Meininger Art Supply, or H. R. Meininger, has been around a long time, for 140 years. They carry all kinds of supplies, from fountain pens to print-making material to watercolor and oil paints and brushes. There’s so much more. I like Meininger, because of the excellent customer service, with people around to answer any questions I have, and they are family friendly. I’ve gone in with my kids, and they have provided my kids with an artistic activity to try. They have a few spaces in a lot, and there is also metered parking. I highly recommend this family-owned, local business.

Very cool art store. I go there for the stationery and fountain pen counter. This is one of the very few places in Colorado where you can see and touch a variety of modern fountain pens before you buy. Nice selection of inks and fountain-pen-friendly papers, too. The staff is friendly and helpful. The woman who usually runs the pen counter is delightful and very knowledgeable.

This place is amazing! A little pricey but totally worth it. I had to buy sheets of paper and they wrap it for you so I won't get damaged. Staff here is great. Being from a small town I was blown away by this place, pens with tracking devices, $250 paint brush, you name it!

An amazing, large, art store. It has a ton of supplies for all sorts of crafts and projects. It's two stories but all that is upstairs is canvases. There's an elevator if you have trouble with stairs. I particularly liked the posca holder. The employees are all really nice and know what they're doing or looking for.

The bright spot of my visit was an employee whose name I think was Jon (glasses, mustache). Dude knew his shizz... especially paints, canvases, easels, etc. and was very helpful and just an all-around super nice guy. If u go there and need assistance, seek him out. He's the epitome of a great company representative. As for the rest of it, the prices are a little on the really high side but there's tons of cool stuff for all levels of artists, from beginner to well established.

Awesome store for fountain pens and inks. Only Sailor dealer I know of in Colorado. And, the kicker, Patty who works there is an absolute gem. This store is a treasure, it's terrible I have lived in Colorado for so long and never visited despite it being right next to the Wizards Chest. Great selection of inks and pens, but buy what you love while they have it as stock moves fast. They can place orders ahead and have pretty excellent selection of solid pieces. Amazing all in one store for so many art supplies! Dip pens, inks, papers, notebooks, paints, canvases, woodworking, colored pencils, all kinds of goodies. Great for a fun date, great for any hobbiest. For fountain pens it will be hard to beat, and as I said Patty is a treasure. Extremely knowledgeable, pleasant, helpful, honest. Detailed knowledge of all the products, it was wonderful talking to her. The Jacques Herbin inks are amazing, Diamine inks too, including their Inkvent special releases. The selection is great and pricing isn't bad either. Check out the Esterbrooks, Kawecos, Sailors, and Pilots. And if you have questions the staff has answers. Definitely coming back here.

Two levels packed with a great variety of art supplies, from professional to student grade, and even a cute gift area. Some parking on the south side, noteworthy in that part of town. This is a great place to find somewhat unusual and higher quality materials, try out individual pencils, pens, etc., and get good advice. It's so much better to see and touch colors, surfaces, and tools, and talk to people that understand them, rather than try to choose online. This store is a true rarity, complete with a bit of price discounting, and little things, like packaging your paper so it'll get home safely, even to states like Oklahoma, where there's no cool art store like this.

This place is a dream come true for artists of all levels! They have an amazing selection of artistry mediums from acrylics to watercolors and oils and so much more! The best part is that they also have a wide range of prices for products to fit any budget you may be targeting. I visit here at least weekly to stock up on more supplies and check out what they have in stock. It’s such a cool place and I get so much joy from going!

I love this place. I use Montana brand spray paint for my set and this place has literally every color I’m the black, white, and gold lines as well as all the FX and speciality cans. The store is super well organized as well which is awesome. To top it all off, the staff is the best. Andy took a solid 20-30 minutes explaining all the ins/outs of all the airbrushes they carry and how they work. I would put this place up against any art store in the country!!

This is my go-to art store. It has a bit more character, a bit more flair than other art stores. This is mostly due to the doodads and gewgaws, the gizmos and gimcracks, the knick-knacks and trinkets. The cool stuff! There are lots of fun items, in other words, for kids. Or for the kid in every one of us. To put it another way, there is everything you need for any kind of artwork you would like to make... and then some. Also, the store's wares (whether adult or otherwise) are displayed and arranged in a rather artistic style. Other art stores are more utilitarian and business-like, but Meininger's is fun and occasionally surprising. I have sometimes been shopping when they've had demos at the store, and I've noticed a comfortable, enjoyable atmosphere to such events. The staff are nice and helpful. Addendum: I have now decided that Meininger's, while closer to my home, is pretty evenly matched by Guiry's, their chief rival. Both stores are, well, fun and cool. I'll continue to look for evidence that will allow me to form a definitive preference!

Cannot get over how amazing the staff are here. Prices are typically a little higher than another common art store in town, but the wealth of knowledge and help you receive from the associates is absolutely worth it. Ive easily had 30 minute conversations with employees, where they share their advice and knowledge with me. We love a particular pen lady, she's furthered us into our hobby, and I spent nearly an hour building the perfect DS watercolor set with their staff too the first time I came in. They have so much insight and its clear they are knowledgable and so willing to help you find what you need for your project. Its always a treat to come here!

Hard to find items. Good prices and quality stuff. Update: I wish I could say more about this place. It's like a candy store for artists, but a quality candy store, not a cheap place at all, but not expensive either. I bought 2 lamps about 10 years ago from here. I sold the magnifying lamp, but the other swivel/2 bulb lamp works great still

If you have any need at all to get something from an art store, go here. This place is perfect. I used to walk around Blick like a kid at a candy store, but this place became my new confectionery. Last time I was there, I purchased a fountain pen from their great selection and had a wonderful person help me with the purchase. Seriously, go here, find something that looks interesting, and start a new hobby. I think right now they are only offering curbside pickup, but I would still buy any art supplies I needed here.

Meininger is amazing- it is like a candy store for artists! My daughter got a gift card for Christmas. Even though I am not an artist, u still found some fun stuff - like a Cheshire Cat mug where the cat disappears when the mug had hot liquid in it, but the grin still remains. Definitely recommend!

If your looking to get creative with the highest quality art supplies then shop here and especially if you want to invest in yourself. the last piece i created using their paints and brushes turned out sublime. I mainly use golden brand paint, liquitex brand for their flow aid and glazes, and liquitex for their basics acrylic fluorescent neon colors.

I LOVED THIS STORE!!! A friend at the art studio I attend mentioned that they got a new marker from here and I didn't recognize the name of the place. They were flabbergasted and told me I NEEDED to check it out. Oh, I did, and I brought home some awesome things and have a wishlist for a future return trip too. Absolutely love the place! More than you could collectively see and process in a day's time. Has become number 1 spot for all art supplies. I do however think that 5pm is a little early for closing.... Especially because they are closed on Sunday's. Even if they were only open a little later a couple days/nights out of the week. Also they show tutorial-ish videos that are great but there is not true mention of the actual products that are being used. Can make it kinda hard to try new products or techniques.

If i could exceed 5 stars for the rating of this Meininger location, it would be so. My love for creating has thickened because of the variety of tools to use and the knowledge to execute. The employees of this establishment might as well list themselves as art doctors. They know the time, and none equip a watch. So you know, I AM CHEAP. That being stated, i happily spent 95% of my combined stimulus money at this store. Through 2021, i probably collected more supplies than meals, and id groundhog day that lifestyle choice wearing tall smiles. Legitimate shout outs to their entire staff, you all rock. More specifically, The PEN EXPERT is a blast to chat around with and just so darn smart. Pen trivia her, i double dare you. Now, ANTHONY. This man is heaven-sent; straight up angelic. His recommendations are game changers all day. Dude spits experience and is loaded foot to noggin with talent. If i could rewind time, id go back and try to grow up to be more like him. Such a treasure. OTHER STORES: take out a pen and pad and start taking down some notes. These folks are exemplary in all aspects of what to be.. Love you, Meiningers!

I really wanted to love this place. It was neatly organized and clean. They made me wait around for my order and couldnt find it even tho i placed it online ahead of time and they sent me an email saying it was ready. They also didnt have half of what i needed. I was given a Nalgene bottle with their logo on it for the trouble so that was really cool and i feel bad not giving a better review but this was my experience.

Good place to do business. Bit disconcerting to see a male clerk in a skirt. Felt a bit uncomfortable as am use to clerks groomed and dressed appropriately. The female clerk/ associate who waited on me was very knowledgeable and professional. Such a wonderful shop and business! They have such an amazing stock of any art supply imaginable. They also have supplies at all different levels of quality (from affordable to very high-end). I love this because if I want to try out a different type of art, I don't have to spend a ton to get the basic supplies. I came in today to find basic water color supplies, and was able to get everything I needed for about 20 dollars. The staff is all really friendly and helpful too. They don't try to sell you on the most expensive item, which I really appreciate. They ask questions about your experience in the area and suggest supplies that match it. Would definitely recommend to anyone in Denver who is looking at pursuing any artistic area!

Amazing service, I came in to buy a fountain pen and I can’t express how much I appreciated all the help from the sales associate. I didn’t know much about fountain pens and he set me up with everything I needed and got me in and out with all my questions answered. This place has sooo many different products for a multitude of different art techniques and modalities. The staff is on point and generally real friendly. I suspected items at Meiningers were more expensive than online/other stores, as it just has that nice specialty retailer, with knowledgeable-staff, kind of vibe. However last time I was in, I spot checked the items I was about to purchase and quickly discovered every item was either within a few cents as other retailers online, or cheaper (one item, by $10+!). In this day and age, a local brick&mortar like Meiningers is a bit of a unicorn, and I'm proud to support them whenever I can.👌

What more could you possibly need in an art supply store? Their collection of Leuchtturm1917 is the best in the area which I can't get enough of (literally, I have too many). Staff is awesome and offered to wrap a poster for me when they noticed how I was clumsily carrying it around. Definitely my go-to stop for acrylics and brushes as well as their extensive collection of Posca pens. Anyone into art or crafting will be enamored by this place.

This is the go-to art supply store in Denver. We needed a few art supplies for some projects, and -- as always -- they had what we needed. Note: they are limiting the number of people in the store at one time, so you might have to wait outside if you choose to go at a busy time. And or course, properly-worn masks covering mouth and nose are required at all times in the store and waiting outside to get in.

I used to go to another store to get my supplies and most of the time they didn't have what I need it but someone suggest to me that I should try this store and I don't regret it, this store is really good, they had everything I needed and the prices were way better than those other big stores, definitely Meiningers is my favorite place to get my supplies from now on and unlike those other stores, the staff here was really nice and helpful, we definitely love the experience shopping here!!

Tons of spray from Montana including 94, gold, pocket cans, and effect sprays like UV, glow in the dark, glitter hologra, crackle, metallic.. They also have Molotow cans, mops, markers and other mops and markers from Krink including the pump sprayer.

Best art store I've been to in the area. So many options and the prices are great, cheaper than other craft stores. But my favorite thing about it is definitely that they have an open stock of pens, pencils, markers, etc. This is especially useful for building up my Copic marker & Faber Casteel collections with the colors I'll use the most, rather than buying expensive sets that have colors in them that I won't use. The employees are helpful and the location is clean. Oh and it has it's own free parking lot. Love it!

My first time here I was nervous about not being able to find parking but there were a few spots nearby. This location has 2 floors. Not sure what was upstairs because I didn't have enough time to check it out. They have just about everything you could possibly need here but two of the items I went in for were out of stock (on order at least). I found the holy grail of open stock colored pencils and paper. I found the inktense pencils that I had been hoping to find. The watercolor selection is wonderful. Can't wait to return with more time to really see it all.

Basically every kind of art supply you could possibly need under one roof, and the service is excellent. Friendly staff, and they keep the place well-stocked. However, the prices are higher across-the-board for everything but canvas- they have good deals on canvas, but if you can find your other supplies elsewhere, I strongly recommend you try. I go here constantly because they are only place in time that has Molotow supplies well in stock, but if I had another option, I'd take it, specifically because of the prices.

Being from another large metropolitan area, I can say that no other art store can compare to Meininger's. This place is my go to place. I went in to pick up airbrush supplies. I needed to buy a special frisket ( sort of a masking) but couldn't tape it to my work. I wandered in right before closing time but you wouldn't have known it. The staff were extra helpful and friendly and more than happy to help me find the few little items that I needed. They were also kind enough to let me browse until the last second, and as a result I found a few more items to throw into the basket. If you're a visual artist of any medium you will probably find what you need here. Not only that but you'll probably find it easily as the store is especially well stocked and curated. This is the only place I'm going to go for art supplies in Denver.

Besides, where else are you going to walk in and get a Lamy mechanical pencil. They couldn't fix my ballpoint but gave me the card of someone who can. Its nice when you can leave a store smiling.
