I was driving to another place nearby and saw the huge collection of plants outside for purchase. I quickly turned around and parked. After walking around several times taking everything in, I finally made my choice of plants and pots and went to check out. The customer has to hold everything up to the cashier and bag their own items. Everything else was lovely.

Jefferson Feed, Pet & Garden was great! I went by to pick up an item they had donated to a silent auction for charity. Everyone was so nice. Thank goodness I made it out the door "without" a cute Bunny, Dog or Kitty! Hubby would have killed me.

This place is my favorite pet store and garden store. It is like they combined two of my favorite things together. We love bringing our dog here to bath him. They have a beautiful set up for washing, drying, and grooming your pet, and only $15 for 1/2 hour. Did i mention they supply the soap, conditioner, bathtub, grooming table, towels and a blow dryer. I believe they even have brushes available. My guy is a Golden retriever so I have my own brushes and combs for him. Definitely a place to check out if you have animals.

Great place nice and spacious with a huge selection. Much better than the big pet stores and possibly even better if not same prices. Well worth doing a bit out of your way to shop local. I went in to look a the adoption animals and they were kept in clean spacious kennels and have a playroom to get to know the pets. I ended up adopting 2 kittens because they were already siblings and played well together couldn't break them up. The dog treats at the checkout counter are a little pricey compared to the big box shops but I have never seen my puppy rip into any none people treat as fast as those.

The manager was super nice, courteous to us. They were completely out of our dog food, but he made sure that our needs were met for what we came in for. We were extremely impressed by him and how professional he was to make sure we left as happy customers. It's been a long time since we had this outstanding customer service anywhere.

Unique pet, plants, and feed store frequent by locals in New Orleans. They offer a variety of chicks, birds, cats, and other pets for adoption or sale. Excellent selection of high-end dog and cat foods that supplies etc. They also offer dog training classes which we have enjoyed very much.

Still had several night blooming jasmine and a rosemary plant. The hand painted pots are awesome. The 1 young gentleman at the register was uninterested in helping. The other was nice but didn't know much Very disappointed no butterfly and hummingbird plants for fall or to plant for spring. I would love to see back/front yard food forest supplies, edible flowers for thanks giving Winter garden vegetables, asparagus, cabbage, carrot, celery. Plants, pansies, dianthus, snap- dragons, stock and calendulas. Seeds or bulbs or both. Countertop veggie gardens. Holiday decorations. Labor day, Halloween, Thanksgiving Mums, pepper plants, yellow squash, late tomato's, pumpkins, gords, hay, scare crows, horn n plenty. Holiday Fairy gardening. Solar lights, string lights. Bonefire ideas like carts for the kids, sparklers.

This is my favorite place to shop for lawn and garden supplies and Specialty cat food. They're very knowledgeable about their products and plants, they're knowledgeable about the different types of dirt and what can be used for what types of plants and what types of environments. I really appreciate all the time that they give me whenever I need it and also that they recognize me when I walk in the door.

While it's in a great location, it's not very personable. First I went to this location to have my dogs nails trimmed but the vet at this location has moved. Then I looked for a retractable leash and almost lost my jaw when I saw they were $35.

Stopped by the other day with the wife and kids to pick up some Milkweed plants and top soil for the butterflys of the garden. Had some questions regarding pricing and square footage and I was very impressed with the knowledge of the two gentlemen that were helping us. Very professional and courteous. I went to Jefferson Feed to buy a black cover for a large bird cage. There were none available for purchase. The Associate to assisted me in my search was spot on with knowledge and information about the product, where I might be able to buy cover at another merchant and why Jefferson Feed didn't have the item. I truly love this place! It's got beautiful plants out in front and on the side, tons of animals up for adoption, they've also got stuff for your pets, like food, toys, treats, bedding for guinea pigs, and lots of other things! They also have seeds for growing plants or crops. I would love to add photos but I didn't think to take any while I was there.

I am always happy with Jefferson Feed, no matter which location I use. They are the only store that carries the Fromm Heartland Gold that I feed my dogs, so I visit them quite often. The app is nice, too, and they have a decent rewards program, but accessing it in the location on Vets can be tricky. It's best to have everything pulled up before you enter the store.

Animals aren't kept very well, but great selection of food and the plant side is wonderful. [Edit] Changed from 3 to 5 as things have drastically changed at the store. The vet clinic is nice, so is the adoption center. Great selection of foods and plants, in good condition. Cleaner now too. I love going here and so does my son and husband!

Wonderful place! Great selection of plants, trees, & flowers, pretty much everything you need for your yard. The staff is super friendly knowledgeable, & helpful!!! Great pet items, a little pricier than the big box stores but they have a fantastic return policy if you have finicky pets. They also have adoptable pets there! It can be hard to get in & out of if traffic is backed up on Central Ave, but they have plenty of parking.

My favorite plant and pet experience. It is one of the better plant places in the city in my opinion. They have a large selection of plants and a very knowledgeable staff to give advice and guide you. They are a partner in the community and also house a pet adoption service within their store. Bless their hearts. If you haven’t been here you should.

We always use Jefferson feed for our trips to the park. My son loves to buy corn feed for the ducks and scratch n wild seeds for the birds. While visiting we always get a lil treat for his puppy too and if they have sacks of peanuts for the big birds we grab it for the squirrels. Definitely a go to pet everything store for us.

We've been to most of the specialty plant stores and pet food stores in the GNO area, and Jefferson Feed is among the best in both specialties. Huge selections of plants and gardening supplies, including some harder to find items such as hydroponics supplies. Their pet food selection includes most of the higher quality brands you might have trouble finding elsewhere; and they also have a pretty great selection of other pet supplies (beds, toys, snacks/treats, etc.). And finally, they also have a decent selection of supplies for pets/animals such as chicken feed. Note: some, if not all, of the satellite locations only offer pet supplies, so hit the Jeff Hwy location if you're looking for "feed" or gardening.

Love this place! The staff are so helpful and they really know their stuff, especially Mr. David. I bought a fiddle-leaf fern and it started to drop leaves after a few weeks. We took it back and Mr. David helped us figure out what was wrong with it and re-pot it! They really care about the plants, even after you buy them.

Great place to get food for your pets. They have dog treats and bones, toys and take care of the animals there very well. The workers are always friendly and the plants outside are nice. The only problem is that sometimes when I come some plants are dead and dried, also some things are a little over priced. But they save animals in need.

My first time there I was lucky to have a wonderful young lady help me pick out things for my first reptile. Not only was she patient while helping me, but she was very knowledgeable as well. Customer service is definitely a 10 out of 10. Also their prices as unbelievably reasonable! I recoomend this place to my friends all the time!

If you're out in Metairie or old Jefferson in general Jefferson Feed is an awesome place to go. They have a large variety of things from chicken coops, starter bonsai, and excellent beginners fruit trees. This is the first place I've ever seen that had a bonsai African fire bush excellent selection!!!

Me and my grandson first time, the guy up front greeted us. We walked to the back, it was adoption day had no idea but we came to love on the animals, but no one greeted us in the back or no smiles then it took forever for someone to come help us 🙁and it wasn't as busy, a quick hi welcome to adoption day! would have been cool, customer service is a plus to me, makes me feel good that we came out to help love on the animals bcuz they are sheltered animals and they need lots of love.

Took my kids here after getting our new chicks and wanted to get some starter supplies. After we were all excited it soon became a disappointment and aggravation there. My kids were well behaved and none of them seemed to be kid friendly people. Seemed to be rather aggravated with them being there. What we got were attitudes and cashiers chowing down on some chips talking about having IBS while at the checkout counter. May need to improve this a bit. Update: 2021 We’ve been back and they seem to have better quality customer service help. I’ve been pleased with the help we have received

Their selection of goods, from pet food to toys, collars, leashes, bones, chews, kennels, carriers to some live pets (I saw rabbits, rats, & a hedgehog today. But they usually have dogs & puppies for adoption also.) and plants & outside decor is enormous. I believe that the pet food is reasonably priced, but everything else is a little to a lot pricey. But they have the best selection of products than any pet store that I've ever been in. The people are friendly & helpful enough, but today I was browsing for Xmas presents for my dogs. I took off 1 🌟 because of the prices of some items.

I've been to several Jefferson Feed locations and they're all wonderful with great staff, but there's something special about this particular location. I wondered into this one on a whim looking to only buy flea collars. However, I left with a wealth of knowledge and two new plant babies after meeting Scott, who is both charming and scholarly when it comes to horticulture. I am inspired. I can't wait to go back with my succulents. Please have Scott do workshops! He's phenomenal. Amazing location and staff.

Always love buying vegetable seedlings here. Vegetable seedlings are usually sold here in packs of three for a low price and the staff is friendly, knowledgable, and willing to help you find the right varieties for your needs. Got some particularly helpful garden advice from Georgia this planting season. This location is a bit of a hike for me but worth the drive. The pet supplies and adoptable animals are a happy extra.

It's a nice big pet store. Feels more local than the corporate Petco or PetSmart, so that's nice. The employees are very helpful as well. THEY LET YOU PET RABBITS FREELY! We bring our two fur babies to the vet here and this is the best veterinarian we have ever been to. I had one of my babies neutered here for $125.00 which was way below all the other places I had called! That's what first brought me here and now I won't go anywhere else. It's one stop shopping for everything. They do all the shots and medications you need, trim nails, do the anal gland thing (yuck), and heartworm prevention. Then you can walk through the door to the feed store and buy all your food, treats, beds, leashes and anything else you can possibly think of! I have recommended this place to friends and they are all happy as well!

This is the OG mothership Jefferson Feed, and it shows. They have quite a wide variety of goods for animals beyond cat & dog including amphibian, reptile, avian, livestock, and in addition to that they have beaucoup seeds and garden & yard material.

I went for the first time today to check out the animals. Definitely will be going for such supplies for my upcoming snake and/or anything else. I will say, the Leopard Gecko cage was horrible. It was scattered with droppings and the hide nearly took up the whole enclosure. Also, the Sulcata Tortoises were over priced. Along with another fish tank I seen that definitely needed to be cleaned. Other than that, I'd say it's a well stapled store.
