What an awesome store! It felt way larger on the inside than it looked like from the outside. There was a large variety of crystals, stones, jewelry, soaps and lotions, incense, clothing, books, art, and decorations. It was a blast to explore here and I will definitely be back!

I love this store. Beautiful,calming and enjoyable atmosphere. Clothing is high priced and they only carry sizes from infant up to large. No xl or xxl on any type of clothing. If your looking for stones, incense, sage, candles,tarot cards.and many more item check this place first.⭐⭐⭐⭐

This was my very first place to make my initial crystal and stone purchases! I’ve purchased two headbands, a handmade journal, a card, a raw Amethyst, a raw Red Garnet, a raw Blue Kyanite, four chime candles, and several other crystal pieces which are now gifted to a person who appreciates them as much as I do. I feel alive and happy when I visit, and I never know what I’ll find when I’m there. But I sure do love every item I purchase whether I keep said items for myself or gift them. It’s an all around positive experience for me. These are some of my most recent and past purchases from Dancing Cranes that I still have and use often. The staff are pleasant and helpful. My questions are answered, when I have them. And I’m free to browse as much as I like! Definitely a go to of mine!

The atmosphere here always touches my soul. On those down days, I find myself here in search of a crystal or a miniature elephant statue, this past visit. In 2020 I purchased a few matching silver feather rings for my best friend, sisters and myself. I've worn it every day since. I'll always come here! The staff is always so friendly. Fantastic shop and fantastic people!

I love this store. The atmosphere is so peaceful and the cafe that’s inside is also delicious. Sometimes the staff can seem a little cold or snooty, but other times the staff is very friendly. I come here for a lot of my home decor and for incense. I wish the candles they had were slightly cheaper, because for me the candles are expensive.

Highlights: 50 cent spell candles, great prices on incense, little gems that are worth checking out. Crystals and sage are overpriced, they don’t have Florida water but overall good energy. They play frequencies in the store which really does provide healing energy for the tools they sell. Great place to browse, just depends on what you’re looking for.

I love love this store. All of your senses will be impacted in a positive way here. The store is filled work colors that are vibrant, the huge variety incense catch your nose, the sounds of people, singing bowls, and instruments are wonderful. I come here as often as I can. Their stone collection is vast. Their jewelry selection is awesome. The staff are all inviting, attentive, and knowledgeable. The cafe is pretty comfortable and charming. The art gallery is pretty cool. I love that they support local artists. 5 stars! Highly recommended!

I’ve been going here since around 2017 and it’s been my first choice with buying crystals when I’m in the area. It has a variety of items and the workers have been pretty good so far with my experience. My only issues is the selling of items from closed practices such as white sage and dreamcatchers. As far as I know, the owners of this establishment are not of indigenous descent so they shouldn’t be selling it. You can easily keep yourself in business just selling the crystals, candles, soaps, etc. without taking from closed practices. I’ve also heard of poor treatment towards people of color by the workers. This should be a place of acceptance. Other than that, pretty good store

Cute hippy-gypsy clothing for women and small section for men. Adorable house decor, inscents and inscents making products. Their jewelry is amazing, with th raw and polished stones and gems, with a small selection of local artist. They also carry various musical instruments and scrysyal singing bowls. They have yard decor and hamd made journals as well. The tiny Cafe is great too, with pastry and gourmet coffee and tea and some are vegan friendly as well! My go-to place for supporting local businesses.

Very cool shop full of intriguing things, but as a side note placing money on Gautama Buddha can be interpreted as very offensive to buddhists as money is strictly forbidden to handle by monks prescribed by the Buddha himself.

One of the most unique stores in the world! They have such an amazing variety of Eastern, mystical, and exotic items. They have clothing, music, art, delicious food and drinks, a large healthy fish pond, and even a very large meditation room! The staff is friendly, plenty of street parking. If I lived near there, I'd visit it regularly!

Review from November 2020: I am beyond pleased! I was looking to place a large order of 16 items. Their website didn't have everything in stock so I called and told them what I was looking for. Within 30 minutes Zoey and Noel had found the items that hadn't been inventoried and added them to the website so I could place my order. When I picked it up I was so excited! The items were nicely wrapped with coordinating wrapping colors. My heart is full of gratitude and forever grateful! Review from May 2020: I placed an online order during the pandemic and received it within 2 days. The items I ordered are great quality. They were packaged nicely and wrapped so they couldn't be damaged. They also used recyclable materials, so no plastic other than the tape on the box. They gave me a necklace and sticker for free, and even hand wrote a thank you note on the invoice. Dancing Cranes Import is my new favorite place to order from!

Amazing environment, very calm and friendly. Huge selection of stones, Incense, and so much more! Everything is set at a very reasonable price. On top of all that, the food and smoothies they have are a healthy (vegan and gluten free options) and absolutely delicious and just like the rest of the store the food/drinks are very reasonably priced. All in all a great place to stop in to browse and get some good food.

An adorable little store with tons of unique clothing, jewelry, crystals, incense, statues, etc, with a fairly knowledgeable + very friendly staff. There’s a beautiful fountain right in the middle and it’s just in general, a very cool space. Some items are slightly overpriced but overall, it's a solid store if you're looking for things regarding the metaphysical. It’s also right next to a super cute cafe with lots of healthy options.

I been there a couple of times. I don't know how to explain it more then it feels courpitized even though the layout does not show that. I mean they don't have it set up like retail store but I mean you really don't see any employees walking around or engaged with the customers. They have some cool things like crystals and fabric posters and even an art area for local artists to display thier work. The koy pound in the center is really cool.

The atmosphere is so calming and peaceful. They have a wide variety of new age spirituality accoutrements. The building is full of life-sized plants and trees. Beautifully colored textiles in blankets, paintings, pillows , decor, and clothing. Unfortunately all of the clothing is for the VERY thin and/or the very young. Walking through this store is a pleasure. They even have a place for local artists, some of which was surprisingly good, and a small cafe with yummy pastries.

Oh my God this place is amazing. My one piece of advice is this, Don't show up An hour before they close or half an hour before they close. Show up like at 1:00 or 2:00 or earlier. Give yourself a few hours at least an hour minimum to go through this place. IT. IS AMAZING!!!

With the new management and post pandemic things got a little different at this place but I still like this place . The Cafe still doesn't offer dine in only takeout and that make me miss sitting by the window watching the outside while enjoy sipping from my cup of whatever drink I get, no more monthly fairs that used to happen the last Saturday of every month. No more yoga classes but I hope all of that will comeback gradually. The staff still friendly, the same high quality products with few new additions from time to time. The spiritual services still provided by appointment like good ol' days. I'm glad they still in business and didn't turned it into carpet store as I was told before.

If you want to take a trip without leaving, head here. The selection of EVERYTHING from all over the globe is quite nice. I love how everything flows in spite of it being eclectic. The crystals are lovely and well-priced, the silver jewelry is what always gets me in the pocket. I found some nice fabric, another ring, incense holder and some other amazing trinkets. This incense is going to be incredible and enhance my calm. I am thankful to have been shown this place. Noelle and the rest of the staff are always super friendly and helpful. This is a delightful store with a large selection of wonderful things. The jewelry is well crafted and the prices are very reasonable. The koi pond in the middle of the store is mesmerizing! By far my favorite hippie shop I've ever been to. A friend suggested it when I was in the market for a tapestry and was able to find a great one. The atmosphere is amazing. The staff are super friendly. I decided to look around after finding a tapestry I liked and without asking they offered to fold it and keep it behind the counter til I check out. My only complaint is that If I probably spent a lot more money than I intended to because of how much cool stuff in there.

Wonderful - magical - shop that always surprises me and impresses me. Don't go with a set item in mind unless you're sure they carry them. But def browse what they do sell. Staff is very friendly and helpful. My son and I were looking for a present for his mom. When checking out; He simply mentioned the owl figurine was a gift for her. The staff immediately went into gift wrap mode and made the gift a lot nicer. No extra charge. No hassle.

One of my favorite haunts in Salt Lake City. I sometimes will stop in here without the intention of buying anything, just for the atmosphere and how calming it is. The moment you walk in, you can see geodes, beautiful jewelry, an adorable little cafe, and a koi pond. The music they play is especially calming, as well. I usually don't buy clothing here, even though I would love to, because it's so expensive. But the rest of the items are pretty affordable. Great place to go for gifts! The people who work here are wonderful, as well. Always so friendly when you check out.

I have mixed feelings about this store. There's a lot to love and it's a fun spot to explore for unique gifts. My mixed emotions come from the price ranges for their crystals and the lack of welcoming customer service specifically. Most items in the store are hand crafted, organic, locally sourced etc which I happily pay extra to support. However, I was disappointed by the crystal selection and size for the prices. If you want something larger than a dime you're going to pay a pretty exorbitant amount. I was able to find a decent sized amethyst and clear quartz wand for an okay amount but I'll be sticking to my online spot for crystals next time. (LovingThyselfRocks on e.tsy if you're interested). I also found myself disappointed in the customer service. There were a lot of employees (like, a lot, I was surprised) and they were all either focused on chatting with each other or on their phones. We were obviously looking for something in front of one employee who was pointedly ignoring us for her phone to the point I felt bad to ask for help and didn't. Pretty lame. The vibe was definitely unfriendly and I can imagine if you had questions this place would feel pretty intimidating. There's cool stuff to see here but I think I'll skip it for other options next time.

I love this store. I have so many good memories here. I love the feel of the environment. I go more for the aura - it brings me peace. They have a variety of Incense, candles, rocks, novelty items, and jewelry. The clothes are nice, definitely more for those looking for the bohemian vibe. There’s a cafe - I’ve never been super impressed with the food. I’m a picky eater though and it’s target market is more vegan. They will sometimes have palm readers come and you can schedule appointments. Parking can be tricky - it’s not the best part of town, so don’t leave valuables in your car where they can be seen. There is street parking but also another parking lot just southwest across from the daycare.

Loved this store as it has such a wide selection from rocks, gems, tarot cards, incense, clothes, wall decor, and metaphysical knick knacks. What got the drop in star value is the prices on the rocks. Their prices are a little higher than a couple of other stores I frequent for rocks and gems. Otherwise I love the store, the ambience within and the selection. They have a coffee/tea bar as well which allows one to unwind in a reflective space.

Updated review from 1 star to 3 stars The service has gotten better. The only issue in regards to staff is the older woman overseeing the jewelry. She profiles and will happily help out some customers without being prompted but you will need to use your best code switching skills to even get an acknowledgment for help, that’s if she doesn’t ask another worker to help you instead. I guess she assumes that brown customers are cheap and tedious and not worth her time. I have mixed feelings about the new layout of the store. While is an improvement of the previous set up, there seams to be less product than before. This is still the best place if you want crystals and new age supplies in the valley, it just means that the bar is low with the competition. The cafe is good, just incredibly slow. Expect a 20 minute wait for drinks if mildly busy.

I love going to here. They have a blueberry smoothie that is so good. I love going and checking out the crystal meditation bowls and what new crystal's they have. I purchased curtains for my daughter here as they have a really great selection of Buddhist themed art work on them. I went into today and a girl named tanny was very helpful, had an amazing attitude, was very social and funny. I tried to tell her that a mythological greek water horse is a hippocampus. I have been going to this establishment since I was a child and I am always in love with the assortment of goods they have. I love the addition of the cafe in recent years; I think it really rounds out the entire shop because you can get a wonderful, peaceful experience with atmosohere, food, and the wealth of products that you can get. Hand-made goods to be found everywhere, incredible imports. I really love this store and will continue to go there for years to come. They're so paranoid of you stealing they'll have multiple people ask you if they can keep your things at the counter for you. The coffee shop in the store has tons of awesome vegan options, there’s daily readers available, and the huge water feature in the middle of the store is beautiful! My only complaint is that there doesn’t ever seem to be enough workers available for how busy it usually is. Other than that, it’s my favorite metaphysical store in Salt Lake!

I think the friendliness of staff overall could and should improve.. seems to be a little uptight most times. They're out of spray sage alot. High prices for jewelry. My favorite element of this place - aside from the enlightenment aspect - is the large koi pond in the center of the store. It really enhances your shopping experience. Don't forget! My FAVORITE store in SLC This store to me, is like a home. It's a refuge on a bad day, when stepping through the quaint old doors, you are enveloped in incense scented mellowness. Absolutely the best for anything hippie or spiritual. First time here I spent well over an hour just loving on all the beautiful products. Favorite things there are unique jewellery, good incense, awesome fashion, and all the artistic styles. Very zen, very full of happiness. Anything you need in this category is probably there. Don't expect CBD products, however there are plenty of other shops in Utah that sell that but everything else is here!

This place has a good variety of goods that are hard to find elsewhere in Utah, it has a very nice atmosphere and a pretty good selection. However, I have a few issues. I was looking for Buddha and bodhisattva statues for my home altar and many Buddhas are just strewn about the store. There was also a area by the register line that had a small sign reading "red Buddhas", they were all red, but none were Buddhas, most weren't even Buddhist related. It was a bit disappointing to see a false labeling like that.

Huge store with so many interesting trinkets and gifts, unique, handmade, imported, beautiful, big and small. The scent of incense or candles (patchouli?) wafting through the whole place. There's even a koi pond in the middle of the sales floor, and a studio to the side where apparently they do yoga and meditation classes. You don't have to be a hippie to appreciate this store. Never knew this place existed, but I'll be headed back the next time I want to find an unusual gift.

Sometimes I feel like they are watching me to make sure I don't steal or something which can spoil an experience. The atmosphere was a very peaceful and excellent. The only thing I would have to say is that they were accommodative to a person in a wheelchair as long as you were able to go through the back door of the little Bakery that is within the store through the kitchen. The only improvements that do need to be made is that a ramp is brought to the front door of the store. Once you enter the store you are able to go to the restaurant Bakery. If someone from out of town didn't know this they wouldn't be looking for a back way in. Other than that I enjoyed my time in the store and it is a great atmosphere to be in.

I visit this place quite often yet I have never had a bad experience so I am not sure why most of the other comments are negative. And even if there were some bad employees its not really the store's fault. Give those employees bad reviews, not the store. Because the store itself is absolutely amazing. When you enter Dancing Crane Imports your get an unexplainable vibe and one who walks in the store can get lost in it for hours. I know that my first time going I planned just to stop by since I was waiting to get picked up by some friends but I ended up in the stores for hours and I loved it. If anyone has gone to the Clark Planetarium at the Gateway, Dancing Crane Imports is almost like that store just a different focus. Its really fun to look at all the different cool things at the Planetarium and its amazing to look at all the cool and different things at Dancing Crane.

This was awesome... again. Everytime I go I'm totally impressed by the staff, the service and "the energy" of the place. I have talked about this place all over the world. I'm in these kinds of shops all over the planet and this is definitely a favorite. If you are going to the Temple Grounds or other tourist activities in Salt lake City... Although I look more like the narc sent in to find something illicit, I'm actually a secret criminal. A harmless one, but a criminal none the less; haven't been on the right side of the law for decades. I'm also someone who can see parts of the electromagnetic spectrum that not everyone can, or at least not everyone realizes what they're looking at when they see it. As such, I appreciate a place where you can talk about the "energy of a stone" without sounding crazy, and at DC, that sort of a conversation is just part of the normal course of doing business. There are other stores in town that have larger selections of crystals, incense, wind chimes, Tibetan singing crystal bowls, Eastern musical instruments, tie-dyed wall hangings, women's clothing (with a distinctly hippie style), water fountains, handmade jewelry, salt lamps, stickers bells, boxes, baubles, and other various natural/new age/hippy products. But nowhere else has all these products under one roof, and nowhere else even comes close to the calm, welcoming atmosphere of DC. Even an outwardly square person like myself always feels welcome, and like I want to just sit around and enjoy the ambiance, which one is perfectly welcome to do there. DC is perfectly serious in its new age idealism, and it makes for a really pleasant experience. This is one store where shopping is actually a mental respite, even if one can easily spend hundreds of dollars without even trying. But if you only have dozens of dollars, DC still has something cool for you too.

Really beautiful assortment of jewelry from all parts of the world, as well as textiles such as rugs, pillows, woven quilts mostly from places like Nepal and India. They also have Cafe Gebo, which has really amazing vegan/vegetarian food and coffee/smoothies available. On every other Sunday and Wednesday I believe they have tarot and Oracle readers but I'm not 100% sure. Their assortment of incense is also top notch, along with the local art they have for sale. Really cool place to find a gift!

This place has a really cool vibe. Everything you could consider spiritual or hippie-ish with zero "weed be better off" business. Relaxing for just a quick stroll and window shopping. Their selection of stones for healing, meditation or interest, is absolutely massive. Quartz in more shapes than a weight watchers group. Nifty angel shaped stones to smooth hearts. They also have a more Oriental section if you're a Buddhist with those interest or a poser who likes to smoke on a rice pillow. The clothing section is primarily female, but still varied. You wouldn't shop for clothes here unless you WOULD shop for clothes here. That said my wife got a cute bag. They also offer services like chakra alignments, which is pretty dope and was very relaxing. Not my cup of tea, but some people believe horoscopes so who's to say? Definitely pop in if you have any interest, the time you spend here is never wasted.

Beautiful and delightful import store in huge warehouse! Their atmosphere makes it fun to simply browse, and they have a small cafe inside the store. A small koi fish pond adorns the center of the store. Great place to buy Indian import dresses and skirts, various small stones, multicultural jewelry, and a world selection of interior design goods. This had been a unique staple location within Sugarhouse for several decades, having moved once from the heart of sugarhouse due to new construction. Cannot recommend this store more!!!

The store is beautiful...well done. The little snack shop leaves a tremendous amount to be desired in the service department. We waited 20 minutes for two iced teas. Watched people that had come in behind us being served both drinks and food. Our teas came out with 4 cubes of ice in them. I asked for a cup of ice and was brought another 4 cubes for each drink. Wow! Iced tea is iced. In case you didn't know. I was most irritated that it was such an inconvenience to make my order..then treated like I was imposing.

I used to love coming here but lately I've noticed everything there is so expensive compared to other shops like this. I love the selection of clothes they have but they are not very well made. I've boughten quite a few pairs of pants there and every single one of them has fallen apart within the first few wears. Buttons fall off, seams rip, all of that. I wouldn't complain except I paid way more than I should've. I attached some pictures of one of the pairs that I bought. When leg I had to safety pin because not just one but all buttons fell off.. The staff there ignores you and acts like you're not there when you clearly need help. No greeting or anything.

The business instantly calms us down from the hectic day to day city life and the business employees are always very friendly and respectful towards me and my wife. I find it sad so many people rate their experience here 1 or 2 stars after only going, not even a handful of times? I've been going to this place for near 10 yrs off and on, and it's as lovely to me as it was the first time ever crossing the doorway, it's sad that people don't take the time to understand that the people working here are just that, people, not perfect or flawless in any way what do ever, I've had bad service before and such, but the employees do not reflect this place to me it's the atmosphere that I love most and I've seen a lot of people come and go from this store over the last decade. Also try to understand that if you walk into any store just before closing or when it's busy, service and people will not be too notch, before closing the people wanna go home, the store is not their life not are you or me, and if it's busy then service suffers. Here is my advice to you, don't go into any store with expectations of what you think it should be or how it should be run, go in and just browse around feel the atmosphere of peace in this place and then just talk to the people who work there make them a friend don't see them as a service robot there to fill your needs and if you do need help try asking nicely and don't be offended by anything they do, cause in the end we are all just people trying to live and it's pointless to judge those you don't know. Anyway I love this place and I alway will because it's unique and lovely and I feel at peace when I go in here and the people well just try to be nice and they will be nice too

I love the dancing crane! I love the selection of jewlery, the peices are so unique and not too expensive for the quality. Plus, I love browsing through the wide variety of stones for wrapping, they can also wrap stones for you. They have imports from all over and locally made items. I go there for gifts and even when I am bored. It's fascinating to look at everything because they always have something new and exciting.

Dancing cranes is the best place to imported goods. They have beautiful jewelry including real silver rings, bracelets and necklaces, and they also have hand-wrapped crystal necklaces as well. Great place to buy clothes, books, journals, sage, trinkets, stickers, etc. Their crystal/rock selection is vast, and each type has a card labeled with the name and properties. Whether you are interested in buying or just for the peaceful experience, dancing cranes is a place you need to check out. Don't forget to see the koi pond!

Whenever someone asks me where I got a beautiful piece of jewelry, clothing, diety figurines, or anything else, my answer is usually Dancing Cranes. This is my go to shop for holiday gifts, incense, candles, greeting cards, home decorations and more. It always has such a peaceful atmosphere, I sometimes go just to relax a little bit and watch the koi fish swim around the gorgeous fountain the store wraps around. They have a local business and events bulletin board, and even world music instruments. This is by far my favorite place to shop!

I love this store!!!!!! U can find unique gifts for that person who is hard to buy for. I have pretty much deco'd my house with the dancing crane imports. I have bought jewelry. I make my own jewelry, and they now carry beads and it's good quality. Clothes (hippie tye dye stuff too), incense an oils. Budda statues. There is mystical reader. There are belly dancing classes. And a cafe if your hungry. Just go u will love it. When u get to the front door. Take a deep breathe and let the world fall off. And any stress and walk in. Love dancing cranes for my hippy side. They've got it all- small and large gongs, oils, floor cushions, clothes, crystals and stones, etc. There is a great cafe that offers vegan and gluten free items and locally produced goods, like honey. Mostly, though, I go there for the kundalini yoga classes, my favorite being the monthly full moon going bath put on by Deva. She is amazing and that class is incredibly powerful!

The Dancing crane and is an AHHHHMAZING one-of-a-kind store or rather a place of its own kind and when you step in the front doors of this place you are just bombarded with all these just B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L smells and when you walk around there is just an amazing assortment of all kinds of gems 💎 and different things that no other place has.. It’s hard to put into words just what the dancing crane is if you have never been there my advice to you is to go to the Sugar House neighborhood and go to the dancing crane imports store off 700 east and check it out for yourself I promise you will not be disappointed and you will walk out of there with something that you will be satisfied with. There is something for everyone at the dancing crane!!!!!
