Reviews of Economy Candy

Best candy store in the city. From modern candy, to old school, they have it all. You walk in there saying to yourself you’ll only get a couple of things, and come out with a bag full. I grew up in the 80’s, so I love their nostalgic candies. If you haven’t visited, you should!!!
Carlos Deschamps
Heard about this place on Instagram and I needed to go to exprience this unique candy store! It was all that I was expecting. There's a large variety of candies, both modern and old school! This is a good place to go with friends, family, or even yourself! You won't leave empty handed if you love candy and chocolate. I'm already planning my second trip.

Old fashioned candy store located @ 108 Rivington Street in NYC's Lower East Side
As soon as you get there the throwback sign on top of the store greets you and once you walk inside you know you have been transported to candy paradise.
For some of us who love candy in all shapes and forms and thought knew everything it is to know about sweet confections, beware. You will find here all the all-time-favorites, plus a lot more you have probably never heard of.
Shelves all over the place overflow with wrappers of every color and the smell alone it will be enough for anyone to have a sugar high
Two big bins in front of each side of the entrance windows have loose candy you can buy by the pound and to weigh your purchase they have these old-fashioned scales that look like they are originals from when this place was opened in 1937.
The store is lovely, the clerks are savvy and helpful and the prices are affordable, though you can get carried away here for sure, so be ready to spend a few dollars.
If you like, they can pack your sweet treasures in one of their reusable bags with their logo. They also have t-shirts for sale if you want to keep a reminder of this place once you have run out of candy 😆

Fun place to visit. All kinds of candies at fair price. Very cozy and clean. Small shop full of possibilities. Easy access, fast service once you are able to make your mind! Lol

Candy candy everywhere! Treats galore! This place has so many variety of candy. This place gets busy. But they have great prices. If you need sweets then check this place out in the Lower East Side.
Danielle Rainey
So much great stuff, found Beetlejuice trading cards!? Classic treats to unique modern flavors, a must visit if you're in the area.
Paul Hayes
Great store, lots of candies from different eras. They also have a lot of unique collectibles and hard to items.
Sara Goodwin
I was a kid in a candy store in this candy store. They have imported candy, old fashioned candy, candy from my childhood, bulk candy, current candy… basically, just about any candy you could be looking for, it’s probably here. We spent an hour looking at every candy and spent waaay too much. Don’t forget to look behind the glass, either!! Their chocolates are so so good.
Ashlyn Travis
Love how diverse all of the candy selections were. Lord of foreign candy and choices that aren’t in your “typical” candy shop. I’m a fan of the Hi-Chews, and this shop even had flavors I didn’t know existed! I only wish they had some buckets/barrels/containers to mix and match saltwater taffy instead of jelly beans; they only had huge bulk bags of it which I didn’t need. Do people even eat jelly beans…? Not me!
ArLequin C
Best place to buy candy in NYC bar none! If you're a "baby-boomer" the store is pure nostalgia, from candy cigarettes to balsa gliders and Pez dispensers!
Vivian Lo
I recently visited Economy Candy and was pleasantly surprised. It's a historic shop with lots of variety, and I was overwhelmed by the amount of sweet treats available. I definitely recommend checking out Economy Candy if you're looking for a unique, sugary experience!
H Raphael
Love this place! And it's perfect for Halloween! The chocolate behind the counter is fresh and delicious. They have so many wonderful candies from all over the world and throughout time. It's pure fun. I like the update to the layout too. They still have everything, just more open.
tanyalee rodriguez
Love this place the prices are great and they have a large variety of candy from when I was a kid I wanna go back
Andrea S
So much candy! I was overwhelmed by the choices and variety. International candy was available too! Even if you dont like candy the experience is worth it. And it’s affordable!
Jack Lazard
A spectacular candy store with tons of choices including hard to find items (I saw candies I haven't seen in 40 or more years. And the prices are very reasonable. What a great, nostalgic place.

I know things have to change and I wish the new generation all the best but this is more of a love letter to old Economy Candy.
The best present I ever bought for my grandmother was dried fruit and spice drops for her fruitcakes. She complained about us spending our money on her for everything else but she really appreciated this. The little tubs she got at the Piggly Wiggly were so pricey when you bought enough for all the cakes she made. We got figs, apricots, prunes...everything. She used just a few spice drops in her cakes for color. They really were beautiful in the dark brown cake.
The best recipe I make for parties is a pumpkin seed mole. I always got my pumpkin seed at Economy Candy. They were the best. I know Trader Joe's has been competition but theirs are little dried out. The mole just isn't as flavorful or rich.
I miss those things.
Nicolas Jacobi
They have a lot of european candy. Their variety of Haribo gummies is much bigger than at other stores. Haribo Tropifrutti I had never seen anywhere in America for example. Too bad they do not have any Katjes gummies. I really miss those. I spent over $40 here today.
In Wonder
Huge selection of candy that makes great gifts and the walls are filled with tons of vintage items.
Michael Winfield
My experience at the Economy Candy Store last week was good as usual. The service was as expected as the staff members were very courteous. Whenever I'm in the neighborhood, I try to stop in to satisfy my sweet tooth and sometimes buy candy for family and friends. I usually buy candies by the pound that we grew up on, like Mary Jane's, Bit o Honey, Peanut Chews, Chic o Stick & Twizzlers, just to name a few.
In my opinion, this is the best candy store that I know of in this city, and I recommend it to anyone looking to buy an assortment of candies at a very economical cost.

OMG...I can't think of any candy that they don't have. I even found old trading cards, I was looking for garbage pail kids but didn't find any. But I did find MASH trading cards, I love that show and never knew they had these.
duby149
The staff are very friendly and they have such a nice selection of chocolates and hard candies, visiting this store was so much fun and brought back so many good memories of being a kid and trying to pick out the right candy.
Lily Yee
The locals I know weren't impressed that I went here but as a tourist it was a good stop for souvenirs. Most items could be sourced online for a cheaper price.
There is a good variety of candy , something for everyone. They sold some postcards and magnets.
They sold various chocolate items in a display case. I think it was a half of pound minimum.
Bianca Salazar Galeano
I would definitely come back to this place. The prices are affordable. I love the history of this place. It has character and it's adorable.
Anthony M
One of the true gems of the LES. Awesome selection of new and old candy and staff is really nice. Definitely worth the walk.
GW Tolley
Tootsie Roll is my ALL time favorite. The sweet treat that is a perfect all year round pick me up. It is a challenge to have just one… that is not going to happen! Keep up the wonderful historical tradition of making the World 🌍 a Sweeter place. …
Simon Dent
This shop is incredible - it has everything but retains an old school feel. Lots of weird American candy and sweets
Bigfoodie. littlefoodie
We have seen Economy Candy in serval shows and articles, so we decided one day to check it out and was like the closes to stepping in willy wonky's factory. They had so much candies that we have not ever seen before. We grown put in the 90s so we were surprised to se the cigarette candies that as been discontinued. IN matter of fact they had lots of candies that were discontinued that you can find there. Our favorite candy was the Australian Crystalized ginger. They were sweet and spicy. When you take a bite it was slightly crunchy. We wanted to try a candy that was from another era so we also got the Bit-O-Honey candy that was popular during the 1920s. it was delicious and tasted like a honey taffy. Since we were already eating taffy we also just ordered a wide variety of Taffy as well. Overall, it was a fun experience and recommend to anyone who is in the city.
C Knox
To be honest, I was expecting a bit more based on reviews. This store had a good selection of candy and chocolate but honestly, a lot of stores carry similar. Still glad we came by and the staff was friendly and helpful!
Andre Cirilo
One of my favorite places in NYC... the only place we go for classic candy!
Economy Candy recently celebrated 85 years in business with a wonderful community event, updating my review to add photos from the event.
Carmen
Long lines but if you wait it will get shorter. Great customer service. Found clearance candy basket and got some good deals on candy. Found rare candies like blueberry muffin KitKats to new popular candy like toxic waste slime. They also have trading cards from the 1990s and graded baseball cards. Truly the only place I get and everybody should get their candy.
Sean Kerrigan
Amazing and charmihf little store! Really brought back the childlike wonder I had when first discovering a candy shop. Great international choices, and some super affordable large bags of well known favorites. I definitely know where to go if I want to stock up for halloween!
Madeline Seto
basically a NYC landmark, awesome and epic selection of both old and new candy! they’re starting to stock more foreign candy as well I’ve noticed (i.e., hi chew in chinese/japanese only flavors)
Kyle Weber
What a great store. There is a little bit of a wait to check out but everything else is executed to perfection: selection is incredible (I found five different things I hadn’t seen in years of searching when I came here), prices are very reasonable, and service is friendly. What more is there to say — go here!
Brian Giambalvo
Always love walking into Economy Candy because I know I'll be walking out with great treats!
Tanner
Came across this place just because I was walking around taking photos and my god is this they place for candy.
Chris M
Nostalgia galore! Great selection from candy, including some from my childhood (the 80s). Even bought a pack of baseball cards from 1988. Awesome store
Rose Helmich
This is a really fun place to visit! It's on the Lower East Side. There are tons of different candies to peruse and buy. It takes time to walk thru and the prices aren't too bad. Cute stop!!
Patrick Corbett
Worth the trip and lives up to the hype. You will definitely be able to find both the candy you are too much of as a child and something new to try. Bring the kids.
jess castro
I just received my order. Everything was packaged well and arrived quickly. I had an error on my end with my order, customer service responded quickly and was helpful. I will definitely be ordering from them again.
Gregory Forck
Candy, Candy, Candy! So much candy. Absolutely loved it. They had all the regulars and a ton of Japanese, German and other foreign candies as well. Worth a stop if you have s sweet tooth!
Kevin L
Economy Candy has so much variety. When I was there I felt overwhelmed. As of my writing you cannot shop in store but stop at the front table set up and they will get you what you want. They have mystery bags for 10 dollars and it’s fun to see what’s inside. The Australian Licorice tasted great too. I just wish they had a menu of some kind. So much candy so little time!!
P A
Huge selection. They even stock international candy and chocolate. I specifically love the decade boxes (assorted candy from 1950, 1960, 1970, 1980 and 1990, all available in 2 sizes) and the charming vintage decor and atmosphere. In my opinion this one is a store that is more for adults than kids.
matthew beitel
Great prices, definitely worth a visit. I'm not even all that big into candy but still found several things I love.
Walloping Wallace
Sugar plum chocolates shouldn’t be sold and should be replaced with an actually good brand of chocolate like ritual or honeymoon. The other chocolate brands are fantastic and high quality but the aberration that is sugar plum chocolates shouldn’t be among them.
Christian Stueve
Honesty what more do you need? Candy ✅ nostalgia ✅. Price could be better but welcome to NYC baby. Give this place a visit!
ABoricuaLifeinUSA! “Cars Vlog!!”
Check a video of this place at aboricualifeinusa in youtube and instagram and subscribe.
Lots of candy?!! Mystery bags of candy for 10$. And more candy and toys.. Now they are not letting anyone in, instead you order the candy from the outside. Not bad.
Anica J.
Amazing candy store; I was in awe the moment I stepped in. The prices are unbelievably good and they have a very large selection of sweet treats and nuts (which I completely forgot to photograph.) At the counter they have chocolate covered oreos, s'mores, chocolate covered pretzels and more. They also have pistachios, turkish pistachios, cashews, etc. The staff is friendly and the store is clean and organized. I will definitely be coming here again if I need a candy fix.
One thing I recommend for any chocolate lovers is the "Tony's chocolonely" chocolate. I tasted the tumeric/chai chocolate and it was awesome
karin nekosennin
Candy shop sells over 2000 types of sweets. If you are a sweet tooth this place is for you.
BEGA'S PR
This place will suddenly brings you straight to your childhood in less than a second. The store have all classic and modern candies that you can ask for, candies that will make you remember about them cause you forgot their existence as you grow up. They are different prices, from the economic through the fancy. The only thing I didn't like was the lack of welcoming and interaction between the staff and customers. It's a place where you become a child, when start to remember everything from back then, the joy comes back... Till you talk to the staff. They cut my emotions in seconds. Besides that, everything is awesome.
Marianne Koss
This place is awesome! If you have kids and are looking for something fun to do in the city, come here!! There are also lots of kid-friendly restaurants nearby! I can’t wait to come back to the area just to shop at this candy store again!!
Cheryl Runia
So excited to find strawberry creme savers. Were supposed to only be coming to big lots stores. They don't have them, but economy candy did and they arrived quickly too. Haven't had these in years!
Alex Vega
Love the smell when you get in, great customer service ( the latin girl ).
My only observation is that for a store specializing in candy, everything is very expensive.
Brana Spariosu
This has to be one of the best candy 🍬 store in the world 🌎 Eco Candy has a huge selection of the classic candy that we grew up with. A MUST GO TO! …
Irma MyersDonihoo
Great amazing selection of candy from around the world at rock bottom prices! Forget Dylans Candy Bar, THIS is the place to be!
H Haden
I highly recommend Economy Candy!!!! No one on Earth 🌎 has a better selection. I live in Orlando, FL, and I receive my orders promptly and efficiently, every time!!
Thank You Economy Candy !!!!

I LOVE THIS PLACE ! The staff is nice and there’s a lot of nostalgic items /candy here I love it ! I haven’t been here for years but I’m glad I went back , it still looks the same and has a great variety of things , I honestly just wish they had more space . It’s a big variety of things that I feel need more space especially when there’s a lot of people inside .
Sonia Veras
Classic candies Love it everybody should be going to this place it's like stepping into a time capsule
Thomas Clay
Fell in love when I seen a article in the paper..had to check it myself...definitely wasn't disappointed...a lot of nostalgic things...I was literally a kid in a candy store..pun intended..the staff was very friendly, nice and helpful..more then just candy..seen a bunch of different cards(basketball, baseball, movies,etc)..it was so much stuff I wanted to buy but I was controlling my urges...upset they ran out of t shirts in my size which was surprisingly a good price($10)...u can tell this store is not out for your pockets
Benjamin Taylor
If you're suffering a severe sugar addiction or prepping your doomsday horde to include dessert, I'd recommend checking this place out. They've got individually wrapped candy and bulk candy. They have pistachios too.
Ian Chou
Candy store with a ludicrous amount of candy. They have everything from kids colored goop candy to fancy chocolates and mints. Store definitely gets crowded so be prepared for a bit of a wait to pay. Totally worth the wait tho!
Johan Nilsson
This is the only candystore you need (except BonBon with swedish candy)! A big selection of candy and great prices. They offer candy in big pack and by piece. Forgett about Its Sugar and Dylans candy, they are soo overpriced.
Elvis Jimenez
Very nice selection of candy and memorabilia a pleasure to see candy history brings back memories stepping inside this store
Zerlina Lin
Best place to find candies in bulk or not for a great price. Candies from all kind of decades.
They currently have decade theme goodie box!
Hans Buehler
All kinds of candy from all over the world. They have a great Haribo selection that you can't normally get.
Alisande
I think every piece of candy in the world is in Economy Candy. From classic 70s bubble gum trade cards, Pez, international sweets to chocolate covered everything. I would get a half lb of dark chocolate covered orange peels and Crunchie from UK Cadbury collection. True confectionery love. There is an old world style here that makes you feel like you stepped back in time and when you didn't think about insulin. Something cool and new is a small vinyl record thingy outside. Found a few good jewels in there so thank you Economy Candy!
Will always come back here.
Tony Ruiz
A great place to pick up old brands of candy and jelly rings! This is a very interesting and nostalgic establishment of confectionary miracles, minus Wonka candy! The mix of old bubble gum trading cards and bubble gum cigarettes really took me back. Good stop off when in the Lower East Side.
Alyssa Montgomery
A unique candy store with an enormous number of products. The selection and variety of different candies and goods is astounding. There are bulk bags of candy (multiple pounds), individually portioned bags (by the pound), boxes and packages of candy, and other sentimental souvenirs (collectable cards, etc). There is something for everyone.
Robert Hanlon
This candy store has literally every candy you can think of. Historic stop of the lower East side. They even have pizza candy! Definitely a must stop. Been around since the 1930s.
Elisa G Schneider
Almost every candy you can think of, for great prices. If there is a candy you've been looking for, you'll probably find it here.
Tia Sotiriou
Great range of sweet treats and many from my 1970s British childhood, which are not sold anymore.
Ed Chubin
Fun place to visit and explore candy and kids toys. Relive you childhood, literally like a kid in a candy store.
Felipe Pianta
Great place with amazing variety of candies and cheap prices. They have famous brands and also local ones.
Neil Fox
Wow. One of the greatest candy stores I've ever seen. Incredible selection. It sure how old some of this stuff is.
Randall Cook
Amazing collection of mainstream and obscure candies, all available in large or small quantities. There are name brands, but also more generic items like foil covered chocolate balls. They have collectibles too. I picked up classic Batman and Simpsons trading card packs from 1989 and 1990--unopened!
Theresa Sanicola
I heard about this place when I was watching the news I believe it was the Halloween parade and some people were talking about economy candy I hope to visit this place soon if the city ever gets safe enough again
Maximus Meridius
Gives you the feel of a vintage candy shop East village. If you're looking for obscure candies go here
David Gettinjiggy135
On the lower East side of Manhattan only a block from the J the M or the F train this is the place for candy lovers and Sugar addicts from vintage to new candies they have it
Anna Paula Spinola
Very nice store. It's like a time trip
Lisa Aistrop
Really really great place . Thinking of candy from your child hood and can't seem to find it anywhere, bout bet ya this place has it
Kristie Y
Attention all 90s kids: GO HERE!
This place has candy from every decade from the 1920s all the way til the 2000s but for sure if you grew up in the 90s you will be transported. Get ready to get nostalgic and get candy. I hope this place never closes down. Please go and support them!!! They have been in the LES since 1937.
Alli B
Ordered candy for party favors, prices were great and received it right on time. My new go to candy store, can't wait to visit in person
lorryn preston
I placed an order online for about 20 dollars. Never received my order (which could be an issue with USPS).
I contacted the store regarding this problem and received a very fast and timely response (only a couple hours after I emailed them).
Since I never received my package, I don't know if I'd order again (20 dollars for 3 bags of candy is quite expensive for me, but the cost is largely due to shipping fees) BUT I do think the customer service is faster and more polite than many other businesses.
Rodney Futrell
I really love going there, service is great and the candy selection is off the charts.
Alan Kanen
As full of candy as I have always known it. Always busy, wish the store hours were longer.
Sherina Davis
This place is a must see whether you live in NYC or visiting. This historical store has candy from all over and has nostalgic candy.
Brandon Greene
The variety of candy at this store is amazing. They have candy and goodies that cannot be found anywhere else. Definitely recommend for candy lovers!
Chase B
Adding my voice to the chorus of happy customers. A fun place to visit if you're on the Lower East Side. Check out their website. You can order anything for in store pick up, and they ship GLOBALLY too. Third generation family owned. Super affordable. Floor to ceiling candy. What more is there to say??!!
Jana
Great selection of American candies and classic kid‘s toys!! They also offer candy from Asia and other countries. This place is the place to go if you either have a craving for candies or want to bring home some candies as a souvenir.
Tank Average Gaming
Literally all the candy you can imagine under one roof at reasonable price too ! Does exactly what it says on the tin !
Richard Brett Kelly
One of my favorite stores in NYC. If you cannot find your favorite childhood candy here, it is probably not made anymore. If you can, go during the week so there will not be so many people in the store and you can browse freely.
debbi
Such a cool and iconic shop! My favorites are the candy cigarettes, pop rocks, and wax lips! I love all of it. I never noticed the chocolate counter before. But there it was. Beautiful chocolate madness❤️it’s all there! Licorice bears licorice strings! It was busy in there for the Easter candies. I love this place!
Catherine Noland
Love this place! It’s a go to for a birthday treat outing for our family. You can always find something you love
m m
Prices have gotten a bit too high to live up to their name, but variety is incomparable, and the are a true classic and mainstay in the neighborhood.
Alisha Kelleher-Dollard
This store feels like a hidden gem even though everyone I know seems to know about it. Small store, very hole in the wall but packed to the rafters with every type of candy imaginable, even some harder to find imports. The 99¢ table is great for more common candies, too! I always pick up a few Cadbury bars and vintage trading cards when I'm in the neighborhood. Take caution though, as the tiny store fills up quickly and has of late become more popular with tourists.
Jay R
For those hard to find candies from your childhood.
Also very large Pez collection.
fefe lafunk
It was sooo awesome. Took my son today for his 19th Bday. I was surprised that it was so nostalgic and amazing.
Robin Adler
It was full of candy, but I had hoped for more. The description online of candy from each decade was not a bunch of candy to choose from, but pre-chosen candies in a tub. I was slightly disappointed. But I picked up a few things which were nostalgic.
Erika Torres
They didn't have what the website claimed, but I still found lovely chocolates for Valentines
Loren Hicks
Literal TONS of classic candy to relive your childhood. Not to mention, there's also a bunch from interesting corners of the earth and decades past so you can relive someone else's.
Bernie b20
Always love this place been going there since young child candy heaven 🤓😁😂🤣 …
Alternative Mindz
This is a classic store. Lots of great candy and is photography friendly
Rosanne B
Did not make a purchase but went with family and the candy selection was extremely extensive and created a great sense of nostalgia for the parents and young adults. There also appears to have been a limited selection of collectible cards (celebrities, bands, etc.) as well.
James Cadell
Relive your childhood with sugar! It was fun to see candies that I haven't seen in years!
Ilona Biro
Whenever I visit NYC I pop into Economy Candy where my kids and I spent an afternoon (well most of it), many years ago. It is a treasure trove of popular and all-but-forgotten candy brands, so if you are searching for a childhood favourite you're sure to find it here!
Alessandro Frati
If you're a sugar person this might be a good place away from a chain store. However, I was expecting more selection of European candies.
H.M Les
One of the original Candy stores, with all kinds of classic candy, it don't come any better , great place.
Juicy Payne
This is THE CANDY STORE you want to go to just because it takes you back to your childhood days. Grabbed some Garbage Paul Kids posters and Flakes...thank you
Amanda Martin
Can I just say... candy wonderland.
It is as much of an attraction as it is a candy store. My only complaint is that they do not have an allergen-free section
Diane D
I'm already planning my next visit back to Economy Candy! I knew this would happen!🍭🍬🍫 …
Nick Borowitz
Great candy store. They will have anything you’re looking for.
Victor Moon
Great variety of good candy and reasonable pricing
Robert Rodriguez
Really crowded, leaving you with little walking space. The candy choices are nice enough but again, due to the small enclosure, someone like myself doesn't really feel like exploring the entirety of the store when you have to say excuses me over a dozen times in less than a minute. You can't really explore the store when you feel this overwhelming sense of being rushed and watched. Justifiably so. I understood it. The place is so small and crammed that any source of loss prevention would have to be on high. Nevertheless, as a consumer, it is very uncomfortable knowing you're being watched so intensely. Security cameras are one thing, but when the watcher is only several feet from you, it can be off-putting. Which takes from one's ability to really enjoy the store.
Harvey Wu
I found this one of a kind candy store, they've almost everything, they have lots of surprised vintage collection item for sell too. Staffs are friendly. 👍 …
Roosevelt Archer
An amazing store in it you will relive your childhood memories, candy 🍬 and cavities …
Shevona Taylor
I love the candy my granddaughter had a ball, but I was disappointed because I was so excited to see toys I grew up with and was now able to buy for my granddaughter so she could have the same experience, but when I got home 2 of the toys didn't work even after I put brand new batteries in one of them, so I was pretty bummed about that. But other then that it was a cool experience for my granddaughter
Cindy Heise
Cool store with some vintage and another of variety of sweets.
Jeff Minsky
Throwback to old NY. You'll feel like a kid in a candy store. Literally. Lots of kosher options and great selection of dried.fruit as well. A must stop if you are on the Lower East Side.
Ernie Searle
I so wanted to be raving about Economy Candy, BUT first, their prices are NOT what I would call "economy", $10 and more per lb. Then, their selection is NOT what it used to be. I was looking for multiple flavors of LifeSavers™, but they only had "5-Flavor®", which you can get in most pharmacies, supermarkets, even 99-cent stores. Before they closed for Covid, I would go a few times a year, but I have little incentive to return.
Dennis Bennett
If you are looking for foreign, rare, or old-fashioned candy (as well as classics), this is THE place. From British imports to Turkish Delight to fresh fudge, this place has you covered! If you are in the area, stopping here is a must.
David Croft
I'm a very pleased first-time customer. The product was fresh and arrived sooner than expected. I won't hesitate to refer and highly recommend Economy Candy to my family and friends. We're life long fans of Haribo. I signed up for shipping/tracking information, thanks for offering that feature. Thank you for the professional and customer friendly service.
Kayla Leong
This is a fantastically well-stocked store and buying from here supports a small and local business!
Mary Cerrone
Some much candy from classic to modern day candy. The store is clean with help quickly available if you need. The price are good. They are not open late. Great place for candy and the candy is fresh.
Malik Cruz
They got it all from classic to new perfect for parties since they also have bulk candy as well but if you have a hard to find favorite or something you haven't seen in years this is a good place to check
Cédric
Amazing candies shop 🤩 …
Chan Woo Park
They seem to have candies from all over the world. So many different kinds!
Melissa Karp
So much candy in a small space - everything was fantastic from the hand dipped chocolates to novelties, imported candy, and oldies but goodies. Highly recommended to stop by for something sweet and a bit of nostalgia.
Andy Webb
So much fun! But we spent more than we intended 😀 …
tony hamilton
Fun place! Lots and lots of candy you can't find other places
BriceLynn
Economy candy is a great place to visit for any candy lover. They have a wide selection of candies including candies from 80s and 90s.

Iconic candy store with all your favorite childhood treats. Can’t say enough good things about this place!
Paul Lowth
Great place with loads of candy from different eras.
Ivan Paredes
If you ever want to find candies you used to eat as a kid and can't find anymore, visit this store and you will find it here. Every candy, every chocolate, every toy you remember is here too. You can even buy gumball machines and Bennie Babies. Even the lunchbox you had as a child. All sorts of nuts by the pound are available here. Their friendly staff will help you find whatever you're looking for. You will not find another store like this one. Enjoy. Ivan Paredes.
Ken Murphy
Great selection, definitely more for the hardcore candy seeker than the simpler, fun experience like Dylan's. Candies and chocolate from all parts and eras - floor to ceiling yumminess! Prices are more focused on the product than for the presentation which is good too!
Tray Digital
If you have a love for Candy.... This is definitely the place to shop....
Great customer service as well
Susan H
Lots to choose from. We were able to find candies we cant find in our home area. Just fun to look around and pick what you want. Thanks for being open Black Friday!!
vilma madera
My friend was looking for Marry Janes all over and I told her I would get them for her she wouldn't belive that I would find them so i when stray to Economy Candy and Jackpot 😀😍 you can find must of the old fashion candy you used to buy at school too bad they didn't have the Long Boy Coconut candy …
Linda Delgado
Found candies I haven't seen in years
Briana and Amy Graham-Myers
Very fun store with lots of nostalgic candies and treats. It’s a fun place to explore.
Laurel Rudolph
I found the candy I wanted to get as a Christmas present for my daughter here. I understood that I ordered late and their normal shipping times would have the candy delivered after the holiday. Even though they were hit with a huge snow storm, I got a notice that the candy was shipped and will be here two days before Christmas. I know who I'll go to when I need candy again!
mark nguyen
Saw this store on CBS’Sunday Morning show 2/13/2022. Reading through the reviews and someone noted this place was not out for your pockets so that’s good. More than one reviews noted the attitude of the staff could be a hit or miss so that’s unfortunate (everyone has a bad day but it sounded more commonplace than that); will definitively visit the next time we visit NYC to “check out” this stereotyped coldness and indifference NYC attitude :-) From Texas with love.
hallowchild liz
So many fun candies and the staff is nice.
Conrad O.
I was walking through the neighborhood, and came across this Gem! This place had all the Candies, little toys, and Movie and/Garbage Pail Kids Cards I remembered as a kid,g up in the 80's. With the prices being so good, I couldn't help but indulge and buy a few items. I was pleasantly surprised the candies and bubblegum we're very fresh tasting. I'll definitely be swinging by again next time I'm in this part of the neighborhood.
Mimi Burnham
Super fresh candy, & so many choices! Their crafted chocolates are incredibly delicious with speedy shipment and very friendly customer service.
Highly recommend- this business and store are iconic in NYC with a long history in downtown Manhattan.
Support Small Business!
Nick L
Best candy store around they have candy you don't see in regular store's.
Buddy Lee
Simply the best candy store in the entire world. They have everything and everything.
Scott Lissner
If you love candy and you love low prices.. this is the place to come.
They have an abundant of candy from all over the world with candy piled from the floor to the ceiling.
Staff super friendly and very helpful.
I did have a piece of candy on one visit that was bad. When I returned about a month later, i mentioned it to them and without a second thought they gave me a complimentary candy bar as a replacement.
In all, well worth the visit in you are in the east village
Leroy C
Huge assortment of candies from all over the world. Best you can find anywhere for buying in bulk. This is the wonderland of candy. You will be amazed at what they have there. I'm going for my second trip within a week. Yummy yummy!
Joan G
They have such a large variety of candy
Caitlin Enc
As a vegetarian I would have loved to see gummies without gelatin, but maybe I just didn't find them. Still an awesome candy store with lots of options for vegetarians
Lordmegatron 84
Good place for odd and old time candy.
Nikki Hafliger
I just received my first order from Economy Candy and I'm thrilled with it! It was well packaged and was shipped quicker than I expected. I love trying candies from other countries, and Economy Candy allows me to do that at an affordable price. I will definitely order again!
DONTSLEEP99
It brought me back to when I was a kid going to the penny candy store.
Justin Sawadogo
It's the best place if you're looking for all kinds of candy , the price are OK and the service are good.
Renee Davis
I ordered from them for my first time. I'm always skeptical placing orders from a place I've never done business with before.
Website was simple to use and my order arrived 6 days after placing it- from New York to Colorado.
I will definitely be buying from Economy Candy again, they satisfied my craving!!
Khalid Elachi
Great place for all your favorite vintage candies and chocolates that are hard to find. Large selection of well known and more unique sweets. Great bulk section with licorice and mints. A huge section of jelly beans in the back.
Staff is helpful and friendly. Make sure you take your time - there are great finds throughout the store and all at an affordable price points. Store can. Get packed on the weekends.
Edie Machinist
Economy is a must-visit! The best candy shop in the city and friendly, knowledgeable owners and staff. They carry hard to find items and novelty pieces from childhood. They have a very user-friendly website as well!
Andy Van Dinh
Kind of a magical place. Staff is friendly. An insane variety of candy. I come here to discover new candies I've never heard before. It's overloaded with candy. They also have the classics and will def have what you are craving. Best to bring cash is you don't want to spend $10 for the card minimum. It's def worth a visit at least once
S Berg
Economy Candy is always on my list of must-visit places whenever I come to NYC. It's a great place to get your favorite treat and to rediscover your childhood favorites too! And it's a great place to pick up some souvenirs for friends!
Prices are reasonable, everyone who works there is friendly and even though they have something like 5,000 different types of candy, they know where each one is in the store!
Oster Bryan
Classic NYC, even if you don't eat candy, this is a must visit.
Charlotte Martin
A really great place to find gifts for friends! And to explore yourself-- any kind of candy you want, it's here (mostly American with some British/European candy mixed in too). Old stuff, things in bulk, brands that are hard to find. It's also just a fun place to look around, the towering shelves are always teeming with new items I've never seen and I feel like a child wandering around the place. Really great if you're looking for a little something unique or special for someone.
Zippaty Jr
Great store with tons of different candy, sweets, chocolate and memorabilia. The staff were extremely helpful and the store was well organized and clean.
We picked up many treats that are not available at your regular convenience or grocery store and many that are "retired".
With the approval of the store manager/owner, we were able to open closed packages of products that were not on display. Prices were very reasonable and we will definitely be back for more treats!
Miriam Zaback
Cool blast from the past. Small store though.
N P
Everything antique with multitudes of candy from the good old days. If you want zero calories this is not the place you sugar hating monster. Orders online.
Oni Folayan
I'm like a kid in This candy shop! Great variety, excellent prices, old school candy from way back when I was a child. I don't know Who was more excited when we entered the store, me or my son, we each took a basket and Went to town, it's my Favorite shop.
Chassidy
Awesome spot. Wall to wall candy. The staff was so helpful and actually walked me around assisting me in finding goodies that went with my color scheme. This place is super unique in the fact you aren't forced to buy bulk if that isnt what you want. You get to weigh the candy to fit the specifics of what you need ..big or small. Prices were insanely low. I will definitely be back.
L Wolfe
Great old time candy store
Huge selection of everything
Happy to find broadway strawberry rolls at a decent price! Going back again today
Michel Noel
They have a great selection of nostalgic and foreign candy. It feels like they could use some better organizational skills though. Also don't plan on finding too many popular domestic candies like you find at the nearest grocery store.
Steve McCarron
Antiques are great, and I think they have candy.
Daniel Adams
I was here as a part of the 3-Hour Lower East Side Walking and Food Tasting Tour (Hi, Nice guy tours). It woke up my inner child, so I can’t be more happy to pay them a visit as soon as all of this is over!
I’m sure Willy Wonka would be proud to run such a place. Well stocked shelves with all sorts of sweets. Some of them weren’t even a part of my imagination. Stuff from all over the world. And the cool thing is that this place has a very rich history. I can’t even imagine that this started as a shoe and hat repair shop with a pushcart that sold candy (cool way to advertise, hahaha).
I really love such places, that are still ran by the same family since they are open. It adds so much authenticity and charm to them and their good.
Speaking about the goods – I felt like I’m ten years old once again. Chocolate, jelly beans, gummies, gum, dried fruit, imported stuff from around the world, Economy brand items (dark chocolate with sea salt – yay!). They had some decade mixes with candy from all generations (bought one from the 80s ). I even got myself a very cool t-shirt.
Five stars for this sweets heaven!
cora Davis Boobillz
My first time here but definitely not my last for sure
Ece Ozkan
Infinity variety of candies! Though it's a bit pricey, it's worth the trip! You'll be amazed by the selection, plus they are one of the few stores that sell Leone candies (absinthe flavoured one being my favourite) 🍬🍬🍬 …
A A
Economy Candy is located near the Grand St. subway station, and is super easy to find! They have tons of candy, including some candies from Europe and (East) Asia. They also have a lot of candy, old and new, and even have decade boxes of popular candy from those decades!
Most of their prices are reasonable- they have a large selection of popular candy bars available for $1 each (mostly American, but I spied a few European ones as well), and they have by-the-pound candies.
Some of the foreign candy can be found cheaper elsewhere (namely in ethnic stores), but Economy Candy is convenient enough that you may not wish to look elsewhere.
Though, try not to bring any large items when you come to visit! The store is small, and many of the aisles are quite narrow
Joseph Greenberg
Decades of NYC history in this store. Floor to ceiling candy, of all types. Domestic and imported, kosher and non-kosher. It's a diabetic coma just walking in. You may never have had fresh candy before - this place sells and moves through a ton of candy, so it actually tastes better coming from here. It's worth a visit.
Allen
Family owned business since the 1930s. I would consider this almost a historical landmark in the lower east side, especially with the current gentrifying climate.
Lots of old fashioned candy and new stuff to fill any inner child's dream. There are just so many unique things one could spend hours shopping in this little store. A must visit if you're in the area, truly one of a one of a kind place!
Be careful though! Their wall to wall, floor to ceiling amounts of candy might just give you diabetes the moment you walk in! Just kidding!
Sara Emily
Best candy store in nyc
ron
Take a trip down memory lane to the canisters of our childhoods. Willi Wonka come alive. Open the doors and the aroma transports you to Nirvana.
mitruesenseof self
The owners have created an EXCEPTIONAL opportunity to experience what it must have felt like to be Charlie in "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory..."
John Ong
I was surprised at how much variety they have inside. Not just all - time, mass produced favorites like Warheads or Hershey's, they have a lot of European sweets as well as variety boxes packs.
Oftentimes, you don't see homemade Halvah being in sold, this place does though. I look forward to my next visit.
Steven Lee
Feel like a kid again.
Classic candy brands and new ones I've never heard of.
Prices are very affordable and you will leave happy, giddy, and maybe a little high on sugar if you had a couple while waiting in line.
Great place to fill a goody bag, gift bag or to buy candy in bulk for wedding favors and birthday parties.
Staff is wonderfully helpful and attentive.
Shannon Stram
Great service always, we have been dealing with Economy Candy for 6 years, never had an issue. Candy is always fresh, delivered in a timely matter. We love that they have Retro Candy too 🥰😊 …
Richard Loperena
Best variety of Candy in the city !
Retro candy..they got it !
Hard to find chocolate bars..they have it too ! Great fun shopping in there.
Jelena Tvrtkovic
Awesome place! Soo many great candys, and is not expensive! Recommend!
Coach Mitchell H.
Whatever kind of childhood you had one this is for sure, you loved candy! When I walked into the door I immediately reflected on my childhood when I saw candies I haven't seen in decades like Charleston chew, Alexander the Grape, Lemon heads, Boston Baked Beans, Now and Laters etc.
The prices are economically friendly. My only distaste is the place is too small where you can barely move or are afraid you might bump into something and turn it over. Other than that it's a great place to check out and bring some young ones with you.
Irene yacoub
Best place to find all your candy! they have old & new brands. They sell by the pound if needed. The Staff is very helpful, they recommend great ideas especially when on a budget!! you must try the fudge-so delicious!!
Chef Nimmo
Excellent candy store to grab everything at once, the $1 table is awesome to load up a basket of all your old school and new school faves, abba zabba, nerds, pay day’s, Hershey’s, etc... nice staff that loved having a little kid in the candy store. Got a great balloon powered car for my little man, and he was given a free lollipop from the friendly staff, even after he tried to give it back to them. If you can, I’ll go during the week as the weekends get busy.
Laís Granemann
It's a small shop with a wide variety of candies. Their prices are good and you'll see products that aren't easy to find elsewhere. I went there with a friend looking for gifts. There were great options for kids and for adults. They also carry NYC themed chocolates and candy.
Darryl Jones
We try to visit Economy Candy every time we're in New York. Your kids will be amazed and you will feel like a kid again too as you browse the seemingly endless selection of candy. If there's something special you're looking for, don't hesitate to ask for assistance. Some candies are seasonal and they'll put you on a list to contact you when the seasonal candy arrives.
Frankie singh
Classic and always wonderful. They have all the nostalgic candy from when you were a kid. They just don't make places like this anymore and having it still in existance and operating as a candy store is a gift.
Amy Macedo
If you love candy, this is a must! Floor to ceiling candy, every square inch of is packed! There are choices from everywhere, and they have all the classic favorites. There are chocolates from Europe and a great selection of dried fruits. Dried strawberries taste like candy, themselves!
Tal Atlas
The candy is not as exotic as I’d like but it’s a good selection and great people work there.
Elise Brouwers
Amazing candy shop, with international candy (pocky, different flavors of kitkat, Tony's Chocolonely). You can also buy boxes of candy, and they have amazing customer service.
Jax Tran
They have a giant selection of candies, most of them being from Europe. Also they have some toys as well. I always have a good experience here, and the staff is really accommodating and friendly. One of my favorite candy stores in NYC.
Christopher Borden
I was born and raised in this neighborhood, and this is probably the best place around! If your looking for a piece of nostalgia, this is your place. Find anything from your childhood. Everything you could need for your sweet tooth, They have it here! I'm glad the neighborhood still has this place. The staff is always helpful and pleasant. Keep up the good work here! I will continue to come here often and highly recommend!
Come unwrap a piece of your own history with your kids, your girlfriend, your wife. Heck, bring down the whole family.
Betsy Van Die
This is a touristy store - a lot of fun visually, but the prices have increased considerably since he last time I was here. The website said they still sold Neccos, but alas, there were none in the shop. I actually walked out this time without buying anything - that's a first for me. Always a delight to browse because of all the cool displays, but no bargains anymore!
Hen House Productions
One of a kind place. A little awkward to find parking but if you’re looking for any kind of candy this is definitely your Mecca. Nice people, easy to find what you’re looking for even during Covid. Definitely a great find
Mrs. Mitzi Parker
This is my favorite candy store. I drive from NJ just to go here. It has alllll the nostalgic candy. Its a stroll down Memory lane. I would definitely recommend everyone take a least one trip to the store! It's worth it!
Jeffrey Liss
Pretty much ANY candy you can imagine can be found here including many of your vintage favorites! Prices are reasonable.
Katalena Mermelstein-Knox
It looks like they have a great selection, and I know they're prices are better than candy warehouses on line, especially if you live in New York, because shipping costs are gonna kill you when it comes to buying candy in bulk. Five pounds of jelly beans is still five pounds you have to ship. The staff seemed a little unfriendly, kinda like I was in the way of their daily chores, but it is typical of very well established older stores in Manhattan.
Michael Rodd
This is a true New York institution, located in the lower East side. Candy from all regions of the world and all types of candy from the last forty years. Lots of nostalgic items garbage pail kids, baseball cards, comic books. Each time I have gone inside I have discovered something new.
Resident or tourist stop by and enjoy an hour revisiting your childhood
Basil Moore
Economy Candy was very good. They sell very nice T-Shirts and candy. I could even get an old Charleston Chew that I have not seen anywhere! They sell a wide variety of candy. They sell weird candies and normal candies that you can find anywhere. The people that work at the counters are not rude. They are not talkative though. A lot of people go here, so it is loud. Economy Candy does not only sell candy. They also sell toys and stuff like that. That stuff is in the front of the big shop.
Blossom Brown
I have been going in here way too often, because it's AMAZING! If you're an adult, you will find something so nostalgic here, and if you are a child, welcome to the greatest store ever!
Joe Hanna
Has every conceivable American candy ever made. For older folks, it's a delight to see candy that you haven't seen since you were a child. Store is usually very well patronized. The staff are a joy to deal with there.
Kanisorn Sinprasert
best candy offerings in person and possibly online
Lisa
Best selection of candy ever! They have all the candy you forgot existed, as well as fudge, nuts, chocolate covered pretzels and other fun snacks. They have the best price for allsorts licorice which I use as colorful decorations in glass jars to brighten up my apartment, and feed hungry guests. Definitely worth stopping for, you'll walk out happy!
Phil Gorski
Incredibly well stocked candy emporium in Manhattan! Many vintage and hard to find candies to be found. I was so happy to find Zagnut bars! A real rarity in the northeast. A must go if you have a penchant for sweets!
Joe Julian
they have a lot of cool vintage stuff!
Adefolahan Oshinloye
The owner gave me a great deal on the candy I bought here. A bit disappointed there wasn't a wider range of Skittles here though. Everyone knows America has the flavours we all want but can't get at home. That being said, if you're looking for Hershey's this is your spot. Individual packets of M&Ms too. It's worth the journey to Lower Manhattan, totally recommend.
Karen Lichtblau
Excellent assortment of loose candy, dried fruit and vintage brands as well as vintage dispenser machines.Kosher goodies well represented, too. Chocolate covered macaroons for Passover season are delicious. Try the chocolate-covered Graham crackers the rest of the year. Always some kind of deal available on bar chocolate but otherwise understand that it's not necessarily so economical
R.
This is the last authentic candy store left in New York. It's definitely worth a visit just for the Lower East Side neighborhood, but odds are you'll spot ten or twelve candies you remember from childhood. Prices are great, stock is extensive, ambiance is fabulously retro and nostalgic. If you have even the slightest bit of inner child, make this a must-see on your list.
Nic Garcia
this place is heaven. it smells like sugar and candy as soon as you walk in, and there are floor to ceiling shelves of candy surrounding you on all sides. they have just about anything you can think of, including imported candies. they also sell bulk and loose mixed candy. insanely affordable prices. please never change.
Sarah Akers
So much fun! Well worth the stop.
Hilda Torres
Doing my lunch I will stop by and buy my favorite candies
Ruwan J.
the largest variety of candy in NYC calls Economy Candy home. this family-run candy shop opened its doors in the 30s and has been serving locals and out-of-towners with smiles, fun, and most importantly, all types of sugary treats ever since.
Economy Candy interior is crammed with all kinds of candy from floor to ceiling. its tight aisles force you to take in eyefuls of all the candies your mom would never let you have. the interior is quite large and no space is wasted from being adorned with candy or some novelty pop culture item. despite being packed with shelves, racks, etc. of sweet sweet calories...the store is very clean and well-maintained. the old-school Lower East Side charm resonates throughout the space.
the store carries 2000-3000 different kinds of treats, so take your time here. Economy Candy is a great place to take out-of-town family and friends to, a fun pitstop for a first date if you're walking around the LES, a great gift buying spot if you are looking to personalize a gift to a bff, or an oasis when you are jonesing for some chocolate. there's so much to buy here that it takes multiple trips to really take it all in via sight and mouth!
(SPOILER ALERT: all the candy is priced fairly. this store lives up to its name.)
my most recent discovery is TONY CHOCOLONELY candy bars which are FREAKING FANTASTIC. creamy milk chocolate, dark savory bitter chocolate, smooth chocolate with caramel pieces, and more. excellent chocolate at non-gourmet prices. AAAAND Tony Chocolonely produces its candy bars via ethical practices from beginning to end!
Economy Candy is more than a store or an experience...it's in fact "a time machine" through many different decades of childhood from the 50s all the way up to the 90s. there's something for everyone here unless you don't like candy aka don't have a soul. lol
don't be shy. talk the staff. they are superfriendly and want to help you find those lost holy grails of candy from your childhood. just ask. ALSO "hello" and"thank you" go a long way here--just saying.
drops mic cuz i got sweeeeeeeet emotions
Andrew
FIRST OF ALL, there wasn't an option to put 1,000 stars, so I had to settle with 5. This store is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G, emphasis on the ZING! They literally had every kind of candy that you could possibly want, from Harry Potter Chocolate Frogs to FRESH Nerds Rope -- DO YOU EVEN KNOW HOW HARD THAT IS TO FIND IN NEW YORK CITY?? Very. I managed to walk out with $30 worth of candy, and only stopped because I don't get paid enough to spend thousands of dollars in that store. The staff are all super helpful and friendly and it was fun to view all the different kinds of candy. SECOND OF ALL, I would definitely go again just to try the different kinds of candy that I wasn't able to fit in my satchel. A very fun, family-friendly experience for anyone from ages 0 - 100+. Thank you Economy Candy!!!!!
Zayra Correa
They have a giant selection of candy. I usually only get chocolate covered gummy bears so I can't speak for anything else, but those are amazing. Prices aren't too bad and the line moves quickly.
Lizz Lesso
Very happy with my order. Ordered several pounds of candy for a candy bar. Prices were great, order arrived packaged nicely, no issues with melting on one of the hottest days of the year. Would definitely order from here again.
C B
Cramped for space but it's only because of the huge selection of candies. They have things from different places in the world, a good amount of bulk items including jelly beans, chocolates, and more, kosher things, gifty things, novelty stuff, and classic candy bars. Always love going here and spending all the money I have on me because I have no self control
NANCY OCONNELL
Old school candy store that's been open since about 1936. Every kind of candy you could want! Family owned. Small store with a big selection! Been going since I was a little kid.
Linda Liang
I went there on the weekend, and the store is open to the general public. There are a lot of snacks to choose from ranging from candy to nuts to dried fruits, etc. The goods are fresh!
Lisa Bredbenner
Very nostalgic. A lot of fun.
Rohit Mankotia
One of a kind of candy store. They have all the candies and dry nuts
Bernard K
This place is an absolute classic. I love coming here. So much candy and chocolate selections. What I love most is that the Haribo and Ritter are actually imported from Germany. This is rare to find in the US! This attention to detail separates this shop from the rest...granted I don't know another place that has so many choices.
Amanda Souders
Every kind of candy you can think of is here! And the prices are great.
Mrugank Dake
Tons of candies, chocolates and merchandise. Special offers for this weekend, so go grab freebies and explore the store. The candy explosion is just mind blowing!
Adam Herbst
Every candy that you remember from your 70s and 80s childhood - well, at least mind. They also have lots of fancier candies that you purchase by 1/4 or 1/2 pound. I go with my kids whenever I'm in the neighborhood and we never walk without happily spending about $50 - but totally worth it.
I'd encourage anyone walking around this area to go and enjoy!
Ron Troy
If you like candy, it's a must stop in the Lower East Side. Huge variety plus things like fresh chocolate covered pretzels. I had the dark chocolate version. Family owned since 1930s.
Max Herman
Easily one of the best candy stores in the world. 80s theme songs play in the background. Plenty of candy to be offered (I'm from Canada, so I got a few candies you can't get over there). Vintage toys on display. Need I say more?
Phil Mizzi
A really really fun visit!!! Literally something for everyone. Lots of nostalgia, with candy that had faded into the mists of childhood right in front of you again. Lots and lots and lots of bulk items available, the most notable of which were the slabs of fresh Halva made in Brooklyn. A unique New York City experience well worth the walk over from the subway.
Yancy Smith
This place is fun, they have everything and the prices are very reasonable. I will say that they do need to do a better job handling rushes. You shouldn't have one person at the front acting as a cashier while also fielding orders. Especially when there is a line and there seems to be several barely occupied employees standing around.
Will Tang
I like candy. This place has candy. I come here when I can. Love yourself and eat candy!
Carina Law
They basically have everything, and some things that you didn't know were a thing. Like Hazelnut Spread M&Ms which are incredibly delicious. Everything is super affordable and there's bulk options as well. It's one of my favorite places in the city.
Richard Fahrer
It's more than just a candy shop, it's a neighborhood staple, an international mecca of confectionery and a wonderful store full of delicious delight. If your in the area I would highly recommend you stop by. Simply put, they have something for everyone.
Brian Williams
This is an old fashioned candy store filled with vintage brand/ hard to find candy. If they do not have it then it is probably not made anymore. Great prices as well. Takes cards or cash. $10min for cards
Lucius Mac
Can somebody pinch me and help me come back to the reality of not spending gobs of money at this candy wonderland. No wonder the baby boomers flock here....all the candy we used to eat is probably on their shelves. Just kindly ask the tourists to move over as you reach for a candy bar from the 50's.
Allen Hentscher
SO MUCH CANDY! If you can't find it here you don't need it. Lots of classic and retro candy. Lots of bulk candy that was presented bagged or you could bag some yourself. Large selection of bulk nuts also. Staff was friendly and helped us find everything we needed.
Don Fishy
I'm a candy freak....love my candy....saw this place on TV...right away I checked their website....hope to order soon...they have everything....
Austin Spray-Rode
Best place for fresh made bulk candy and old school favorites you can't find anywhere else. And all the decor is for sale as well we bought some candy and a vintage detective batman tin sign which was legendary.
Margarita Torres
They have a large selection of candies, nuts and I just love the place.
Flayva
As a child my Mother used to take my sister and I to this Wonderland of Candy and the Smell takes me back to that day and age when long ago...the best place to be on the Lower East Side and many of us raised here will definitely say the same, ECONOMY CANDY ROCKS, your tummy will smile for days!!!
Carmelo Adorno
Old school candy place. Been there many times. This place is a landmark and staple of the lower East Side. Highly recommend that store
Simon McLane
I always love coming here when in NYC. It is a tiny shop filled from floor to ceiling with candy of all kinds and countries. Somethings maybe just a touch more expensive compared to what you might find online but most things are cheaper than what you would find in another store (if you could find it in another story). This is great stop if you like candy or are just looking for a small interesting store to wander around in.
Pamela Crespo
My friend and I love this store,it reminds me of Sammy Davis' song The Candy Man!😄 …
Jake Fleischmann
Great selection of candies both old and new. Wonderful helpful staff and well organized shelves. Prices are all over the place some things are way cheaper than elsewhere some are incredibly expensive.
John Laskaris
Best selection of candy
Rosie Rose
This place is the best and I only discovered it by accident. Every form of candy you could think ok. Knowledgable and courteous staff. I am planning a candy table for a sweet 16 and got everything in one vista and less than 1 hour. Not forgetting the in-store music guys the soundtrack from Dallas, different strokes. The best
S7
An enormous candy store with just about every type of confection you can imagine--even the brands you thought were long gone. You'll be overwhelmed by the display. Staff is friendly and helpful but parking is difficult to find.
D. K.
Doesn't matter is you're 6 or 60 this place will warm your heart 💓. Looking at the selection here will flood your mind with childhood memories. Easy to find a 3 generation family each very excited by what they find. Luckily since I moved down south I can order all the goodies I love. …
Eric San José
Easy to see right off of Rivington Street servicing the Lower East side and the adjoining areas of Manhattan. Parking on the Street is available but it fills up fast especially at night and on the weekends. Moderately clean facilities. No public Restroom. Great for all your retro candy needs at great prices. Credit cards accepted. Staff is ok. We will definitely be going back.
Anthony Dono
Where else can you go to find all of the candy that you enjoyed as a kid? You can also find imported versions of American classics, think Green Tea Kit Kats! They also have lots of chocolate dipped goodies, try the chocolate dipped Graham crackers with raspberry jelly! Parking is impossible, so find a spot a few blocks away.
Ian Rohac
Awesome candy shop, almost any candy you can think of, you will most likely find it here! You can even buy in bulk, and the prices are really very good for what you are getting. The staff were also very helpful and friendly.
Michael Feldheim
A classic very fun get the halvah
James Judd
A fun place for classic candy. If you miss candy cigarettes, baseball card packs from the 80s, chocolate from a whole other country, and you still want to collect Garbage Pail Kids.
Then this is a great place. 😉

Best candy spot in Manhattan. Why overspend at places like Dylans, Its Sugar & Sugarfina?. They have a wide variety of domestic & international caddies. Can buy most desired confections in small to bulk portions. Worth the trip to LES.
Joe Dillingham
Always great. A classic NY institution.
Jeanine Broome
Feeling nostalgic? Hop down memory lane here at economy candy! Every candy you'll ever want or need can be found here, from Jawbreakers, to any color of M&M's you could think of. It's literally like a museum for candy here. I would suggest taking an out of town friend with a sweet-tooth here...they'll love you for it.
Anthony Sicola
If Economy Candy doesn't have the candy you're looking for, maybe it doesn't exist. On a recent visit we found everything we were looking for- and some things we weren't looking for too: like Dallas and Three's Company trading cards circa 1980. You could spend hours here and never see everything they carry. Make sure to check out the variety of candies in the front window too.

This shop is a child's dream come true. The Willy Wonka of Lower East Side has attracted the young and young-at-heart ever since the late-30s. Their amazing selection of candy satisfies every sweet tooth. The feeling of nostalgia is bound to happen when browsing through the slim aisles packed with candy from ceiling to floor. There is a something for every candy lover here.
Lady Ace
The mini-Willy Wonka store is packed with candy. I am actually quite surprised when you open the door candy doesn’t come spilling out. You can find retro candy, hard to find candy, candy by the pound, jelly beans by the color and a bunch of other random things. The prices are also very reasonable and almost half the price of It’s Sugar, Sugarfina, and Dylan’s Candy Bar. It might not have the brightest colored wallpapers or cute teddy bear marketing, but at least you won’t be paying a higher markup price because of it. Be warned, you might not enter with cavities and diabetes but you might leave with it.
Jasmine Noor
It was my own fault for coming here when I was terribly cranky and hungover or else I would have had the energy to buy every damn thing in the store. There's an amazing selection of candy and you can just feel the diabetes creep up on you as you're exploring. Definitely come here when you have a sweet fix and you want to go all out on a candy binge.
John Mitchell
As a Brit in NYC always great to find imported chocolate from home.
Fantastic store, excellent selection
Jessica Levin Sullivan
If you love candy, you will love this place. Everything and anything with a lot of blasts from the past. Ring Pops and Pop Rocks and everything in between. It just makes me happy to walk around and take in the candy scent in the air. Fun shopping for kids and adults.
Stevie Amirault
Really great shop with a ton of all different candies. The staff is very friendly and helpful. It's a bit packed and hard to move inside but with so many candies around, waiting isn't difficult. :)
Loretta Byrd
Loved it
The
Front door young man, was very helpful.
Me and Son enjoy the candy and a lot of
Collectable s.
Great place to go.
Traci
Oh my god, Economy Candy has been on my to-see list forever and I finally made it there this past weekend.
Upon walking in, you ARE the kid in a candy shop, regardless of age. They had everything from caramels to Cadbury bars to Ring Pops to licorice to Indian nuts to t-shirts.
I will definitely return, especially since the staff is helpful.
One of the guys, however, didn't recommend I move in when I said I should live there. :)
Hila Stern
They have absolutely everything you want. Great prices and we love Jerry the owner who has been there for years and years. Turkish pistachios are to die for, Halava is beyond amazing and chocolate covered Graham crackers are just divine.
Eriberto Ramos
I love this candy store it's the only one that has the original candy it's been when I was a kid
Ida Noelle
Great place to buy in bulk and they still carry a good selection of hard to find candy and chocolate bars. The store is small and cramped so it's a bit of an adventure to scour the shelves crowded with all different kinds of sweets.
karema ward
Store can be very crowded on the weekend but that's because you can get every and any candy imagine for a fairly decent price. Great place to buy candy is doing a candy table at an event.
A G
This is the best place to buy candy in NYC! Their selection is vast, with candy from all over the world and the staff is fantastic! You want Torrone? They have it. You want REAL Cadbury chocolate? They have it. Smarties, M&Ms, Reese’s? They have it ALL! Add in chocolate covered goodies/fruits, nuts, etc...you can’t ask for anything more!
Barry F
Candy I haven't seen in decades. I'll be back
Maki Yamamoto
A trip to the dentist may be necessary after a visit to this delightful candy store. Almost every nook and cranny is chock full of sugary goodness. Everything from mainstream candy found in convenience stores to candy that will make you nostalgic, from gummies to gumballs...almost everything is found here. For those too old to go trick-or-treating - it’s Halloween here every single day for a small price.
Cindy Chan
Nice store with a lot of choices.
Kaled Ali
I have been going to this place since I was a child and I've never walked by without going in at least once. The candy options are endless and the staff has maintained the small town feel the neighborhood once had. It's a great place to get something if you're looking for a present or just to get something for dessert.
Joseph Frohlinger
The best . Run, don’t walk.
Julia Gibb
Every type of candy you could possibly want with none of the pink fluffy obnoxinous of chain candy stores. It took me years in new york to find the good sour cherries. Fun selection of old-fashioned candy as well. They also have NYC chocolates that I put on guests pillows when they come to visit.
Linda Young
I'll never forget going to Economy Candy when I was in NYC, and was thrilled to see that I could order on line! I usually expect about 200 kids for Halloween Trick or Treating, so I ordered 15 lbs of bulk, wrapped candy and treats to put in cello bags. Candy arrived absolutely perfect, and the kids will have an assortment unlike any other!! Thanx!!! LINDA, Gold Beach Oregon
David Shacknofsky
Feels like stepping back 60 years. Incredible sweet shop
Pamela Anderson
Every imagineable candy. Mix your own Jelly Bellys, etc...
Terry Inder
Omg! I can't say enough good about this place! What a trip down memory lane. This place will service all your sweet tooth needs and is an awesome source for Pez Dispenser enthusiasts. Its just a quick subway ride down from Times Square, and the staff are super knowledgable and just as into candy as you (should be). They also have a great supply of SEALED vintage collector cards. Like the ones you use to get with that hard piece of chewing gum. Please check them out, you won't be disappointed!
Magan Omar
I was (literally and figuratively) a kid at the candy store!! By far the best candy store in NYC I've been to.
Tip: when it's cold out, I'd stay away from getting candy that's right next to the window, as the candy there is kind of frozen and really hard to eat. I was so mesmerized by the rest of the store that didn't even cross my mind.
Manish Rajguru
Great variety of candies at decent prices. Takes you back to your youth with some of their selections.
John Quidone
Grew up in this neighborhood and always loved economy candy. Crowded still but worth the wait
Nichel Bethea
I love the variety of candies that they have in the store. The candies here are much cheaper than Dylans and you can also buy vintage records and childrens books. However, the store is pretty small to house everything. I always feel like I am in someone's way. So its more of an "in and out" type of place than a place where you can roam around for a bit. The hours are also too short for me considering its closed by the time I leave for work during the week.
Douglas Andersen
Very large selection of packaged candies, especially the ones that you thought no one made anymore. If you are from out of town, stop here to grab stuff that you cannot find a home and be the talk of your neighborhood at Halloween.
Alan Leber
Iconic New York City establishment which hopefully will never close. Worth a walk through even if you don't intend on buying anything. Current credit card minimum is $10 which will buy you quite a bit with their low prices.
David Pittman
Every candy you can imagine is jammed to the gills in this LES store. From the name brand pieces you can find at your local convenience store, to British Cadbury chocolates, to the most varied selection of nondescript bulk candy that gives the store its name, this is definitely worth a stop if you're in the area.
Although it feels cramped, unsurprisingly customers and staff are in a good mood (who wouldn't be around all this candy?). Grab a bag and start filling up.
Clari P
If you walk into this old school candy shop you inner child will go wild. Located in the heart of LES, it have any candy you think of from all over & eras. It's time to get your sweet tooth on in the sweetest places in the city!
Zia Al-Khalil Ott
Economy Candy is THE place to go if you want candy in bulk, old school candy, imported candy, or just candy in general. The store is stocked from floor to ceiling with every kind of candy that you can imagine, so much so that going here is an "experience" in and of itself. Service is good, though they can be a rushed when there are a lot of customers (the place is on the smaller side). This place is Wonkaland come to life!
Angiangell GORDON
This place is awesome, I literally felt like a kid in a candy store. They have all the candies you remember from your childhood plus dried fruits and the prices were resonable.
Patricia Shay
Amazing selection. Excellent help.
Ivan Paredes
This is a New York City Landmark.
Originaly on the corner of Essex Street and Clinton Street. Now just a few stores up on 108 Clinton Street.
Here you can go back un time to when you were a kid. All the Candies, Bubble Gums, Chocolates and Nuts you remember eating as a child. You can find them here. The prices are very fair. You can also find collectibles. This is a place you will return again and again. I have for the past 35 years. I never leave empty handed. I always leave with a smile on my face and as you leave you start planning when you will go back again.
Kamani
Awesome sauce! Yeah I just said, I keep candy on my coffee table for guest when they come over, I get it here, the selection is everything but also the quality is good, good chocolate!
J
Such a cool store. Wide selection of vintage candy. If it existed, chances are you will find it here. A nice diversion in this ultra trendy area.
Joseph Edward lyons
all the great candy and other items I had as a kid are there and great staff.
Jenna Landi
Take a walk down memory lane and dig into the incredible selection this awesome family owned store has to offer. Everything from chocolate covered pop rocks to gummi cherries. And candy cigarettes. AND they sell in bulk!
Harrison Markey
Dentists worst nightmare. They sell fake cigarettes. Candy cigarettes. Who knows when these things were made but they are awesome. You can trick your drunk buddies into trying to light them. A nice bit of fun. This place has every sweet ever. Not a smoker? Go with the Big League chew. Candy tobacco products so good! God bless America. Candy tobacco haha!
Shamboozler
Where do I even begin? Gosh its been years. This place is the place my mom grew up with in the L.E.S. and soon intriduced me to it. Its got loads of candy from all over, and the owner Ive known since I was a little kid about 3 years old. I come here every once in a blue moon and the workers there recognize me and my brother as the little kids who chased the cat around the store. Cats no longer there sadly as she passed away but the store is very friendly and the environment is amazing. Mom always goes for turkish pistachios.
Garreth Blackwell
Come for the candy, stay for the vintage trading cards. This place is a stop every time we are in the city. At random times my daughter will ask if we are going to Economy Candy the next time we are in the city, and the answer is always yes!
Kacper Jarecki
The best candy store in the city. They have something for everyone, including rare and vintage candy. The best part is that everything here is well-priced, unlike other candy stores in Manhattan ;-)
MO
the best. can find all candy and even hard to find old school candy like peanut chews and watchamacallits. good gag candies and huge variety. kids and adults will enjoy.
Charles Hymowitz
If Willy Wonka ran out of candy, this is where he would go. Many of your childhood favorites and an excellent selection of pez dispensers. Also nuts by the pound and packs of Sports cards, and other collectible cards. Prices are fair only trouble is you can go crazy for candy.
Crystal Cun
I don't eat much candy these days but this store is worth a stroll purely for the nostalgia. Where else are you going to get Space Jam trading cards with your Jelly Belly beans? A wonderful classic NYC institution.
Lara Ruth Ziobro
Chances are the candy of your childhood you so miss and think doesn't exist is in fact on the shelves of this EV fave. Candy necklaces, Big League Chew, rock candy, PopRocks, so many things... I can't name them all. Worth a visit.
Amy M
A New York gem. Smells like your Halloween candy-bag bounty. Kind staff who appreciate the joy their store brings. A must-visit for any NYC kid, no matter how old.
Desmond Chow
Economy Candy has all the old school candy you could ever want. This store is packed from floor to ceiling of candy. Classic candies, gummi candy, chocolate, etc. They have everything. It's like a trip down memory lane. Keep this Lower East Side institution in business.
Christina “Sunshine” Rosario
Great candies for everyone of all ages. My mom even found candies she use to eat when she was a kid in the early 60's. Great people work here.
Stephen Pellegrino
Whenever I'm on the lower east side, I make it a point to stop at Economy Candy. You can find pretty much any candy you've ever heard of in this store, from Abba Zabba bars to Zagnuts. The candy is fresh, I've yet to get something stale. They even have an awesome Jelly Belly bar in the back of the store, although it can get sliiiightly pricey. You can also get non-packaged confections such as chocolate covered pretzels/grahams made on premises. The whole place has a very 50s kitchy feel to it, like an old school soda fountain or something
The ONLY reason I don't give Economy a full five star is because depending on who you get checking you out, you'll SOMETIMES get a bit of a snide, better-than-thou attitude. Still, just ignore it, because this shop is a necessary stop for those with a sweet tooth!
Ron Capistrano
Candy Necklaces, Fruit Stripe Gum, Tiny Chicklets and Shockers as far as the eye can see...
I am rarely on the Lower East Side when the sun is still up. I've been hanging out here since moved here in 2008 and never got the chance to go inside Economy Candy. Every time I pass by this place it is around 2am and its closed. You will see me peeking through the windows to see what's inside. I had a day off and FINALLY had the chance to go inside. It was like I walked into Willy Wonka's factory, but through the back door. Once I walked in it's like I was blinded by what I was seeing. All this candy in one place and I only come in now? I won't lie... I think I shed a tear or two and end poured some of my 40oz beer. In memory of my old self for not coming in here a long time ago.
I was blown away from al the candy they have. It really brought me back to my childhood chasing down the Ice Cream Truck. (I still do...) They a have a WIDE SELECTION of candy that I haven't seen in a LONG TIME. I thought they stopped making these, but apparently you can only get them here. I haven't seen them anywhere else in the city. From Cry Babies, Fruit Stripe Gum, and shockers to Push Pops and even Retro Lunch Boxes.
The prices here are VERY REASONABLE. They have a section where everything is $0.75 (candy bars and regular sized sweets). They also sell candy by the pound and in giant packs assorted by flavor and color. Do you ONLY need green gumballs? Have no fear cause they have a bag of just green ones or whatever color you need. This place is like a Dylan's Candy Bar, but for the downtown crowd. I don't like going up 59th and it seems too "Touristy". You can avoid all that by coming here and shop in a more "laid back" atmosphere.
CANDY not your thing? Not only do they have candy, but they also have dried fruits and nuts by the pack or pound. There is something for everyone here!
Jaudon Rainey
WOW!!!! Soooooooo flyyy. I loveee this place. If you can’t find it here, chances are...you won’t find it. The staff has a kind way. When we went 30 kids jumped off a school bus and the staff said” we got 30 kids coming. “ it’s a small straight forward shop, with a mix of locals knowing exactly what to get and tourists. Go in... I dare you not to buy that old school favorite.
Jon Lazar
Cool little shop in the LES to buy all the classic candies you remember as a kid and all the weird different candies you've never heard of. I could have spent hours there browsing all of the assorted candy there (and bought all forms of sugar)
Tiffany Rosario
Lots of sweets, individual sized and sharing sizes
Jennifer Levine
Sun-bleached comics and candy boxes line the windows of this otherwise average storefront. Once customers enter, however, they are gifted with a vision of a sweet tooth's heaven. Novelty items and international treats, old timey licks and bulk boxes; all manner of tastes line the walls from floor to ceiling and crowd the floor with huge racks of chocolates, taffies, and chews. Unlike its trendier compatriots uptown, this Lower East Side gem specializes in buying bulk and hard-to-find candies (sometimes from from a bygone era), while still displaying the latest gimmicky snack from recent candy convention. Planning a weddding, throwing a party, crafting that special gift or just have a craving? Sweets of every color and type are waiting here to make your wishes come true. #SweetsWeek
Alexis Guerra
Stepping in here is like stepping into Willy Wonkas candy shop. Once you enter you're plunged into a world of jelly beans, chocolate bars, gummy treats and the forgotten candy of your youth ( umm, candy cigarettes anyone?!?). While it registers more as a warehouse, you won't be disappointed by the cavernous selection of tasty treats you can find at Economy. I like to bring people who are visiting here. It always seemed to bring back waves of nostalgia and the amount of rare or seemingly thought discontinued candies you can find here are mind boggling! You can also find candy from overseas and other countries. For those with a sweet tooth, and even those without,it's a fun trip down memory lane :) Economy Candy is definitely worth checking out.
Fred Alluso
Aficionados of glucose know this New York institution all too well. I'm not certain how they do it, but Economy carries every candy you can recollect from your childhood. I 've challenged many a sweet tooth lover and each and every time they were able to find that elusive item at Economy. Bonus Tip: Go early in the day to avoid the crowds they get in the mid to late afternoons.
Shel X
It was quite a popular store, a lot of people. Great assortment of candies. Even found quite a few different kind of German candies that my kids like.
Jorge polo
Best prices for import Candie's..
DJ Hail Nazareth Nazareth
I am going back again to reload my candy stash
Dianna
Old-timey candy shop filled to the brim with candy.
It's fun to wander around, though a bit of a tight squeeze.
They have lots candy from the past, as well a modern stuff.
They have packaged items, gravity bins where you pay by weight (m&ms, jelly belly, etc), prewarpped loose gummy candies, and pay per piece/pound of chocolate-covered items (pretzel, graham cracker, oreo)
ej shortell
Great selection of candies. Some from your childhood and some hard to find candies. Extremely reasonable prices with a huge selection. You could spend several hours browsing through the store before making a selection.
malky jungries
I love this store they have so much kosher items and the staff is so helpful
Phillip Garner
Great place for all the classic sweets and a few old toys you cant find locally. If the candy is still being made, it will be in stock here!
Bob German
The very best candy store!! great quality and plenty to choose from. If you want to best at reasonable prices and love sweets, you've found nirvana
Margaret Helene
Someday I will visit but for now, I order online. My friend is from NYC, told me about this place and so for the past few years, I buy a NYC-themed candy from them and give it to my friend at Christmas. She loves it!
Annette Reyes
Great place to go for all types of candy, nuts, dried fruits and if your looking for retro gumball machines, radios, camera's some are for sale. Very friendly family owned for years! Love this place.

Jeff Marken
A little smaller than expected, very crowded. A good selection of candy and friendly staff. Prices no better than anywhere else. It's worth a visit if your in the area.
Sol Cohen
Wow wow wow. Loved it. Bought a bunch. Gives the other big candy shop a run for the money "D's" both wave character. Economy was more nostalgic. Can't wait to go back.
ronald waitzman
Skye and Mitchell plus their crew can't be more helpful in providing first class service. The assortment is just outstanding!
Mackenzie Cox
I ordered some chocolates as a secret Santa gift. Not only was the price the best I could find, I also received my package 2 days after submitting my order. Definitely recommended!

Mae Graham
A little slice of heaven. Lots of great old school candy as well as a sound selection of modern candy. Always ends up costing less than anticipated, though we go expecting to spend a lot.
Lisa Olszewski
Every old school candy you can think of, including Marzipan, my favorite!
Billy Carroll
It’s like trip back in time. Candy from your youth you haven’t seen in decades.
Always fun to stop by when you’re in the hood.

Peter Andersen
Been buying candy online from Economy Candy for years. Great pricing, great service, quick shipping.
John Plaut (TVNACMAN)
Clean, inviting friendly. They have plenty of treats even the older stuff that is becoming hard to find.
Bonita Anderson
The throwback of squirrel notes, pez, candy necklaces & etc. This is a treasure that you do not need an eyepatch in ordering to go searching. Inexpensive, wonderful staff & friendly customers. It takes you back to the fun days when you were a kid. Get ready to ohhh & ahhh. It's amazing when you see the variety & take a trip down memory lane.
Jonathan Barnes
This place is full of candy. You can find candy from around the world, old and new. There are bulk candies, nuts, etc. that you can also check out. Not much more to say, really.
Come here to get candy.
Sinner Nor Saint
I really enjoyed it, the different candies, seeing things I’ve never seen before, however it was quite crowded after being in there for more then 20 minutes
gen2fit2quit
Been going there since elementary school daze... The early 90s... Still on point... Different varieties of candies, chocolates, nuts, sold by weight... Check it out of you're ever on the lower East side!
Steven Weiss
Whatever you're looking for, they have it.
Frank Davis
A proper old fashioned candy store with both current and old school candy. Loved something as a child 30 years ago but haven't found it in years? Economy will probably have it.
Suz Sims-Fletcher
You will find something! You will have a story! You will smile!
Economy Candy is old skool - in what they carry and the way the shop is run. Put it on your "must see" list when visiting the city and always take your visitors here.
Need Necco Wafers - they got 'em
Need Boston Baked Beans? in the box or by the pound?
Zagnut or zero?
which of the BILLIONS of pez?
something color coordinated for a wedding, shower, birthday?
EC is a Joy.
Emily Del Greco
I go in with a smile on my face and leave in a good mood. Please gods of Manhattan development, allow this special place to continue to exist and don't railroad it with a bank or a pharmacy or a juice bar. In addition to an unparalleled selection of candy, Economy has trading cards (Garbage Pail, Three's Company, etc) from the 70s, 80s, and 90s and more halwa-by-the-pound than you could ever eat. Seek it out and have fun.
Jason Viet
It’s a Willy Wonka candy store experience in the city. Wonderful!!!
Paul Birnbaum
Price and selection of the classics of candy and nuts Although I miss the gallon jugs of Fox's U-Bet chocolate syrup (or they'd still have five stars).
Frank Taniyo
They have it when it comes to candy some from the past and new different like you never had seen before.
Jonathan Milstein
They have EVERYTHING from old school candy to the latest and greatest all at fair prices. Skip Dylan's chocolate and the other fluffy candy shops.
anastasios ignatiadis
Best please for candy and chocolate the owner and employees are great try it you'll love it. It should've be called paradise candy and chocolate place
Farin Chowdhury
A heaven for candy lovers. They have lots of varieties. If you want to give American candies to someone outside the US, you can buy from "Economy Candy".
Robert J
Great place. If you been here, you know. If not, come and get some candy. I dare you to walk out empty handed.
Darren Slater
Unbelievable place it was like being at Wonka's
sophia johnson
Their candy selection is fresh, varied, and economically priced.
I travel over an hour to shop here monthly and it's worth every mile.
L S
It's like stepping into a cady store time machine
Joe Conte
If you're standing outside of this place and wondering what's behind the door in a nutshell it is your childhood. The candies that are in here and the Nostalgia Collectibles up and around the walls are a must-see even if you're a diabetic
James Redfern
To be honest, this was a little underwhelming. The candy was verrrrry overpriced but the selection was pretty good. The inside of the shop wasn’t particularly special, just a plain old shop. Tbh, I’ve seen better for much less. But this is NY...
Linda Wolf
Wonderful store with friendly staff and candy that brings back great childhood memories at a sensational price. I visit at least once a week.
Jobina Purvis-Rowland
The experience was like a big wow moment, it was my first time visiting and i found all my childhood candies that i could remember. It was a great experience i will be visiting again
K The Foodie
Love this place! Such nostalgia! Come ready to buy lots of candy!
Linda Gnat-Mullin
This is where the candies of childhood live on. Also, lots of luscious, funny, joyous options. A fun place to explore! Sugar-free chocolates, too!
Anjelica Mendez

Staple candy shop of NYC. Also merchants of old-school toys, like paddleboard and jacks, and harmonicas.
Chris C.
Iconic, and a must-visit for every tourist. Economy Candy brings New York back to the 1900's and you back to your childhood. It's a veritable museum of bizarre sugary concoctions, and I defy you to leave empty handed.
Lala
It's the best candy store in the city. Think back to when you were a kid,
what was your favorite candy....you will probably find it in Economy Candy
Angel Fuentes
This place was a throw back. They have candy I havent seen in almost 20 years, I was very surprised. Definitely worth a look if your a candy freak.
Rob LoBue
Absolutely LOVE this place! They have anything you could possibly imagine including all of the old school favs. We make a trip here a few times a year and it's nothing but a great time.
Patrice C
You dreamt about a place like this existing when you were a kid. candy favorites from your childhood and everyone else's from at least the past 6 decades. New things you've never tried and an assortment of dried fruit and nuts as well...if anything they have too many optons. the space can be a bit packed and the aisles feel tight.
Carl Diaz
Oh my, the candy here from the 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's and from all over the world. It brought back so many childhood memories. Wish I could visit every week.
Albert Wong
If you love candy (or nutty snacks), come here! Especially if you're throwing a party as many products will come in large packages. The Costco of Candyland!
Michael J
Excellent candy store! They have a large variety of more exotic candies, chocolates and confectionaries; and at an affordable price!
andy ayala
I used to come to this place as a kid. Loved it for all the candy options old and new.
Anastos Koloniaris

Dustin Lautenbach
Talk about great time. I was instantly brought back to my childhood favorites. I will be returning.
