The last old school grocery store in the city. When you enter, it is like emerging from your time machine and walking into 1982! The store in not enormous like these new facilities in town, and everyone who works there is friendly. They are easy to find, and have ample parking. There is a gas station right across the street, along with a church, school, and awesome park nearby. Inside it is full service except there is no floral department, and no cashback at the register. The produce section has everything you need, there is an awesome bakery, and they have a nice selection of beverages, diary, and meats (for how quaint and nostalgic this supermarket is, they still have a butcher!), and you can pick up spirits if needed. A hidden magical discovery we made about this store is they have a hot deli section that offers AMAZING food to go! They have a nice variety (including fish fry, ribs, meatloaf, mac and cheese, fried chicken, wedges, breakfast, are reasonably priced, and EVERYTHING IS DELICIOUS! Pair some finds with items from the cold side like cole slaw and grab some Sprecher and you WIN! When nearby, and they are open, why would we ever go anywhere else for hot food to go? We wouldn't! You are welcome.

I went looking for the smiley face cookies, or there shadow cookies they didn't have any. I ended up getting some cod and catfish as well as egg salad. The fish was okay.

They were almost all out of wet cat food. I mean there were like 3 cans left, except for kitten food. Nuts! Rows of empty shelves.... Employees/cashiers are nice but it's lousy to go to a store and see bare shelves.

Very good old fashioned service. All the staff are helpful. The store is clean and well stocked. However the prices are very inflated as is every grocery store. Its a good place to stop for a quick pickup for a few items.

Common Sense

Purchased some Mustard and Turnip greens. The Turnips were somewhat fresh and fairly clean. The Mustards were wilted and really dirty. I had to wash them 3 times to get them clean. But you better believe I will enjoy them cooked with my smoked hammock.

What an interesting place to shop. The selection is fine, although other stores in the area have a broader selection. The other shoppers always have individuals who are an interesting difference from people I usually encounter, regardless of the day or time shopping there.

This Sentry is pretty low key. A lot of people prefer that; as do I. I wasn't navigating around people constantly like at other grocery stores. It's a smaller store but they have what I generally need. These days I'm used to the Super Center and so on where everything is in one place. That's convenient but generally speaking those places will sacrifice quality over quantity. I would have given it four stars if the customer service was better. I've been to this location several times so it wasn't a chance encounter. When I was a teenager and as an adult I've worked in customer service from grocery stores to high end manufacturing. I know what's supposed to be. Unfortunately customer service across the board has gone down hill and it's sad.

I always have a good shopping experience here. The owners and workers live in the area and I always get a feeling of community here. Their meats and produce are fresh. The store can get a little crowded at times, I think it's because it's a good place to shop. The store also helps out people in the community throughout the year ,such as having a hat and glove tree at Christmas and costumers can buy pre-bagged groceries that goes to a local food pantry at different times of the year. Precovid,the store would also sell freshly cooked hot dogs in their parking lot at different times throughout the warm weather months. Hot ham and rolls were also popular with the neighbors after church on Sundays. Their deli has a good variety too! Great for a quick dinner fix or grabbing something for an impromptu picnic or road trip!

Most staff are very fast and very friendly, but the owner needs to either add self checkout lanes or more staff. When you have only 2 lanes open and a busy store, people will walk out and go elsewhere. One very crabby older woman closed her lane and told a customer that she wouldn't take anyone else, yet no one opened another lane. Self checkouts would cost money, but increase traffic.
