I had an excellent experience at the Blick store. I came in with a specific project in mind but no deep knowledge of the tools and supplies I needed. One of the associates, who primarily does cartooning, helped educate me on the types of water color paint, paintbrush selection, and even an idea for the execution of my project. I am posting the result in the review! So pleased with the kindness of the associate and the end result of my project.

This location has two entrances, both with interesting signs. You can enter through the Lucky Strike door and take the stairs to the right, or through the doors under the beautiful Blick sign. Inside are sprawling lanes of craft materials and staff who are attentive and a willingness to help. We were there to get materials for our Spotted Lanternfly costumes we were going to wear to Billy Penn trivia. The costumes were a hit and Blick is a big part of that. Will be coming here for any and all projects.

Excellent place the pictures don't do it justice it is huge. Staff were very very helpful. The person at the register tied the whole experience together. They were amazely polite and helpful. I would recommend for just Staff alone but great selection also.

I was a kid in a candy store at Blick(Iol, the check out counter even looks like a candy shop) But most importantly, they had a lot of very kind and very knowledgeable staff! If one person didn't have an answer to your question they found the person who would! I highly recommend them on price point as well.

Love! Blick! The selection of Art supplies are phenomenal. The Store is Always Clean,The Employees are professional and very helpful and it's extremely beneficial! To sign up for the Blick Card Membership! It can save you a lot of money if you have to frequent the Store for supplies. Plus with the Membership some items you purchase are "buy one get one free" I've checked the area and the prices are reasonable if not cheaper than buying from other Stores.

Very helpful staff in the store. Nothing more exciting than all the rainbow colored shelves in an arts and craft store. The store is so clean and well laid out and they have all of the best supplies that an artist or a drafts person could ever need. Also, the staff are generally artists themselves so they know their products. I only wish you could order "online only" things and pick up in store instead of having to pay shipping online

Awesome art store. The only place around me that has individually sorted Sharpies for sale. When you need only one sharpie in one certain tip size, Blick will most likely have it or something better.

Its a good place to go and calmly buy the art products, though little pricey and after pandemic reopening, the store doesn't have all the products stock...just little disappointed...but thats okay...would always recommend to check out for all the artist.

This was my first time in the store but I was surprised with the size & apparent inventory! I went in looking for something that I ended up not being able to find (my fault for not checking online first!), but I spent a good chunk of time just browsing. So I went here for the first time today, and the customer service was absolutely fantastic! Everyone that works there is incredibly kind. The sheer variety of art materials to choose from is tremendous (and maybe a little intimidating!) I was looking for a finisher for a wood craft product I had used ink on, and I'm glad I asked them first instead of taking a wild guess on Amazon! It's also easy to get inspired if you haven't done anything artistic for a while! I would recommend this place to anyone!

There is a great selection of drawing pads, canvases and paints, but not much for most other physical art media. There is only a single rack dedicated to yarn, for instance.

Enormous selection of art supplies and crafting materials. The staff is very helpful and will go out of their way to help you find things and make suggestions. A lot of the products are higher quality than most craft and art stores, so prepare to spend a bit more.

Stopped in here recently with a comprehensive list of painting supplies, most of which are foreign to me, for a class my daughter is taking. After wandering for a few minutes and feeling very overwhelmed, Dane asked if he could help us. We jokingly just handed him the list, and he did not skip a beat and proceeded to do our shopping for us. We could not have been more thankful. He was SO incredibly helpful, and the entire time he was helping us, he did so with a smile and a genuinely friendly and helpful personality. Based on this experience, I would not hesitate to recommend this store to my friends, and I would definitely shop here again.

Love this store. This is a more traditional drafting and art supply store. But also, carrie's arts and crafty stuff too! Great selection of high quality material for the muralist/graffiti arts or sneaker artist. Speaks to the craft of expression. Frames, textile art, markers, brushes. etc. Staff is incredibly attentive and knowledgeable. I've been in twice this week.

Great store, fantastic prices. Keep an eye out for the sales because they make a phenomenal difference in the amount of money you can save. Definitely sign up for the rewards. Staff are very friendly and attentive and very informative. Any section of the store I went to the staff showed how well-versed they are on the vast library of products. Be mindful of the steps going in, they can make carrying bags back out somewhat laborious.

Wish there were more kinds of yarn. For example, they don’t have dk yarn or lightweight yarn. And I rarely find the color I’m looking for. And I wish there were more sizes for crochet hook and knitting needle.

Great place to shop for art supplies in Philly, and they have a lot to choose from. As always, I think Blick is a little too expensive (I'm not a member, so maybe that would help), and would only go here for specialty supplies that I can't find elsewhere. They are decent at having lower priced, lower end items for those of us who don't make a ton of money while creating art.

Blick is perfect for serious artists and beginners alike. Staff is knowledgeable and friendly. They have better selections of art supplies than Michaels or AC Moore, which are geared towards crafting, not art. They also have a ton of great stocking stuffer type gifts for the holidays, which is why I visited today.

The experience was Awesome. I had quick and speedy service at the checkout counter and the Framing Counter. I actually went into the store to purchase a museum board for my print Final Evaluation. The waiting time to get my board cut was a little long. But the quality of the customer service in their employees and their work had a greater impact on my experience at the store.

Great to have a true art supply store in the city with such a large selection. Prices are reasonable and they carry a wide variety of brands, including good student grade products for those of us on a budget. Staff can be overbearing, but that's understandable at a city location.

They have a massive supply of art essentials. You definitely won't find endless rows of silk flowers and wedding decor here. They have a extensive selection of anything you could need for drawing, painting or sketching.you can buy prefabricated canvas or you can make your own stretch canvas... how cool is that?

Very cool underground art store!! I visit every time I'm in the city and pick up a special new journal. The prices are a little out there but it is in center City so that's kind of to be expected. The store is huge and has everything an aspiring artist might need.

Looking for Art supplies, materials? This place have all you need , how many time I was there, I all fine what I needed. The store clean and Organized had great service here. Print photo area, they so professional that will help you out will good deal and the results perfect. I did print out my works over here for my show gallery in town .

Fantastic range of quality products in store and the most personable and helpful staff. I’d lost my receipt and wanted to make an exchange, the staff informed me it wasn’t a problem thanks to their loyalty scheme which brought up the transaction right away. They’ve multiple sites across the country if you’re coming in from abroad like me it’s good to know you can hit up a place that’s likely to have everything you’re looking for... i first came across Blick in California looking for paint for a creative play workshop. They had a whole range of plant based non toxic acrylic style paints in amazing colours that were safe to body paint with. Ticked all my boxes!

Artists paradise. The staff is friendly and helpful . Prices are reasonable. Stock is plentiful and varied. Paints in every medium, pencils, pastels, books, canvases and panels, stretchers, easels, palettes, inks and more. There's an aisle for children. There are souvenirs and stickers. I spent a very happy hour roaming what is one of the largest art supplies stores I ever encountered. Sign up for the Preferred Customer Program which matches sales prices elsewhere and their own online prices. Discounts are available also for students and educators. The store is downstairs in LuckyStrike and they have their own entrance as well as an elevator for handicapped access.

Great supply store with some more niche items than other stores like AC Moore. They also frame canvases if you need that kind of service. The place is generally maintained but I notice it can get dusty at times. This makes my allergies go haywire. Other than that, good place with great employees looking to help. Highly recommend over the AC Moore across the street.

As an artist, this place is a toy store. Very wide selection of all types of art supplies. Staff was very helpful in finding things. The store is in a basement and does have an elevator for those who find stairs difficult. Prices where ok, low on some items, high on others. The selection was the real draw for this store. Wide range of art paper, pastel brands, and canvas sizes I couldn't find elsewhere.

My favorite art supply store. Lots of selection, and the staff are always friendly. Edit: two years later, this is still my favorite art supply shop. They don't have coupons or deep sales too often, but if you compare their everyday prices to craft shops you'll find they're usually the same as what michaels (for example) charges for the same brand on sale This is where you go if you want high quality art supplies, and their employees are artists themselves who are knowledgable about the products.

Blick is an artist's dream store. It's clean, it's large and you can spend hours looking at a variety of art supplies. On my last visit, I was helped by Elizabeth, who, was extremely knowledgeable and helped me to find everything I was looking for. My shopping experience was so easy due to her expertise and pleasantness.

You have a single day, randomly, close an hour early? Your website lists this inconsistency under your regular hours... not good. Best practice is that exceptions go in same section and *above* routine information. I was on your Google listing & your website 4x this week. I was in your store on Saturday, 4 days ago (Jan 2). Yet, I find this out 30 min too late day-of. This was extremely poorly communicated and frustratingly inconsistent. Please note as well your regular closing time of 6 pm kinda screws folks who work during the day. I basically have a 20 min window after taking transit downtown on weekdays after work. I would suggest shifted hours to 10 am – 7 pm. Unless there is a significant 9 – 10 am rush.

Spacious, huge selection of art supplies, helpful staff. Prices can be moderate or expensive depending on what you're looking for, but you get what you pay for so if you want quality...there you go. There are sales, however, so definitely look for them.

I am happy to end my year long boycott for poor management and inattentive or rude treatment by staff. I suspect that the store had a change in management. Great friendly and helpful staff. If you know someone who is a budding art student or has a hand for drawing this is the place to take him or her. My daughter loves it too much. A bit a pricey in some ailes but worth the visit. Everything from around the world is here for the serious artist. Pens and Pencils and Markers Galore. Oh yeah... they give you a discount with a store card... not a bad deal. Got a free Blick t-shirt once. Parking is a gamble in Center City, so watch out for PPA

It's a super store for artists. Great deals for students and does online comparisons to make sure you get the best deal. Occasionally holds artist events and they display local art. They have a ton of art supplies and it looks small from the outside but when you go inside you won't be disappointed. The prices aren't bad either and they do alot of discounts if you buy multiple things.

I used to shop at the Emmaus Blick store 30 years ago when I was a school teacher. As an Artist, I always shopped at Utrecht on Broad. This new location is a massive store that has everything. The prices are good, sometimes better on their website (but if you join their club thing you get the online price in the store if its lower). My only complaint is the poor quality of their store branded paints, both oils and acrylics. I used to always buy Utrecht paints before Blick bought them, I loaded up a couple of months ago on Utrecht and Blick brand oils and acrylics but when they are gone this time, I won't be buying them again. They don't carry nearly the pigment load found in Golden or Gamblin paints. I picked up a few Utrecht branded brushes last time I was there, they work beautifully and seem to be holding up well.

I still don't see something Blicks doesn't have. They have so much great stuff and a bunch of it, too. Parking is at a premium where they are located but that doesn't even matter. I have never gone there and been unable to find EXACTLY what I was looking for. If I am in town, I go in there, just because. And that's with my much loved and brand spanking new AC Moore right across the street from them, which is also irresistible.

This place is a dream come true for artists of every stripe, and mine personally as I had stopped into a Blick's in NYC over 20 years ago, and wanted them to come to Philly, I was so impressed. Paints, pencils, paper, and everything else an artist would need, whether a student or a professional, Blick's has it! They also have an on-site framing department, and they also have workshops for painting, sculpture, etc. that you can actually try out. It's a beautiful place to visit and shop!
