Reviews of Eastside Food Co-op
This is a great place to stop and get something healthy to eat. There is a juice bar and smoothie bar as well as coffee. I used to stop here for Lunch when I was working for the city of Minneapolis. I had quite a few projects over the years in Nordeast. There are clean bathrooms here and a nice place to sit at a table and eat. There is a nice salad bar and they also make sandwiches and burritos. There is a great selection of Kombuchas. The staff is very friendly and helpful.
I am always happy with the service I get from employees at Eastside Co-op, be it on the phone when I order ahead or in person.
This weekend, I was especially impressed with Dominic at the meat department. He was the epitome of outstanding customer service with a wealth of knowledge. He said they were out of what I needed but recommended alternative cuts of meat, suggested best ways to cook it to approximate the taste and texture of the cut I originally wanted. Great listener, responded directly to my stated and implied needs and left me better informed with several options!
Eastside Co-op, you have a great asset in Dominic!
I started shopping here right out of college and even after moving out of the neighborhood we shop here whenever possible. (That's after over a decade adding a wife and two children... ). Great staff, amazing produce, delicious deli/cafe, and the best selection of all natural organics around. My needs as a shopper may have drastically changed, but the co-op has been amazing throughout and for some reason was sparked to write a review today.
Even though they don't have everything I get at a different, but similar coop, they have a nice selection. The best thing I've found this past year is that they carry the only non-aluminum, fragrance free deodorant that actually works, Kiss My Face brand. They also usually have a good selection of produce and other items I really need because there are a lot of things like Gluten, Soy, and Corn, etc. that I can no longer eat. Update Sept 21, 2022: they are now getting their fall apple selection in, and on sale this week. I got a bunch of really good looking honey crisp apples for 1/2 the usual price. They also had the beef sticks I use for breakfast and my afternoon drive, that I haven't been able to find for at least a month at the co-op by my house.
I've been going to this store since they open and we became a member. Great store and the staff are helpful and very friendly. You can shop here if you are not a a member too. Great produce and dairy schedule. I also love the bulk isle.
This place is something special. They have a little bit of everything there. I love all the varieties of coffee beans, nuts, granola, etc. I also love the fact you can get fresh ground nut butter! The option of buying things such as spinach by the weight is also wonderful. I could go on and on about this place. It's just wonderful!
Can't say enough about how much I love this grocery store. Great product selection, delicious deli and hot food, and exceptional service. Well done!
Grand experience Shopping here..from oils to healing remedies to all natural foods..delicious cheese and kombochi's! Everything's natural..great gift ideas for the Holidays..and has a small restaurant deli inside store for a quick bite! Took many photos so you can see natural products..I get meats and oils here..great place and reasonably priced items! Staff friendly and will help you find specific things you need..also can help with ideas for ailments..very knowledgeable!
Love how many healthy and vegetarian options there are! Wish I had more money to blow on the organic body products, they get a little pricey but totally worth not getting toxins and parabens in your products. The food was a pretty good deal and there were free samples!
I love their Coffee, Juice and Smoothie Bar. I also enjoy the Deli area, in the back of the store! They have sandwiches, burritos and other food selections.
Great 2nd time experience. Friendly staff very helpful with recommendations. Great tasting deli food good prices. 👍 …
My favorite part of this store is their bulk section. Lots of selection, which I really appreciate! There are generally great snack and drink choices as well, which I like to get as a treat sometimes!
Yum. Great deli, awesome cheese selections. Easy to find things- nicely organized.
First visit to this location. They has some good deals. Check out person was awesome.
Great people working here, very helpful people, they care. Great butchers here. Their brined pork chops are delicious. Great cheese selection at reasonable prices. Excellent bread selection. Great people working here. Delicious home baked cookies for under $2!! Our favorite co-op.
Reasonably priced for primarily organic foodstuffs, but higher than typical store brands. Not a super wide selection, but we found what we needed.
The staff at this co-op are friendly and helpful. The products are of high quality, including the produce. Prices are more than your average grocery store, but you get a better product. They carry locally sourced items where possible. Their cheese selection is phenomenal. It is great they label the cheeses with specific info for vegetarians. This is most helpful when there are 2 in your family. If you need gluten free items, there is a decent selection for those as well. If you don’t feel like cooking, there are easy deli to-go items to make your life easier.
High quality, top-notch store for a wide range of products. We're so lucky to have such a terrific retailer of natural foods and selection of goods here. I LOVE their selection of greeting cards, too! A must stop this holiday season!
Extremely well stocked with fresh produce and fresh perishables....
Wonderful staff, fair pricing 👍👍👍👍 …
Amazing coffee cafe, deli and sandwiches, smoothies, handmade soaps, and more than expected at a co-op. Prices are what you’d expect but rarely does it feel like you didn’t get full value or more for the money
Always enjoy shopping at your local store and the folks you have working for you are the best!!
Love this place. Great store, great community, great food, wonderful service. Been going here for years now and cannot recommend it enough. Fresh and locally sourced products, yummy baked goods, and lots of vegan options.
I love this Co op! So many great bulk options and you can bring your own containers to minimize waste, even non-food items like soap! Really good labeling for organic and local, with the location the produce came from called out on most. Some really good local fresh breads delivered on certain days of the week too.
A great store for the people and run by the same open to all enjoy its there for you ! Stop by and give them the business
I love their gluten and dairy free ice cream.
Always good options available at ESC! "New" building feels roomy & looks nice. Great chocolate selections. Amy's brand prices are competitive. Grass fed beef competitive or better priced, too. Will order for you if they don't have it (supplements, deodorant, etc).
Enjoyed the whole trip. I always find something new to add to my foodlist when I go with my mom. We always have a smoothie on the way out! Phenomenal how sales associates know about the products. They even gave my little guy some attention which is all he needs most times.
Great co-op. Nice selection of fresh produce, friendly staff, and convenient location in Northeast Minneapolis.
Produce is always fresh. Staff is always helpful and friendly!
This co op has a nice selection of items for vegetarians and omnivores plus bulk products. It is a convient location and the store is well organized. I took stars off because I purchasd a couple of gourmet cheeses and they have both molded rather quickly- the sell by date hasn't even passed. Disappointed with that, but I will still get produce from here.
I'm a fan of this co-op. I can find items here like organic potato chips and air chilled chicken. They carry quality products and sometimes products I need are on sale. The store was not crowded and checking out went smoothly. They do strongly encourage that you wear a mask.
This is a fine co-op with a large selection of groceries and personal care products, much of which are organic and otherwise produced with attention to ethical impact. I'm too far away to visit very often, but try to go when I can to help support and enjoy the selection. Definitely worth a visit!
My first time, not my last! Clean store great atmosphere!
Superb selection of organic, wholesome foods and snacks. Carries brands like Dr. Bronner's for cleaning products, etc, with the inviting scent of essential oils. Staff quite friendly!
Not as cheap as Aldi's -- but worth the quality and selection.
The East side co-op have wonderful things to buy and choose from and different things that I was not custom to even try it but try them and they were fabulous....
The best co op in N.E. Mpls, I love this place. Super convenient location on central and 1 blk north of Lowry, and it doesn't get much better being next door to holyland deli.🤗👍👍 …
This is one of my favorite co-ops and just places in general in northeast! I love the vibe here and the selection is amazing. The staff are always kind and patient, and I really enjoy the sandwiches and smoothies.
I loved the spaciousness & of course that wonderful Co Op customer service! If you're able to patronize this wonderful community asset, please do, you'll be happy you did.
I've been a coop owner here for a few years now with my partner. Even though we don't live within walking distance anymore, we frequently go back in order to restock on essentials and pick up harder to find items. If you need bulk items, or more specialty ingredients, this is a wonderful place to look. If you're looking for sustainable options, this is a great place to go as well.
Love this place. Great selection, great deli, good coffee, friendly staff. Yeehaw
Great, smaller grocery store. They do have curbside pickup and delivery. I like their bulk spice and dry goods section. They have a diverse selection of cheeses, both local and international. They have a small butcher shop with wild fish and pasture raised beef, pork, chicken, and lamb. I can find most things my family needs here. They also have my favorite sparkling water brand, Topo Chico. I can't find it anywhere else in the Twin Cities besides here.
This store has a lot of food options for those with gluten and dairy allergies. We even found dairy free yogurt for the first time. My son can't wait to try it. The employees are friendly and helpful too.
Our go-to coop for local finds. I can almost always find what I'm looking for. My only poor experience has been with the fruit that's on sale. Each time I've purchased discounted fruit it's been bad.
What a beautiful store! Friendly and helpful staff. Great to discover they carry some items I thought I had to buy online. Will definitely return to grab some fresh coffee and a snack sometime soon!
When Love Buzz coffee is on sale, I can’t resist buying a supply! Friendly staff. Good quality food. Excellent supply of St Paul Bagelery everything bagels. Remembered my reusable bag, that’s a plus. Recommend shopping here, people.
We absolutely love this grocery store. I used to avoid co-ops because I thought you had to be a member to shop there — that’s just not the case! The employees are wonderful, incredibly helpful, and seem like they genuinely enjoy their jobs. (I feel like this isn’t the case at most chain grocery stores.) The produce is super fresh, and they source a lot of local food/products. They have a fantastic juice/coffee bar and reasonably-priced food bar with lots of vegan/veg options. Highly recommend!
Usually run in for a roasted chicken. + Tempeh tantrum and local CBD gummies. Quality items in health and wellness. Friendly- small scale. Higher prices - but also WIC and Field Day generic items. Go-to spot in NE for organic produce. Great cheese section. Chai's are made from scratch. + Bulk coffee + grinder and bulk dey goods and herbs- great quality. Staff are helpful. A peaceful place to shop or grab a bite to eat.
I've been going to this co-op since I was around 3 years old. Throughout all the changes they've experienced, they always provide exceptional food, service, and community. As an adult I've learned to love their coffee, so cheap yet the best in NE. I'm proud that my family has been a part of this amazing co-op for over 20 years!
Love this place people are helping as you enter..great prices n wonderful staff
Super cool and unique food items in this store.
Very friendly customer service. The place looks decent and found some aloe Vera for my skin. The counter lady was very helpful and kind. I had a good experience. However some grocery items are a bit pricey and some are a decent price.
My mother is a member. Everyone was so very nice and helpful. Great food, fresh sandwiches, a deli...I would go here again.
Fresh and affordable mini cafe inside as well as goods and groceries. Employees are great and love the location and bright building.
I Am Here Everyday. I love their salad and hot bar, staff is so friendly and personable. I absolutely love this store.
Eastside might be my favourite co-op in the Twin Cities and that's saying something because I go to The Wedge and Seward and Linden Hills all the time too. If nothing else, Eastside Co-op has the BEST cheese curds and string cheese in their dairy department (hint: look for the garlic and dill ones!) The staff is friendly, the store is laid out well, great sandwiches and smoothies... you get the idea!
My favorite local grocery store. It is more expensive, but I appreciate knowing produce and other items are coming from a local source. Lots of vegan options. The store hosts workshops for either cheap or free. Always love stopping by for a muffin and a smoothie before shopping for the items I need. Highly recommend becoming an owner, the monthly owner discounts really add up if utilized properly.
The co-op a great local community grocery store. More than that, they have a great selection of vitamins and self-care products. I really like how fresh there produce is. They also have a really good smoothie and juice area as well. On some things, the prices are a little higher than Whole Foods, but, that is to be expected when your a local organic grocery store. Definitely worth checking out.
Nice neighborhood Co-op give you a membership to all the rest of the co-op's if you join I generally go there to look for new produce fruits that I don't get other places or different selection of drinks and various other things it's a lovely store and affordable. Below is a comparison of two delicious lemons one's a Meyer lemon and the one on the left I believe is when I don't remember the name of it and it is so sweet you can eat it just like an orange.
Same basic setup as your usual co-op. Prices are higher but you probably already know to expect that. Produce looked fresh and there was a good variety, and they have a good selection in the dry goods aisle with plenty of lovely fragrant coffees to choose from.
Service was top-notch and our cashier was genuinely friendly and wanted to make sure we had a great experience in his store!
Fabulous local Co-op. Supports local farmers, cheese companies, from scratch pastries, fresh fruit and vegetables, (unique varieties). Great little salad bar, hot food bar and soup selection. Remember to bring your empty egg carton so you can hook up with some eggs sold individually - can't be beat the flavor!
Almost back to what the norm was before Covid... cashiers are still wearing masks and half of the customers too. The hot buffet is back up for ready to eat meals. Today there was vegetarian options and non-vegetarian. Very good Swedish meatballs with a creamy sauce. I'm not a fan of the chicken pot pie. Overloaded with peas, in fact should be called cream of pea potpie. Very, very disappointing 😞.
Plenty of homemade pastries that look excellent. Again, vegan or not.
Great selection, especially for a store this size! I used to buy at Cub, but now I buy almost everything here. The staff is always helpful when I have questions. They almost always have everything I want, so I don't have to go anywhere else. I also find that their prices are competitive (comparing organic with organic, etc.). Some things are lower priced here! I love shopping here!
Great selection of locally sourced food. Occasional sweet weekly deals, and quite the variety of plant-based meat alternatives. We enjoy being Co-op members.
I bet they call it a co-op because they're so cooperative!
I like to give back to my community, while I am getting something for myself.
Nice place. Helpful staff. Good health-conscious food, supplements, wellness products etc. Great bulk section. They will have a meat department and deli soon too!
The prices ain't bad; you really need to consider what you are buying. I'll definitely pay more for food that isn't gonna kill me slowly. They have regular store deals too, so if you are smart you will pay attention and think ahead.
I'm glad to be a member here!
The produce is always delicious and they locally source as much as possible. Great selection of wonderful cheeses, plus a bulk section and health & wellness section. Staff is always plentiful (we've never had to wait in a long line) and they are helpful. We aren't members here, but come every once in a while and really, really enjoy shopping at Eastside!
Welcoming to all. Always has the things I need, including the comfort foods. Staff are friendly and helpful. Has house plants and gifts. Has community room for rent. Membership is $100, get monthly discounts and free community room rentals. Cafe smoothies are delicious.
Very reasonable prices for a co-op. Meat and seafood selection is very fresh. It's a moderately small store but they generally seem to have what I'm looking for. Employees are extremely friendly and helpful. I do enjoy shopping there.
My Local coop. Compact but has so much to offer. Consumables supporting local businesses when possible. (*They welcome suggestions and requests) Wellness area is great and they also have some unique offerings including "world/international" items (resins, charcoal, burning sage, artifacts, etc)
I Went with a friend. They have Awesome soap! (Round) Oatmeal aloe cucumber few others. Employees are awesome if you have questions, They have food and a variety of other things check it out...
Friendly staff, great selection, good prices. Not near me, but I made a special trip for Montbelo Brazilian Pan de Queijo (cheese bread made from tapioca flour)
This is a perfect little co-op! I've been a member here for almost 4 years. Some of the grocery selection is a little smaller than the bigger co-ops, but the prices seem to be lower. Also, it's small enough to get to know a lot of the employees, so it feels like I'm visiting neighbors wherever I go. 😊 Oh! And I love the large selection of supplements and natural self care products! I love exploring those isles and end caps!
The best hot lemon ginger I've had!
The staff is always friendly and helpful and their products are top-notch.
The produce is the real MVP here. You can buy what you need of many herbs, rather than a whole container of it that went get used.
If you're into herbal treatments, their section is impressive and it is staffed by people who know what they're talking about.
Great range of produce and products. Eco friendlier than most supermarkets out there. Snacks from the dispenser are amazing, salted caramel dark chocolate is my favorite. A couple of the staffs can be a bit judgey and less friendly if you're a foreigner, but don't let that ruin your shopping experience. (Though I'm gonna knock a star off because of that). The handmade soap selection is fantastic, smells great and is gentle on your skin, especially love how it's package free. You can also get great deals with a co-op members card.
Very good selection of meats, fruits, veggies.
Staff is very friendly and helpful. Great selection of beauty products, vitamins and body wash/care.
An added coffee shop has smoothies, juices, tea, coffee and small snacks (cookies, scones etc).
- added bonus they don't charge you extra for the type of milk you use. Everywhere else charges you extra for a non-dairy product, not here.
The location is great. The neighborhood is the best place to get my grub on. I just love
Fresh and clean veggies and dried fruits, so
If you have a meeting with someone for a business or just like to kill a hour in a clean and respectable place you can get some coffee, a snack, or even are just want to kick it and enjoy the day.this is a great market/ restraint. Here it is !
Not only is this one of the best grocery stores I’ve ever been too, but it’s a co-op! They’ve got a massive bulk section, as I’ve been trying to be less wasteful when it comes to shopping. If you follow them on social media, you’ll see they’re awesome at updating you on the new items, classes and food in the cafe. Make sure to become a member to get discounts, help the community and eat healthier!
My favorite place for groceries in the twin cities! Prepared food (frozen, boxed) is super expensive I would get that elsewhere, but Veggies, Bulk food, eggs n meat are a great deal. The quality of food is unsurpassed. Staff is super friendly and helpful and all of them do not hesitate to help you with questions. Sometimes I end up chatting with them for a while and then I feel bad cause maybe they need to get back to work. I'm not a member, I don't think it's a good deal. But YOU DON"T HAVE TO BE A MEMBER TO SHOP! It just gets you a 10% discount every month.
Bulk spices are fresh and cheap. You can buy a tablespoon of allspice because, when have you ever really needed more that a tablespoon of allspice? Produce was by weight, good for limes, not great for lettuce or leafy greens. Meat looks fresh and cleanly butchered. Store was spotless, diverse good-looking crowd. A nice store for an afternoon grocery pitstop.
I checked out this co-op looking for materials to make home remedies. They had an extensive selection of raw skin care materials including clays, beeswax, and dried flowers in bulk. I Was also looking for Shea butter for skin care and they only had one option in stock. Overall their skin care and home remedy stuff was in grade supply and I was very pleased :-) Prices are always good. If you have the time order food from the deli, they have incredible vegetarian options!
Even if you aren't a member you can get good deals here for high quality products. Additional savings if you become a member, which can be used at multiple co-op in the twin cities. I stock up on great coffee and delicious chocolate bars here because many of them don't contain unnecessary ingredients. Theres a wide selection of bulk produce, such as coffee and grains. They also carry gluten-free products if you have dietary restrictions.
Staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Small but full of great selections and are currently expanding to a much larger space. The member specials and weekly specials are great deals. I love the natural remedies and aisle and the health and beauty products too. They are committed to supporting the neighborhood.
There is no co-op in the twin cities that compares. The deli serves fresh, unique food and the soup here is great. Especially, the Hungarian mushroom soup... There is many choices in produce and in many other foods. The produce is Minnesota grown as well or at least most of it... The drink area has good choices as well and everyone here provides excellent customer service. It’s a great break spot
Best cheapest organic food in town. And if you become a member you get food even cheaper!! With happy friendly staff!! You really feel at home better than Whole Foods!! or Trader Joe's or Lunds!! People there and Northeast co-op or so down to earth.. when they ran out of wheat grass they said that the guy down the street didn't deliver his order yet!! Wow .!! really locally sourced goods.!! They have a juice bar that's really geared to people that live in Northeast! The names of the juice blends are Parks. and north east communities ! You feel so welcomed by every staff member.!!!!! I bought a bed pomegranate and they said no problem just grab another one.. so cool and friendly!!
One of my favorite places to get groceries. Love their fresh produce and meat selection. Local. Great clean beauty and supplements. Very friendly stuff!!
We love our co-op! Great variety of local fresh baked breads. Solid selection of artisan cheeses. Eggs for sale individually. Make your own cashew/almond/peanut butter! There's even a kombucha tap. Check out the juice bar on your way out and grab a Waite Park smoothie to go.
With an enhanced deli area and more to-go selections, it's easier to shop here. Roasted chicken was tender, our kale salad, sweet potato salads from the deli were flavorful. We shared family style all all enjoyed our impromptu dinner.
Hip and trendy, high quality organic food co-op that is very reasonably priced. Very friendly folks who know their stuff! I stop here every week for fresh organic fruits and veggies! My fav spot!
After moving here we found this place and it's our new local co-op. Their staff is friendly (which is more than I can say for other co-ops) and they have a good, fresh selection. They didn't have too many variations on a pork shoulder, but I'm not sure how many other people want an 8# bone-in pork shoulder on any given day. They have a lovely cafe as well if you want to read for a while.
My daughter and I got takeout for dinner. My daughter had mushroom tacos and a carnitas taco (if I remember correctly); I had a chicken burrito. The tacos (even though they had double shells) fell apart after the first bite, right down the middle. I’m guessing they did not heat the soft corn shells because they literally disintegrated before they were halfway done. The fillings were ok but underwhelming. My chicken burrito was pretty good, but one whole side was bland chicken and rice, so only half my bites contained sauce and were super flavorful. That said, I did enjoy it. But those tacos were a bummer.
The newer, bigger store is excellent! I didn't have a list and was hungry, which is always dangerous.
Unfortunately, I got their after their deli closed. It smelled delicious and I'll be swinging by soon to try out their offerings.
Fun, friendly staff!
A great little co-op. Convenient parking for cars or bikes and on the bus route.
You don't have to be a member/owner, but if you join you get awesome discounts and deals and the membership pays for itself savings.
Staff is always friendly and helpful.
Wish they offered more frozen vegan meals.
This place is our favorite co-op. The staff are friendly and unique individuals, the store is always clean and well stocked, and they have a peanut butter machine so you can buy fresh peanut butter in bulk!! Woo hoo!! They also have the best chocolate selection in all of America, ever! Extra points for having a great produce selection including fresh green jackfruit! Best co-op ever!
The staff at EFC are fantastic--always friendly and helpful. The store expanded not so very long ago, and the new restrooms and café area are beautiful and spacious. They added space and created broader selection in seemingly all departments, but avoided the big grocery store feel that some other large co-ops have; EFC still feels like my "little" local co-op. Lovely patio out front with fun mural and cheery entry design. Always a parking spot available when I go. There's nothing I don't love about this co-op.
My favorite Twin Cities co-op! Not too big - not too small, and well run. Good food, fair prices. And, very importantly, the folks who work here seem pretty happy.
Cute lil organic store!
Very friendly workers!
Hands down my favorite shopping location. The staff are super friendly and helpful. One of the staff at the meat counter was chatting with my and she remembered that I worked at a place I told her about months ago. I'm blown away she remembered. Another staff member helped me make a dish so shout out to that guy this place is my top reccomend grocery shopping spot
I was visiting from out of town and stumbled upon the co-op. I picked up some baked goods from the bakery and nibbled on them while bringing them to my friends’ home! :)
The treats were incredible! :) I was in awe of the co-op’s selection and I will definitely make a point of going back. Such a fun stop!!
Eastside is a favorite place for us. Well stocked, convenient and friendly. Not the largest of the new co-ops, but pretty much what they should be. A pleasant experience. Produce, cheese, bread and bulk sections are very good. The coffee shop is a nice stop or hangout. The NE location on Central is great. Next door is Holyland, across the street is Aki's Bakery, etc..
We are now members of the co-op because right now with the pandemic, it feels like a much safer place than going to a larger grocery store or target. They are limiting how many people are in the store at a time & are fastidious about keeping things clean and sanitized.
Great products and a friendly atmosphere, all at a convenient location
Amazing staff and a great variety of all you’ll need. Priced well and thoughtful about representing good/healthy brands. Produce is always fresh and beautiful.
been going here for years and they do have overpriced items but the rare items they do have make up for that. I do like the hemp granola and the hot food is also very good and they have fresh almond butter! the service is usually relaxed and helpful.
love this store even more after the re model. Space is well utilized. Hot bar, cheese, and bakery departments expanded. Great indoor and outdoor seating areas. Friendly staff. Awesome coffee bar.
Helpful staff
Great choice of products
Convenient location with parking lot.
Just wanted to add that on our trip to the co-op my mom lost a gold bracelet. I never thought we would see it again, but someone turned it into customer service. I offered a small reward but was told it was not necessary because " it was the right thing to do".
I was an owner, but recently switched to the Wedge. My main draw reason for shopping at a co-op is the bulk section and Eastside's is not great. It's small (and has gotten smaller) and overpriced. Many of the staple bulk items that I buy at the wedge are double (no joke) the price. (oats, jasmine rice, etc.) I don't mind paying a little more to skip the package (though it's nonsensical), but double is out of control. Other than the fruit deals that they have pretty consistently, everything is way too overpriced (compared to other co-ops even).
I do like the coffee shop - I get iced americanos and they have organic simple syrup to add at the condiment bar - which is great because adding raw sugar to an iced drink doesn't work well at all.
Beautiful co-op with incredible owner deals. I was only visiting, but if I lived near by, I would absolutely be a member. They fit a lot into a small space and the staff was just the right amount of friendly with above average product knowledge.
I am a Morningside student who got to work here and everyone was very nice and said I was very helpful. My first day was today. I am happily working through the month of July. I love working here. My favorite thing to do is to organize shelves and boxes of supplies in the cold storage and clean the windows. I work Tuesday and Thursday.
The employees here are great. Helpful, cheerful. Since the expansion, the selection of fresh produce is really improved. There is fresh hot food for take out, as well as a coffee shop and juice bar. Highly recommended.
Beautiful bright clean store. Very friendly staff! They are also very involved with the surrounding community. Wonderful place to find fresh organic food.
Prices are typical for a twin cities coop, high on some items, low on others. Bulk options are always a good deal. The smoothies in the newer coffee shop area are spendy but amazing. And there are never not cheese samples.
I was there in about a week ago for the very first time and I absolutely love that place. A great customer service in a very awesome people especially the guy who's at the door greeting everyone with the dreadlocks he was amazing put a smile on everyone's face
This is a full service co-op. There's a juice/smoothie bar; deli; salad bar; soup bar; hot food bar; a sandwich shop; bakery; organic produce; bulk nuts, herbs and spices; fresh fish, etc... I love that they have a variety of organic sweet potatoes that are always cheaper than other co-ops and big chain grocery stores. There is plenty of parking space and reserved space close to the door for compact cars. The staff are friendly and helpful.
Such a great resource to have in the neighborhood! Clean, well-stocked, and almost everything we need right near home. Their bulk herbs are an amazing deal and always so fresh!
Normally one of my favorite places to shop at. I had bought a fish oil supplement yesterday July 22nd and decided i didn't need it. So I went back today with my receipt to return it and when I looked at the receipt i realized that it said no sale. Long story short an inexperienced sales women had rang me up incorrectly so it wasn't in the system. I was able to get a store credit, but it was disappointing as I had a plan you buy a different supplement somewhere else. Other than that it's a good place to shop just make sure to read your receipt before leaving
Really great co-cop. Excellent selection, very good prices on most items. The tiramisu from the deli is incredible! The coffee shop is also great. Very convenient when I am in the area.
Love their fresh produce, meats, and wide selection of dry and frozen goods. Very unique items, and a great relationship with Holy Land, the neighboring Middle Eastern restaurant. Very friendly staff, and lots of classes to check out!
We love the quality of food from Eastside Co-op. The smoothies are great and the food from the deli is always satisfying. Weekend brunch is my absolute favorite. The biscuits and gravy are life.
Love Eastside! Closest co-op to us and it's great. I was happy to see recently that they were one of the few businesses in the area that didn't board up their windows during the military occupation.
I love Eastside Food Co-op and have been a member since the beginning. They are set up to be very family friendly with small shopping carts and a chalkboard near the check out. However, so many of their staff members are openly hostile towards children that I dread going there with mine. I understand its a small place and the majority of their shoppers are childless, but children are children and they are not going to act like adults. Maybe its a training issue. If it weren't for that one thing, I would give them 5 stars.
Best of the Coops in Mpls area. Super staff. Food bar not as large as some others but offerings are very well prepared. Juice bar is great. Always clean and staff is SUPER HELPFUL WITH NO ATTITUDE.
This coop makes me happy. Being my neighborhood coop, I visit 2 to 3 times per week. The nicest people work here. A caring staff and vision to make the planet (and Minneapolis) a better place.
Excellent produce quality, good amount of eco friendly and bulk items. Amazingly helpful staff! My favorite local grocery co-op.
This co-op is one of my favorites in the MPLS/STP metro.
They have a really great produce department, local kombucha on tap, a huge bulk section that is awesome because it reduces waste, local cheeses, fresh breads from other bakeries around the cities, local meats, and a really nice hot foods section for lunch/ dinner options.
I also really enjoy shopping in their wellness department where they have a great selection of herbs, supplements, essential oils, bath salts, candles, art jewelry and a great gift selection. I became a member of this co-op because I was so impressed. Keep up the great work!
They have a wonderful selection of fruits and vegetables and other ethnic foods it's great.
I love this place, i get an amazing everything black bean Burger from the deli, with Peper Jack cheeses, Lime aioli, guacamole, red onion, pesto and chipotle southwest mayo. Chips & a pickle, and a peach pineapple Kombucha, BOMB!
They also have whole watermelon with seeds (Dr. Sebi approved for the alkaline vegans)
Enjoy!

Beautiful, bright, clean and filled with local and seasonal foods, products and very friendly and engaging staff. I joined when I first moved here 15 years ago, and this new store is a real gem in NE Minneapolis!
Their of coffee and juice bar, a deli and hot food bar, along with aisles of bulk foods including kombucha and locally made butter, cheeses, artisan breads, bulk coffees and teas from around the world. They also carry some beautiful handmade international products that support grassroots emerging village farmers and craftsmanship. Parking is free and they are easy to find off Central Ave. Swing by!!
I want to love it but I can't at these prices. To be fair to them I moved from uptown where The Wedge is at which is a co-op that is hard to stack up to. Even still the selection here is okay but the prices are absurd. I get some stuff will be more than a chain store but the price differences of things I can find elsewhere is untenable. I've found many things twice the price or more of the exact same thing at Rainbow Foods or such. Nowadays when Target has 20+ varieties of non-dairy milk the list of things I can only find at a co-op is small so I need a reason to come in and the prices certainly don't offer that reason.
Fantastic Co-op! Great selection of all foods and supplements. The store is kept meticulously clean and the staff is quite knowledgeable, should you have a question..
Of all the twin Cities Co-Ops, they have the best hot food bar which can be so clutch when you need a last second meal. Otherwise it's a good layout, and if you're not familiar with the various Co Ops they offer almost anything you'd find at any other location but the fun thing is that each location (Seward, Mississippi Market, LakeWinds, etc) offers something different or unique and it's worth checking them all out. But this one is too notch for sure
By far my favorite food co-op in Minneapolis. It has all our favorite foods, including a large selection of bulk food, and great produce. The staff is also very friendly and helpful. They also extend discounts to members of other local food co-ops.
Been going there for 14 years. A fantastic little grocery store and the coffee and juice bar make great drinks.
Never to busy, outdoor seating, moderate to expensive on groceries. Cheap good coffee amd pastry. Staff are aleays nice and help you with what you need. Eastside Co-Op is always air conditioned in summer. Located right on the 10 bus line
Good coop, although if you go to the front cafe place for a smoothie or food they will tell you they will call your name when it is done but they never do, don’t believe them. I have waited way too long a few times because I was out of the line of sight of the tiny drink counter. I told my wife and she cracked up and said she had the same experience. Minor inconvenience and it is usually because the people working are more focused on socializing, which I am actually OK with. They should just train people not to say that, people like me are way to logical and literally wait until their name is called out.
Good food selection and a great smoothie bar.
This place has really fair price organic food and worth a weekly stop.
It is a very well organized store with neatly marked ailes. Easy to locate for what you are looking for. few of the stuff are expensive but it's due to the organic nature of it. Friendly customer service. Good option of fresh food and juices in the cafe it has.
Nice place to go for grossery shopping.
Well run grocery cooperate. When I need a hard to find fresh ingredient for cooking, I usually can find it here!
Great place to check out locally sourced organic food! Staff is great and willing to help. Associated with East Side Neighborhood Services, which is one of the most beneficial and successful community centers in the Metro Twin Cities.
Fantastic produce and bulk section. Really friendly and helpful staff, honestly never had a bad experience there. Can't recommend highly enough!
In light of everything that was going on, I felt the safest in this co-op. They had everything - there was an occupancy limit, a mask requirement, and someone both taking/sanitizing carts and checking occupancy. I was very impressed!
Super clean with excellent selection and reasonable prices. Awesome choices for quantity purchases, example, you can buy just a singular egg if you want
Great place for fresh fruits and vegetables.
I went there on the off chance they had malt vinegar for some fish and chips I had a hankering for. I almost walked away from their small selection in dismay. Caught my breath, and took a picture of it immediately to send to my husband to check if it would be adequate. It didn't say a thing about putting it on your fish and chips. Just veggies and steak. Hubby said it was a cultural thing, and I had found what I was looking for. CUB had this NO WHERE!! If the co-op failed me, I was about to go into an Irish pub, order a beer and walk out with a "complimentary" malt vinegar! 😅 Not.
My go-to grocery in the neighbourhood. Everyone is always pleasant and helpful. Their bakery case is where the real magic is! So tasty :)
Whit in produce will always point you to the best items!
Their cheese section is pretty broad with a range of prices, and they regularly have Rustica bakery items in stock.
My go-to grocery store. High quality everything, but they're very particular about what they stock. You won't find junk food here. And their prices are much higher than most other stores because their food standards are high (organic, grass-fed, etc).
Real community coop selling real (good) food with coffee, juice bar and public meeting room.
A good place to get fresh and reliable food. The prices are a little higher than some places, even for same brand items, but the price is what you pay for high quality. I like supporting local too.
Most of their food selection is bit pricey for my budget but this is my favorite spot for filling up on bulk spices for a good price using my own cute matching Ball jars.
I'm a member here and love it. Its a bit above my price point for the bulk of my shopping, but I'll stop in for items I just can't find anywhere else. Employees are exceedingly helpful!
This was my favorite co-op years ago when I lived in the area, but has only gotten better since! The selection of foods is wonderful, the staff is amazing, and there's a public suggestion board with replies!
The croissants! They’re so good, half the time they sell out. They are flaky, and delicious. And the mulligatawny soup. Dunk the croissant IN THE SOUP!!! And let’s talk cheese, oh, I can’t, I’m drooling
Love this place, has plenty of very specialized items for organic, vegan, vegetarian, and gluten free needs. You pay a bit more than the average supermarket, but that's to be expected.
Ya it's pricier than like a Cub or something but obviously you knew that going in. Good local produce and healthy options. ALSO THEY HAVE PLASTIC BAG RECYCLING so save your plastic bags.
This is a wonderful little coop with knowledgeable/professional staff, great selections, a lovely cafe and hot-bar options. You can tell you're in Nordeast when you're in the store. Definitely my preferred Twin-Cities coop
We love our local co-op! Staff is super friendly and helpful, and they have dealt with covid very responsibly.
My favorite co-op, they have everything I want. I love the bulk herbs/spices and bulk ingredients. Lots of delicious dairy products as well!
The staff have always been great! The new remodels are awesome. They've got a much larger selection than before and a deli/smoothie bar.
I love shopping at the Eastside Co-op. They only negative is that they not always carry products that are organically grown, USDA. My expectations
that the cost of their products, all should be organically USDA grown and approved. If not, I don't buy the products.
Best coop around. Fantastic bulk selections, medicinal herbs, spices. Probably the best produce in the area. Great staff!
Parking and atmosphere more mellow than the Wedge. People are very friendly. Stock us a little less than m the other coops, but I like this place!
My favorite place to shop. Love the fresh produce and bulk options.
I went to the cafe and discovered they have fresh pressed organic juice and great espresso. I've been moving and starting today like that just gave me an impressive second wind 😂 …
We're able to do 90% or more of our grocery shopping here, which is fantastic since nearly all of those purchases are for locally produced and/or organic products. Amazing how much healthier one eats without thinking about it just by shopping in places such as this.
Quality choices, the wild caught shrimp were as good as you can get here and the the price was unbelievable. They beat Whole Foods by $7.00 per lb.
Best place to shop around. You pay for what you get.. get quality and they are always helpful. They even have signs if the item is local. Love this place.
I can't say I've ever had anything but an excellent experience here. Just bought fresh Norwegian salmon yesterday. Delicious.
My local co-op! Knowledgeable and helpful staff. Small space packed with wide selection. consumables, suppliments, deli/eat in space, bath & body, local and imported textiles. They listen to thier customers requests. ☆☆☆☆☆
Very nicely organized place. The aisles are wide so you dont feel like you can't get through if someone is on one side. Friendly staff.
Nice co-op, good bulk selection, cheese section is small but has what you want, great meats department.
Lol, pretty standard. They take their individual use/unisex bathrooms too seriously, lol. Good for you guys, letting everyone use your bathrooms all the time but, really.... Your bathrooms are for one person at a time. You just put up a plaque, lols. They also offer a waste basket, a recycling basket, and a compost basket, in the bathroom, with the trash basket being the smallest. So, maybe on a busy day, you'll be sitting next to a compost pile, versus sitting above one!
Awesome grocery store in NE Minneapolis. Great selection of fruits, vegetables, cheese, fresh honey and fresh soups. Products are typically cheaper or similarly priced to cub.
Nice. People here take procedures for Covid19 seriously so I was pleased with the way they adapted. Great selection of hard to find items. Great location
Friendly staff, always stocked produce, and plenty of organic options. I'm so grateful for access to such great food so close to my home.
This is my local Co-op and it's almost perfect. It's extremely well thought-out in almost every way. I only wish it had a back or side exit to the parking lot. The people that operate it behave in a way that is more personable and concerned than I've seen anywhere.
Best food co-op in Northeast Minneapolis. Well stocked with organic and vegan choices. Great staff. Well worth the trip.
Great produce, burrito from the deli, bulk selection and prices, and fantastic latte from the café.
Everytime I've gone in to their store. I have been warmly greeted and personal care.. thank you
Little pricey for certain items but great vegan selection and excellent produce
Always enjoy the fabulous variety of fresh, local and organic produce and meats I find. Great staff too!
I love it staff is very helpful and friendly, great costumer service! When I had a situation with my autistic child they were very understanding and make me feel that it was ok.
Amazing little community grocery store.
The employees are very knowledgeable and are always caring. There salad bar is the best in the area, and you must try there juice bar it amazing!!!
Good quality locally grown and organic produce. Excellent bulk department and cheese department. I find the staff to be very friendly and helpful.
I love my Co OP and my phone won't let me do the correct spelling! Great people and I'm pleased to see they are adding more vegan options!
Love my local co-op! Great people work there and they have quality non gmo offerings. Close to home.
Well organized, excellent selection of local products (even hard to find things!), and a great coffee shop right at the entrance!
Easily one of the best food co-ops in the US! They have a great selection of produce, grocery items, health products, and more.
Great store! Great people! Been a member for about ten years. Have seen it grow so much!
Love my neighborhood Co-op! As a founding member I love shopping here multiple times a week. It just keeps getting better & better!
Good selection of organic produce, dairy, meat and dry goods. Staff is personable and always willing to help members find something.
Have had to go through a massive dietary change which comes with questions on lots of new-to-us products. Every time I call or speak with someone, they are super helpful, kind, and knowledgeable!
Remodeled and updated! The store is beautiful and packed full of great choices. Open and fresh!!! Eat local.
Eat fresh and local foods. Nice small coop in N.E. Mpls.
The Eastside Co-op is an great place to shop for local and organic food and products in Northeast Minneapolis. The prices are fair and comparative with large chasing grocery stores.
I love my co-op! I always feel very smart when the check out person asks me if I am an owner and I can answer "Yes"!
Great locally sourced food and produce. Friendly staff. Can be overpriced on certain items and underpriced on others, so shop smart and compare.
Great local store stocked with very healthy and cleanly sourced products!!
I love this bright and cheerful market! I went for the hot/prepared food today. There are so many items to choose. And all tasty!
Beautiful store, friendly and helpful staff. Great prices and selection on plant based meats
Excellent selection and super friendly staff! This store may also have the best COVID measures in place that I’ve seen yet.
Great coffee, freshest produce in Northeast, and the finest unisex public toilets in the city. Try the chicken mulligatawny soup. It's liquid crack!
Great selection of organic, gluten-free, alternative dairy products as well as health and beauty products. Very affordable as well!
It smelled like cheap weed when I walked in, it was filled with tons of hipsters and hippies, and they asked me if I was an "owner," but they have a damn good tiramisu.
This place is small enough to have friendly employees, and big enough to have several brands of the product you need. Added bonus: a coffee/smoothie bar
Great variety, clean store. Very helpful staff! I got everything on my list and then some. I will be back!
This little neighborhood Co-Op is always improving and expanding. Most of their products are locally sourced. The team members know their stuff as well.
I love this place , and have watched the store grow since it's inception, and has a great small town vibe in the big city!
Great selection of local whole bean coffee. The expanded produce section is a plus. Very helpful staff.
I love Eastside Co-op. it is so nice and clean, healthy, and some of the prices are reasonable. I can always find what I want at Eastside. Keep up the good work Eastside.
Love this place. Great selection of everything you need. Buy a membership and you become part of the co op community!
Great place to shop for healthy food. The people who work there are real human beings and treat all us like they would want to be treated.
Sometimes over-priced, usually pretty decent selections of specialty food items, but tends to blend in with the rest of the co-ops in the Twin Cities.
Clean well established, smooth running business. Also holy land deli is just next door. Yum.
Great staff, often good produce sales, and a lovely building. Plus, their muffins and coffee are amazing!
They have a large selection of natural and organic foods, prices for a lot of stuff organic are much cheaper at Aldi
Beautiful, clean small grocer co op. Doesn't require membership. Lots of organic options.
Very friendly people. The workers and fellow shoppers were so engaging.
I will go more often!
They have all the hard to find Natural supplements... Staff is always helpful.Easy to get in and out of their parking lot, unlike another coop in town.
Strangely small variety of bouillon cubes. They used to carry 3-5 kinds. This time there was one kind, and I got the last box.
The remodel is fantastic. I love having a quick lunch from the deli and eating it near the juice bar or outside on the patio.
Food in the deli is on point. I usually get the black bea. Burger and it never disappoints. Friendly staff as well.
Always support your coops. You have to train yourself to shop at a coop. Nothing g else I can say. They have it. If you know what to do with it
Love Eastside co-op. The bulk section is amazing. The hot lemon ginger drink from the juice bar is also a gem.
Lovely place! Clean, organized, and well laid out. As a member at another coop, I felt right at home.
The people are great, good organic food. A little spendy, but well worth it
A bit pricey but they had some good selections
Good community grocery store with a healthy selection. Products you feel good about buying and using.
Love this place. Oh the smell I just love it. The staff is helpful and pleasant. Great customer service!
Excellent. Can be pricey but will sourced and the quality matches the cost.
My favorite co-op in the Twin Cities - not pretentious, really great prices, awesome staff. I just wish I lived closer!
Found what I needed and some interesting food ..good service and nice staff
I've always found what I needed. The staff are always friendly and helpful. The best part is walking in and smelling the amazing food.
Pricey but buying local always is ironically. Other than that I love this place.
Love the place. Visiting with friend. Took me there to shop for her needs. Would return for coffee soon
The new remodel is amazing! Great selection of items you can't find anywhere else. Very friendly staff!!!

Eastside Co-Op is one of my favorite Co-ops that I have been to!
Staff are always helpful and easy to find. I can feel sure I'm getting the highest quality, healthy foods.
I love the organic options and smoothie bar. They have a little bit of everything.
I'm a member of Eastside Food Coop so I am somewhat biased. I love the product options, their comittment to the local community and the folks that work at Eastside!
Good produce, great breads and cheeses. Lots of (expensive) organic items.
Yeah I got my naked juice and left it was a pretty clean store
Love shopping at Eastside Co-op! Fresh produce and bakery good! Very good deli and food bar!
Great as always, $90 for 2 bags full is getting out of there relatively cheap though.
I love the Eastside Co-op! Friendly, helpful and the food choices are high quality and priced appropriately!
Love the renovations, more stock, spacious and clean. Friendly service and handicap accessibility & parking plenty.
Great co-op, on par with the better ones elsewhere in the twin cities. A wide variety of made-to-order items in the deli.
Great co-op. Parking is easy. The staff are always pleasant and seem to really like working there.
Friendly staff and great brand selections. The remodel is amazing, and the prices aren't terribly over the top.
I went in there looking for a specific item, asked one of the people working there to help me find it. He took me directly to the item and we had a nice conversation.
Can be spendy. Still my go to for last minute needs and staples.
Clean, great selection and friendly staff!
All the stuff I like. Best coffee around. I Wish it was an employee owned co-op rather than member owned, but oh well.
Great co-op with fresh produce and nice household items--also has a great community room space!
Only went here for the juice bar but it was great!
Coffee was perfect. Prices are reasonable. There apples were very good...
These people know what we need from a co-op. Love this place and the people who work here.
Great parking, very nice grocery and deli. Don't miss if you like Co-ops.
Great food and atmosphere. Always new and interesting products to try.
Such a Friendly Fun Place to Visit :) Gluten free sandwiches are good too.
If you don't fit the vibe there, be ready to get some looks and attitude!
Clean, nice people, great selections, cost a tad bit high, but worth the time and trip to shop there.
Always a great selection of fresh fruits and vegetables amongst other things!
Nice staff, and I can still get some products I can't find anywhere else anymore.
Love going; such a great supply of food resources, persons health resources and love running into local friends there.
Always the best! 15 years as a member and they are always finding a way to make food and community better for everyone.

Great selection of organic food at reasonable prices, friendly employees.
Great selection, solid prices, tasty treats. Never a bad choice to come here.
Clean, well organised, and full of that overhyped 'organic' stuff that has no actual health benefits, so, you know, everything a you expect from a co-op
