I shopped and got stuff, then I left. Lol, the truth is that they have the isles full of pallets of merchandise to stock the shelves and so you can't get around easily or hardly. And barely any of the employees know the English language. So don't even try to get pointed in the right direction.

It's Walmart, you can get practically everything you need. Dog treats, socks, motor oil, toothbrush, food. Lately there have been a lot of empty spaces on the shelves, so I sometimes have to stop at Hy-Vee to pick up the missing items. That's not a huge deal. But if they're going to make us use self checkout, they could at least have more self check outs available that have room for those of us who have a cart full of stuff. There isn't room to put the full bags when there is still stuff in the cart. It's very awkward and a bit irritating. But again, it's Walmart.

I have gratitude for good-hearted honest people. The distractions of day-to-day life allowed me to set my cell phone in the shopping cart I left it there unattended checked out got all the way home called customer service to find out that somebody had turned in my cell phone. I know it doesn't always work this way but thank you to the kind person that did the right thing.

I ordered pick up of my groceries. They made several substitutes that were of a more expensive option. Then they left the theft protection device on one of my items. I like the friendly service, but the errors were irritating.

Still the same wally work always crowded. People leaving there carts in the aisle and walk all the way down to get something. And they realized its not what the wanted and walk back to there cart empty cart handed. Otherbthan that there prices going up again.

Ahh, well it's Walmart. Expect to see the oddest people shopping, expect to check your own groceries out, expect to have an abnormally high rate of confusion, expect prices of items a complete mystery, expect a moderately disheveled store - mostly from the odd people shopping and lack of employees, and lastly expect a shopping cart that does not roll straight.

Not sure if the two clerks I dealt with had any knowledge of the department they were working in or even how the store operates. I gave them the benefit of doubt that they were NEW employees and that everyone is new on the job at some point in his or her life so was patient. I taught at the college level (retired now), and tried to teach my students how important communication is no matter what job-level you are. Always dress and behave and communicate for the position you want, not the position you are in now. Also to always ask questions, especially when you are unsure about something. Not asking for help is when you are dumb, not the other way around.

It was pretty easy to get what I needed. I use the self check out so I can get out quicker. I wish they had more checkouts with a little longer area to bag your groceries. We bring our own reusable collapsible bags and they take up more space. Update: they seem to have gotten rid of some of there checkout spots on the one side of the store. It seems a little disorganized.

I don't like self check out! I feel if we have to check and bag our own stuff that there should be a discount given. It's saving Walmart millions of dollars not having to pay for checker employees now. Why shouldn't, at least, 10 or 20% be passed on to us (their new employees?)

The only qualm I have with Walmart is the long lines of people checking them out. I personally think that the traditional way of having cashiers is much more convenient and resourceful.

This Walmart I would say is above average. They try to keep things stocks pretty well and decorate very creatively. It's pretty crowded during the summer or during rush hour but thats to be expected.

We do our major grocery shopping there. We like the people who work there. They are always very helpful. This time they had the 20 oz Voltage. Thank you! I also picked up some calf's liver, furnace filters and the side dish ingredients.

It's always a great place to shop. The only complaint that I have is to say that the can & bottle redemption isn't kept up. I had to ask for help 4 times and still no one assisted me to fix the machines. Otherwise, it's a great place to shop still. Thanks Walmart!

Store tends to be a little dirty, often CARTS aren't AVAILABLE bcuz they haven't been gathered from parking lot. They DON'T keep TRACK of & MAKE SURE customers DON'T TAKE ELECTRIC CARTS OUT OF STORE, THUS NONE BEING INSIDE AVAILABLE &/OR CHARGED FOR THE ELDERLY & HANDICAPPED ! While I was there last night I took 4 electric carts back into store & plugged them in for them to be available for those WHO really NEED THEM !!!

Some of the new door greater are rough and rood, not will coming Customers, not smiling, not helping, not professional. Some or almost items not available especially in the food area (frozen, canes, dry food, ...) They did not check the expiration date. Not enough cashier's, long line. Not organizing, the price goes up too much. Some times wrong prices and they didn't believe customers. They are not professional like before.

There was a glitch in the Walmart app that caused my shipping items to be delivered to my home. One driver kept in contact with me so I was able to send her to my son's apartment since I was working at the time. A different driver was difficult to speak with & understand simply because of language. He left my order outside the salvation army donation center. I spoke with a male person from Walmart that evening & he suggested to go in at 7AM. I went & explained the situation to the lady in charge on 11/06/21. I showed her the proof & she helped me in 5 minutes. No rudeness, no hassle. Exemplary! Thank you so much!! I'm sorry I forgot your name.

Had been better if went earlier rather than 45 mins before closing. Stockers and crew were moving the aisles literally. They leave stocked and line up and dwn both sides and lift simontanusly and wedge sliders under then slide the whole aisle. Gets done quick but yeah should have chosen better te for both.

The only thing that I don't like is that there needs to be more checkout lines open cuz everyone is in line so long, but I know they're hiring right now and that could be the problem why there is a shortage of them!

I've been getting my prescription's here since they opened up, excellent pharmacy never have to wait very long! The store is still the same long lines and it's mainly self check out. Only 2 checkout service which makes it hard to not get mad waiting. They have a lot of people walking around doing nothing!

Always shop WalMart, however this time I was very disappointed. Got 3 of the items I went for but NO tree lights, none, zip, nada. And the shelving for Christmas decor, were in terrible shape, inventory very sparse. Then in toy department, such a mess. Trying to find the price on a couple of items but couldn't even see where they belonged. Just another mess. There is mixed numbers today. #2 -- for the cashier we had today. She didn't talk to us to say hi, didn't say how much we owed - just let us guess that she was done. She was handing all sacks to us. Got home missing 1 sack. Not happy we live 30 + miles away. After we got home called up the store. Customer service gets #5 rating. We went back to store they (Customer service)found everything she didn't give us!

My meds were ready at the pharmacy, & one of the pharmacists reviewed them with me. She also answered a question I had about one of the possible side effects. I easily found one of the self check-outs, which I'm getting more comfortable doing. There were clerks close by to help if needed.

I found a lane that I didn't have to wait no more than five minutes. But walking around the store is sad. There is no way that all the shelf should be empty, this goes for the frozen food department too. There are to many mangers or lead persons walking around doing nothing while the lane lines are long. The store owners need to come down an get this store back on track.

For me it's easier to use Walmart. I been going there so long I know where everything is. The prices are great and they have almost everything. No lack of customer service either... Well it's been a year since I posted my review of Walmart. I stand firmly that it is the fastest, most convenient, and practical store with Amazon a close second but Amazon you have to deal with shipping. Funny though, the only day you can find a employee to help you is restocking day.

The staff was very friendly. Eger to help us find the products were in search of. Check out was clean and went quickly. Lots of parking close to the building was available. I like that carts are sanitized at the door and mask are firmly reqiued.

Store has been rearranging aisles take awhile to locate stuff again. Still decent prices compared to other grocery stores in town (Hy-Vee you know who you are) remarkable savings compared to Hy-Vee prices. Store actually has a less cluttered layout after doing floors,shelving etc. 🚴‍♂️✌😷 The SE 14th st. store needs someone with a watch to open the doors they are perpetually late upto 15 minutes which is ridiculous. 🤬

It's not completely wal marts fault, that's why I give 3 stars, everything about the south side is kind of crowded and hostile and wal mart isn't much different. Poorly stocked shelves in areas of the store as well. The parking lot is pretty badly maintained as there are rocks all over the place.

Used to like coming to walmart. especially during the late nights when i couldn't sleep. but the downside is they now close at 11pm. but recently when i visited walmart it was 20 mins untill 11pm and they had a rude employee standing at the door telling customer's they could not enter the store. even if they were coming in for 1 item and their visit would not take longer then 20 mins. this personally took my 5 star review down to a 3.

Average department store, currently undergoing much remodeling and relocation of Depts. As can be expected, be prepared to walk a long way to shop. I still don’t appreciate or desire having to self-checkout at any store. I feel like an employee not a customer at that point.

This location is not my preferred. Their clearance section is way back in the corner so it seems like they have less interesting items as associates would have to walk clear back there to do get it there. Not to mention that it just seems to have less help and not enough ability to check out. I much prefer the West Des Moines or Altoona. Clarence section in those is always fun.

It's an average Walmart store. If you have been to one, more than likely you will be able to find what you are looking for at this one. Self check-out seems to be streamlined for the most part, which makes checking out a bit easier than in the past, although if you need customer service while checking out you may have to wait a few minutes longer for simple things like age verification and removal of security devices

Had a great visit at the location but it was a little hard to find items but in every department I ventured to there was a eager employee ready to help. Lady in the outdoor area helped me find an air mattress. Then the lady who helped me check out (20 items or less) was a delightful person. I wish I would have written down their names because they were the reason I gave Walmart 4 stars.

Overall the store was nice and clean. The actual Walmart employees were kind and all said hello. However the woman playing the Walmart "super cop" followed me everywhere in the store and made sure to hover over the self checkout registers while I was paying. Not really sure why I had a shadow; all items I purchased were placed in my basket and paid for-And my purse was a small cross body. I think the robo cop needs to check her attitude at the door next time a d pay more attention to the people who deserve it

Walmart is Walmart they have everything you need in the they have everything you need and then some for daily household me for daily household Needs.. One problem I do not like is that when you park 1 place they close the door an hour before the store closes on 1 side and the poor set for your car is your car is so when you're not feeling well you end up having a much farther walk than should be.

Seemed to be decently clean and there was a person around when I needed to know where cards were. Disappointed on: no card specifically for nephew or 9th birthday (that I could find), no gift card for Amazon (what store can you walk into and get one of those?), books down to both sides of 1 aisle. That includes e-books and audiobooks. Really, does no one that goes to Wally World read anymore??? Sad. Edit: I accidentally left my phone someone was nice enough to turn it in and Walmart employees made sure I got it back. Thank you!!! 🙂

It's a Walmart. But they have just about anything. Food prices are reasonable, and there are really good deals sometimes. It's usually busy so parking is a bear. This is a 24 hour store so if you can shop later in the evening and put up with some interesting patrons, it's almost tolerable...

This Walmart is very large and has all the extras that a Walmart can offer. Garden center and auto center. This place is almost always busy and has lots of traffic in and out. Nothing remarkable about the location of note. Getting in and out of the parking lot can be a bit tricky due to the high volume of vehicles.

This is a very good store, as far as Walmarts are concerned. It never looks like a hurricane came through, even during the busiest times, and also during transition times when they move merchandise from one area to another. This store is generally tidy, the staff are helpful and knowledgeable, and items are fresh in the grocery area. The auto center staff are great as well. Compared to the Walmart stores back where I'm from, this is a jewel!

My mom goes here to shop for groceries while I check out the makeup. Got to admit that the store is decent. The prices are good if your on a budget. The only thing is that there are usually 3 or 4 lanes open and they are extremely long. I see workers everywhere yet they won't open up another lane? The self checkouts are a pain because they never scan an item on the first try and I usually have to swipe the item multiple times.

They should go get stuff as soon as ordered instead found out they go grab it when get there! I ordered an hour before got there and had no chance cause they wait. I might as well tried Ankeny Walmart in person probably would of got it then. Never order to pick up at Altoona at least they don't go get it right away.

Prices are typically cheaper than anywhere else, but here's the catch; It's a freakin' zoo in there. If you like people-watching, and dodging oblivious idiots in the aisles.. this is the place for you. If you don't like the aforementioned attributes, go there as early in the morning as possible.

Overall, this store isn't horrible. On the grocery side there are often many empty shelves, particularly in the frozen section. They have some hard to find items not found in the other grocery stores in the middle aisles (pantry items), i.e. Duke's mayonnaise. The homeware side, including seasonal, using has what I'm looking for. No complaints there. Parking is a nightmare. The added self checkout machines help me get out fairly quickly. Usually no issues there either.

I'm not a fan of Walmart supercenters that lock their doors arbitrarily... this one was 24 hours, but has began closing between the hours of 1am and 6am. In my experience, the small amount of overnight customers doesn't do much to interfere with the cleaning and restocking of the store that happens during that time. And the convenience that 24 hour Walmarts offer to the public far outweighs the minor inconvenience to the store. Not to mention that a 24 hour supercenter has had a negative effect on other 24 hour businesses in the immediate area, causing them to change their hours or close down completely. So now that the doors are locked, choices are extremely limited. The store itself is clean and stocked. Staff was friendly. I just wish it was open 24 hours, like it used to be

They keep playing "pin the tail on the donkey" with their foods and merchandise. I suffer from chronic back pain and I have many items to pick up, I try to get a scooter. Half the time there are no scooters available, or they have a low charge. The Walmart app keeps changing format so it can be difficult to find a product. If I'm planning on buying many items and there is no scooter available, I leave and go to some other store.

Well...everything was stocked up. Seemed to be A good mix of consumers. The wemonwete all about deals while there partners watched th kid. Self check out and pay worked well, seemed to be A younger crowd . there were a lot of sales. I said a good mix of shoppers fair amount middle aged men. The iles see me to flow well. It was an enlightening experience. I personally purchased food items . all in all. I would recommend it for the light evening late night shopper, seemed yo be a lot of activity in the lot safety not a concern. Added benefit for the truckers plenty of parking. Review 9/18/

Store has improved but VERY disappointed that I can not write a check or use my bank card credit to buy a gift certificate. This has happened before. Well I needed to pick up a few things (clothing items) in a size 14 and 3-5 X. TheThey seemed to have a pretty good selection of 1-2 X but seems very limited on the 3 X and I could only find one item in 4 X. I ended up getting a couple of 3X items (casual pants and a non descript dress) I hope they fit and that my Aunt (who is in the hospital) likes them ??? ALOT of your employees just act like they dont hear you if your asking where i might find something...i just continue myself..but i was there tonight for a couple hours at the photo dept..a customer came up to a very nice employee from photo dept ... thinning brown hair ..glasses. 50ish man..the customer was all over that poor employee..this went on for 1/2 hour..managers were called back twice..finally managed to make the customer happy and the loud mouth rude man left..that employee would remember what im writting about..another employee at the photo dept..younger man from India or somewhere..very very nice young man..he kinda got involved with that nasty man..which was actually trying to get something free for something he broke..on a pre pay phone..both those men need to be recognized....

Seems a major hit and miss as far as customer service. The manager in electronics is a real tool and wasted my time and caused me a great deal of pain walking back and forth for no reason other then hid own inability to perform at his job. The lady who answers the phone, most often, has a lack of understanding for basic English. As such, you get misinformation and misdirected quite often. It is either that or she just doesn't know how to do her job and passes it off as a language barrier. As for the rest of the store...it is mediocre at best. The "homeless" people sporting signs at the entrances while wearing airpods in their ears is a real 'Welcome to Wal-Mart.'

I bought a phone from here and the black guy in electronics took the phone out the case and goes to the register. Once at the register he starts the transaction and I ask if I can see the phone because I wanna check one last time if it's the exact phone I just had. I loved that phone and no other would do. This jerkface acts like I'm going to run off with a phone that I'm literally in process of swiping my card for. Not everyone is a damn thief and you shouldn't treat them like they are. Found out about a 15 return policy that the store has for electronics. So if you buy a phone and you break it before 15 days you can bring the box and receipt back with product and you can exchange.
