This Macy’s is nice, but Macy’s in general confuses me. Years ago, they were a higher-end option, having useful and beautiful things at a fairly reasonable price (in comparison to somewhere like Bloomingdale’s, which has gone so high-end that it’s often difficult to find anything useful there), but these days Macy’s just *feels* like it’s in retail distress, like it’s one or two years away from becoming an anchor store for dead malls and soaking in the surplus dead mall vibe getting piped in from the a/c vents and wafting through the boarded-up entrance to the main mall and auditioning HARD for this coveted job by starting on their own to get that deadmall/labelscar feeling down pat. All they need to do is start piping in nightcore music, and they’d be nine-tenths of the way there. I don’t dislike Macy’s, I’m just saying how I feel. It’s kind of weird, and I really wish this decline would stop. It was likely a mistake to try to ‘ghetto-up’ their style and offerings too much, and now a lot of their style — both in terms of retail goods and in-store atmosphere — feels dated and a little trashy. Dear Macy’s Corporate: I *want* to like you. I really, really do. PLEASE give me a reason to fall in love with you again. Let’s roll back this corporate image to, say, 1995 and never make the mistake of trying to appease and appeal to ‘the new generation’, or whatever was pitched in some meeting that ended up leading us to where we are, a store that looks like it’s on its last legs, one that feels like there should be water stains all over the walls and ceilings, smelly, dirty carpets, and restrooms that are portals — very run-down, poorly-lit, smelly portals — to Hell. This is a lesson in You Chose Wrong; hit rewind before it’s too late. Please. As for the Sioux Falls Macy’s, it’s…a Macy’s. The nice man at the Customer Service desk and the CS manager were wonderful (unfortunately I went there with a Macy’s to home shipping problem, but they resolved it), and I ended up buying some cute stuff. I’ll most probably return. There’s nothing wrong with this Macy’s that isn’t wrong with the entire chain. And Macy’s Corporate: please clean your stores. All of them. I’m talking about steam-cleaning or replacing carpets, painting or redesigning your walls and ceilings, and REMODEL AND CLEAN YOUR RESTROOMS; for most of the Macy’s I go in, this isn’t an issue of your restrooms needing a good cleaning; you’ve reached the ‘nuke it from orbit; it’s the only way to be sure’ stage. Please help me keep loving you. 😕

The staff is so professional. Everyone is friendly. Sandy did my makeup. We used Lancôme. I am allergic to many cosmetic products so Lancôme is my go-to. She did an amazing job. I didn’t have a specific look, I told her to do whatever she sees fit. She was nice, fun and super friendly. She made me feel comfortable. I will definitely recommend shopping here…my makeup came out great!

Nice store although items are almost bare. I typically use them to shop online and pick up or ship to the store. This location doesn’t have my items in stock. I wear a small/medium and size 9 in shoes. Even jewelry, makeup and other items are hit and miss. Associates are extremely nice and the store is clean.

I really enjoyed shopping here. One of the retail associates was very friendly and kind. She even mentioned the sales and promotions that were going on in the store. Other sales associates were very nice. Also, the prices at Macy's may be a bit high but its definitely worth it for the big brands! Especially me considering I like Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger, Calvin Klein, etc. With the sale going on the prices were very affordable. Overall, I recommend Macy's for their customer service as well as unique brands and their pricing.

This store is up and running at full strength and full stock throughout. Masks not required, but 6ft spacing and hand sanitizer everywhere. Sales in progress and a great mix of quality merch. Very, very nice.

Guys if you are in search of an expert on fragrances for men I can tell you I have finally found somebody in Sioux Falls that knows their stuff! She has been doing this for over 30 years and works at the Macy's counter in the men's department. She is constantly researching different fragrances from companies all over the world. She's also conscientious and make sure that no out-of-date products are being sold that are weak or gone bad. I recently bought some Paco Rabanne Prive' there and she was extremely helpful. I have been in here several times over the years. They have the best in person fragrance purchasing experience for perfume. The curly haired sales lady that has been there for a long time is very knowledgeable and is a go to for getting perfume. The cologne on the other side is hit or miss. They had a nice lady working the counter when I was there on Memorial Day. The pricing is not very competitive however. Even if they give you the gift bags and extras you can get a lot more online for cheaper and more extras. I hope they keep this Macy's open for a while.

I had call ahead to find an item I was looking for wool walker coat in black petite size. June, whom I spoke with was super helpful. So I ran up to Macys which was an hour away from me. Met June and she showed me the product. Unfortunately it was not petite so it just hung on me like an over loaded branch with snow. But June was so nice! She said she could order it and have it be sent to me. Plus I would get an e,tra discount. So it ended up being cheaper than I had expected. I would definitely shop here again! June was super helpful!
