This is the perfect place to shop when you are looking for seasonal fruits and very affordable stuffs. They sell mostly stuff that are near or past the due date also overstock from other stores. I mostly buy fruits and veggies there the cashiers are nice and patient. Keep in mind when you go there that they don't bag your items so be prepared or just pick up a box there to put your groceries in.

Love this place! Food at a discount, some of it is near or past its best by date, just perfectly good food after that date has passed. Free, available parking, right across from the Dairy Queen.
Deals here are amazing! You can get big salad bags for a $1 to $3. I just got a 24-count of yellow peppers in mint condition for $7.99. I got a 60 count candy bars of world's finest chocolates for $12.99. I also got an 8 count of drinkable Greek yogurt $1.99

I go to Mike's regularly. There's always a variety of items, sometimes I like and purchase more than other times, but the pricing is always the best part. It's good to be aware of expiration dates and open packaging, especially when buying meat or dairy products, but it's nice to know these things are being used rather than just adding to landfills. A lot of times, things are just bought by bigger stores in abundance and they're in perfect condition but couldn't sell fast enough or are out of season.
I'm also being introduced to products I wouldn't normally purchase but am willing to try because I'm interested but they're much more affordable here! And since there's not always the same things offered, you never know what you might discover. I absolutely recommend trying out this Fridley location, I tell friends, family, and clients at work about it! Just make sure to bring your own bags, though there are some boxes available to take your items home.

Half the stuff is expired, but that doesn't mean the food is unsafe or bad. It's just part the label. It's the perfect place to go for food you want to eat today or in the next couple days.
For instance, they may have a 1lb package of strawberries which may be $4.99 or 5.99 at a nearby grocery store like Cub or Target, but they have a deal for 2 for $5. Or during peak harvest, $1 for a 1lb package.
Now, some have mold, but if you check through the clamshell plastic cases you can find good ones without any mold, and then eat them that day for DELICIOUS ripe flavor. And then if you cut/freeze them, they are perfect. Way better than the underripe ones you would have bought at Cub/Target. But, you can't buy them and keep them for a week. They'd mold by then.
Other things like cereal may be expired, but my maybe a week or a month or few months?
You learn to recognize what you want and what you don't want for expiration dates.
But plenty of amazing prices, just have to be ok with not having everything they sell be still in it's prime.
But where else can you get apples for $.99/lb? Pretty much year round?
The apples alone keep me coming back.

Best store ever for me because they have some awesome fruit varieties. This store carry some very different and nice snacks. I love the Salmon and the Boca Burgers.

Prices are good, but many products are past expiration (still usable). Not a lot of options for me personally, due to dietary restrictions. Great deals on bulk products.

The prices are amazing! Name brands for super cheap. There is a good amount of vegan products here such as plant based milks, beyond burgers, and others.

Make sure to bring your own bags, they have some boxes, but I wouldn't count on it. Some great deals, some not. Bring a cooler, I found deals on meat, and didn't have one. Check ads.. some items may be expired or close, so know what you can get away with. Fresh vegetables and fruit are there.. got to be picky though. Overall a good haul and helps with the inflated prices of.... EVERYTHING!

This is a funny discount grocery store. Each time it has different type foods. You need to watch the expiration dates. We go because it has GLUTEN FREE items. You need to bring your own grocery bags! Last time we went we found many meat items highly discounted.

Check for freshness and understand what an expiration date actually means and this place is great. Cheap food that's (almost always) really good.
