Not like it used to be shopping here. The only employees we saw included the lady rehanging clothes in the dressing room and one running around putting things back on racks and those behind the 1 checkout. Used to be there were one or two employees in each department. The one in ladies department didn't speak much. A fellow customer needed help finding a department and my hubby had to help. Items were crammed into clearance racks so tightly and in such a disorganized way it was hard to shop. It was hard to find things even that weren't on clearance as it seemed it was put where there was room. The lady putting things away didn't greet me or ask if I needed help she literally shoved a few things on a rack and walked away. We saw no employees in shoes or bedding either. The employees behind the counter were helpful but I was surprised how they were allowed to dress. It seemed one lady was in charge of 3 or 4 others that worked the registers. Every customer had to go through that counter. There were signs to have customers follow but of course that didn't always happen.

Went and found a silver necklace that I needed to hold my medication. Maria, my clerk was great. She showed me various pieces and helped pick out the one I bought. She is a treasure for this department and Penny's. Keep up the great work.

Great selection, reasonable prices. The staff is friendly. There are a lot of items in here and they are spread throughout the store. You’ve gotta hung for things as there are items everywhere, but lots of current styles.

I've been a pennies girl since I worked there, but this day my 12 yo was trying on pants in the "men's" fitting room. There were 2 ladies in the accessible stall trying on clothes and the boss lady was hounding them to get out. Not sure how I feel, if it was profiling or... but - I don't go into the same dressing room with my friend. We come out and show eachother. The boss lady had icky energy. Kid found pants.

JcPenny must be in the middle of a remodel now. I am giving it a generous 4 stars - as there is obvious adjustments going on - it feels as though the adjustments have been going on for a while. I was pleasantly surprised though as I came in looking for a kitchen item - and found what I was looking for - though it was more expensive then I anticipated. To be honest - no one else in town had it - so I left a happy camper! They seemed in stock on their items - and I did browse other items that were priced aggressively - overall a good experience!

We can't find there cute dresses but they can be with too much open back or front, for christian people like, I would like to see there more dresses that are properly closed and long not mini, and long sleeves

They have a great selection of business casual clothing. I was able to find several outfits for my new job. My main complaint is: before we started shopping, we asked the check out associate about a coupon. We had her explain it and then started shopping. I was on a budget and had been working from home for years so I needed a ton of clothes. We checked out with the same person and she said "the coupon only applies to this (one thing)... the rest doesn't qualify." I asked why she didn't say that when we talked to her originally and she just shrugged. She said there was nothing she could do that we either needed to pay the tag price or put them back. I had already spent 2 hours picking 10 outfits and trying on clothes so I paid WAY more than I was planning to. + = great selection - = poorly trained staff and vague coupon policies

My husband and I shopped for some clothes for me the Saturday after Black Friday. Some of the clothing areas needed a lot of straightening. I was standing near the employee only door when two employees brought a new employee out on the floor. One of them told the new hire where another bathroom was so he could go in there and get away from work for a while, that he would find it very useful to get away every so often. We couldn't locate the fitting rooms except the one that was closed and blocked off. So we just decided to buy my clothes and let me try them on and decide at home. My husband told our cashier she had his respect. She thanked him and said Black Friday was much harder. As we were leaving, we saw a employee straightening a section, and my husband told her she had his respect. We asked for directions to the door we had entered and she told us where the door was. Very nice.

The selection was so-so in the men's department and very poor in the women's department. The chairs next to the women's changing room were pretty uncomfortable and I take that as a reflection on how much the supportive boyfriend/husband is valued by the store.

Clean store. Friendly staff. I'm not sure of the cut off time but they did allow me a 24 hour hold on clothing I was debating for a family photo shoot. Greatly appreciated. A small Sephora is located within. Numerous entry points to the store. No longer require masks but signs present to keep 6 ft apart. Shields still present at check outs.

Went to buy an outfit for my mother for her birthday and was hoping to get a shirt, capri and canvas shoes for less than $100 and I found the perfect outfit and shoes for only $84, thanks to the checkout lady that had an extra 25% off coupon if I used my JCPenny card. My mother loved it.

Def wasnt too bad. They had a sale on little backpack type of handbags and had some priced accordingly and some not. However the staff was pretty great with sales stuff, always looking up coupons to save and overriding the ticket if it was supposed to be on sale but the system didn't catch it.

The people were nice, and the sales were good but the store was an absolute wreck! Piles of unfolded shirts and stacks of things completely disheveled. It was a real turn off. If the total value of your items exist in the quality and care of how your story is presented then feel grateful that I gave you three stars.

The only reason I am giving 4 stars instead of 5 is they have a mask policy but I saw so many people without one. If you have a policy, enforce it. Also because people obviously don't know how to wear a mask perhaps put a picture up on how to wear one. I love Penny's it is a great place to shop. If you are serious about the safety of your customers enforce your policies. I counted almost a dozen people with no masks and another half dozen wearing them around their chin.

I love coming here to see all the amazing suits, slacks and sport coats! There is always something to find and it is almost always at a great price! Also, it is one of the few places that sells suit separates. Which is great for a guy like me with a broad chest and a smaller waist. Thanks JCPenney!

Very typical of most JC Penneys I have been to...maybe even a bit cleaner and more organized than most. I love the clothing brands that they carry. Great selection of regular and plus sized clothes. Parking wasn't an issue. I enjoyed shopping here.

JC Penny is an old-style department store which could offer some really nice things, but I found the men's clothing section overstuffed and difficult to find items. Shelves were not neat or tidy. Racks of pants and shirts were out of order and it was difficult and time consuming to seek out where the sizes were since so much was out of order. Staff was nice when I could find someone, but overall the store feels cluttered to me. Prices seem pretty high.

I've always been able to find things that I liked at JCPenney. They have good sales, in general, and good quality clothing. Unfortunately, they have had to reduce staff over the years so the stores haven't been kept up quite as much. However, it would certainly be sad to see them go out of business. I think they fill a niche and the one in Sioux Falls always has lots of customers.

At check out their was line of 4 people. The one's checking out were finished when a girl came up and put ALLOT on the counter very late i would say. Tye cashier let them start with checking them out AGAIN. She should have said you have to go to the end of the line. But of course she didn't. SO everything we had went back on your shelves.

I really like and enjoy jc penny's and shop there often however, they have a real problem with staffing cash registers. Throughout the store they have several areas set aside as cashier areas but most are closed or never maned. If it were me I'd make it real easy and convenient for customers to spend money with me. I truly hope jcpenney makes it am just trying to offer feedback for improvement.

Really appreciated the helpful staff that helped me locate 2 cago pants in my size. No one else carries cargo pants anymore. No one else has had any pants (or even brand name jeans) in my size. Got a great deal, essentially got 2 for the price of 1.

Fun Place shop at but clearance items never marked when I look and clearance items don't seem likes good price like other stores..Sephora department Amanda and rachel rock...but I wish they could bring back the Sephora products and color chosing help..how are gals suppose to be supportive if can't try on the consumer...they want to help but can't....that clothes are short in sizes and makes me mad but I'm at least happy they there so we can shop...I enjoy the experience overall and thank employees.

I have been going to this JCPenney since I was a kid because of their good deals, and great clothes. No big deal. BUT NOW I SING THEIR PRAISES. My husband is active duty Air Force and has been deployed to an undisclosed location. They have nothing where they are. They all had to bring a pillow and they have the most basic of basic mattress on the floor to sleep on. (You know how it is, if you go on a weekend trip and bring the "wrong" pillow from home... try sleeping on it for months and in a 0 star hotel) So when I asked my husband what else they could REALLY use, he said mattress pads and pillows. So I told my mom in case we come across deals anywhere to have an extra set of eyes. My mom used to work at Pennies and asked for a manager so she could have box of pillows shipped to them (she is the best military mom ever!) Well they didn't just help my mom, they helped my husband's whole squadron. My husband misses me and our 2 kids more than ever, and he isn't the only one over there feeling that way. His whole team is sleeping a little bit better because of THIS JCPenney. And to top it off, they looked at my moms list and took the whole thing seriously. They went out and got laundry pods, tons of hygienic products and snacks to boot. Please support this store. They not only supported my mom, my husband, but they supported your country; and they did it without hesitation my mom said, and with all the heart and passion possible. It literally brings tears to my eyes, that my husband can seriously sleep better at night with all the work he has to do, and all the meanwhile, missing us so much! Thank You Sioux Falls JCPenney!

Ity seems lately, the trips to JCP have been disappointing. The departments are soooo crowded you can barely move. It is messy in the women's dept, could not walk straight through as there was so much on the floor. Seems like no one showed up for work that day. Today, however; we went to the men's dept to find a dress shirt and tie to go w/ my son's suit for a dance this weekend. Although it took a while to find what we wanted, (really crowded), but once we did and headed for the fitting room. Terry F. measured my son and helped guide us in the right direction for sizing. He took all the pins, tissue and cardboard out of the shirts so we didn't have to fuss with it. Pointed us in the direction of a full mirror and reminded us of the sales. Terry, THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR HELP!!!!. Because of the sales, my son got 2 shirts and 2 ties for about the price of one shirt!! The cashier in that area was really backed up, so we went across the store to another one. Cheryl was helpful and patient. She told me of the additional savings if I used my JCP card. I didn't have it with me and she tried to pull it up, but evidently had not used it enough. So she offered to open me a new one and told me of even more savings. Although the line was forming in her area as well, she stayed calm and focused. So helpful Cheryl. Thank You!!!! Today was the best trip to JCP that I have had in a very long time. Glad I decided to stop in today!!

It's Penney's...nothing particularly good, nothing particularly bad. The definition of average, middle-class department store...a Kohl's with appliances and Sephora. Decor, displays, and lack of designer labels makes Penney's an indisputable second-tier mall retailer compared to Macy's, Nordstrom, and Dillard's. Compared to nearly defunct Sears, Penny's has managed to stay current with updated merchandise selection, retail trends, and customer needs.
