Great place to stop and grab lunch or dinner while you are out. They now have a pasta bar at this location which is my favorite option. The deli here is great. They have a large amount of seating up front as well. Getting in and out of the parking lot can be a pain but you gotta do what you gotta do. Great easy place to get food when no one can decide on one place to go get food. People can pick what they each want. Also great if you are going on a picnic!

This Kowalski’s has the best stuff!! I mean really! Wether you’re looking for clothing, Knick knacks, stickers, cards, purses, hats, candles, accessories, or food. This is the spot! They have so much stuff in that tiny store. A really great selections of candles, reading glasses and stickers!

Coming in from Jersey, first place I stop at after getting to my Airbnb is this place, I respect the various selections of meats and cheeses here, considering it’s an import here as well, it’s saying a lot coming from someone from the Garden State. I wouldn’t say it’s high end even though the prices feel like they should be that way, but it’s more for a convenience sake I go here than other stores because of the walking distance, so I can’t find fault in that. Wonderful staff🤙🤙

I always get great service here. I love to donate my receipts where they provide a percentage of the amount spent to an organization of your choice. I almost always donate to Bridging, a youth experience homelessness organization. I hope everyone checks that out the next time you visit! It’s on the right as you exit the grocery store.

Always quality ingredients and friendly, helpful people. Best higher end grocery store in the area. They now have a build your own pasta bar (closes at 8:30) which is excellent! The New space is incredible!

The store was clean, but options can be super limited. Honestly, this place is great for quick dinner options, and they have a ton of prepackaged/instant food options. However, as someone who cooks often, I wish their produce section was larger. I feel like Cub has more stuff to choose from.

I love bringing coffee and Donuts to my work, and with a Starbucks located within, I have a wonderful selection of both to choose from. They also have a wine and spirits store connected to it. Staff are friendly, it is a nice One-Stop shop in the heart of Uptown.

Unbelievable experience! My young adult daughter was sick at the Emory Hotel and the phone lines were down and the water was shut off! She was there for business and was really sick! I called multiple places and no one could help me. Hawkin from Kowalski markets went above and beyond. He was able to gather up a bunch for items for her (cold medicine, ginger ale, cookies and snacks) and offered to personally deliver it to her hotel free of charge! Who does that? What a wonderful person...what a great market! Thanks a million!

As a Real Estate Advisor officing up the street, I always appreciate their large variety of prepared grab and go options or fast hot bar services including pho, stirfry, chicken dinners, sandwiches, etc. It is very easy to grab lunch and some snacks or bubble water for the shop and head back to work with a tasty and nutritious meal.

I'm an Aldi shopper, but when I want good deli, I splurge on Kowalski's. Their chicken dinner, formerly $8, currently $9, includes two pieces (rotisserie or fried, light or dark) with two sides (options include mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, green beans, mixed veggies, or potato wedges) and a roll (or cornbread). It is a better portion and quality for the price than any fast food restaurant could offer. I have also bought wine here, great selection, and the full spectrum from $6 Chilean red blends to $70 Veuve Cloquet.

This Kowalskis is a great place to escape reality for a bit. I just bought flowers there and they weren’t too shabby actually! $25 for these sunflowers and spray roses together, it’s a quick “picker upper” (please correct me if that phrase is wrong haha!) but with the fast pace living of Minneapolis, it’s nice to unwind in the store and just admire the trinkets section, get my favorite Tillamook Ice cream, or just prepare for a really good food feast. They’re not cheap, I get that, but they are extremely convenient. Plus, they’re open pretty much almost 16 hours everyday from 6am-10pm! They also have to go meals if you can’t decide where to eat and would rather have a tasty meal to bring home.

Waited 5 minutes for service at the seafood counter while the meat guy chatted with a customer while looking at me... Finally gave up and left. Never had a problem with any other department in the store... Only seem to have issues with the meat guys.

I was at Kowalski's tonight and to my surprise, purchased a piece of cake which already had been bittten--but trusting the brand I did not check that until I came home. SHAME! This was "KOWALSKI'S" salted caramel chocolate cake; with these late operating hours, someone should at least check the quality of the food--and pay attention to customers nibbling on things!!!!! I love this store, but this was just disappointing above all.

I love this Kowalskis. They have great customer service. So many long term employees, that I would guess are compensated and treated well to stick around so long. Also they seem to genuinely care about the place. That’s always a good sign in my opinion. They have an amazing selection of good quality, local and organic groceries. Their prices are fair for what you can get. I must say beware of the beautiful selection of plants, housewares, decor and clothing items. I often go in to get a few basic grocery or cleaning products and leave with a $40 top or rug...🙃

The headline of Kowalski's is that the quality often won't disappoint, but prepare to spend at least 50% more on everyday products compared to other grocery stores. Generally speaking, they have a pretty good selection: the produce beats out competing upscale grocers like Lund's and this location has a lot of good lunch/dinner options if you want to bundle that into your shop, including a custom pasta station. Every interaction I've had with employees has been more than courteous and they are often willing to go the extra mile to help out. I should hope the markup goes into employee pockets with this level of service. Yet, while the experience is 5 stars, being blocks away from an Aldi really forces you to consider if the extra cost is worth it for several items.

The entire store presents as it should - the very best grocery shopping experience in the Twin Cities. With all the competition in the Twin Cities metro area and many stores with also good reputations, no matter which store you visit, everything from bakery to deli to grocery; all is clean, beautifully displayed, tasty and well priced. items are unique and recipes are time-tested. You can never go wrong with anything at a Kowalski's!

The Overall Grocery is Great, a lot of great selection, this particular kowalski will great you with a lot of sweets, chocolates - so be mindful especially with cravings, eat before you go. What concerns me is their fresh produce, in particularly their avocados, their Organic Avocado whenever I go has gone bad, bruised or Ready and Sadly they have too many of those that will eventually just end up in the trash. What kowalski should do is actually mark them down when they are about to Go bad/ or ready for about $.75 cents. I think they would make money rather than just dumping 500 organic avocados per week. It is a huge waste. Either order less or mark it down.

baked goods are amazing for a supermarket. best way to hack it is to go to aldi for basics and then come over here for premium goods like cheese, bread, beer, wine, and specialty produce like herbs. one time I was here and waiting to use the bathroom and the manager saw me waiting. he ran up to me and yelled “you must really need to go to the bathroom! i know that look” and i was mortified but that was just on one occasion and he is generally a very nice man

Kowalski's is my favorite grocery store to browse. So beautiful. But today they had a sign saying the CDC recommend face masks. Yet they did not require their own staff to wear masks.... interesting.

Great selection of products, my favorite part of the store is the deli, great selection of sandwiches, pasta, meats, etc. I highly recommend their signature and turkey meatloafs! And you can tell the store is making a great effort to keep their employees safe during this trying time, providing them with masks, adjusting store layout for social distancing, etc. And if you need your caffeine/ liquor fix after shopping, there is a Starbucks and liquor store inside too :-) what more could you possibly want!

When I first moved to the Minneapolis area i immediately missed grocery stores like Kroger, Jewel, and Publix. To this day I still miss them. Kowalskis is fine, but has a bit of a pretentious feel and overpriced I’m general. Some nice selections of items, but not sure the value is there.

I visit this store monthly for a couple items that they make fresh. The store layout is great and clean. Always someone to help. Only thing that I didn't find welcoming was the cashiers. They make you feel that you have covid19, and to have register open next to each other I feel like I was standing next to the other cashier.

I have been coming here a couple nights a week for years! There’s no better grocery store in the area if you value customer service and cleanliness. The staff are always helpful and cheerful, which I appreciate as I am not always in the best mood after work when I grocery shop! One star down only because they don’t always have a lot of brand options for a certain food (it’s not the largest space), but they really have expanded their organic and toxic-free items over the years.

SO CLEAN AND BEAUTIFUL!!! What a lovely place to shop, helpful staff and clearly organized. Also, easily the best prepared foods and any grocery store in the Twin cities. I can't tell you how many times I've been too exhausted to cook dinner and I know that I can walk into Kowalski's, grab something delicious off the hot bar, and have dinner done.

This place is super spacious after the remodel. Yeah it’s pricier than other stores, but a nice place to stop if you want some pre-made items (the take and bake stuffed mushrooms are awesome and when for cooking for others nobody has to know you didn’t prep them yourself!). The front lanes always move incredibly fast and service there is friendly, as in the liquor section. One area that needs work is the butcher counter, an amazing selection but it can be so hard to flag down somebody to help you. I’ve sat and waited forever, but I did so because they have a seafood selection you can’t find anywhere else in the uptown area.

It's Kowalski's. Do people really rate grocery stores? They do if they want to pad their Google score. It's good. Their meal options are wonderful. The bread options are good but the bakery is lacking. But, that's par for the course in a metro area. Go here if you need food and you live nearby.

I love Kowalski's, i love the set up, i love their products, i love the atmosphere and the friendly people. My favorite thing here is the salad bar. Amazing and always so fresh. They also have other hot food items and pasta they cook up right in front of you! In the front right corner are also some cool gagets and gifts I've never thought of definitely worth checking out and the rest of the grocery store is full of all kinds of good food. They also have a coffee shop in the center

Really good produce. I like how I can order the cold cuts and not wait at the counter, continue shopping and come back to pick them up. Update: I had told the meat counter I wanted thin, nearly shaved meat. I opened up the meat today and it's cut thick. I guess you should stay at the counter to make sure they get it right. Disappointing.

Absolutely the best grocery shopping experience in the Twin Cities. Staples are overpriced as you'd expect but gourmet options are reasonably priced and plentiful. Their prepared foods are great as is the affordable rotisserie chicken but the highlight for me is their meat counter. Get a thick prime grade ribeye and give it a few minutes in a cast iron pan and you've got a better than restaurant quality steak.

Gorgeous atmosphere and friendly staff. Everything here is well maintained, and easy to locate. We love the breadth of goods on offer, this is great for when you are cooking the specialty dish and need ingredients that you just cant get anywhere else.

Super expensive, similar to whole foods except you can buy nonorganic brands of food in limited selection. Meaning, they have hamburger helper, but only one flavor. So they tried, but this ain't the place for you. I thought the meat department would have had a whole lot more, but it was lacking any sort of fish options. However, it was under renovations while I was there so that could be why. Nice staff, small parking lot, and had a beer and wine store within. Most likely not to be my regular grocery store due to cost, but it was a nice place.

It's OK. Stopped here for a specific item I couldn't find at cub. Should have gotten what cub had. 2.69 for a bag of lentils seems, to me excessive . Good selection of cheese nuggets. Wide range of fresh seafood. I guess if you have the money shop here .

Kowalski's is priced high, but always a good shopping experience. I REALLY enjoy their hot-pasta station where they make a fresh hot pasta dish of your choice. They also recently added a wing bar with different types of chicken wings and flavors. These can dry out over the shift, but there's always something else to grab. Everyone is also very kind. Cam sometimes be a bit of a wait at the meat counter. Great store, wish I had one in my home neighborhood. :)

I started out by coming here for lunch and grabbing a quick sandwich, or even a whole plate of hot food. Kowalski's slowly became my default grocery store. It has a wonderful bakery with breads and deserts and it even has great premade food for dinner. In the grocery section, there is a wide variety of brands. You can find trendy, local options alongside your favorite brands. I still can't give up my Kraft Mac and cheese! It's a little pricier than some stores, but the quality selection and friendly staff make up for it.

First timer, went for turkey and ham. Wow, the turkey was amazing, got the free range from cannon falls and got the uncured smoked ham, just the best ham I've made! Store layout is easy and the product selection is great! Will be back for sure.

My daughter was going to a college interview downtown and I called and asked if they could deliver a basket of fresh fruit / cheese and crackers and a couple of cookies to her hotel room. I didn't realize the location I called was not in the area. The produce manager went above and beyond to make the basket perfect. My daughter said the fruit was delicious and fresh. I appreciate the manager going above and beyond and he made her day after a long trip to Minneapolis!

Kowalski’s is for those that have extra money. It is an expensive grocery store. They remodeled and expanded their space. It is clean and inviting and the bakery is exemplary. I can’t afford to do all of my shopping there but it is fun to look and the baked bread is unique and reasonably priced. Though their quiche is delicious, I cannot afford to buy it when I could make it for a third of the price at home. But for those financially blessed, it is great!

The redesigned store has a more open format and welcome additional space, though the traffic flow through the store feels a bit odd. Sadly missed are the days when the store was open 24 hours, and the inflated prices of a more upscale shopping experience may suffer even more now that Hy-Vee is moving into this region. Best selection of take and bake breads and broad choice of teas for a supermarket.

Favorite grocery store in the area. Great quality food and a pleasant place to shop. Samples are often available and are delicious. The meat can get pricey but it's reasonable for the quality. Most other things are quite affordable, if marginally more expensive than at places like Cub or Rainbow.

Friendly staff, extraordinary customer service, impressive selection given its tiny size and SUPER expensive. For example, milk is a dollar more than it is at Cub. However, their sales can be worth the trip. I bought candied ginger recently that cost only 25% of the lowest price I've seen anywhere.

I have said it before and I’ll say it again: I LOVE THIS KOWALSKI’S. I am absolutely glad to pay a little more for this grocery store, as their customer service always leaves me wanting to write a five star review. 1) they have so many employees that have been with the company for so long! This speaks volumes. Unhappy employees do not stick around. Happy employees are an absolute joy to talk to. 2) their aisles are brightly lit and easy to navigate. The remodel (one + year ago) only helped that fact. 3) you can’t beat their customer interactions at checkout. Their people know how to start a conversation and keep it light and interesting OR to suggest something you might like (a few years back I tried egg nog for the first time ever and as I was checking out the cashier recommended a different brand and even fetched it for me. It was delicious). 4) efficiency. There is hardly ever a wait at this location (even at peak grocery times) the employees know when to hop on register to help out and do so with a smile. Props to management for proper scheduling and training too. I just moved back to Minneapolis after living in Bozeman, Montana, and I couldn’t be more thrilled about returning to my Kowalski’s. You guys are the best keep it up!!

A weird hybrid of one of those hipster grocery stores in bougie neighborhoods and a normal grocery store. All the the cashiers are nice and covid regulations are great! (If you're not wearing a mask during covid, I'm judging you) Some of the bands interesting and sometimes a little over priced but worth it!

Kowalski's is my favorite place for grab and go food. Their soups and salads are the best. The service is also great. The only downside is the prices are a bit high. I am ok with the prices because of the convenience and quality of their food!

This is one of my 2 favorite grocery stores. Has the specialty health foods I need as well as mainstream brands. Store size is just right, not daunting for quick trips. Not a cheap store so for big trips I go elsewhere. When I have a less healthy craving, they have the best rotisserie chicken, mashed potatoes and buffalo wings! I've tried the rotisserie at almost all the local groceries and this one is the winner. Note: The Uptown Kowalskis does not bread their buffalo wings so works for my gluten free diet. Although they don't claim gluten free I see no gluten ingredients. The Lyndale store unfortunately started breading their wings.

Since the renovations they added a juice bar, a Starbucks, expanded the produce area, and added a little cafe area for people to sit down and eat (the cafe is sort of a waste of real estate space but to each their own). I shop here all the time, they have some really excellent products that I can’t find anywhere else, for instance like their generic Kowalskis brand tarte cherries, they are delicious! But beware this place is on the much, much pricier side of groceries. So unless you’re there for something specific to Kowalskis, I wouldn’t buy your regular groceries here unless you live in the area and are feeling lazy and want to pay extra for convenience!

This is a plea to the bakery dept. All your items that I have had are overly sweet, and not just a little. I bought a piece of single layer white cake, very plain, thinking it would be less sweet. Wrong, I do not want my money back on this inedible super sweet cake. I would like to issue a challenge, I will buy the manager, owner, person in position of changing this. A piece of the same cake, if I can see you eat it. My guess is it would be impossible for anyone to eat this cake.

This Kowalski’s consistently has the freshest, best avocados in MSP. Almost always some immediately ready to eat. This is a specific way to evaluate grocery stores, but it sucks going to Cub or Target or even TJ’s/co-ops and getting super un-ripe (or way over-ripe) avocados. Kowalski’s are almost always ready to eat. That’s why even tho their stuff is unreasonably pricey, they get 4 stars. It’s a Hennepin Ave store so I guess the prices are probably typical for the location. Will continue to shop here.

Always a great selection if you want to just roam with your ear buds in. Plus, there is a Starbucks (my fave). The only tip I have for fellow shoppers is skip the "marshmallow crispies" at the bakery. If your like me, you always find rice crispies at the bakery of every grocery store. Just make your own because they charge $6 and there was hardly ANY marshmallows used. Very dry and drab. Didn't know you could ruin rice crispies but they did!
