Live by the store for 4+ years - passed it twice a day and never knew about it. I stopped in today because I was told they carry Carrera slot cars - and they do. Nice assortment of them but mostly tracks and kits, not a whole lot of the cars. I bought two Carrera AMG cars for half the price on Amazon - pretty excited about that. Hopefully they will get some new cars in soon.

There is a good selection of hobbies that you can choose from. The staff is friendly and definitely have knowledge of the inventory that is kept at the stores location as well as other locations. I am very new to the radio control hobby I wasn't sure on exactly what I needed The staff pointed me in the right direction to make sure that I got what I needed to be a satisfied customer. Hate to make it the 421st review. But After several years of being out of the hobby. I’m back into racing again Years ago I quit going to Hobby town due to the personnel. The new manager there is more than helpful and very very knowledgeable on my RC car needs. I have had nothing but epic experiences. He really helped me with everything I would need to do my build. I did not Purchace my car there tho. He was right with everything and did not sell me Nonsense. I will be back very soon I’m sure

They are well known for the RC department and everything remote control, but I love the "other side" of the store. Awesome for Christmas gifts, toys, educational toys, fun toys, gross things, telescopes, trains, electric cars and tracks. They have baby dolls, and other things for the little ones. If you still love family time, they have a great selection of board games and puzzles. Always love to spend time walking around and looking!

Great service..awesome products to include train's real large selection of RC cars and a great selection of military models which is what I do.... Their prices were very competitive and reasonable. Also have a great supply of paints and other modeling accessories... I will be shopping there many more times in future even though I have to drive an hour to get there...

I build model cars, so I'm not a core customer, but they still carry enough of the basics to keep me coming back, plus the staff are always friendly and helpful. The selection of detail parts and supplies has almost disappeared and kit selection in store is adequate but not what I remember it to be. Scratchbuilding materials are kept well stocked.

Very nice shop. Very helpful employee's. I've seen a lot of people complain about returns. I had an issue withy train controller. I brought it back, and they returned the set with no problems at all. Everyone was very nice and professional. I brought another set and they refunded the difference. I will definitely continue to do business with them, and recommend everyone to check them out

Wish they had more nitro rc stuff, but I can't complain. They have fuel(most of the time) and glow plugs, that's about all you can expect nowadays. The electric rc selection is extensive, along with a wide array of tools, parts and accessories. Not to mention plenty of other hobby goodies(scale modeling, slot cars, trains, Warhammer, etc.etc.)

If you're looking for RC, tabletop games, and a whole slew of other things, check em out! I've been shopping there for years!

Went with my nephew to get him a model robot to build, and I was seriously impressed by ALL the models they had on display. Normal stuff like trains, and his robots, but then there were castles, and planes, and drones, and some other stuff I couldn't figure out, but maybe you will. The staff was very friendly and the items we bought were at a good price.

My husband bought our 7yr old a Rage Blue Marlin rc boat as a gift. We charged up battery and off we went. We put it in water, ran for about 2 minutes and it stopped. After we struggled to get it close to us, we grabbed it out of water and found rotor gone. We went to store following day and they were great. We were told it was a manufacturing problem. They were able to get the replacement. But versus us having to wait for part, the store gave us a new one. They were great about it and they made my 7yr old a very happy customer.

I love this place. The younger guy that I think owns it always helps me and even gave me a train table for free for my kids that he personally owned. You can always shop online but I really like to support him. You get the same great service if it is a $2 dollar part or $450 dollar heli. Just good people

Excellent hobby shop, I've been here several times for model kit paints and supplies. If I've ever had questions about which products work best for a project, the staff has been excellent about pointing me in the right direction. Some of the prices are a bit steep, but this being a niche market, I understand why not everything in the store is dirt cheap (the Tamiya brand paints, in particular, are expensive everywhere). Great shop, would recommend to anyone looking for model supplies beyond your basic Testor's "My first model" kit.

I visited today for the first time, new to the RC car world. i came in with a problem on the ESC on my traxxas rustler, the competitor store at university mall didn't even bother to look at it they were so busy they said i would have to drop it off and come back in a few days. so i came here and was very pleased with the service the guy re calibrated the ESC within 5 mins free of charge. I ended up buying a new battery from them and a charger. very pleased with heir service

After reading all these scary reviews about this place, I was a little nervous going in. as soon as I walked though the door, i was greeted respectfully and was told if I had any questions feel free to ask. They recently changed management and now its genuinely a nice place with great customer service ( as of 5/18/13) I had Major issues with my 450 CP heli, and somone who worked there set up my radio and my heli.For 5 hours.for 25$. thats value that is unbeatable. the workers knowledge was extensive and he was friendly, while professional. Its a big store, with about a million parts. Everything you could ever ask for...

I wanted to reach out to you to let you know of my great experience in the Tampa Hobby town location. I purchased a Ethos quadcopter and I love it! A few days after I damaged one of the motor arms and came in last night at 7:30pm to get a replacement part. With not know what to do I was direct to a very nice technician name Nino ( forgive my spelling if it is not correct). He showed me the part and he must have had a sense that I did not know how to repair it because with out me even asking he began to assist me with fixing it. He walked me through how to do it and when completed we noticed it still had trouble flying. I thought it was the motor but he found it was the remote and took apart to find it had rare issue where the solder joint had come loose from the joystick. My point is that he could easily of handed me the parts and let me leave to only have a horrible experience trying to figure out what was wrong with the unit and having to go back and forth to the hobby store. I really appreciated his outstanding customer service and willingness to make sure I was able to enjoy my new quadcopter last night. I wanted you to know that above and beyond customer service a huge part of our business and I always look for it where I shop and is rarely found. He seems to really love what he does and it shows through his outstanding customer service :) Sincerely, Troy Weintraub

Just make sure you get the right guy. There's a youngish kid there who seems to have trouble stringing more than three words together. He doesn't know squat and worse doesn't know how to say so. You'll know quick if you get someone with the knowledge to help. If you do, you'll have a good experience. If not just walk out and come back
