Reviews of Always Full Asian Market
Corina Mayo
Always great customer assistance even though some don't speak English well, they still attempt to or get someone else.
Competitive prices too!
Great selection of food items. Just wish they had more ready made food.

Good things DO come in small packages!! :)
I’ve traveled and lived around the country a bit. I am used to having access to proper Chinatowns and all that comes with that. I also use a lot of hard to find ingredients and raw herbs. This place is one of my favorite Asian markets I’ve ever shopped for all the essentials and then some!! Packed into a deceivingly small spot. I am beyond excited to find them nearby. In Vermont of all places!!
I called a few weeks ago to feel them out and see if they carry a particular ingredient. One of the owners, Wen, answered and was so incredibly kind and helpful. When he learned I was new to his store, he also took extra time to tell me all about their store, what they carry, ask if there was anything else I was looking for or he could help with.
I made the happy trek down for a treasure hunt a few days later. Wow! Wen even remembered me and my name. :) So incredibly friendly and kind and helpful in person as well. He treated every single person like a valuable customer he’s known for years, including me. This store has an amazing selection and is well stocked. Dry goods, frozen goods and a small but lovely and delicious veggie section are somehow all packed in here. The store is SUPER clean. I found everything I was on the hunt for and so much more. I was extra lucky and grabbed a warm and yummy red bean filled sesame ball as I left - which was just the perfect icing on the cake for my little adventure and successful treasure hunt. I had a lovely basket filled to the brim with my favorites and even some new goodies and ingredients.
I’m a loyal customer now for sure.
Wen, you had me at “Hello” :)

One of the best Asian markets I have ever been to! The staff is always extremely kind and helpful, and the store is impeccably clean. I can always find what I am looking for (plus new things I never would have known about!). I find that their prices are also pretty affordable! I have been going for years and tell everyone I know to go there!

Anything you could ever want can be found at Always Full Asian Market! Sake, rows of snacks and sweets, fresh veggies, a variety of meats, dumplings, the list goes on and on. The prices are incredibly affordable and you'll leave here with so much inspiration and delicious ingredients for your next meal. Always Full is a staple in our weekly grocery run!

I visited this market last week and WOW, I was so impressed. The variety is amazing, the staff is kind and helpful AND I was able to get my favorite pork steamed buns with oyster sauce. I live three hours away, but I will definitely be visiting this spot again!
Robby S
I stopped by today for the first time and this will not be my last! Super friendly and helpful staff that go out of their way to help you find items and answer any questions. An incredible variety of fresh and frozen foods (especially seafood), packaged foods, and every sauce, condiment, snack, and more!

Quick and dirty pros and cons, then a novel below!
Pros:
*Competitive pricing for the area and often better deals than buying online especially when shipping prices are added.
*Lots of variety
*Helpful friendly service
*Clean store, undamaged products and well organized.
*Clear and understandable receipt shows exactly what you got
Cons:
*Most items don’t have labels or prices listed. (Those that do are clear and easy to understand)
*Limited parking
*Narrow aisles will be difficult to navigate when busy or if you use a wheelchair
*One item I bought was past the “best by” date- by five days. Considering it was well packaged long shelf life candy I’m not concerned about it but might be worth keeping an eye out. My other purchases had best by dates from November ‘21 all the way to 2023. (And remember, there is a difference between “best by” and “expiration”!)
Novel:
Awesome experience here, I am bummed I don’t live closer! Small store, narrow aisles but well organized. The parking lot is very small so you might need to park in another lot nearby and walk over during peak hours. I was there Sunday evening at 6:30 and there were a few other customers but no more than three shoppers in the store at a time. I can see how this place could be frustrating if it’s crowded.
Product pricing is not consistently visible-the items aren’t tagged individually and only about one third of the shelves had tags. But those tags were pretty clear with price and included English labels of the products, which matched the items they were listing.
Prices weren’t “cheap” like you might find in a place like, say, Boston, but were definitely cheaper than Amazon and in general fair considering the location and current import duty rates. I asked the clerk about whether they had any Kasugai yuzu gummy candy and he said they were trying to get it in, but shipping out of Japan is delayed and difficult right now. Considering the widespread international shipping/supply chain shortages going on I’m kind of impressed there’s as much variety as there is.
Definitely found some deals- I bought the same Duruduru pork and veg dumplings in Portland ME for $2 more. Also found Mochiko sweet rice flour which I’d only seen on Amazon before where it is priced at almost $7/lb, here it was $2.49! Bereft of my favorite Kasugai yuzu gummies, I grabbed a bag of the muscat flavor to try out and looks like I got a deal there too: $3.49 vs $4.93 Amazon. And they are delicious!
The clerk also gave me tips on selecting and storing frozen fish cake, something I’m looking forward to introducing to my meal plans. And I overheard him helping out a lady with a very heavy accent, he stayed patient and worked with her to understand what she was looking for and lead her to it.
Weirdly, one of the things I’m happiest with is that the receipt clearly states in English all the items you got. I am in the middle of broadening my culinary horizons and this is a huge help when it comes to identifying a foreign snack food I grabbed to try out. Other Asian markets I have been to sometimes have the item names in their original language or even no item name at all, just a price. This can cause some unease and distrust when it is combined with products that don’t have prices listed, as it creates the possibility of shady extra charging that I have experienced in 2 other markets in the past.
I ended up getting more than my little canvas shoulder tote could handle, and the clerk provided a box for me to carry out Costco-style. So make sure to bring your own bags if you aren’t a fan of that.
Only disappointments I have- I’ve been looking for a place to buy soju for a while and this place only has sake. And my craving for those amazing yuzu gummies is left unsatisfied. Not exactly big problems.

Nice little store, a small produce section and frozen options as well. They sell miso paste and pickled ginger and jasmine rice.
Their fresh Mochi (red bean) is really good! 😋 …
Adrian Cooper
This place is amazing!! There's so much variety and stock. We bought some delicious pork buns in the frozen section, some nice drinks (try the Honey Pomelo!), and Nishiki at a great price! We definitely want to go back.
Staff was nice, even late at night as they were putting away truck. Felt out
Glad to know where to get authentic red bean and matcha mochi, black sesame snacks, instant hot pot meals, lots of ramune flavors, and lots of Chinese and other Asian snacks to try! Our new Asian market go to!
Fin Thorne
Amazing store! Staff is always friendly and incredibly helpful. Always greet customers and give assistance finding items quickly. Best line up of asian snacks you can find in the city, and just about every spice/sauce/meat/veggie you could possibly need. Highly recommend!
Joe Pekol
Excellent little grocery. The owners were working and are helpful and delightful.
Marcus Mallows (AlexCat77)
They always have what you need and always at a better price than the local grocery stores (if they even carry it at the other stores). Also, super friendly staff!!
Hiroikku Neko (Hironya)
Between the Starbucks and a highway exists a paradise of delicious food, and it needs not be overlooked. I now have to go to rehab for my Ube addiction, farewell mortals.
Todd Tomasi
Awesome selection of Asian groceries. Store was well stocked, very organized and above all spotlessly clean. Not always a priority for similar stores. Owners were kind and friendly. Definitely will be back.
Michael
Outstanding selection in a clean, welcoming space. The owner/employees do exceptionally well with lower square footage.
I make a point of always saying hello to them, as they are doing a fantastic job.
Edorah Frazer
I love this store. The owners are very friendly and helpful. They have a great selection of items in spite of their small space. They also have fresh, locally made Chinese bakery items - buns and different offerings each day. I always find some new treat to try there. Highly recommended!
Michele Kellogg
We drove 2 hours to visit the Market and it was worth the drive! Beautiful produce and a large variety of pantry staples, frozen foods and meats. We will be making it part of our monthly shopping trip!
mikaela irene
Selection is rather limited and price is higher than in other Asian stores, but they sell stuff of good quality. I haven't seen anything close to expiry date here.
M C
This is a great little place for essential Asian grocery items. They will have all the necessary items that you’re looking for. We were here during our summer road trip and stopped by. The owners are extremely friendly and down to earth folks. (Note: To those comments from the prior reviewer. Absolutely, disagree with those views about not requiring a mask. Historically, without the advance science that we have today, the first logical defense between you and any exposure is a mask/barrier as face covering. Will it completely eliminate your exposure…No. But will it mitigate your risk…Yes.)
Bluekimchi Andrea
I just discovered this market and already love it! It does seem difficult to get gluten free items maybe.
Tom DeBell
One of the best Asian markets I've been to! They have everything in the shop! Don't let the small size fool you, they are very well stocked and will order specialty items for you. Very nice folks work here.
Domo Cana
My favorite Asian grocer in the region. It is well stocked, kind staff, and exceptionally clean! It's also conveniently close to Healthy Living/Hannaford/Trader Joe's, so you can always stop by on the way to your usual grocery trip.
GaminSFun
Very clean very nice store but a little pricey. But I would not blame the business vt is expensive place to live.
Michelle Angelica Fulgencio
The staff was very friendly and they have most of the goods that I was looking for! Will definitely come back again!
StewartGerard
Amazing Asian grocery with anything you can imagine to make amazing Asian dishes for you and your loved ones!
Jamaliya Cobine
Just discovered the best Asian grocery in Vermont. Small-ish space but really nice selection including a lot of Japanese products (which in my experience is a little lacking at other Asian groceries in the area). For a transplant that really misses H Mart this was a very welcome discovery! Super friendly staff too.
FYI the parking lot is small and tight and also a bit hard to get in and out of BUT there’s plenty of easily accessible parking next door at Starbucks if you don’t want to hassle with it!
Heather Sedgeman
I've had a hard time finding certain asian sauces and ingredients in the bigger grocery stores in Vermont. This little market has a wonderful selection and friendly staff. Many of the "more common" items are better priced than I found at other stores. The store is small, as is the fresh produce section and can be awkward to navigate. Definitely recommend for anyone cooking eastern food and looking for different/authentic ingredients.
Edward Godlee
i absolutely love this store. they are so friendly and have such exciting treats! my favorite is the green tea because they have so many options but i always get the big box because it is 100 tea bags for only 5 or 6 dollars. i am always full thanks to this lovely store thank you!
Kenshin Cho
Every time I come here, the parking lot is always full, the shelves are always full, and my shopping cart(s) are always full. The most well-stocked Asian grocery store in Vermont. A small shop with an impressive amount of variety with a rotating selection of fresh and frozen food. I’ve found things that I haven’t even seen in some Chinese stores in major cities (like frozen shepherd’s purse for dumplings)
Jasmine Beatty
Not the biggest but definitely the best Asian grocery store I've been to in New England. Very clean and neat. They have fresh produce and very authentic Asian spices and snacks. The owners are very nice people and I could tell that they really take care of the store. I'm recommending it to everyone I know.

Thank you, Always Full!
Another first for SB. An asian market!!!
Not only the first for this zip code, but possibly the cleanest and most organized I've EVER been to.
No. Seriously.
After 30 years in a kitchen, you develop an affinity for organization.
Mis en place. French for everything in its place.
Usually regarding ingredients, when extrapolated to a greater view, this includes every utensil or tool for your station, every station within a kitchen, and even the kitchen within the restaurant.
Everything needs to have a home.
This brightly lit store takes organization to the max! The aisles are clear, the floors and walls are bleach clean, and all the shelves are utilized as if an artificial intelligence designed it.
The owners and workers are super engaging and friendly.
Fresh produce is a little limited, but at least refrigerated. They are in the process of expanding this to a greater capacity.
Yes, parking isn't great.
Protip: Instead of parking in their lot, turn in as if you are going to the Best Western. On the left, after the small lot for the cell phone repair shop, turn left into the large parking lot south of the hotel. There are 2 available left turns into the lot after the small cell phone lot.
This can avoid difficulty parking or exiting their actual parking lot, which is very tight.
This is literally the only con of this store.
There is a great selection of snack foods I haven't seen at other local asian markets. I found several varieties of specialty dried seafood that I really look forward to enjoying on my next day off (with beer, of course).
rj r
Good organized store layout. Have decent selection of different items without going overboard with options.
Their snack aisles are on point, and the guy working the register is friendly.
Gregg Banse
THE place to go for Asian ingredients. Japanese eggplant, daikon radishes that aren't limp, dan dan noodles, rice sticks, dark soy, and even lychee nuts. I make the trip at least once a month to stock up.
Jade Shea
I really like this Asian market. The people who run it are accommodating and really friendly. They do carry things that some of the other Asian markets don't, so I like to go talk of them if I'm looking for something in particular. Some things they carry the others don't, so that really nice. They do recommend things and they are right on what it tastes like if they've tried it. Getting in and out of the parking lot is a bit of a challenge, but the store is worth going to do I go there anyway.
Colby Fong
I love this place if you really look close you can find most things you are looking for at least for Cantonese Cooking you won't find pre-made char sui or anything but you can find char sui sauce and that it the point of the place. You can find most of your Asian seasonings and some of the produce and fish you can't get in American stores. Well worth the trip and lovely staff.
Morgan Watkins
Best Asian market I've been to in the state. Service is great, selection too. It's a regular stop on my grocery trips.
Sarah Hennessy
Went in looking for kewpie Mayo- the gentleman working told me they were getting more later that day and told me he could call me when it arrived. He went above and beyond to make sure I got what I was looking for. Besides that, the market has so many amazing sauces, snacks, fresh produce, grocery staples and frozen foods! Can’t believe I hadn’t been and can’t wait to go back!
Xuanyi Zhu
Very impressive little market. They have a good balance between Asian staple items (sauces, oils, noodles, frozen goods) and speciality snacks such as chips, sweets, and ramen. They also have a small selection of produce that is fresh and well curated. The store is clean and the staff is very friendly. There is an accessible ramp to the building, but the parking lot is a tad bit small. It is surrounded by many other lots though so not really a problem.
Josh Rotz
Amazing Asian market that has the stock and options of a large store with the customer service and care of a mom and pop. Have been looking for a place like this ever since I moved here. Can't rate this place enough stars. Store was in amazing condition, produce was fresh, and I found everything I wanted. My only hope is that they do well enough to expand.
David G
Terrific store with many unique and fresh items

Keely Murdock
Finally a good size Asian food store in South Burlington! I was able to find everything on my list at one stop, plus some other food. The prices are great, and the set up is easy to access and understand.
Jay S.
Good selection of food, WAY better carrots than the supermarket, parking lot is a disaster but always manageable? fantastic. [5/5 for those with e-readers]
Christie Fletcher

Sarah Posey
So so happy this place recently opened! They have all my favorites plus a ton of very intriguing stuff I’ve never seen before that I had to resist buying all of! Great selection, very clean and organized. Definitely going to be one of my regular spots from now on.
Alice Wack
Stopped in to check it out - more distinctly Asian products as opposed to Indian. Was looking for larger packs of seaweed sheets - score! Also picked up a nice inexpensive sushi making mat. Great prices and friendly staff. Tons of seasoning products, variety of vinegars, and even fresh produce(bok choy, eggplant, garlic, peppers). Will be back!
Edited March 2020: they have expanded their produce and have more variety of fresh stuff (including some of the spiciest jalapeños i have ever had.... yum!) and sooooo many snacks
Jingzhu Li
Best ever asian market! Clean market with fresh produce, welcoming shoping environment, plenty of parking space and it's easy to drive in and out. the owner couple are super nice and always smiling. I love the name of the store in both English and Chinese!
Adam Zurier

Reid Wyatt
Well organized and well stocked east Asian grocery store. Has all the frozen meat for hot pot, decent little veggie section, frozen dumplings and dumpling wrappers, spices, vinegar, oils and snacks. Best in Vermont, been open for one year.
John Patterson
Awesome. Great selection of Japanese, Korean and Chinese ingredients as well as snacks. Parking can be a little tight (only 5 or 6 spots). When it is busy I usually park in the small shopping center next door and just walk over
Rei-Hua Wang

They have things that other don't have. I

My favorite Asian market in the area! Love how neat the store is, especially since it's pretty small. They have an amazing product selection and everyone is always very friendly and helpful.
Philip Yazbak
We drove by this market about a week ago but didn't have time to stop. We agreed next time we went by and had time we would stop in. Today was that day, and we are so glad we stopped by! It seems like a small store but it is well organized inside and has so many unique offerings. From candies and sweets, salty snacks, to spices and soup bases, wide variety of special fresh produce, and a great frozen food and novelty dessert section. We got a very large variety of snacks, frozen foods and ingredients for a few dinners and it was a great deal. The prices were much lower than anticipated and we are excited to make this shop a weekly stop for us going forward with our groceries. The staff are very kind and helpful and we forgot to bring our reusable bag but the cashier put everything into a box for us. All in all it was a great experience at a very well stocked and operated Asian food market. If you have time to stop by on your grocery run or you just need a few snacks for a road trip stop by before you jump on 89!!
