Reviews of Healthy Living
Ethan Nappi
Chef Mike at Healthy Living was kind enough to provide catering for a special event on short notice and while short staffed. The food tasted and looked amazing. We got all vegetarian and vegan options, and even the meat lovers raved about it. Everyone complimented the "spread" and said they would be going to Healthy Living for their catering needs. We highly recommend Healthy Living and Chef Mike. We want to thank you for saving our event and contributing to a very special day. Thank you so much.

Been coming here since it was a smaller store at another location. Love it! Great selection. Yummy local treats. I always seem to go when the deli is closed, so can’t rate that. Grab and go doesn’t have much for vegan meals. And the layout is a little confusing in the interior of the store. Otherwise, I’m a huge fan.
Marie Mandet
Nice shop with lots of choices!
A little pricey but that’s what you have to pay to get some quality organic food! For some items prices are actually better than other organic shops!
I like the layout of the store, not as conventional as other stores with many different aisles and directions!
Customer service is always kind.
Kimmie DB
This healthy grocery store is amazing. It has everything healthy plus ++. You can actually get lost in the store because of the many different directions of the aisles. There's always something new and interesting in each aisle.
Would definitely recommend this healthy food store 👍 …

Hate hate hate the way this store is laid out! It is some kind of attempt to get one to see more if the store while trying to find their way out. Everyone I've ever talked to says the same thing. The hot food section is always disappointing. Great cafe section though. Prices are... well there's a reason it's called Wealthy Living. If it's a coin toss, definitely choose City Market.
Update: someone named Eli (presumed) from Healthy Living has responded that I shouldn't use the word hate. Apparently "real humans" are not allowed to use the word hate. Unfortunately Eli didn't actually address the issue which he (?) knows comes up a lot. Secondly, Eli has somehow taken this personal. Well Eli! None of my review was directed at the people who work at Healthy Living who have always been kind and helpful. And who most certainly have nothing to do with the terrible layout in the store.

The name of the place is exactly what you would expect inside. Food and products that are good for you and the environment. Local products are always available. Great wine and beer options with huge sales. You have to visit to believe it. Sidenote thier reusable bags are the biggest and best bags available.
Max Charp
Beautiful store with great selection of prep meals
Vermont Life
I had a great experience at Healthy Living. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, they were always able to answer any questions I had. I will definitely be back in the future!
DEBO ADENEKAN
Such a fun, healthy grocery market. Each aisle seems packed with healthy options and multiple options. Nice section for salad bar, juice bar, bakery and hot bar. And they even have a plug-ins for Energy efficient cars. We loved it! It could be a Trader Joe's sister. Lol
Linda
Good healthy product line. Too expensive to do all my basic shopping, though. Store layout is extremely difficult to maneuver.
Dustan D
Craziest store layout I have ever seen random aisles at all angles. But they do have lots of organic things if your into that. And good restrooms once you find them.
Kate Zaccaro
I really never leave reviews but had to for here, the staff is always so so nice and happy, the place is always clean and honestly the best sushi so far since we moved here it’s been hard to find a place. All around awesome! Ohhhhh and the best crème brûlée ❤️❤️❤️
Jonathan Bradley
This is the most expensive grocery store I've been in inside the US. It seems that the prices are artificially high to make it trendier. I see no difference in the quality of food from the grocery store across the street or the other grocery store across the street. The breakfast sandwiches are luke warm and hard from sitting out too long. Waaaaaayyyyy over priced.
Emily Wilson
Stopped for lunch, not grocery shopping. Worked out well and everyone found something good. I especially liked the many gluten free baked goods and delicious coffee.
Ellie Dombrowski
Great gluten free and vegan options. Has tons of healthy selections without being too expensive.
Klaus Voos
Greatest health food store in the USA
Chicklet Face
I love this store, a tad pricey on some items, reasonable prices on others, and great variety. I love this store...said that already 😁 …
Deb Rawdon
Love their products, but especially their produce and meat selections. I thoroughly enjoy visiting here each time I am in Burlington.
Ellen Skapski
A little pricey, but a good place to buy bulk foods and spices. Lots of organic and healthy food.
John Rowe
Great selection of beverages and pre made foods if you're intown and in a hurry
F G
The layout of this store is very confusing to me but they have very high end imports and local product.

Thanks Healthy Living for supporting the adoption of EV vehicles by hosting Tesla Superchargers at this and the Williston location!@#$%&
After charging my Model S here for the last year, I've come to realize what a superior "supermarket" Healthy Living is.
The literal reality is that most supermarkets aren't really super. Aside from a voluminous variety, most are pretty ordinary. Healthy Living truly is super!
Obviously, they have organic produce, meats and products. But they have a large selection of items from Vermont farms and bakeries that can't be found elsewhere. They even have fresh seafood including sushi tuna and caviar for those looking to glam it up!
They have lots of prepared food options for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. There is a coffee bar with smoothies. The selection of sweeteners for your beverages is unsurpassed; sugars, honey, simple syrup, and MAPLE SYRUP!
The best part of Healthy Living, though, is their fresh sushi selection. It is light years ahead in quality. The tuna they use is vastly superior to what you see at other stores. All the other seafood is also super fresh quality. My favorite is the Healthy Living roll with rice paper, cucumber, carrot, avocado, lettuce and tuna or salmon. Thank you chefs!
And if you have a sweet tooth, they have a great selection, even gluten free options. The Basque cheesecake is a $3 slice of heaven!
Treat your body like a temple and feed it some mana.
A better you is waiting.
Tom Sealey
Upscale market, with prices that reflect that, although not unreasonably. Great for vegetarians and vegans. Excellent sushi. Floor staff could be more personable. I don't mean they need to be bend over backwards helpful, but a simple hello goes a long way. Everyone is nice, not rude, but I'm not sure I would call them friendly.
Troy Frostad
Fresh, local products and a helpful staff. Great for local produce, meats and cheeses as well as a good deli/hot & cold bar. Be aware that it does cost more to shop here versus the larger chain stores.
Ci Ci
First time visited the store, love it, 👍better than Whole Foods , will definitely come back whenever I am in the area. …
Christopher Howard
good products, great workers but some high prices and low stock
for favorets/usuals.
Nita Bodette
This use to be my "go to" when I needed a sweet treat for myself or friends. They stopped making my favorites for awhile and now they're back! The main selection can be found in the Cafe area's bakery case. Some of my faves: Eclairs with cream instead of yucky custard, creme brulee and these delightful tiny chocolate hearts that make an absolutely perfect "I'm thinking about you" gift. Enjoy
Zachary Charles
First time coming in, it took a minute or two to figure out the layout of the store but found everything I was looking for. The sushi was delicious and the cashier was extremely kind and friendly, and seemed like she genuinely wanted to be working here.
Ann usa
Clean and neat place. When I visited VT, I can find nice suvenia for my friends.
Richard Cross
I love the boutique style food items they have here. If you're looking for something unique (rosemary almonds anyone?) check them out. It's fairly expensive if you use this as a primary food source though. Use this store to supplement another source.
Nicole Reynolds
Found dairy free butter and very cheap dairy free yogurt. I absolutely love this place very friendly staff.
Joshua Scowcroft
Great selection, prices are a little steep but fair, the layout has always been strange to me so I’d take a star off of the rating for the strange labyrinthesque store design. If you are looking for market selection though, this particular location can’t be beat!
camie opulski
Only place I shop now. High end healthy foods and lots of little extras. The ready to go is diverse and exotic. Sushi are fresh, choice meats and vegetables. Coffee and desert pub. The staff are alive and vibrant.
James Peoples
This place is a maze. The lay out is impossible to make sense of. The selection is good, the products are great, but it is expensive. More expensive than a similar market that also wears green aprons, just saying. However the staff are generally very friendly and the food is very good. I would recommend going to the one in Williston simply because it's way easier to navigate.
Scott Rose
This place is far superior than any Whole Foods Market I have ever visited in the country! They carry everything you could ever ask for! They also don’t shy away from high fat animal products, like liver pates, full fat plain yogurt, pork rinds, ribeyes, beef jerky, fresh lobster meat, and more! If you are on a keto/carnivore diet like me, this place is truly a gem of a natural foods grocery store! Highly recommend!
Kristina Ennis
Healthy living market is all right. Reminds me of whole foods including the expensive prices. When I told someone I was going to trader Joe's they told me that healthy living market was much better and I shouldn't miss it. However, the prices at trader Joe's and all the yummy trader Joe brands top this store easily.
Nick Raask
Great selection of vegan products. Whole experience was easily 5 stars until we reached the checkout and some worker is rudely individually redirecting people from the lines they got in based off the stickers on the ground. Need a better system. Cashier was friendly.
Andrea Tremols
This is one of the few grocery stores where I can find everything I need. I have a lot of allergies and I can always find something wonderful here that I can eat. My dietary restrictions make it difficult for me to buy groceries the Healthy Living always does a great job.
Robert C
Extremely large selection of food and household supplies. Well organized but sometimes overwhelming trying to find items, I only shop here a couple of times a month, so the workers do go out of their way to help. Great food in the Cafe and the sit down area was nice before COVID shut it down. Big parking lot as well. Probably more to the business I just haven't seen yet.
Trisha Watson
Just love this market. Even my 11yo is captivated going in here. Just wish it was closer to where we live. Such a huge assortment of vegan options, it's like my candy store! We only make it here a couple times a year so we take our time and look at everything. So many items we can't find, even in other coops.
Michele Bennett
I was visiting my son and stopped in to check it out. Great variety of products. Prices comparable to similar stores. Staff was friendly.
Briana Bird
I like that this place has options that are both gluten free and options that are vegan. I am surprised though for a place like this that they don't have more options. Is hoped to find things the grocery chains near me no longer have but they don't carry the vegan items either. They do have a lot of organic and such which I know many people are also looking for. I do like how many options they have for buying from the bulk containers. The people checking us out are nice and friendly.
Adam Zurier
Wonderful local shop.. always has been.
Stephen Lester
As a plant based shopper they had everything I was looking for and the exact brands as well. Produce was light-years better than the store across the street.
Jade Shea
This store is great if you're a health food nut like me. I love the variety of fresh fruits and vegetables, the vitamins (20% off on Thursdays), the cafe offerings, etc., and the staff is quite knowledgeable and helpful. They really do a great business and constantly have a lot of customers (probably like me). I remember them when they were small in Burlington and have grown nicely into a quality, larger store. Way to go!
Andrew Cervini
This market seems to have everything to help me eat, drink, and consume better. At reasonable prices, too. Deli inside that makes mouth-watering sandwiches.
Shelves are always well-stocked. Tremendous selection of produce, cheeses, dairy, and beverages to name a few.
Very easy to get to from Highway 89.
j O
The customer service is always so nice and the bakery department is amazing- the selection of daily muffins and such is the best in town ☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️
Michael Servidio
Here is my personal experience shopping at Healthy Living Market. The store is clean, well stocked. The staff are always ready to help and knowledgeable. Here is the problem; they are over priced on much of the products. I affectionately call them "Wealthy Living".
D. Marq
A very fine grocery store, and smallish cafe. Excellent salmon sushi for lunch.
Ted Adler
This locally owned supermarket is amazing! Hands down the best produce, meats and beer/wine selection in the area. I also love the cool products they have in the store. You'll find stuff at Healthy Living you won't see any place else. I love supporting Healthy Living!
Heather Peatman
Large variety, great bulk section, and excellent artisan and local choice. Often called "wealthy living" it can be pricey in some areas (really the only downfall). You really can't beat their bulk pricing though! Even though Trader Joes went in a few years back (offering a "healthy/conscious" alternative at conventional prices) I still come to Healthy Living. The staff have offered to seek out items that I cannot find in store (and asked if I proffered local!) and have notified me when shipments of items I was seeking came in. Very responsible staff that are friendly in nature. The bath/beauty section is fantastic! They offer classes in their classroom regularly, so be sure to check their schedule! The store itself does close earlier than conventional places, so be sure to check hours!
Ample parking as well.
Michael Petersen
Healthy Living Market and Cafe wasn’t on my list of places to visit on a recent trip but ended up visiting while my EV was charging. Wow! So impressed. I can’t stand Whole Foods but this place is totally NOT in the same category.
Employees (especially Brandon) were so helpful on my visits. For craft beer fans you don’t need to stop anywhere else. Incredible selection of Vermont breweries are represented. Again, Brandon was so helpful and willing to help make suggestions.
Prepared food area is small but adequate. Chicken was amazing and salad bar was fresh and clean.
Bill Stratton
The best grocery store I've ever been to. Incredible selection (far more than the co-op, though I also love my co-op), competitive prices, support for local and regional businesses, friendly staff, kid-friendly atmosphere, and a frequent customer discount sort of thing.
People who complain about the layout: ffs, its overlapping circles. Can we not respect a store for varying slightly from the sterile, monotonous repetition of perfectly straight aisles ad infinitum?
Gregory Hogan
Every thing you would need for natural foods. Cafe has excellent options and a cafeteria menu too. Beautiful kitchen garden in front.
Keanu Von Diez
Too much like city Market for its own good. Come here for Novelty items or to try a new dish.
If you are on a budget by Produce and Beverages elsewhere.
Decent shopping experience but very few staff to help you shop or find things after 4pm.
Peter Searle
This newest location by Healthy Living is an excellent Cafe for a 'healthy' quick meal. The Cafe has a wonderful selection of healthy menu items! Initially, I was simply frustrated at not being able to dine in at a 'Cafe' because of Covid-19 restrictions. The owner explained open air seating will occur for this location once the restrictions are lifted. I apologize for my previous review, as I should have recognized that while I wanted to try so many of their scrumptious items, I had no place to comfortably sit down to have a hot cup of soup, a sandwich and a drink. These are very difficult times. Thank you, Wesley and again, I sincerely apologize.
Anne Hall
Most everything is wonderful at Healthy Living, can find many foods ( they were the first to carry Halo Top). Great place for lunch, coffee is great. I'm laying off the sweets, but they are delicious and very tempting with a nice cup of coffee. I use their bulk spices all the time, small amounts and replace often, rather than large quantities that loose their potency. Some things are a bit pricey, but only place to purchase certain items. Baby care supplies, and many other items including gorgeous flowers. Love this place!!💜💜
Rob & Shawndra Meader
Healthy Living is a bit of an organic experience. Lots of beautiful food, options for all kinds of diets, curving, non-symmetrical aisles. It is easy to get lost in there, but there's a map at the customer service desk. It is pricey, which is why I didn't give it 5 stars. But they carry many local products, and give a great discount on supplements on Thursdays. Lots of fun when you have the time and the money!
Sandy Thomas
My go to place for locally and responsibly grown items. Love that they have duck eggs! Also very happy with their selection of goat and sheep dairy items. I have allergies to bovine products, and am happy to find a local dairy alternative without always having to settle for plant based products.
Thank you!
Stormer Santana
Impressive market! We visited twice as we were passing through Burlington and needed a Tesla Supercharger (there are ~6 Superchargers located to the left of the entrance).
The hot buffet and sandwich area was actually quite good; lots of vegetarian options. Overall, great experience shopping at Healthy Living Market.
Deborah Blair
Love this store! For years my friends and I shopped it when it was over in its old location - but this new location is wonderfully big and offers great, easy parking. Once you know the store - I find it well laid out - and if you don't know where something might be - ask the friendly staff!!! They have a great produce section - local Vermont products, a huge vitamin section - cheeses, wines, beers, hard cider, and a vast selection of yogurts and fermented foods and drinks with HUGE selection of many brands of Kombucha. They also have a number of made there foods in their cooler for meals at home or to take out for lunch. My favorite is the hot and cold deli - you can buy in bulk taking home many veggies and gourmet natural and vegetarian meals - - We cook most of our food at home but its so nice to have these meals as sides or for a night off from cooking. Great place!
Robin Nickerson
I love this place! Go every time I make it to Vermont. Unique items, and delicious goods. Great beer and wine selection, healthy juice blends, amazing vitamin & healthy skin care lines. Pricey, though.
Theodore Mall
Good quality natural and organic products. But for the life of me, I can't figure out the store layout. I noticed that it isn't just me. If it wasn't for helpful staff, I could never finish my shopping there. Prices are on the high side compared to similar stores in VT. However, the store carries many unique and difficult to locate elsewhere items. Overall an above average shopping experience.
Andrew Swift
High quality co-op style grocery store. More pricey than most, but wonderful selection of organic produce and natural products. Store layout is confusing, so find the map when you arrive. Great beer selection and good coffee shop. Deli is intimate. Great staff!
Cat
They don't call it Wealthy Living for nothing! Wonderful place I can get lost it (literally and figuratively). Very few things I can't find here, excellent if you are in search of atypical or niche diets/ingredients. Make sure to bring a list and stick to it; there are so many fun new things to try, you're basket will be full before you know it.
Edward Godlee
Had a professor once who called this establishment “Wealthy Living” which is sort of accurate because it is quiet pricy. But if you want lovely lovely delicious things, I definitely recommend. They also have EV charging!
Filippa Du Rietz
Healthy Living is always an uplifting place to do my grocery shopping!! 💙 Fresh food, friendly staff and i always leave happy and with a smile on my face!! So impressed with how hard the staff has been working during this tough time. Thank you for all you do Healthy Living ❤👏 …
Ronald Ladue, Sr.
Store has most everything a consientious eater would want...EXCEPT--N Alcatel L cistyne, and flax-brownies. Store is arranged so things are hard to find, but employs knowledgible people who can find it...and are helpful...meanwhile one feels compelled to load their carts with myriad items not intended--but only by the merchandiser! Don't cause your wife to have to come find you, or it's hell-to-pay. We r repeat customers.
Amanda Mason (RegularMomPantryLife)
This is Vermont's local version of a Whole Foods Market. They have everything you need for special diets, a gourmet dinner party or your daily needs if you like to eat local. Hot and cold prepared food, coffee, and baked goods available at their cafe. They have a bulk food section. Prices are high as you'd expect but they do have sales and a loyalty program.
Jade Moon
The people are so helpful and genuinely nice here. I love the variety this store provides. If I call to see if they have an item Holly is so sweet and never makes me feel like I'm a bother. I'm impressed with this store.
gmalav5877
Recently I started shopping here just for their selection of artisan breads. Now that it's baking season I can buy just the right amount of nutmeg I need from their bulk spice section. It still smells funny when you first walk in.
Benjamin Myer
Incredibly knowledgeable & helpful staff. Broad and highly diverse selection. Vegan. Gluten free. Cooking classes! Fresh artisanal bread delivered daily. Super kid friendly. Salads, sandwiches, cafe, hot bar, bakery, bulk items and salads. Take and bakes. Adult beverages! House made sausages. THE best produce in town! All the cheese. This store has it all.
carol opulski (camieo)
i love it, a real fancy healthy life style market. local produce, meats, syrups, dairy is available. they have a hot lunch bar, a sushi bar, a coffee and pastries, cheeses from all over Vermont and abroad. you can pick up a meal or your weekly shopping for the household. grab a brew, some bulk items and your nylon bags and stop in. you wont be sorry.
the one star lacking is with regard to price, this is an expensive shop, you will pay a premium for getting the best around.
Tamara Vando
I love this place. They have amazing soaps, drinks, supplements etc. I usually come here for CBD capsules and cocoa. But I recently saw they have many more options for kombucha flavors!
Crystal Butzlaff
Love healthy living. Has bulk items for low waste and a ton of vegan and gluten free foods that you wont find at a standard grocery store.
Edward Deak
Healthy Living is a great grocery store featuring local and mostly organic products. It can be a bit pricey, but you are getting quality products. In my opinion, the store layout is easier to navigate than City Market, plus the parking lot is not a nightmare.
lilsmomma1
I shop here for healthy items not available at local markets. The variety is amazing. I tend to shop here for special dinners. I love this store and can wander around finding items I didn't know I needed. I would have given it 5 stars, but prices are much higher for the same items at other stores.
Celest R
Love local! FRESH Vermont veggies that you just can't get anywhere else. Great selection of organic fruits too. Also lots of supliments, bath & facial products and a large assortment of nuts, dried fruits and spices.
Scott Z
Smaller market like old school whole foods before Amazon purchased it. Had some great premade meals.
Dan Cholewa
Really good market, tons of variety of natural products with whole ingredients. Prices are very reasonable for most of their items. It's a bit confusing inside as their layout is somewhat tough to navigate and has a lot of twists and turns. Great meat counter with tons of variety too.
Erin Mazur
I really love Healthy Living...my son was asking us all the other day, "If you could shop at any store for free, what store would it be?" and I immediately said "Healthy Living!" I would give it 5 stars if it weren't for the very high prices of many things. Locals nicknamed it "Wealthy Living." But, they truly have the most awesome wholesome products that you cannot find anywhere else. And they have everything, unlike a lot of natural food stores. Plus hot food and a bakery with truly delectable home made food. And they offer classes and talks. This store is a real gem. I just wish I was independently wealthy so I could blow entire paychecks in this place, LOL. And I wish it was a coop, but hey, I still love it.
Travis Quenneville
Great produce, beer selection, cheese and other goodies. Organized like a maze but by your 20th visit you soon begin to end up roughly where you intended to. I give a three star rating mostly because the deli/hot bar is just terrible. Awful sandwiches, bland soup and other dishes. For charging so much, I’d like a decent product, and they do not deliver. Dorset St could use a solid deli, it’s disappointing I’m forced to go elsewhere because Healthy living put zero resources or thought into theirs.
Sam Lewit
Love this market. Yes, the layout is bizarre and I'm sure they sell less because of it, but top quality stuff in a friendly stuff. Much better than Whole Foods and not crazy expensive. Seems more personal.
Mellie Holzscheiter
Lots of vegan options. Lots of healthy options. Great combination of grocery store and cafe! Easy to go here for lunch and grab something to take home for dinner. Lots of ingredients that you can’t find elsewhere, and also lots of premade meals or meals to order! The sandwich shop is great, but has unfortunate and hard to follow weekend hours and is missing a few key ingredients. Overall, a very good place for a quick lunch or a lunch meeting. A staple for vegan shopping in Burlington.
C Fox
An amazing favorite of mine whenever I'm in Burlington, with a glorious selection of fine foods, and a fantastic deli. I have recently brought my mother to this location for an amazing lunch, and her first statement was, "Next time, we're bring two coolers, and a lot of money." It's a can't miss.
glenn perry
First visit to healthy living today. The store was out of an item that I needed, but an employee named Ian was super helpful. He found the item in the burlington store for me to pick up. Who knew such amazing customer service could be found these days.!!!!
Carrie Thorpe
I am in love with this place! They have a great variety of vegetarian and vegan options from DIY ingredients to ready-to-eat foods from their hot bar. They have tons of organic products and high quality non-veg options for the omnivorous amoung us. The sale prices are competitive and the bulk section is awesomely comprehensive. Just be aware that somenregular prices are a bit higher than you can get elsewhere, but it is awesome nonetheless.
Justin Heininger
Wide variety of whole and organic foods. Decent place to pick up essential oils for making your own aromatic scents and deodorizers. They even sell bottles for storing them all in.
Healthy Living is a bit on the expensive side, as many organic markets can be, so unless you can afford to eat everything organic, I personally wouldn't recommend trying to buy all your groceries here. That said, it's a great place to find most of organic needs, especially if you don't live in Downtown Burlington.
Robert Phillips
Excellent customer service! It was my first time shopping at Healthy Living Market and I had more than a few questions. Management and staff made me feel right at home.
Joel Bergeron
Found this place with my wife this past week. Absolutely fantastic acrossthe board and will be going here whenever we’re in town. Things cost a bit more but I have no problem paying for such high quality products when they deliver! All the staff we interacted with were very friendly and helpful. Thank you stay safe!
Carlos & Julie
Try the almond croissants and you will be going back many times. This place has a great selection of breads, fruits, beverages and much more...try it if you haven't yet.
TB
We enjoy visiting Healthy Living when we visit from Montreal a few times per year. Great selection of local and other cheeses, eggs, great buttermilk, local dried beans.
PS Mary Tavis, I think you need to give them another chance, they have great products and they support a lot of local farms which charge slightly more as they raise their animals properly.
Mikhael Cohen
It's not my favorite store for essentials. That said, there's a lot of good here compared to stores like Shaw's, Hannaford or Trader Joe's.
For one, there's real, local produce. Two, great spirits and bread. Three, great supplement selection.
Four, the third-best hot bar in town for vegans (First is City Market, second is Stone Soup). I give them third for their outrageous price ($10.50/lb) and fairly often-burned kale. That said, they almost always have a sweet potato dish of some sort, as well as vegan soup.
Prices tend to be on the higher side, no matter what one is buying. Particularly produce and prepared foods. But they always have what I'm looking for, even oddball things, which makes it the go-to if I'm looking for a peculiar supplement (like a vegan D3), Vermont-made english muffins, or a good hot meal in SB.
There is something that tends to irk me quite a bit, and is the primary reason I no longer visit this store. That is the in-store self-promoting. Signs with the overuse of superlatives and positive adjectives for things that don't reflect a health-conscious business model, but rather prey on desires. I know this is a bad review without an example, but it's been a while since I've been there.
All in all, it's somewhere between the feel and offerings of a community co-op, and a whole foods, but as a very successful private business. I'll be supporting my community co-op instead of a private enterprise, but for someone with my lifestyle it is still quite a nice resource to have around and I'll still visit again and again.

Overpriced but really nice grocery. Of course why buy organic and add oils dairy meat dugar and ruin it's healthfulness?!! Does huge volume with lunch h crowd...hot foot bar, cold sandwich area, bakery, coffee dessert bar, packaged entree salads soups...that area always crowded. Best grocery in NE region. Food good average.not great...but quick
. Good produce if you like local greens and things with sting emulsion fertilizer taste...that needs improved! Really nice cashier's. If in Burlington..it is the grocery!
Stuart Floyd
They have good things. Fresh made things. Much organic, gluten free stuff of course it's Vermont..... Very expensive by VT standards as u can go next door for organic too for a 3rd the price. To be fair Healthy Living does have many unique items and a huge selection of fresh made foods. All local farms for meat and dairy and all the local brews too.
done stewart
Great service and they always have the Polar seltzer we live on in stock. Let's not forget the tasty Garlic salmon.
Ruth Anne Collins
Visiting from out of town, we were delighted to find this grocery store. We eat a vegan (plant-based) and gluten-free diet, so shopping and eating out are often a challenge. We found lots of choices at Healthy Living Market, and even found some fun things to "stock up" on to take home!
Bruce Yelton
Healthy Living Cafe is a popular place for lunch in Burlington. The hot food area includes a variety of hot and cold sandwiches which can be made to order as well as steam tables with a variety of vegan and non-vegan dishes. Drinks and munchies are self-select and include waters and juices from the grocery selection in the store. A nice way to try things to see if you like them. Prices are reasonable (for Burlington). My favorite selection is the Southwestern turkey sandwich. Service can be a bit slow when the lunch crowd is in but the staff are friendly and helpful.
Francois de Melogue
Fantastic store with excellent selection of everything one needs: fresh vegetables, meats, beers, wines, cheeses. Small selection of seafood. Cool friendly people. Go there for your daily shopping.
Darien Temper
Amazing store, Vegan options for all types of products, great prices for fresh produce, baked goods are a bit pricey but worth it and yes they have even vegan cupcakes. First time going can be confusing to navigate threw
Cafe was good, not alot of room to sit but there is some, food was great being VEGAN friendly makes it amazing store/cafe
margaret schillemat
Layout is unique. Stick to perimeter & it's easier to maneuver way through store. Some staff can be abrasive, but overall a great store for all your local, natural foods, wines, beer & unique items.
My fav store along with City Market Onion River Coop in downtown Burlington.
Thomas Dunbar
A little crowded and hard to navigate. It has a very unusual store layout. It's on the expensive side, but they offer a lot of foods that aren't available elsewhere in the area.
Webmamma 5000
Wonderful place to buy new things to try-- in particular if you have dietary restrictions or specific dietary needs.
Jakob Loven
Super friendly employees! I accidentally dropped and broke a glass jar of vegenaise before checkout and I offered to pay for it but they insisted that it wasn't necessary! I felt so bad but the employees made me feel so much better about it! If I could give more stars, I would!
Jessica McDonald
Honestly, I don’t shop there often because it is so confusing I always get lost in there. It is over priced as well. But with that being said, they have some of the best selection of local foods and zero waste items you could ever want. But there is a reason is is nicknamed “wealthy living”
Trish Hartigan
Good selection of healthy organic foods, quality. A bit pricey. But the atmosphere and service and selection , it is worth it.
Helen Oetjen
Great selection of healthy apackaged, fresh and gourmet food. Unfortunately, the prices are out of most peoples reach. If you can afford the food they have a great cheese selection and a pretty expansive olive bar. Their meat dept makes great sausages, especially the chorizo and the have a wonderul array of locally baked breads. This is where I shop when I want something special.
Kathy Connolly
Prices are steep, not just a bit either. However, products are high end and lasted forever. It's been 2 weeks and we just finished a loaf of bread bought here. Fresh as it was on day 1.
Linden Ansel
Expensive? Yes. Is their wine selection on point? Yes. Do they always have gluten free treats and a great selection of fruit? Yes. And don't get me started on their vitamins and potions, etc.
Sebastian D'Arena
This place is ok-- EVERYTHING is super expensive & not noticeably different than City mkt. The staff can be pretentious/obnoxious... I get it, the hipster cashier is too cool to be bothered w/small talk. And hot food, 🍞🥙, 🍣 crew is too busy to answer ??? I go here for a few things I can't find at other grocery stores round here, of course that wouldn't be true if Whole Foods was allowed in town.
Dana Basiliere
Good food, good wine and good coffee. I love the Earthback Coffee Roasters single origins roasted local right in So. Burlington. Good job Healthy Living with fresh produce and a great selection of quality organic food! A local patron.
Martin Meyer
A uniquely Vermont experience! This is a Whole Foods-like local grocery that also serves some prepared food inside. I come here primarily to use the Tesla Supercharger outside (which they sponsor), but once you're inside you find lots of interesting products to explore and usually I realize I'm hungry for a sandwich or some sort of snack food.
Robyn Latta
Pretty standard health food store. It's expensive but there does seem to be a wide selection. Definitely a decent beer and wine selection. I usually don't shop here other than to grab lunch from the hot food bar, which is pretty good.
Jeremy Hancher
Great market that reminds me of Whole Foods. Nice assortment of local foods and great selection of beer. Prices are a bit high for some things & service can be a tad slow at times. Would still return when back in Burlington.
Mishu Garg
Great market with lots of options.. there is a wide variety of fresh fruits and vegetables... Actually plethora of options for everything like tea, cookies, honey, maple syrup etc. Well laid out making it easy to look for stuff...
E. ARTI Wulandari
Best selection of produce, meat & dairy, canned foods, dry goods, and everything else. The bread selection is awesome, too.
cory loudon
I can see the appeal. Not really my style as I am not vegan and have no interest in paying triple for items that are similar to what youd find at most grocery stores. I do love the idea of a store that sells local goods
Don “Disco” A.
Big! Lots of stuff! Wish we had these here in NY!
Don Ressler
Really enjoy this store. It is so much more than a grocery store. A cafe serving custom made breakfast and more. Very friendly staff. I feel much happier having visited.
Kelsey Ward
I love this place, yes it can be a little pricey but why not pay a little more to fuel yourself with healthy food that will benefit you in the run. Fom their grocery section to the deli, bakery outdoor seating and sushi bar, this place is awesome.
Ged Hickman
We stopped in to break our journey and ended up spending ages here. It's so unusual and interesting. We had our lunch here as well and that was also unusual and interesting.
I had to drag my wife away in the end as she loved it so much.
Jonathan Friolet
Great selection of craft beers. Got some Heady Topper and Focal Banger!
John Fagan
Whenever I'm in the area l stop by Healthy Living for groceries, made-on-premise sushi and sake. There is a large selection of very well chosen wine and beer. The sraff goes out of their way to be helpful and friendly.
Sue Stroud-Speyers (WychwoodFarmVT)
Great produce and lots of items for anyone with dietary restrictions. Excellent wine and beer selection. Don't miss the freshly prepared sushi 🍣 …
Jack Hung
Very nice place with lots of organic and natural products in the store; Cafe is small and wished the food varieties could've been more. The review is true, this place tends to be a bit pricey relative to Trader Joe's across the street.
VARSHA RACHA
You can get almost everything here. I really love the bakery/ smoothie section they have. Produce was really fresh and the lunch options are also great. You won't be hungry while shopping 😁 …
Laura Napolitano
I rarely come in here, but when I do I enjoy the vibe. My only complaints would be that the layout is a little confusing and feels like a maze to the new customers and there aren't any outlets in the café. I get that they probably don't want people hanging out all day but at the same time if they're offering free wifi they should offer outlets too!
George Mihaly
I really like this grocery! It took a little getting use to navigating around the store at first, but I absolutely love Healthy Living's variety of bulk items and their extensive nutrition section (their produce & workshops are really good too:)
Amelia Payne
The pre made food is great. The bulk section is also good. Unfortunately the prices are so high many locals call it wealthy living. Healthy living is best for lunch, or bringing home pre made food. Don't buy ingredients or you will pay many times the price
Scott Richer
Friendly staff. Good deli and food bar.
Great selection of groceries.
Decent selection of beers. Could use a bigger selection of Non-alcoholic beer.
Patrick Berkeley
Everything's pricey (hence it's nickname: Wealthy Living) but good. Good local selection. I love the food bar. Also try one of their revolution bars and a Tim's Lavender Love smoothie. And their fresh guacamole.
samuel Olds
I like the selection of food you can find just about anything you could want. My downsides is I get lost and end up wandering in circles also the price of prepared food seems a little high.
Kellie Keefe
The best holistic grocery store I've ever been to. Staff are very caring and helpful, willing to go out of their way to help you. Their meat dept. is phenomenal!
Caitlin Masse
Always great to stop in and check out what they have near the baked goods or desserts. Wonderful Cafe with place to sit and relax and enjoy the wonderful food from the store or the hot/cold bar inside
Kelly Johnston
I just had to share I had the most lovely shopping experience this morning at Healthy Living all of my questions were answered and the staff helped me find what I was looking for it was really just a lovely experience and a bright clean friendly environment in this crazy world we’re living in right now thank you Healthy Living thank you essential workers
Camie Starshine
Expensive high end healthy shopping market. Nice layout makes walking around interesting. Speciality cafe and sushi bar make it a popular local shop. Staff is very helpful.
Bill Greene
They have a nice display of produce. They had the seasonal blood oranges I was looking for
Dave Pietricola
Good selection of stuff, but the store layout is bordering on awful. You can literally end up in dead ends without realizing it! What a shame, because the Saratoga location is both larger and clearly laid out.
Jessica Lambert
Definitely my favorite health food store! The employees are always cheerful and helpful, the store is clean, the prepared food is AMAZING, and the selection is wonderful. Keep it up, Healthy Living!
Gena Kona-Mancini
I love the variety of products here and the staff is really nice. But the premade food is way too expensive! A small container of chicken salad is $9!
Jen Peterson
Clean and has lots of products and a great produce section but the layout of the store is totally confusing. I get easily lost and it's not that big of a store.
Juan Diegalo
The staff is the friendliest around. Prices vary (some deals, some not), but there's a great selection of local products and in-house specialities, and a great bulk section for grains, nuts, granola, tea, etc.
Christopher Peck
Clean, spacious, elegant maze, well stocked with every delight from forbidden rice to jamón Ibérico. Since there are no aisles to number, employees always walk you directly to the item you seek.
William Stevenson
First time here while on vacation. I was looking for some fruit and what not to stay in the high vibes. They had it all! I want for nothing
Stevie Van Zandt
Skip City Market and shop here. The owners are great and more often than not one of them is out on the floor working, much larger than City. Market with a much better selection and even when it's slam packed you do not feel trapped like at CM
Progress and Growth Center, LLC
Fresh local meats and produce. Live that they support our Vermont farmers. Staff is always friendly and willing to answer and/or find out the answers to questions. I really appreciate their commitment to this community.
Ida Nicole
I love the interior and layout of the store. Aesthetics are important to me, and apparently, they do to the owners as well. They also have a wide variety of goods, I can't find anywhere else in the area.
Tom Dockery
Great selection. Was looking for vegan items and was not disappointed. A little pricey though. Later told by a friend "that is why it is.called ""wealthy living"".
Jeffery Pynduss
This place has a good selection of natural and healthier foods. They get a lot of the harder to find beers delivered but to get them you have to get there delivery days within a few hours of them putting them out.
Gregory Morris
The layout is a bit odd at first but I always love shopping here and the food is always fresh and delicious.
Promo Paul. Event Photography.
There is more healthy food packing into this store, than ALL of the whole foods franchises combined! Its like a catacomb of flavor a health with our own VT flair.
Hannah Giza
I give it 1 star for the worst layout of a store ever! It's like a maze... Way too confusing. But I really like their wide selection of bulk and their high quality fresh organic products.
Aaron Cowan
The layout of the store is it's biggest flaw but once you learn to walk the perimeter it functions. Great products albeit a little preachy at times. "IF YOU CARE?!" of course I do.
Drew Shatzer
Wonderful selection of high-quality products. Nice membership program too. I just wish I could afford to do ALL of my shopping here.
Christina Benson
LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS PLACE!!!! gluten free makeup..organic everywhere, gluten free everywhere and local and FANTASTIC SPICE ISLAND! !! Competitive prices...NOT as expensive as Whole Foods.
Japheth Brubaker
Incredible selection of local organic seasonal real foods to keep our family healthy and happy. One of the best markets of its kind period.
Stephanie Moore
I usually stop by Healthy Living because of their amazing Gluten Free alcohol section. From Glutenberg to Alcoholic Kombucha they always have whatever it is I'm searching for.
George Mitchell
Great natural and organic market. Large selection of bulk spices, grains, pastas, nuts, oil, coffees and teas. nice selection of wines and beers. Wonderful Café.
RM AP
My biggest complaint is the irrational store layout. It's byzantine and probably intentionally so. There's no store map online (but management insists you can request one at the customer service desk... on paper... **scoff**). Being the practical goal-oriented person that I am, I'll just shop at City Market where I can both overspend _and_ find my way.
elliot hazzard
very expensive but can't really beat the amazing selection of vegetarian and vegan foods. my partner and I came here for the brand of ice cream called halo top and we weren't disappointed.
Charles Jones
Nice place for local, natural, and organic food and other items. Can be expensive but they do offer senior and military discounts. Great dessert bar!
gary daluisio
Great products. If you comparison shop, prices can be amazing! Customer service can be hit or miss. Would be 5 stars except for customer service.
Di Martin
Great selection and a variety of options for those who have special dietary and health needs. Food take out stations had great selections. Very clean, including the restrooms.
Joe Wehry
There's a great selection of food here, but the store is a bit of a maze with the angled aisles. Friendly customer service helped find what I was looking for quickly.
Joanne Stover
Lots of healthy options including gluten free and organic. My go to for grocery shopping in Burlington.
Gina Laveroni
Great natural and organic grocery store. A bit pricey but not unusual for this type of store. Layout is confusing. Always get lost and hard to find specific items.
Meika Laszlo
The staff is so knowledgeable about all of their products, huge variety, tons of options, if they don't have it (which is rare) they will get it for you, but the best part is the fact that just when you think it can't get any better, it does! Overall just an awesome community market.
Athena L
Excellent selection of quality food stuff. Just don't go on a Sat or Sun. It was a mob scene!! I will go again, during the week.
rodney bledsoe
Amazing looking meat market, the best selection of any heath food market around. wonderful selection of local products, very helpful staff. the prices are not as high as the national heath food chains.
Christine Blair
It always smells so good in there unlike the conventional grocery stores in our area
Kevin Dowd
Always a good choice for quality food but on the pricey side.
Diane Mulcahy
Great organic selections. Love the peanut butter smoothy. Mine wine and beer selection.
Jackie Bassett
This healthy grocery store has many neat things you can buy. It has organic foods, lotions, vitamins, coffee, produce, premade food, cheeses, Nick nacks and so on
Keith Gallaudet
A little pricey, but the selection of groceries is top notch.
Amy Pearl
Like a boutique Whole Foods, with better choices and easier to navigate. Great breakfast bar. Can't wait to go back!
Judith
Very nice atmosphere. Staff is very helpful! Lots of healthy and organic produce/foods.
Elisha McLam
Great selection of food, but it is nicknamed wealthy living for a reason. You can get better prices on similar items elsewhere.
Aleksandr Kragh
One problem is that some things are just way overpriced. That being said, the quality of everything is exceptional. Be careful in what you buy, but never fear that what you get is not substandard.
Alex Dombi
Expensive, hard to navigate, and lacks certain staples essential to grocery. Cool staff though, and the cafe's smoothies are TO DIE FOR.
Joe Larose
Inexpensive bulk herbs and similar, good wine selection, other specialty foods you can't easily get anywhere else, and while not my first choice for grocery staples they generally carry everything I need and will do in a pinch.
Dc Stott
Ugh so great wish it were closer to my house in Stowe! Vegetables here are best in Vermont!
Brian LaClair
Friendly staff, robust selection of products, but a hefty markup.
Make the trip across the street to Trader Joe's first, and save Healthy Living for the specialty items.
Janna McNeil
Unique store. It's not organized like a normal grocery but it's got interesting products. I liked the bulk food section and the natural soaps.
Joanne St.John
Healthy Living is one of my fav places to shop. I'm a CORE Shopper and that is quite a benefit. I'd recommend considering becoming one!
Rick Valenta
Wealthy living is a great place to grab lunch and people watch. I don't grocery shop here as I don't live in the area, but if I were local and made about 10 times what I do now, i'd be all about it.
Adam DeMasi
Great variety, amazing products, kind helpful folks working here. Well worth the visit. (also beer selection is ridiculous!)
James Puma
Amazing beer selection, not that big but I still get lost sometimes! So many options and conveniently located right off 189/89 near U-Mall.
Al Getler
Just about the finest grocery shopping experience when you care about good, fresh products. We can also grab great meals to go on busy family nights!
Cindy Y
Wonderful local healthy market with lots of options for lunch including salad bar, hot food, pre-made or custom sandwiches. Always friendly and helpful staff.
William Bragg (Bill)
On-site sushi, sandwiches and more... plus a great grocery store oddly wrapped around it all. 1st time visit was outstanding, will return.
Anita DuBrey
I always love this shopping option over any other now !! So thankful for this local food option in such trying and uncertain times.
Julia Willis
Nice store if into organic food and drings. A little on the expensive side. Do not understand why eating healthy has to be so expensive
Vicki Matthews
Tons of choices either organic or not. Lots of choices for spices weather it be 1/8 tsp to much more for that recipe you want to try but don't want to invest the money on LG size spices.
Carolyn Forbes
There was a great selection and had good food in the cafe. I removed a star because as a person from out-of-town, the store can seem like a maze.
Alec Newcomb
Fresh, friendly, and a great selection of organic items.
Lennart Lundblad
My favorite grocery store, hands down. A little pricey but always good.
Dan Mohnkern
Love the selection, the food quality, the professional nice-ness of the staff. The prices are outrageous compared to other health food stores I've been to (in other states) though.
Ryan Keighley
We call it wealthy living for a reason.. so damn expensive. The place tries to be a little mini whole foods, but even whole foods is cheaper than this place, by a great margin.
Christopher Salinger
If I could marry a grocery store it would be this place. Such an expansive selection of locally produced and madd products at decent prices! 10/10.
Andy Pearson
Great selection of healthy foods, and for those on specific diets. Terrible store layout. High prices for common goods.
Mendy Mcdolan
The food in the deli section is very good. They have a great selection of health food items and health and beauty products.
Jane Swift
Expensive but great for finding specialty items and foods. Was looking for "munkpacks" which I found. Great gluten free options, prepared foods, even natural cosmetics, etc ...
Katherine Smith
This is where I get my take out I got fresh sushi I got seaweed salad fully cooked duck conve Maple creme brulee.
Wayne Demby
I visited the store when I visited from Delaware. The store was absolutely great! The energy of the store was amazing, clean, positive and friendly.
Heather Spear
First visit to this store it was very clean and I'd highly recommend it
Nick Butchino
The prices really need to come down. And lately I haven't been able to find sugarfree bacon! (Which is the main reason I go there )
Darryl
Fantastic healthy and organic foods spices herbs and oils to buy. A great place to stop for a bite to eat that is healthy and great for you!
Marty Gleason
A great produce section, the best selection of cheese around, hard to find beers and wines, good deli, and that's only about half of the store.
Abnormal Paranormal TV: APTV
Great healthy food. I come here every morning for a cinnamon raisin bagel and an Odwalla strawberry and banana fruit smoothie.
Heather Sedgeman
Nice selection of different things esp plant based varieties. Laid out a little chaotically.
A R
Really nice specialty food store. You can also get various types of food for lunch and dinner there. Also they have a tesla charging station.
Ashley Lafleche
Its like if the Old North End co-op was more expensive, less interesting and had more store-branded products. Check out time was also very slow. Meh overall
Shaunta Huff
It's your average health food grocery store but it does have a variety of items. It can be pricey if an individual is not use to purchasing organic/natural foods and products.
WJ Patry
Great selection of healthy organic food, natural soaps, fluoride-free toothpaste etc. The location is also conveniently close to exit 14 off I-89.
Stuart Dropkin
Wish we had one of these back home! This market and cafe has the freshest produce, groceries, and even a sushi bar. Perfect

Denise Farmer
My favorite place for produce. Friendly staff and a very clean, organized store. Offers cooking and health classes and more.
Fay Howard
I like going to Healthy Living, but do find it somewhat claustrophobic. I am looking forward to the new Healthy Living opening in Williston!

Lolita Abeneto
We shop there very often and we absolutely love that place. Stopping at the cafe for a creme brulee is a must!

Makes Whole Foods and other natural grocers look cheap. But hey someone's got to pay the all those Tesla chargers in the parking lot.
Kimberly Cummins
Great cafe section! The staff is friendly and helpful and there are a lot of different products to choose from.
Mahraz
great place to buy fresh vegetables and meat. more expensive than price chopper, shows, trader joes as it is a local grocery store.
Marla Emery
Great fresh and prepared food, helpful staff, and clearly marked social distance at check out.
