a vegetarian version of the ramen dish in the food court, which is usually made with pork (not kosher or halal). And it was spectacular. They have an awesome selection on almost anything you're looking for from China, Japan, Korea, Taiwan and probably more. I found aloe drink, red bean paste buns, frozen lychees and yakisoba noodles with some matcha kit Kats and matcha latte packets too.
Sam Stokley
Incredible selection. Quick ready to eat options at the front. Great prices for kitchenware too. AND Unideli has the best ramen in town. Big parking lot.
Michael Wrona
I saw the deli on TV and decided to try it out. The wait was about an hour for noodle dishes, but that was because it was pretty busy and everybody wanted noodles/ramen. I passed the time by looking around the grocery store. The kimchi noodles and beef noodles were worth the wait. Overall, the food was good, the staff was friendly, and would recommend it for good authentic ramen/noodles in MPLS.
Satoru “San” Asato
Probably still the best Asian grocery store for variety and volume of Asian groceries. Uni Deli also has one of the best, if not the best, Japanese style ramen noodles (shoyu and tonkotsu) in Twin Cities.
Jaimie “WhoRae” Pugh
Its a big place decent variety only thing is the little restaurant said they ran out of rice(?🤔🤨)no bubbles for bubble tea(?) They are inside a huge store full of both items...but they did make the effort to make my order we were happy with them in the end.. …
Frank Wiles
Great Asian food store. Grab a big Daikon when there. Made yaki daikon, great end to a good day.
Amie Kranz
Great selection of product in the grocery area. Been going here since I moved to MN. Only critique is that their food execution in the Uni Deli has been extremely inconsistent - specifically the ramen broths.
Tracy Johnson
Looks dumpy from the outside but quite nice and huge inside. Have all departments - bakery, produce, fresh meats, grocery, frozen, etc. including a little dishware/gift area.
Dan Lipa
As an English only speaking patron it was tough to find several items. Most packages are authentic and therefore have few English words. Produce was fresh and they had a great meat and seafood selection.
Elaine Holli
Great selection of food and grocery! I found some of my favorite brands I've been missing from Taiwan. I'll definitely be coming back.
Margarita Ortega (Rita Ortega)
Wonderful friendly staff. Our family loves this Asian market!
Bill Kaiser
Any of the more obscure ingredients of Asian cuisine that you can't find at a standard grocery store this place has and its cheap. They serve great ramen too.
Dan Macal
Amazing selection. The only place to go for good Asian groceries.
Jaren J
If need a completely new kind of ramen or teas you need to Google or an energy drink with no English on the label or candy in flavors you've never heard of, this place will make you weak in the knees.
Vang Xiong
Miso Ramen was pretty good and about average in taste and quality. My only complaint if I had to be more critical is my bowl of ramen was slightly saltier then ideal. Definitely a good place to enjoy a bowl of hot ramen in winter.
Jess
I usually try to make a trip every few weeks. They have just about everything you need to throw a ramen party (narutomaki, menma), plus other items like umeboshi, thin-sliced meats for shabu shabu and sukiyaki, and an incredible selection of what seems like every type of noodle imagineable.
Ben Sakschek
You never know what you might find in stores like these. For example, when I first visited this store, I bought a bag of Dorayaki, which are mini pancakes stuffed with sweet red bean paste. Surprisingly good.
Another thing they sold is Durian, which is an exotic fruit from southeast Asia. Known for it's unique odor, flavor, and texture, Durian is something you will either really love or really hate. (Fun Fact: Andrew Zimmern hates Durians but Anthony Bourdain loves them)
Urban RoninX
Love this place! Great variety from every part of asia. Great ramen and cafe to go dishes. Also produce that you wont find in a normal market.
Chao Moua
Great quality and i can find most of what I need there, especially if I'm looking for japanese products. Good instant ramen selection, good tea selection, and more!
Onelikethesteve
Awesome store! Had so much stuff, could spend a lot of time and money there!
Reed Saunders
Huge selection! And pretty good prices too. The staff is helpful and there are so many interesting foods from all over Asia.
Evan Holmstrom
Haven't been to United Noodles before? Do you ❤LOVE❤ ramen? Is it before 6:00 p.m? Stop what you're doing and go there right now! United Noodles has seriously tasty ramen done right with many styles and flavors. Did I mention it's inside an awesome grocery store? Well, guess what: it is! Go there, eat ramen, be happy.
Justin Peter
Hidden gem. Not fancy but the ramen was excellent. Restaurant is inside the Asian grocery store. Grocery selection is huge. Worth the trip!
Jason Wolf
Wide selection of all types of Asian foods, and personal care products. Suppliers too many local stores, so prices are good and they have a restaurant serving up really good lunches.
Brandon Brantner
I love United Noodle. They have so much that I have never tried. I go through the freezer and pick out anything that goes in the steamer and then have a steam party with friends. So much cheaper than paying at a dim sum restaurant.
Tou Vang
Not a lot of varieties to choose from. Over all its okay
Ja l
Great shopping experience!!! It's a hidden gem for cultural foods.
Michael
Best place to find Asian groceries in Minneapolis and St. Paul. Sea food market across street makes great combo. Stop at inside cafe for good comfort food.
Ben Overmyer
The best Asian grocery I've ever been to. Has a great selection, a wonderful little café with excellent food, and is the cleanest such store I've ever been in.
