Reviews of Gringo Jones Imports
This place has a maze of amazing stuff! The people working are also very sweet. But! The hygiene of this place is horrid, it smells. My curiosity got the best of me so I stayed to look throughout the entire store. But I will not be back, if the store didn’t have a horrid smell or pee on the floor I definitely would give them five stars.
Very unique store. Too many items to mention all. They have metal art, clay pottery, wind chimes, furniture, jewelry, bird baths, homemade soaps.
This is a legendary experience for St. Louis residents and vistors its like going through your grandma's attic or basement and finding unique treasures. Their imported Mexican pottery is a staple of many gardens around the city. Don't be deterred by the seeming chaos of the store le, that's part of its wonder! Check out is always fun because the staff really enjoy their customers, and aren't afraid to fire off a good one-liner!
Eclectic antiques and rare finds. Full of reclaimed industrial outdoor art, concrete statues, more Talavera art work then the eye can comprehend. Definitely worth checking out. You could spend 5 mins or 5 hours here looking around!
Went here for the first time recently and this is by far the most unique and quirky shop I have been to. New things, old things, stylish/elegant things, unusual things you won't find anywhere else. You could roam around here for quite some time if you wanted to and the prices are very reasonable. Attached is a photo of two stained glass windows that my boyfriend got for me and hung in my windows. They are absolutely stunning and automatically made my living room much cozier! They have all kinds of beautiful designs for these windows. The staff were incredibly friendly and Rod in particular really made our day with his sense of humor and warmth. He took quite a bit of time helping us and even helping me decide which Tiffany lamp would look better in my living room, helping us carry things to the car, etc. I would recommend this place to anyone and we will definitely be back!
Where to start, there is no right place or wrong place. You can go left or right or just wandering around the front area before even stepping foot into this visual nightmare of wonderful colors. You could spend the day inside here looking at all the variety of different things and types of decor. No point even trying to convince everyone how much fun this place is. So just take a moment and enjoy the photos.
This was a delightful splurge of a side trip for me and my husband but we had a great time exploring room after room of eclectic items. The owners/staff were so friendly and helpful and just a delight. The dogs were also super sweet and adorable to watch as they surveyed the grounds and plopped down on their thrones. We will be coming back for sure.
Always an adventure, always something unexpected, always something new. I love exploring this shop. The owner and the shop staff are also kind and hilarious. I'll be back!!
So much to look at. Everything is so interesting and fairly priced. Owner is very friendly. My kids loved the dogs and the cats. 😊 …
My husband LOVES their dogs!!
Omg...if you're looking for something beautiful and unique for your home or garden this is definitely the place. However, if you have an extreme allergy to dogs you probably shouldn't go inside. The owners adorable pups hang out inside.
I love this place! I go here a few times a year and can not resist purchasing something quirky and fun.
I'm known for buying their cast aluminum sculptures (usually animals) and painting them bright and bold colors and placing them around my pool. They're fun to look at and our guests- adults and children- love to take pictures on or with them.
I have a young rhinoceros, young hippo, baby hippo, a full size alligator and a baby alligator, full size warthog, full size lion, life size mermaid and huge tortoise (probably life sized?). We have bought and are waiting for a shipment of a 7 foot giraffe, a young elephant, a 7 foot flamingo (no idea how that one is going to look) and a full sized, fully fanned peacock.
I've also bought: fossilized dinosaur poop (a coprolite) that I gave to my awesomely weird nephew, oodles of unique and funny Christmas ornaments, a 1 foot tall plastic bigfoot that I hide around the landscaping and yard, a concrete sea snake, and a life sized concrete bigfoot that I gave my dad for his birthday (they named him "Bob" and the neighbors enjoy pranking him!)
I'm sure I'm missing some stuff I've bought there. Basically it has something for everyone. Great place for gifts for people who have everything already.
A massive whimsical metal and enamel fiesta of items from pottery, lawn art to antiques, wind chimes and wall decor. Colorful latin american pieces for wall, tables and display number in the 1000's throughout the two story house/store and adjoining yards. The only issue with the huge inventory is focusing on the individual items that work for you. Prices are very fair and with a variety of sales, they become extremely affordable. The proprietor is friendly and very helpful. Leave a trail of bread crumbs or you may get lost in the yard.
If you're looking for something specific, you could find it here, or you might not....but you will almost absolutely find something to take home. This place has room after room of decorative planters, ornaments, baubles, statues, etc. Beware if you have allergies to dogs/cats, as they have MANY on site, but they are well behaved and stay to themselves. However, because of the number of animals, there are area where it stinks, or where you have to watch where you step. 🤨.
Love all the nooks and crannies to explore to find things. I went because I had a gift certificate but spent much more once I realized everything there was too cute. Could be dangerous to my credit cards! Owners are amazing
Very unique items from around the world. Must check it out
What a treasure! Worth the stop to buy gifts and chat with the owners (the sweetest dogs!)
An absolute oddity! This is a MUST any time we are traveling around St.Louis.
We enjoyed our experience! Treated us like family. Owner and the staff so friendly and helpful! So in love with my TALAVERA items
Never change GJ. You can find it here. The dogs are so cute and kind!
The owner and staff are great, easy to work with, and fun. Great prices and products. You could spend an afternoon and still find new things.
A strange collection of merchandise arranged in multiple rooms and terrace's, a fun place with interesting figurines in front. Playful owner.
I would've walked out with so much more stuff if my car had room. There's so many rooms to walk through and it's hard not to find things you absolutely love. There's something for everyone here!
This is a most interesting place. The gentlemen who run it are friendly and outgoing and helpful. They always have the most interesting things, such as Mexican imports, cast metal products and other items of interest. Our patio is furnished with their furniture and lit by their light posts. I have loved this place for over 25 years.
Do you like the art you see in Mexican restaurants? Do you like random antiques, carved storage furniture, and handmade home decor? Do you just want an excuse to pet some dogs? If yes to any of the above, you'll have a good time here. This place is loaded with hand-painted Mexican(?) art, including lots and lots of plant pots, painted ceramic lizards, dogs, anthropomorphic suns, and more. In addition to this, they have lots of old, carved furniture and miscellaneous other antiques. Everything in here looked reasonably priced. This would be a great place to get some unique planters without having to spend a fortune. When you first come into the store, you'll see a corner to your left with a bunch of chairs in it. When I came today, there were five or six dogs sleeping there. I befriended a sweet chunky boxer who started to follow me around the store until he got tired of it. The people working here are very friendly and told us that they have just under 10,000 square feet of store space. You could spend a whole day in here and still not see everything. I'm looking forward to coming back and exploring the place more.
Truly a magical place. Stopped here while on a mini vacation and even went back the next day. The workers are lovely and make you feel at home. Come in with an open mind and you’ll find some really unique items.
One of my favorite stores in St Louis! There is always something to catch your eye and wonder where it will work at in your house so you can justify buying it! The staff & owners are phenomenal, funny, very engaging and even include my kids in conversation. I highly recommend this store! Remember to shop local!
Very unique and interesting place to visit. If you'd like to buy some pottery, or a life-size giraffe, or maybe a necklace or a birthday card this is the place to look. It's a STL staple for taking your visitors.
I did but know what to expect when I arrived! They have lots of neat things. I went for something specific but when I arrived I realized that I will need more time to explore the store, so I will definitely return to do that. The staff was friendly which is always a plus. Some items I thought were a little overpriced but it's inline with the neighborhood demographic I guess.
So. Funky. Fascinating collection of old and new and eclectic. Greeted by friendly dogs and cats throughout the rambling, several level building. Need a life size statue of a Clydesdale or a centaur? Cool jewelry? Fossils? Garden pots or statuary? Unusual old furniture to fix up? You'll find it here.
Great place. Great employees. Super cool items. We didn't want to leave as we kept discovering unique stuff!
-Wedding Manatee Guy
What I love about their motto is "We have nothing you need." It's true but won't stop me. Tons of decor and odds and ends. Need some old architectural pieces? It's there. Need some salvaged stained glass windows? Look up. Need a 15ft tall metal giraffe? Look no more! Need some one of a kind jewelry? It's by the counter. No telling what you'll find. Its a cross between an antique store and a Pier One but better. This is also an LGBT owned business which doesn't affect their product but still neat. Worth a stop before you skip town.
I had always wanted to check this place out; I had seen their commercials and driven by this place for years, but never went in til recently. And I'm SO HAPPY I DID! The entire shop is unique and their products are so eclectic! Great place for gifts! I can almost guarantee that there is something for everyone here. And the people there are friendly, helpful, sweet and not pushy at all. They want to make sure you that when you leave, you're happy about your experience.
Fantastic products! Friendly staff.. fair prices, wont hesitate to get our water features from them when we're ready! Only reason it's not 5 stars is the strong smell of dogs, if you are allergic to that or asthmatic dont go inside.
I've passed this place a million times on my way to The Botanical Gardens. I've always noticed the exciting statuary and such that crowds the sidewalk, but I've never stopped to check it out...until yesterday! My mother-in-law and I were in the area for lunch and decided to do a little exploring first. Apparently, she's quite a fan of this place, but hadn't stopped by in quite awhile.
I was a big fan of all the beautiful tiles they sell - especially the blue and white ones! I could just imagine my kitchen with a huge make-over!
Give yourself some time to really explore when you stop by because every single inch is filled with a million colorful things! Very fun!!
Very cool stuff! You never know what you will get. Dogs in there so cute they just hang out on little dog sofas very cool place!
One of my favorite stores. Lots of stuff you didn't know you needed.
This is a retail experience you have to experience. You'll find the most odd and random assortment of...things here. It was a pleasure to just walk around and the eccentric, friendly employees seemed to match the personality of the store.
Unlike most retails stores, this place was a mess. I think that's part of its charm. It's very cluttered. It's housed is a two story building so you can go upstairs or into different rooms to find different themes or assortments.
My biggest issue was this place was the cleanliness. I'm a dog owner and animal lover..and I love when businesses are pet friendly...but I had to get out of there after a short while because of the animal urine/feces smell. If this place cleaned up a bit and monitored their animals then it could be a lot cooler of a place.
Little chaotic and messy but lots of fun to rummage the unique items.
Got to see this place... for your yard, your deck, patio, garden and everywhere in between... really neat stuff...LOVE IT!
Always a stop when visiting the Missouri Botanical!
Beautiful place, friendly people! Even has dogs!
Need a life size bigfoot statue? This is the place for you. Also a unique selection of decor and antiques. One of the most charming and idiosyncratic stores I have ever encountered.
An amazing shop of curiosities and treasures!
Have always wanted to venture inside , interesting mix of old and new merchandise. Much from south of the border, home decor, furniture from possibly estate sales. Building is well aged, store is on all 4 stories . One door was open to the roof. Business smelled of dogs and had signs up advising of possiblity of dog poo on floor. However, the dogs were very well behaved. Differently an adventure.
Nice place but just not wheelchair accessible. Everything under the sun, huge T-rex, giraffe, new sunflowers and roosters of all sizes. Worth the drive for fun, whimsical and unique items to dress your abode with.
I just love this place so much. It's my go-to for talavera pottery (barring a trip to Mexico), and every time I come here I end up finding something amazing that I didn't know I needed!
This is one of the most colorful stores in Saint Louis. It's right down the street from the botanical gardens so it's very easy to find. The staff there so incredibly and Rod is always a delight. You do need to be aware that they have dogs and cats there so if you have allergies you might want to have someone else shop for you instead.
Love my planters I bought! And they are having a sale thru March - 30% off!
I love this place! I was looking for a bird bath and one of the employees took me all over the store showing them to me. The birdbaths were all 20 prevent off and I found a beautiful, colorful, unique one that I love. Such a cool store.
The store is amazing fun things around every corner. The staff is hysterical you'll have a great time. The owner is always there to talk to everyone and thank them for coming in. You have to go
If lived near by I'd stop in once a month to fill my yard with decor from this store.
This place ROCKS! Lots of unique items and reasonable prices. Even if you have to make a special trip, it's worth it! If you run into a lady named Kim behind the counter, chat her up. She's a hoot and she KNOWS that store and what's in it!!
I just loved Gringo Jones from the moment I was greeted by the owner's 2 boxers. Beautiful, friendly dogs who welcomed me into the store. I met his coon hound as I walked further into the store & the owner himself. It was a really eclectic experience. I bought a concrete fish, a card & a grouse plate. Where else could I find these 3 items in one store. I will be back & told my girlfriends, who are also interested. BTW, I got a sniff over by my dogs when I got home.
Love this place and love the guys could have stayed n been broke. Looooovvvvveeeee it.
This is the coolest place! They have all sorts of things for inside and outside. Looking for something for out in the yard, they have it Need something for in the house? They have all sorts of things. Looking for something that is out of the ordinary, have that hard to shop for friend? Check out Gringo Jones! Very unique things!
I purchased some glass wall hangings from the store. Rod spent over an hour showing me how I should arranged them on my wall and also gave me extra tips and suggestions about them. It is so much fun going to the store. Leon and Rod can make your day!!
I visit this wonderful gem a few times a year when I need a special piece. However, one or two days before christmas, without fail, I with come through these doors looking for a very special and particular piece for my aunt. Every year, it's hard shipments of the same dynamic but need to be enough different to show that I am putting thought into it, and you know what... they NEVER DISAPPOINT!! I always find exactly what I need, even with the crazy rooms and overwhelming shelves they have your back, becuz they are always there to help if you want it. This place is a gem for St. Louis and certainly worth looking into!
If you can't get to Mexico they've got you covered.
This is definitely a destination place. Owners are great and so many unique finds! Come prepared to spend hours looking around and chatting.
This place is amazing. I always take out of towners here and they also love it. The staff are so nice and helpful. Very unique and awesome inventory. LOVE THIS PLACE!
One of the most unique shops in the STL area. Friendly owners, fantastic variety, and probably the friendliest Chihuahua I ever met. Even had a resident cat that followed me about.
I've purchased several items from GJ, from a 'floating' yard ornament to a sterling silver bracelet. All top quality. I'm now looking for a cement bird bath and will search here first.
We were visiting St. Louis for a short getaway exploratory trip. On the way to the amazing botanical garden (also a must) we passed this gem! I told the other half, I MUST go back. The next day we went back. We trolled around, up steps, through turns, down steps, into rooms, to the basement, back up... It kept going! The owner and all the staff were so kind. There was so much to see, so much to experience, so much to appreciate! The selection of ceramic pottery from Mexico is unlike any other I have seen, even on our trip to Mexico! I was able to find pieces I wanted to bring home from Mexico, that I wasn't able to due to potential damage, not this time!! If I ever go back to St. Louis, my first stop will be back to Gringo Jones Imports for more time to chat woth the owner and explore what other treasures I can find.
Cute stuff, we bought a concrete sculpture and a wooden tiki mask. Lots of stuff to look at/ buy. One of the artists was painting out back.
This place is cool. It has a million things you didnt know you had to have. Always fun and a pair of boxer dogs are at the door to greet you upon arrival. One of my favorite places.
Funky shop with friendly service and impressive collection of Mexican pottery, which was even on sale the day I stopped in. They also have fun locally made patio art for the Cardinals and the Blues. I'd skip the second floor - overpriced used furniture in marginal condition and it reeks of cat urine up there. I'd also skip the basement - again overpriced used furniture and a sign says to beware of "Boxer Bombs" (aka their dogs go No. 2 in the basement).
So much fun exploring all of the fun things in the store! My girls were looking forward to seeing the store dogs all day- Daryl, his brother Daryl, Brownie, and the little guy with 3 legs!
Truly an amazing place but not for snowflakes or people Don't want to step out of the Hilton You will find amazing things from all around the world
Lots of eclectic things. Has concrete sculpture. metal benches. Stained glass Pottery Paintings glassware welded art And unusual items from Mexico
If you're looking for the unique or even the bitzzare this is the place for you. Lots of concrete, metal, and ceramics pieces. Especially with the Mexican flair. Owner very friendly and carefully wraps each ceramic piece for travel. Fun place just to browse.
They have what nobody else has in St Louis to make your home unique. Their prices are fair considering everything you would have to do to bring a ceramic sick all the way from Mexico. I know they live their digs, I know they are well behaved and very cute, I know they admonish you are entering a dog's property... But the place is a little too smelly to my shopping taste.
Awesome for Tourists to buy gifts.
Fun And reasonable priced Items Great Service and Friendly Pups.
A great place to browse and find interesting items for your home, yard, or garden! Fun, eclectic, and colorful. Right next to Botanical Gardens, friendly staff, and easy to find. I'll definitely be going back the next time I'm in the area.
Love Gringo Jones! I have found some awesome antique furniture here at great prices. Love all of the Mexican painted Terra cotta, and there's just so many different things and amazing furniture. And there's three stories of it. :) the staff is also super helpful and nice.
Had a wonderful time shopping and talking with the staff. Taking two great finds home! Also updated the location. Is near the bug store, not the pub. Hope we can come back one day.
What fun! I'm not really an antique aficionado but I always find something I simply can't live without. Made sure you set aside enough time to browse and engage in a chat with the owners.
A fun place to look around. So many items from Mexico.
Awesome employees, soooo much cool stuff!
As a lover of eclectic items, this store was my heaven. The family dogs met you at the door, and the staff was so nice! I can't wait to go back!
Love, love, love this place! So much to look at, so much to buy!!
I love this place!!!!

I like it they had a ton of fun stuff it is a fun place because there are fun ways to get to the roof and basement to they have weird stuff it is really funny and cool. If you are looking for a fun place then I suggest going here.🙂🙂🙂🥰🥳 …
This place is great! You never know what kind of unusual household decorations you're going to find. Big selection of concrete statuary and the world's best chimes.
Joe is absolutely terrific. I help a local artist sell her works and he helped us out so much! Such a welcoming crowd everything k go in. So glad to be doing business with them!
Do you like handmade, authentic ceramic, pottery, glassware directly from Mexico? Then this is your place. Plus there's all sorts of metal pcs bent and colored. Yard garb and whatnot. Check them out. You'll be glad you did.
So many fun items. I enjoyed shopping and visiting with the owner. Great place to find eclectic decor for your home.
Very unique experience. Incredible variety of goods at reasonable prices. Well worth the visit. Inventory always changes, so stop in frequently.
This is hands down the BEST place to buy Mexican blankets in STL! Plus their store is got a super array of things for items for people you have a hard time shopping for!
It's a staple of the Tower Grove area. Only complaint is that it's very cramped moving around in the store. I'm a tall guy and there were several times I teetered an expensive item due to my physical frame. Plenty of unique garden fixtures if that's your thing.
This store is awesome! They have everything you can imagine to decorate your yard. I got my little dragon here.
Great assortment friendly staff
Great product. Great service. Reasonable prices. If you are looking for something nice , quirky, or decorative for patio, garden, home this is the place.
Love this place! Whenever we go to the Botanical Gardens, we stop at Gringo Jones also! Unique, fare trade items. Love the jewelry, scarfs and one of a kind finds!
If you haven't been here you missed out.
Amazing selection, great prices and products. We were amazed by what all they had in stock. And super nice people to deal with!

We always have a blast in here. I've been coming with my mom for years and it's so much fun to walk around and chat with the owners.
Great staff! We arrived just before closing and the staff stayed late so our family could pick out a couple pumpkins. Thanks for a wonderful experience!!
I love everything about this place. The owners, the dogs, the selection, and the prices are all amazing.

Great place to look for unique gifts and items. Staff and dogs were very nice!(I even got a kiss from the dog!)
Super diverse and interesting selection, good prices, sweet dogs and accomodating staff members. I can't wait to go back!
Need that one thing to complete your decor inside or outside? This place probably has it! What a fun experience going through all the rooms!
Awesome place
Very unique place. Really liked all the stuff and the building it was in. Didn't really care for the forced political discussion at the register, though.
They keep dogs and cats in there and the odor is overwhelming, made my eyes burn, had to go outside and wait on my friends.
Great prices for an eclectic collection. Rod was friendly and fun. Went to browse and came home with some small unexpected treasures.
Taco's are ok, they're al la carte & anywhere from $3+ each. Drinks are normal price ($6+). Not a bad environment if you want to drink but the food is so-so.
Very unique gift shop. Even has the owners make snide remarks to you which is really funny
Staff are very kind. The products are good quality. I will definitely visit again. Very calm and inviting feeling there.
This store is so much fun. They have the most unique pottery and merchandise as well as cool owners.
This place has some very eclectic pieces. If you don't know what that is, go there. You'll buy something!
You can always find something here, bought some house numbers today & a new pot for my cactus.
I always pass this cute little shop on the way to the Botanical Gardens. The sculptures are really nice but some of the things inside can be overpriced.
really cool shop, tons of variety. everyone should visit once, especially St Louis residents
Love grunge Jones. Great art type field trip. Very enjoyable busy place to browse.
Super friendly amazing people! Will be returning in the future just to see them again! Plus their fur babies.
Great selection of Talavera
Going back to add to my collection.
