Reviews of Linden Hills Co-op
Chris
Every now and then I'm reminded of why I don't shop here more often. After all it's close, has a good produce section, good bulk section too, including bulk spices which is a great way to save money. But when it gets busy, Sunday for sure, the angry granola monsters come out and wreak havoc on my shopping experience. "Hey, Chief, there's a line," says a disgruntled checker. First there were no queues, then there were queues during the halcyon days of the pandemic, then I was angrily told to stop queueing, and now they use disparaging terms to make us use the queue, after which the next three granola monster shoppers simply walk right up to the registers, effectively cutting in line, and the checkers say nothing. These are the same people who yell at my ADHD kids and charge too much for products. Things seemed to go downhill here when they moved to the current location. It's after one of these experiences that I return to the Whole Foods store in Calhoun Square where the prices are better and the people are nicer.
Annika Minge
Lots of fresh produce, variety, and bulk food. It is environmentally friendly. They're mainly a grocery store, but there is so much more (plants, gifts, jewelry, health products, bakery, etc). The staff are friendly and helpful. A bit pricey, but high quality.
Robert K Kroll
Excellent stop for great choices.
It's my Wheat Grass stop for juicing.
Giant tea selection too.
A must stop' plus great customer service.
sabrina ferrell
This is my neighborhood co-op, and I love supporting it. This grocery market is the perfect spot for finding specific items of high quality with a minimal ingredient list-label. For example - I am religious about getting my deli turkey meat from here, it has no added sugar and a moderate amount of salt - plus it is from a local farm! I also love that they offer pure stevia in liquid form without unnecessary additives.
The tea and coffee selection is SO on point here! I can always find my valerian root tea and others, and I notice the freshness and flavor of the coffee beans when making my french press coffee.
The staff here are also always kind and helpful, and this co-op has a nice laid-back neighborhood feel.
Robert Kile
Great service and selection but this place is really busy on the weekend.
Emily Peck
Good hot bar food, but the star of the deli show are the niçoise salads. Whoever makes these every week needs a raise! Compliments to the chef!
Elizabeth Bright
They have a friendly staff and great local food!! The prepared food is solid and options are good, even for vegetarians. There’s an expansive bulk shopping section and fresh local bread. The cosmetics and retail sections are also very good — good spot to grab a gift and gift wrap on the go.
john reichel
A nice store with all you exoe t to find we usually stop here when in town.
Rob Burroughs
Standard co-op, small, fairly high prices. No beer selection. This is the only co-op I have ever been in that doesn't sell local craft beers or wines.
Pouran Askari
I am a member but I can’t get everything here. Limited selections, even my decaf coffee. Not alway I can find decaf coffee ( simple as that), they have friendly staff. Of course you have to pay the price for getting local and good products. It’s more like convenient store than Greocery store.
David Newman
We love shopping @ linden hills , everything is so easily displayed & great customer service too. Delicious selections @ the deli as well. I became a member on my 1st.visit I was so impressed 👍 …
Halsey Hall Lindquist
I love this co-op. You're going to find great service. Very friendly staff. Excellent organic product selection.
The meat department (butcher) is well worth a visit. Great quality. Well prepared staff if you want to know a good way to prepare a steak, roast, fish etc. Parking can be tight at times. It is after all, a neighborhood grocery store.
robert chepolis
Our family's top go-to source for quality fresh organic produce. Deli builds a super made-to-order protein bowl.
Anton Markwart
Great selection, knowledgeable and friendly staff! Do not underestimate this grocery store. From the freshest produce to simple beans & rice fare to gourmet specialties, LHC has you covered.
Mimi Kannisto
Their fresh soups, salad's, freshly made to order sandwiches & wraps or premade had become my favorite place to get food as an alternative to restaurants. I come from St Louis Park just to get their fresh and healthy meals. On this trip I had their Sweet potato, quinoa and black bean chili. The perfect combination of spicy and slightly sweet. I also had their greek hummus wrap. It's chefs kiss amazing!! I challenge anyone that believes that a co-op cannot be both health as well as affordable. Here they find a way to make it happen!! Highly recommend!!
Sasha Renee
Linden Hills Co-op does a great job making the store feel clean and safe. They limit the amount of shoppers allowed at one time. They also wipe down everything after it’s been used.
The store has a wonderful selection, especially for being a little small. I always can find what I am looking for. The staff is very friendly and helpful.
Denise Jacobs
Great variety of products and customer service
Nikolina Erickson-Gunther
Been a member since 1990. Everything is stellar here except some of the prepared foods, which seem too reply too heavily on onion as filler & garlic as flavor- would love to see a bit more nuance in your flavors, folks. Otherwise, amazing customer service and responsiveness.
Neil Ryan
My favorite twin cities grocery store. The produce is the closest to perfect you could find. Awesome selection. Great prices for organic selections. Love the fill your own soap options. They have a great vegetarian selection along with meat. Really nice cheese selection. The deli is delicious. Love the health section as well.
George Rerat
What a wonderful place to shop, excellent vegetables and produce, many times locally grown, always fresh most of the time organic.
They have a wonderful fish, and the bulk area for beans and rice is fantastic.
And if you are a member, they give you four of water for free every time you're in.
Can't beat the friendly staff.
Anna Davenport
Great produce along with both a wonderful deli and meat department. They have a lot of vegan and/organic selections. They also have a "beauty/nutrition" department...for a smaller co-op they have a large variety of items one may need/want!
G T
Great staff great products. I visit often!
5vickie
Reading other reviews I was shocked at some of the negative comments and wonder if these were planted by competition. I've been coming to Linden Hills Co-op since the seventies and the only negative thing is that I wish the milk dates had a longer shelf life and as a member I miss the member discount program that they use to implement, there is still a discount just not to the degree it once was. Great staff and great produce as well as those desserts are to die for!
William Boland
One of the better if not best co ops in the twin cities in terms of staff, food offerings, and grab and go meals, etc. I wish it was a bit larger of a store but they make great use of the space, even extending outdoors for plant sales. Really worth a stop if you’re in the neighborhood and definitely worth a membership if you frequent the area.
Dave Cecchi
Hysterically expensive! But I love having it in the neighborhood and go often for spices, coffee, some bulk and some dairy items. Also for the rustica bread, maybe a bit of produce. Occasionally will grab some ready to eat food, it's always nicely done but again often lolwut pricey. They have continually updated and remodeled, trying new things. Staff is consistently wonderful. Just wish it felt a bit more like a true cooperative vs a yuppie health food store. But seriously what do I know, they are clearly very successful.
Sarah Mathre
Very nice grocery store. They have a wide variety of food selections that you can’t find elsewhere. I have a co-op membership with them. They also have a donation drop off box for some epilepsy organization behind their building where I donated some clothes.
Lou Kin
My other favorite food coop
Kenny Galbrecht
Good deli choices, same as every other coop in the cities. Cashiers are way nice though. Smaller store than some others in the cities, beauty aisle seemed a little big for such a small store. Great staff here
Jeanne Long
Oh gosh I miss this place since we moved out of MPLS. This was our favorite Food CO-OP. They have a room for cooking demos and allow practitioners and sole props to put on workshops on anything health & wellness. I loved the old fashioned type store with wood floors and big ole barrels of fresh food. The displays will get your mouth watering. It's a typical co-op with a deli, bakery groceries, kitchen utensils, pet food and accessories, meat department and bulk items frozen foods fresh organic produce spices etc. This coop often has a sale or coupons in the isles you can use on your items. They have good samples but you have to go early. I was impressed by their assortment of pickles and mustard. Wow. every kind you can imagine. They also have quite a selection of dairy including milk with cream floating at the top in old fashioned glass milk bottles. I have pictures some where of these items I will post. The neighborhood is the greatest with Lake Harriet down the street and located near 50th & France a desirable shopping area.UPDATE We just moved back to Minneapolis and I swear this is why we moved back here so many wonderful healthy shopping experiences and organic places to eat. I really love the variety and their Deli oh my gosh so many amazing healthy choices. I could not even believe how many different types of cheeses they have so I sort of became obsessed one day and took tons of pictures of them because wow I can't even pronounce half of them.
Braden Larson
The best co-op in the twin cities. Definitely my go-to place to get groceries. Great prices on in-season produce and amazing employees. Love their deli area and meat selections as well!!
Rebekah Rexius
I love their selection of organic produce. Plus the employees are always very helpful. If I can't reach something (I'm under 5') they will dig through produce on the top shelves to look for the best for me without my even prompting them to! Fantastic service!
Sabrina Spörk Woodling
Everything you need to find, as long as it can be found organic or all natural, you can find it here. Their deli is amazing and their fresh meat and cheese choices are great. We go back regularly, and don't even have a membership!
P Collins
I really like this place. Way better than the old location. Their salted-in-shell peanuts are the best around. Although, I once had one of their deli potpie made me barf. Oh well, I'll still come.
Sarah Sederberg
Lots of dairy free and vegan options. Happy they have Hi-Ball energy drinks for sale sometimes. Round up your purchase to the nearest dollar to contribute to their local charity.
Brian Lillquist
Friendly staff, great variety, excellent programs supporting local farms. If you want to spend 1/10 the the price of normal spices and herbs, buy them from the bulk area. You can scoop what you want and spend pennies.
Spencer Chandler
This is a great and trustworthy market and way of life if you care about local, organic, eco-friendly groceries. It's small enough to be manageable yet big enough to have just about everything a household needs. When moving to Minnesota from New York, one of the things that made the move away from friends and beloved institutions in NYC was the knowledge that we'd be able to shop at the co-op. We're proud to be members. It's certainly not the cheapest experience, but we find the quality and integrity to be worth it.
Andrew Hou
Fantastic co-op with a really wide selection of produce, as well as dry goods and ready to eat meals. It's a little bit cramped inside, but has a chill atmosphere and the staff are all very friendly when I've been
Carla Manzoni
Love the co-op. I cannot buy everything because it'd get to expensive for our budget but they offer wonderful fresh products, I love their all natural ground pork (less than 3 5$ the pound) for hamburgers/empanadas and their chicken (competitive price) and their variety on sprouts for less than 2$. Cage free eggs and bread products and also competitive. Mussels similar to lunds price, sometimes. Many sales and discounted prices. The co-op is a wonderful community resource, if you become a member they pay you back monthly, to be discounted from your purchase up to 5$/month.
Laurencio Ronquillo
Very nice organized clean easy navigation good prices store. Professional friendly staff
Cigar Gal
Zero wait tonight, possibly 4 people in the store, nobody to bump into with the exception of the staff placing more food on shelves (1st world issues) and at 6pm? I was thankful and amazed they were even OPEN! 😘💓🥳💯💥🥰💯 …
Jeffrey Wright
Great selection of fresh, local, sustainable and organic products and ingredients. Expect super high prices and the occasionally surly staff member. Daily proof that inflation is not dead.
Cathy Cozad
Linden Hills Co-op is committed to bringing the locally grown veggies to our corner of Minneapolis. We love that they’ve done the work to source the best possible foods and goods for us. We’ve been members since 2011.
Eduardo Coll
We have been shopping at this co-op for many years, since before they moved to their current location. Always good selection of great organic produce and cheeses, and many other products. Very helpful staff.
Trista Boe
The deli and deli staff at this little co-op are fantastic! Great sandwich and lunch selections, as well as take and heat meal options. One of my favorite Twin Cities stores.
Raw Dawg
The food is the best! ALL Locally grown!
Support your local farmers! All organic!
THEIR SPICE COLLECTION IS SECOND TO NONE..
Litterally..
Staff is hit or miss.. Some are nice others are snooty and rude BUT you didn’t go to make friends now did you..
Anna Alexandra
I've been going here my whole life (since the days it was in downtown Linden Hills, near Great Harvest). You can't ask for a better local co-op. The red curry tofu is nummy.
Sabrina Miller
I love all my Co-ops in my city but this One is my all time favorite. The most unique evolved group of humans work there.
It is such a pleasure to visit each time!
Richard Anderson
Great little coop with snug aisles and limited shelving, but a solid variety of healthy food, supplements and allergy friendly groceries.
Tobin Frederiksen
Has long been a favorite "treat" to shop here, the meat counter has a wonderful selection and staff is friendly and can answer questions about the different marinades and bratwurst flavors.
Nancy Pflug
I love this co-op for many reasons but mostly because the food is always fresh and of great quality. I've never been disappointed. The staff is eclectic and helpful. The new remodel is wonderful.
Elizabeth Athineu
Simply lovely! Great prices, very good salad, and excellent bulk selection.
Audrey Sheffield
All the great organic and natural products I love, a salad bar, customer seating, kombucha on tap, great produce. And a friendly, knowledgeable staff make Linden Hills a great place to shop.
Ben Moehring
Lots of Nice things can be found here!!! Fresh ground Peanut Butter too... If you forgot to bring your own wide mouth ball jar for the PB they have those too
Lala Lew
Good selection of items, staff was friendly and helpful. Only downside, it's super small so distancing isn't going to happen here as easily.
Phil White
Great local foods! Plenty of Non-GMO, Organic, CBD, Herbal, and Earth Friendly Products. Very happy to have discovered this place!
John Teague
We go here every year to pick up free range, organic turkey for Thanksgiving. Upscale and pricey, but worth it.
Mark Bixby
Great choices. This is my main grocery store.
Tami Bauers
Great selection at this full service grocery store. Take time to eat at the full serve deli first, well worth it! Helpful staff.
Eric Ellefson
Great selection of produce. Neat, and the bulk section is nice too. The staff is some of the nicest, most helpful people as well.
Nancy Drew
My family has had a membership in the Linden Hills Co-op since it began over 30 years ago. It is the BEST place to buy spices!
Taylor Bullard
Ok. I love this place, and I expect natural and organic food to be a little more spendy. I gave 4 instead of five because of price; it feels like they are charging what the neighborhood will pay, not the value of the goods.
Kathy Jo Peterson
Great produce and meat. Wish deli items especially soup were more healthy. They use instant broth with corn syrup in it.
MacLean Hawley
Excellent coop! Not the cheapest one in Minneapolis, but could be much worse honestly. I have noticed a reduction in prices since they teamed up with the Wedge in Uptown too!
Kristen Daniels
Friendly staff and easy to navigate. Wide range of clean foods as well plenty of local options.
Troy O'Donnell
I really like how many local products are stocked here. Also, all the employees are all super nice.
Janet MacKenzie-Polanski
Wonderful staff, great produce, excellent bulk section. Deli counter is amazing for take away and ideas.

James Valasquez
Nice selection of healthy food with decent prices for the size. I especially enjoy their fresh fruit!
Lexa Kandola
Great produce, cheese selection, pecan-walnut pate so good but runs out quickly, salad bar, hot bar and soups great for quick dinner to take home.
Roshan Rajkumar
My neighborhood co-op, but all are welcome. Great selections. Great produce. Fab staff who care. Love being a member here!
Skaht Hansen
Each of the Twin Cities co-ops have their own flavors and despite the unification with the Wedge a few years back, Linden Hills maintains a distinct identity.
Markus Uhl
The fruit is always good.
They remodeled not so long ago. Bigger butcher counter now.
Some hot food and soup options.
Elaine Johnson
Excellent selection of well sourced, high quality food and other products
Peter Schleisman

Michael Monsor
Good selection, nice staff. Good cheese department. I'm a regular and satisfied customer.

This co-op is great overall. Wellness staff such as T. and manager are really bad though. Unhelpful, apathetic and rude. The rest of the store rocks!
