The staff were very warm and welcoming. They helped me find the yarn I needed and were definitely knowledgeable about their products. I love that the owner hand dyes her yarn and sells it there in the shop. When I wanted to splurge on a big yarn purchase I'm glad I chose this place. Ill definitely pop in again (hopefully AFTER I've knitted through my yarn first lol). Support local businesses!

Cute and unique. As a crafter , we don’t see a lot yarn clubs in DMV area. The yards here are high quantities and many were hand dyed. Lots of free patterns in the shops and that personal attentive service just unbeatable. The only down side comes with a private owned yarn club like this is the $$$, these are definitely not the kind of yarn for you to play with LOL

What an absolutely wonderful experience!! Hank came to greet us as we walked in and he was incredibly friendly and soft. My fiancé fell in love, haha. I wish I’d gotten her name, but there was an incredibly kind associate who welcomed us when we walked in and informed us of where the different weighted yarns were. Everyone we met was so unbelievably kind and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. And the prices were absolutely amazing. Definitely something for all budgets. 100% will be back again!

This place has the two best qualities of any hobby store: Firstly, a large selection of dazzlingly tempting materials that can be used by people with little to no prior experience. Secondly, friendly staff who will listen to the specific type of project you want to make and then guide you through all the unknowns like which size tools you need, which terms to research, etc and then recommend what all you should purchase for a starter kit. I visited here in 2019, and it made me happy just now when I remembered the kit they helped me put together because it ended up being immensely beneficial to my mental health to an extent that none of us could have imagined at the time.

I had a very positive experience here and I definitely want to visit again! The employees greeted me and asked if I needed help with anything and I explained that I wanted to find sock yarn so I could make socks to donate to a charity. They showed me where their sock yarn was and then also showed me a cheaper sock yarn that would be good for charity work! Both of the employees I saw were very kind and made sure I was doing alright. And the lady who checked me out heard my family using they/them pronouns for me and she was totally chill about it and respected my pronouns and that really made my whole day honestly. And after I left the store I got an email that one of my yarn balls had dropped behind the counter and we talked about how I would get it back and ultimately decided that they would send it to me because that was the best option. And even in that situation she was very caring and kind and thoughtful and I would definitely recommend coming here even just to view all the beautiful yarn!

I visit The Yarn Club every time I am in VIrginia Beach to see my family (which has become more than an annual occurrence). At first I came because I am curious about what yarns different shops choose to carry, in general. However, I purchased this fall yarn which was hand-dyed by Andrea, the owner, and needed an additional skein to complete my project. Not only was it easy to process the re-order over the phone with one of her friendly team members, the order went out immediately on a Saturday and arrived at my door in Cleveland OH on Monday. Amazing customer service!! Everyone is a pleasure to work with and their ideas are incredibly creative. Worth the trip!

Oh my gosh, where to begin? The ladies in the store were so nice and knowledgeable, and they even gave us a list of restaurants to try while we're in the area. The yarn is beautiful, and there's quite a bit of it, mostly hand dyed. One of the ladies at the store was nice enough to go get her knitting to show me how to do magic loop! Hopefully I won't forget how to do it, since someone actually showed me how. I hope I didn't ruin her sock gauge with my tight knitting 😰 Anyway, this place is great and I'll definitely be stopping by on my next visit to VA Beach.

Always fun to come in here and browse. The puppy is especially cute! The owner is always so helpful with any questions and was understanding that I was looking for nicer yarn while still on a tighter budget. Plus the yarns feel amazing! Definitely worth the splurge :)

We arrived just as Andrea was closing shop. I am visiting my sister, & am from Maine. I said - You'll miss a good sale! Andrea said mask up & come on in! Our husbands were waiting( not too.patiently) in the car. So my sister & I shopped quickly but very well🛍️🧶 Lovely yarn, lovely Andrea & Handsome Hank; you all made our day! We laughed, chattered & planned projects out of the beautiful local yarn we bought all the way home . Thank you!! Shop the Yarn Club- it's highly recommended by this Mainer!

This place is the (yarn) bomb! The owner is super friendly, the yarn selection is phenomenal, and the classes are really great! Also, they have the cutest, most gene shop dog named Hank. I'm a brand new knitter and the Yarn Club welcomed me with open arms. Every time I've had a question about my projects, they've helped me so much and so thoroughly. I took the toe up sock class (part I) with Lora and I am knitting socks like a pro. Also, there are tables off to one side where you can just hang out and knit! I think that may be the best part. TL; DR if you're looking for a great place to buy quality yarn or take classes, this is the shop for you!

The first time I went to this store I was really excited. They have lots of high end yarn in gorgeous colors. The store dog, Hank, is fun, and the younger girl running the register was friendly. However, I’m a little put off by the owner’s brusque vibe on the phone. I purchased a couple hanks online of yarn that isn’t available at this store. I’m temporarily away from my swift and won’t buy another. I called The Yarn Club to ask if I could bring them in on my next visit to purchase more of their products and was told they wouldn’t cake any yarn that wasn’t purchased in their store. They justified this by saying they didn’t want to wear out mechanical equipment, which is absolutely valid. But they do have hand-crank equipment, and I can’t imagine rejecting a request that would get customers in the store. Either way, I was able to locate a store who was happy to cake yarn not purchased from them (and make any sales associated with the visit). This store may want to reconsider this policy, as it definitely lost them revenue today.

Absolutely lovely little local store for all of your needlework needs. The staff was extremely helpful and on top of their fiber arts game. I just finished the cutest little (a big one) slouchy knit hat with the magic loop method and it is the only hat I can say I can't do without. They are super welcoming and always ready to help you get what you need and find out what that would be in the first place. I'm planning on stopping in before heading back to college to get some project yarn. I can't recommend them enough.

My wife loves this place, the yarn selection is huge If you are looking for high end skeens. The staff is really willing to work you on any project, and offer assistance on any works if you have questions. Be sure to say hi to hank the dog when you are there.

I absolutely adore this place! Everyone here is so welcoming and helpful, whether it's the staff helping you or other patrons of the store these people make you feel like family. Their crochet and knit groups on Wednesdays are a blast with a plethora of colorful and caring personalities, I've learned so much in the past two weeks from these groups and I'm so thankful. I went from not being able to read patterns at all to being able to fallow one confidently as well as learning how to knit. This store is a very warm and caring place that strives to teach people and supply people with their wide variety of gorgeous yarns in all different fibers. If you have the time this cozy yarn heaven is definitely a place worth checking out and supporting.

The Yarn Club is one of the largest yarn stores on the east coast, and it's the only LYS in Virginia Beach. The owner is warm and kindhearted. She takes the time to get to know her customers and makes me feel special whenever I go. There is an active community of regulars who come to stitch together regularly as well. You can't go wrong by stopping in!

Great yarn selection, but not a pleasant experience. Owner was extremely worried about COVID and makes me wonder why they are open. The six foot rule didn’t bother her when taking money only when help was wanted.

Not only do they have a great selection of yarn, they offer classes in crotchet, knitting and weaving. They have all the supplies to complete your projects. There is always someone available to answer questions and resolve any problems you may be having. Seriously if you are interested in yarn crafts you need to check The Yarn Club out!

I enjoyed the beautiful yarns and the fact that they opened doors conveniently when they were supposed to be closed was worth the visit. However, we felt quite unwelcome as my children wanted to touch the yarn and were told immediately dont touch that, and then my very young son sneezed and she told them "don't do that" even though he sneezed into his elbow. Yikes.

(01.03.2018) Well, four years later and I wish I could make this a ten star review, because The Yarn Club has gotten even better. All sorts of interesting, different, and super squishable yarn awaits! And of course, Andrea and her staff are just as wonderful as ever--always ready to help you find the perfect color, fibre, and weight for the project you've got in mind. This place has quickly become my number one LYS. Andrea (owner/manager) is so friendly and happy to see you when you come in, and she knows just what kind of skein you'll want to squish. The staff are happy to help you figure out what you'll need for any project, and if they don't have it, they can usually order it in. If you haven't found this little gem, better haul out your treasure map - this place is solid gold!

I have never had a bad experience here. Andrea has the most helpful staff and loves to see other knitters suceed. The moment that cemented my love for this store was about a year ago, I was working on a scarf for a wedding present and my cast off was waaay too tight. Andrea had me undo it and taught me a stretchy bind off that has become my new go to. I have moved further away now but the drive is worth it for the experience. You will never regret your decision to shop here.

We popped in at 5:30, right before closing and everyone was just lovely- gracious, kind and knowledgeable. The pattern selection was amazing and very current, as well as the booklets available. Also, the yarn selection was well thought out and gorgeous. They even have the red lace chai goo needles! So hard to find! I work in an LYS and I can't give any higher praise to this place.
