Friendly staff. I have the vital care and rewards program with them which has saved me quite a bit of money when buying products for multiple pets. The store itself is run down a bit, but that's what gives it character. If you do curbside pickup through the app, though, it's currently on the fritz.

We take our large breed dog to the grooming and we have always had a great experience. Clean and happy dog when we pick him up. Specifically, Kim, is so great with our him. It is so reassuring to trust someone with your pet. She is the best!

I enjoy my time here and so does my golden doodle Meako. They have many different fish and homes for the fish. I love when they have cats sometimes to come and visit. They have a training area in the store. I have adopted a few hamsters from there and everyone was very helpful. The hamsters did well. They have a wonderful selection of everything for dogs. They have new fun selections. They have a dog tag maker as well which is not too unreasonably priced. My dog goes to the groomer here and it is very convenient though he does not enjoy it. He always gets a bone after from their selection. Employees are always friendly and helpful whatever section of the store it is.

Well stocked. Helpful. But, would be nice if you got the bulk treats in bins of various treats. You used to have carob cookies that all 4 dogs just love. Now I imagine that very few treats are being sold. That was a big draw when the prior supplier was being used. Then it was switched to a different one..Thanks

Order online pick up in store no easier way to shop. Go directly to the register tell them you have an online order to pick up, the clerk gets it from a cabinet they have nearby, hands you a bag with your product and you're out the door. Shopping could not be simpler, thank you Petco.

I am a fish hobbyists, and through all my searching for a good Petco/Petsmart for reliable products was hard (a lot of the times fish look sick, supplies old, damaged, etc.) However I stumbled upon the Richfield Petco and I am blown away by how clean the store was, how great all the fish looked in the aquariums including the Betta fish. They have an outstanding assortment of live plants and for an amazing price! The lady thst helped me was actually clocked out for the evening but still helped me get some live plants bagged up and chatted with me. The check out girl was very polite as well! The store and staff get a 10/10 from me!! I will be making the half hour drive when I need new plants and such for sure!

The cage I bought was broken and I did not receive a care guide for my new hamsters. I would have appreciated more guidance and undamaged merchandise. I will be returning the cage. I purchased one online. Probably a good idea to open the boxes for those Kaytee cages at the time of purchase. The plastic was shattered on the extension pieces. Staff was kind but the experience was frustrating.

GREAT TO DOGS BUT LIE AND DON’T DOCUMENT VACCINATIONS. 3 stars (for the groomers) because ultimately they are fantastic to my dog, but extremely inconvenient. This is my second time at this exact location. Last time they asked for his vax records and claimed I wouldn’t need to bring it back in, but they did not document his vax records last time so they turned me away saying “sorry, I don’t know what we can do.” Luckily I had it in my sent box of my email to the vet so I was able to do it, but if it wasn’t for that I would have wasted the trip here. They made it worse by trying to convince me I went to petsmart instead, which is impossible because I don’t have rewards through them but I do here and this location is by where I work so I know I was here, they just failed to document. Long story short, do not go to the groomers without all your documentation cause they don’t actually document it even though they claim to.

I had my dog nails trimmed. Petco has a new program for $19 a month you get unlimited nail cuts and teeth brushing (plus a few more things). This is the BEST anything pet company has done for my beagles.

HUGE thanks to the manager Jon at the Richfield, MN location. I damaged an item while transporting it out of the store to my vehicle, lucky for me a nice woman at the pet grooming area noticed and came outside to offer help. She then spoke to the manager who offered to replace the product (to my surprise). Instead of leaving with disappointment I left with my item and a new appreciate for Petco. Thanks Jon and unknown lady!

This store was well organized and fairly clean/neat. Cashier was courteous enough. No one went out of their way but none did anything wrong either. More than adequate for pet supplies. I believe a bit more expensive on some brands that other big box and grocery stores carry.

Good selection of grain free nutrition for my felines. I am impressed by an apparent new dedication to more natural/human grade/grain free options in cat food, and less of the "supermarket" quality that's more affordable but less healthy. If this continues I will remain a fan and a customer.

My rating is not so much for the store itself. It does have so many great products but I feel as though they may be a bit overpriced. My rating is for the fabulous groomer Louise that always has my Standard Poodle looking like a show dog! She is the absolute best!

Hard to get to but this location has a nice fish/aquatic plant section. The store is a bit dated but the selection was decent. Petco and PetSmart prices are higher than Amazon because overhead/payroll but you have the convenience and the staff to answer any questions

My kid bought a baby bearded dragon with her own money that she had saved. She named it "Spaghetti". We had "Spaghetti" for 10 days and then she had her first shed and got tail rot. We brought the dragon in and Jon helped us. He took the lizard and said he would call us with news about her after the vet could see "Spaghetti". Spaghetti did not survive and my daughter was DEVASTATED when I told her about Spaghetti. Jon said that we could come back in when my daughter was ready for a new one and he would help us. My daughter and I went back in 2 weeks after Spaghetti died to get a new lizard. Another employee Krissy helped us and she said that Jon had already taken care of the lizard and had bought a new one for my daughter and we could pick whichever one we wanted. My daughter was so happy! My family is very thankful for the kindness of the Petco employees and how much they really cared about the loss of my daughters pet. THANKS TO ALL OF THE PETCO EMPLOYEES!

I went to Petco to pick up dog treats for a friend's dogs. I had no idea where to look so I requested the assistance of the one employee I found at the other end of the store. He was helpful. The store smelled funky, the signage was a bit chaotic.

Very helpful sales associate - I was unable to login to my Pals Rewards account and he guided me to call Rewards for help and also recommended I check for expired rewards certificates and have them reissued. For some reason my email had gotten separated from my Rewards account (? maybe with a system upgrade/update). He double-checked that I had been taken care of before we checked out.

Went in the other day to get everything for my new dog which i am getting today. I guy stocking food noticed i my arm was in a cast, stopped what he was doing followed me around the store putting everything in my cart that i needed, personally checked me out and loaded everything in my car for me. It was a very pleasant surprise. You don't see customer service like that any more. After researching the prices are very high on most things but if i get services like that again today they will have earned my business for most things.

I like the store in general. Nice employees, clean. However, there was only one ferret, alone, the the cage. I ad.it that I dont like that they sell ferrets. I used to raise ferrets. Ferrets are not intended to be lone animals. They need others to thrive. He seemed lonely and depressed. The other issue I had was that I wouldn't ( and didn't) pay $6.99 for dry, dying grass for my cat. It shouldn't be on the shelf, let alone be offered at that price.

Love their free puppy playtime class. Super helpful and friendly staff! And you can price match anything to their online site (frequently cheaper), but still be able to shop in store, get it right away, and not pay for shipping.

And on July 14 I was waiting in the checkout line when the manager apologetically explained that the computer was down and we'd just have to wait for it to come back up. Always fun to go look at the ferrets when going to pick up food or supplies for my daughter’s Bearded Dragon or for our Pomeranians + they always have a bunch of cute things for outfits or toys for pets. I go there a couple times a month. Always a good experience & never had an issue if I had to return something!

Like having Petco so close to home, just wish they had more grain free cat foods that weren't vegetable based. Cats are obligate carnivores, they need protein from meat, not vegetables. Sheba perfect portions are now our go to cat food since they're not vegetable based and fit our budget. Tiki Cat has a few good options as well which is carried by Petco. 🙂

The Petco on 66th Street in Richfield is a great place to get your doggies groomed. I've been taking various dogs there for about 10 years now and have always been treated fairly. More importantly, all my dogs are treated kindly. This location feels more like a locally owned pet store than a national chain. The only thing that could be improved is the long amount of time it takes to complete groomings(usually 3-4 hrs.) I'm sure there's a good reason for long grooming times seeing that most groomers are similar in that regard. I will ask and update post next time I go in.

Pros -best place in Richfield by far to get anything for animals. The supply of animal food, toys ext.. is very nice. They have a dog grooming area and their employees are awesome, I feel comfortable leaving my dog to get groomed. I have a Rottweiler, they seemed to be ok right off the bat, I love a place that understands the large breeds that are often seen in a bad light but understand the you be nice I'll be nice attitude of breeds Cons - some of there toys cost a little more then I think they should,

This is your average Petco. There was a couple of dead fish in the aquariums, as their is in every comercial pet store. I visited near the holidays and Santa was there to take pictures with your pets. I was there for almost an hour and only had an associate ask me if I needed anything right before I was about to leave.

I used to live in Richfield and so I started using them 10 years ago for cat grooming because they were the cheapest. Best decision I ever made. My cat, Persephone, loves Louise, the cat groomer who has been there forever. The rest of the staff dote on Persephone, as well. I have now moved to Minnetonka, and even though there's a closer Petco (although I don't know if they do cat grooming) I still make the 30 minute trek to Petco with Persephone for her "date" with Louise.

It's where the pets go. No really - they have the super-tough toy lines for dogs that will chew through anything else that they're given. Every one of my toughest toys was bought from PetCo (as opposed to their competitors). For that reason alone I'll go to them.

Great selection of pet supplies, animals always look healthy, bright and colorful freshwater fish, and the staff is always nice and knowledgeable about animals.
