So we stumbled across this place and it has become our favorite grocery store in town. Everything they have is fresh and taste great. But also, they have all the varieties you would need along with a great price. The staff is always super friendly and welcoming.

2010 I moved here from Chicago been a produce fan ever since I shop there at least once a week they have the best deals I ever seen in my life I'll never forget they had a basket of peppers for $2 that's all what is this $2 a pound there's no the whole basket for $2 I was shocked I used to buy Frozen cases of blueberries and strawberries clean them up freeze them and make homemade yogurt fruit smoothies thanks Pete stay open man don't you close

The produce, meats, deli and much more is so reasonably priced! They sell fruit and vegetable items in baskets which are coming close to expiration, May have a bruise or are not perfect for pennies on the dollar compared to most food stores! I’ve bought cases of blueberries, strawberries, raspberries for between the cost of $4.00-6.00, per case when normally a single pint of the 12 pints in the case would cost 2.99 alone at most stores! The baskets of Peppers, asparagus,tomatoes,grapes,oranges, and many other varieties of fruits/veggies range between $1.00 -3.00. Cases of bananas for $3.00-5.00. The fresh meats are great and the prices can hardly be beat. The deli offers traditional foods prepared daily! I love their Chicharróns. The staff is friendly and assertive to your needs! I wish I would have known about Pete’s long before I had! They can order tough to find items on request! The variety of fresh fruits and vegetables at this store are not common in a lot of other chain stores!

ARE YOU KIDDING ME???? I've live in this city for over several score of years and NEVER knew about this glorious find. Sick and tired of corporate grocery stores, sterile produce, I took it upon myself to find the best produce store in Milwaukee. Find it I did. The store is immaculate with vegetables from all over the America's, many of which I have never heard, but will experiment at will. Hot peppers of all varieties, fruits that explode in your mouth like the bottom of a waterfall, veggies that actually have flavor...I could go on and on but the attached pictures will speak a million words...what they won't say, is how nice and humble ALL the workers are...with beautiful atmospheric upbeat Latin music to casually stroll the many, many, aisles, of the colorful spectrum of produce...it will dazzle your eyes and make you reach for your camera! A bonus...you don't have to worry about parking...Pete's Fruits have a gated parking lot with plenty of space. This is a FIVE star experience. I hope that you heard it here first....I just love to share good things.

Most produce looked fantastic. They had some baskets that were clearly on their last legs but they were priced accordingly at just $1. I got 2 cases of strawberries, and around 5 pounds each of brussel sprouts and zucchini all for less than $14. Great value! Plenty of parking and several staff were friendly and greeted me with smiles.

The best reasons I like going for walks is that u often stumble upon wonderful treasures. Such as Pete's fruit Market it has a plethora selections ,cheap produce and most of all a chance to try food you have never had before. Example: yellow dragon fruit, I have had the red asian dragon fruit numerous times each time disappointed by the taste. But the lesser known yellow is infinitely better it like a luscious mix of kiwi and watermelon so sweet syrupy and deliciously perfect for snacking on the porch on a hot summers night. Update : 10/9/22 On today's game of the weirdest food I can find I give u Rambutan full of potassium, a mineral that helps your heart beat, kidneys function, and muscles contract. Rambutans are rich in vitamin C, which is a potent antioxidant. Consuming antioxidants helps fight off free radicals, which are waste products in your body that can damage your cells.

Pete's Fruit Market is an awesome place to shop. There's an excellent amount of different varieties and unique produce to choose from. The prices are reasonable and the quality is good. I enjoy shopping in the morning time and appreciate the helpful staff members professionalism and politeness. I'm a repeat customer and will definitely be going back to shop on a regular basis.

Greatest deals on fresh fruits and vegetables, including organic. The best deals are on slightly older items. Tubs of tomatoes, colorful bell peppers, bananas, grapes, onions, apples, potatoes, you get the idea. All tubs are $1, $2, $3, $4. It can't be beat. Yesterday they had cases of blueberries for $9. There were probably 12 containers of perfectly good blueberries per case. It's a grocery store with a deli, hot soup, a meat department, lots of snacks and candy, Amish rotisserie chickens, bags of fresh tamales, cakes and other desserts... Their claim to fame is fruits and vegetables. In summer there are bedding plants/annuals, vegs, perennials... Watermelons whole or cut are available year round. A food truck is open in the parking lot for your dining pleasure or to quench your thirst. There are a couple tables to sit while you eat. 1400 S. Union St., just south off S. Greenfield Ave.

I love Pete's Fruit Market! They have spectacular produce deals, and I couldn't believe how much I could get! I love the fact I can get my favorite condiments (Hot sauce is life), and also a lot of staples! They have a giant section for just spices and herbs. Good Spanish music to dance to, as you stroll thru the store. Used a $25 Gift Card, which is also "Re-loadable. Seen many families shopping, w/children making choices, too.

Love this place! If you are willing to cut up and freeze or cook the same day you make your purchase there are some great deals on soon to be expired or imperfect produce. They are HAPPY to give you a sample bite of any produce you are unfamiliar with. Great prices on fresh chicken legs too. Good deli located in the back, check it out!

Great little store. They have a wide variety of mostly seasonal produce. in the front and a little carniceria/deli in the back. They have a few aisles of some dry goods like beans, nuts, rice, and a few assorted home items. Everything there is fresh and affordable. It's a good place to find some Hispanic specialty items. The staff is friendly and helpful and most of them are Spanish speaking/bilingual.

Awesome selection deals. Definitely recommend this store for your vegetables and fruit needs. Offers specials on selected items. For example, will have cases of strawberries for 5$ just have to use them quickly. I froze mine after I wash them when I got home, perfect. Great way to support our local buisness.

First of all the service is excellent. The staff is so helpful and pleasant to talk with. If you need help finding anything they will take you right to it, and their prices are unbeatable. They are a honest well affordable market! And they have so much variety to choose from. A lot more then anywhere else but the quality is why I give it 5 stars. Its as fresh as can be. You could not find 1 bad berry in their berries section! Im glad this place is nearby, but even if it wasn’t its worth the drive! Its the best fruit market in the midwest!

Excellent place to buy affordable produce! The deals are amazing... Buckets of fruits and vegetables for $1-$3. Staff is very helpful and there is always interesting variety. Just be aware that much of these deals are due to items being on the edge of overripe, so they will go bad in a few days if you don't prep them right away. If you are prepared to cook and freeze your produce, this is an excellent place to shop.

A very good produce market. A wide variety of fruits and vegetables. Everything you need to prepare traditional Mexican dishes. They also have great prices on bulk purchases. We bought a case of strawberries (6 cartons) for $6.00. They also sell prepared food like chicken and tamales. The place is always clean and well stocked. The staff is friendly and helpful. This is our "go to" place for produce.

The best place to buy fruit because it's so darn inexpensive. Only problem is it's is very ripe when you buy it at a cheap price. You can buy bananas for a dollar and you will get 15 of them but you better be prepared to eat all 15 in the next 2 days. They also have other fruits that you don't see at most places. I found this place to be conveniently located on the intersection of a small business district. Walking through this place as I shopped, was quite enjoyable. Not only do they have a fantastic selection of produce, but there is a variety of other things there too. What did I find on my visit? The first thing I noticed was how impeccably clean and well maintained this store was, especially for being a fruit market. Then there was the merchandise. Produce of all kinds, a meat department, a small grocery area, juices and sodas, a small line of nice cookware, very polite and warm employees, and hot food being sold at a deli counter. Most importantly, the place is full of customers. Absolutely amazing! My stop here was intentional. I was informed that they had something I was looking for, and yes they did. They sell produce a couple different ways. 1st the usual way you choose the amount you want, weigh it and pay the price of the weight. 2nd way there are baskets of many kinds of produce, each basket weighs 3lbs. The price for the basket 1-3 dollars, I'm not kidding. Maybe the produce isn't all perfect in the basket but allot of it is. There sometimes are crates of berries(maybe 12 packages in each crate? )$5.00 each crate or maybe a little more but 12 packages in each crate... WOW!!! ❤LOVE THIS PLACE❤

Only thing to be careful for is the prices are so good because they are sometimes imperfect or need to be used farelly quickly after purchase. A long time fixture in the south side of the city Milwaukee. Selling primarily fruit. Some of which is overripe. Over the years they have improved the quality and do have other products as well. They have a few locations now in the city and one can find anything from apples to zucchini. And everything in between. Pineapple is always a good choice at generally bargain prices.

I haven't visited Pete's in about 3 months due to the lack of attention I got from a teenage guy at the deli. Today I came back and saw big improvements. The hot food at the deli was great and the teenage girl that attended me was fast! I ordered 5 things and in less than a minute they were in front of my face! I'm very glad with the service I got from cashiers, especially the young lady at the deli. I will for sure be visiting more often!

Great prices for the bulk fruit baskets, definitely worth it even though some of the bulk packs will usually have some rotten or nearly bad produce. Even with what you end up throwing away still significantly cheaper than the grocery store.

This is an interesting store, with baskets of inexpensive fruits and vegetables at low prices. They sometimes have flats of older produce at clearance prices behind the register. There are usually free samples, the deli has premade Hispanic Staples and you can order taqueria type entrees to go. Outside is a Hispanic style ice cream truck and in the summer they have agua fresca.

I like the fruit basket, but the refrigeration of the meat needs to be more colder for it can be preserved on the way home. The two female mexican cashier on front are unfriendly, I say hello to them and they don't say anything back, always with the angry face.

When I was checking out I told the woman I didn't know what the food truck all had because I don't speak Spanish but I knew I wanted some corn. So she called a wonderful young man named TJ over you go out there with me and help me out. I got my corn and some ice cream which was delicious. I can't wait for tge one on MLK and North to open only because its closer.
