This is a bright and fun store with everything within your kid's reach. The candy is a bit over priced, but you can find all of it in one place! Nothing too spectacular in candy, but they beat the pants off anywhere else in drink variety. If you are looking for fun bottle labels, or a unique flavor, or to try several different brands of one flavor, then this is definitely your place!

One of the best candy stores in Downtown PDX! I go here for the selection of bulk candy and saltwater taffy as that seems to be really well priced, although they also have many different novelty drinks that anyone should be able to find at least one they enjoy. They also recently added old-style pinball machines that you can play with while you are there! The only reason I'm rating this 4 stars instead of 5 stars is that if you aren't buying from their bulk candy bins then pretty much everything is fairly decently overpriced, and could be found much cheaper online or at a different store, but if the price does not bother you then they have an amazing selection of candy.

Awesome variety and knowledge here. They carry Moxie and Cel-Ray, two rare East coast sodas. The owner was great to talk to and sold me a secret limited soda from the backroom.

This is not going to be one of those reviews where I complain about the lack of real choice in candy products or even the lack of nostalgia candies or by the layout. (If your going to put the checkout in the middle how about putting it on a platform so you discourage shoplifting and customers can ask questions.) This reviewer wants to ask why is downtown such an empty wasteland. Has the chamber of commerce been to downtown Salem lately. The majority of the downtown business space is rented and opened. While downtown Portland is a empty lot of boarded up windows and tagged.

I like Rocket Fizz I'm glad they didn't shut down like everyone else did however I dove into my $11 bag of candy and it's stale it tastes horrible. This makes me sad because this place holds special meaning to me. I guess not many people go down town any more. I hope this doesn't mean they're coming to a quick end.

This is a great place to take anyone to kids, and adults. But if you take a kid you might want to keep really good eye on him cuz they're to be grabbing all the candies and everything. It's very clean and organized.

Very interesting place if you want a lot of sugar. Great selection of tasty and/or weird sodas and a very good selection of candy. Love they had such a great selection of salt water taffy. Workers were very kind and helpful and seemed to enjoy their work. Only thing is be expecting to pay a little more than at a convenience store. But it's worth it once and a while.

Loving their mexican collection of candy. Sure it's overpriced but one is in a tourist location. They also have a huge selection of soda flavors. If you're in the area and looking to kill some time I definitely recommend coming here.

My girlfriend and I stopped in to check it out. I'd been here before as it's a fun looking place, but she had not. We both goofed off, asked questions and eventually got some gross soda pops lol. She got birthday cake flavored and I got butter flavored. Neither good tasting but fun nonetheless. My only problem is that everything is rather expensive for what it is but it's still fun.

So many cool & interesting things to see! Lots of unusual candies with emphasis on Asian candies. Largest selection of sodas that I've ever seen. A little pricey, but downtown location makes this a neat place to visit with others.

By far one of the best Soda & Candy shops I've ever walked into. Their selections almost seem endless, the staff is always helpful and friendly. If you have adventurous taste buds ask some of the staff what sodas or candies to try out. If you're in town for a shirt time then you must drop by this place! Definitely a sight to appreciate, and alot of great snacks!

They have everything you could ever want to find in the way of candy, sodas and novelty toys. So much fun packed into one place! I bought Violet Crumble and Ice Cubes. Very nice staff as well, even on Christmas Eve.

I love going here whenever I get a craving for something sweet and unique. The fill your own bag candy wall is great! I also like how they havd expanded a bit on inventory with posters, signs, lunchboxes, toys and other things! Would recommend for locals and tourists.

Great novelty candy shop with items from all over the world that you would never see in local stores. They appear to have rotating inventory as well so you will see new items/displays every couple months. Good for small gifts or stocking stuffers during the holidays. Some of the candy, i.e. imported, can be a little pricey however. They also carry an extensive selection of odd-flavored sodas, ranging from pumpkin pie to puke and everything in between. Fun to visit, even if just to browse - you'll likely pick up an item or two while you're there!

I can't believe these candies still exist!!! They have more Taffy than most places that make the darn stuff! Not to mention there were at least 100 different flavors of soda. A few old gag toys as well (snap gum!). If ever there was a place to be named memory lane, this would get my vote.

If you're looking for a unique gift for a friend, or something fun for the kids, this place is full of great options. You can find almost any candy you can imagine here. They also have a wide collection of sodas, ranging from craft root beer to chocolate bacon flavored. Worth stopping in if you got a hankering for Mass quantities of sugar.

Cool place with lots of nostalgic stuff. We found things that we haven't seen since childhood. We always get one of every type of root beer go to a park and do a taste testing party. This is the only place I found that sells so many different cool things from a long time ago

This place is great. Tiramisu Kit Kats, Turkish Delights, and BARF! soda. I even found a rubber chicken key chain to replace the one I had when I was younger ("I'm not being immature, I'm being nostalgic.") Forgot to look for Violet Crumbles but if any place might have them this is the place. Great atmosphere and awesome staff. I'll be back much sooner than I probably want to be!

This place was so great! I'd been wanting to go for awhile but just didn't have the time! It's a well stocked store and they have so much candy and soda. My jaw literally dropped in delight and awe. They had Jolt Cola there! I hadn't had Jolt since high school! It brought back so many memories of really wishing I wasn't in high school, lol. I swear I saw a thing of Big League Chew. I may have been hallucinating, though. The cashier was super nice and my visit definitely put a smile on my face.

The guy there was knowledgeable and helped us pick out some very choice soda. Skip the novelty flavors like the ' butter " and other funky labels, unless you're looking for a white elephant gift. They have so much soda! And reasonable prices. Stop by and grab a drink. It's a blast

A unique store with countless soda flavors with names that either sound delicious, like strawberry shortcake, and flavors I'd never try, like barf and alien poop. There are a few throwbacks like orange and peach Ne-hi. Unique gag style gifts, large selection of Taffy and retro candy like astro pop suckers and also Japanese sweets. It can get a little bit high priced at 2.69 a bottle and high candy prices. Although, this place seems more for the experience of nostalgia and laughs at funny named drinks than for finding low prices. It was a good choice for a hot summer day, and we didn't even have to spend money if we so chose, but who can resist walking out without a bottle of stalinaide or dirt.

It was a great experience and I definitely plan on doing it again! I'm glad that I read the reviews from other people who told me what to expect :-)

They have soda lining the walls and candy dating back from a long time ago and all places around the world! It is my belief that any store with the name rocket in it is pretty much guaranteed to be awesome and I was not let down. Ridiculous variety of sodas and candy. Staff was really helpful with touristy questions too and that's always a huge plus.

Rocket Fizz is such a fun place to go. It has a lot of fun sodas and candies and the Taffy and both candy is the best. I can get a giant bag full of just purple Jolly Ranchers! Score! I like to come here with my friends because candy is very popular with most high schoolers and they have Push Pops with three different flavors and I hate watermelon flavored candy but the whole strawberry blue raspberry is my jam.

Rocket Fizz Portland is pretty cool. There is a lot of selection of sweets and toys from many eras past and present. They also have a fun collection of eclectic drinks with crazy names and flavors like 'vomit' if anyone is feeling adventurous or is used to the flavor after long nights partying. There is some great candy that you haven't seen in a while, but so many great novelty items to touch, taste, and play with. Specialty sodas, masks, crazy signs, etc. Nice way to waste 30 minutes and get some treats for later. Also, near the MAX, so if you are waiting, visit the store to kill time. It's one block away on the North side of Pioneer Square.

This could almost be your one-stop shop for any old-school or hard-to-find soda and candy needs, but they don't have everything. I'd recommend going simply to peruse what they have, but if you have specific requests in mind, I would definitely call ahead to see if they have it. Prices are a little steep as well. I noticed several of their European candies were more than double the price at Cost Plus World Market.

Rocket Fizz is one of the places I take people to if they come to visit me. It is a fun, silly, well stocked, decently priced place to visit with friends or family. It is also fun to get mix-and-match cases of soda with your loved ones to consume while hanging out and trying new, unusual things -OR- for a fun special occasion. Having a Harry Potter party? They have a small section of Harry Potter and UK related things that are fun. Hello Kitty? Yes! Need some stuff to prank your friends? Yes! It is weird, colorful, and lovely there.

From the dopest selection of candy I've ever seen to the worst possible Soda flavors imaginable, this place is a "treat" for shoppers hanging around the Powell's books area. If you are nearby Powell's going here is a no brainier. Now for me no trip to Portland is complete without a trip to Rocket Fizz. If you are in the mood for some Japanese gummy candies, perhaps some inventive and fantastic chocolates, then this place is for you. IF THEY HAVE THE CHOCOLATE COVERED HONEYCOMB IN STOCK GET IT. Quirky candy and soda shop located right where you think you passed all of these types of cool shops. They have literally everything you can think of as a drink. Its awesome and it is terrifying! We each tried one but I would love to hear about the othe flavors..I had the Kim Jong Un " Doomsday Lemonade" very subtle on the lemonade let me tell you. That may be the FIRST time I couldn't finish a drink in a long time. But I will go back and try again! Any suggestions? Overwhelming selection (in a good way, for those who like candy and treats), there are snacks, sodas and sweets from around the world. Some of the items can be a tad pricey, but I'm really not a "sweets" guy. Regardless, I can appreciate what they have going on here.

Whether you‘re just craving something sweet or looking for a fancy gift, this would be a cool store to go to. The number one reason I came here though is the penny pincher/ penny press machine inside. So in case you‘re a collector as well: you‘ll find two saying and depicting a view of PORTLAND and two store-related images. Ask for a shiny Penny and throw in two quarters- that‘s all you need. Prices for sweets etc. are pretty high though, I guess it‘s the location. They also offer some T-Shirts/ themed cotton bags and so on.

Found a soda I drank as a kid in Tinyburg, IA... 35 years ago. Daughter's eyes popped out of her head when she saw that gigantic swirl lollipop (freaking 9" diameter). Son encountered wind-up chattering teeth for the first time & we've had to replace them more times than I can count (kids always break the things they love the most). I'm a fan.
