I had the absolute most amazing experience on Wednesday. I traveled from Michigan to visit, and with the help of Sarah, I ordered a pallet of glass to be shipped back as well as a few other items. I spent the better part of 5 or 6 hours at your store, and all of your staff was magnificently friendly, they even let me use a glass for drinking water. Sarah was so enthusiastic about the experience and she really made it special for me. I honestly hope I have the opportunity to work there one day. Absolute aces, and the glass? Perfection. Thank you for existing!!!

Wonderful company! The people that work here are are terrific! Friendly and helpful. Bullseye is the best glass company in the business! They have top of the line products - consistent and they produce gorgeous pieces - at affordable prices. The other thing I love about Bullseye is their extensive education program - the on-line learning is the only place you can get most of the glass information! How to - and tested schedules etc. that work! A terrific resource and a bargain price! Like $50/year? Bullseye glass is a wonderful family owned business that was compliant with the regulations until more were recently added. They are willing to work with the DEQ and EPA and wasn't given the chance. I am a glass artist for 10 years and have purchased Bullseye glass. A quality and beautiful product. This is my livelihood and my passion. I am extremely sad for all glass manufacturers as I am for the people and environment. Bullseye Glass is the most awesome company in the world. They supply the bulk of glass for artisans who work in stained glass, fused glass and mosaic work. They have the most amazing collections of color and make it easy for a glass artist, like myself, to create works of art. For those who are giving it one star because they "think" Bullseye doesn't care about the environment, you are wrong. When they were first notified of the air quality issues, they voluntarily stopped producing with the metals that were the issue even though they had just passed their last DEQ air quality test. I use Bullseye's resource center in NY and they are wonderful! The glass is beautiful, their tutorials are awesome, and their workshops help me take my art to the next level. I know there is some concern over environmental issues, however if you look deeper into the story several facts become clear: 1) Bullseye was compliant with the regulations until there was a "reinterpretation" by the government agency. Bullseye then stopped production and started meeting the new interpretation. Those stricter regulations are not applied to other larger glass companies like bottle manufacturers, who produce vastly larger amounts of glass and are considerd safe even with larger toxins concentrations in their exhaust. 2) Bullseye is located in a historical manufacturing district where there is most likely old toxins from previous factories. Some of the test samples were taken very close to a construction site that was disturbing soil from old factory sites. 3) Just before the regulations applying to small art glass manufacturers were reinterpreted, a proposal was created to develop the area that Bullseye is located in. An unusual coincidence?

The recent attacks on glass manufacturers is unfair and those who seek to only destroy have risen to the occasion to shame a company that most didn't know existed until an opportunity arose to create some drama out of misheard matters. Bullseye makes fabulous glass. There's a danger for pollutants every day and if you drive on a freeway and take a breath, you're in more danger doing that every day, 5 days a week for 50 years. If you don't want to live near a manufacturing plant, don't buy a house near one. Nothing is completely anti-pollutant and I trust Bullseye to filter their glass making procedures the best they can. Why are people who are leaving reviews give Bullseye one star when they are stating the glass is wonderful and the company is great? I think people don't understand the star system. Five stars are you are HAPPY, and one star is you are unhappy with the product.

Great company. There are other factory near that day care center that are also hurting your children. Bulleye has worked with the state on these issues. Shut down all the plants, then your children will not need to be in day care center. I bet most of the one star reviews, have not even stepped into their doors. This is witch hunt. I had the wonderful opportunity to take a class at the Bullseye Portland location. The instructors and the staff went out of their way to make sure all students were comfortable in their understanding of the techniques being taught and even in the lunch provided. Our tour of the facilities was totally awesome! Watching and participating in the glass casting was an experience I will never forget!!

I started fusing glass in 2010 with Spectrum Glass. I quickly moved to Bullseye because I liked their color palette and hand made textures better for my work. I am an avid environmentalist, have worked for the Sierra Club, helped clean up the LA River, participated in recycle programs wherever I live. You get the picture. When I learned that heavy metals had been found in the moss in Bullseye's neighborhood, I followed the story closely, because clean air comes before art. I learned that Bullseye had been in full compliance with DEQ regulations up to this report, and as soon as they learned of the problem, they voluntarily ceased production of the glasses that were implicated as possible sources of the problem (even though there was no evidence to confirm this suspicion). They constructed a "bag house" (a filter for their furnace) at great expense for a small business and were in the process of finding out from the DEQ if they could restart production when the recent shut down order came from the (totally misinformed IMO) governor of Oregon. I believe Bullseye has been an honorable partner in the search for the causes of heavy metal pollution in Portland and I hope that the city and state will work with them to enable them to stay in business in a way that is healthy for the environment and viable for their bottom line. They are one of only two companies that make the raw materials I use every day. If they are forced out of business by rash policy makers, it will set a terrible precedent for small businesses and will choke an entire field of art (and the businesses who support it).

I have full, and complete faith that Bullseye will do everything that they can to do what they need to do. After all... they and their employees live in Portland as well. I live in Montana, but have traveled many times to attend glass classes in Portland. Between rental cars, hotels, meals at local restaurants, inevitable purchases at Bullseye, and let's not forget Whole Foods, I have spent a significant amount of my Montana cash in Oregon. I live near Kokomo glass and they are having the same problems. All of a sudden it seems these manufactures who have been in place for 40+ years are now the monsters. Kokomo has passed every state and local air quality test since their liscencing, but now pea is looking to shut them down. In the case of bullseye, and I don't want to sound insensitive, but they were in that location when the childcare center decided to open up in that area. It's like the city folk who move to the country and then complain the manure or noises from the farms need to be stopped.

Maybe some of you haters out there should check your facts. Heavy equipment was being used within 25 feet of the air monitor. Heavy equipment uses leaded diesel. This was more than likely the cause of the lead readings picked up by the monitor and not Bullseye Glass. Instead of jumping to conclusions do some investigation and don't assume.
