Great deals. Never busy. Just have to get what the have. Sometimes things are in, sometimes not. GREAT DEALS ON FURNITURE. Always have festive things for each holiday. Usually food/snacks are the only things you can’t find. Better/same price on all hygiene/over the counter medications as Big box retailers.

Let me tell you.....I've received the BEST service at this location that I had to rave Carson, the young man in the furniture department in the store. He sold me two Serta Cambridge Sofa Twin Sleepers, was fast, courteous and helped my husband load it in our truck. Driving from Portsmouth to Virginia Beach was worth the trip. Thanks Carson for everything.

The staff here is AMAZING, so kind and super helpful!!! Will be back just because of my experience with them. A few of us went to shop their 20% + 20% sale this weekend and although the patio furniture we wanted wasn't in stock in store or online the associates we spoke to were very friendly and down to earth and really tried to get a solution for us. Ultimately the supply issues which have really limited the volume of products available in their distribution centers has customers being upset that things aren't available, so hopefully their corporate office is working diligently to get the products to the stores but we all know the supply issues since covid have really made it difficult for companies. That being said I give 4/5 stars because the store itself was really crowded in that there wasn't a lot of room down the aisles for more than one cart. Constantly had to get out of the way so others could get through.

I went to look for a bakers rack and or microwave stand and the selection of furniture and home items to choose from was very pitiful. Big Lots used to be a great place to shop with decent prices and nice selections of items no matter what you were looking for.

Love the discounts that they have. The store was pretty will laid out. Though they would do better with spacing the furniture out a bit. Some areas are a tight squeeze with a cart. Employees were very nice and friendly. If you asked a question they were more than willing to help out. Most aisles had someone cleaning or stocking.

We visited this store yesterday and I wanted to let them know how much more friendly the employees were than I was expecting. There was a young man at the register and he didn't appear to be open so we got in line at the next register. He immediately said he could help us. He was so polite and friendly. Sadly, I didn't get his name but...thank you. People are going through a lot right now and it is so nice to have a pleasant person help you.

Found what I needed and quickly checked out. Fellow customers maintained safe distances and store was not crowded (about 6 customers) Check out counters had shields and all employees were properly masked. I felt safe here.

The store in Janaf Shopping Center sucks! Their shelves are rarely full and the service is poor. So, I went to the store on General Booth for the first time and it was the total opposite. Their shelves were full and I was able to get all the items I couldn't get at the Norfolk store. I will always go to the General Booth location from now on.

Went there to check out some furniture. R The sales Associate Ruth was very kind and helpful concerning our needs. Highly recommend...I only gave it a 4 because they didn't have what I needed same day.

Furniture Department is Excellent!! This store went from being a ZERO to a HERO since they moved out to Gen Booth Blvd.It is quite a haul for me,but I have now purchased a sectional,sofa table,desk and book case. Every time we go in the store is super clean and well lit. The furniture sales people are always the busiest,but they are worth the wait. I have even been able to call on an item and the salesperson had it held for me! I am really happy with my purchases. Keep on doing what you're doing furniture sales! You're the best!

Always like Big Lots, best prices around and this new-ish store is well organized and clean. Like any other Big Lots, you might not find "exactly" what you are looking for, so be flexible. Also if you find something and think, "maybe next time", understand that it might not be there next time.

Now that I discovered there's another Big Lots on this side of town. I felt devastated after the one by Chimney Hill closed down. Great place to shop. This will be my store regardless of the drive.

Convenient location for the people living in Ocean Lakes, Red mil, Oceana base and General Boot area. It is located in the old Kmart in General Boot. Good selection of merchandise, plenty parking. Store is clean and well lit. Friendly staff. This store is smaller than most Big Lots un the area.

Only place that carries the best gummy bears EVER! They have 5 lb bags of Albanese gummies - Haribo Gold can't even be compared. On a serious note, the employees are always very helpful, courteous, and will go out of their way for you. They carry many quality items and you don't have to deal with the Walmart attitude.

Found that the Holland Road Big Lots moved to General Booth into the old Kmart location behind the Pizza Hut and Stake and Shake. Much larger than the old store and it makes good use of the old Kmart. Food, Furniture, pets, automotive, and much much more!

They advertised a vanity as 3 in store. I drove up from Virginia and they weren't on the floor. Not enough people working so I left and ordered online for delivery.
