Reviews of Viet Hoa Supermarket
It's a supermarket. Very dirty.
They do have a big inventory of everything. Wow.
Oh, they did have the usual cooked food. That was good. If you have a desire for some real food, come here.
This place has got so many varieties of fishes, seafood and veggies! I already went their couple days and plan to go back for more. Sure it is going to be a must for me to get the fishes!
A great supply of Asian and ethnic goods, foods, ingredients, and so much more at great prices. It seems like they always have an abundance of goods with little walkways towards the back but you can always count on them to have what you're looking for.
Good store, got delicious food. They not selling the things they use to but that's fine
Good parking, and it’s a deep store. Has lots of products.
Was ok could b better with courtesy almost seems like it has to be forced and just tolerating certain demographics
.
I am very interested in trying the produce and Kim chi they sell. I also like tropical drinks, jasmine and oolong teas. The cashier was talkative to the other customers, but didn't give me a salutation or say thanks, although he willingly greeted others. I don't think people should give a one sided salutation to people when they spend their money.
I enjoy shopping here. They have so much variety. Not a large selection of fresh meets. However a ton of frozen meats. I like their tea and noddle selections the most. I could spend hours in the market exploring the shelves but if I take "too" much time I usually have someone following(watching) me around the store!
Was in town visiting family and needed Asian groceries for meal prep. This is such a fun little supermarket! Very friendly staff and pretty good selection in a small place. I'll be back!
My husband and I were impressed with how large this market is and the variety of items they carry! We especially appreciated the wide range of mushrooms (both fresh and dried), noodles, sauces and soups (Ramen-style) they offer. I've never seen that many styles of instant soups in my life! Haha We also felt the prices were fair and the staff was very friendly. We're excited to have discovered this place and will definitely be going back :) Thank you, Viet Hoa!
I love shopping at Viet Hoa. They have an intetesting selection of unusual produce and an impressive real butcher case with a friendly butcher! The place is packed full of food I have never seen before and have no idea what to do with. It would be nice if they labeled everything so I can at least look up how to use it. I've suggested they offer cooking demos, but almost everyone shopping is Asian and do not require cooking demos. They also sell NO dairy, which can be inconvenient. Do Asians not eat dairy? ☺
Fresh produce, good meat counter, excellent selection. Overall pretty good place to get Asian groceries. To be five stars it needs a bakery, cafe, and fish tanks full of live fish but other than that, it's pretty good. Nice location, easy parking. Four stars!
My wife and I took a tour of all the Asian markets in Milwaukee. We liked this one best. As a new Vietnamese arrival, she was able to find everything she needed to make dishes just like in her homeland. They even had Cholimex chili sauce which is rarely found in the States. Lucky me, I get to eat Bun Thit Nuong tonight. I only give them four stars because they don't turn the heat on in the store. I think it was warmer outside on the street.
Great oriental store here on northside of milwaukee. Right next to police station. They have a variety of oriental product's. Customer service is excellent. I would recommend this store to anyone in need of oriental food and other oriental needs. Also meat quality here is the best. Always fresh.
A great Asian mart where you can get lost for hours as the selection is so varied and huge. Great deals on bulk bok choy, garlic, ginger, bean sprouts, mushrooms, hot peppers, etc. Know what you're looking for or you might not come out till the New Year!
This place has so much it's almost overwhelming, but I was able to find an employee who helped me locate exactly what I was looking for. Nothing here is labeled in English, so you have to know exactly what you need before going in. The store is large and clean and offers a large variety of fresh, frozen, canned and packaged items as well as a meat and seafood department.
They have plenty of Asian products, good for if you are making a large family dinner or going to a party. Impress your friends with the exotic ingredients there. They also have ready made snacks. Some of them are good to grab and go while does require a little microwaving but they are nonetheless very good, that is if you are Asian and liked them to begin with.
They have a nice selection. Store is dirty and staff is rude. They could spend more time cleaning and organizing rather than sitting on their phones. If you're going to have carts in the store then you should make aisles that can fit 2 carts or get smaller carts.
This market is geared towards Asian foods. I find that this place has a good variety of foods from the Southeast. The produce seems to in good condition most of the time; there are some occasions where some of the fruits are starting to spoil & they would still be available to buy, but I just don't buy them based on their condition. Usually, the store gets rid of the spoiled stuff. The meats are decent based on the few times that I have bought them. I haven't bought anything that I had to return so far so I've been lucky at this place. Note that this is based on my experiences with this market so opinions might vary, but I don't have any dire issues with this place.
This little Asian market packs a punch! It looks like a convenient store from the outside but it is packed in the inside. It pretty much has everything you might ever need to cook Chinese or Vietnamese food. The owner is also very friendly and nice.
Certified dank. But they have everything and check out doesn't take too long, so it's worth the trip. They have Japanese, Korean, Thai, Chinese, and Vietnamese specialties. Pay special attention to the very very reasonably priced produce. They also have a great selection of noodles, sauces and kimchi.
The only place I know that carries the herbs and vegetables I need for certain Laotian and Thai recipes. offers a great selection to suit anyone with a palate for asian ingredients. It's easy to miss the store location. It sits on the corner, with street parking only as far as I know. Half a block away from it is a very busy intersection. Store on the inside is bigger than what it looks on the outside. I'm not too positive about it's meat department. I'm always iffy when it comes to asian stores and fresh unfrozen raw meat. Otherwise than that it's my go-to asian supermarket.
They have so many regional items here that I haven't been able to find anywhere else! For example, all the ma po tofu ingredients - this includes Sichaun peppercorns and doubanjiang. Not to mention all the produce and fresh sweet items. This is my go-to Chinese & southeast Asian grocery store. Just check expiration dates yourself and you'll be fine.
If you can't find it here, it doesn't exist. This supermarket is huge, with loads of fresh produce, frozen sides, condiments, dried noodles, beans and rice. We shop here for a lot of specialty items, like sea vegetables, Korean-style ramen, ready-made dumplings, and red rice.
Great place and lots of varieties. They always have great customer service and know exactly what you ask for. I’ve been around a lot of Asian stores in Minnesota and this is a great choice of a store in the Milwaukee community. Great job!!!
They have the best prices among the Asian grocery stores, and one of the widest selections. They don't carry many Japanese items, but I can usually get all of my Korean necessities.
It's a smaller asian store but they have still have everything like the bigger asian stores. It is kind of to tight stroll a shopping cart around but they do have shopping carts available and baskets. They offer a good variety of herbs and vegetables and most of the time they're fresh and pretty.
A neighborhood Asian "Ma and Pa" mini grocery store that tries to pack in as much as possible in their limited space. I was looking for the refrigerated cylinder rice cakes which they didn't have. However, they did carry frozen sphere sliced. This little store does the job if you're looking for Asian cooking items and groceries.
Pretty good store, just remember to always check the expiration dates on the products
Have always loved coming her since I was little. Very reasonable prices and the workers are always very nice. Some don't speak very good english, but they really try to help you! :) Always friendly there and always find what I'm looking for! Also impressed with their asian kitchenware section!!
Convenient with good service. Has fresh produce, butcher's section available, extensive frozen fish and fish products, wide variety of noodles and sauces, a side room with kitchen ware, nearby parking lot, will carry rice bags to your car
Always love coming here. They have meats and fish that no one else does. Whole ducks. And then some! Fantastic looking fresh produce. Perfect for soups! We will come again.
I had called ahead and talked to I guess the owner, Bill Chung. I had never been to this Asian grocery store before. I needed something's you can only find at Asian grocery stores.
I was sure they had what I needed when I talked to Mr. Chung. To say the least, I had a great experience that you don't ordinarily get shopping for groceries anywhere. The people working there were truly helpful despite some language problems, but the really remarkable most auspicious quality was the man himself, whom I talked to on the phone, Mr. Bill Chung.
I have to add my own disclaimer thought. And that is, I will be back more often then I ever have been to this Asian grocery.
Bitter Mellon, they have it. Just to stimulate anyone's interested. They even have it in tea form along with magostean tea, etc. So blessed living in, Milwaukee!
Been going here with my mom since I was a kid and am now going as an adult. They're a small store but have SO many things that are hard to find in other asian stores. I can usually get everything I need here and the staff has always been very kind to us. The only thing I don't really care for are the (seemingly) homeless people that are always smoking and hovering around the entrance and building...the neighborhood isn't great even though the police station is right next door.
Butcher, Asian vegetables, seafood, tons of sauces, rice, noodles and more. Our family frequents this shop for food supplies. Not the best in decor but the goods are usually fresh and that's the most important.
I was trying to find gobo (burdock) to make kinpira for New Year's Day. I looked at my usual Asian markets and could not find any. I went to Viet Hoa for the first time. I was surprised at how big it is and what a wide variety of fresh produce, meats and packaged goods they have in stock. From the outside it looks like a small corner convenience store but it almost fills the whole building the size of a supermarket. I found my gobo there. Prices are competitive with the Asian markets I usually go to. I will definitely go back.
The owner was very nice and helpful. I called before coming to ask about post baby medicine. He didn't have it but he made sure he ordered it before I came. He also kept some thit heo quay for me too. This is the type of hospitality I appreciate. The owner showed me specifically where the things I needed to buy my pho seasonings were as well. Traditional viet market. 2 thumbs up
They have majority if the product that I need. I would only rate a 3 star because of the condition of the floor and the area that needs to be prepare. Also, for new comer, be warn of the area. It is not a good neighborhood.
Food cost are keep getting expensive and this place marks up even more. They do however carry most Asian items.
It was okay. There were like 5 or 6 cardboardand that were all opened up. Laying flat on the ground. Not on top of each other. It seems like they did this to prevent customer's wet shoes from getting their floor dirty. This could've cause slip to customers.
You find most Asian food especially Vietnamese food here but remember to check the expiry date before buying.
They have a great selection and a lot of everything they carry. They have produce, rice, sauces, pastes, noodles, drinks and desserts. They were out of snackable seaweed but they'll get some next week.
A great place for fresh vegetables needed for Asian cuisine. Many different sauces and seasonings as well.
Not clean. Outdated vegetables . Remember to check date of foods.
We don't get to that part of Milwaukee often enough, but when we do we always visit here. Some of the best vegetables in town for making Korean dishes with.
Had everything we needed to make our thai recipes. Thai Eggplant, Rice, Eggrolls. Will be back for all of our asian groceries. Thank yoi so much from bring Thailand to Milwaukee!
I would say if you gonna find something southeast asian decent then you will find want you need but don't expect neatly arrange products and marked price. It's a headache to find something but once you been there a couple time, you'll know you way around.
The store is full of awesome stuff and is a typical asian market. My only issue is that it is incredibly disorganized and some stuff hard to find, but if you want it, its probably there somewhere
Fresh meat are always good. Haven't experience anything bad. Great customer service and my to go one stop for any meal!
Prize is a little too high, and the store is not really organized... but yep, u can find asian food and products there
This little Asian store has so many good things to buy. You need to stop buy and seeing what you would like to see.
I love this little market, whenever I'm in need for some fresh papaya salad I go here and they always have it. Made fresh daily.
I always enjoy shopping there you can find just about anything that you need to do your cooking
Anything you are looking for that has to do with Asian cooking you can find here. If you are into ramen noodles, they must have st least 50 varieties!
Check the expiration date on their canned fruit drinks. I drank a can of funny tasting coconut juice and noticed the yellow coconut meant in the can. The can was one year expired.
Great selection of top Ramen not very good selection of men fall they only had the small bottle and it was quite pricey and there was no cute Asian chicks which is why I go to these places
I like going there for Asian recipes ingredientes, I recommend this place.
One of my favorites Vietnamese store! Every time I visit my family in Milwaukee I will also do my grocery shopping. :)
Much bigger than it appears from outside. Large selection. The only place in town where I've found fresh tofu and soy milk.
Great selection! The produce was fresh and I've been happy with all of the products I've purchased so far.
Its a friendly place, GREAT place to shop for everything you need to make egg rolls and to buy Vietnamese stuff to cook with.
I've been going here for over a decade and they usually have what i am looking for. It needs renovation, but the products they sell are decent.
It puts the "no" in no-frills, but the selections more than make up for that. And, once you compare their prices to the same items in standard grocery stores, you'll never want to go anywhere else.
I love this store. You can get the best Asian food in Wisconsin here.
Amazing variety of Asian specialty items, seafood, and noodles. Good prices and friendly grocers!
A nice Asian store, you can find a lot of different things there. I love going there.
i love it they have the most interesting food ever.
selection in the store is just fabulous customer service was great I'm going to tell all my friends about the store I will be back
I love that store they have excellent food and good prices.
My favorite Asian grocery store in MKE. Usually just a one stop shop for me when I go here.
Compares to my city, this Market is pretty good. Some food and fruit are better prices.
Big Asian food store in Milwaukee, next to the third district P.D. I wish I would have bought the building years ago?
love this place, always in stock of everything, fresh produce and consistent ;)
Always friendly even though they don't expect me and my kids to like shopping there. We do.
So many choices of so many things! I go there to find things I can't get at a traditional grocery store.
They have a lot to choose from
It is a small place. But it has most of the stuff that I want. So overall, it is not bad.
Small store with a lot of inventory, but couldn't find what I wanted. Limited staffs to ask for help.
A lot of varieties of foods, easy to find, nice peoples works there..
Good market to find Asian products..it's amazing what you could find.
It's a lot bigger than it seems and I went in and found everything I was looking for!
Nice, clean, smells better than others! Everything is stocked! Thank you
Excellent variety and items not carried at a typical supermarket
Vietnamese Iced Coffee cooler treats. Rice. Greens. Noodles. Pastes.
Awesome selection, a lil pricey some items
IMO Viet Hoa is the best Asian market in the metro milwaukee area
Has most anything you would want in East Asian foods.
Absent of customer service. Higher prices compared to other Asian specialty stores. Shop around if possible.
They always have everything I need, and they really friendly with customers.
Very convenient Asian store.
Found some delicious trumpet oyster and beech mushrooms
I found what I wanted and checked out quickly.
Best Asian produce I’ve found in Milwaukee.
Authentic Vietnamese grocery store. Somewhat chaotic but everything similar to store in old country.
Great place for all your Asian food needs.
Make sure to check out the side room with kitchen utensils like rice cookers, woks, knives etc.
I wish they were friendly and shared recipes.

Great selection and staff was very helpful to this clueless white boy trying to make a recipe. Pork belly was really good from meat section.
Great to find a stocked Pan Asian market since leaving NJ for MKE. Staples from all over China, Korea, SE Asia. And they have the Laotian style sausage made in Mosinee WI by Hmong butchers.
