Reviews of Ye Olde Curiosity Shop
Cailan Shannon
Have you ever had that friend who you didn't know what kind of gift to get them? Well this is the place for you. So many eclectic, artistic, unique gift ideas that you will be set no matter the occasion. Be sure to bring quarters and check out all of the cool old music players, fortune tellers, and looking boxes!! And if you think you've seen it all, just look up!!!
Mandy Reynolds
Fun shop with all kinds of odd things. Definitely worth the stop. I went on a Sunday morning when there was less traffic downtown. We tried to go Saturday but were overwhelmed by the traffic. There is a parking lot across Alaskan Way that is $12 plus tax for an hour but it is very convenient.

This place is so cool it's like a mini Ripley's museum! I came here as a kid and I've been excited to come back ever since. Still the same curiosities I remember with some new additions! The only downside was the store was cluttered with boxes of I'm guessing inventory that were blocking a lot of the attractions. The cafe was also closed and looked like it has been for a while by the buildup of boxes in that area. Still absolutely worth a visit - the best place to pick up your Seattle souvenirs and support this great venture!!
Lutao L
The most unique shop that we have ever been to. It almost feel like we went to a store in Harry Potter lol. They have the most weird but also eye-opening things including taxidermy, mysterious ancient sculptures and foreign stuff. Some things can be scary but it’s definitely worth a visit!!! The jumping beans blew my mind lol. It’s like a magic museum!
Honesty IS the Key!
Must see when visiting Seattle. I’ve been coming here for many years & bringing both my grown kids now. It never gets old. It’s an interesting shop with so many cool things.
Sarah Alexander
Great spot to find souvenirs from Seattle! You know you’ll be paying a premium for the stuff here. It is an interesting collection of cool and odd stuff all around!
Ice Qu
Ye Olde Touriste Trappe and Funhouse, more likely! Love this place, love oggling the oddities, perusing the peculiarities and eventually just buying the usual postcards because I have been here so many times already. It is practically an institution and almost a must-visit when you do the touristy waterfront walk. Any time you go, you'll find something to bring home for yourself or others, and in doing so you'll be reminded of this funky place and the freaky times you've had here. Be sure to hang out and watch the sunset in the area if you can also!
Tanner Sousley
Great olden-days vibe! Seeing the knick-knacks and the strange curiosities is something that you're not likely to find anywhere else.
At the same time, as a genetic genealogist, I think it is interesting that literal corpses are on display. Interesting in a non-judgmental way, if course. I would love to offer the genetic break down of these individuals and locate living descendants of them as well through recent whole genome sequencing. If this is something that the owners would be comfortable doing, we wouldn't need anymore than just hair. Just reach out if you're interested. I have a whole team ready to go :)
Tad Bixby
Weird? Check. Historic? Check. Skeletons, dinosaur fossils, bizarre taxidermy, shrunken heads and more? Check. And I love it!
So many narwhal tusks, whale bones, saw fish snouts and oddities floating in jars, your neck will tire from looking up, but make sure not to trip.
Personal favorite oddity: the vampire extermination kit (apparently containing everything you need) featuring large hammer, wooden stake, silver crucifix, Bible and holy water, all in an attractive carrying case.
Adam Cook
If you have kids this is a definite stop on the waterfront. Lots of cool stuff to see and cool toys / collectibles to buy. They have a one arm bandit in there, literally. Their original safe date backs to the early 1900's and they still use it today. Now that's cool.
DB L
Yes it is kitschy but also so fun! Take a few minutes to read the placards for some macabre interesting history on shrunken heads, bodies preserved with arsenic and two-headed calf! There is also fun shopping but it can get pricey quick!
Alice Muga
Just happen to stop by this curiosity shop. It was very interesting and fun to explore.
Lord Jupiter
Amazing that this place has been here since 1899! Such a cool place.
Genee Gibson
Cute little shop with an eclectic array of items from jewelry to preserved bugs. Felt crowded to me and was difficult to pass other shoppers in the small confines. I found most items to be priced much higher than I would have expected. One of the butterfly necklaces was priced around $500 and that was more than I was willing to pay.
Allegro Ashford
This place is part museum and part shop. They really do have the classic curiosity shop things like shrunken heads, bizarre taxidermy, and even mummies in the shop. But the shop overall is a fantastic place to buy novelty gifts or souvenirs of Seattle. Definitely a fun place to go if you happen to be downtown.
Morgan
I wish I had known the shop we were going into when we stopped here. It is a must go in Seattle. I only got a few pictures of the shrunken heads and mummified family. A lot of tourist gifts and history. Such a fun shop.
Abdullah Syed
This place is obviously a Seattle staple. With the new waterfront it's a must visit for visitors and a great spot for families for locals on a day trip. The place doesn't charge to get in when they totally could. Awesome spot
annabell carlson
Always love looking around here and it's reasonably priced for a tourist attraction. Every time I spend waiting for the ferry time there usually buying some quirky thing!
Neal James
This is the most unique shop I've been to tons of interesting things to see the real mummies and shrunken heads were creepy but they have chief Seattle's hat which was neat. Will go again when I'm back and Im bringing friends to see it.
Sarah Uys
This place was kinda exactly what I expected, it's a tourist trap filled with random ebay stuff at inflated prices. I can't even be mad about it because I know that they are just supplying the demand. They did have some real shrunken heads, some real mummies and a few insects and bones. The vintage automaton type machines were probably the coolest part. The peepshow and the laughing doll were a riot.
KMHill28
Ye Olde Curiosity Shop, it's definitely is a place to stop in and visit while you're in Seattle downtown area. They have a bunch of cool interesting little knick-knacks and lots of old stuff you can look at and try out. One could spend a couple hours just looking around at everything. Careful not to knock anything over, it is a tight fit in some spots. Pricing is very reasonable and it's on Pier 54 at the docks close to the aquarium, it is tucked away in the back side of the building so be careful not to miss it.
Sarah Coning
Classic place to visit. Mummies, old player piano, fun things to see.
Eduardo & Jocelyn
Weird but COOL store! There were endless things to see. It was like a museum but with art/cool things you could buy. Some of our favorites were looking at the 2 headed pig or the 4 legged chicken. Will come back when we're back in town!
El Wong
Definitely a fun touristy place to visit, this shop has a lot of random cool things no one needs but can sometimes be genius (or downright weird). It is a regular store for random... goods..., and just has a collection of other interesting things to admire and look at while you’re shopping. The average price for things is definitely higher since it’s a tourist attraction, but it’s an amusing place to visit and check out if you want something new.
Some of their merch includes bacon socks, edible larvae, ‘belt buckle’ keychains (one of my favourites), hologram glasses that make your eyes look weird to people looking at you... it’s a fun place to check out even if you don’t buy anything.
Natalie Kruzz
I've always loved going to the Ye Olde Curiosity Shop. Love the new layout. Gives Sylvester and Sylvia (the mummies) a larger display case complete with detailed descriptions. They also added three penny pressers, each with three designs. I was disappointed when the design was way off, but when I asked for a cash refund the cashier couldn't be nicer. Also love the beautiful totem poles.
Bird Fleck
I have always loved coming here! They always have cool things to look at and the prices are reasonable! Their location changed from when I 1st started coming to the piers 25 years ago.
Garrett G
My daughter and her friend had more fun looking at all the unique curiosities here than they did at the great wheel and Seattle aquarium combined. Fun store that is a staple for any traveler to come and see. Always super friendly staff as well.
Dakota Brown
Place is full of fun oddities. Definitely a great place to stop and poke around. Who knows what you will find!
Jeroen (Yaron) Poppers
What a crazy, funny, interesting, amazing cool place to visit. If you need a souvenir or interesting gift or just want to be amazed by their not for sale collection, you just have to visit the place!
Jennifer Reames
I wouldnt have gone unless a friend insisted I visit while in the area. I am so glad I did! THOUSANDS of wild unique and bizarre things. DEFINITELY worth the trip to see!
Nicholas Pun
Fun place to find some great souvenirs!
Nida Khawaja
Great place to get souvenirs and random objects that you would not really see in other places. They have all types of different rocks, seashells, necklaces made with real butterfly wings, tshirts, magnets and much more. Staff was friendly except for the lady serving the fudge. It said that they give free samples for testing and she looked annoyed about having to give out free samples. I felt uncomfortable trying anymore and decided not to purchase any. Other than that, great place to check out.
Jan Smith
An absolute 5 star if you are anywhere near the waterfront area. So many crazy things to see. Kids will love it too. Like an interactive museum, where you can buy stuff. Be sure to put a quarter in the one armed bandit!
Matthew P
Really cool place to shop. There is something for everyone here and lots of display pieces scattered around the store. Definitely a stop you need to make if in Seattle!!
Sage Smith
Not so much a curiosity shop as a trinket store. I did get some viper knockoffs though so neat. They also randomly sell Harry Potter wands if you are into that.
John Bratcher
Very unique historical pieces. Plenty of gifts, if you're interested. Been around since the 1800s. Worth checking out
Mike Radcliffe
Very cool stuff to see and experience in Seattle.
Dale Corner
Its a great place, interesting souvenirs, staff is great and you can visit this place 1000 times and still find something new in it you never have seen before. The old auto player air organ outside is absolutely loud!
Melissa McFadden
Fun tourist attraction and gift shop for all ages. Mummies, shrunken heads, double headed taxidermy, etc. We love the uniqueness of this shop and all the fun items you can find here.
Krista Wiech
Quite the interesting place! Definitely worth checking out. Has everything you could imagine and things you have never even knew existed! Staff was friendly and very helpful with our questions. Would totally recommend.
Austin Harris
Didn't think I could get a shrunken head and preserved shark in a jar all in one place! Great staff and an overall incredible place. Must see for tourists and locals. Thank you for the spooky experience!
Kira Spraggins
Only a few museum type things to see. Mostly a shop with silly or artsy things to purchase. Ice cream is closed. Worth it if you're on the pier already.
Daniela Galidor
Loved all the museum-like objects, from the real mummies, to shrunken heads and strange decorations on the roof. Would've liked it to be bigger, since a lot of people were inside and I found it difficult to walk around. They have wonderful fudge, my favorite was chocolate. Visit this place, it's a good souvenir shop!
Nikk Spiert
Super cool place on the pier! Staff was very fun and helpful!
Definitely a place worth visiting 2000miles from home, put it on your itinerary!
Mike P
I have been visiting this shop since I was a little kid. I love how hardly anything has changed in all the years it's been here. So many cool things to see. And I'm so glad that the family that owns the shop has passed down the torch through the generations. Thank you so much for being awesome!
Emma Swanson
Super cool shop filled with some touristy stuff mixed with some really cool finds. Not to mention all the crazy stuff they have in cabinets and hanging from the ceilings. Make sure you take the time to look up and around everywhere. I feel like I see something new every time I go
Maya Jones
Many interesting and strange items to explore. A Seattle classic.
Paul Baughman
Fun shop, lots to see but it's packed in tight so take your time or you'll miss some cool stuff. Ye Olde Curiosity Shop has been an icon on the Seattle waterfront for decades and is not to be missed.
laura cook
This should definitely be considered apart of the Pike Place Market because this place is one of a kind with weird things, Seattle things and of course locally made things. For fathers day I got my father in law a surprise box that was gift wrapped and had a clue on it saying head to toe. I am thinking socks and a hat, but no it was socks that fit and a scrunchie. He is bald so this was a good laugh. Luckily I am not bald so he offered them to me. Our son got a gum emoji shooter and when it runs out of gum I will get some from the dollar store. One of the weird things they have here is a rabbits foot. If you love lucky things or need lucky things I would say this would work. Once upon a time they also sold fudge here, so maybe they will again since they still have the area for it.
Aidan Sivits
Actually very cool.Had lots of odd little things that were quite a blast to check out.I only give it a 4 out of 5 just because I wish there would be less shop stuff and more of the weird stuff.
Alexandra France
I've lived in the greater Seattle area throughout my childhood and have recently moved back. This week some friends from out of town came to visit and I took them all over downtown, to the market, to the space needle, to the glass museum, and they spent the most time and seemed the most thrilled by the Ye Olde Curiosity Shop. They enjoyed the 1930s smut, the various and unique art pieces, the mummies, shrunken heads, and taxidermy, as well as purchased a good haul of items. I really enjoyed sharing this treasure trove, and I hope everyone stops by for a visit bc I consider this the only souvenir store worth while.
Craig Arnush
The name of this place says it all. It's a well-known location for finding strange knick-knacks and oddments in addition to the standard tourist fare.
Be sure to keep on the lookout for the mummified bodies.
Grendl Xavier
I've been coming to here with my family since the 60s. Generation after generation of wonder and fascination. We know Sylvester's story now thanks to science and I was a little disappointed that the proprietors have not updated the display, but perhaps their choice is the right one for the store; they've always kept us in thrall.
Jason H
I wish they stayed with the odd and bizarre. Some of the things in there are extremely interesting, yet somethings are gimmicky tourist gifts. Take the time to search for the right gift in here. The logo from the poster is awesome, just doesn’t transfer well to their shirts.
Brian Helmbreck
They've got some pretty cool stuff! The mummies were especially interesting
Brian Wilcox
Great place to stop if you looking for small souvenirs or intricate quality curiosity finds. The staff are completely aware of the kinder problems (lots of questions, sticky hands, play with all the things) and embrace it. Bought the trip's best pieces at the shop and Pike's Market.
kayla bee
I LOVE THE YE OLDE CURIOSITY SHOP! Seriously, this place is a seattle staple, you can really use up time going through all the fun things they have.
Lucas Barbosa
Be there with your kids, even if you dont shop there is a lot of interesting stuff. Touristic place add a little bit of extra cash upon prices.
Renica Probart
This shop has lots of interesting and fun stuff, as well as free delicious fudge samples!
Katherine Howett
Some tourist traps are worth the visit! Fun little store with an odd mix of merchandise and mini museum exhibits. There are a few nice things to buy and some fun things to look at. Always fun to stop by!
Hannah Guy
Super cool place!! I thought it was super cool that it's a museum and a novelty shop!! It was super fun and family friendly! There is definitely something for everyone! They have unusual candy's, toys, jewelry, and lots more!! It's a super cool place that has been there for more then a hundred and I definitely recommend visiting!!!
Liam McDonald
We visited from Canada and stopped in, it’s a really cool place with incredibly kind and cool staff. Highly recommend :)
Ruth Rosas
Awesome souvenir shop, ma must stop for all kinds of goodies!! Also ck out The Sound!!
Shemyiah Heimes
We absolutely love this shop!!! It is amazing!!! My 10 year old son was amazed...
Quinn B
Very fun stop! Lots of creepy cool things on display and for sale.
Adam Poss
This was one of the coolest stores i've ever been to! I could have spent all day here. So many unique and rare items that you will not find elsewhere. I really enjoyed it! Paperback journals, collectibles, mummies, etc.
Quang Cao
Good place to hang out. This place is much more for tourist. Cool selection though.
Evgenia Pogorelova
My boyfriend and I just love this store and every time we are on Seattle we are going there to browse and always able to find something new and interesting. We can spend there hours. Cool place to find unique gifts and have fun :)
Christine M
It was a little busy/crowded, but not in a bad way! Lots of cool things to look at and plenty of cute souvenirs to remember the visit. Fun even for a local.
Brittany Walls
This place was so much fun just to walk through and look at had a few interactive things like a fortune teller, slides, piano. A lot of unique things to look at and purchase
Steam Towers
Cute store. Has some great oddities to see, and some great oddities to buy! The mummies were really cool, and they have some really taxidermy pieces. I fell in love with the two headed duck on a skateboard...but it did not come home with me. A great place to visit!
Anita Brighton
Never disappoints! Where else can you buy edible bugs, gag gifts, oddball treasures, preserved shark fetus in a jar, jewelry and thousands of unique items? The place is a little crowded for comfort, especially during COVID times.
Delores Love
I absolutely love this shop!!! Not only is there a variety of awesome little knick-knacks and mementos, but it also has some super creepy (but extremely Cool) ancient historical art displays! The mummy is a must see!!!
anup pandey (anupmessenger)
Real mermaid! Yup! Hanging up on top is a real mermaid caught 100 years ago! Also authentic on site made Native American Todems and jewelry with real gem-stones
Kent Lewis
Great gift shop with historic museum quality displays and local artifacts.
Cameron Adler
It’s more of a touristy shop than it is a curiosity museum. Not as cool as I hoped.
Angela Lard
Such a fun store! All kinds of unusual gifts and momentos. Highly recommend if you're down on the waterfront and just want to shop the unusual.
Mike Franco
Absolutely love this place. I could get lost in here for hours checking out all the amazing items.
Whenever I am down at the waterfront...it is a must to go in and see what treasure I can take home.
Courtney Bouchard
Awesome shop, with so much to look at. Make sure to look up too, or you'll definitely miss some cool history above. We will be back in the future.
Julie McLeod
Very cool, both in terms of free curiosities to view (assorted two headed taxidermy and a couple actual mummified human bodies, etc) and the size and variety of the gift shop itself. Good place for souvenirs, especially if you're a bit quirky. If you walk around the outside of the back of the building, it's very quiet and secluded from the tourist craziness and has a great view of the water as well.
If this information was helpful, I'd appreciate a quick like. Thank you!
Patty Alba
This place was FUN!! EVERYTHING u can think of is in the shop! Need a street sign with Jr's name on it or a t - shirt for Grandpa, how bout Space Needle key chains for your co workers? Well, they're all there. If your hungry, go next door for fried oysters!
Stacy Lee Ferguson
Part novelty souvenir store, part museum. A fun place, and don't forget to look up!
Donnie Gray
It seemed alright enough. Some cute odds and ends. Good selection of stones if you're into that. Some neat jewelry. Otherwise it's mostly weird stuff you'll buy someone else because it's weird and you think they'll like it; they'll chuckle politely and tell you they love it or that it's awesome, but then throw it away at the earliest convenience.
This is more fun as a spot to window shop than to actually purchase anything.
The staff were very polite and patient.
Sergei Stepanov
I haven't seen such cool shop before. It is a museum at same time:)
Christopher Plymail
It's a really awesome place. You'll find a lot of obscure things here, and it's right on the bay. It's a little tight as far as space goes as a stroller won't maneuver easily. I really liked sharks and mummified bodies. I recommend this to anyone wanting to find things you wouldn't see at a normal store.
M Aboud
Very cool place, awesome stuff to see A lot of extraordinary thing to see.
KerinMzR
Have to come here, every visit!there is always something new to see!
Julie Frame
A true Seattle institution. Classic and creepy, a mix of Seattle souvenirs, old-timey slot machines and sideshow relics preserved for your viewing pleasure. Sylvester the Mummy, a two headed calf, and the Medical Ed head all staring back at us from behind plexiglass. The place is beautifully positioned on the pier 54. It moved just one storefront closer to the water in January 2016. As I have visited this shop in its various locations over the years, each time I have gotten a strange sense that it may be slightly haunted. This time was no exception. I put a quarter in the Jolly Jack machine. The sailor hat-wearing, cigarette-dangling, rosy-cheeked mannequin (with a fly on its nose) cackled the ENTIRE duration of our 30-minute visit!
Laura Lewis
This place is so cool. I loved looking around at everything.
Jana Taylor
Worth a look, lots of fun stuff, and fun things to see! If your down in the area, go stop in!
Holly Roberts
If you haven't been here, you need to go! Absolutely one of our favorite places to visit in Seattle. You will be looking around in this shop for a LONG time! Interesting and different.
Michelle Agbigay
Excellent place for curious people. You'll find things you don't normally see in stores. Loved it!!
Hope Williams
Very cool spot in a very cool location!! Amazing variety of curiosities
Wm “Ben” Chitwood
Such a bizarre shop, full of strange curiosities. This is a staple of Seattle's delightful strangeness.
Katrina Gentry
This place is so cool! So many fun things to look at. All the typical souvenirs plus a ton more! Make sure to take your time looking around.
oldschoolcivic
Weird store with souvenirs and trinkets. The main attraction is the collection of antiques and taxidermy on display. Definite not what I was expecting but worth stopping by for 15 minutes.
Alissa Munoz
Super cute little shop, and the employees seemed more than happy to tell me the stories behind some of the artifacts. I bought the cutest little 2 headed duckling on a SKATEBOARD! It's hands down the best taxidermy I own. I would recommend stopping by this place if you're visiting
Ben Hardy
So many wierd and wonderful things to look at. Much more than your average souvenir shop.
Matthew Fortnum
Super interesting spot to check out. Almost like a free miniature museum and gift shop roller into one!
A B
Best shop on the pier! Not your typical souvenir shop. We had so much fun looking at the oddities in display cases that we had to go back through to look at the inventory! Also, the three gentleman working were courteous and helpful. 10/10 recommend!
Carter Gray
Great store with all kinds of weird stuff. If you are walking the Seattle pier waterfront you should definitely check this place out.
Dhamotharan
Nice shop to visit. Has large collection of souvenirs.
Spidey __
This place was odd and weird, but in the best ways possible! Definitely worth stopping in to see the mummies, the shrunken heads, and the two-headed pig! Picked up some great unique souvenirs!
Lindsi Holmstead
There are some amazing things and funny novelties! I liked the carved grains of rice and oil painting on a pinhead under magnifying glasses.
Chelsea Brown
My favorite shop in Seattle. Lots of obscure products and very affordable pieces. I got a necklace made of butterfly wings, a hoodie, a crocodile head, candy, and fortune telling fish for just over $100.
Kai V
Weird and wonderful. A bit hard to walk around with the crowd inside.
Tsenu Mamo
It has some interesting curiosity items. It was free, so not bad.
Bonnie Campbell
This store is also a museum. They have unique items for sale like framed butterflies as well as your typical souvenirs. Worth checking out if you are in the area
Jason Champagne
This place lived up to its name. It was quaint and unique. We were hehe on our honeymoon and bought a few gifts before leaving
Scott Fulton
Just a fun place browse and see cool things
Karrar Al-Bahathly
Some very unique stuff and was a very nice atmosphere! RECOMMENDED
QueenOMommy HamsterFreedom
Interesting museum atmosphere. The staff was friendly and helpful. The fudge are amazing!
Corey Sutch
Came here by chance fleeing the rain when I came off the ferry, and glad I did. Quirky spot which is part museum, part store, with friendly staff.
There’s loads here, but the replica shrunken heads make for a great takeaway after visiting, it’ll make for an interesting bookshelf item when I get back home!
Ed Ashford
This place is the beat! So many interesting things crammed into one shop! I especially love grabbing a mystery box from them every now and then. They make fun ones!
Bethany Webb
Fun store to go in and see all of the interesting items. Just don't go on a holiday weekend as there's barely room to move in the store without the crowds so when it's crowded it's nearly impossible. And if your in a wheelchair or use a walker this store is not for you. There's just no room to navigate.
Hope Lee Seegmiller
Fun stuff, but SUPER HOT! Was literally sweating and it made looking around less fun. Cracking a window or fans would have been greatly appreciated.
Florence Njeri
For the curious wandering minds, this is the place for you. They have the Lord’s Prayer written on a grain of rice.
Wesley McDermid
This place is just wonderful! The shrunken head display near the back was probably my favorite part, but there is just so much to see here. It's located along the boardwalk, I was only in town for a day and I'm glad I stumbled upon this shop. If you have the chance, definitely check it out!
Stephen Larsen
This place is too fun. A lot of weird stuff. Super mystical energy here. Great place to reinvigorate your imagination. Really cool knick knacks too.
Jim Cantwell
This is a great place to get souvenirs from. It is a souvenir shop and a museum with some of the strangest things. ....like real mummys, real shrunken heads and other curiosities from far away places.
Juan Campos
Cool and strange items.
Next you are there take a picture with Mr cowboy. Are you up for the challenge?
Barely Alive
Ye Olde Curiosity Shop has been a regular stop on my visits to the waterfront since my father brought me here as a child. I now regularly bring friends and loved ones to experience the unique shop.
Bring quarters there are so many fun interactive experiences to be had for just a quarter. Take your time as every visit you will discover something you've never noticed before.
Russell Nagle
It was a fun place to walk through. They have lots to look at on the walls. I didn't end up buying anything, but if I was in Seattle again I'd check it out again
Audrey Jones
This place is pretty cool. The staff is very friendly and the things that you find and see are interesting enough to keep you occupied into the store for some time. The corpse in the glass case in the back of the store is a sight to see. My son and I popped in while waiting on the ferry. I got a new sticker for my flask and he bought some earrings and fidget spinner that's pretty cool. Stop in you won't be disappointed.
Inez Nyland
What a fun place, the Lego display was very impressive.
Brian Vo
Funky, weird, cheap if you don't buy anything. But you probably should.
Samantha Olson
So much fun stuff here! And it's along the water for a nice relaxing stroll.
Zach Grasley
What a fun and quirky little shop! Definitely a lot of locally made curiosities. Plenty of Chinese made merchandise if that’s what you are looking for, but a lot of unique items here that you can find for those destined to explore their curiosities!
Also, in today’s world, they are doing great at limiting access during Covid.
Angela P
It's ye old curiosity shop. It carries a lot of common gift items you could find in other giftshops or stores, but it has a few quirky items that make it worth stopping by. The little muesum in the back is fun and interesting. Otherwise it's just a fancied up gift shop.
Jennifer Rae Fuchek
What an amazing place!
I visited at suggestion of my husband who remembered this place from his younger years... I wasn't disappointed! I only wish I had more time to explore!
Seeing the real shrunken heads, mummified bodies, and other eclectic mix of trinkets and oddities... Simply amazing!
I highly recommend anyone in Seattle area go visit this place... Give yourself plenty of time and don't rush though as there's lots to see!
If you do choose to buy something prices are very reasonable too. Employee was quite friendly & helpful as well. They're located by the big observation wheel at the docks now (in case you look for it at their old location).
Parking was difficult (but it's Seattle at the waterfront what do you expect).
Mrs. Dino
This store wasn't exactly what I thought it would be, as it did have a lot of chain store souvenirs, but there were some unique finds and cool oddities to check out. They have a few player pianos, mummy case, miniature set, odd animals (4 legged chicken), and a vampire hunter kit. The staff were friendly and they have the most amazing green tea fudge located in the back left corner of the shop. I really liked the location and the gifts that had the stores logo on them. All in all a neat place to check out of you are spending a day at the boardwalk.
Vivian K
A staple of the waterfront- fun store for tourists and locals. Highlights include art from many indigenous groups, interesting artifacts, odd creatures, and plenty of souvenirs
Brian Lahti
I loved going here! It has a fair sprinkling of neat remembrance gifts that have s twist of odd about them. Like a Spock mug that is a 3d representation of his head. Also there was a good amount of "curious" things around the shop as well as parts of various dead animals too. Pretty cool!
Mark Sension
An interesting place to visit. It has history, and that's why we went. Lots of what is affordable and on sale is kitschy, and the interesting stuff is either not for sale, or very expensive, but it's all worthy of at least a short visit. The staff is friendly and helpful.
jo alexander
Less of a curiosity shop and more of a tourist shop. They carry a bunch of items that you would find on thinkgeek and hot topic and some random candy. The curiosity portions line the walls, but the center of the store which is the majority of the store seems to be for mainstream/mass produced weird or semi-unique items.
They are for some reason selling small umbrellas for $30 at the front of the store. They sell keychains that light up with your name on it, mints that have a picture of einstein on it, a lightup starship enterprise mini, shirts and hats.
Kimberly Giger
Cute place to stop. Got a couple gifts and saw some cool stuff.
Deborah DeTray
Fell in love with this place, it could take hours to see it all
Jim Absher
Part souvenir shop - part freak show. Tired of the usual tshirts and shot glasses for souvenirs? This place has pickle flavored chewing gum, sasquatch socks and a real mummy! Fun addition to any trip for any age.
Justin Watts
Always loved Ye Olde Cutiosity Shoppe when I was a kid, now my kid loves it too. Great service by the cashiers, super friendly and helpful. Very good prices considering how expensive everything else in Seattle is.
Kindra Sierra
Some of the coolest stuff around can be found at this location. A lot better priced than a similar store further down from ferry. I love to pop in from time to time. I get gifts for everyone in the family here.
Ebony Robinson
This place was amazing! I felt like I was in a museum but it was a shop. We had a good time here, we even brought home some cool niknaks for ourselves.
Josh Wallace
The place is awesome and the staff is great. Bring a lot of coins, including some dimes, to really enjoy all this place has to offer.
Anthony ANDERS
Wonders from around the world. Check out these shadow boxes.
alex stutz
I love this place we go here at least once a year. It's something I look forward to and enjoy going there! I live to look at all the creepy stuff you have the bugs and funny gifts.
Mayra Marin
Interesting place. Get your Seattle souvenirs and learn a few things along the way; gives museum mixed with antique-y store vibes. Larger than I thought when I first got there. Definitely enjoyed my time there.
Chi Hoang (Chi Chi)
If you looking something out of the ordinary for souvenirs, this is the place to go. They have lots of weird things like, rocks, coins, fun toys, postcards, and the list can go on. Plus on the pier and close to other attractions nearby. Went here for a quick shopping while waiting for our cruise line. I like how this place have some nice artifacts and something you can never find at regular shop. If you have time, check it out.
Me
I love this place. Locals and tourists alike venture inside. It is a store with crazy artifacts inside to view. I took my kids here a lot when they were growing up as we walked the Seattle waterfront and always purchased some trinket when we left. You won't be disappointed.
TheTOXICxAvenger
Not much of an oddity shop.
Has a few bizarre and unique items for sale, but it's mostly a tourist shop. The woman working was very sweet and welcoming, and my fiancé and I had a good time looking at everything
Anne Abbott, NBCT
I liked it better before it turned big-boxy. It has more trendy, easily-available items than ones that feel like Seattle or old-fashioned waterfront store goods now. The curiosity items aren't spread out, and the focus is far off of them and more on commerce, which makes it strange that there don't seem to be enough employees to help everyone. It gets four stars instead of three, though, because it's still my daughter's favorite, and it sells fudge and tons of quirky earrings.
Spag mon
This has been a place I always visit when I stop by Seattle since I was a very small kid. It's a great place. Been there since 1899? Not surprised. I always visit Sylvester and now his girlfriend Sylvia(?) I don't know her name.
Jeff McGraw
I've loved this place since I was a kid! If you are visiting the Seattle waterfront or Pike Place with kids and you want to do some vintage Seattle stuff you should venture in to the Ye Olde Curiosity Shop. It's a classic piece of Seattle's historic waterfront fabric... featuring mysterious mermen mummies, pickled laboratory creatures, local artists and fun trinkets of all kinds. Family owned for generations. Close to the Wheel, the Seattle Sourdough Bakery, Ivar's and other waterfront staples. Recommended
Amber Kolb
This place was fantastically weird! Although it was crowded, the store had a good flow to keep people from bumping into each other or getting stuck in corners or niches. I'd honestly steer clear of bringing small kids in here though as there are tons of breakable items just out on display shelving within reach of small kids. They have really good fudge here too and neat items to look at. This place really is 2/3 store and 1/3 museum!
Joseph Lewis Valdes
It was like walking thru a museum, a small and cramped but still somehow organized. Awesome place to find treasures.
A bit pricey, but some stuff there you're not going to find somewhere else.
Sra Estela Cantu
Kind and welcoming.... nice small gifts to. Kid friendly and cashier was super nice. Mask were required, he gave me one to wear, no cost.
Sonny Subido
Love this place. Can always find a nice gift for out of town guests. Unique and macabre
Madalynne Baker
Great place to visit when you're in Seattle! Came in to look and get squished pennies, and the checker was very friendly and helpful when asking for squished penny supplies. Didn't get all of them, so will have to stop by again!
Scott P
Interesting place filled to the rafters with an amazing variety of trinkets, t shirts, puzzles, jewelry, toys, antiques, amusements. Prices seem very reasonable for the most part with a few outlandish exceptions on some of the collectible stuff. A great place to pick up a cheap souvenir that is actually cheap.
Max Makhnyk
This place is very unique! It's basically a musuem where you can buy things. Some of the items are very strange such as the mummy in this image. But they come with stories that are very captivating and interesting. Lots of little strange souvenirs. It is a small place and can get crowded easily, but it's free to enter this museum/store.
James C
Cool little trinket shop and oddities display.
Matthew Gravelyn
Love taking my family to this Seattle institution. The weird and interesting exhibits are a free activity for families of all ages and there’s surely some trinket or toy for everyone in the gift shop. The fudge there is also delicious. Highly recommend a stop in if you’re on the pier.
Diego Torres
If you are a tourist visiting Seattle this is a place you should check out. It gets pretty crowded on the weekends. This place has been around a very long time. They have a lot of oddities to look at as well as unique and gift shop knickknacks for purchase. There is also some great Native American art and totems for sale. An interesting place for kids too.
Nichole Crowley
Very cool and curious finds indeed, fun for a quick pop in!
Jase Sauter
Absolutely love this store, whether you are native so Seattle/Washington or just in town on vacation, it's always fun going and visiting this shop. Not too mention a great view of Seattle's waterfront, which where this shop is located down off on one of the piers!!
Joe Rogers
A Seattle institution!
Great little novelty shop were you can buy all sorts of weird things. Also a museum were you can see all sorts of weird things. The highlights include mummies, a two-handed calf, the Fiji mermaid, and other curiosities of the world. A must see for people visiting the Seattle waterfront.
Maegan Jack
So many cool little things to see. Prices aren't too bad either. Definitely a great place to check out if you're ever in the area. Bought some ethically made butterfly wing earrings and they're awesome!
Billy Bowling
A very quaint and quirky shop that has A lot of neat stuff to look at and buy
Evan Love
There is something for everyone at this shop. Unusual can be used to describe everything. There are a couple of displays that touch on Seattle's history. Beware of the genetically modified taxonomy in the front right case.
The Krampus
I've always loved this place since my very first trip to Seattle 25 years ago! The oddities on display, the quirky decor and the fun souvenirs and trinkets make Ye Olde Curiosity Shop a *must visit* for any walk along Seattle's waterfront!
William Miglino
Such a fun spot. I tend to bring my niece and nephew here when I get them in the city. This place is a classic variety shop and a Seattle staple. Check out their real mummies and shrunken heads! Also, try their chocolate, it's quite delicious!
Dirk
119 year anniversary this year. Family owned and operated. I got to speak with the owner who's grandfather first opened the place. What an amazing history. Probably one of the most interesting stores in Seattle. Fun things to see and purchase. There's also an amazing one man band organ outside that sounds amazing. Definitely worth a visit.
Patrick Wajda
Make time for the walk-through.Well worth the time. Its got some creepy and fun stuff
Artifacts are real, jewelry is unique, toys and adult collections
Christine Harmon
A trip to Seattle isn't complete with a visit to the Ye Olde Curiosity Shoppe.
Johnell Halt
We had some time to spend b-4 our Harbour cruise. We decided to do a little tourist shopping. This store had alot of interesting things. Not your run of the mill shirt shop or coffee mug place. I wish we would have had alot more time. Love this shop. Make sure you have plenty of time to visit!
Carol Brown
I have loved this shop for well over 50 years. As far as I'm concerned, this should be visited at least once, right up there with Pike Place Market. 😉 …
Kimberly Lanske
Very friendly store, lots of interesting items.
kaycee moore
Aside from having the same generic souvenirs that you can get anywhere on the waterfront they also have all types of interesting gifts and things to collect. Even if you’re not looking for gifts it’s cool to go in just to look at all of the oddities that they have. They have everything from shrunken heads, mummies, framed bugs, and bat skeletons. There is also a little counter in the corner where you can buy fudge, they have all different flavors and types but I personally think it’s a little too sweet.
Tobey 055
It's a nick nackshop, but also a mini museum. Remi ds me of a Ripley's Believe it or not museum. Shrunken heads and mummies!
Gavin Andrus
Are you filled with curiosity? Do you like old things? Do you love toys? Do you also have a sweet tooth? Then Ye Olde Curiosity Shop is the place for you! But really this place is for anyone, there is something for everyone here. It is amazing to see the crazy things in store for you at this shop!
Emmi Kat Johnson (Emmi Kat)
Love this place! There's lots to look at in a museum-y setting for free. They have an ample variety of souvenirs for everyone on your list, and they have homemade fudge and candied nuts (that you can get free samples of before you make your decision of which flavour you get. I suggest the tiger butter. Yummy.) This is a must stop for anyone visiting Seattle.
Um, warning, I guess. There are real mummies and weird taxidermy everywhere. Have fun!
David Lam
The Ye Olde Curiosity Shop is stunning.
This examination is long due paying little character to I on an incredibly key estimation need to see Ye Olde Curiosity Shop.
Visited Ye Olde Curiosity Shop last Christmas to buy presents for my family. As we in general in everything considered in everything considered in with everything pondered know, Christmas is open giving. Its better than anything standard to know there are one stop present shops around the zone so its less issue to look and buy for presents.
I was tied down how much gift considerations there are inside the shop. From toys to reinforces, there are packs to look at. Since I need to buy something for most by a wide edge of the relatives, I need to check for gifts sensible for each age. Head thing all of them are here.
The place is paying little respect to gets. You will have a mammoth area of fun just by walking around the shop. Packs to get a couple of information about. The place is overwhelming and clean. Extraordinarily, even the alliance is astonishing even there were a titanic component of customers getting degrees of overhaul. They can even wrap the present for you. Shouldn't something be said about that?
I will return here at Ye Olde Curiosity Shop to buy presents for a sidekick's birthday.
Carter forreal
A true Seattle landmark. It might be on the tourist side, but has so much history its worth the time. Always a fun time
Michele Clark
I really liked the store but had an upsetting event occur. I overheard the cashier yell at a woman, call her a B* and then after she said she was ill (and while leaving the store) he told her to "go die B*". It was completely inappropriate and shocking. I hope management deals with the cashier's behavior.
Shannon Vendemmia
Interesting animals and dead things. Some people find it cool but it's just not my type of place. More like a museum that you can buy trinkets at.
Tony Calzaretta
such a great shop been going since I was a child
cassandra Scarano-Blee
A must do on peir 54! Look for the vampire killer kit!!
Onyx Yskamp
It was an interesting mix of very touristy stuff and very interesting and odd stuff. Lots of taxidermy and other dead things (which I vote as a good thing). We did buy a phone charger there which ended up not working right out of the box. So we called them and they refunded the entire purchase with no hassle. Good service. Nice people. If you try and buy a charger test it out at the store first.
Nik Mukhin
As we were walking around Seattle and the bay we stumbled upon this shop at the end of the pier. What a pleasant surprise it was! This shop is so weird and confusing yet also so interesting. If you have dreamed of something it then it's probably in this shop. When we were checking out (we bought a small cup and a magnet) the cashier turned out to be the manager, he was kind enough to explain the thought behind the store and was very pleasing. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area. Please note that their is no food in the shop.
Travis Robins
I've gone to this place many times over the course of my life and it's always fun.
Andrew White
Pretty weird, fun little tourist spot.
Sanchit Batra
Definitely had a few interesting items but most of it was stuff that would've fascinated me as a middle schooler, not really as an adult. I do appreciate that they carry Harry Potter wands though, I'll probably start a collection at some point
Ryan Christensen
Always have to stop in and see the oddities when we go downtown. Fun stuff to look at and great gift ideas
Hedgina
I loved this place! Be prepared for lots of people, but to me it was worth it. I love odd and curious things, and this place delivered. The have a permanent display in the back you can view of all sorts of weird stuff. I really liked all the odd taxidermy that they had for sale.
Kristin Shapiro
This store is a free "Ripley's Believe it or Not" museum tour. I would definitely make this a stop on the strip. The store has small aisles.
Crystal Brendel
There is so much stuff here you never know what you are going to find. One awesome thing about Seattle and the spots to see is that they all have the cool penny presses! If you have the time and the coin you can easily spend 200$ around the city just collecting all the different pressed penny designs!
Saralynne Tsiaku
I always find something to get here. It's full of interesting and unexpected things. There are a lot of curiosities and museam-like cases full of oddities and off the wall things you wouldn't find anywhere else. They've got the usual tourist knick knacks and toys too, so there's truly something for everyone. It's always very crowded though, so be prepared to dodge a crowd. Great experience overall, highly recommend.
rlc615206
A Seattle must see for visitors and families. Take the time to read and look closely. Buy a souvenir while you're here. Always stop in when I'm on the waterfront even though I've seen it all 100 times. Coolest shop you'll see
Marilyn Branson
A must stop and see. You can find all kinds of treasures here, I even ended up with purchasing a butterfly and moth from Madagascar. Very unexpected but oil fulfilling. Be sure to say hello to the mummy.
Christopher Driver
Kinda interesting - alot of standard touristy knickknacks , but some cool oddities and artifacts to find in there , too . . .
Kolton Hahn
Great gift shop! They have very unique gifts that I've never seen at any other area, and they don't only cater to the Seattle hype kind of tourist. Great for anyone.
Jasmin Chernecki
Such an amazing experience and best of all its FREE! So many rare, bizarre and intresting items to see, that have been collected over the years. Love that everything is labelled and you can buy some funky siuvinerous of your own. For anyone who enjoys Seattle, rare anomalies or vintage items, it's the place for you.
Cheska Martos Lu
Love, love this shop. So happy it is still around after all these years. A super fun place for the whole family. Souvenirs for anyone & very reasonable prices for everyone's budget. The history, artifacts & unique cultural aspects.
K B
Fun and witty! I try to stop by here every time I visit Seattle. The decor is off the wall, almost like being in a page from a "Ripley's Believe It or Not" book. There are plenty gifts, tricks and knick knacks to gloss over. I spent about 15min laughing with friends as we tried on holographic eyeball glasses. The old arcade machines are neat and enjoyable to play with. I suggest you to try out the old gypsy box in the back; she'll give you a fortune for a dollar and they are pretty darn cool as a souvenir. (I keep mine in my wallet and sometimes share them with strangers that need a smile.) I highly encourage you to stop by this place at least once.
Almondy Roque
Just a cool shop to see, especially for my boys. Kinda scary for some kids possibly but super cool for my tweens.
Derek Allenbach
I love the old curiosity shop and I think visiting this place if you're in the area should be a must. Fun stuff to look at and if you bring kids then they will love it. It's the type of place that you feel like you need to buy stuff that you dont need at all but somehow will make you happier. It's for the experience! Do it!
Tim Simon
This is not just a store, it is a tourist attraction. They have all kinds of curiosities on display from shrunken heads and mummies to whale vertebrae. If you are looking for an unusual gift, this is the place to find it. They have everything from native American art to large spiders encased in glass. As a young child, this was where I always wanted to go on my birthday--an 8 year old boy wanting to go shopping, that has to be an endorsement.
Jack-Allen Snodgrass
A bit touristy but a cool place to pop into if you're walking along the boardwalk in Seattle. They have some great little knick-knacks in there and more than just your average postcard souvenir type things. prices are what id call pretty reasonable especially for a large metropolitan area. Be sure to check out some of their preserved artifacts.
Alice Tahan
Ahh I gotta give Ye Olde Curiosity Shop five stars, just due to the famous reputation its established here in Seattle. For years I can remember coming here and always being entertained and somewhat disturbed at all the weird stuff in here.
For sure a tourist trap but how can you pass up an opportunity to go look at one of the most bizarre stores around here? I think its a great place to check out and kill some time.
Nicholas DiPietro
Tourist trinket shop masquerading as a museum. That being said, I recommend you visit because there are actually some worthwhile exhibits on display here, and there is something fun and interesting for almost everyone. We have visited multiple times and continue to go back and discover something new each time.
Machelle Summers
So many things to choose from nice prices and helpful people as for a novelty shop for souvenirs it's a pretty good one
Hannah Bredeman
Very cool place! Lots of unique gifts at a very reasonable price. The cashier was very friendly and made sure to tell us where they keep the dead bodies 😂 highly recommend for any tourist walking by!! …
Janet Passey
Just as I remembered! Fun stuff to look at!
ShaelynnMoody
They moved it from the main boardwalk down to closer to the water, I think by the Harley shop? Hteat place to browse and grab souvenirs
Amy Underwood
Got some cool souvenirs here for my trips home.
Staff was friendly and also got some unique Lego figures.
Edd T
There are some very cool oddities in this place! Worth a visit!
Jess Ica H.
Always a pleasure to visit Sylvester and check out the odd curiousities of the shop! So many different things for people both in and out of state to take interest in and always weird! Love this store! Great to take people from out of town to and just to go visit in general!
Cedric Fredrickson
Weird, yes. Interesting stuff to look at, yes.
Allan Wright
A funky waterfront must see shop full of oddities and trinkets to bring back from your trip. Prices aren't too bad.
Richelle Squires
They do have some oddities, like animals with multiple heads and such, but I was expecting more. The rest was very much just a glorified gift shop. The associate that we had contact with was knowledgeable. The store was very crowded.
Amanda Taylor
They always have really cool stuff great souvenirs and they're all really nice, some items are a little over priced.
Chris Stines
Worth a trip to see the the shrunken head, but don't be fooled, this is one small interesting display case at the very BACK of a tourist trap gift shop. You have to swim through a sea of merchandise to see the heads. Not a good spot to take kids. It's flipped the museum and museum gift store paradigm around. All gift store with one art display.
Mike Patello
Tourist trap most definitely, but the old time exhibits wow! Can't leave without something unique. Prices really reasonable for the location. Something for everyone. For some reason always remember it bigger than it is.
Mark O'Deady
Again, this is one of the "Must See and Do" tourist spots in Seattle. Located on the waterfront, the Ye Olde Curiosity Shop features some of the weirdest stuff in Seattle and the perfect place to purchase all of those tourist souvenirs you know you need to take home.
Every local kid has fond memories of their childhood visits to the Ye Olde Curiosity Shop and nobody should pass up the opportunity to say they've "been there, done that!" And, for most of it, we can't help ourselves... we just keep coming back (using visiting friends and family as our excuse). Don't miss this place just because a local didn't bring you here!
Roxanne Guevara
This place is cool. It's full of soooooo many fascinating things that could keep my interest for days. There is definitely something there for everyone. If you need a present for someone that has everything you might be able to get something here. I absolutely recommend this place.
S
Cool place near the attractions on next to the water. Definitely worth a stop if you have time. Near to restaurants and other shops.
Jessica Howard
As crowded and busy as I remember it being as a kid. All sorts of weird things inside like mummies and other antiquities as well as tourist trinkets. Very narrow walkways and packed with stuff.
The fudge shop inside is delicious. Mmm.
Cindy Gibbs
What a fun store! I could see myself in here all the time if I lived nearer. A zillion things to look at, play with and snack on. Truly something for everyone. Plus, mummies. You can't lose.
Mai Li
Cute little shop - its worth just looking around
Mike Taylor
Not as awesome as the old location but still worth a visit. If you want to find that special gift from Seattle, the waterfront is the place. Not too touristy, and lots of interesting items to bring home!
K Jude Stevens
Find a gift for anyone from your mom to your weird cousin! Seashells, jewelry, bugs encased in resin, real walrus and bone carvings, rocks, gator teeth, zippos, and so much more! Check out the world in miniature including rice grain scripture, a chain carved from a toothpick, and scenes in walnut shells! Don't forget to get a pressed penny in any of 10 different designs! One of the coolest stores EVER! Loved it!
Hanna
Always a joy visiting. Good place to bring a friend or family who is visiting Seattle. Plenty of interesting things to look at, think about, and consider. Though I got to say their fresh fudge and roasted nuts (cashews, pencans, and pistachios) are very good!
Kelly Hennessy
The whole family loves this place! We find something new and amazing to see with their exists every time we go! Great, one of a kind gifts and a definite half an hour shopping trip just looking around at the museum exibits!
Lisa X.
Stumbled upon this visiting Pike Place Market in Seattle. Creepy shop as it has mummies (there was one of a child also) and quite realistic shrunken heads inside... A little bit too morbid for me displaying old corpes in a shop that's made to entertain. For me such things belong in an educational facility, but that's just my old-fashioned European opinion. Less judgemental kids might like it. Other than that it also carries stuffed animals, dried and pinned insects alongside of sometimes more interesting, sometimes more trivial souvenir shop items. Staff was nice though.
Mike Parker
Tourist trap? Perhaps, but it is still a unique experience well worth a few minutes of your time if you're strolling the waterfront. Lots of fun items for sale and a plethora of curiosities in every nook and cranny. Plus, it's not like there are a lot of places to see mummies.
Denver Longmire
I go here nearly everytime I am able when in Seattle. I love seeing the oddities and art. I bought some turtle jaw bones here and they were perfect for what I used them in (I made necklaces.)
Alisha Woolls
Cute little novelty shop. Not your average souvenir store.
Barry Buckley
What can you say about this place. From creepy to downright bizarre, this is one of my favorite places to visit while in Seattle. Picked up a few choice presents here which were loved! Eclectic and strange items and stuff for everyone!
Kirk
Been going to this store since I was a little kid. Place is filled with weird and creepy stuff but also really nifty things. Seattle truly has an iconic gift shop with this place that no other city has in my opinion.
C B
I could spend hours in that shop. Only had half an hour but they have so many cool things to look at. Very odd things and very curious things! Loved it!!
Selena Yanez
Neat place with fun mystery boxes. Also found the perfect wind up music box for a friends birthday unexpectedly. Not just all tourist items, got some cool stuff.
Jim Harja
An old Seattle waterfront store full of real curiosities and fun touristy stuff to buy. A classic to see!
Kindle Carpp
Fun tourist trap. Full of curiosities that you would find in a Victorian cabinet, souvenirs and toys for the kids. Kind of like getting into grandma's attic. It's always packed and a little claustrophobic.
Shane Y
Interesting little shop with lots of neat, weird, odd, and otherwise different things to check out. Everyone working there has always been very nice to me whenever I have visited. Definitely recommend visiting if you are in the area as a tourist and looking for something kinda different to check out!
Stephanie Hayden
So much fun to see all the different items!
Kelli Buck
my all time favorite visit when down on the pier in seattle!
go see the cool stuff and take some cash to buy a treasure!!! ever since i was little, this has been my favorite stop!
Joe McDonald
Just as the name suggests has everything your curiosity could desire. It's a great place for kids to browse and adults too. They have two mummies on display. I think this place has been on Ripley's Believe It or Not the old TV show.
kenny ricks
It is a great little trinket shop that does not disappoint when it comes to the macabre. It has a really interesting selection of human remains, including shrunken heads. It would be a great, quick stop if you pass along the boardwalk in Seattle.
Michael Sayre
Kind of a mishmash of curiosities (as one might expect from the name), with a few uniquely Pacific Northwest items like Tlingit/Haida/Tsimshian masks and carvings. Mostly a tourist trap and consistently crowded, you may not find anything worth buying but curio collectors and tourism completionists will still want to swing through and check things out.
Rena Jack
A must stop for interesting and wild sights. Theres a mummy called Sylvester and oddities of nature. Souvenirs and memorabilia, small toys. Loads of fun for all ages, gets crowded but that's normal.
Nicky Noll
Awesome place!! Lots of fun oddities
Wyatt Delahunt
The essential souvenir shop. It's got hundreds of little knick-knacks and you'll be sure to find something interesting. They've also got a little fudge shop in back too. Definitely plan to stop here if you're in the area.
Jim Arnold
Cool collection of weird stuff plus lots of unique gifts and souvenirs. A must see for the family and geekdom.
Don Bracchi
A funky souvenir shop and museum of sorts that is worth a stop. Museum articles include mummies and shrunken heads (replicas?) and a lot more esoteric stuff. No entry charge.
Fun for adults and kids
Steven H.
As the name suggests, Ye Old Curiosity Shop is a bit different yet also the oddly same. It is different in the it has some oddities to like shrunken heads (not real ... I hope). The sameness is because it is also a tourist store at its core. If you're walking the waterfront in Seattle, the store is worth a quick stop in to check it out but before you buy anything remember to ask yourself, "how and how often will I use this." In general, it's a good question to ponder in brick and mortar stores or when cruising Amazon online.
Bekah Anderson
Always a favorite stop along the waterfront. Great place for gifts and souvenirs.
Nich C.
Soooooo coooool! What a wonderful store!
The staff are great and friendly, they're just as amazing as the products that are available to buy.
I wish I could buy it all, some amazing things that made me giggle.
Was able to have a laugh with the cashier too!
MS vicki s.
Love this place!!! So many different, weird, interesting things to see. Always have a great time there. Definitely a "must see" place! I can always find something to buy here.
Visceral Reaction
This is a really fun store if you've never been to the Seattle waterfront before. Just all kinds of crazy knick knacks, for the friends back home. I've been to Seattle hundreds of times and I still stop in when I'm on the waterfront.
Ryan Trudell
A must stop while visiting Seattle! Bought my 2nd carved wooden fish here and will go again next time for sure!
Angel M. Esperas
If you visit Seattle, this is the place to go! It's one of those places you want to check out to just say you went there. They have all sorts of fun knick knacks, jewelry, games, toys, handmade items, etc. It's also right on the water and close to the market, aquarium, argosy cruise, etc.
Isaac Camacho
One of those classic Seattle shops you must visit if your down on the waterfront. Filled with thousands of cool things including two mummified people and strange animals your kids will be begging not leave!
Kelley Connor
I could spend hours looking around in this store, although my seven-year-old was really freaked out by the mummies and shrunken heads! Parents with squeamish little ones, be warned! Otherwise, such a unique and fun place to shop!
Jim T
25 years ago, my Dad brought me here to glimpse something he saw 25 years before that when he came immigrated to the US serving in the Navy. The store is a rarely seen amazing macabre collection that is rarely seen anywhere in America these days. Go there.. feel the history.. embrace it.
Mary Jo Goodwin
A place you have to see when you visit Seattle. Plenty of souvenirs and oddities. I haven't been since the Viaduct has come down but plan to as improvements are made. The whole area will be so different.
Bella Official

Sara Kenworthy
Cute little gift/oddities shop. 7 out of 10
Takumi Fujiwara
Lovely shop. Has so many amazing things and the workers were so friendly!
Dirk Mitchell
Kind of a tourist trap but then again I love it because I remember going here as a kid. Cool to see some of the old artifacts on the walls and in the cases but unless you have a lot of money for the cool stuff there are just a lot of tourist trinkets. Still a good place to visit.
Mike Kereluck
As I was walking by the waterfront, I noticed this place. It piqued my curiosity. I decided to go in and shop. I guess you could call my actions a curiosity shop. On display, they had corpses and beasts of rarity. Had I spent any more time in there, I would have become a part of it!
Darin Erickson
Still as cool as i remember it bought some mexican jumping. Beans had my fortune read and purchased some awesome fudge while. Strolling along checking out there unusual trikets they have for sale things you cant find anywhere else great time friendly staff a joy to revisit never had a better day
Jessica London
Love the cool stuff you can see. Definitely keeps up with the way the old shops used to be ran. It mostly satisfies your curious side. Mummie shrunken heads ECT plus cool novelties
Cassandra Barber
They have some pretty cool stuff including bottled preserved sharks and scorpion friendship necklaces but most of the store is typical tourist trap, though a nice one!
Julia M.
plenty of cute souvenirs, cool oddities, and amazing staff!!!
Piper James
So glad this place is still here. A true treasure and a must see if you are in Seattle.
Heather Torpy
Super touristy spot. Not exactly what we were hoping for. Free to go in and look around though. Alot of the macabre items are hanging from the ceiling so make sure to look up and find the mermaid. It's pretty funny.
Toine Siebelink
Like a little free museum 😁 …
Carrie Finnegan
This is a total tourist trap located in an area full of tourist traps, but instead of being a normal souvenir shop the place is also brimming with weird museum items. Sculptures made out of rice you view thru magnifying glasses, shrunken heads and mummies of shady origin, Ukrainian nesting dolls, ships in a bottle...just to name a few. Our kids totally enjoyed it. We ended going thru twice on our trip simply because it was close to other attractions and we had time to kill. I wouldn't "recommend" it per se, but if you need to kill some time units before your sunset cruise departs...its totally worth it.
Not Mike
This place was neat! Lots of freaky things that you don't really see anywhere else in Seattle. Rar skulls, odd Knick knacks, and other trinkets that you just have to see for yourself. Unique stuff and some political humor items that could make for good gag jokes
friendly ghost
A good spot for tourist trinkets. Good homemade fudge. Pick up a local map here. They have some unique items to take home to the loved ones who couldn't make the trip.
Abigail Young
Kitschy and crowded, a great tourist trap... but with a couple of genuinely interesting displays (the "Curiosity" section) to one side of the shop. If you're looking for some Northwestern trinkets or baubles to take home on a plane, this would be a great place to purchase them, but Seattle locals will likely not be very interested. Also has its fair share of Kikkerland and Archie McPhee amusements, so general advice is to take the local art or jewelry, and get everything else online.
Of particular note to local amateur historians: this shop has a collection of matted historic photo prints of places in the Washington area, very well done and inexpensive.
Curt Engeland
I have loved visiting this store since i was a kid. Nothing like seeing the mummy Sylvester, that is prominent attraction here. Nice place.
mama K
Took the kids here they absolutely loved all the strange and cool stuff! The mummies and the shrunken heads were their favorites. Definitely a 5☆place to shop or even just visit.
Mrs Robertson
This place is a tradition if you can tolerate the hoards of people who love to look around too
SM Tan
What a lovely gem on the water front in Seattle. It's full of curious oddities that I had fun peering at, even if I wasn't in the market for tourist trinkets. Pro tip: look up when you wander in.
James Wyles
Awesome old place. Worth seeing even if you don't want to biy anything. They have a mummy, two antique player pianos, amd many other curious things to see. Also, the fudge they make here is some of the best I've had.
Sam Davenport
There's this one pig that was more like multiple because it was like combined with other pigs
Jessica Hanna
This is an interesting store but very tourist trap like. Not too many unique finds for purchase.
Mira Koulogeorge
It's a great place to bring friends or family from out of town. So many interesting and unusual things to see and buy; not to mention all the merchandise any tourist visiting seattle could ask for.
Shaun
Still awesome after all these years. I can't remember the last time I visited ye old curiousity shop it feels like over 10 years. I want to go back and buy some stuff just because.
Laura Musikanski
Okay where else will you see a real shrunken head ( more than one) and buy jumping beans?
It’s a Seattle institution and worth the visit. Hunt the ceilings and corners for the weird and wonderful. When a child we used to relish a trio to ye olde curiosity shop! We would talk about it for days.
Buy a slap bracelet for a four year old or some sweets for your sweetie. We gotta make sure this place stays in Seattle
Becky Clegg
This is such a fun shop, with wonders to see like the smallest skeleton of a sea horse, and some kind of creepy sea creature mermaid. It was unlike other shops I've been to, and so fun for kids too.
Heather Reynolds
Its somewhere I've visited over the past 20 yrs and still find things I've never seen before. Great place to buy unique gifts for everyone for any occasion. I love it!!
Donovan Dodd
Found a lot of gifts for family here!
Emily Endicott
The curiosities are fun to look at, and the little nick-knacks inside are great for when you are traveling and need small gifts for friends and family. The place was packed, and it was still fun to look around.
Jason Nadler
The cutest tourist trap you'll ever wander into. It's surprisingly small, definitely overpriced and kitschy, but worth a few minutes of your time, if only to be disturbed by the mummies and shrunken heads.
Nik Trujillo
This place is definitely on the most see list for me and should be for everyone who visits.
Chyna Frey
This is my favorite shop in Seattle. The knick knacks are cool, but the coolest part is all the shrunken heads, mummies and taxidermied creatures. A must see for any visitor.
K Long
Oddity, Curio and Trinket shop and free museum. Items for sale include animal skeletons, native tribal art and Seattle tourist memorabilia.
Krista Ducharme
Cool place to go check out! We enjoyed it. My daughter plans to bring her friend, who will be visiting from Australia, here to get a glimpse of American Historical Pop Culture.
Amanda Farnsworth
Lots of fun and funky 'curiosities'' like state magnets and awesome drawings on pin heads. Pretty neat.
Robert Kingsford
This was a fun shop at Pikes place! They have just about anything that you can imagine! Anything from the unique, to the strange, to to cool. Check it out. If you are in the area. They have amazing fudge also!
John Sudderth
A bunch of cool curiosties from shrunken heads to dove bunnies
mayryanna Shakti
This place is SO MUCH FUN! No shortage of things to look at - you could spend hours roaming the relatively small shop because it is just crammed full of treasures! My fave? THE MUMMY!
Victor DuFour
There is nothing wrong with this shop. It is chock full of weird tchotchkes and Seattle themed paraphernalia. To be honest, I was expecting weirder stuff. A case of expectations not meeting real life. Check it out, it does have an assortment of stuff worth perusing.
Tracey Hensen
I love this place. It's super weird. Don't miss out on the world's largest gooey duck clam. It's hidden. If nothing else, go for the pressed penny machines. They have three.
Jacki Beery
A must see if you are visiting the city. This has always been one of my favorite places to visit due to the ever changing inventions and mummies. It is definitely an unforgettable experience.
Tai Ler
Cool fun shop! Little pricey but worth checking!
Dani Eklund
Been coming here from time to time since i can remember! Love seeing the little knick-knacks and coming back everytime reviving old memories of the place! P.S. the orange creamsicle fudge should be a year round flavor!!!
Eric Percy-Fine
Worth a visit for weird and quirky things. I'm not sure anything in here is real or authentic, and not a place I'd go for locally sourced items.
Helga B
Great shop for souvenirs as well as odds and ends. They have some neat, unusual items and some unique artifacts in the back.
Some of the attendants can some completely uninterested to be there.
Shelley Phipps
A store to spend time in reading, looking, and believing or not
Athena Flusher
Weird. Loved it. Wish I could afford more of the curious wares rather than the touristy toys but they had some cool stuff from local artists too.
June Summer
I love places with random, interesting things. Definitely worth checking it out just for the cool items they have inside, I bought a couple of magnets and funny socks for souvenirs
Christopher “Ombwah” Holtorf
Looking for a souvenir if your visit to the Seattle waterfront? This place has you covered. Also no less than 4 penny-souvenir squishing machines inside at the time of my visit.
Finn
nice museum, and a nice gift shop aswell! cool oddities and cool little things, good for kids!
TIMOTHY REED
Definitely a great place
Lots of interesting things
John Oxman
Very incredible amount of very unusual and historic items. Many low priced tourist items. Musuem like displays.
Well worth a visit.
Shelby Thibodeau
If you like this place, check out Marshes Free Museum; same idea but a bigger space and better souvenirs. A great spot for Seattle, but could do better as a curiosity shop.
Jose Ferreira
Lots of knick nacks and wares. A bit overpriced for selling Chinese goods though. The chocolate/fudge stand was interesting and all the glass cased oddities is cool to check out.
Darby Sutton
I love this shop! Whenever I am in Seattle I make sure to stop by. They have the most interesting and bizzar features even compared to many museums.
Christopher J Kelly
Fun place for kids! Prices were awesome it fits in your budget. If you are in Seattle go there it will become a landmark, its already a treasure Arrrr!
Spenser Spenser
I love to visit. The fudge is something that I always bring home for my girls. The atmosphere is amazing with all of the interesting items.
Anastasia Henley
They have expanded a little since they've moved down a few spots on the pier and it is always fun to see what kinda stuff they have for tourists or locals
blaze psychology
Childhood wrapped in a store... Amazing
Duncan Miller
Justin was fantastic and hand delivered a Harry Potter wand to my hotel. Excellent and friendly service. Very cool and unique items. Great prices. Thanks team.
Jennifer Lemus
My son loves exploring all the unique items they have in their collection
Julianne Schwindt
Fun shop. Full of cool stuff and Interesting things.
Mugdha Bondre
Amazing place! Uncommon souvenirs. A little on the expensive side.
crasjsmith
Fun store but some stuff is way too expensive. Best part about it though was the kid selling the fudge. He was a contortionist and was super nice!
Diane H
This is a really fun place to go whether you've never been here or if you have been here many times. There are interesting strange, and fun oddities. There are bits of history, old game machines, and excellent souvenirs. Good for the whole family.
August Murphy
This place is awesome. It has very well priced souvenirs if your from out of Seattle. They have small toys that are at a good price and are very fun to play with.
Aileen Chung
Estrella the fortune teller is legit. Always tells me what's up. Also so many things to see and well worth getting the toy your kid wants to enjoy the novelty shrunken heads and double headed animals :)
Joseph Nohra
This place took me back, the variety of goods on display more than interesting covering items from every exotic world destination, make sure you taste the chocolate variety made on the premises, WOA to say the least, highly recommended to visit whilst on the Wharf.
Joseph K.
A glorified gift shop with some curiosities inside. I question how much of their curiosities are real vs. gaffs (things made to look like the real thing). It was ok and probably worth the stop for the kids. I would not get too caught up in it though.
Troy Windhorst
Caught in limbo between a convenience store and gift shop, this century old shop is a Pier 54 staple and is definitely a must for any souvenir seeker. It's not the biggest, but it will satisfy your deepest curiosities!
joshua iszler
I don't know how old the kid was that was working the counter he look like he was 12, he said it was his first day. But that kid definitely does not need any kind of customer service training because he was phenomenal. The place was packed because it was a rainy day so there was lots of people wandering around and not really buying anything and this kid was amazing! I may have slipped him my business card.
Harmony Willson
So, so fascinating. Lots of really cool, odd things, which I absolutely loved. I wish I could've spent more time there!
Meredith Randall
This place was packed with all types of souvenirs and lots of interesting oddities. I wish there was a bigger selection of oddies to buy but they were fun to look at!
Kimberly Barquest-Snell
Definitely not as unique as it once was but it was still fun to see the mummies & little trinkets that they have
Sean Millard
A wonderful tourist spot in seattle, on the waterfront. All of it's products and sights are incredibly unique. Fairly expensive, however, but you get what you pay for!
Kevin C
Tourist shop, some of the items are unique but most are just Seattle themed. It's in a beautiful location.
Monica Reese
Had an awesome time! Staff, wonderful, free sample of the fudge yumm. Fun and Funky stuff! Machine ate my $1, for the fortunate, gave me the fortunate. Thanks! :)
ed b
Great oddity store. Pleasant staff. Fun to explore and shop. Filled with interesting collectables and fun decorative pieces. Kitsch and gifts.
Linda Anders
I have loved going to this place since I was a small child living in Seattle. Got to introduce my children and grandchild to it last year. Yummy fudge made there.
Derek McCoy
This has always been a family favorite to visit every time we make the trip to Seattle. My wife has been coming here since she was a child and it's become a tradition for our children as well! It's a Seattle Pier icon!
Jon Lo
It's a cool place to visit. It's free and had alot of weird stuff in there. We went in just cause we were bored and found alot of interesting things in there. It's a super random store but interesting.
Shanda Mitchell
Such a fun and interesting place. Make sure and stop in. We had so much fun shopping all the different things. A ton of variety.
Gemma Amendola

Very cool place to visit 👍 …
Nastassja
Who doesn't love a store filled with oddities?! There is so much to see, it's definitely a store you have to visit if you're in the area. The weirder, the better!
Erica Davis
A must see Seattle tourist trap with lots of interesting antiques on display. Not the best place for quality souvenirs but fun for kids to find some trinkets.
Skip Smith
Amazing product selection, incredible and quirky mummies, very friendly staff. it is the most educational gift shop I have ever seen!
Billy Newcome
Great little shop of triptych and oddities.
Dan Wong
A toast to your coffin. May it be mad of a fine, old oak of a hundred years . . . Planted today! Checkout this place at least once if your curious. Worth my time in spades.
J&A L
Fun place. Not only is it a gift shop but also a cute mini museum with strange and interesting artifacts. Definitely worth checking out.
Annie Mehler
Really great gift options! Service and staff were very personable and helpful. The crazy pieces of art and collectibles in the store were amazing!
Ocean Tharp
Taking home a token for a quarter was my favorite part oh and of course the fortune that came with it♡
Bonnie Hamill
Been going to this shop for over thirty years and it's still as fun as the first time, kids love it!!!
Stephen Massey
Some of the coolest stuff around. Also, it was great to see some of the stuff I had when I was a kid ie; candy cigarettes, Laffy taffy, pop rocks.
Michael Fox
If you're showing a friend from out of town the Seattle waterfront you don't want to miss the Curiosity Shop. It has authentic North Coast tribal art for sale. It also has authentic whale penises on display and authentic mummified dead people.
Michael Whetstone
Love this place! Went here all the time when I was a child. Then I got to take my own kids here. My daughter is already asking when we can go back.
Craig Turpin
I've always been a fan of curiosity shops like this but Ye Olde Curiosity Shop is hands down the coolest one I've ever seen. It puts those hokey places at Niagara Falls to shame. There are literally too many items hanging on the walls, ceilings, strewn on the floor and behind the counters to process in one trip. It's also usually full of visitors so it's hard to work your way around the shop without bumping into people left and right. Some of the more interesting things to see are located in the front left and far back and to the right. Be sure to look up and look all around because you don't want to miss a single shocking site amongst the many relics & chochkies everywhere! Don't forget to stop by Ivars while you're down at the wharf.
Violet Berry
I loved the place. A lot of different stuff the staff was real nice. And the shrunken heads was really crazy to see. The mummys where amazing to see. I would definitely come back to this place...
Robert Garcia
Music boxes stickers mummy ♥ ❤ 💕 ivory and just some cool stuff for sale …
Jacey Idler
This place is by far my favorite in Seattle. They have neat stuff to buy and cool artifacts to look at. The staff was also very friendly. I will totally be going back here again.

Mike Grabowski
Very interesting collection of things
Megan Anderson
Cute souvenirs for out of towners. Super packed.
Paula Stanley
Creepy fun for the whole family!
Naughty Mermaid
Just like when we were kids. Such a fun place to take the kids and watch them see everything for there first time. I still buy junk ( oops stuff) I love. .
Elliot Goldner
My fave shop in the whole area is ye olde curiosity shop. They even offered to ship some large prints I bought so they wouldn't get ruined on the flight home.
N Ortiz
Really fun shop. Good gag gifts here. Museum-like area in the back of the shop. Must see if you're visiting.
Broan Komlo
Always a fun place to shop! An easy must see store/tourist attraction to find that quirky gift or souvenir.
Jean-Claude Jr. Lefebvre
Cool place lots of stuff to look at if you have never been there. It's mainly a collection of bibelots. There are a couple of other stuff but honestly once you've visited that place once there is little to keep you coming back.
Marty Canaday
Great place, has very cool stuff. Ceck out painting on a pin head or writing on a hair. There's stuffed fish, mammals...a mermaid.
K G
Nice chill environment filled with plenty of cool and weird items. A good place to stop by if visiting the pier in Seattle.
Jesse Varvis
I always have to stop in, when I am near the shop. I haven't been in a while, I was shocked that they moved. And why is the carousel music so far away from the main entrance?
