LOVE this store! I’ve been to both locations in New Orleans and Salem but I’ve always been more partial to this shop! The staff is very friendly and helpful and always in such a great mood! The vibe in this shop is very peaceful and welcoming and the vast selection of items is amazing! Their loose incense powders have always been a favorite of mine!

Very good and well stocked occult store. From potions and cauldrons to books and brooms. They carry NOLA made voodoo dolls - different varieties for different occasions. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. The altar is amazing, make sure you stop and check it out. A little on the expensive side but it's one of the tourist places. Highly recommend to include it in your places to visit while in New Orleans!

Browsing through, this place has a great variety of book selections; from the occult, to astrology, to charms - even a live psychic reader... It's a very interesting shop to visit. Located on Decatur Street, it's also a visitors delight, walking from Canal St, down Decatur, to the Hex shop, passing so many things to inspire your curiosity. Bring a camera, and your imagination.

I was referred to Hex and specifically Elie Barnes by a friend, because she had several fantastic experiences working with her. Since I live in Wisconsin, I haven't had the opportunity to meet Elie in person but I've done both a zoom reading and a phone reading with her-- both times were AMAZING! I visited yesterday after being advised to visit this shop. I was thoroughly impressed and mesmerized. I feel like I may have offended the employees and sounded like I was mocking beliefs and treating it like something to take lightly. I didn’t mean to. As an empath, I could tell I disrupted the good vibes. This shop gave me an urge to explore paganism. I think it’s beautiful. Thank you for being so welcoming and patient. I’ll be back in the future to explore some literature.

A fantastic, fantastic witchy shop. It's very much for *witchcraft*, not so much Vodou (go down a few blocks to Voodoo Authentica on Dumaine if you want that). Ellie is a wonderful reader, and if you can get in with her, take the spot -- you won't regret it. Love their incense and candles, and they have a great selection of tarot decks. The memorial altar here and the healing altar at their other shop, Omen, just a block away, are powerful, and worth a stop in to pause and reflect. Friendly folks and great energy. What more can you ask for?

Average witchcraft store in French Quarter. Best of the stores in the area however it is not excellent as an occult store. Feels very much like it’s catering to the Anne Rice / Tourist market. I did like they had an alter you could place offerings at (for a price). Staff were attentive. Varied selection of books.

My wife and I had been dying to finally go to this store & we were not disappointed! We found so many things for our altar and other things as well! Definitely one of our top favorite places to go in the French Quarter now, my witchy wife is in love with the whole place. We will be coming back all the time when we move there in a few months! I was really excited to go here while in NOLA. Found some great finds, however, I purchased a money ritual kit (pictured), and was planning to do it with the New Moon (tonight), and to my surprise opening it, it was missing an item-a crystal, Aventurine, that clearly states is in the kit. So, it may not have been on the store itself but rather the packaging company, still disappointed though.

This is not really a supply store. Not for someone who truly practices their craft. This place is interesting though. Full of prepared bags and spells that cater to a variety of human wants and needs. Fun to walk through but not what I was looking for in an occult shop.

Every time I visit New Orleans I love to hit this shop up. The energy inside is so calming and the workers are very kind . They have a diverse range of witchy items. Today I got a lovely Celtic Faerie deck from there. The prices are decent and affordable if you are on a budget or don't have much cash. They also follow COVID-19 regulations which is nice to me as well. If you get the chance visit their sister store! (To the left ◀️ of the store front, full of Egyptian gear you can't miss it)

The employees were all incredibly friendly and knowledgable! Sam was very helpful in helping me and my friend find what were looking for. We both did 15 minute readings and were amazed by the accuracy and helpfulness of our reader (I forgot her name, sadly, she had dark wavy hair, green eyes, early 30's). Loved this store! I will definitely shop with them in the future and hope to someday visit their 2nd shop in Salem, MA!

Good little cramped shop with friendly staff. The selection is limited, you really have to leave downtown if you want a botanica with lots to choose from. It's more geared towards tourists, but it's the best spot in the Quarter for what they sell.

I did a tarot card reading in July 2021 with Elie Barnes amd OMFG everythinggggg she said was accurate. I visited NOLA and will prob call for a reading in future and will use her in future readings. She does a 6 months advance reading and everything she has said has been accurate. My husband and I have been trying for a child for over a year. She said in six months my body will be ready and it will be a surprising pregnancy. I thought it couldn't be true because I've been keeping track of everything so it wouldnt be a surprised when i take a test..here we are six months later. I was having surgery, did a urine test, and the nurse told me it was the first time ever a patient's urine test came back positive! My husband and I were speechless. That definitely was a shocker to us, the nurse, and my surgeon. She's predicted so many things that became true, not one thing she said was incorrect. Ie, she told me for the first time we'll have an event that will bring my husband's family and mine together and to watch out for the food because it will rain so the food needs shelter. We threw a birthday party for my husband at a park and his family came (they almost never attend) so it was first time our families met one another. It rained that day as well! We've been together for 11 years, not once did it ever rain on his bday and thankfully we had a shelter for the food. Another prediction she had was us moving and not staying long at our apartment. I was expecting to stay at the apartment until 2023. Here we are again 6 mths later and I had put in my 2 months advance move out date. There's more things but like I said, everything Said was accurate. She also made me feel so welcome and at ease. My session did not feel rush at all. My sister and friend also did a session, separately. Theirs isn't as accurate as mine as some of the things she said didn't come true for them. I've done a few readings with other readers and I've always felt you need to enter with an open mind and some readings won't be as accurate if what the subject holds isn't as strong. I highlyyyyy recommend HEX AND Elie (btw she works only a few days a weeks here).

Trace gave me the best and most fun reading I have ever had. I read for others, but you can't read for yourself, so it was lovely to have a true conversation with him and the Universe! Cannot more highly recommend going here or Omen. The energy in the store is calming and friendly. Will definitely go here every time I'm nearby! Probably the best occult store to visit in the french quarter. They have a bit of everything you may want to find or are looking for. The workers are very nice and helpful aswell! My only issue is that some things are a tad more pricey than other locations but it's not an issue at all.

This place is easy to walk by, especially when it’s closed because of the design of the building. Just come back when they are open, this place will blow your mind. If you like books and witchy things, this shopping experience is like being in a candy store. There are altar items, spelled pillows, cards, spelled postcards, books, readers, pendulums, and more. The customer service could use some work, but this is an amazing shopping experience overall. (If you’re interested in purchasing a deck of cards, there is an electronic browse feature at cash wrap.) Their shopping bag is a work of art. I might frame mine.

Recommended to us as part of the New Orleans experience. Voodoo and Witchery isn’t really my thing but it was interesting to go round and see all the weird knickknacks and spell books. I’m sure if you’re into this sort of thing you’ll get a better experience from the products which seemed surprisingly expensive to me. A wonderful shop, but their music volume is a bit too loud, makes it hard to hear if you get a reading. I recommend getting your reading at their sister shop a few doors down or one of the voodoo shops, can't enjoy it when you can't hear half of what is said.

The staff member that was working seemed a bit impatient and not interested in helping people but I wasn't there to shop. I had a reading with Elie and she was fantastic. I'm not much of a believer in this type of stuff but I'd say that 80% or so of the information she identified was accurate including our children, health problems and current situation. I met with Elie Barnes on a girls trip 6 months ago when I went to New Orleans. I waited this long to write a review to see if the things she told me would come true. I have to say that every single thing we have spoke about has come true so far and she is 100% the real deal! My other girlfriends that met with her have all said that what they spoke about also came true. Her way of reading is different and she's not someone that gives you what you want to hear. She is going to speak pure truth and sometimes thats not always what you want to hear and I glad she didn't like some others I've met. 6 months later and I'm still thinking about our interaction. I'm hoping everything else we spoke about comes to life and so excited about it. What an amazing experience and if you truly want to meet a psychic...she is your person! No messing around. I mean I can't rave enough about her. She is worth every penny and more!!! I'll be making another appt with her over the phone this time. I'll write a review to see if that lives up to how awesome she is in person. I couldn't possibly see it being any different!

I scheduled an hour reading with Elie Barnes in early December. This was the second reading at Hex for me. The first reading was fantastic, but I wish I had scheduled more time. So, this trip to New Orleans, I made sure to plan for extra time. My life is so hectic I don't even know what day it is half the time. Elie used Tarot Cards and did a palm reading. She told me so many things in that hour that I wish I would have taken notes! Elie is a very genuine, down to earth person that is easy to talk to. I left feeling like I know my path and what I need to do to get there. I feel like I can breathe and let my anxiety go. So far, there have been a couple things happen that Elie told me could happen. I will definitely see her again the next time I venture to New Orleans...whenever that may be. Hell, I'll probably call her before then and have a reading over the phone! She truly helped give me a direction. Thank you Elie!! I also have to mention the staff. The two guys working (I wish I could remember their names) were very knowledgeable, engaging/friendly, happy and fun! The atmosphere was very relaxed and non-judgmental. ZERO complaints from me!

I visited this store the week of Mardi Gras and it was an awesome thing to experience. There were thing like books on witchcraft, daggers that you could buy (only if you were an adult), soaps for certain purposes like becoming wealthy, voodoo dolls, and a lot more.
